    Konichiwa bitches

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

      First responder. Hee hee

  • Captain Obvious

You should’ve asked Scott why the fuck his web site has gone to shit so badly. It used to be good, but now it’s as worthless as a Ryan Leaf signed jersey.

    • DaBearsBlog

Very hard to keep up a site without financial backing

      • Sauron’s right eyeball

Yup, he needs some hot Nancy Kerrigan photos like da blog. They make me wanna go out and buy some velvet gloves. Meow…..

        • SC Dave

          lol

      • Captain Obvious

Then let it go. He obviously puts no time or effort into it anymore. Might as well pull it, rather than have it be some stale piece of shit.

    • AlbertInTucson

Never having run a blog, I have to knowledge to share about how to o it successfully.

  • SC Dave

No, not crazy. Solomon Thomas is amazing. Irish was first on the blog to point him out, and I’ve been raving since.

The giant difference I saw with him is that he SEES everything. You cannot teach that shit – the kid just fucking *gets* it.

    Thomas >> Allen.

We won’t take him, and we should.

    • MB30SD

      I agree… AT THIS POINT.

      Lot of green till April.

    • Thomas is def solid.
Allen has the production though in the NFL-lite. 21 sacks in last two seasons as Dlinemen. That’s production.
But Thomas just seems to make plays.

It might come down to the combine between them.

We all know Pace loves his combo freaks in the 1st.

      • Sauron’s right eyeball

What makes college players so tough to evaluate is the weakness of their opponents. I think it’s telling that Allen became just part of the scenenery in the Championship game, that and that Bama lost that game in a shootout.

        • MB30SD

I’ve been parroting this ever since that game… Dude disappeared completely.i was like WTF, THIS is the guy we want?!

The two players that reeeaaally stood out for me in that game as massive playmakers were……

          Foster and boulware

          • Sauron’s right eyeball

Lots of folks like the dude and he will probably make a career in the NFL but I’m very meh on him.

          • MB30SD

yeah, thomas seems like the Aaron Donald 2.0 to me (and Dave)

    • AlbertInTucson

      A guy (listed at) @270 and expected to run a 4.5 40…?

That is some serious heat to throw at Mr. Rodgers.

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

“Too often, Allen is one of the last players out of his stance which puts him in poor position from time to time. He’s able to get away with this in college, but NFL offensive linemen are much better and will take advantage of his weakness.”

One scouts comments about Allen. Could be why he was mia during the title game. He also isn’t as strong as he needs to be.

      • Irish Sweetness

He’s a tweener. Thomas is a tweener too. I like him to trim down and play OLB – say to a 260lb 6’3 LB.

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wl3EAGuIZLs

        • Sauron’s right eyeball

Both are studs in their own right but I’m meh on Allen fo sho.

    • Irish Sweetness

Walterfootball’s Database of mocks has Thomas going as high as #3 to us. But look at the mocks to us. Whatever happens we’re getting a Kizer, Trubisky, Watson, Allen or safety, or Solomon even. Or a tradedown for a first in next year’s draft. Sweet.

  • BearDown100393

    The Bears need Jay.
    And Jay needs the Bears.
    They complete each other.
    NFC North Champions

    • Huge Bears Penis

you are letting me down a bit BD. only NFC North Champs?!?!!?! more like SB CHAMPS!!!!!!

      • BearDown100393

        First the NFC North.
        Then the NFC
        And of course the NFL.

    • MB30SD

      The Bears need Jay Brian.
And Jay Brian needs the Bears.
      They complete each other.
      NFC North Champions

      • Huge Bears Penis

Brian Urlacher retired years ago. He ain’t coming back. let it go.

        • MB30SD

          fixed!

    • We have Jay Jr. in Barkley.
And he’s cheaper, younger and less inj prone.

      • DaCoaches Mustache

He doesn’t chuck interceptions at a high enough velocity

  • MB30SD
    • Sauron’s right eyeball

I can only imagine the treasure trove of …..ah…..art on your hard drive…ahem…

    • AlbertInTucson

      A puppy playing with…the “puppies”?

  • AlbertInTucson

He names Kizer the #1 QB prospect.

Maybe I missed why, other than “2 Year Starter”, but I’m still waiting for someone to refute the knock on Kizer that, from all appearances, when the competition stepped up, he didn’t.

    • Kizer and Watson seem to be at opposite ends.

Kizer doesn’t step up, but has the frame, arm and experience, while Watson is the opposite.

I agree with Scott about Mahomes though. That’s why I kept bringing him up in the QB possibilities.

I think he’s going to rise, but I hope we can possibly get him at the top of the 2nd.

And a radical QB proposal. Why stop there? Swing back in the 4rth and pick up Kaaya or whomever (a la Cousins).

In FA, see about AJ McCarron or even Tyrod.

Tyrod, Mahomes, Kaaya duke it out in PS.

If Tyrod bombs, got two more on the wings ready to go.

      • Huge Bears Penis

assuming Tyrod is a FA. McCarron is not a FA. might have to trade for either of them.

        • Yeah, the Tyrod scenario is rather interesting.

I do wonder what they would want for McCarron. If to prohibitive, maybe roll with Hoyer while the rooks Mahomes and Kayaa (or whoever Pace likes in the 2nd/4rth) get their feet under them.

If Hoyer gets hurt or returns to Texans form, roll out Mahomes or Kayaa.

Next year, swing again for a QB.

          Rinse wash repeat.

It’s like hitting at 9s at the club. Eventually, one will be drunk and broken up…

      • Sauron’s right eyeball

First round will be highest rated player on the Bears board, whoever that is. 2nd round? You go get your guy that’s still there.

        • MB30SD

          Yes!

          • Sauron’s right eyeball

Let’s see what size Pace’s balls are come draft time.

          • Johnnywad

Except nobody will know until three years after the draft. You know, after they play some football.

Not many folks liked the Kyle Long pick. Turned out to be a good one. Just don’t know on draft day.

One things for certain, Pace’s 2016 draft buys him credibility for this one.

          • Sauron’s right eyeball

            Yup…nobody knows…that’s how it go’s…

      • Irish Sweetness

Respectfully, to everyone’s draft picks …. where is Cutty in relation to them? If traded … at what price? If Cutty was shopped for a 4th rounder we screw ourselves. Anything short of a first would be disappointing (for me). You’ve got a trade window where you can ride him early next season and when somebody’s QB goes down, you cash in on some team’s desperation.

For what folk might be willing to pay, better Cutty stays with us than we dump him for peanuts. He’s worth more than that.

