    Good as Gould.

  • Battle for 1st in the draft!

    (Part 1)

    • willbest

We have won too many games. Cleveland isn’t winning 2 before we play them, and considering how many playoff teams we have played this season I suspect we crush them on SOS. So they probably need to win 3 games before we face off.

There is a lot of competition for top 5 draft spots though
      0 wins – Browns
      1 win – 9ers
      2 wins – Giants
3 wins – Bears, Broncos, Colts
4 wins – Texans, Dolphins, Jets, Bucs

I honestly don’t see the Bears drafting in the top 5. We are better than the Browns, 9ers, Texans, Giants, and Colts and probably better than the Jets & Dolphins. I suspect the final win losses will reflect that. I don’t know what happened down in Tampa. I think Winston missed a game or two, did they have a critical D injury?

      • The first two picks are likely QB

IF the Bears get the 3rd spot, that’s the sweet spot.

They’ll have their choice of the best player of the draft.

consensus (for now) says that’s OT Williams, RB Barkley, Edge Chubb.

I also think that a lot of team will want to trade to that #3 spot for the 3rd best QB (who would be graded higher than Trub) whether that’s Josh Allen or Rudolph, so Pace can trade down for JAGs.

Browns are pretty locked at #1.

9ers with Jimmy G might win a few.

Those other teams you mentioned, just depends on how much they implode.

        More than us?

        Stay tuned…

        • willbest

If they draft an RB at #3 and he is not the next LT, I will be livid. I will take Edge though.

      • LODYSG1

So much for being better than the 49erd

      • Irish Sweetness

Maybe we’re better than the Giants. The Browns have a better run D than us.

In Eli Manning’s rookie season he completed only 48% of his throws. Only 6 TD’s and 9 interceptions.

Bears fans… Eli Manning went 1-8 as a starter his rookie year. First game he started was against the Bears and he lost 28-21. Did not win until final game of the season. Don’t worry about Trubisky, he’ll be fine——-Greg Gabriel

Yep. Eli is a good comp. Giants wanted to wait to start him but they realized he just needed to get out there.

      • fishing florida

it’s easy to get concerned over trubisky’s inaccuracy at times. but, the poor coaching, lack of imagination in offense, pathetic receiving corps, and erratic offensive line, there are points showing why he is performing poorly at times. they need great offensive coaches and some great drafts. time for pace to take the risk on some real free agents, not the mid to middling types he’s gone after before.

        • Dis Guy Trublinsky

I will be surprised if he doesn’t bring in at least a couple high end FAs this off season. It seems like the growth in the roster is moving in the right direction. Some of the rooks will take a step. Some of the middling guys will take a step like Amos had the first half of the season. Hopefully, another player or two has a Kyle Fuller type off season. He’s done the hard work of rebuilding a shit, crumbling, aging foundation of a roster, found a few nice pieces to build around and some guys that will become depth guys. Time to bring in a few key pieces and hope for another good draft.

That, and a solid coaching hire would really get things over the hump.

          • Bender McLugh

          • DanC

            BEAR DOWN!

          • fishing florida

The key to it all is trubisky developing to the fullest and that necessitates finding the coaches that can develop him. but, he needs 3 new wide receivers, a new RT, a good TE, and some competent back up on the line. is pace good enough to find the right head coach. are the bears a team attractive enough to a coach to sign the right one. josh mcdaniels intrigues me. he comes from the best and appears to be a big part of making their offense so good. harbaugh, i don’t know. he hasn’t done at well at michigan as i expected. but, so much of college success is recruiting. after those two, i just don’t know. i have been following the bears since 1959 and time is running out for me and them. i’m tired of not even bothering to watch the game replays because they were so bad and believing there is no real hope for the future.

          • I’m not usu pessimistic but

            1. What has Pace done in FA to make fans believe he won’t continue signing blue light specials?

I won’t mention all the FAs he’s skipped on for cheaper replacements (Bouye-Cooper cough) or being unable to even keep home grown talent like Alshon (doesn’t bode well for Fuller), but Pace has to date been passive in FA. Nearly Thompson esque.

Some may counter ” he was waiting for his HC and coach” but that’s va pretty SORRY MO.

The MO of a 3 win team w no depth.

I used to give Pace a pass since i thought Fox waa forced on him, but Jeff and Biggs both report that Pace was at the very least accomplice in Fox choice so he is part of the reason why talent is bolting or signing elsewhere w winners.

            2. Some of the rooks will take steps…

            Like Kwiat or Bullard?

            Bush, Carson, Hall?

That’s not even counting other players who were supposed to be core like Grasu, Langford, White,

Pox hasn’t really impressed me in the developmental dept.

One could argue even our good sophomores didn’t improve as much as we hoped like Floyd, Howard (good eyes still no hands), WH ( penalties-snaps)

I’m pretty much in the agnostic phase w Pace kinda like i was w Cutler in at the start of 2014 and 2016.

I’ll believe it when i see it

          • leftcoastdave

AJ is a perfect example when you talk of FA signings. Recognize the reality that players want to win, want to be a contender, want that ring. AJ would have had more money staying put, but he didn’t want to be on a losing team.
What FA does? Easy to talk about those that got away, but what price would it take to get them when they would rather be elsewhere?
This team with three wins is miles ahead of what was on the field in ’14 and ’15 when it comes to a young core.

          • “AJ would have had more money staying put, but he didn’t want to be on a losing team.”

And who’s responsible for that loser team?

            Fox? Who hired Fox?
            Pace? Who hired Pace?

            See what I mean.

            Trickle down economics, right?

          • leftcoastdave

Simply put. Pace started with what? Nada. The need to clean house. Now that’s done there is a great young core.

          • He had Alshon on the roster.
If Alshon believed in Pace or the direction he was taking the team, he def would’ve re-signed.

The fact he didn’t ought to give us pause.

It’s like when Pepp took off from the Tresty regime.

            Should’ve been a sign.

            We’ll see though.

