  • Big Mike

My Super Bowl plans involve a tradition that I currently hate. My friends have loyalties across the NFL. In spite of being in DC there are not more Skins fans than any other group of fans. Most teams have a couple fans. The tradition is that seating is “assigned” by reverse draft order. We don’t have fans from every team and some teams have 1 fan and we limit seat selection preference to 4 per team. So AGAIN I’m picking near the end.

Last year I was horrible. Back of the room shitty bar stool. Now., the saving grace is that this tradition lasts at the most until halftime. There’s a ton of ball busting for about a quarter.. Also a 65 inch TV upstairs that has unofficially become Browns headquarters. Everyone sports a jersey or Sweatshirt from their team. Today I’ll be sporting my #54 home jersey and declaring that teams with first ballot HOFers get a pass into the good seats.

    • CanadaBear

Sounds like a fun place to watch the SB.

      • Big Mike

It really is. Although when the Bears were in it, I didn’t go. Watched in my own man cave with my brother.

        • CanadaBear

I would never go to a bar to watch a Bears playoff game. If they lost, I’m afraid I might run amok. JK. I just hate all the distractions when I’m trying to watch the game.

          • Big Mike

There are 4 places I will watch a Bears game. My house, my brother’s house, Soldiers’ Field, a warm city where the Bears are playing.

          • CanadaBear

I’ll go to a sports bar during the season. No way I’m going during the playoffs. I hate to admit it but I’ve lost a lot of enthusiasm for the Bears the last couple of years and can’t even be bothered to go. I just don’t see the game that week. Overall, I’ve spared myself some real frustration. Gotta admit I’m getting some of the enthusiasm back with the new staff and a QB that looks to have plenty of upside.

          • Big Mike

I watch em all. A season like this, the frustration was mostly in the first half of the season. Glennon, the loss to GB. The Steelers win, back to back over Baltimore and Carolina were the high points. But losing to GB after the bye week, was a dagger in any post season hopes. So there really wasn’t any frustration after that, just resignation. You look for enjoyment within good plays and progress being made by players, knowing you’re probably going to lose. I always say.. lets see how long the competitive part of the game lasts…

          • BenderMcLugh

            So agree with ya

          • Big Mike

Watching the first two weeks of the playoffs you see how far the bears have to go as a team and talent wise. Getting closer on both counts. No amount of talent was going to get the bears and Fox to a SB win. Right track now

          • Need more studs, plain and simple.

Even a team like SEA who didn’t make the playoffs rosters way more studs.

Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Jimmy Graham, Richard Sherman, Michael Bennett, Wagner, Doug Baldwin, Russell Wilson…

            We have…Hicks.

            That’s it.

And a bunch of ‘cross your fingers’ dudes.

This is why I wanted Pace to swing for the fences in FA from day 1. It takes a while to field that talent. Pace wasted 3 years.

And now we have Hicks combined with a plethora of garbage (Jay Howard, Wheaton, Rolle, Sims…)

          • Big Mike

We have emerging studs. But i don’t disagree. We need some top end guys. However, the talent level is way better than it was at the end of the Emery era.
My belief also is that collective talent creates the studs. Bears are close to that

          • Big Mike

But we were a very competitive team and were playing for something every week of the season

          • Bears were 14-34 under Fox. I don’t know about others, but I harbored no illusions every week.

When the 9ers got the ball back like at their own 10 with 2 mins left, we all KNEW how it was gonna end.

            Another Bears loss.

A lot of that had to do with Fox, but a lot of it had to do with lack of playmakers, which is Pace’s dept.

          • Big Mike

My post ended up in the wrong thread. “Competing for something every week” was in reference to the Lovie era.

          • Big Mike

This year we were 2-3 studs away from being averag to good. But I think we have 5 or 6 guys who are emerging studs.

          • willbest

If we had DeAndre Hopkins we would have been average. If we had DeAndre Hopkins and Aaron Donald we would have made the divisional round for sure.

          • Big Mike

Not this year, not with this staff. But I hear you.

          • 5-6 cross your fingers dude.

            I agree.

            Just no bonofide studs.

          • Big Mike

I’m thinking if we add some top end talent more of these cross your finger dudes will take off.

          • SC Dave

I consider Jordan Howard a stud. But thats just me.

          • He’s borderline, but I consider studs players who can take over games.

That’s hard to do when the game is on the line and you’re watching from the sideline because you can’t catch.

