      • CanadaBear

My second marriage we had a pajama wedding. We rented a house for a week, put up the relatives and everyone that attended were in pajamas (even the marriage commissioner). My Beloved Bride wore her mother’s wedding dress during the ceremony but was wearing a tie-dyed onesie before the wedding and really nice lounge wear afterwards. It was crazy. People started partying around noon and we got married around 7 PM.

haha, my first job out of college I worked with this tiny irish guy. Maybe 5’6 135 but pretty good looking, quiet confidence, great guy to drink with. Anyway, we have a company christmas party and this fucking guy shows up with a RUNWAY model. Legit professional model.
All of us picked up our jaws off the floor and we were drunkenly racking our brains to find out how he accomplished this amazing feat.

Turns out he used to be a pretty decent boxer and was packing a pringles can. He was forever known as Irish Heat.

You are conflating your timeline. Please do not do that.

After the Cole bombing, an ABC backed crew found him and spoke to him, in a cave somewhere. I watched an interview with the reporter who did it, and they worked pretty hard to secure it, and the CIA confiscated all their gear and wanted to screen the tape afterward, and ABC fought this. The reporter and his cameraman thought it about 50/50 that they would get a bullet in the head, and did it ANYWAY.

After 9/11, no western journalist spoke to bin laden. There were tapes made and distributed by al queda, but no western journalist met with him. None.

Former Bear, Bryan Robinson, dead at 41.

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-bryan-robinson-dead-motel-room-20160613-story.html

“His career with the Bears is probably best remembered for the “Walter Payton game” on Nov. 7, 1999, the first game the team played after the death of the Hall of Fame running back. Robinson blocked a 28-yard field goal attempt by Green Bay’s Ryan Longwell as time expired to preserve a 14-13 victory at Lambeau Field and snap a 10-game losing streak to the Packers.”

“I think Walter Payton actually picked me up a little bit and boosted me up in the air because I can’t jump that high,” Robinson said after the game. “Walter had a lot to do with it. I know he did.”

It’s been that way for a long time. They average at least one story a week about Erin. I’m a Cubs fan and ESPN has definitely piled on the coverage about the Cubs.

  • Swing Tackle of Destiny

Willie Young says he will take Floyd under his wing and teach him all the trade tricks. He would also very much like a contract extension.

    • willbest

Guy deserves it. We have paid him less than $400k a sack, which is a steal in this league.

      • I’m also glad he came around.
I think once POX dumped Allen that signaled to him how much they valued him.

        The Fisherman all in!

  • willbest

There was zero indication from the AJ camp that he ever intended to miss any mandatory activity. He signed his franchise tender like the day after they tagged him. He didn’t pitch a fit like Norman or Von Miller.

  • Sometimes I wanna write a short FF piece, but then I play against you MoFos, and don’t want to get Pattoned.

I did some preliminary research on IDP to possibly add extra flavor to Da League this year, but it seems really convoluted. It’s hard enough prying Waffle away from his rum to start a line-up without adding defensive players into the mix.

For the love of God no auction.

It rewards intelligence, patience and strategy, which I’m always for!

        • You’re about to get Jericho’d

I’m going Cutty, Alshon, White, Miller, Langford, all the way to the fucking championship.

          • Alshon…you’re a brave(r)man.

Just ask NB who drafted him last year. Half the time, he was hurt. The other times he did start, NB had to wonder if he would run two routes and sit the rest of the game, or catch 2 TDs for 150.

          • You’re about to get Jericho’d

Alshon is staring 50 MIL in the face. He is going to ball out like no one has ever balled out. Picking peanuts off of dudes heads, one handers, going over the middle, converting 1st after 1st, etc. He will be demanding the red zone ball. I’m calling 12 TD’s, 1300 yds and a huge catch percentage.

          • Irish Sweetness

All that in 8 games would be seriously impressive yo.

          • Zing!

          • SC Dave

I hate auction drafts. It relies on people acting rationally in a market fueled by emotion and instinct.

