Boomer on Showtime Inside the NFL is laying the Cowboys loss on Old Sauce.

I hate Simms but I respect Boomer’s opinions. Boomer showed they went soft zone, they stayed soft zone even coming out in the 3rd. When Rodgers opens up the 3rd with a march to make it 28-13, then Old Sauce starts blitzing. And it WORKS.

Boomer said that old False Face is going to lay this one on Old Sauce.

BMarsh is there, acting a damn fool. Michael Irvin skipped this week because he didn’t want to take his beat down. Jesus Christ. Irvin can’t host the show that pays him because he doesn’t want to hear it about his Boys? Fuck. This world we live in, so many pussies and spoiled children.

    • CanadaBear

Irvin always seemed like such a classy guy. Shocking! I’m pretty sure Old Sauce got more out of that D than most DC’s could.

      • The name is GP

Also watching the All-22 on the show, man Prescott had guys WIDE open in the 1st half and just did not make the reads. Moment was too big for the rook but they did not go Romo.

The Pack’s shit secondary and Falcons will learn from the blitz, they will bring weak side corners at Rodgers early. Falcons got this.

        • CanadaBear

Hopefully they can blitz the “A” gap and put Erin on his back numerous times. Gonna be a fun game to watch (esp if the Dirty Birds win).

        • Waffle

They will send Keanu Neal to destroy Rodgers. It’s gonna hurt.

    • MB30SD

Dude, fuck Berman. That guy doesn’t know shit… He’s a Fucking paid clown in a suit.

        • Waffle

dude, a little doubt is starting to creep into my head. I can’t, for the life of me, figure out if the Falcons are real. I watched them take facepunches and still dominate the Seahawks. I want to believe it but something about them makes me think the passrush won’t show up.

          • Malice Halice

Yep. Mf love to give Rodgers 10 sec to throw da ball on a 3rd down. Can someone find out how much time this man has had this year on 3rd down pass attempts? Dis guy could be 3rd n 30 on da 30 with 30 secs left and still find a way to score.

          • Sauron’s right eyeball

      • Sauron’s right eyeball

  • Waffle

just doubled down the bet on the Pats. For some reason i think Bennett is going to have a sick game along with Edelman.

  • beninnorcal

    Fuck the Packers.

    • Waffle

i hesitate to put a ton of money on the Falcons because it just hasn’t happened for them in past years no matter how many yards Ryan passes for in the reg season. This looks like a different team though because the D has teeth this year. Keanu Neal, who I was secretly hoping for, is killing people. Beasley, who i thought we were going to get, is killing it. The inside backers are doing well and the run game is actually quite effective. Shit, the more i think about it the more i think about doubling down on that Falcons bet but deep down inside I feel like the Packers are going to bring their A game and Ryan will not.

I have several hours to decide.

      • beninnorcal

I don’t have a great feeling about Atl, based on their history mostly. But maybe it’s their year. Hoping it is anyway.

        • Waffle

I really think this may be the year but at no time have i ever found myself surprised when they fail.

          • Johnnywad

Betting heavy with that hitch in your gut is when it really gets interesting. High highs and low lows.

          • Waffle

i’m playing with house money at this point so I put a chunk on the Pats/Atl parlay and a chunk just on the Pats.

I will never bet the spread or over/under as long as I live. It’s always the money line.

My wife thought i was crazy and that it was a waste of money until she saw that i won enough this year to almost match the match amount my employer put in my 401K.

“DaBearsBlog @dabearsblog And who can forget when The Bushwhackers claimed to be both Cubs AND White Sox fans?”

Actually Obama played that card last week when he had the Cubs at the WH. Said something like there is “no bigger Cubs supporter among White Sox fans”, which is akin to saying there is no bigger Green Bay supporter among Bears fans.

Most disappointing day in his presidency. He should have left the Koch-like Ricketts-led Cubs for Trump to celebrate.

    • BerwynBomber

Crazy. Then again, Romo busted his ribs and punctured a lung a few years ago and didn’t miss a game.

Anyway, not gonna matter. Despite Rodgers unbelievable run, this game will come down to ATL making mincemeat of that Cheese D.

      • Waffle

Rodgers will keep it respectable but I think the game will start to get away from them in the late 3rd quarter.

    • willbest

  • BearDown100393

The Bears will win the NFC North this season. The Packers defense is atrocious. The offense is purely Rodgers with occasional standout completions from either Cook or Nelson. There is no running game. Grimus is clueless. This is their high water mark. Next up will be drowning.

    • madscout12

Slow down there…our house was burning this year. Let’s fix that first before crowning ourselves. Suppose Detroit was to get a running game this offseason. They’d be my pick for next year if that were the case.