“cross your finger dudes” in his case means, “cross your fingers we’re not trailing late so he won’t be replaced by an FA or a rook”

          • willbest

His catch % was only like 6% lower than cohen’s. Cohen was just capable of doing a lot more with it when he got it in space.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

It looked to me Howard took over the Steelers game

          • He can take over some games when the Bears are within 1 score.

Then again, so can a lot of plodders, like Ajayi.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

smh. that thinking goes for a lot of players. Down by 2 scores, rarely will any player on defense takeover a game, and extremely few offensive players, outside a QB, would take over a game.

          • Irish Sweetness

Hicks, Fuller and Floyd. That’s about it.

          • John F

This is what it has come to as a Bears fan, pretty sad. Been like this since the end of Ditka’s reign.

          • Big Mike

Lovie had a very good run.

          • PPl act as if Lovie era didn’t give Bear fans hope.

BELIEVE ME, I’m no Lovie apologist (I didn’t coin Fox Albino Lovie for nothing), but when Hester returned that opening kick-off for a TD in the SB, no fan was cynical enough to not get excited and believe, if even for 1 minute, that MAYBE the Bears could pull it off.

          • Big Mike

The Bears were a very good team under Lovie for a BP number of years. There is no other way to frame it. They truly were a decent QB away.

          • willbest

I thought they could. Peyton isn’t Brady. Hell Peyton isn’t even Eli in the playoffs. A stop here, a turnover there, some good field position and maybe they win 17-13

          • CedDrunk not fumbling alone might’ve done it. Or just letting Jones keep running wild.

          • Irish Sweetness

God I miss that Moustache and sunglasses, Pacing up and down furiously chewing gum.

At least you knew somebody cared if we won or lost. Looking at Lovie or Fox, you’d never know.

          • CRAZYBEARNORTH48

            I was at that game
My first ever game at soldier field. .there’s no way they should of came out flat..an the challenge before the half ..fucking joke

          • Big Mike

I hate the Packers. Every game against them is a playoff game to me. Maybe more. That game flipped me squarely into the Firefox camp.

          • BearDown100393

It all changes beginning camp. This team is turning it around. I genuinely like this new coaching staff. I like Mitch’s attitude. I remain skeptical about Ryan Pace’s ability to add depth to this roster and look upon this off season as a make or break opportunity to prove himself. This defense will be nasty next season. This offense can only be better with the shackles off. Time will tell of course.

You forget how big these guys are. Urlacher was never really thought of as HUGE. But he still fills that door frame.

      • CanadaBear

I’m guessing he’s down about 30 lbs from his playing days but 6’4″ and 230 is still imposing as hell.

        • SC Dave

Good for him. Too many ex-players go the other direction.

          • It’s the “hair”

          • BerwynBomber

I still miss Lach’s natural bald look.

Don’t know if transplants work beyond the receding crowd. For complete bald guys looks too much like a rug.

          • It’s like seeing “skinny” Newman.

            Never get used to it.

          • BearDown100393

Made him feel self-conscious. He struck an endorsement deal for the plugs and he feels better. Good for Lach I guess.

          • SC Dave

            Hahaha

          • willbest

He is still single? I know he is a HoF player but a lot women are still going to be turned off by the Fat Bastard look.

      • Cormonster

He’s about the same size as Dent.

  • That Guy

Lach made it. Good for him, and good for the committee for picking guys who deserved it.

So, how many HoF LBs do the Bears have now? Is it enough to field an entire defense?

    • BearDown100393

Certainly enough to destroy any offense.

  • BearDown100393

“If the Eagles win the Super Bowl, Carson Wentz will never…ever…be seen with this ring in public. Ever.”

    This is just so stupid.

    • KentuckyBearsFan

Wentz will also convert to wide receiver in shame to honor his new master Nick Foles!

Everybody knows he didn’t play in the Super Bowl. He’ll wear the ring in public just to show how thankful he was for having great teammates. He just won’t wear it often. But at least once. And maybe in a few years auction the ring off and donate the proceeds to a Philadelphia charity.

      or….

he’ll wear the ring every damn day as a psychotic motivational tool and go insane. He’ll be like Norman Bates in Psycho but instead of imitating his mother he’ll start imitating Nick Foles. While wearing a dress and wig in a rocking chair.

      During the offseason, anyway.

      • BearDown100393

Agree with the comments but the Eagles first have to win the SB before Wentz can worry about Jeff’s hypothetical babbling.