          • leftcoastdave

“If Alshon believed in Pace or the direction he was taking the team, he def would’ve re-signed.”
            That presumes way too much.

AJ wanted to play with a contender.
Took a pay cut to get on the best possible team he could.

          • Michael Wills

great? Our QB cant throw for over 100 yards and we just lost to a woefully niner team. Kyle Fuller hasnt been great since he entered and our best reciever (who is injured) is Cam Meridith?? Whos left? Amos? Cleaning house takes how many seasons? In basic terms, the front office makes bad decisions. Look at Mike Glennon. Scrape Cutler for Glennon was a prolific bone head move. Yeah its Cutler, but its also Glennon. Jeffery walks, marshall walks, and its nothing new, Since Lovie left this team has been absolute trash. And theres another example. Lovie is the only coach in almost 20 years to get us into the big game, now we starve for wildcard spots. A winning record with the team. Nah fire him and hire Marc Trestman. These people get paid too much for all the bad decisions they make.

          • CanadaBear

Not to put too fine of a point on it but Langford was never considered a core guy by anyone I’ve ever talked to about the Bears. Grasu is pretty iffy in that category, too. Graus was a 3rd and Langford a 4th.

          • 4rth rounders, esp HBs, are expected to be core players.

A lot of fans had high hopes for Langford.

The only guy who was really down on him from the start was SC (though many suspected his judgment was biased by Forte pining)

It’s not uncommon for 4rth-5th rd HBs to be expected to be core players.

Obviously, didn’t pan out, but let’s play the “IF” game.

IF Langford had, we don’t draft Howard or maybe even Cohen cuz Langford had 3 down skills.

Could’ve drafted a number of impact players at their draft slots which doesn’t make us as thin today (Unrein, Leblanck. Acho, Prosinksi, Sowell, Kwiat, Bellamy…)

          • willbest

I saw Langford play and I didn’t see a reason he was going to be the one. It made sense that Pace would try and get CJ Anderson and draft howard. Although if you are going to overpay Anderson you might as well have gambled on Forte.

          • CanadaBear

I think you might be one of the few guys on here that think most 4th rders are going to be core guys. We all hope but realistically there is way less than a 50% chance a 4th rder will be a core guy.

          • willbest

He did say especially RBs. And that seems reasonably appropriate considering College RB is the most NFL ready position. The NFL considers RBs mostly plug and play at this point, and the result is top talent RBs go in the 2nd and 3rd rounds with only RBs considered special talents going in the 1st any more. It leads to RBs in the 4th being more likely to succeed.

Also, I read “core players” as being starters or solid rotation guys, and not necessarily elite talent.

          • CanadaBear

I get that but I never count on any RB drafted in the 4th or 5th round as anything but a hope.

          • Bender McLugh

            It’s nice when it happens

          • Dis Guy Trublinsky

If Langford planned out we don’t draft Howard? And who else could we have drafted? Holy shit is that a bridge to nowhere.

          • A fan hopes that a GM could draft talent.

            Could just make it easier.

Pace could’ve just drafted an impact player instead of guys like Grasu and Langford.

GMs miss, but when that’s combined with underwhelming FA and bad coaching hires, well…3 wins.

          • Dis Guy Trublinsky

So all GMs are starting from nothing in this scenario? Or does adopting the worst roster in the league matter?

          • Did you predict a 3 win yr in PS?

How many games did you think the Bears would win this yr?

          • Dis Guy Trublinsky

I expected an 8-8 season. Then The Bears lost their top 3 receiving threats, their top 3 LBs and their best/only real pass rusher. And Glennon, well…….

No team wins in that scenario. Look at the Giants. Think anybody was bitching about their talent or depth at the WR position in preseason? Does that mean their GM fucked up with regard to his receiving crew?

Shit happens in the NFL. But everything must be viewed in context.

          • Irish Sweetness

            A lot more than 3.

          • Dis Guy Trublinsky

            1. In my opinion Pace has been smart in Free Agency. Why sign a Mega Deal when the core is rotten? My hope…..he’s been trying to find guys to shore things up without breaking the bank while he builds with young players. I could be wrong. Guys like Trevathan, Hicks, Freeman (before the whole drug thing) were excellent additions. Guys like Cunningham, Amukamara are nice pieces that are either gone or become depth, etc.

2.) I think a year of seasoning and a sharp coach will be huge for guys like Trubisky, Shaheen and Cohen. White’s likely a bust. It happens. But you can’t hold injury against the GM when the kid had no injury history and was a consensus pick at his spot. I guess you can, but it’s irrational. I guess in that light DeShaun Watson is a bust right?

3.) Floyd was coming along. Howard? What more do you want from him? Last I checked he had more yards than any other back in his draft class and has broken Bears franchise records such as quickest to 100 yard games etc. Whitehair has had issues but I still believe he’s going to be a ten year starter at center.

Grasu sucks. Langford sucks. It happens. Every team in the league has busted picks.

And everybody likes to say injuries aren’t an excuse. But that’s bullshit. When you’re in a position of recreating the shit roster the Bears has, and you lose your top 3 receiving targets, and your 4th linebacker is wearing the green dot, you’re fucked. The Packers make the playoffs ever year, but one injury, and they’re shit. That’s the NFL.

To me, this is what rebuilding looks like. Next year should bear fruit. If it doesn’t, I’ll be wondering if he’s failed as well. What’s transpired the last 2 plus seasons is exactly what most reported would happen.

          • CanadaBear

I’m pretty much in the same place as you. I know it was a rhetorical question but I’d like to see Howard become a viable receiver out of the backfield. Not grinding on him but he would have a lot more success all round if he can do that.

I first thought Pace was keeping his powder dry on top tier FA’s due to the Bears being so shitty but if he doesn’t start signing better players in FA the Bears aren’t going to get much better. The McPhee signing was a pisser because he was really good until he ruined his wheel. Of course, that might be the reason Balt let him walk. A bunch of other FA’s have been meh at best or Glennon at the worst. Unlike some of the people on here I really don’t care if Fuller goes away or not. Sometimes he seems like a good CB and other times it looks like it’s his first game.

