    • Irish Sweetness

Wow, just looking at some of those clips .. the amount of inappropriate things either being said to children or being said by them e.g. a small girl saying “I take it black, like my men….”, the young boy being asked by the pilot if he’d ever seen a grown man naked.

  • Irish Sweetness

    And secondly ….

…my only hope for this game is for MT and JH to come through it without a scratch.

Gonna get our asses handed to us today.

And the best of luck to Cairo Santos!

    • Juan Stone

      Aah…. luck and hope? Indeed!

    • That Guy

The remainder of 2017 is basically 2018 preseason. So, no injuries, reps for younger guys who could/should start next year, and evaluating the bottom of the depth chart.

Defense needs to find a new, young leader. The LBs playing today are not captain material. Hicks being out means Goldman is pretty much the leader of the D, and he can’t call the defense and coverages. I’m thinking Eddie Jackson should get the green dot helmet.

  • Viva

    Bear Down!

  • Dis Guy Trublinsky

I’m interested to see the Fuller/AJ matchup.

Fuller wants to get paid. Whether he’s a Bear next year or not, this is a chance to earn some money.

    • Big Mike

Good comment. Something to watch. With the four day weekend, a state quarterfinal football game and guests visiting, I almost forgot the Bears were playing today

      • Dis Guy Trublinsky

I’m kinda looking forward to it. Worked Friday and Saturday trying to catch up, if there is such a thing, plus guests, family, and so on. Looking forward to a few hours of my couch, some good snacks, and a few beers.

        • Big Mike

As you pointed out, some things to watch for. Fuller, Shaheen, Trubisky obviously. The offense might be as healthy as it has been all year. Defense.. Trevathan, McPhee, Hicks and Lloyd, I believe are all out. McPhee might be a maybe. Going to be tough sledding there. Might give up 40 :(. Only shot is ball control, special team points and not giving up quick scores. Otherwise known as a puncher’s chance.

          • CanadaBear

I think Hicks and McPhee will play. Hopefully Hicks will be effective. McPhee will probably make a nice play some time during the game but mostly he will be ineffective.

          • Big Mike

You saying this because they are injured, or you don’t think they’re very good
            Get Outlook for iOS

          • CanadaBear

Both of them were listed as questionable or something like that. Usually those guys seem to suit up under Foxy. I think Hicks is probably the best signing of Pace’s time with the Bears. McPhee ruined his knee the first year he was with the Bears and now he reminds me of Tommie Harris. A good play once in a while along with a whole lot of nothing.

          • Big Mike

Got it. We are better if they can go. We will see in a bit

            Get Outlook for iOS

          • leftcoastdave

The question in my mind is Bullard’s butt. He was showing up big time early in the year until he strained his glute which is like straining a hammy (the real big hammy). That set him back big time but I hope to see him come on the rest of the year. Similarly RR Harris with his hammy. Those two have a nice future in that D line and the luxury of rotation will matter bigly next year.

          • Big Mike

Bullard needs to use these next 6 games to show he’s a part of the core, not just a guy. I think he’s a core player. But he needs to show it. Did not know he’s been fighting an injury. He looked better against Detroit. This season is a season of what ifs. It’s not implausible that the Bears would be 6-3. How different we would feel. Oh well.

          • leftcoastdave

Bullard was out a few weeks with the glute which, as a lineman (as you know), is crucial to his explosiveness. His hand fighting has improved greatly and he was pushing his man into the backfield at the beginning of the season.
His being out of the rotation (effectively) has worn down Hicks and Unrein.

          • Big Mike

I lost track of him being out. So ok. Let’s see what he can do

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

just a note: Ball control does not mean becoming predictable and doing that run, run, pass shit for the first half.

          • Big Mike

He’ll no. It means long drives that eat clock.

    Let the Kid loose!!!

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky

Be nice to see that MT/Shaheen combo take another step. I also feel like Loggains is on the verge of getting Cohen dialed in. Let Howard and BC be your one/two punch and get Cohen going on some fun stuff.

  • leftcoastdave

“Trubisky, Cohen, Shaheen should have been working in the two minute
drill with the ones in Bourbonnais. But that’s not how Fox does things.”

No, and that will prove to be a good thing.

It is called player development and Fox’s success in that regard is what is being missed by many.

Look today at the solid play of Amos. See also Floyd improved dramatically in pass D.

On the O side, it is obvious Mitchell was not ready game five, let alone preseason. Cohen? Seriously? He came out with a BANG! but as soon as the D’s had his tape we saw him reversing field for losses. Now he is being learned up in other very special ways as a receiving threat. Shaheen? What need be said? Coming from Ashland you would expect him to be able to block an NFL DE or LB? He’s been working on it and now field worthy. Similarly his routes. He’s learning where to be and how to get separation and that has just begun.