        • KentuckyBearsFan

I think it’s because the thought of the Patriots winning has no novelty to it (besides most people hating New England).

          • BearDown100393

Perhaps. Easy to hate. Harder to build a better team to defeat them.

  • BearDown100393

This is both the best and worst day of the football season. Despite favorite team biases, SB features 2 teams that hauled ass through a 16 game season, endured the playoffs to earn a spot in the championship. It is a winner take all single game for the Lombardi Trophy watched around the globe. And yet it is also the end to a football season. Despite its faults, concerns for safety and health, and never ending political and social commentaries swirling around the sport, it remains the ultimate team sport and reflection of American values. I have no horse in this race. To me, it is always Bears or nothing. But I still want a competitive game to watch and witness. Because when it is over, it is a long wait time for next season.

    • Draft deluge in t-minus 24 hrs…

      • BearDown100393

Yeah I know….. thoughts on the draft after SB.

    • BerwynBomber

I’m certainly not a “Bears or nothing” guy but I almost invariably lose all emotional investment in the NFL at some point during the post-season.

This year that happened when Whiff Six occurred. I had adopted the Saints as a second team so that was a huge kick in the testicles.

Rooted for JAX two weeks ago, but didn’t really care about JAX themselves. Just wanted to see a team beat NE in Foxboro. (Had rooted for TEN to do the same a week earlier.)

I’ll root for PHI today but can’t say I care that much. The Nick Foles storyline just seems way too random.

A shame because Wentz vs. Brady could have been epic.

And as Jeff noted, the SB almost always feels a bit weird for us hardcore fans. It is New Year’s Eve for the amateurs.

      • SC Dave

        • AlbertInTucson

          Packers beat them, too.

            That’s when this game starts.

  • John F

    Looked like the Bears there

  • John F

    Presnap penalty kills the drive

  • John F

    Maybe not

  • BuddhaJoe

    Oh man Alshon.

  • BearDown100393

Alshon flashbacks to Bears wideout drops.

  • John F

    Turning point!

  • KentuckyBearsFan

On the bright side, that interception was like a really good punt dropped around the 5 or so.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Alshon giveth. Alshon taketh away.

    • BearDown100393

      Pace high 5s himself.

  • John F

Critical mistake, watch that Pats go 95 yards now

    • BearDown100393

This is where Drago beats the sh*t out of Apollo.

      • KentuckyBearsFan

        This is where Drago punts.

  • BearDown100393

I miss gratuitous Go Daddy commercial ads.

    • AlbertInTucson

I miss the Career Builder monkey spots.

  • Irish Sweetness

That’s more like it Jerry … I mean Alshon …. water finds it level.

  • John F

I always think of MLK when I see dodge trucks

    • BearDown100393

I liked the portfolio shot of the old white cowboy completely relating to King’s speech.

  • John F

Pats score here, score to take the lead in the third, game over

  • John F

15-13 at half, 20-15 after the first possession on the third, Pats blowout follows

  • BearDown100393

“The family of MLK is one of the most litigious in the world, protecting
every word he’s ever written or spoken. And they sold him out for
    DODGE?!??!”

Just wait for his hologram appearance alongside Prince during Timberlake’s shake & bake in 5 minutes.

    • KentuckyBearsFan

Besides the money grab, the King family is concerned that his legacy would be tarnished with widespread knowledge of him plagiarizing most of his theological dissertation at BU. That’s why they protect every word.

Apparently his weakness for women is not as much of a concern as plagiarism to the family.

      • BearDown100393

        Oh.

I guess I will cancel that Dodge truck purchase.

  • BearDown100393

    Eagles secondary flat out sucks.

  • John F

Told ya, Eagles secondary unaware there was a game today

  • John F

See you guys later, I can’t stand to watch this

  • BuddhaJoe

When did the Pats sign Barth?

  • BearDown100393

Pace is gonna sign this guy.

  • BearDown100393

    Trump hawking for Turbo Tax.

  • KentuckyBearsFan

Patriots playing touch football out there.

  • Malice Halice

    Is this a pro-Bowl game?

    • BearDown100393

      Flag football demo

      • Malice Halice

There’s a weebit too many big plays this far from both sides. It’s gettin sketchy

  • Irish Sweetness

Dana White, Marky Mark, everyone of these cock-knockers know they’re going to win.

    They cannot. Must not.

    (looks at The Fridge)

    Jesus, Fridge …

  • willbest

that is not a good play, they need to stop doing it

  • AlbertInTucson

    Yikes!

