• DaMurph

I despise John Elway, just sayin.

    • Jokey

Kinda a jerky GM, but the SB helicopter run was epic. And defeated the Packers so that’s a solid

      • Irish Sweetness

And he created The Elway Effect – where it takes nine full seasons to finally get your head out of your ass.

The packers lead the league in 3 and outs, and have lost the right to capitalization. They cannot convert 3rd downs either. Statistically anyway, Cutty is the main man in this division.

    • Trac

Love thine enemies murph. I will have compassion on him this afternoon because the Bears are gonna destroy his ego today. Hee hee.

      • Big Mike

There should be no mercy, from this team ever. BTFD.

    • MB30SD

      He looks like Mr ed

      • Big Mike

He almost rehabilitated himself in my mind by beating the Packers. But his hold out at the start of the draft, whiny ass punk pitched a fit and wouldn’t go where he was drafted.

      • DaMurph

You hit it MB, fuckin horse faced, self absorbed douche

  • Johnnywad

    Is it Bear Weather yet?

    • Trac

It’s getting there isn’t it? We’ll know by 3:00 pm.

      • Jokey

        You mean noon?

        • Trac

Nope, we’ll know after the game if it’s Bear weather. Know what I mean, jelly bean?

    • Irish Sweetness

4 degrees according to NFL Network.

      • AlbertInTucson

Tough here ,too. I don’t think it will make it to 80 today.

        • CanadaBear

Sunny as can be. Another beautiful day in paradise (at least in the winter).

      • Big Mike

21 degree windchil 28 degree temperature at game time.

  • Trac

Character building time is upon the Bears today. I feel strangely confident.

    Go Bears!

    • Big Mike

      Doh!

  • Going to the game to freeze today.

    Bear Down!

    • Huge Bear’s Penis
    • Shady

Wear multiple layers of socks, buy the hand warmers, cover your head, ears, face if possible.

Also, standing on newspaper or similar will allow you too keep the feeling in your toes.

      Enjoy the game.

      • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

also, booze may help. not beer, jusss hard booze

        • Big Mike

          In life as well…

      • I’ve got it all covered. Not my first rodeo, I’ve been to several NU football games with similar weather the last few years.

        • CanadaBear

And yet you’re still going!!!!!!!!!! Bring home a W, JW!

      • Big Mike

Standing on Newspaper is one of the best tricks ever. The difference is significant. Hunting gear is always the warmest. But its 28 at game time. No big deal at all.

    • Big Mike

Man up. I’ve had great times at Soldiers in weather as cold as -4 (before the windchill) vs Minnesota in 2006, Dec 3rd. Rain when it is less than 40degrees is the worst. Snow is awesome.

  • Jeffery, Royal, and Forte all out. Against the best defense in the NFL. That should be fun.

    • Irish Sweetness

That’s a challenge for Jay no doubt. The jump ball guy isn’t there. Zach Miller needs to make the highlight reel again. Grasu was running around this week, I wonder if the line is back to normal?

Thing about today is, we shouldn’t make it easy on Brock – though Vagio probably will. The Broncos can’t run the ball. We stack the box and blitz the shit out of that line and we’ll get results in tackles for loss and pressuring a guy making his first ever start in the NFL.

We cannot allow a league virgin pop his cherry in comfort.

Fangio, thou shalt blitz this day.

      GO BEARS !!!

      • Slauson said yesterday he’s not playing C this week, so sounds like Grasu is back, which means Slauson back at LG and Ducasse to the bench.

        • Irish Sweetness

Fucking sweet!!! We’ll open this defense up with the run.

        • T’Challa

Unless they move Ducasse back to RG like he was at the beginning of the season.

    • Jeffery missing a game? SHOCKED.

    • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

that’s not good man but here’s to hoping Gase puts together the gameplan of his life FROM THE START. I don’t want a pussy first half. I want creative but common sense type play calling. Use the TE’s on 1st and 2nd downs, err on the side of caution and run hard to convert 2nd and 2’s instead of ending up in 3rd down situations, get the pace going with that read option package and with fast developing bootlegs to get the ball outside to langford asap. C’mon Gase, we need you from the jump. Cutty has to pull some shit out of his ass today with WR weapons missing.

    • CanadaBear

Expected Royal and Forte, not Alshon. Fuck! Unlike a lot of others on here, I say pay Alshon. He will be in a tier below the very top guys. The Bears have the cap space and White won’t be making big money for at least 3 more years (if he pans out).

      • Big Mike

He’s a part time player. He’s exceptional. I just don’t know what to do. If had torn something or pulled something, seems like he’s just broken all the time. None of his injuries are the result of a tackle. Just from running. How the hell do you hurt yourself just running.

    • Big Mike

AJ is a pain in the ass

    • Big Mike

These guys with 3,4,5,6 week long injuries. Nothing broken, nothing torn, WTF.

  • Irish Sweetness

    DaBearsBlog @dabearsblog

Biggest play of college football season officially becomes a certain punter acting like an idiot.

    > How do I youtube that?

  • Irish Sweetness

Look at the paws on Elway in that photo!

    • Big Mike

Same thing with Troy Aikman. When you see him in the booth and can get a look at his hands, it looks like he is wearing fake hands.

  • Shady

    • MB30SD

Am I being a dick by reposting this: https://imgflip.com/i/uj4ss

Going to be 79 without a cloud here today. This is why I don’t live in chi… or any other place.

Fuck that noise, I’m going surfing.

      • Shady

Don’t have the hair on your nuts…

        • MB30SD

          True, that would halp

          • Big Mike

I have a buddy who grew up in the city with me. He moved to SoCal about 10 years ago. He says his blood thinned out. This guy when he lived here had shorts and a sweatshirt on until it was <40. Now when the temperature hits 60 he dresses like an eskimo.

          • MB30SD

Yup, we’re total pussies about the cold

      • Cormonster

Here in Wisconsin, about 20% of guys are ecstatic about some snow cover for the opening weekend of deer hunting season. It’s bigger than religion in this state for the next 9 days. You DO NOT work or take a walk in the woods until after Thanksgiving weekend if you don’t want the possibility of being shot.