          • Bender McLugh

            THIS. yup.

  • Bender McLugh

How legit does Baker Mayfield look? Dude is going to be a good nfl QB

    • He really impressed me .
To me he seems Drew Breesish.

Just don’t know about his arm or intangibles

  • CanadaBear

Fun fact; every team the Bears have played this year (other than the first game, obviously) has had a winning record when the Beloved played them, until today!

    • willbest

Which is why we aren’t going to win the battle of the strength of schedule.

  • willbest

“Shaw has been leaking he wants to stay at Stanford. The Bears should go there, offer him $6M per & make him turn it down.”

Are we certain that Shaw would translate to the NFL? I get that he has trained under Billick and Gruden, and got the most out of Rich Gannon while in Oakland but he has been out of the NFL for 12 years. Things change

    • His name is always at the top of the college list.

But much like the Gruden chatter it’s usu just that. Chatter

I think that qb coach Flip on the Eagles will be our new HC.

      Calling it now.

      Pacebot algorithm can be predicted

      • Dis Guy Trublinsky

        Man that’s a hell of a leap.

        • willbest

He did have 1 year as offensive coordinator with the Browns in 2015 when McCown and Manziel shared QB duties with a couple appearances by Austin Davis. So he wasn’t really give much to work with, though their offense wasn’t too bad with McCown in there. I think they were averaging 20-21 ppg, its just their D was giving up 30. Of course when they switched to Manziel things got real bad.

Of note that was the year everybody called Gary Barndige Barnkowski, and Ertz has been nuts in Philly. So DeFilipo loves his pass catching TEs.

His contract is probably up this year (I think 2 years is standard for position coaches). He might be available to OC if HC is too big of a leap. You are going to need an HC that he would be willing to play under though.

Eagles denying him the right to interview for OC jobs last year probably doesn’t sit well with him. But its unlikely the Eagles would dump Frank Reich just to elevate DeFilipo

          • Yup. A big clue that Flip’s ready is Eagle’s denying.

I think we did the same with Gase before he bolted (though his resume was a bit longer).

It’s common practice for those ready to become HC.

          • willbest

Gase was only here 1 year. We didn’t deny him anything.

          • Are you sure?

I remember him being denied. Maybe it was when he was with the Broncos.

Don’t recall if Chico was denied cuz Lovie was jealous of him and wanted him gone.

        • It’s in Pacebot’s nature.

Trading up for a QB with 13 starts (see handle) was a hell of a leap too.

          That’s the way he rolls.

Calling it now, esp if the Eagle’s go all the way.

  • Things I’m going to be looking for today.

    1. The Run D.

The #1 indicator of a quitters is them whiffing on tackles. They don’t want to stick their helmet in there cuz they’re fantasizing about Maui already.

This happened last yr, and I said then that they quit. Everyone (except MB) excused it, “Nah, they’re just injured”

Not what I saw. I saw guys coming in weak. Soft. Slow. Arms. Bad Angles. Little hustle or backside pursuit.

Hyde is a decent back, but if he’s ripping off chunks while defenders are flailing about and just meandering to the huddle, well…

    2. Penalties.

Much like the run D, another sign of quitters.

This means they really have mailed it in knowing Fox is a chump and wont’ do shit about it.

I’ll be focused on Prince and that Oline who seem to always commit them at the worst times.

    3. Trub bounce back.

The YUGE question was if he has the “IT” factor like Watson.

Trub undoubtedly suffered his worst game of the yr.

Does he have the mental fortitude, poise and competitiveness to bounce back?

    4. On the flip side, Jimmy G.

If he goes off and Trub struggles, A LOT of folks are gonna start getting the pitch forks ready for Pace.

Trading up for a Qb with 13 starts is one thing.

Passing on a potential hometown franchise QB for a 2nd and 3rd (?) is quite another.

    5. Howard.

The ONE guy I know won’t quit is Howard. I’m very curious how he responds to rushing for 7 yds.

Granted, he can only go as far at that under performing Oline, but I think he comes out angry and goes for 150+

    ….

    Two outcomes, really.

    1. They come out with pride at home after getting SPANKED and roll them in spite of Weekend at Bernies.

    2. They keep it kinda close, but their loser mentality and inept coaching find a way to choke it away, again, in the second half.

    Hope it’s #1.

    • CanadaBear

Timing is everything. BB wanted a 1 and 2 for JG before the draft. Glad Pace didn’t bite. After that ship sailed BB lowered his asking price. No way Pace is giving up a 2 after drafting MT.

      • Yeah, there’s gonna be a lot of IFs though, esp those who didn’t want Trub to start (see fans booing him at Bull’s game)

The what if game will go something like

‘Well, could’ve drafted Thomas, stayed put…traded for Jimmy G in-season, then if Jimmy G didn’t do well, go for Rudolph or Mayfield in ’18. with a new coaching staff”

        • CanadaBear

I agree but that what if game is nonsense. Never play that shit. It’s like those do-over draft articles. Never read those suckers either. Not grinding on ya, just think that revisionist history stuff is hooey.

    • Watching Alf blow up on ur bench doesn’t help!

    • willbest

I wasn’t exactly excited last week, but given our tendency to play playoff teams tough, I was rather curious. Today its more about determining how much of the team has quit on Fox.

  • willbest

Just on G, I would caution everybody reading into his performance today if he comes out and lights us up for 280 yards and 3 Tds. It is, after all, a courteously we provide new QBs. See how he does against titans, jags, and rams. That will be more accurate in determining if Pace should have traded away the farm for him instead of drafting Trubisky.

Always weird to me when Cunningham is out – he’s our best blitz picker-upper. LeBlank out worries me, hope the coaches didn’t give up on him.

LeBlanc and Sitton activated. Amos, Bush Callhan, Grasu, Houston-Carson, not so much.