      • BearDown100393

We already have a superior running game. I believe in Fangio and the younger guys on defense. Our offensive line is solid. Alshon is talking Super Bowls and seems to want to hang around. Bring back Jay. The division belongs to us.

        • madscout12

We have a running game, but we don’t have a QB who makes winning throws while limiting turnovers.

Our D needs an entire new secondary. They need 1 more pass rusher and 1 more big body in the middle.

I love Cutler. I’ve always wanted to win with him and don’t think he’s been the problem. He’s gone this year. It will happen.

Is there a chance for what you say to happen? Yeah. But it is highly improbable.

  • BearDown100393

Prediction – Atlanta continues to put up points, Rodgers will pull the chute on his team by start of the 4th.

  • willbest

    • BearDown100393

He’ll be fired after this game.

  • madscout12

Now 97.8% win probability on the 4 letter. Pack had their chances. That should be the nail in the coffin. At the half.

Just don’t turn the fucking ball over, and that’s good night GB.

  • BearDown100393

Great 1st half for Atlanta. However the Falcons must not sit on this lead. Keep the foot on the gas with the offense.

    • SC Dave

This all the way. Score 50.

That’s what I’d be telling them. 50 at least.

      • Big Mike

Make it an epic failure that tears at their core

        • SC Dave

It wont tear their core. It’s one game, and we sure as fuck arent in it

          • Big Mike

Getting waxed 45-0 might put a chink in their psyche

          • SC Dave

I doubt it. Rodgers will tell them to relax, and they will.

I mean think about it – there is no way GB shod be in this game, but here they are.

      • Malice Halice

No bullshit. Make this shit impossible! Keep a 4 possession lead at All times!

        • SC Dave

There is also the message to send to the AFC.

          Fuck those assholes.

  • SC Dave

You may recall I mentioned this shit before the wild card games.

Atlanta is fucking good. Like Carolina was last year.

What does shock me a little is not the 24 for Atlanta, which is not atypical for them, but the 0 for Green Bay, which is.

    • Malice Halice

Gb juice is gone. Too many hailmary’s and obnoxious 3rd down conversions. They gettin 10 points b4 it’s all done.

          STFU on that crap.

          • Malice Halice

I think so, Rodgers can no longer sacrifice his DB’S for mojo

    • BearDown100393

The pain killers have worn out on Nelson.

  • SC Dave

I would not be upset if Olsen won the Man of the Year award. It is surely an honor to be a finalist – I imagine all three richly deserve it.

But somehow, a Bears connection alwayd makes it better.

  • SC Dave

Ok… lets have a stop here.

  • BearDown100393

This is a must defensive stop for Atlanta. This series must be a kill shot to Rodgers.

I don’t like Atlanta’s run game. And I don’t like this play calling. 3 quarters were effective to putting up points and hogging time of possession. Don’t stall the offense.

    • willbest

Their run game is legit. Just no point when packers can’t cover dick

  • BearDown100393

Dial up Julio Jones. Dial up another set of downs.

Well, so see? Told you it was Atlanta roing them.

I’d you who is winning tonight, but I. So. Dont. Care.

Yea I’m not rooting for Atl in SB51. Rodgers is emBEARassing the falcons D. Jesus christ wtf Atl. Yall got offense but NO Deposit! J. Nelson for 4 reception and td r yall fuckin serious?!

    • Cubsnlinux

      Huh?

      • Malice Halice

Atl defense is showing alot of faults for AFCC to view to capitalize on

  • BearDown100393

  • Cubsnlinux

OMG Rodgers is abused by ATL defense. Roughed Pretty badly. Muahaahah

  • Malice Halice

Atlanta D is suspect. I’m thankful they stopped GB tho. But AFC taking da SB this year.

    • BerwynBomber

My fear about ATL is they just shot their wad. Kinda felt that way about the Cheese after DAL last week. ATL was the superior team but GB looked flat.

Hope ATL doesn’t lay a similar egg in two weeks.

      • Malice Halice

I don’t like how gb drove down field with a depleted o-line, WR, and rb core! Rodgers is still ALLOWED 8 secs to throw the ball.

        • BerwynBomber

Well Rodgers often has to run for his life to buy those eight seconds.

          • Malice Halice

True, I’m tired of watching DC make a guy spy n cream his ass when he pass LOS

    • Cubsnlinux

Yes and Hillary is going to win by a landslide!

      • Malice Halice

        Negative

  • BerwynBomber

McCarthy is crazy not to pull Rodgers from this game. Stupid.

    • madscout12

I’d be more concerned about Ryan. The cheese aren’t exactly a clean team.