        • MB30SD

          hahahaha… CORM! That sounds terrifying.

Where the fuck you been man? Decided just to be an occasional contributor this year?

          • Cormonster

I been working or out of town most weekends this year and only seen one full game (Detroit – awful) and parts of two other games, so any opinions on the Bears by me are unqualified. I’ve kind of lost my passion for the NFL for several reasons, so I’d rather do other stuff on the weekends. That said, I’m still a fan of the blog and like to skim through the comments most days. I gotta go work on some chain saws at the shop now, but hope to catch some of the game today. Bear down!

          • MB30SD

Boom! glad you still hang my maings. Enjoy the chainsaws.

          • CanadaBear

It ain’t all chainsaws. He’s going to see and hear plenty of good music live!

          • Cormonster

I’ve been on a music roll. 5 great shows in the last 4 weeks. I seen a totally kick ass Minneapolis band last night called Soap. So tight. I planned on only staying for the first set, but didn’t end up getting home until 2:45am.

          • CanadaBear

I saw Dave and Phil Alvin the other night. Killer show. The woman on drums was incredible. Going to see Big Sandy and the Fly Rite Boys next Wed and Kim Wilson in a couple of weeks. Gotta love live music!!!!!!!!

          • Yeah, I feel ya about losing some interest in the NFL. Hopefully, they get all that shit (like what a catch is, actually being able to hit hard, etc) figured out pronto right in time for our glorious sb run.

        • willbest

I thought deer hunting season has been open for a couple weeks now.

          • Huge Bear’s Penis

i thought there was like 8 different seasons, Bow, Shotgun, muzzleloader, pistol, spear, rock, blowgun, knife.

          • Cormonster

Gun season just opened. Bow hunting has been going on for awhile.

      • Johnnywad

Prolly get your dick bit off by a shark if you keep this up. It’s only fair

        • MB30SD

          I think that’s fair enough.

On a side note, that would still be a very hungry shark after. :_ (

      • T’Challa

While its true you don’t have snow there, the way it looks, you will soon have no NFL football either.

        • MB30SD

hahaha, no one (the vast majority) gives a shit my man. Hence the current situation. Can you imagine the public outcry if what was happening here happened in a place like Chi, or green bay, or even cleveland?

You can surf, ski, hunt, dune buggy in the desert, etc… etc… all in the same day and the people are beautiful my maings.

WAY too much other shit to do for 90% of the pop to give a rat’s ass. Besides, I’m a Bears fan! BOOM!

          • T’Challa

True!!! Having lost the Clippers or Braves (whichever they were called back then) and now the Chargers is not the best for sports fans. Having once all three major sports and going down to one can’t be good.

          • MB30SD

not from a local biz/city revenue standpoint, but the gen pop doesn’t care about that either. It’s just a different culture/thought process over here.

          • T’Challa

            “Just catching some waves.” Hahahaha

          • it happened in cleveland. fat lot of good that did with mr. modell.

          • MB30SD

I know… but they got a ‘team’ back

          • Big Mike

Sail, windsurf, snorkel, fish, SD is paradise.

    • Big Mike

      That’s not cold.

  • T’Challa

    Game day!

    Bear down!

  • T’Challa

With all the injuries and games missed by Jeffery, I hope that brings down his price in FA.

    • MB30SD

      yeah right

      • T’Challa

I would like to think he wouldn’t get top dollar after now missing 5 out of ten games.

        • MB30SD

He’ll say, ‘i get it, but look what I do when I’m healthy… and I won’t have another year of injuries. This year was just bad luck, Pay me.’

          • T’Challa

If this was his only year of injuries, he could blame it on luck. But since his 1st year was also filled with injuries, Pace could argue its a trend.

          • MB30SD

agree to an extent, but the lure of those big games he has will definitely get him paid… somewhere.

          • T’Challa

Hopefully he stays here. I really want to see him, White, and Royal on the field together under Gase. His injuries have to be a factor in negotiations.

          • MB30SD

I’m with you, but if homie can’t stay on the fucking field, I’d rather us go another route.

Sadly, that’s going to be a gamble, so we’ll see.

          • T’Challa

The Bears can’t let a pro bowl WR walk though. It took them how many years before they finally got one? So, we have to keep him, just can’t pay top dollar for him.

          • MB30SD

            therein lies the conundrum right?

          • Trac

They’ll find a way, Fox and Gase can’t afford to let him walk.

          • Trac

Stick to focusing on safeties that will destroy running backs and WR’s coming across the middle, mmmkay.

            Alshon stays!

          • they’ll be a factor in his negotiations with Chicago, but some other team will pay for the potential of having him for 16 games.

            franchise him and trade him.

          • Big Mike

            Hadn’t thought of that.

    • willbest

      They need to pay Jeffery.
      1) The have no idea what White can do.
      2) The rest of their WR is lacking
      3) Jeffery commands respect from defenses, even if he isn’t Bryant, Brown, or Jones.
      4) He is the best WR FA on the market by a good deal so there aren’t any other options

Now what they might do is tag him for 13.25 million next year, see what they have in White and see if he can stay healthy.

Ideally for the Bears Jeffery would sign some 4-year 52 million deal, with say 26 guaranteed, but also have $8 million of that be tied up in active roster bonuses. But good luck getting Jeffery to agree to it since there will be a team out there willing to just give him the money and assume the risk themselves.

      • T’Challa

That’s why Pace is making the big money… for decisions like these.

      • Trac

When healthy, he’s a top 3 WR. Make no mistake, he will get paid, I just hope it’s with the Bears.

    • I hope so too, but the thing is, some idiot team will offer him the moon, and we’ll have to match said idiot team.

  • Shady

Denver’s Chris Harris Jr. says Donkey will recognize play signals from history with Gase.

    • MB30SD

fuck chris harris jr., and the entire broncos organization.

Interesting, given that plays are radioed in to the QB now.

    • Works in reverse too.