        • That’s what’s great about it. Drafting vs humans who will pay $100 for Cutty is infinitely more fun than drafting vs ESPN nanobots.

    • Swing Tackle of Destiny
  • So, random blog poll.

Who will be the most improved Bear this season or have a breakout season?

(And by breakout I mean play at a PB/All-Pro lvl)

Some of the are easy targets: Langford, Amos, Goldman…but some others like Miller, Callahan, Leno or Young can take it up a notch.

    And yes, maybe even Cutty..

    • Huge Bear’s Penis

      Pat O’Donnell

        • Huge Bear’s Penis

          • willbest

Wouldn’t that take Unrein off the field?

    • willbest

      Braverman and Bullard

      • Sactowns#1

Get a load of this guy….

    • Irish Sweetness

I think Cutty has his best ever year. Kevin White should have a stellar year for a dude playing his first as a pro. Grasu should come on a ton.

      • If Cutty has an All-Pro season, he’s the tide that lifts all boats, and obviously, the guy we want most to ‘break out’.

White will be interesting. A physical freak but still in his first NFL season on a run-heavy team with another #1WR.

There’s lots of possible break-out candidates.

    • Sactowns#1

I was going to go with Goldman but really even if he got 10 sacks it wouldn’t be a vast improvement from the 7 sacks he had last season. So if we are going most improved, I have to go with the obvious and pick and say White. I mean ANY production would be a HUGE improvement. If we are going most impactful though I think I’m gonna have to go with Houston. I think the improved interior of the Dline along with a hungry rookie LB on the other side could add up to Houston having a monster season.

      • wow. Didn’t even think about Houston. He seems to be the forgotten man, and maybe now surrounded by real talent and fully healthy he’ll reach his max potential.

      • Goldman had 4.5 sacks last season, and I feel pretty safe in saying he will never hit 10 sacks in Chicago. DL don’t get that many sacks under Fangio.

Where I want to see Goldman improve is by holding up better against the run. He was ok but not great at that last year.

        • Sactowns#1

My bad, I looked at the wrong column.

        • Yes, but if Goldman makes AP, he would def fall into the breakout category.

The PB values sacks, but AP seems to take it all into account.

      • You’re about to get Jericho’d

I think that Houston will have a Raiders Houston type year. He is not a joke.

        • Johnnywad

That sack dance injury is kind of funny.

        • MB30SD

          I like this

    • Sactowns#1

In fact, if we are saying impactful I would say Gould will be the most improved/impactful. If he hits 95% this year he’ll be the man.

      • He’s also in the mix esp since his last two seasons haven’t been exactly stellar.

      • SC Dave

        May it be so!

      • MB30SD

        Oh jesus.

Can we include that he makes one or dare I say it… two!!!! Out of the endzone in that fucking wet dream of yours my brother? Haha

    • Foggy Notion

My best guess is Goldman, his conditioning is supposed to be that much better already, but with a vastly improved front seven, could this be the year Fuller gets it? Definitely putting my money on a defensive player though, the talent upgrade all around will help the young vets out immensely. I think the questions on the o-line do not help any of the playmakers on that side of the ball.

      • I would really be surprised by Fuller.

He just doesn’t seem like a scheme fit, and I suspect they’ll eventually try him out at FS.

He would be a nice complement to Amos who is more of a basher than a coverage S.

    • Bender McLugh

Unrein – 4 TD’s this year? Yep, I think so.

    • Swing Tackle of Destiny

      Hroniss

    • EnderWiggin

      Willy Young: 11 sacks.

      Cutty: 27TD, 0 fumbles.

      Jeffery: 16 games started.

      As a bonus – Grasu: 3SA

      • You’re about to get Jericho’d

I think 8 or 9 sacks for Young because of the split duty.
I could definitely see 27Td’s for Cutty but at least 4 or 5 fumbles though.

      • SC Dave

Zero fumbles will never happen, unless he plays about two games.

        • You’re about to get Jericho’d

0 fumbles means 0 fumbles lost and that only happens to Wilson because he is rlite.

        • EnderWiggin

Cutty had 5 fumbles in 08… That’s as close as he has been to 0.