  • AlbertInTucson

They fear their own kicker THIS much?

  • KentuckyBearsFan

    FOLESADELPHIA!

  • AlbertInTucson

    Foles trumps Brady.

    • BearDown100393

      1st Half

      • AlbertInTucson

        Still, WOW.

  • BuddhaJoe

Wow did not see that one coming.

    • Irish Sweetness

That’s one of the best plays I’ve ever seen. That was so sweet.

      • evantonio

Better than the McKie fb dive?

  • Irish Sweetness

Nice play. Nice play. Ballsy. Good call too.

  • BearDown100393

Pace should sign Foles as a receiver.

  • AlbertInTucson

Screen or just chuck it deep and get your DPI call.

  • willbest

    Brady looking bad

    • BearDown100393

      Manning-ish

  • Malice Halice

Y’all still think they gone keep Wentz after the win? Yea I doubt it

    • BearDown100393

      Uh yeah.

  • KentuckyBearsFan

When Brady dropped that catch, he realized how old he really is.

Or will on the next sack.

    • BearDown100393

Tommy will just upgrade to TB12.20 and charge another 20 bucks for the new book.

      • KentuckyBearsFan

The last Patriot QB I saw run this slow was Drew Bledsoe.

  • Irish Sweetness

“If you give it right back to Brady there ….”
    ???
Brady would have been on the one yard line!

  • willbest

    wow he shouldn’t have run

  • willbest

    bad TO pats are gassed

  • AlbertInTucson

    Bradybrain cramp. Throw it away.

  • BearDown100393

What a worthless play call from McDaniels.

  • BearDown100393

Go ahead and get a sideline comment from Bill now.

  • KentuckyBearsFan

Maybe Brady’s been through so many of these he doesn’t have a sense of urgency anymore.

    • BearDown100393

Except when he needs to urinate.

      • KentuckyBearsFan

        Halftime.

  • Irish Sweetness

    JUSTIN!! JUSTIN!! EEEEK!

  • willbest

A challenge r to Rauner has the money to afford a SB ad? Who the fuck is her backer

    • BearDown100393

      Every other dairy company

    • evantonio

George Soros? The Koch Brothers? The Hillary Victory Fund? The SOTU Fundraiser?

  • KentuckyBearsFan

George Michael doesn’t look a day older.

  • James Wild

Loggains’ legacy lives on in the Superbowl.
Eagles got the idea for that play call when they saw the Bears run it while studying game tape

  • willbest

nice tribute to Prince and Minny

    • KentuckyBearsFan

Yes. About the only part I’ve liked so far.

    • BearDown100393

How many of those shrillers even know who Prince was?

  • KentuckyBearsFan

This show was pre-recorded before a live audience.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Music I found listenable.

Had a very “Michael Jackson” vibe.

  • SC Dave

Well, Eagles by 10 at half. Time for the refs to come around for Kraft.

    • willbest

      not if tom keeps missing

      • SC Dave

Expect zero pass rush for the rest of the game from Philly, and zero holds called vs. NE.

  • AlbertInTucson

    And now, the game begins.

  • ButtonShoes

    Pretty sloppy game so far.

I expect the refs to start shafting the Eagles now that the second half’s begun.

  • John F

Pats realize Gronk may be important

  • BearDown100393

    Malcolm Butler is cut.

  • ButtonShoes

Need a stop here, Eagles. Let’s see if you can get it.

  • John F

    Gronk MVP

  • ButtonShoes

    And no stop. Figures.

  • KentuckyBearsFan

Was Brady saving his arm for the second half?

    • John F

      Yes

    • BearDown100393

      Wobble Wobble

    • ButtonShoes

      Doesn’t he always?

      • KentuckyBearsFan

        …like an old pitcher.

Defense gets used to a bunch of softballs the first half and then must wildly adjust to the new speed second half.

Throws the defense’s reaction time way off.

I never noticed it being so obvious before.

  • BuddhaJoe

Eagles gotta start bringing some more pressure, they’ve been lucky but can’t keep giving Brady so much time.

  • ButtonShoes

    And just like that.

  • John F

Here comes the Pats boulder downhill at the Eagles

  • John F

Pats score 21 more in the second, Eagles O disappears

  • BearDown100393

    Eagles gonna Gronked.

  • John F

    Enjoy the Eagles collapse

    • BearDown100393

      Pats?