Proud to announce that I’m coming home from the hospital as a new pop. Baby girl was 7lb 9oz. I’ll probably miss most of the game but worse things have happenned. And my baby wants a Bears victory. Fuck them Donks! Bear down, gentlemen!

Congrats Ben! Hopefully mom and baby are doing fine. What a load!!!!!!!!! Best wishes!

That’s great Ben. There is nothing better than your brand new baby asleep on your chest while you watch the game. Nothing .

    • Irish Sweetness

      Certain victory. Congrats Ben!

    • Congrats, Ben!

  • AlbertInTucson

Sander WILL play for Denver today.

    • Bender McLugh

      He’s out

  • The Yes Guy

    Yes?

  • willbest

I tend to think the way Pox reports injuries is to understate them as much as they are allowed to under the code of conduct. The result is a bunch of players that are day to day with muscle tears.

    • Big Mike

has to be. Because nobody is out 6 of 10 weeks with the BS injuries that AJ reportedly has. This team is somewhat cursed. Haven’t put the starting group out there 1x. WR core of Wilson, some scrub and some other scrub, not going to be able to do shit. Don’t be surprised to see double TE, two RB sets today. Put best guys on the field.

      • willbest

I like Bellamy, but Talib is baller. At least they don’t have Ware. I know the backup is solid too, but Jay has been getting it done against some stout fronts.

  • willbest

Ads to end Ethanol mandates in IL? They trying to start a civil war in IL

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

    cowardly call Gase.

  • Irish Sweetness

Grasu being back is good, but seeing Wilson and Bellamy as your top two means it might be a long day.

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

4th and 6 inches. Punt? Pussy.

  • BearDown100393

    DirecTV sucks.

  • Shady

That’s some shit. Fox and Fangio better get up someone’s ass.

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

putting the game in the hands of the D…….smh.

  • Irish Sweetness

Like I was saying about Brock on his first start ….. I mean his first throw?

    • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

      white safety.

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

i still can’t get over how cowardly the 4th down call was. What an incredible kick in the nuts. It’s 6 inches. You can fall forward and get it. Momentum killed and 7pts immediately the other way.

    • Shady

It’s the first drive of the game against the leagues best D. It wasn’t the punt, it was the horrible defense.

Langford…..not Forte when it comes to catching.

    • willbest

Doesn’t help when the defender grabs your arm, without looking for the ball

      • SC Dave

Agreed, but it would not have surprised me to see Forte catch it anyway

    • Irish Sweetness

Gah. He’s been awesome in the receiving game.

      • Shady

Except for that drop on 4th down to essentially end the game a few weeks ago.

        • Irish Sweetness

          Matt’s dropped those too.

      • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

specificaly referring to that type of adjustment. turn body = ball falls into hands.

  • SC Dave

Well, good robbie stuff anyway. Fg good and unreturnable kickoff

  • Irish Sweetness

    Nice blitz.

  • willbest

Love the commentators… Brock lucky that ball wasn’t picked off. What a hoot. He could throw it straight at our Secondary with little risk of that. 4 of our 5 INT are by LBs

  • willbest

    Bellamy!!!

  • Shady

Nice hurry up play call for a HUGE 3rd down conversion to Bellamy.

  • DaMurph

Ya couldnt keep your feet under ya Bellamy?

    • willbest

      Throw was off

  • Shady

    Grasu with no shot.

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

Gase needs to scheme against that tj ward blitz. TE needs to be running more of a short vertical route and not that flat route on 3rd and 5

    • Irish Sweetness

      Hear that, Gase? PLAY BALL!

  • willbest

    Gould you magnificent bastard

  • Irish Sweetness

I’m going to advocate three blitzes in a row here, anyone ? Bueller?

  • Jack Lacan

Assweiler…What a punk! Although he could kill me with one swipe of his arm.

  • Jack Lacan

It WILL take some touchdowns to win today.

  • Shady

Bears get the ball in plus territory and end up punting. Awful.

    • Irish Sweetness

I watched Indy punt it from the opposition’s 40 … and got a touchback. I love football.

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

    pls dont let them score.

    Denver apparently only wants 3

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

why??? why do we just let them drive the fucking length of the field?

    • willbest

      Cause our D isn’t good

  • Jack Lacan

    He’s Denver’s Ben Rothlisberger…but Ben’s uglier…

      Brock to the Hall? SMFH

    • willbest

      Only down 4 points

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

was there any fucking doubt that this is exactly what would happen on this drive??? Did we expect anything different?? You can’t just let him sit there and go 9 for 9 on a drive you fucking cocksuckers.

  • Jack Lacan

Why does Rotweiler have to prove he’s a “big time” quarterback —here?
He needs to have some injury just to show he’s in the NFL.

  • Jack Lacan

We’re hanging around in the “second set”…Need more serve and volley.

  • Jack Lacan

Perry Como throwing TD’s for Cowgirls…

  • willbest

    shit Donald broke forsetts arm

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

we give up a majority of our points on the first drives. You have 4th and 4 inches and you don’t convert. You punt and then have your safety Prosinski drop 40yds fucking back on a normal pass and they score on a random pass that they expected to get 8 yds on.
Then you run the opposite type of run plays that are actually working so you can ensure 1yd on first down instead of the plays that Denver is having trouble stopping.
Then you let Brett Osweiler drive 80 yards like Joe Fucking Montana to score right at the end of the half because your such a huge pussy that you can’t come up with a better scheme to bring more pressure on a guy in his first fucking start. You bring the heat, force a quick throw then crash down on it….it’s the fucking playbook in the league to stop the Broncos.
COACHING FUCKING SUCKS TODAY. That’s not even mentioning to shitty blocking and the piss poor defense.

    • Jack Lacan

Brock — It is difficult to imagine someone naming their son Brock, but there you have it…

Joe Fucking Montana is a curious given name.

      • MB30SD

brock out with your cock out jack.

      • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

it didn’t matter what his fucking name was Jack. The Bears defense made damn sure that everyone in the league knows it’s Brock now. That was the point.