    • Big Mike

from the less likely column. Christian Jones, Grasu, Leno

      • You’re about to get Jericho’d

I don’t know if Jones makes this team.

        • Big Mike

They are moving him to olb. There was a piece about how similar he was to Floyd coming out of college. That was the basis for my comment. Not last years performance.

          • You’re about to get Jericho’d

lol, what a revelation. The Bears are going to play Jones at a position he excelled at in college at FSU. Haha, oh my god and we still talk about Cutty.
This is the Bears org man. you gotta laugh sometimes.

          • Big Mike

To be fair to fox and friends, they needed him at ILB last year. Tresticle was a debacle. Wouldn’t have happened with lovie. Comes back to the owner selecting Emery

          • Shea and Jones actually both should have been OLB. Oh well. Neither has looked good doing anything in the NFL so far.

          • SC Dave

Other than being much better than Bostic…

          • MB30SD

Bullshit, shae has strip club pictures of someone, they were equally as lost in every formation but at least Bostic is an athlete who could thump. McClellin was a joke all around.

          • Big Mike
          • That has nothing saying he’s getting moved. It’s speculation from somebody saying he SHOULD be moved. Big difference.

I don’t think he makes the team. The depth at both OLB and ILB right now is enough that he’s not even close to this roster IMO. I’m guessing he’s gone in the first round of cuts, down to 75, if he even makes it that far.

          • SC Dave

            Beats crying, no?

My great hope with Fox and staff is that we would FINALLY have a team that is capable of *developing talent*. Other than Ryan, Marinelli, and (perhaps most of all) Tours, it’s been grim.

The Bears have never, since I became a fan in 1965, had an OC worthy of the uniform.

          • MB30SD

Jesus chris, do we have a fucking nerd-style mind meld going today?!?!

          • SC Dave

Jones is at the same level as Shea. That is to say, much better than Bostic, but a ways from good enough.

            Smh dave, just smh maings.

      • Irish Sweetness

I think Alshon is going to have a badass year. I was pissed he skipped OTA’s but if he plays on the tag it’s going to be epic. He’ll tell the Bears to fuck off NEXT year but this year he will ball out.

          We are UNREIN!

I can’t remember Halas Hall leaking articles to the press about being pissed off with Cutler and his lack of conditioning. He maintains his DIE-BEETUS body pretty well.

OTOH, Halas Hall mouthbreather mouthpiece CSN leaked this:

          http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-bears/bears-frustration-growing-around-injury-status-alshon-jeffery

And that was just the start. Score asshole Bernstein, other toadies, even Biggsy on the tweetz let it be known that Halas Hall was not pleased with how Jeffery trained and all the time in the whirlpool.

          • SC Dave

Lemmings one and all. We are, after all, living in the twitter age

          • This concern goes all the way back to college.
There’s a reason he dropped from the 1st round, and it had little to do with talent.

When he was training with Bmarsh, some of those concerns were minimized.

But now that he has to be his own alpha, maybe those college critics had a point.

IF true and Alshon can’t even whip himself into shape in a CONTRACT year, then what’s gonna happen when he gets paid?

          • You’re about to get Jericho’d

Haha, also, I hate to bring this up but Cutler had thumb surgery with a fucking football in his hand to come back in 2011 despite guaranteeing himself arthritis in the future. The only thing he needed Hanie to do was not lose every single game to the AFC West. The AFC WEST!!!

          • Like Irish said, in 8 games, 3 of those in which he’s just limping around, quite impressive.

My personal favorite is the guy who put in play 50k in options mere minutes before the LinkedIn acquisition announcement. He cashed out $1.5M.

Nice work if you can get it.

Will the SEC hunt him down and send him to jail? Probably not.

  • You’re about to get Jericho’d

Straight out of the Oh Hell No files:
reports coming out that the Orlando shooter used to hang at gay clubs and use gay dating apps.

Trac, you’re scaring me….and not in the fun, zany, Irish Sweetness Fed conspiracy way.