    • I’m not sure we’ve won a game without Callahan.

      • CanadaBear

I’m guessing you’re right. It’s been so nuts this year I have no idea. LeBlanc is OK for now (like the Bears have a choice at this point) but they definitely miss Callahan. If the Beloved lose today they might as well lose out for the season. If they lose today I think Foxy gets launched. Probably wishful thinking!

Two on my radar are Bullock and Hall.
Bullock had that glute strain which is like a high hammy. Seemed to play well last week and if he is in the rotation that bodes well for a fresh D line.
Hall as a rookie was a tweener. Got great length and speed and now playing SS, although I think he would be a better FS. We shall see what he gets done after being out so long and presumably building strength.

    No pass rush – check
    Penalties – check

    • BearDown100393

Your 1st impression of Jimmy G is?

      • EnderWiggin

Bears make him look like Montana.

      • Already calling his own audibles.

        • BearDown100393

Noticed that also. I think that play was completed also.

        • willbest

          it is his 4th year

  • Great recognition by #93 on that screen.

  • Fans clapping for Gould.

Think that was the same as booing Barth.

    • BearDown100393

      Robbie earned that.

  • chitownproud85

Grats Robbie, thanks for the memories! Good as fucking Gould. Serious kick in the nuts seeing him boot one at Soldier Field wearing different colors. Fucking life, man

    • BearDown100393

Never know about the future. Kickers are somewhat nomadic. Always a possibility he may return.

  • Cubsnlinux

    Run… Run…Pass..something’s never change

  • Cubsnlinux

WTF? Trubisky takes sacks like they are on a sale

  • BearDown100393

Just let Mitch play please. This formula is going to get him killed.

    • Sactowns#1

What makes you think he can make plays? Have you seen something we haven’t?

      • BearDown100393

Oh I know I seem to complain a lot about everything. But what do we really know (honestly) what he can or cannot do on the field with this formulaic scheme?

  • FresnoBear88

Run, run, pass. My kids draw up better plays.

  • Cubsnlinux

Can they fire Loggains after today please?

    • BearDown100393

      Is it really him though?

      • Cubsnlinux

Not impressed with Trubisky either. But he is a rookie and can improve.

  • Bellamy looked open on his break to me.

Trub just held it too long and ate the sack.

    • Sactowns#1

Seems to be his #1 play.

  • BearDown100393

“I feel like John Fox is now coaching out of spite.”

    He might be.

He has to know he is finished in Chicago.

  • BearDown100393

That was a great play by Kyle.

    Extra effort.

    Better not be reversed.

    • BerwynBomber

Can’t be. And yeah, it was tremendous.

      • BearDown100393

        It was reviewed.

  • BerwynBomber

    WHAT a play by Fuller.

  • Sactowns#1

Run run pass seems to be the same play calling by the Niners.

    • BearDown100393

      Good!

    • EnderWiggin

It is my favorite kind of football to watch. 1950s style. Unfortunately, as much as I love to see the style work, most of those coaches are now dead and its a thing of the past for a reason. Give credit to Fox for sticking to it – But take away all of the credit for attempting to call anything offensively, because he sucks.

  • BearDown100393

    Well there you go.

    Shotgun. Completion.

    1st down.

  • BuddhaJoe

Is it just me or is the guy with the lisp annoying as fuck?

    • BearDown100393

      Not just you.

      And yes.

  • Cubsnlinux

Trubisky is really testing my confidence every week

  • Foster just made Simms his prison bitch

  • BuddhaJoe

That throw was a fucking laser.

    • BearDown100393

Great throw. And great completion by Wright who should be targeted more.

    • Trub seems to excel when he throws on rhythm.

3 step throw, 3 step throw.

It’s when his first read is gone that he gets in trouble.

  • willbest

    what was that?

    • BearDown100393

      A wasted down.

  • Cubsnlinux

    WTF was that?

  • Cubsnlinux

    Loggains hates the end zone

  • willbest

so drew brees has delivery manager but not uber or lyft

  • willbest

    nice

  • BearDown100393

    Nice series.

  • willbest

he looked him the whole way though

    • BearDown100393

      Yes.

Still will gladly take the 7 and lead.

    • BerwynBomber

Yup. Single read. But hey it worked. And his one horrific pass was on a penalty. Not a bad start.

      • Yeah, don’t mind the single read.

That’s essentially what a read-option is, which is why it’s popular in college and for rooks.

Should’ve done more of that since the start.

        Oh well.

        Looked good.

    • Like I said below, Trub looks good when he throws in rhythm to his first read.

It’s when he gets to his 2nd read when it gets really iffy with him.

Sacks, sailed passes, late passes, etc.

  • I think that’s the first time all yr the Bears went trips.

  • willbest

    why is POD doing KOs?

    • BearDown100393

Something about Santos being broken in slowly……..

  • Sactowns#1

Who are the starting WR’s next year? Is Inman one of them?

    • willbest

i think he is on the last year of his contract

    • BearDown100393

If he keeps making completions like that sure why not?

    • BerwynBomber

He’s a three I would guess unless he outperforms Cam.

    • Inman will stay.

      The rest will be gone.

      Maybe Bellamy sticks for specials.

And White will get a crack simply due to his draft status.

  • BuddhaJoe

Great now McPhee is out too. Hicks and Tre will have to do everything.

    • BearDown100393

McPhee really has done little for two seasons.

      • BuddhaJoe

Yeah but he was all that was left.

        • BearDown100393

          Sad.

  • BerwynBomber

JimmyG has looked sharp. His INT involved no fault of his own.

  • FresnoBear88

I wish we had gotten Jimmy G

  • Do the Bears know that they have to cover the middle?

Same as last week. and week before and wek before

  • Sactowns#1

Bears D making backup AB’s look like superstars.

  • BearDown100393

    Kyle is gaming today.

    • willbest

kyle is playing for 8-10 mil a year and 20 guaranteed

      • BearDown100393

Keeps playing like this and he will get his $.