But if we draft a KIzer or Trubisky or whoever … who is the second/first guy on a team with no Cutty?

        • MB30SD

Sigh. I hope to god he’s on some other team so we can squash all this ridiculousness.

          • and maybe strip sack him a few times.

          • MB30SD

            yeeeeeeeeees ev, yeeeeeeesssss

  • I dated a “mormon” once. Very interesting. She was neurotic, naturally. She slept in her dad’s office for some reason. When she did have an apt, I came over, looked at the TV (not the slim ones), and what was on top of it?

    A dildo, naturally.

Went into her room, “Oh, why do you have a He-man painting?”

“That’s not He-man. That’s (so and so founder – white hair, sword, ripped).

I’m like, “I don’t know if he’s real, but I bet he can kick Jesus’ ass”

We did it. She had milky double Ds. Delicious.

I do miss them from time to time.

I think I would get a long with the Rev. I too debated Mormons from time to time.

And the best punk scthick I’ve seen was them not dressed in leather and mowhawks, but TOTALLY mormoned out. White collar shirt, tie, slacks. Even came in on bikes with their helmets. They wore the helmets throught out the show. It was funny as fuck.

      milk bone double Ds? whew.

  • BerwynBomber

“Jeff warns there may not be a young, franchise QB available this off-season.”

Short of Andrew Luck, doesn’t Jeff say that every off-season?

    • It’s the same logic the Bears have been using to grudgingly stick with Cargo, and look where that has gotten us.

      • Sauron’s right eyeball

The image of a cave man dragging his prey into his cave just came to mind.

  • Irish Sweetness

Wow – Malik Hooker really does seem to always be around the ball. 7 ints in 13 games. 3 TDs. 5.5 tackles for loss.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1WBK7tUfFc

We can sign a DE .. .but we can’t sign a FS like that. Surely he’ll have a higher rating than the QBs on Pace’s board.

    • MB30SD

      Ehhhyup

  • MB30SD

@ #3 pace BETTER take bpa… No QB is even in that discussion.

Garrett, Allen, hooker, Adams, fornette, foster, maybe Thomas by then, the one CB, I’m forgetting a few… but whomever people have as their top QB… That guy probably doesn’t even graze the top 15 best FOOTBALL PLAYERS in this draft.

Please god Don’t fuck this up pace, just go bpa at the pick. Just take your fav of the guys I listed… Shit, I’d be so happy with foster. Any of those guy can instantly step in and be a 10 yr starter.

    • Irish Sweetness

I’m in love with your man Hooker now. He’s a no-brainer surefire successful pick, and ends the blight of mediocrity we’ve had in the heart of the pass defense for the longest time.

      • MB30SD

        Yeeeeesssss Irish, yyyyeeeeeesssssss!

        • MB30SD

It’s OK…. To love a hooker my maings

Can somebody please explain why we give a shit who pays for a “wall” across our southern border. We spent $2B apiece on stealth bombers in the ’90’s. We could build the wall with change out of the cushions it seems.

    • Sactowns#1

A)It would be the most expensive govt undertaking in recent history. Combine that with a tax cut and you get yet another recession.

      • Johnnywad

LOL. Building a +/- 1000 mile wall will lead to recession? Uh huh.

        • Johnnywad

And how quickly do we make that back not paying for services for people that pay no taxes?

          • Sactowns#1

None. The vast majority of undocumented immigrants get here by plane. The majority pay taxes and for services like SS that they’ll never collect on. But you keep on believing that all our problems are caused by the poor and not by the rich taking your money.

          • One Dump from Retirement (GP)

            +a million

Thank God Sac is here. Otherwise I’d quit.

          • Johnnywad

            Fuck Sac.

          • willbest

Has he shared his tips on prepping for Civil War 2 with you yet?

          • One Dump from Retirement (GP)

            The Captain America movie?

          • Johnnywad

Hahaha. Yes. Lots of bourbon beforehand. Then a movie theater sized box of Milk Duds dumped into the medium bucket of popcorn (heavy fake butter sauce) with 64 ounces of fountain pop. Then more shots of bourbon upon conclusion. At least that’s how I do it.

          • beninnorcal

I read 40% come by plane but I’ll spot you 10% and let’s say it’s 50%. That still leaves 50% on foot.
Bottom line, illegal immigrants cost us taxpayers about 115B per year. I don’t think the wall will cost a third of that.

          • Sactowns#1

Where the hell did you come up with that figure? lol Fox news can tell you anything and you’ll believe it. lol

          • Huge Bears Penis

did someone piss in your cheerios this morning? I have seen the 115B number sited in several places. Pretty sure there has been cost studies to back up the impact of illegal immigrants on the local/state/federal levels.

          • Sactowns#1

            Cited* fyi.

          • Huge Bears Penis

My bad, you also forgot to point out that I did not capitalize the first word of a sentence.

          • SC Dave

Why would anyone think $115B is too high to believe?

          • Johnnywad

Not sure where you’re getting your illegals. But I can tell you that here in Michigan, every harvest season brings them in by the thousands. They arrive in $400 dollar cars with expired Texas plates. Their children go to our public schools, cram our classrooms, eat two free meals a day and then leave before the official state student count day. So the small community schools in agricultural areas are left to pay for them while receiving no money from the state. That’s a sliver of the pie. Just a fraction. Not sure how you figure illegals are largely arriving by plane. The ones causing the problem have no money and likely have never flown.

          • Sactowns#1

You should be recovering the money from their employers. Ya know, the ones getting rich off of illegal labor. But lets build a wall. THAT will stop the demand!

          • Johnnywad

Yep. Shame on them too. I agree. Same thing happens in the construction trades.

          • willbest

I want to do both. Put a few of the Big Ag executives in jail next to the Wall Street guys and that will stop the games… oh wait …

          • beninnorcal

You’re right, Sac, they’re all staying here for free.
I don’t watch any news, btw.

          • beninnorcal

            http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-469465

There ya go, smarty-pants, several cites link the study, but I made sure to use cnn, because that’s probably your ‘fox news’.

          • willbest

            Citation?

        • Sactowns#1

I can see you’ve never worked a govt construction project. This “wall” would also require taking land from some 3,000 citizens. Meaning hundreds of lawsuits. the impact studies alone will cost… ya know what. fck it. I’ve been arguing with idiots all week. I give up.

          • beninnorcal

So sorry we have to bring you to our lowly and idiotic level. Clearly you have much more pressing issues that lead you to a football blog, Sac.

          • Johnnywad

The notion of you, a bleeding heart, lamenting the scope of a government funded project is a thing of true beauty.