    • willbest

Why he has 9 months to heal

      • BerwynBomber

He’s literally a franchise player (who is undersized) and there are such things as career-altering injuries. Risking it is stupid unless you have a chance to win. The Cheese don’t.

        • Sauron’s right eyeball

Insane that this game covered the over and the Cheese only scored 21.

The ATL O and the Cheese D was one helluva mismatch.

    • BuddhaJoe

Man, without Rodgers that team would be garbage.

      • BearDown100393

        It is garbage.

      • BerwynBomber

He provides McCarthy and Thompson a ton of cover. Hell, Capers for that matter.

        • BearDown100393

In way, Rodgers is her own worst enemy. The team is garbage and her peak years were wasted by Thompson. Grimus is also mediocre at best. Erin will have to spout off in order for the Pack to reshuffle the management and coaching deck for any improvement. It is all downhill from here.

          • SC Dave

Let’s get him on our team. It would be soooooo beautiful.

Can you fucking imagne? A whiney douche getting calls with our oline and Jordan Howard?

            Five straight Super Bowl titles!

    • SC Dave

Atlanta is good. They CRUSHED the Seahawks D too.

      • BerwynBomber

I agree. I thought they would beat GB decisively but I was surprised by how much they beat up Rodgers.

The ATL D looks MUCH better than it did earlier in the year.

“:DaBearsBlog @dabearsblog People spent years killing Peyton for never duplicating his regular season stats in postseason. When does that start for Rodgers?”

Probably once Rodgers starts playing as poorly as Peyton did in the post-season (Playoff Peyton was basically regular season Cutler), and the Cheese start gagging #1 seeds every year.

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

But..but..but…didn’t Manning have the cover who?

    • willbest

Peyton was 11-13 before his 2015 season taking him to 14-13 with 9 one and dones. Rodgers is 9-7 with only 3 one and dones

      • BerwynBomber

Exactly. And Peyton’s TD/INT post-season ratio was pretty stinky too.

This is just Jeff mindlessly dancing on Rodgers’ grave. They just went 2-1 and arguably beat two teams who were superior to them. (Jeff was also dancing on Gase’s grave earlier in the year.)

Plus, it looked like the Cheese D shit the bed today more than their QB.

  • MB30SD

these are the right teams in the SB this year. Hands down.

    • BerwynBomber

DAL would be the only other team that would have an argument. But hey, didn’t get it done last week.

      • AlbertInTucson

        The slow start doomed them.

      • That Guy

Dallas vs. Atlanta is sort of proof that once again this is a passing league. The run offense couldn’t keep up with a top QB, but another top QB came along to knock him off.

        • BerwynBomber

Yeah, I don’t know. DAL looked like the superior team to GB. Just that Rodgers was still in his zone and Dak was a little nervy in the first half.

Let’s also not forget that DAL only lost because of one of the single greatest passes ever and two unbelievably clutch kicks.

      • MB30SD

as a business professional I always find it amusing when an employee with talent snaps straight and toes the line for a real boss with rules and consequences…..and people are amazed by the compliance of a formerly rogue and unpredictable employee.

You don’t think Martellus saw how they treat Lagaret Blount? LIke a fucking slave. That motherfucker plays on 1 yr minimum deals because Belichek puts the fear and respect of god into him. He did the same thing with Bennett, who is a complete piece of shit. Belichek and Brady (to a degree) run the type of ship where they would have punted that fucking asshole off of the team in nanoseconds if it had to be done. Emery and Trestman and I guess Cutler, Forte and the other captains to a degree let that shit happen.

    • That Guy

You can only have that attitude when you win. That’s the secret sauce.

Guys like Marty B, Blount and likely Gronk as well would all be trouble on another team. If the team has an easy-going locker room, they don’t get their act together. If the team has a strict locker room but loses, they flame out due to frustration. But when you demand a high level of performance and back it up with success? That’s what gets a Marty B to shut up and play football.

And that is just another reason why the rich get richer.

      • MB30SD

        Bingo

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

Jess, respect is earned. It’s a major universal law.

  • AlbertInTucson

Due to DISH-TV tech problems, I didn’t see the GB game so I am enjoying the replay on NFL Net.

Funny to hear Joe Buck twice referencing Atlanta blowing a 17-0 lead to SF in 2012, including moments before the Falcons made itt 24-0.

The Packer defense missed 2 INTs and a fumble recovery in the first half, alone.

So reminiscent of the Bears failing to get turnovers that were available to them.

Opportunities The Patriots NEVER seem to miss.

  • AlbertInTucson

9 for a buck 80 and 2 TDs for Julio Jones today so you know who Belicheck will not let beat him in 2 weeks.