This season started with the great O line being the question. That is the tale of the first half of the season against great competition, new QBs and a decimated receiver corp.

Fox got as much as could be expected from them while building for the future.

If the Eagles drop 50 on us today Kap and others will dial-up the fire Fox NOW rhetoric on the radio waves tomorrow. This game has all the makings of handing Trubisky the first low-point of his career with multiple interceptions. I just hope all the important players come out of this game with no major injuries.

One of our friends is a burlesque dancer and we went and saw her perform last night at a fund raiser. She has a couple of snakes for pets and brought the red tailed boa for the show. I’m scared to death of snakes. Hers was so hypnotic that I actually gave our friend a hug while she had it around her neck. Did I mention the only thing she was wearing at the time was G-string and pasties?! Amethyst (the snake) was totally naked!

I still got a feeling we can win this game purely on MT10 shoulders but I won’t be screaming n throwin shit as I would the first 2 months of football. Our ceiling today will be like the falcons game. At worse it will be like the Bucs game along with a 30pt gap. It’s either we shock da world by whoopin they ass or we keep it real n let MT10 learn da ropes n have fun. I’m glad i can see it up here in MN.

  • Cubsnlinux

Do we have any facet of the game that is decent? Offense..Defense..Specials? If not, this is an abject failure of epic proportions.

    • madscout12

Defense is decent. I’m convinced there is enough young talent on the O for a quick turnaround with a O coordinator that can consistently call decent plays and use player’s strenghts.

Where has the boot been this game? Where’s the use of Shaheen up the middle? It is like we have to play our own coaches before we play the other team.

      • Big Mike

You really don’t understand football. None of those plays fit any situation the bears have been in. They have run 13 plays.

        • madscout12

          On 1st & 10,
          – Pass on the outside to Shaheen.
          – JH up middle
          – JH up middle
          – Pass short left (INT + FMB)
          – TC up middle
          – JH to left end

The Bears called the punt team on the field on third down while Inman was down. Then only had 10 players on offense after Inman went off. Timeout. -Tweetz

      • BearDown100393

        Even Trestman shook his head.

      • I started Eagle’s D, sat Howard for Pats Lewis, started Ertz.

No Jeff, no. Losing is his worst crime.

  • madscout12

Look at the Eagles running all those beautiful run pass options. Must be nice.

  • willbest

so does gym shorts let up in the second half and give jeff the ability to complain how fox wasn’t letting trub play in the first half, or do we just get the complete goose egg beat down?

  • BuddhaJoe

Aaaaaaand they have quit on Fox.

    • willbest

eagles are to the bears what the bears would be to Alabama.

doesn’t matter, we would just beat them down by being bigger faster stronger

          • BearDown100393

That ruins the ONE thing Fox is supposedly good at, teams not quitting.

      They quit last yr too

    • They quit on Fox. They’re thinking about Hawaii

      • BearDown100393

Fox quit long before the players.

Pace should have fired him after Green Bay.

        This is on Pace.

The only reason this coaching staff remains employed is because of Ryan Pace.

So who is actually worse at evaluation?

    • EnderWiggin

Have you followed or studied the Bears for the last few decades?
They won’t fire a coach mid season.
Blame Pace all you want, but upper management brought in the old Parcells guy to help him hire the coaches. Accorsi or someshit.
For all we know, Pace is saying “I told ya’ll so”.

      • BearDown100393

        His job. His responsibility.

I don’t condone or pretend to be passive about the Bears front office ineptness. He took the job. Now do it.

Nice, clean hit by Amos. That is how it is done. Lower the shoulder but don’t lead with the head. Don’t like to see injuries but good stuff.

Wentz might take Brady’s crown as the best QB sneak guy.

    • BearDown100393

Just watch Goodell fine him anyways.

    • madscout12

24-3 and he’s running QB sneaks…and they have the chance to go all the way. Just asking for a finger injury on his throwing hand.

      • BerwynBomber

Valid point. Wentz is still a bit too reckless and Peterson a bit too aggressive.

For an accurate passer Trubisky sure does throw a lot of shitty passes

    • madscout12

His WR do him no favors, but valid criticism. He needs a lot of work on footwork in the off season.

      • Big Mike

No doubt we need better receivers but he has overthrown almost. 1/2 of his attempts.

    • BearDown100393

For an intelligent general manager, Pace sure does waste picks drafting up for an incomplete quarterback.

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

For a Bears fan, BD sure hates everything about everyone in the organization.

    • Bender McLugh

I’ll reserve judgement until he has better targets running routes.

      • Big Mike

Overthrows are overthrows. Let’s not have rose colored glasses with Trubisky. Call it what it is. The kid has been awful. Rookie mistakes or issues, maybe.

        • Bender McLugh

I still agree he’s been bad

          • BerwynBomber

Yeah, mix of both. He’s been bad but we won’t know what we have until next year.