            Further. Go fuck yourself.

I graduated at the top of my class from a well regarded University. I received academic scholarships for a good portion of my education, worked for some along the way, borrowed and subsequently paid back the rest. I have built a small but successful construction company from nothing. I am 43, nearly have my mortgage paid off and own two vacation homes. My retirement fund is well in hand and my kids college is already covered. So, you can take your idiot remark and shove it up your ass.

Perhaps you’ve been arguing all week because you’re just fucking wrong and fail to ever listen to a God Damn thing anybody else says.

          • CanadaBear

Good on ya Johnny. We don’t agree about the wall but who cares? Getting into pissing contests and name calling over this shit is a waste of time. Unless, of course, we’re talking about the Fudgies. Then name-calling is preferred.

          • beninnorcal

But Canada, I kind of understand Johnny’s frustration. Sac can really come across like a condescending douchebag sometimes(all of the time in regards to politics).
To simply deny that illegal immigration is a huge burden on American taxpayers is not only dumb, it also got Donald motherfucking Trump elected, of all the 330 million people that live here.

          • CanadaBear

I agree with Sac but the crack about idiots was unfortunate to say the least. I try to stay out of the political stuff because nobody is changing anyone else’s mind so why go there? Totally understood why JWad was pissed.

          • SC Dave

            That first sentence is priceless.

          • Sauron’s right eyeball

I see you’ve done some homework Sac. People are going to be facked when they find out the wall was built to keep Americans from leavin. Personally I ain’t buyin any bullshit until I see it actually happen.

      • Huge Bears Penis

what do you consider recent history?

      • willbest

Business cycle. We are supposed to get a recession. Would have had one a couple years ago if Yellen would have ended ZIRP like she was supposed to.

        • AlbertInTucson

Like Yellen was ever going to jeopardize Obama’s “Legacy” or stop Hillary before she even got started by raising interest rates.

      • Sauron’s right eyeball

Why can’t we just build a pyramid and be done with it?

        Virgin sacrifices for erraone!

    • CanadaBear

FFS if the govt is going to spend that much money on an infrastructure project, re-build bridges/roads, something useful. The fucking wall is a joke. Like people can’t figure out how to get over or under it, please. The cost to effectively guard a 1000 mile stretch will be prohibitive and pointless. Not to mention, the vast majority of illegals do jobs that nobody else is clamoring for on any level.

      • Johnnywad

Canada we currently have a national debt north of $18 trillion dollars. Please explain to me how the money to build this wall is going to change anything. It’s a pittance in the grand scheme of things.

And further, my roads and bridges are fine. I’m not sure what all the kissing and moaning is about. I can drive anywhere at any time with no problem. There is constant road construction in Michigan the second the frost leaves the ground until early December.

And believe it or not, it is completely possible to secure a wall.

        • CanadaBear

I see tons of reports about bridges in the US being unsafe. The wall is pointless. Just have to agree to disagree.

          • Johnnywad

Fair enough. I have no idea if it will work or not. Only time will tell. But the current situation is unsustainable. We have to try something.

My larger point is that the fighting over the dollars, once it’s been determined that it’s getting done, is stupid. It’s a non issue.

      • willbest

If walls don’t work why does Mexico have one on their Southern border. Israel? Hungary is building more. Plenty of walls all over the planet. And they are being maintained. You would let them deteriorate if they didn’t work. Obviously no wall is foolproof, but they work pretty well for stopping all but the most committed.

The United States Maintains something like 160 military installations in 80+ countries. We keep standing Armies in Korea, Japan, and Europe. Our Navy polices the Ocean. Our defense budget is over $600 billion annually. So we could reallocate some of that and be fine.

Another easy target to reallocate is the TSA. We spend $8 billion annually groping people at airports when all that is needed to stop another 9/11 is a reinforced locked door on the cockpit of all airplanes. Sure blowing up an airplane and killing a lot of people is splashy, but I think Orlando showed us that if you got 16 baddies in the US there are far easier ways to kill a couple hundred people. And that is all you can get with an airplane these days since nobody is going to let you crash it into buildings anymore.

I hate the “doing jobs Americans won’t do” line. Labor is not immune to supply and demand. The more laborers in the market, the lower wages go. And its not confined to the low skill labor market. Though that is the market we should be most concerned about if we gave a flop about the bottom 40% of Americans.

        • SC Dave

Let’s not forget the education-industrial complex’ vastly successful propaganda campaign to dupe Americans into believing that a college degree is necessary for success in life.

We could actually HELP people here by exchanging brainwashing by ivory-tower leftists for vocational training that teaches people something useful. You know, maybe more people that could safely wire a house rather than skilled at seeking safe spaces.

    • willbest

Blame the media. They are desperate for any way to discredit Trump with his supporters. If the US pays for the wall they think it will be a deep violation of his base’s trust. Of course, they are fucking retards that don’t understand him or his base or suffer some form of autism spectrum disorder. They keep interrpeting everything he says hyper literally, so they can claim he is a liar.

Obama promised to go line by line through the budget and get rid of wasteful spending. Nobody fucking asked him how many hours that took him, or what page he was on that day, or why he never found any. But now we have the press asking questions like “Were Trump’s people sitting in the front row at the CIA because there was too much enthusiasm.” No? “Well how about the 2nd and 3rd rows? were they seated there?” So the press secretary’s aid is wasting his time trying to figure out where the 8 people that accompanied trump to the CIA were in the room.

“and make them pay for it”

Obama called it rhetoric, Trump alternate facts, what the common man knows it as is “bullshit”. Nobody cares about bullshit except partisans on the other side.

Nobody cares if Mexico pays for it, its $25 billion (largest reputable number I have seen) over 4-5 years. The IRS will give away more than that in fraudulently filed tax returns over the same time.

      • “If you build a 100 ft wall, Mexicans will simply build a 101 ft ladder” – Geraldo Rivera, douche extradonaire

        • willbest

Of course, it would take you a good hour to get that thing set up, get to the top with the repelling rope and get down the other side, at which point the border patrol agent will be there to get you.

    • Waffle

Stealth bombers changed the game bro. Worth every penny.

      Plus they look fucking cool.