    • SC Dave

Wow… fucking relax. This team.is better than us,.and we will win anyway

  • EnderWiggin

    McMantis where he belongs.

  • MB30SD

    Yonny fired up today

This one’s for you my maingses: https://imgflip.com/i/uk808

  • Jack Lacan

Brock’s wife is unreal…I’d rather look at her photos than his short arm passes.

    • MB30SD

jack, you know better than this. link please.

  • MB30SD

    I’m stuck with carolina/washington.

Uhhhhggggg… is is just me or is cam newtons call at line so fucking annoying. reeeeeaddddddyyyyyy!

    • There’s this crazy invention called the internet. I heard you can watch games on it, and from time to time, there’s a lil porn.

      • MB30SD

        I don’t break the law, I hear it’s illegal

  • willbest

    Bennett isn’t playing particularly well

    • Johnnywad

He’s dropping far too many balls. POD shitting the bed too now

    • SC Dave

Uni should be gone long before Forte is considered

  • MB30SD

just saw the TD by oswieler, total blown coverage.

    • SC Dave

      Wow, really?

      • MB30SD

I’ve already applied for Joe Buck’s position Dave. I think I have a good shot.

        • SC Dave

Lol.. mb for the win! Though i am of course guessing, i imagine it would involve a raise for yu too!

          • MB30SD

            probably.

  • SC Dave

    Ugly punt

  • KentuckyBearsFan

My fat sister can punt better then that.

  • willbest

WTF special teams. Do you guys just draw fucking lots to see who is going to dick the team over each week?

  • BillW

Players letting Fox down so far against his former team

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

god how many times do we have to hear “downward trajectory”

    • Johnnywad

Says it as though the dude is 12′ tall and its changing the way the game is played. His release point is probably 6 to 7″ higher than the next guy. Over 20 yards I’m not sure that angle really merits all the hub bub.

  • Bender McLugh

Fuller’s first pass breakup. He moved his head, that counts as turning his head. There’s 1!

  • Shady

He was down, and now he’s out. Not good.

  • SC Dave

That the dying for the extra yard you were after?

  • Shady

    fffffffffff

  • SC Dave

    Ouch

  • KentuckyBearsFan

Bad throw. But Cutler has ZERO wide receivers that actually fight for the ball.

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

amazing what turning your head around can accomplish

  • Shady

I guess we’re back to being a bad football team.

  • Irish Sweetness

Time for Mr. Prosicki to nick one.

  • BillW

Shaping up to be the first truly bad game after the Clausen era ended

And of course no 3rd quarter points

    We own the fourth though

    • Irish Sweetness

We’ll need to. This is a good team we’re playing.

      • BillW

Big big play even though it was a qb trip. We’ll take it

  • SC Dave

A stop would be sweet here

  • Irish Sweetness

Thank you for tripping up your RB, Crock.

  • SC Dave

    WOOOOOOOOOT!

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

it was the downward trajectory of the handoff that forced Osweiler to trip the rb.

    • SC Dave

      WHATEVER it takes!

  • Shady

Why did they blow the play dead?

    • MB30SD

      that’s what your mom asked

    • EnderWiggin

      Save Cutty’s life?

    • willbest

Because Cutler isn’t Rodgers so we don’t get free plays

  • MB30SD

this carolina game is unwatchable. They are destroying the skins. jesus, this is all I got?!

  • Shady

Let’s go O, finish this drive off the right way.

  • EnderWiggin

We got lucky on that call…

  • BillW

I take back everything I said. They are fired up now

  • Shady

Somebody stop Aqiub Talib before he pokes somebody’s eye out.

  • Shady

Need to find other ways to get Langford the ball.

  • Johnnywad

    Bennett is becoming Kellen Davis

    • Huge Bear’s Penis

      ouch thats rough

    • MB30SD

way off base. wow. keep it clean man.

      • Johnnywad

He’s dropping more balls than he’s catching.

        • MB30SD

I know. calling a dude kellen davis is rough though.

          • Johnnywad

He’s becoming the Chris Conte of Tight Ends

          • MB30SD

            hahahaha

          • The GP

            Conte CARED

          • Johnnywad

I know. That was custom fit for MB

    • Scharfinator

      Atrocious play from him.

  • willbest

Be nice if Cutler had somebody to throw the ball to with all that time the O-line gives him

    • Irish Sweetness

Keeping a nice clean pocket today.

  • MB30SD

just be happy cutler isn’t kirk cousins today. That carolina D is basically raping his entire family at this point. jesus.

    • Irish Sweetness

Only 1 INT. Cam has 5 TD passes though.

  • The GP

Does Martellus Bennett give a shit? Does anybody have evidence?

    Exactly

    • Irish Sweetness

And not necessarily in that order.

  • EnderWiggin

Lobster coughs one up this series.

  • The GP

Cam Newton has 5TDs but I only have 29 FF points.

Butch’s scoring system is for shit

    • It’s not 6 point per TD passes. That’s just nuts in a two QB league.

Must’ve had short fields. Yards and completions count, as they should.

Also, fucking Forsett went down. Damn. This might be your year after all.

  • SC Dave

    Time for 4th quarter Jay!

    • Scharfinator

Look at that Jay loving optimism! HEAR HEAR

  • Shady

Too fucking easy, our LBs are garbarge.

    • MB30SD

      yes

    • The GP

      McPhee is getting chopped

  • willbest

    Wow Acho looks clueless

  • Irish Sweetness

CJ Anderson fears contact. He is not a ‘hard man’.

  • SC Dave

    Turnover time

  • willbest

Tampa is making Philly their bitch

  • Shady

    cmonnnnnnnnnn

  • SC Dave

    Sigh

  • KentuckyBearsFan

The Bears secondary was just defeated by a guy named….Cody.

  • SC Dave

Looks like we need 4 th quarter jay. You know, like get a fucking TOUCHDOWN

  • EnderWiggin

We got this upcoming two point conversion.

  • BillW

Good offense considering no receivers and a te who doesn’t want to play

    Defense is simply over matched.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Cutty time. We got this.