Antonio Brown. 7 catches for 77 mostly meaningless yards.

Sanu is not chopped liver, plus Freeman / Coleman.

Can’t take them ALL away, Bill.

But, unlike the Packers, the Patriots HAVE a defensive backfield that can make plays.

    • willbest

Seattle was missing Thomas, but they aren’t exactly dogshit back there without him. I also like that Quinn has coached in the big game before even if it hasn’t been as a HC. Bill and Tommy Boy aren’t going to let the moment get to them.

      • AlbertInTucson

True, but it sure looked like losing Thomas was tantamount to the Bears losing Mike Brown.

Lane went out of that game and now, it comes out that Sherman was playing on a bad MCL.

A fact that may cost Seattle a draft pick for failing to report it.

Pete Carroll admitted they knew about it then tried to backtrack when he heard the league considered it an injury report violation.

        Can’t un-rung that bell, Pete.

      • BerwynBomber

True but NE has both an O and a D. (In fact, did I see the other day they had the #1 scoring D in the league this year?)

The Cheese, OTH, had Rodgers but a dogshit D. And SEA’s O was only mediocre this year (Wilson wasn’t horrible but I think it was his worst year since being a rook) and their scoring D really started to give way once Thomas went down.

In short, NE is a whole other ballgame than GB and SEA (w/out Thomas, at least).

    • BerwynBomber

I’d like to see a competitive game but I could see ATL playing like CAR did last year; i.e., the moment proves too big for them.

      • AlbertInTucson

Repeating my concern, as good a day as Ryan enjoyed, he was fortunate not to have been picked off twice and there were TWO snap snafus that Atlanta was lucky to cover.

  • AlbertInTucson

“I think we can run the table”.

Sometimes you run the table, sometimes the table runs you.

Some Rodgers butt-kissers in the media were trying to equate Rodgers “…run the table.”
To Babe Ruth’s called shot and Joe Namath’s “I guarantee it” for SB III.

Today’s result aside, “Can” is not the same as saying “will”, morons.

    • BerwynBomber

The Cheese had a helluva run from 4-6 but ultimately you can’t win the Lombardi with a crap D. As Blogfather has pointed out, they coughed up a 17 point lead to Matt freaking Barkley.

Frankly, the Cheese overachieved by getting past DAL (and maybe even NYG). DAL, IMV, was definitely the third best team in the league.

To me there was a significant drop once you got beyond NE, ATL and DAL.

      • AlbertInTucson

        I don’t disagree.

In retrospect, the NFCN just wasn’t very good, en toto.

        There were the Bears.
        No explanation needed.

        The Vikings.
Exposed, by the Bears, no less, after 5 weeks.

        The Loins.
BACKED into the playoffs despite a season-ending death spiral only because the Deadskins pissed away opportunity with both hands.

        • BerwynBomber

I think MIN can win with Bradford, but as with Cutler, other parts of your team better carry you and even then it’s a crap shoot whether you make the post-season.

Their D was all-world for five or six weeks, then went on walkabout mid-season.

Plus, their O-line was dicey and they didn’t come within a country mile of replacing AP’s production.

Semi-agree about DET. Then again, WAS choked even more.

  • BerwynBomber

Did anyone catch the Berman interview with Belichick on ESPN’s Sunday’s pre-game, specifically about his preference for left-footed punters?

The fucking evil little genius hooded troll. Just one more thing that no other HC is thinking about but the ‘chick.

    • willbest

No what is the reason for the lefty punter?

      • BerwynBomber

Different spin off the foot that PRs generally aren’t used to. Theory is it results in a couple/few more muffs per year.

        • willbest

It works in tennis I suppose.

      • AlbertInTucson

Opposite spin, supposedly, makes it tougher on returners who are so used to right-footed spin on the punted ball.

    • AlbertInTucson

Sorry, as soon as I see Berman, I tune out.

  • AlbertInTucson

Man, the Packers dropped a LOT of passes today.

    • BerwynBomber

They didn’t cover many guys either or generate much of a pass rush. I think those two things are the most troubling weaknesses for that team moving forward. Going to be in an interesting offseason for the overrated Ted Thompson.

      • AlbertInTucson

I grant the lack of pass rush but that defensive backfield was decimated by injury.

Of course, the Colts’ Grigson IS now available to replace Ted!

  • AlbertInTucson

6:42 to go and Aikman still thinks the Packers have a shot if the Packers could have made it 44-23.

It was stupid to go for two at that point when you need 3 more TDs, only one of which needs to have a 2 pointer attached, anyway.

  • AlbertInTucson

Rodgers actually admitted in his presser that he asked the ref to pick up the flag when he ripped the defender’s helmet off.

    And he was serious.