    • “Mending Walls”

Something there is that doesn’t love a wall,
That sends the frozen-ground-swell under it,
      And spills the upper boulders in the sun;
And makes gaps even two can pass abreast.
The work of hunters is another thing:
I have come after them and made repair
Where they have left not one stone on a stone,
But they would have the rabbit out of hiding,
To please the yelping dogs. The gaps I mean,
No one has seen them made or heard them made,
But at spring mending-time we find them there.
      I let my neighbour know beyond the hill;
And on a day we meet to walk the line
And set the wall between us once again.
We keep the wall between us as we go.
To each the boulders that have fallen to each.
And some are loaves and some so nearly balls
We have to use a spell to make them balance:
“Stay where you are until our backs are turned!”
We wear our fingers rough with handling them.
Oh, just another kind of out-door game,
One on a side. It comes to little more:
There where it is we do not need the wall:
He is all pine and I am apple orchard.
My apple trees will never get across
And eat the cones under his pines, I tell him.
He only says, “Good fences make good neighbours.”
Spring is the mischief in me, and I wonder
If I could put a notion in his head:
“Why do they make good neighbours? Isn’t it
Where there are cows? But here there are no cows.
Before I built a wall I’d ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offence.
Something there is that doesn’t love a wall,
That wants it down.” I could say “Elves” to him,
But it’s not elves exactly, and I’d rather
He said it for himself. I see him there
Bringing a stone grasped firmly by the top
In each hand, like an old-stone savage armed.
He moves in darkness as it seems to me,
Not of woods only and the shade of trees.
He will not go behind his father’s saying,
And he likes having thought of it so well
He says again, “Good fences make good neighbours.”

    • BerwynBomber

We’ll see. The Cheese strike me as an inbred ”loyalty” type franchise that is as much about nostalgia as they are winning. That 36 point opponent average in Rodgers’ seven playoff losses is next to astounding. Can you imagine if we wasted a once-in-a-lifetime QB talent like that on the Bears? Fuck, we would be demanding the GM’s, HC’s and DC’s heads on pikes. Like three years ago.

P.S. My bet is Thompson will sign a CB in the off-season, but Capers’ unit will eventually be exposed, even if it takes the post-season. Basically, the only thing that guy ever did good up there was deploy Woodson in a semi-original fashion. Otherwise, he has never shown he is on the level of a Fangio.

  • After long consideration, I’ve decided I’m all in on a QB

Sam Darnold, QB, USC (for victory!)

He’s everything I want in a QB. To quote Walter :Sam Darnold has taken the Pac-12 by storm, as he’s been incredible ever
since taking over as the starter, which was capped off by his amazing
Pac-12 performance. A big quarterback with a nice arm, terrific accuracy
    and decent mobility

Big (6’4 225). Clutch (did you see the Rose Bowl? Holy shit!). Came from a real offense and not some daffy duck spread/read-option/shotgun O. Will have experience. Competed in a resurgent Pac12 (Stanford, UCLA, Oregon and Bowl games). Thus far durable. Intangibles. Poised. Fearless. Leader. Winner.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvuHxEsUHOQ

Yes, yes, Darnold will come out NEXT year, but that’s a minor inconvenience.

    This is the Butch plan.

Trade down. Yeah, might be hard, but I’m guessing ONE team will want the #3 pick cuz they want their QB. Could be Kizer. Could be Turbisky. Heck, could be Watson or Mahomes. But I’m guessing a team will want that #3.

Can’t be too picky, I know. But we should be able to reap a 1st this year, and a 1st next year (and likely an extra 4rth, depending)

To be quite honest, the 1st this yr is incidental. These are the guys I can live with.

Hooker, Adams, Allen, Thomas, Top CB (Humphrey?) Top OT (Robinson?) Top ILB (Foster).

So by my math, we could trade down to #10ish and still land any of these guys who will DEF upgrade our team NOW.

And realistically, HB Fournette, another QB, and WR Mike Williams will likely get drafted before some of those Bear targets, so could theoretically drop to like #13.

But, like I said, this year’s 1st is sorta incidental. What is far more important is NEXT year’s 1st, which will hopefully be high (ideally we trade down with a suckass team).

Pace does his thing (still have a high #2 and now an extra #4rth) in this draft. We live with Hoyer and maybe a mid rd QB like Kayaa for now (and see if Shaw can bring it)

Then, when Fox takes a hard dump and washes out, we bring in a hot new HC (McDaniels?) we throw the bank to get Darnold, and the dynasty commences.

    Winning, bitches!

    • MB30SD

I’m in on this plan. As long as we don’t trade back too far and miss out on both hooker AND adams this year.

Oh, and then there’s this: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000145424/article/alt-ranks-most-spectacular-usc-qbs-in-nfl-history

that said, I like your plan in general, we just need the right deal to be offered… we’ll figure out which is the QB of our future dynasty later.

OH! and if Matt Patricia doesn’t get an HC job this year, please god let’s take a flyer on him. I just have a weird feeling he’s going to be a bad ass HC for some reason.

      • SC Dave

Let them have adams. I want thomas.

        • MB30SD

over malik? We have dlinemen… 2 or 3 of which are supposed to step the fuck up. We took one @ #7 this very last year.

We have had and currently have in the Dbackfield……?

          (very very very loud crickets)

    • Also, I know a lot of shit can happen between now and then, but “the Chosen” Rosen, UCLA (a tribesmen, no less. Rosen to Bravermen in the greatest Jew duo since God and Moses) also grades higher then Kizer and the bunch, and he can be our fallback plan, or maybe some other like Josh Allen, Wyoming.

In other words, NEXT year’s QB class will theoretically be much stronger.

      • MB30SD

        jes.

I like the kid from UW who’s staying in school (right?)

        • Think so. I know that Darnold, Rosen and Josh Allen are projected high for next year and many scouts think they’re all better than the top QB this yr (whether that’s Turbisky or Kizer).

A lot can happen, but we’ll have TWO 1s as ammunition to use in a much stronger draft class (or at least AS strong. I can’t imagine next year’s QB class being weaker).

          • MB30SD

so that’s 3 then already. The U dub kid seems like a bad ass, just needs another year in the oven.

I’d love Rosen the Chosen… except he looks like a jewish Rodgers… but he has to prove he can hold on. Seems like he shit the bed a little this year for my beloved Bruins

          • Rosen has a lot to prove. His frame is a little light too, but kids young. Still growing into his body.

But Rosen has insane accuracy, touch, and again, runs a semi-nfl O.

I would much prefer Darnold, but if Rosen was in this draft, he’d be the #1 QB even with his flaws. And no doubt some other QB will appear on the radar out of the blue.

But either way, next year’s QB class by most accounts will be A+/A as oppose to this C+ class.

          • MB30SD

totally. That’s why MY master plan is similar to yours. Let’s stock the D, plug some gaps on O (TE, OT) and spend that shiny new #3 on mr. hooker, thomas, adams, or even foster.