    • MB30SD

Imma take a nap now. I expect you guys to lift us to a win by the time I wake up.

  • KentuckyBearsFan

    15!

  • BillW

I love you Jay! Yes, I said it!

  • Trac

It’s time for 21 unanswered points.

  • The GP

TJ Ward thinks he’s Brandon Meriweather

  • SC Dave

Terrible throw…. mayne his head was still ringing from that cheap shot that should have.got that asshole ejected

  • The GP

  • Shady

Fucking red zone execution. COME ON!

  • Irish Sweetness

    Martellus is fat garbage.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Marquess Wilson is skinny garbage.

  • Shady

    Just awful.

  • willbest

Should have run it in yourself Jay

  • SC Dave

Fucking idiot. Take the goddamn field goal

    • EnderWiggin

      No shit. What the fuck?!

  • KentuckyBearsFan

    Well that sucked.

  • The GP

  • Pissed Off

    This team is terribly frustrating

    • Irish Sweetness

      Wilson and Bennett certainly are.

      • The GP

Wilson runs three types of routes:

        Sloppy
        Half-hearted
        Totally wrong

It’s just a matter of which one you get

  • Irish Sweetness

Positive. If we have our receivers, we’re a good team.

    • KentuckyBearsFan

Or maybe we should have drafted Gurley.

  • SC Dave

I had a bad feeling when cutler underthrew wilson. And far worse when we went on 4 th down. Fucking stupid

  • The GP

You need a two-point conversion anyway. Take the easy 3 points. Especially with 10 minutes left. -Hoge

    Ed Zachary

  • Irish Sweetness

Not taking the FG is unbelievable.

    • willbest

Should never have snapped the ball. Take the Delay of game trying to draw them off. And kick the FG

  • SC Dave

    Soon to be 26-9

    • Irish Sweetness

      SMH.

  • Irish Sweetness

    STOP. STOP. STOP.

  • willbest

Stop or lose the game at this point

  • SC Dave

And i thought they were dumb enough to go for that and return the favor…

  • Irish Sweetness

    Nice one, Crock.

  • SC Dave

    Phew… a punt successfully fielded

    • willbest

No need to worry about that. Its the punters week to stink it up

  • SC Dave

    Jay time?

    • EnderWiggin

      Mr 4th Quarter.

  • BillW

    Weird game.

  • SC Dave

    I miss Matt Forte

    • BillW

      Me too

  • willbest

    Hey bennett

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

    wow bennett caught one

    • Irish Sweetness

Right in front of his face, in stride, where it has to be with him.

  • SC Dave

    Nice catch uni

  • SC Dave

    Its Miller time!

  • Irish Sweetness

Gee, that FG would have been nice, Foxy.

    • SC Dave

      Dont matter now

  • Shady

    uggggggh

  • Irish Sweetness

    WTF happened – I was typing …

    • SC Dave

An alert dt is what happened

  • BillW

Fitting way for a weird game like this to end.

  • SC Dave

Well, at least we were entertaining

  • BillW

    One more possession. Cmon d!

  • BearDown100393

    Derp.

  • Irish Sweetness

And it goes down as an interception sadly.

    • EnderWiggin

      just what the media wanted.

    • SC Dave

      The dt deserved it though

  • SC Dave

    Fuck it. Were winning!

    • Bender McLugh

      DON’T CARE. BEAR DOWN

  • Irish Sweetness

    Eh …. Cutty time. Again.

  • SC Dave

Okay. If i bitch about refs today,.tell me to fuck off. Good thimg it was not brady or rodgers there, or we would be looking at p.f. and first down bad guys

    • Bender McLugh

      Falling down is not sliding.

  • BillW

OK. We have no receivers and we will have to g a long way then get a 2

But played them ok given the circumstances

    • SC Dave

      Fuck it, we’re winning. Yes

      • BillW

        I’m with you

  • SC Dave

    Fuck it, we’re winning

  • KentuckyBearsFan

We’re only a 9-point conversion from winning. Yes.

  • SC Dave

Ok, maybe i was early on miller time before

  • EnderWiggin

(That looked like decent coverage to me)

  • SC Dave

Gee… Fan Duel must be on us today

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

    fuck yeah!!!

  • SC Dave

Ok… td done. Now for the conversion

  • Irish Sweetness

But we didn’t kick the FG ….

  • Irish Sweetness

Cutty was great again, no matter what.

  • SC Dave

    Were not fucking winning. 🙁

    • BillW

That was everything we had. Everything. Gotta love them

  • SC Dave

    That.play had no chance

  • Irish Sweetness

Best D in the league, that had to be a pass.

  • KentuckyBearsFan

I think we all saw that coming.

  • Bender McLugh

    Run fooled nobody, lame

  • SC Dave

In hindsight, play action would have been better

    • The GP

      Hroniiss Bonus

  • Irish Sweetness

John Fox cost us the game. Simple.

    • EnderWiggin

An extra 3 points look really good about now.

    • Johnnywad

John Fox is the ONLY reason they didn’t lose by four touchdowns

      • Irish Sweetness

And then he cost us the game. There was what, eleven minutes left?

        • Johnnywad

I applauded the call when he made it. Too damn hard to get that close against Denver.

    • Jack Lacan

      Blame game????

  • The GP

    FADE TO BLACK!!!!!!!!!

  • willbest

    Miss that FG

  • KentuckyBearsFan

Our Special Teams are Special Olympics special.

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

plus side for today, no penalties, O-line played pretty damn good.

    • Irish Sweetness

Cutty was good. Defense wasn’t bad.

  • Trac

And there’s your missing field goal for the difference in the game. Total blunder. I’m looking at you gase!

    • Irish Sweetness

Got to be on the HC.

    • Jack Lacan

      Blame????

    • BillW

That’s a;ways the head coach call. What is Gase going to say – no John, we can’t get this.

      • Trac

He should have. I’m thinking Fox said it’s your csll. That’s how you build up you coaches but you’re prolly right, Fox should gave saved Gase from himself in that situation.