I like LeBlanc as a depth guy. Said it last year and never wavered from that opinion. He was a good find.

  • BerwynBomber

Can’t say I’m upset by this (as opposed to the Brett Hundley game).

This just looks like one of the best teams in the league playing at home against one of the worst teams in the league on the road. And the latter team’s D is banged up.

The O has been the big disappointment today but PHI does have an excellent D.

    • Big Mike

You’re right. It is what it is. SF next week. Browns after that. Battle for the cellar.

After watching the results of the 1st 3 drafts, optimism is waning for any substantial improvement in future picks.

    • evantonio

it was all a long con to get Darnold.

  • BearDown100393

Anyone still defending this organization is completely delusional.

    • Cubsnlinux

I don’t think there is anyone who is outside the McCaskey family that is defending the organization. Ownership is incompetent but they aren’t going anywhere. Ted Phillips isn’t going anywhere. Pace is average at best and he ain’t going anywhere until 2019. Fox and staff will be gone soon but with the top layer intact why should we expect different results? Anyone expecting different results is delusional…

      • BearDown100393

I agree it is delusional to expect the Bears transforming into a winning competent running organization.

  • Big Mike

    • BearDown100393

In all fairness, at least the Bulls are purposefully tanking.

      • KentuckyBearsFan

…at least the Bears haven’t traded their best player for almost nothing yet

        • BearDown100393

Kinda curious who would be considered the Bears “best player”? I guess Jordan Howard.

          • KentuckyBearsFan

            Howard or Hicks?

          • BearDown100393

Definitely the best defensive player is Hicks.

          • Irish Sweetness

Hicks. Howard is just a runner.

      • Cubsnlinux

GarPaxDorfHoi are the worst..no comparison. Fox is way better than Hoiberg, Pace is like a zillion times better than Gar Forman.

        • BearDown100393

12 wins in 3 seasons is “way better”, alrighty then.

          • Cubsnlinux

Can’t compare wins/losses across sports and especially between NBA and NFL. Even pathetic teams can win say at least 15 games in today’s NBA

          • BearDown100393

            Oh.

  • BearDown100393

    Adam Shaheen – 1 completion. 1 yard.

    Seriously Fox….

Anyone expecting different results is delusional.

    • Big Mike

      How are the owners incompetent?

      • BearDown100393

They cannot even hire their own personnel.

      • Irish Sweetness

Watching Ted Phillips steal money off them for a long time?

        • Big Mike

He’s not much of a football man, but he runs the business side pretty well.

    • BerwynBomber

We won with Lovie and Dick Jauron. Hell, even Trestman and Shea almost stole us a division title in ’13.

The future largely comes down to Pace, Bisky and the next HC.

      P.S. Don’t completely buy the McCaskey/Phillips blame.

      • BearDown100393

        The Bears won in 1985.

        Everything else is window dressing.

        • Dis Guy Trublinsky

          You didn’t enjoy ‘05 and ‘06? Can’t say I’m surprised.

      • Dis Guy Trublinsky

Been saying it since he was drafted. Pace lives and dies by Trubisky. It’ll take another coach and some time to know for sure.

        • BearDown100393

They will be eulogized over the same plot.

      • Irish Sweetness

        Starts at the top. Always.

    • I’m no McCaskey fan, but they pretty much stay out of the picture once the season starts.

The one major mistake they did was to hire a “think tank” (accorsi) to hire Fox.

They’re so incompetent, they had to choose an outsider to hire an HC.

An outsider with no investment in the Bears.

      Pace was stuck with him.

And I don’t think he was allowed to fire Fox after 2 seasons. That’s on managment.

If Pace was indeed allowed to fire Fox last yr, then that’s totally on him.

As is Glennon (wasn’t Keenum available?) and his underwhelming FA pull.

But this team was doomed under Fox.

If I had a nickle for all the times I said fire Fox since last season, I’d be a rich man.

      That was the major debacle.

How cool would it have been to have McVay as HC, and Fangio as DC with Trub, Cohen Sasheen?

This season would’ve turned out very differently.

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

A lot of teams have hired a “think tank” to find GMs and HCs. Usually more on the hiring the GM. So I don’t blame the McCaskey’s for reaching out and getting help. I do however blame them for who they hired to help out. Accorsi has been out of football too long, so he is out of touch with who is out there and available. Seemed like a “big” name like Fox came up and he just went with it.

  • BearDown100393

“Plenty of misery presentable on the Bears sideline”

    He will be missed.

  • DaMurph

    • BearDown100393

      2 seasons now

    • Irish Sweetness

We did have a guy, and he he could return too.

  • madscout12

People can talk about how Trubs has sailed passes, and he has. So has Wentz in this game. But there have been multiple passes thrown up to WR that hit them in the hands and almost none that were complete.