NEXT year is the time to sell the farm out to get our QB of el fututo!

            Oh, and of course 300/3/0!!!

          • Da Destroya!

Yes, we’re on the same page. We both like Pace and distrust hard dump Fox.

We can live with Hoya, but are ok if Shaw or some other QB outduels him in camp.

Load up. Be patient (fuck, we gave Cargo EIGHT fucking yrs). Keep an eye on the prize (real HC and QB).

It’s like buying a car. Not happy with this year’s model but got a sneak peak at next year’s bad ass design, here’s a thought – wait for that bad ass model!

In the meanwhile, roll with the Camry for a year.

          • MB30SD

And my son will be 30 in a month. So cheer up, lads! They’ll be fine.

          • CanadaBear

I’d recommend a ’59 Buick. 4000 lbs of rusty steel and bad assery! My buddy had one that we used to ride around in and drink. One late night/early morning we came around a corner and hit a road sign. It completely uprooted the sign and sent it flying. The chrome trim above the headlight had a small crease in it. That was the only damage! The bumper didn’t have a scratch on it.

          • Johnnywad

My buddy had a late 70’s Cougar. Same deal. Hood and Trunk forever. He could run over a mailbox at 25 miles an hour (hypothetically speaking) and you couldn’t tell anything had happened.

But rear wheel drive and no antilock brakes or air bags. Not putting my boy in that. I know, I know. Chicken shit.

          • MB30SD

Why in thee fuck did you just do that to me?!?!

          • Johnnywad

So you have time to lobby the State of California to approve the Sherman Tank as a legal over the road vehicle.

            See? I’m helping.

          • MB30SD

hahaha, funny, my daughter keeps telling me she wants, ‘a car faster than gampy’s’. for the record her gampy (the ex’s dad not mine) drives a fucking Ferrari F12 Berlinetta…. yellow. (http://buyersguide.caranddriver.com/media/assets/submodel/6866.jpg)

So I’m like, um, fuck no you’re not (not literally, I never swear… or drink… in front of my kids). I keep telling them they’re getting tanks, end of story. hahaha

          • SC Dave

Awesome! But it will never happen on the left coast unless you retrofit with either an electric or CNG powerplant.

Did the Bear shit in the woods when we drafted Urlacher? No, sign the best dam Playa avails. We ain’t the Browns yet and we sho as hell ain’t the patriots. Enough with playing footsie’s, mmmkay. I want Pace to walk the fack up to the microphone, make his selection and then kick the podium the fack over. Feel me brah?

      • We NEED a real QB. Jeff is 100% correct in that assertion (how he can claim that then simultaneously want Cargo is like some zen paradox I will never solve).

That true franchise QB doesn’t look he’s in this class (Now, if you wanna go all-in on a guy like Tryod, that’s a diff plan).

Hooker, Adams, Allen, Thomas, Humprey, Robinson, Foster…those guys are LEGIT. I would be thrilled with Hooker, and excited with the rest.

We would be doing both. Building our roster and saving up for a stud QB next year.

Part of the reason I’m for this plan is cuz I don’t trust Fox to be around to groom a say Kizer or Turbisky (and even if Fox sticks which QB did he develop? not Barkley)

        • MB30SD

If rodge walks up and says, “Malik Hooker”, I will seriously piss myself. I won’t believe it. I’ll still think it’s all a cruel joke on us until hooker actually plays in a game.

I’m just tired of the pusay culture in Chicago. When I first moved to Texas, Cowboys fans literally whined and bitched about losing to the dirty cheater Bears for weeks. That’s the kinda of culture the Bears need to get back to. Really sick and tired of being the team that everyone loves to play on the road.

Trading down is the way to go (see Pats) if we could still nab any of those.

My only real concern is not finding someone to trade down with.

Like Biggsy pointed out the Bears were desperately trying to trade down at the #3 once, but couldn’t.

So you know how they drafted at #3 that year?

        • Irish Sweetness

Jay Cutler isn’t a real QB? Wow. There’s only a handful of people who can make the throws he makes. Only the haters won’t have seen him turn the corner. We can win with Jay.

          • MB30SD

8 years dude. You’re being silly, any and all corners are years behind. And yes the problem is he makes those throws to both teams… And a couple strip sacks.

          • Sauron’s right eyeball

What happen to you man? You used to be able to see.

    • Johnnywad

Too bad we’re going 8-8 next year and have no shot at a 1st round QB

      • All the more reason to get TWO 1sts.

Say we trade down with Bills, Jets, Browns. Chances are, ONE of them will suck major balls, likely a top 10 pick.

a #10 and #12 is a good starting point. If we must sweeten the pot and throw in another 1st from ’19, so be it.

In the end we’d only give up two 1sts (plus the extra we got from the trade down) and like a mid rounder.

In short, pretty much the same we gave up for Cargo, and I was thrilled with that deal initially.

        • Johnnywad

Sounds a bit far fetched but I’d be down. I thought we were getting Hooker though.

          • It’s not really far-fetched. Teams trade up/down all the time, and unlike in previous years, we have a top #3 pick many teams might covet, esp those in the #7-12 range.

If we can trade down, have no issue.

If not, I’m down with Hooker.

But next year when Darnold, Rosen, Allen, Rudolph are flying off the board, and we’re stuck with Hoyer and a bag-o-chips, we’re gonna be depressed. Trust me.

          • Irish Sweetness

            This. Trade-down … or Hooker.

          • MB30SD

See that shit, you’re coming around Irish.

            You like apples?

Let’s trade down AND get hooker!!!

            How bout den mofo apples?!?!

          • willbest

Hoyer? At 4 wins we will have a top 5 pick. Still need #1 to not need a QB though. Otherwise you are hoping that they draft Goff while you get Wentz

        • willbest

You need the team that sucks balls to not need a QB or they will never trade with you

      • Irish Sweetness

That’s where collecting picks comes in. Trade-down.

    • BerwynBomber

’18 could definitely be a QB-heavy year. Not only the PAC-12 guys (Darnold, Rosen and Browning) but Okie St’s Rudolph as well.

      • AlbertInTucson

Darnold definitely impressed. It is no accident USC turned into one of the best teams in the country when Darnold became their QB. One wonders why he couldn’t win the job to start the season but, his poise and skill seem to scream “Next Level”.

“Rosen The Chosen” backslid this season for UCLA.
He was struggling even before he got hurt.