  • The GP
  • KentuckyBearsFan

We fall off the bus running.

  • chitownproud85

At least we can stop the Playoff talk now. It was freaking absurd. ENJOY a team that fights for every inch, every time. The idea(that this blog kept blogging about as well) that this was even close to a playoff team is…ridiculous. Reality folks – this is a team that wants it. Reality folks – this is a team not quite good enough to get it yet. Injuries out the ass, kids playing everywhere, straight madness – and yet they are dog fighting for every inch. I love my Bears, and they will keep fighting – but cmon man, playoffs? Lol.

    • EnderWiggin

Oh, we ARE going to the playoffs! (Until math says otherwise)

      • Jack Lacan

        Why not – Bears!!!!!!

    • The GP
    • Irish Sweetness

What? We were playing a top team today. We were right in that game against a top defense. If Fox kicks the FG, then we win! We were a throw and a catch away from tying it up! But we ran.

If the Broncos make the playoffs, we’re as good as them. Easily.

      • chitownproud85

So the squad you saw with the C on their helmets today are a playoff squad? Thats what you saw? I love them, too. Its the Bears. But no, that is not a playoff team that took the field. If you add Alshon/Matt/Eddie, maybe it is. But you cant/dont. This is an injured team. This is a team using a C and LT that they had no intention of starting this year. It has a pro bowl G playing RT(very well, thanks to the fact that he is clearly an all-world talent), a defense that is basically the island of misfit toys(Fangio for president – seriously). This was a 2-5 team until they pulled off back-to-back road wins. Brock Owerw;lksjd;fs beat us today. This team has a ways to go. Very proud, and yes – the Bears are coming for everyone. Playoffs? Queue Mora, ASAP

    • willbest

Nah Indy knocked off the Falcons, if we win out it will mean a playoff bid

      • Irish Sweetness

As guaranteed by Irish, and thank you Tampa.

  • KentuckyBearsFan

    Out-Foxed.

    • Bender McLugh

      Now I don’t like you

      • KentuckyBearsFan

        Sorry. I couldn’t help it.

        • Bender McLugh

Fair enough, I just really wanted our boys to get this win

          • BillW

Being disappointed that they didn’t beat a 7-2 is really another sign of how far the Bears have come already

  • The GP
  • Irish Sweetness

Anyone get CHI +3 early? Bugger.

  • Johnnywad

I’m laughing at all you bastards. “John Fox is too conservative. He’s so conservative he’ll never win a Super Bowl . . . .. .blah blah blah”. Then the guy hangs his cock out against a team NOBODY gave the Bears a snowballs chance in hell of beating just 3 games ago. He goes for the TD, which everybody was clamoring for instead of FG’s. It didn’t work out so now he’s the goat. Wonder what the story would be should the Bears have picked it up. One play.

    • The GP
    • willbest

4&7 with 6 minutes left to play down 8 points is not aggressive its stupid.

      • Huge Bear’s Penis

i didn’t mind the call especially the way Denver was running the ball all over us. who would have guessed we would have stopped them and got the ball back.

        • SC Dave

You had to stop the ANYWAY.

        • willbest

Say you get the TD. You still need the 2 point conversion, and either way you have to make a stop or you are stuck scoring again.

          • Bender McLugh

It was all about executing the 2pt

          • Irish Sweetness

No it wasn’t! You kick the FG and all you have to do is score the TD, which we did. We always do.

          • Bender McLugh

            I think I’m confused. …..

          • Bender McLugh

Confused as to which pay were talkin about

          • Johnnywad

The game doesn’t just stop there. Say you take the 3 points and they run another 10 play TD drive down the Bears throat. Now the games out of reach altogether. Or suppose they score on the 4th down play. It’s easy to sort it out in hindsight. Sometimes you take a swing and miss. Fox did.

I just find it difficult to believe everybody bitches so much about Fox not taking chances, and when he finally does, we bitch about that too. He’s doing pretty damn well with a roster most here thought was capable of losing 16 games. I’m going to back him on this one.

          • willbest

You are either down 8, 5, 2 or tied. A 10 play TD drive by Broncos leaves you boned in any case where you don’t get the TD and 2 points. But if you don’t get any points, so does a 10 play FG drive

          • chitownproud85

            Yeap.

          • Irish Sweetness

            But … they DIDN’T HAVE A 10 PLAY TD DRIVE …..

          • BillW

Yes – Fox is doing great with this roster. And while I disagree with the decision I do not fault Fox or his logic. It’s a risk either way and he knows BOTH teams better than any of us.

          • Irish Sweetness

He took a chance when he didn’t need to. Kick the FG. You would have won the game, all things being equal.

      • BillW

Absolutely/ Well, maybe not stupid but too risky.

It’s not conservative to kick there/ It’s accepting reality.

    • chitownproud85

100% believe in the field goal there, because logic dictates you take the field goal there. That being said – I freaking love this team, and they definitely have the right coach to get it turned around. This game was on the players, not the play calling. Too many injuries, not enough ammo. Love ’em, but yes – you take the points in a 1 score game with 10 minutes to play. “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush”

      • Bender McLugh

        Ritz.

    • Bender McLugh

      He’s all about execution

    • He seemed to have a case of the trestman’s today. aggressive when he shouldn’t have been (going for the TD) conservative when he should’ve been aggressive (running for a two pointer).

But it’s only one game against a tough D. I could see the logic in both, I just didn’t agree with either call.

  • The GP

    10-6 starts here?

    • Johnnywad

      Yes. Yes it does.

    • chitownproud85

I cant wait until they beat the Packers on Thanksgiving night(they will, btw). They know what it takes to win on the road, and the Packers do not have a defense like the Broncos. BEAR DOWN!

  • willbest

Got the under on the lions raiders, but not the points. Also got pummeled picking the skins. Not a good week for me

    • Irish Sweetness

Me neither. Tampa and Indy won for me, but the Beloved and Minny and the RayDurz all had to suck.

Still, whoever the Ravens are playing next week are a lock!