          • 1984

I can’t help it but when you see a military drone hiding in the clouds above your house you’ll understand where I’m coming from.

          • You’re about to get Jericho’d

lol, and for that reason…i’m out.

I wonder what the 66 million farmers and citizens of Russia who were murdered under Jewish led communism thought about that? Do you really want to go there? Most Jewish people are good decent people but their leaders? Not so much.

          • Captain Obvious

Wait, wha? Stalin was a Jew?

And pray tell me how all Jews (or Christians, or Muslims, or whatever) are somehow culpable for the acts of a few co-religionists?

I mean, I don’t hold all Christians responsible for the acts of Hitler, McVeigh, or Dylan Roof.

          • Scharfinator

Well I’d hope not with Hitler, as he wasn’t a Christian.

          • 1984

Over 92% of Stalins cabinet were Jews. Communism is the needed transition for Despots.

          • SC Dave

            66M seems exaggerated.

          • 1984

That’s the number that is commonly used.

          • Irish Sweetness

Did anyone see ‘Eye in the sky’ ? It turned farcical. ‘Good kill’ was good (same story). But EITS … farcical.

I am convinced that whoever runs Hillary Clinton’s twitter account is either a world class troll or is on Trump’s payroll. Calling for restrictions on basic freedoms for any US citizen being investigated by the FBI… you can’t make this stuff up.

    • beninnorcal

I saw that too, out of control

    • Devil’s Advocate

Show me where in the 2nd Amendment it says you can’t have any delay in purchasing a firearm when you’ve been investigated for ties to terrorist organizations and/or murderous inclinations.

      • Scharfinator

Permission by omission? Horrible argument to make.

        • SC Dave

To say nothing of due process. Of course, statistics of all flavors do hate the Constitution.

      • willbest

It’s actually in the 5th where it says you can’t be deprived of liberty without due process. Its not a particularly long document, so you are expected to be familiar with it.

To the extent that they seek to strip a person of their rights they have to give a hearing and allow him counsel, while turning over all the evidence that they have on him.

Of course the FedGov isn’t looking to do any of that.

Irish, check out megamind for the girls. Love that movie maing. Great for gowns too.

  • If you build it, he will come…

ESPN Jets reporter Rich Cimini reports franchise-tagged RE Muhammad Wilkerson “might not report” for the start of training camp.

Around those that cover the team, Wilkerson’s contract squabble has taken a backseat to Ryan Fitzpatrick’s, but it’s still a large issue. Wilkerson is heated at seeing another defensive lineman (Eagles DT Fletcher Cox) get a monster contract on Monday and feels he deserves every bit of what Cox got — $63 million guaranteed. Wilkerson can’t be fined because he hasn’t signed his tender. – Roto

So the Eagles kept their contract negotiator after last seasons purge….

    • Irish Sweetness

Jefe can we get a blog campaign going for Muhammadd ?

      Let’s pay the guy.

      • SC Dave

        So much for value picks

  • mmmmm…Isn’t Clutts free? Given that we barely roster ONE TE, might be a good idea.

Free agent FB Darrel Young will participate in Bears minicamp on a tryout basis.

The fullback is a dying breed in today’s game, but the Bears are toying with the idea of using one this season under new OC Dowell Loggains after ex-OC Adam Gase preferred using three tight ends last season – Roto

    • Scharfinator

How old is Clutts at this point? We all loved him, what, 4 years ago? That’s as long as the average NFL career.

  • Bready for Bronk?

Bears UDFA TE Ben Braunecker earned reps with the second-team offense at OTAs.

Braunecker received the largest signing bonus ($10,000) in the Bears’ undrafted rookie class and posted the top SPARQ score among Combine invitees in this year’s tight end group. He averaged 17.7 yards
per catch in his final year at Harvard. Nicknamed “Bronk,” Braunecker reportedly made “some nifty catches downfield” in OTAs and showed “good speed and hands.” Braunecker is worth rostering in deep Dynasty leagues behind shaky starter Zach Miller, who was out of football 2012-2014 andturns 32 in October. – Roto