      • That would be out of Pace’s billion dollar budget.

      • BuddhaJoe

Give it to him. Too many holes to let him walk.

    • BerwynBomber

Playing like an All-Pro. He’ll be costly this off-season.

  • BerwynBomber

    Stone hands.

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

      no inaccurate passer.

    • BearDown100393

      Throw a bit off target.
      Still should have been caught.

  • BearDown100393

Jordan has to work on his hands this off season. UPS should be delivering those jugs machines to his home now.

  • BuddhaJoe

Man I love Howard but you cant throw to him.

  • willbest

    ugly. really? nobody was open?

    • BuddhaJoe

      With these guys? Probably not.

  • That was a 35 yd penalty.

    Good job, Leno.

  • BearDown100393

    Wasted challenge. Sorry.

  • willbest

    fox is an idiot

  • BerwynBomber

    My guess?
Fox “wins” this challenge but Bisky is still short.

    • willbest

they move it back 2 yards

      • BerwynBomber

        LOL

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

my guess is a TO because of an INT. #NFLREPLAY

  • BearDown100393

    “Of the big line”

    Geezus.

  • They should go for it if they don’t move it back.

    We’re a run team, right?

    can’t get 1 yd?

    Do a read-option here.

Make the 9ers commit to Howard or Trub.

    • BerwynBomber

I won’t get on Fox there for his conservative impulses.

It’s virtually guaranteed points if you don’t make it.

    • willbest

when we aren’t down 24 points in the 4th? do you know who our HC is?

    • BuddhaJoe

Nah, it’s only the 2nd and they have the lead for now.

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Why did we lose a timeout on the challenge? did they not move the ball closer to the 1st down marker? would that not be successful challenge of the spot?

    • BearDown100393

      Good question

    • BuddhaJoe

      Hochuli is why?

    • BerwynBomber

Did Hochuli say that or the announcer? I heard the announcer say that. Missed what Hochuli said.

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

    ACL ALERT!!!

  • willbest

and he didn’t tear his acl this tume

  • BearDown100393

    Don’t hurt yourself Lamarr.

  • BuddhaJoe

    Dont celebrate Lamar!

  • How many passes completed over the middle will the Bears allow

    • EnderWiggin

      All?

  • willbest

    jesus

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

    JESUS! no flag.

  • willbest

    that was almost a disaster

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

so much for picking a lane and just going

  • BearDown100393

Great effort by Cohen but that was terrible S/T coverage by the 49ers.

  • BuddhaJoe

    Fuck me that was nuts.

  • FresnoBear88

This guys lisp is fuckin killing me

    • BearDown100393

      You mean slisssssssssssssp

    • BerwynBomber

Who the fuck is this guy?

  • willbest

so he ran 120 yards or so on that

  • lol Cohen!

100 yd return if u include the 30 yds back!

    • BearDown100393

      Hester took notes.

  • Reminded me of Madden calling Favre plays

“No no no…I mean, go go go…

    • EnderWiggin

That dude was hilarious. He’s sucked all day, but that was good.

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

how was there no holding or block in the back flag on that return.. I did not see any but it is the NFL and refs always throw flags on those types of returns

    • RenoBear

It was nuts… everybody stayed to the side or in front of them from what I saw… crazy

  • BerwynBomber

And here I was wondering if Cohen was regressing last week. Wow.

    • BearDown100393

Oddly he may have been running for his job after committing to all that lost yardage before turning back up field.

      It worked out. But man…..

      • willbest

he brought all the 9ers down to the bears 20, right where he wanted them

        • BearDown100393

Yup just as it was drawn up!

  • Viva

    COHEN!!!

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

shit Chicago has a coach on the team shorter than Cohen!

  • BearDown100393

Roger Goodell looks at all those cleats and remorses over lost opportunity to lay down massive fines.

  • BearDown100393

    Give me Romo.

  • willbest

do we not like to cover that spot on the field?

    • BearDown100393

      No.

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

can’t be too easy on them.

  • BuddhaJoe

Bears have been shreddes in the middle longer than I can remember.

    • BearDown100393

      #54

  • BearDown100393

    “But…. but onnnnnnccccssssse again…. I said… I said…. he said…. he said…..hamburgers”

    JFC.

    Cut the mic.

  • willbest

we are getting hosed on TOP

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky

I’ll take the special teams TD responsible for it every single time.

  • BuddhaJoe

My wife’s at work so I can’t give her shit about the Lions. Lost oppurtunity.

  • willbest

seems silly to keep the time for SF

  • Let’s see if Cuck Fox calls a TO after this play to give Trub a few plays before halftime.

  • BearDown100393

    False start after a timeout.

    Wow.

  • BearDown100393

That was not even close despite the announcer’s hype.

  • willbest

looking for ward to the kneel down to end the half

  • BuddhaJoe

100 bucks says that cuck Fox kneels instead of taking a shot.

    • BearDown100393

      Might as well.

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky

      Check payable to Johnnywad please

      • BuddhaJoe

Judges ruled that was half assed so it’s a push, sorry.

        • Dis Guy Trublinsky

          Worth a shot

  • Malice Halice

What’s goin on with Howard? Where’s momentum? I can’t see the game unfortunately. But we’re up

    • BuddhaJoe

They know when it’s coming, play calling is too obvious.

  • Cubsnlinux

What happened to our O Line? Trubisky consistently has no time to throw

    • Irish Sweetness

      When was it good?

  • FresnoBear88

    Compton whiffed

  • Still can’t pin them inside the 10 even from 30 yds out Odonnell

  • Trub continues to look great when it’s his first read.
    Turrible when it’s not.

  • Thought that was a decent drive even though they didn’t score.

I liked that direct Howard snap.

The 9ers were totally confused by it. No one was even covering Trub.

If Howard could throw, might be a nice trick play. Quick screen to Trub.

    Why not?