  • BillW

There was a point in the game when I thought they were simply letting Fox down. Either I wasn’t paying attention or a fire was lit. Still not enough to beat a team as good as Denver but it was more than encouraging. It was inspiring.

I want Jay Cutler as our QB through the end of his career. He knew he had no receivers. Needed Uni and probably said something to get him to wake up.

The run was inspiring – this time he know he simply had to get every yard he could and so no slide. Got them all plus 15! THAT’S a real leader and a real Chicago Bear!

Gentlemen – the glass is not half empty. Nor half full. Pace and Fox are still mixing the cocktail. Tastes OK right nor but needs more. There is a great team being built, I really can feel it.

    • Johnnywad

I agree. It’s amazing what this team looks like under professional coaching and what may just be a very sharp GM. Can’t wait to see what they can do when the whole roster is their own

      • SC Dave

Gase is just sooo different. A competent oc… hell, exceellent oc.

        So *totally* unBearslike

        • Captain Obvious

Still need a competent ST coach, though. They’ve been awful ever since Dave left.

          • SC Dave

Agreed, but the Bears have NEVER* had an OC better than mediocre, and most were poor to awful.

            * well, not in my lifetime anyway

  • RenoBear

Hmmm Rodgers career record vs teams with a winning record? 8-19… Pretty damn poor against quality teams. So he likes to beat up and pad stats against weak sisters… Shocking

    • willbest

I believe that was road wins against winning teams, and what QB has a good record in that situation?

      • chitownproud85

I was going to say…no way thats correct. Hes been stumbling a little and I know we all hate him but lets not get stupid with it…the guy is good..lol

      • RenoBear

Yes, I forgot to type ‘road’… But for all the knob slobbing that goes on with him, you’d think it would be at least .500 or better. It’s one of Rodgers dirty little secrets along with his inability to come back in games they are trailing.

    • FourFeathers

He’s the best player in the NFL and has been for awhile. But yeah make fun of him.

      • BillW

Agree he’s the best. But he seems to lack a mental gear when they are behind late. But that’s not a bad weakness to have when you are rarely behind late.

    • Jack Lacan

That’s why he has that shit eating grin before he takes the field on every offensive change.

  • Shady

Ravens win, but Flacco done for the year. ACL.

    • willbest

Ravens were done for the year anyway. Nice of them to deliver a 4-5 NFC team a loss though

      • BillW

Now we get to see what Trestman can do with a backup QB

        • SC Dave

          McCown, par deux?

    • MB30SD

      downloading………

    • And dirty rams broke Forsett’s arm. FUCK.

So now both Foster and Forsett went down for me.

      #FFwoes

      • Irish Sweetness

New RB in town in KC.

        • West is LONG gone, unless he went down too.
It’s a pretty competitive deep league. Sucks you couldn’t join cuz of the draft time. Maybe next year we can change up the time, or you can just do a line of coke and draft like a madman

  • willbest

Vikings must have borrowed the Bears ST this week. Missed extra point, and then a 70 yard KO return

  • MB30SD

will be nice when we have our #1 and 2 wrs and our starting RB back in the lineup.

Any word on when all that will happen?

    • DaMurph

Probably not this season the way things have been going.

      • MB30SD

        sigh.

        …MURPH!

        • DaMurph

Every week either Royal or Alshon or both are out. Kevin White I believe they are leaving out for the year. Not sure why, unless a Dr. says the longer he waits the better the heal.

          • willbest

At this point Bears would need to win out to make the playoffs, might as well shut him down for the season rather than risk reinjury.

          • Irish Sweetness

Or try and win out, in which case you need Kevin White.

  • Trac

On the Raydah’s and 9ers? I told you so Jeff.

  • willbest

Thomas Rawls is a better RB than Marshawn Lynch

    • Irish Sweetness

Younger. Like Langford is younger than Forte.

  • SC Dave

I ddon know why you guys think Bridgewater sucks

    • willbest

Because he can’t win games the way Cutler can

      • SC Dave

Dont underestimate him. And he’s in year two. And culter has nothing to do with it

    • FourFeathers

He’s a second year player. His progression has actually been deeply impressive.

      • willbest

Is it him improving or the threat of AP?

    • BillW

This game will tell the tale. Against this defense he needs to take control for the full 60. If he can’t then he’s just another guy *EDIT – for now.

  • FourFeathers

Many of us as Bears fans don’t remotely appreciate what we have in John Fox and the coaching staff he assembled. We have horseshit talent all over the place and have been hit with key injuries. Yet we were competitive against the number one defense in football today. Think about that for a minute under the context of the talent we go to war with right now.

    • willbest

The knock on Fox is he is a great coach except for 3.5 hours on game day. Those of us that didn’t particularly want Fox in the first place said we would be respectable but he wouldn’t be able to get us to the promised land.

      • BillW

And thus many people believe (or hope) that he retires in a couple years and hands the reins to someone else

        • SC Dave

          Gase

        • FourFeathers

You sir are a moron not worthy of further comment by me. Anybody who would dare rip Fox on ANYTHING he has done is a 24 carat meatball idiot.

          • wait. is that a good or bad thing? 24 carat is pretty top notch.

          • Irish Sweetness

Eh .. like he lost us the game today by not kicking a FG? Argue with that fact.

      • FourFeathers

The Bears are devoid of talent all over the place and the job Fox and his staff have done in year one has been transformative. Fox is successfully changing a culture. We had no business even being close in this game.

        • willbest

The Bears D just made one of the most inept offenses in the league look respectable. The Bears offense which is largely the same players as last year looks respectable

          • FourFeathers

Hmm. Denver is a Super Bowl quality type team. They lost two games and they lost Manning. But they remain one of the top 4 or 5 teams in the NFL. But I get it. Better to rip Fox as part of a clueless meatball approach to fandom.

          • willbest

            Suck off troll

          • Johnnywad

They scored 17 points with two turnovers. One a very short field. That’s hardly a defensive failure when some fucking dude named Prosinski is your starting safety.

          • FourFeathers

            Exactly.