Browning seemed to wilt vs. ‘Bama. He dodged a bullet just before the half (in which he did not look very good) and then INSISTED on making a game-changing turnover on the very next play with a terrible decision and an equally terrible, panic throw.

        • Yeah, really my plan is SPECIFICALLY for Darnold. All-in on him.
But regardless, there should be a few QB next draft at least as good as any from this yr.

          • AlbertInTucson

Don’t have to sell me on Darnold.

A trade-down is where we really win. We could have a DE, two safeties and an OT before we’re out of the second round.

So let’s say they keep him and the Bears win 6 games instead of 4, whoop-de-do. They are still no closer to solving their QB issues and still aren’t a decent team.

So I am going to borrow from Butch and assume there are 6 Defensive play makers where you don’t really care which one you get. Toss in 2 QBs, an RB and an OT. That gives you 10 players.

Now I don’t buy BPA unless you find yourself with Aaron Rodgers drafting 20th where there is just so much expected value you can’t pass it up. Here is the draft order with 3 critical needs for each team. Of course, that doesn’t mean teams are set at other positions. For example, the Browns aren’t set at any position so they truly find themselves in a BPA situation. And there isn’t a lot to work with on the 49ers either. But the Bears would be shooting themselves in the face if the drafted Guard, ILB, RB, or WR here (assuming we sign Jeffery).

    1) Browns – QB, OL, DB
    2) 49ers – QB, WR, OL
    3) Bears – QB, DB, DL
    4) Jags – QB, OL, DL
    5) Titans – DB, WR, DL
    6) Jets – QB, OL, DB
    7) Chargers – OL, WR, LB
    8) Panthers – OL, DB, DL
    9) Bengals – DL, OL, DB
    10) Bills – DB, WR, OL
    11) Saints – LB, DL, DB
    12) Browns – QB, OL, DB
    13) Cardinals – QB, OL, LBs

Which leads to the problem with the trade back scenario. Going past 8 or 9 is exceptionally dangerous in terms of getting a top defensive talent. So you can rule out the Browns or Cardinals coming up to #3 unless they are paying you a King’s ransom. And its hard to believe the teams in 7 through 11 are going to want to give up all that much in order to lock in the OT or DB they all need. Then again they all need those positions so its possible. Of course that is bad for us since we need those positions too.

Basically the only trade back situation I see is if one of the top 2 QBs survives to #3 and the Jets trade up for him.

    • CanadaBear

Yeah, everyone loves the trade down scenario because with all those extra imaginary picks they get all the players they covet. Totally agree with your trade scenario. Just don’t see many teams being motivated to move up.

      • BerwynBomber

Unless Andrew Luck is available, I’m guessing every fan base of every team would, on average, prefer their team trade down. It’s like the back-up QB of draft scenarios: everyone loves it.

Though in fairness to Butch, he did lay out a detailed plan.

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

You’re assuming teams would only be willing to trade up for a qb. I don’t think that’s true. If the first 2 picks are qb’s no problem, draft hooker or your defensive stud and draft our qb in the 2nd. I’m not down for using the 3rd pick for the 3rd qb taken. That would be unfortunate.

      • willbest

Just looking at Drafts since the rookie wage scale went into place (everything before that isn’t comparable). Here are the trades in the top 10 for non QB.

        2016
Titans traded from 15 to 8 to get an OT Conklin (after trading from #1 to 15)
We traded from 11 to 9 to get Floyd

        2015
        None

        2014
Bills traded from 9 to 4 to get Watkins
Browns moved from 9 to 8 to get CB Gilbert

        2013
Miami moved 12 to 3 to get DE Dion Jordan (they paid peanuts for this move)
Rams moved 16 to 8 to get Tavon Austin

        2012
Browns moved 4 to 3 to get Trent Richardson
Jags moved 7 to 5 to get Justin Blackmon
Dallas moved 14 to 6 to get Morris Claiborne

        2011
Falcons moved from 27 to 6 to get Julio Jones

        • willbest

Its a small sample size. But it tells me elite WRs can entice people to move up. That could in theory entice the Titans. Problem is they know the Bears and the Jags don’t need WRs. And is the best WR this year enough to entice the Chargers? They have some solid WRs they just never stay healthy. Plus we have FA to shake things up too.

          • Sauron’s right eyeball

Hold on there fella. Atlanta went all in on Julio because they thought it would put them over the top and win the SB next year. I’d be seriously pissed if that was the Bears that gave up the farm for him.

          • willbest

Well they might win it this year, better late than never. He wasn’t a complete bust like Blackmon

          • Sauron’s right eyeball

Fair enough but julio example could be an effective argument against paying too much for trading up.

        • SC Dave

Looks like a good move for Atlanta.

          • willbest

They gave up a lot for Julio

Cleveland got Altanta’s 1st, 2nd, and 4th in 2011 and their 1st, and 4th in 2012. So they paid handsomely for him. Fortunately for Atlanta they were good again in 2011 so they were parting with a top 16 pick in 2012

          • Sauron’s right eyeball

Yeah and sucked monkeys balls or the next 2 0r 3 years.

      • Irish Sweetness

If Garrett is there at #3 … the phone will be ringing at Halas Hall. We can maximise the shit of him.

        • Sauron’s right eyeball

Could be. Either way, it’s gonna be hard for Pace to screw this one up. Right????

        • CanadaBear

If he’s as good as they say, why would you pass him up? Blue chippers is what it’s all about. So what if you get 2-3 more picks if the guy you passed up turns into a HOF’er.

    • MB30SD

Take the Malik Hooker and run!

      • Irish Sweetness

        Or two firsts…. a second and ….

        • MB30SD

          Sure, if it’s offered… That’s a big game-time IF.

And if we’re not dealing in ifs… Ya take a hooker

    • I conceded it could be tough but not unrealistic.
Here’s just one of many scenarios.
      Browns draft Garrett. 9ers Allen.
“Top” QB still on the board.
Jags draft right behind us. New regime like their own guys. Bortles is Cargo’s illegitimate unvaxed son. There’s a STRONG impression theyd go QB. Whether It’s true or not is irrelevant. Teams like the Jets, Browns, Bills (maybe even an aggressive and surprise team like the Cards at 13) get antsy. Heck even rhe Jags who may indeed covet a certain QB whike Pace is telling them i got 2 teams on the line. Make me an offer. (Costner style)

QBs ALWAYS get pushed up and overdrafted. Happens everyear like clockwork. Supply-demand .

I could easily envision this scenario.

And those prospects i mentioned arnt the only ones I’d be cool w. Like i said, there’s still debate about who’s the best at CB and OT , and in such a deep CB class the 2nd best this yr could be the one.