  • BearDown100393

    Goodwin shreddin’

  • Over the middle.

    Surprise.

That was a blitz too, just for u Irish.

  • RRH is a BIG man.

Wanting to see if him and Bullard can get things going.

  • wreckinball

    Getting gashed by the Niners
    Won’t win another game

  • Over the middle shot game.

  • BearDown100393

I really wonder what the Bears actually do during half-time?

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

      hypnosis sessions to help relax.

    • WP4Life

      Eat organge slices

    • Post cat memes

    • BuddhaJoe

Given how lethargic they are coming out, I’d guess opium.

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

so Hochuli needs glasses to look at replays but not on the field.

    • BearDown100393

Maybe Fox can borrow his glasses before throwing the red flag.

  • BearDown100393

Robbie is going to kick a GWer.

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

This is the only way it is a revenge game for Gould. If he beats us all by himself, no TDs scored.

    • willbest

      he is working on it

    • It would be funny if he fake FG and throws for TD, having one more than Trub

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

then follows it up with a successful onside kick.

  • Waffle has Jimmy G, Cohen and Gould going in FF against Shady, but I think he’s got Gould on his bench.

  • On a positive note, at least this D looks properly aligned with Tre.

No WTF plays on D (yet)

    They gotta be tired though.

  • BuddhaJoe

    They’re gonna lose this game.

    • willbest

if they do, It will drive ticket prices down further for the browns game and i might take my boys

  • Cubsnlinux

Trubisky has zero.. zero pocket presence. He is either confused or completely oblivious to what’s going on around him

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

based on a guy coming off the edge untouched?

      • Cubsnlinux

Not just that one play. He seems doomed if he doesn’t throw from his first read.

    • Dave Fauxb

      He needs to find Jesus

      • Cubsnlinux

He should find Daryl or Negan. Jesus is boring.

        • EnderWiggin

I’m sick of Negan, I hope he dies tonight.

          • Cubsnlinux

I am actually sick of Rick. He turned into John Fox with his conservative play calling.

          • EnderWiggin

Oh, Rick’ll be back. He always comes back.

          • Irish Sweetness

            CORL!!!!!

        • BuddhaJoe

Hey Jesus is one of my favs, him amd Morgan.

          • Cubsnlinux

            I don’t like his schtick.

          • Irish Sweetness

Jesus is a pussy who is going to get them all killed.

      • Warner is retired.

      • Irish Sweetness

        We all do!

  • wreckinball

    There’s your WTF play

  • Sactowns#1

Someone needs to work with Trubisky … timer in hand and air horn after 3 seconds. MAKE READS!

  • Totally blown pass pro by Leno who had to block two guys.

No pocket presence by Trub to step up in the pocket sensing the rush.

Something they’ve talked about ad nauseum

    • willbest

can you blow coverage if you got two guys to block?

      • If he blocked the wrong guy.

If not, obviously on someone else.

But I’m guessing LTs are taught to block the outside guy.

    • Cubsnlinux

Yeah. I am getting worried about Trubisky with each week. The kid has shown nothing.

    • Joecashflow

Leno was held on the play and couldn’t take outside. Refs missed.

  • BearDown100393

“John Fox may be fired tomorrow. If this game finishes how it’s progressing I can’t imagine another outcome.”

    Should he be?

    Yes.

    Will he be?

    No.

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky

Not sure about that. They lose this one, I could see a chance of it.

  • beninnorcal

Jimmy G is looking way better than Mitch, I’m afraid.

    • BearDown100393

In all fairness, shouldn’t he be?

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

4rth year i would hope so.

      • BearDown100393

Agreed. This guy is hardly a rookie.

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

throw in learning from Belicheck and Brady, and not having Fox as a coach.

          • BearDown100393

Again agree. That has to definitely help.

    • Cubsnlinux

He is not a Virgin like Trubisky.

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky

Four years with Belichick and Brady oughta do that.

  • EnderWiggin

I can see it now. Gould 15 – Bears 14

  • Santos’ groin might be hurt.

    Like the Bear’s collective groin

  • beninnorcal

Why can’t our defense get off the field?

  • Over the middle. Take a shot!

  • Cubsnlinux

Bears will lose and Fox will be the HC against the Browns

    • BearDown100393

      Yes.

  • BearDown100393

The Bears looked reasonable on both sides of the football for the 1st half. After half-time, just appear deadass.

    Why?

    • madscout12

John Fox. Passed out the ludes at HT.

  • Slant. Post. Cross.
    Repeat.

  • wreckinball

    3rd and 12
    CAn they stop them

  • wreckinball

    A miracle

  • wow. The 9ers really don’t want to win.

    A draw on 3rd and 12?

  • BearDown100393

    This is getting wiped out.

  • willbest

    bummer

  • They tried over the middle again. Almost got it.

  • Cubsnlinux

    Coming back..

  • wreckinball

    Found another Hester

  • willbest

fucking harvard grads should know better

    • Cubsnlinux

Rarely those returns happen without a illegal block in back

      • willbest

and it should be the player from east-west Appalachian State community college

        • Cubsnlinux

That was a dumb block also. Cohen was way past that point.

    • madscout12

None of these fucking guys seem to. Why is this hard? Don’t push a guy if you see his back. Don’t grab a dude’s arm or jersey.

  • BuddhaJoe

I swear these penalties are just the league trying to eliminate returns. It reeks of bullshit and they never actually replay them so people can see.

    • BearDown100393

Don’t necessarily disagree but it is a rule that should be known.

  • Soul sucking penalties are a Fox staple.

    • BearDown100393

It was an issue with Trestman also.

  • willbest

    awful

  • BearDown100393

Full credit to Cohen for his breakout game.

    Senseless block in the back.

  • Cubsnlinux

    Holy Cohen!

  • willbest

cohen wants the win at least

  • Cubsnlinux

Cohen wants to win. He won’t get another snap.

  • wreckinball

    Better than Hester
He can do more than just return

    • BearDown100393

      It is possible.