    • BearDown100393

Yeah Wentz needs to step up on his game!

    • Big Mike

Selective memory. I count 8 overthrows and 3 drops

    • BerwynBomber

Wentz has but at least three he was merely throwing into the stands.

  • Big Mike

4th and2 complete miss by Trubisky. No pressure. Just off by 3 yards

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky

      Yeah. He’s a hot mess.

    • BearDown100393

      This is what he is.

  • BerwynBomber

Nick Foles? I thought Chase Daniels was the Iggles back-up.

Wonder what Foles would have cost vs. Glennon. Ah well …

    • madscout12

And if we had our eye on Trubs all along, we could run an offense with Foles that was like the one we should run with Trubisky. Or Watson. Or Mahomes.

      • BerwynBomber

Semi-true. Foles wasn’t tailor-made for RPO either. Chip Kelly just fed it to all this QBs.

Don’t forget, Sanchize ran RPO for the Iggles for a year too.

Why Glennon is still ahead of Sanchize on the depth chart still angers me more than it should.

        • Dis Guy Trublinsky

Might as well let that one go. Not much matters at that position outside of getting 10 as much experience as possible. There is nothing left to be gained this year by playing Sanchez.

          • BerwynBomber

Hey, I consider myself pretty level-headed when it comes to this franchise. So I’m refusing to part with my Glennon-above-Sanchize irritation or my Brett Hundley game anger.

Last year I had my loss at DET anger when Jeff Triplette gave the Lions a ton of key, bad calls.

  • BearDown100393

Well, this season rivals the excitement of handing over $18 million to Giraffe.

    Decisions have consequences.

Poorly constructed team. Poorly coached team.

Playing San Francisco and Cleveland may be the worse thing for this team at this point. Serious problems here. And overcoming denial is a first step. The blinders are off. And it will show up soon enough in the form of sections of completely empty seats.

I’m hard on ownership because George is a damn fool for double downing on this crap.

    It is all bad.

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky

(George feverishly scribbling in his note pad trying to keep up)

You’re persistent. I’ll give you that. Do you apply this same level of energy to real Life issues? If so, how do you find the time? This board is half full of just you. That’s a hell of a lot of work. I think it’s working too. I heard a rumor they may sell the team.

      • BearDown100393

I’m catching up for the past week.

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

          YAY!! BD is here.

  • Derek Price

It needs of be said, ownership and brains trust got things the wrong way round. Should have been an experience GM with a younger coach willing to change things up.

This continues until the coach and some staff are replaced

    • BearDown100393

The senior residents here hate to read truth. Be careful treading the water.

      • Dis Guy Trublinsky

Opinion and truth are not the same thing.

      • madscout12

Mer, sailed passes. Mer terrible QB play. Mer more defense and running the football into 9 man fronts. Mer, playcalling looks fine. Mer…

      • Dis Guy Trublinsky

Why would he need to be careful? Is there some consequence to disagreeing I’m not aware of?

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

don’t you know if you make a logical argument or show any sort of support for the team it is a personal attack against BD. Also you are delusional if you say anything positive.

          • Dis Guy Trublinsky

So I gather. And yet, we’re failing at life and somehow that’s relative to our hope that this Bears rebuild works out. It’s weird.

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky

And what experienced, successful GM would you have hired?

Nothing wrong with young and aggressive at both positions.

  • madscout12

    Best celebration yet…electric slide. Nice.

  • BuddhaJoe

Ok it’s too early to call him a bust but Trubs straight up sucks right now.

    • Cubsnlinux

Accuracy was his biggest selling point. His throws were anything but accurate. I really hope he becomes a Goff but at this point not sure what Pace saw in MT to throw away draft picks.

    • RenoBear

Yep he’s a friggin mess. No confidence in himself, his reads, his mechanics, or his coaches it looks like. Floundering to say the least

    • Malice Halice

Qb position still up for grabs.

    • Big Mike

That over turned interception was behind the receiver by 3 feet.

      • BerwynBomber

        Yeah that one was hideous.

  • RenoBear

What the fuck does Trubisky see on these plays?? He throws into double coverage CONSTANTLY

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

maybe the receivers suck and are consistently in double coverage.

      • Cubsnlinux

Sounds a lot like Cutler excuses..may be receivers suck.. no it’s the OC..wait it’s the HC.. hold on the OL is the reason..blah..blah

      • RenoBear

Well this is true. Even when it’s single coverage, the CB’s ALWAYS have a great break on the ball.

    • madscout12

He has no options that beat their man and needs a play?

  • Cubsnlinux

Alright.. I have seen enough.. Trubisky sucks

  • Cubsnlinux

Lot of decent options in the FA market for QBs this offseason..(ducks)

  • Cubsnlinux

Phew….dumpster fire finally comes to an end. The score lies. It could have been easily.. 50-0.