And if we do indeed let Alshon walk, well throw WR into the mix.

But i digress. The main goal is next yrs 1st for Darnold.

I mean, the Jets and Jags have drafted studs and they suck as much as us w scrubs. Why? No QB.

Gotta get that no brainer stud and the Butch plan IMO is a not too fantastic or expensive way to do it.

Just takes a little vision, aggression and patience, all of which the Bears have lacked mightily before which is why we’re here now.

      Hopefully that will change.

      • MB30SD

I think the browns are going to go full browns and take Watson @ #1. It’s just setting up to be too browns for them not to.

9ers then go trubinsky or kizer.

        • Lol in that case we’d almost be obligated to draft Garrett. But i think it was Shefty who relayed that the Browns have an “astronomical grade” on Garrett.

But a few diff scenarios could favor the trade down.

If many teams have Kizer-Trubisky in same tier, and the 9ers go say Kizer, then all those QB desperate teams will really get antsy and want to secure Trubisky (or Mahomes or whomever).
In fact, when a perceived drop off at position is nigh that’s when teams trade up to land that last stud b4 the drop off

          • MB30SD

I’d be ok with garrett… or Malik (obviously)… or allen… or thomas… or adams… or foster… or the top OT… or the top CB.

Dude, Pace just *can’t* do wrong as long as he makes the no-brainer pick. I mean, if he goes fucking myhomie or the QB from wyoming I will fucking throw something at my TV and will cease to be a bears fan until we stop being the browns.

Basically, I’ve come to the simple and inalienable proof of… just don’t fuck it up man. Just don’t pull a CD (yeah yeah, I know he’s going to fucking disneyland, life’s not fair sometimes).

Just pick from that list above… that’s it. it’s simple. a fucking monkey could blow our first pick out of the water.

          • CanadaBear

Other than the QB pick, I trust Pace to take a great player at 3. Not sure who that is but Pace certainly seems competent enough to know. That QB pick is the wild card. If he takes one at 3 and he develops into a good QB (or better), WOO-FUCKIN’-HOO, if not, they are fucked. I can’t imagine him taking a QB at 3 unless it’s REALLY his guy. Otherwise, if he’s wrong, he’ll join Foxy on the street.

          • MB30SD

right!?! QB @ #3 this year is just way too risky, when you can go with what we already have, patch the rest of the team, then get your ‘chise next year.

I’m against taking any QB out of SC for obvious historical reasons, but there should be plenty to choose from next year.

          • Irish Sweetness

Logically, the only thing to do at #3 is trade down. You’re multiplying your top picks. You’re turning a die-roll into three or four die-rolls in top rounds.

          • MB30SD

Dude, the issue is it has to be offered to you, you can’t just say, yep it’s the logical thing to do, call the Jets and say, OK we’ve decided to trade down, here’s what you’re giving us for our 3rd.

You can wish and hope for it, but the only thing that’s in your hands is the #3, and with the#3 selection in the 2017 NFL draft, the Chicago bears select Malik Hooker.

          • Huge Bears Penis

It made sense to me. Just trade down. How do we accomplish that??? Step one, hire a bunch of hypnotists. Step two, have those hypnotists infiltrate the various organizations. Step three, have them hypnotise the decision makers in the their perspective organizations to give us sweetheart deals.

            Seems logical enough for me.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Browns take bpa, then best QB on the board with the 12th pick. It’s what I’d do but then again…..they are the Browns.

          • MB30SD

that was my point maings. we all know what the logical move is…. but it’s the browns, thus…. watson!

        • Irish Sweetness

At that point do you draft Myles or trade down?

          • MB30SD

You take Mike’s, because a decent trade offer not for a QB desperate team probably won’t be worth it

      • willbest

The only way to secure Darnold next year is a 2 win season (against the fudgies obviously). Since 2011 when the new CBA took affect, here is a list of teams that needed a QB, and traded away the opportunity to get a consensus QB

        2016 – Browns (Wentz)

I would go back a bit further on this, but I don’t recall the state of each team’s QB situation nor do I recall which QB’s were considered quality prospects at draft time. For example Houston traded away a shot at Flacco in 2008 but I don’t recall how he was rated nor who was the QB in Houston.

        • BerwynBomber

I tend to agree too if he is a top two or three pick. After that it can often depend on each team’s needs.
Hence, if Darnold was a #5 this year someone could easily (I assume) work a trade with TEN as they already have Mariota. But yeah, otherwise … best way to get a guy like that is some variation of Suck for Luck.

        • Irish Sweetness

Depending on what picks we can acquire this off-season. We have a very valuable pick in our hands.

    • Irish Sweetness

That scenario has Myles garrett on the board for us! There’s a #3 pick I could get behind.

Two QBs at 1 and 2 is very possible. Garrett could be ours … to either draft or turn into two firsts a second …

So Bill Gates wasn’t lying when he said the way to control the world’s population was through a vaccine program? Hmm…

      • willbest

Look, I wouldn’t put it past Gates to be a Bond Villain, but as I said before, when child mortality declines, so do fertility rates. If you are going to lose half your children to diseases and infections you are going to have 5-6. When you can bubble wrap them for 18 years you have 1. Although, we are witnessing the negative effects of that from a psychological perspective. Take “The Cat and the Hat” for example. Do you realize that in this day and age that mom committed child abuse by leaving two kids that young alone for the day?

And of course two other great ways to lower fertility rates is easy contraception and social safety nets. Turns out the less you need kids in the future to support you the fewer kids you are inclined to have. And it doesn’t help that the federal government takes 15% of our current income reducing our ability to pay for children currently to do that.

        • Sauron’s right eyeball

Do you think killing people, lowering fertility rates is a good thing?

          • willbest

There is a difference between killing people and lowering the fertility rate. You can’t kill people that aren’t conceived.

Unless you think that Gates is somehow pimping corrupted versions of the same vaccines we have been willingly injecting our children for decades, including the sons and daughters of the global elite.

Then again I guess that might explain the anti-vax movement which contrary to people on this blog’s assertions is primary a rich person phenomenon

          • Sauron’s right eyeball

There is alarming information available that it’s not that benign will.

Do you think any government should be allowed to lower fertility rates through vaccinations without disclosing it to their citizens?

          • willbest

You mean like a Surgeon Generals warning?

WARNING: This vaccine will dramatically increase the likelihood that your child survives to adulthood free from disfigurement and other harmful maladies. This may cause you to rethink having a 4th, 5th and 6th child.