  • BuddhaJoe

Jesus again with the run in the middle on 1st.

  • BearDown100393

Why throw behind the 1st down markers?

  • willbest

lions are c lawing their way back

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky

I see what you did there

  • Cubsnlinux

    Is Shaheen dead?

    • beninnorcal

Just had the exact same thought

    • BearDown100393

      Sushi’d

  • BuddhaJoe

Goddamit again with the obvious run on 1st.

    • madscout12

Love how the linebackers are just creeping up to the LOS prior to the play. Just why?

  • willbest

    dont run that again

    • WH whiffed on his block

      • willbest

as they pointed out, it was asking a lot of a heavy

      • BuddhaJoe

Can’t expect him to outrun Reid though.

    • madscout12

That’s a play that looks like it should work. Looks complicated to execute and practice. Great for a team that has competence elsewhere on the offense.

  • 9ers had literally 6 defenders on the LOS

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

    woohoo inside the 10!

  • BearDown100393

2 point lead. Clock ticking. 49ers on the 8.

    Robbie grinning.

    • willbest

      yeah, revenge game materializes

  • wreckinball

Thanks for the dumb fair catch

    • willbest

we were there in time though

      • Cubsnlinux

He should have let it bounce. Gave too much credit to our specials

  • Cubsnlinux

I think we might have seen O’Donnell attempt a field goal there if the Bears got closer

    • Announcers keep saying they haven’t seen Santos kick on the sideline.

His groin might be fucked again

      • willbest

bears doctors need to be fired

        • Cubsnlinux

Who on the Bears don’t need to be fired? Is there one good functional area in this franchise?

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

the guys that painted the lines on the field. They seem to be straight.

          • willbest

i never had a problem with the beer vendors

  • Cubsnlinux

    Trevathan is hurt now

    • BearDown100393

      Dead calf.

  • willbest

well thats going to make it easier for G to get his GWD and 4QC

  • Glad Tre is ok, but that D is sucking wind.

    • beninnorcal

Well, they have played basically the whole game

  • BuddhaJoe

In the words of the sage Bender Rodriguez, “Yup, we’re boned”.

  • Cubsnlinux

Yes!! Looks like Bears are going to win the tank bowl by losing to Niners this week.

    • BearDown100393

Playing for jobs on the field.

  • willbest

if GB wins this, i am going to hate fox more for the TB loss

  • RenoBear

Yep. Gould 15- Bears 14… Sad sad sad

  • We all know how this is going to end.

    • BearDown100393

      Certainly shaping up that way.

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Gould is going to shank the GW!

      • BearDown100393

        Do you believe that?

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

i would bet my right testicle.

          • BearDown100393

I’m sorry it was extracted pre-game.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

it was extracted 15 years ago because of cancer, so I don’t mind betting it.

  • wreckinball

    Game over

  • BearDown100393

I might need a double dose of those meds taken pre-game.

  • willbest

because why would they throw it there, i mean its not like they know we wont cover it

  • Cubsnlinux

Ha ha ha.. what a bunch of losers!

  • Cubsnlinux

Now all Niners need to do is eat the clock and kick a FG

  • beninnorcal

Jimmy G had a nice first game, looks good. They will win off Robbie’s foot, seems appropriate.

  • KentuckyBearsFan

oh god….the Bears are Cleveland Browns bad now.

A rebuild is going to take at least three years.

    • wreckinball

      They’ll lose to them too

    • It’s beend 3 yrs.

      You mean, 3 more?

      • BearDown100393

Wasn’t it 3 years before these 3 years?

      • KentuckyBearsFan

3 more. Or maybe 3 more Three-Year-Plans with the way things are going.

This team is going to kick ass in 2026.

  • Over the middle.

That looked like LeBlanc got smoked.

  • RenoBear

Hahahahahahahaha….. of course that happened… thank god I checked out of our sad coaching staff, sad play calling and non existent offensive play calling innovation. As soon as Cohen scored the play call By went into not-lose mode and here we are

  • willbest

did the offense do anything today? 7 points off a TO on a short field and cohen got the others

  • Cubsnlinux

Why would anyone want to spend time, effort and money to go see this mess at Soldier Field instead of torturing themselves watching on TV?

    • BearDown100393

      Fresh air.

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Might be the first chance to go to a game, cuz they could afford the cheap tickets.

  • willbest

oh and we dont have a kicker so we got to go the whole fucking field

  • willbest

they should give up the TD

    • Cubsnlinux

Yes. I was just about to type that. The only way Bears could come close. Let them score quickly. Bears can’t even lose properly

  • RenoBear

This announcer is a fucking idiot. Hyde didn’t give him self up, he slipped

  • FresnoBear88

The irony Gould comes back to Chicago and wins just off his leg….

  • willbest

should have given up the TD, it is the only way to win this without a kicker

    • madscout12

      What happened to Santos?

      • willbest

no idea but he hasn’t kicked anything all game

        • madscout12

          Not even PATs?

          • BearDown100393

            Yeah he has.

      • BearDown100393

        Bears refuse to comment.

    • lol you think Fox is that smart?

    • wreckinball

      Agree
      But fox is an idiot

  • BearDown100393

I really do not understand how this is not soul crushing to long time Bears fans. I hate this.

  • BuddhaJoe

Ballgame. They lost to the fucking 1-10 Ni ers. Burn it down.

  • haha.

    PERFECT.

Gould should run it in for a TD.

  • RenoBear

Omg let them fuckng score and get the damn ball back. This is so fucking dumb

    • madscout12

      Fox. Why are we surprised?

      • RenoBear

Fuck man he should’ve called a timeout when they got the first down with 2:07 left to conserve more clock

        • madscout12

          “I was a math major in college…I wasn’t…but ah.”

          – John Fox

  • willbest

    fucking stupid

  • BearDown100393

This is Hobo’s final stand: Urinating on Bears fans with lack of clock management and common sense.