          • willbest

QB taking his first NFL start.
20/27 for 250 and 2 TDs. (2nd best QB performance by a Bronco this season)
170 rushing yards. (best rushing performance of the season)
21 first downs. (tied for second best)
            389 total yards. (3rd best)
0 turnovers (first time this season)
33 min TOP (best this season and only second time they won TOP)
So sure, objectively 17 points. But we got to play a JV offense.

          • Johnnywad

Perhaps. Osweiler may be very good. Seems to have the tools, the brains, and has certainly put in enough time to earn his shot. Kid looked alright. The point is, Fox and Fangio were able to hold them to 17 points, with Pernell McPhee and a bunch of dudes that wouldn’t start anywhere else. Seriously, who the fuck is Prosinski? I didn’t even know he was a Bear.

          • willbest

Probably some homeless guy that wandered into Halas Hall on Wednesday and they were short a player for defensive drills so they slapped some pads on him and liked what they saw.

          • Irish Sweetness

Like Vadgers he learned the game sitting on the sidelines, although he nearly lost his team the game with a delay of game penalty.

          • AlbertInTucson

Points allowed is the only statistic that really means squat.

          • Irish Sweetness

And Cincy lead that, so the Arizona should be interesting.

          • Irish Sweetness

They put up 17 points – hardly respectable – and we fucked away 3 points losing by 2.

The offense looks more explosive than last year’s, with Langford and Miller, no?

        • SC Dave

          Especially withso many starters out

          • as long as bellamy is on the field, we can compete with the all time greats.

        • Irish Sweetness

Where are we “devoid of talent all over the place” ?

I’ll give you NT, DE …..

          • FourFeathers

We have virtually nothing at DE. We need major help at ILB. We also need somebody opposite McPhee at OLB. And Safety is a mess outside of the rookie. And we need a CB big time once the pixie dust wears off Porter.

And that’s just the defense. To look at the talent Fox inherited would have been to conclude we are a 4-5’win team max in 2015. Fox has been brilliant in leading this thing. Yet we have a small number of meatball idiots who want to rip Fox. It’s beyond unbelievable.

    • BillW

Under Tresty and Tucker this would have been a beating of Jefferson proportions.

    • Irish Sweetness

He lost us the fucking game !! Most of the fourth quarter left and goes for it on 4th against one of the best defenses int eh business!

But you’re right about putting up a decent performance agaisnt a good team. We are good when healthy-ish.

  • SC Dave

Intense game with fudge and queens

  • SC Dave

One thing i gotta say about bridgewater is that he is no more likely to get the flag on cheap shots than jay. Maybe less so, if one could believe that

    • willbest

A friend of mine is a Broncos fan, and when Soldier Field sacked Brock and the Bears came in and bumped him rather than gently finger tapping him he was screaming “roughing the passer”. To which I said “Sit down, that isn’t Peyton Manning, so he doesn’t get Peyton Manning’s rule book”

  • madscout12

Must be nice to get 12 chances at the end zone everytime in the red zone.

  • Jack Lacan

Lovie believes he has a puzzle — now more pieces — or maybe get it out of the closet.

  • RenoBear

Goodness… We’ve got some real bitches on this blog. SMDH. Lighten up, fuckers. Y’all are a helluva drag

    • MB30SD

      jeeees!

  • Alshon being out has cost us like 3 games.
There has to be a way to deduct that from his next contract.

How much are a few wins and playoff contention worth?

  • This team is frustrating because they COULD’VE won every game Cutler was in.

I guess that type of frustration is preferable to last year’s, and might be seen as a sign of progress.

Our Oline is performing pretty well. Bushrod is riding pine, back up rook C, an OG playing RT, and vs a fierce pass rush, they held their own. That’s encouraging going forward.

On D, it is pretty amazing that we’re getting that production from that talent. I mean Prosinksi? WTF? Gason? Shea calling the shots. A rook S. Houston and Young both coming back from inj. Washington/Sutton/Allen/McDonald etc gone.

If I told you all this PS, you would’ve conceded the season and more 50burgers, but this D is being held together by solid coaching/technique/assignment and a coherent and opportunistic game plan.

    Porter is also plain balling.

Once we get another pass rusher and another S and beef up that Dline, we’re gonna be a force a la 9ers during their SB runs.

    • Irish Sweetness

If we get a Charles Haley … why not? Gaston looked a bit like that yesterday. Goldman is not the dude.

I’m on board with all of that – there was a lot of good to take away from that. Cutty delivers at the end of every game – it wasn’t his decision to piss away the FG opportunity. That really was inexcusable and cost us the game.

  • Irish Sweetness

Wow, the Fudgers are -8.5 against the Beloved next week.

Dallas are somehow favorites against Carolina?

    • It’ll make the victory that much sweeter.
      Fuck the Fudge

      • Irish Sweetness

        That’s a real push-all-your-chips-into-the-middle price.

  • Irish Sweetness

Sac – did you double up the Cards and Chiefs?

  • AlbertInTucson

Jameis Winston. 5 TD passes. THAT never would have occurred to me.

  • AlbertInTucson

Packers found there pass rush today though commentary on NFL radio place responsibility for at least couple on Bridgewater for hanging onto the ball too long.

They also said the Packers secondary was dinged up pretty good by the end of the game.

Not good for them in a short week.

Be nice to get Jeffrey back for Thursday but, again, the short week works against that..

    • Irish Sweetness

      (shrugs)

As long as we cover the spread, Al …

      (ducks)

  • Irish Sweetness

Hope nobody gets stung on Arizona, you were warned!

  • Irish Sweetness

Positives: Add to the list please.

    1. Both Amos and Fuller had 7 tackles, Amos also had a sack.

    2. We scored in the third quarter! The tide is turning …..

    3. Cutty came up trumps in the end. Again. Without the top three receivers on the roster. He doesn’t decide when to ignore a certain three points though. That’s John Fox. You don’t get your praises sung when you screw the pooch. That was a Chihuahua and a max-size tub of vaseline yesterday with 11 minute to go.