          • Sauron’s right eyeball

Not what I meant councilor. Objection Judge…speculative and unabashed grand standing.

          • willbest

There is concerns about all vaccines though. And the problem with vaccines is we don’t do double blind studies on them. So we have no idea what they are actually linked to. Add to that, every developed world has its own vaccination schedule and you realize that they are subjectively created and not scientific.

That doesn’t mean they don’t do VASTLY more good than harm (and yes they can and do result in an exceptionally small number of deaths and serious injuries).

Yes, I do think the downsides should be explained to people. As in there is a 1 in 10 million chance your child will die from this vaccine, but it will absolutely prevent him from ever getting polio and he has a 1 in 10,000 chance of dying from that and a 1 in 1000 chance of being crippled by it. That is a genuine consultation.

Whether or not you choose to have more kids as a result of having a 3 healthy children running around isn’t even up for the doctor to decide. His job is to recommend the best course of action for protecting the health of your child, not to determine your family planning strategy.

          • Sauron’s right eyeball

That’s pretty much what I’m saying as far as determining which vaccines I give my kids, I want more access to independent studies if there is such a thing.

This particular order as it relates to the green card holders is, at first glance, a head scratcher. I haven’t looked at the actual order. And its my understanding that the 7 countries choosen and enhanced screening were implemented by the Obama administration. Trump just suspended what Obama was doing for 90-120 days pending a review.

      • That Guy

The idea of singling out countries for enhanced scrutiny, at least in principle, is fine. Obviously one can discuss what “enhanced” means, but that’s not the point of this order.

Also, the idea of singling out countries for a temporary freeze pending implementation of a new vetting system is fine in principle. If the US had done that to Saudi Arabia post-9/11 until we figured out how the attackers got in and how to close the loop-hole, nobody would have complained.

The big knocks on this order are
        (1) It was done so quickly, people couldn’t prepare. There are visa holders with jobs, apartments, pets, etc. back home that were stuck in airports with no warning. Businesses also have worked out in various places that have had their business itineraries disrupted at great cost to their companies. A lot of them could have cancelled trips had they known this was coming.
        (2) On the subject – the government is denying entry to people who have had green cards for years and have given no indication they are a problem.
        (3) The choice of countries seems a bit arbitrary. Why mention 9/11 three times on the first page of the order and not ban Saudi Arabia or Egypt (both of whom were homes of some of the terrorists)?

Those are the knocks that led a NY District Court to order a stay on the executive order and may very well see it stricken down – though I suspect it will ultimately be upheld. Absent an act of Congress stating otherwise, this does appear to be within the president’s authority.

        • willbest

He used Obama’s list of countries that had supposedly been targeted for elevated vetting. He ordered the temporary freeze to determine if the enhanced vetting was good enough. I have read reports that an expedited process was to be in place for the legal permanent residents, but like everything else the government does, they F’d up. Its hard to tell if that is administrative CYA or actually true.

I agree this is going to ultimately stand, also that its PR spin is going to be ugly. I am curious why people were shouting “This is what democracy looks like”. Judge has nothing to do with democracy. They should be shouting “This is what the rule of law looks like” which I think is more important than democracy, but then I am bias.

I think a lot of what Trump has done so far has been characterized by poor execution. On the one hand, you can’t get upset now that he’s working quickly to get a wall going as it was one of his signature campaign promises, but you can get upset that he waited till after he was in office to mention the idea of paying for it with a 20% tariff. And even if you like the tariff, that’s a radical idea with all sorts of question marks that really haven’t been addressed at all by the white house team so far.

I’ve had at least 5 major developments in the debate over how big the crowd was at his inaugeration, but he hasn’t made one comment yet about how the tariff won’t just raise the cost of Mexican imports.

          • madscout12

To be fair to Trump (yeah, I know…fuck him), substantive debate rarely happens these days.

That said, the guy is a master of avoiding any substantive debate. And the media just eats it up.

          • willbest

Its being characterized by poor execution. And this particular incident objectively was, but on the whole I see more wishful thinking than anything else. I think with Trump you get to see a lot more of the process out in the open. He isn’t a politician so you aren’t getting some highly choreographed theater. Or maybe you are. He likes the controversy.

He did A-B test his way through the campaign, and he seems likely to govern that way. Float the idea of a tariff and gauge the reaction. Absolute ban, too much!, Extreme vetting, better!

The crowd size thing amuses me. The press needs to learn to let that shit go if they are going to hold him accountable for anything. Its like watching “Wag the Dog”. They look like morons chasing after and “fact checking” it. Who the F cares how many people showed up. Is there some sort of correlation between population adjusted crowd size and economic prosperity of the working and middle class?

        • willbest

You don’t have to sell me on those countries. But he used Obama’s list. I mean what are you going to do? Its like Ryan Pace having to use Emery’s draft research for the 2015 draft. Trump’s only been in office a week.

Incidentally, that doesn’t pass the smell test seeing as how plenty of Somalian refugees have committed murder in the US. I know they mostly kill themselves but they have been here 20 years so they have most certainly killed an American. Or does it have to be specifically terrorist activity? I would hope Cato made the distinction even if you didn’t.

And then there is the business of the Minnesota Men where 9 of them were either convicted or plead guilty to conspiracy to commit murder and head to join ISIS. I could probably find bad guys from those other countries easily enough. It was Obama’s list after all. If we are assuming he was competent, there has to be a good reason for it.

Lastly, Obama had a similar ban from Iraq back in 2011 I believe, and nobody went apeshit over it. Its not even permanent, its a 120 day review. And an expedited process had already been put in place to deal with green card people. But I guess in true government fashion it was incompetently done.

I read a lot of biased shit on a weekly basis, not just politics but keeping up with my field. As I said, the problem isn’t that these sites don’t produce genuine facts. Its that they exclude facts in order to push their narrative. You grab the facts from Dkos, you put them together with the faces from DC, and you end up with something that looks more like the truth. It all gets filtered through your own bias though.

The lawsuit describes a culture of sexual violence under former Baylor football coach Art Briles in which the school implemented a “show ’em a good time” policy that “used sex to sell” the football program to recruits. That included escorting underage recruits to strip clubs and arranging women to have sex with prospective players, the suit alleges.

Former assistant coach Kendal Briles — the son of the head coach — once told a Dallas-area student athlete, “Do you like white women? Because we have a lot of them at Baylor and they love football players,” according to the suit.

Investigation by lawyers identified at least 52 “acts of rape,” including five gang rapes, by 31 football players in a four-year period. At least two of the gang rapes were committed by 10 or more players at
    one time, the suit states.