    • madscout12

He does get to talk about how we were in it to the end and just came up short…his measure of success.

      • BearDown100393

        Crushing.

  • BearDown100393

We all knew this would happen. Deep down.

  • Juan Stone

Too bad I din’t l bet a bag of Big Al’s onion rings the Bears would once again choke?

  • BearDown100393

    Goodbye Right Testicle…….

  • willbest

it should be 19-14 with 1:36 and 3 TOs. fuck fox

  • Cubsnlinux

Wow what do you expect from this bunch of no clue losers. Dumb..dumb..dumb

  • KentuckyBearsFan

    Karma’s a bitch.

  • We all knew how this was going to end when Jimmy G got the ball at the 10 with 4 mins left.

  • Sactowns#1

So when can we start talking about getting rid of Pace?

    • Cubsnlinux

      Now?

    • madscout12

After he picks a coaching staff and they fail in year 2.

      • Sactowns#1

So we are stuck with ineptitude for at least two more years?

        • BearDown100393

          At least.

    • BearDown100393

      Already have.

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky

He gets next year with a new coach and his QB.

I ended up with a bottle of Loch Lomond Inchmurrin 12. Ever had it?

Turns out the guy likes Scotch more than Bourbon.

  • BearDown100393

Congratulations to Robbie Gould. May this game be Hobo’s final one.

  • RenoBear

Fox honestly gave us ZERO CHANCE to win this game. Fox does less than nothing for this team. Please please fire fucking Hobo

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky

I think it could happen tomorrow. 50/50 in my mind. That was shit and it’s getting worse by the week.

      • Sactowns#1

Trubisky missed a LOT of opportunities in that game. The future looks bleak.

        • Dis Guy Trublinsky

God I hope not. I hope it’s inexperience and coaching. If it’s not, we’re three years in the red.

  • Viva

    Dave Toub for HC.

    • BearDown100393

Garrett won’t be going anyway so why not. Go get Toub if he is willing to return to work for the McCaskeys.

      • Dave Fauxb

        Never!

        • BearDown100393

          You are a smart man.

  • underway

    Mickey Mouse bullshit.

  • FresnoBear88

Lmao we can’t even ladderal the dam ball right! I’m fucking losing my mind with this team.

    • KentuckyBearsFan

That actually would have been a half decent pass by a non-quarterback by Cohen….if the play had been turned 90 degrees.

  • BuddhaJoe

Fire em all. Pace couldn’t build a team to beat THAT? Done.

    • BearDown100393

I was killed here for that suggestion.

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

no you were killed for being a whiny bitch for a couple weeks.

        • BearDown100393

No worries, I feel dead now. I don’t even care enough anymore to bitch about this bullshit.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

congratulations you have completed the first stage. acceptance.

          • BearDown100393

Going outside to assemble Christmas decorations. No anger anymore. No frustration. Lobotomized. Maybe adopt a stray dog afterward.

          • Dis Guy Trublinsky
  • Malice Halice

Ha! This team is such ass! Still love em. Aiming for a higher pick obviously . Howard shit the bed on FF.

  • FresnoBear88

    Sell the team!

  • BearDown100393

Well it is too nice of a day out there to sit and commiserate over the demise of a proud franchise. I feel empty.

  • Cubsnlinux

Nothing’s working but I think Pace set the Bears back by at least 3 years by picking Trubisky. The kid doesn’t have “It”.

    • willbest

      see Goff

      • Irish Sweetness

Goff sucks. He has a great OL.

    • That Guy

And your crystal ball is perfect? You can see into the future? You can make a judgement about a kid after he’s played 8 games in an offense built to retard his development with 0 pro-caliber wideouts?

      Yeah, you’re a fucking clairvoyant.

      • wreckinball

How can you tell with that game plan

  • willbest

I bet letting the TD happen the second the FG was a chipshot didn’t even occur to Fox.

  • EnderWiggin

    Data thread is up.

  • underway

Robbie singlehandedly beat us… lmao…. if that don’t say FU. I’m not sure what does.

    • KentuckyBearsFan

      singlelegedly?

  • BearDown100393

“Robbie Gould making 5 field goals today actually meant something to people? Bears just lost allowing 15 points.”

Because it is so Bears to having it occur.

Will not hate on Gould. He was gold today.

    • wreckinball

Never should have let him go

      • BearDown100393

Always try to bring him back if wanted.

        • Michael Wills

Nah thats not bears fashion. We get rid of semi decent to excellent players. Brady wouldnt last 5 minutes with us

  • Joecashflow

Never saw a biscuit thrown down the field. Not once.

  • Cubsnlinux

I think the Bears should fire both Pace and Fox at this point. Pace will be a lame duck GM and don’t see any good coming out of keeping him. No improvement under Pace. How can anyone justify keeping Pace? What has he done?

    • That Guy

Re-built the defense, drafted the QB of the future, re-tooled a team that had 0 talent on the defensive side of the ball.

And how are you defining “lame duck”? Because he isn’t on his 2nd contract? EVERYONE in the NFL is a lame duck, unless they just signed an extension.

      • Michael Wills

I have to agree with Cubs. The defense while still better than last year, is horrid. Jimmy G putting up almost 300 yards tells a long story. This is not Tom Brady we’re talking about. 110 yards rushing, 8 yard pass average… FROM THE NINERS. Amukamura is a seasoned vet, Fuller has a few years under his belt, and everyone else aside from Amos has multiple years in. Its time to change if you want change. More and more, im not so convinced on Trubisky. You need to be able to throw for 100 yards a game in the NFL. Not sure if he cant or its bad play calling, which then reverts back to the coaching staff. Now there is 0 talent on the offensive side of the ball, 5% on the defense. We’ll be in the playoffs around 2026 season

  • Michael Wills

Its been real hard to be a bears fan. and they dont care

  • wreckinball

    Just open up the O
So what if he makes mistakes
This is actually not good experience since realistically this is not an NFL offense

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

    Fales sighting in Miami???