  • John F

Aaaaaaaaaand the penalty that kills the drive

  • John F

Three and out, Pats score, game over

    • AlbertInTucson

      Guess not.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Another nice tackle.

  • willbest

Only Hoodie could bench Butler in the SB

    • BearDown100393

      Free Agent

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

he has been reported sick earlier this week.

  • SC Dave

Here come the refs, just watch.

So far 5 penalties on Eagles, 1 on Pats. Expect it to be much worse before it’s over.

    • John F

      Yep

  • BearDown100393

Why are the Pats D wearing sleeves in a dome?

    • KentuckyBearsFan

white sleeves screw with the QB’s vision? alternating with blue sleeves.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Chung gets his bell rung.

    • BearDown100393

      Rang twice

  • AlbertInTucson

    Ertz hurts.

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

      What a poet!

  • John F

Just wait for the critical Eagles turnover

  • FresnoBear88

Tackling has become a lost art in football

  • willbest

    foles mvp

  • John F

    Will be overturned

    • KentuckyBearsFan

      roughing the tackler.

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

    What a throw.

  • John F

    NO CATCH

    • John F

      Lost four points

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

    CATCH

  • KentuckyBearsFan

it would be nice to be watching the replay right now instead of stupid commercials

    1…no 2….no 3.

  • John F

    NOOOOOOOO Catch

    • AlbertInTucson

      Heard you the first time.

      • John F

Refs in bed for the Eagles AS USUAL

        • SC Dave

You really are a jackass, aren’t you?

          • John F

            Maybe

          • John F

I go by John, but my friends call me jackass

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

What do the people that hate you call you?

          • John F

            John

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

    CATCH!

  • SC Dave

    Go refs! Patriots 12th man!!

    No TD!!

    • willbest

      huh

  • AlbertInTucson

    Hahahahahahahahah!!

    THERE’s a call NE doesn’t get!

    • John F

      For once

  • BerwynBomber

Wow. That’s a catch? I’m with Collingsworth. The replay rulings seem all over the map.

    • AlbertInTucson

      It screws NE.

      I’m good with it.

  • willbest

why do they have CTE eli walking around on TV every couple breaks?

  • BearDown100393

    lol whatever

  • AlbertInTucson

I’m sure NE gets a makeup when they get close again.

    • SC Dave

Naturally. I guess that was all about “definitive” on the *possession* part of it. His left foot was not in the second (or was it third?) time it came down.

  • SC Dave

    A surprise.

  • SC Dave

Collinsworth… just leave it at “I give up”. Most fans could relate to that.

  • BearDown100393

Detroit is really going to suck next season.

  • John F

Patricia: YOU ARE LOSING TO NICK FOLES, WHAT THE F IS THE MATTER WITH YOU

  • willbest

    colinsworth calling gronk a pussy

  • AlbertInTucson

    That, folks, is a safety.

  • SC Dave

Colinsworth showing his Patriots fandom rather obviously.

    • Irish Sweetness

He just ripped Gronk for being professionally dishonest in relation to holding calls.

  • SC Dave

    Here they come.

    6 to 1 now

  • John F

    Eagles secondary fails as usual

    • AlbertInTucson

He has all day to pass.

  • BuddhaJoe

Mam not saying that wasn’t a valid penalty on Philly but if they’d call that shit on NE’s o-line this shit would be way more lopsided.

    • SC Dave

      They won’t

      • BuddhaJoe

Of course not. It’s fucking pathetic though. Jwebb could’ve succeeded if he got that kind of leeway.

  • John F

    Haven’t stopped em yet, pathetic

  • John F

Pats aren’t stupid, passing two seconds after the snap, Eagles haven’t adjusted

  • John F

    Another superheroes movie, thank god

  • willbest

So we are at the point where no matter which team wins the QB is mvp

  • SC Dave

One promise is that there will be zero holding penalties on NE.

    • John F

      Zero penalties period

  • SC Dave

Another drive gifted to New England

    • AlbertInTucson

Had to pay for blown replay call.

      • SC Dave

Problem is that it never changes. The only guarantee for this game is that the NE OL will not be called for holding. No matter what.

  • SC Dave

Colinsworth is such a cunt. Sound going off for the rest of the game.

    • Irish Sweetness

      Gimme your car keys Dave!

      • SC Dave

I’m at home, dude. Colinsworth is a cunt, and the sound has been off.

  • John F

That old guy should NOT be running

  • John F

    Close game favors the Pats

  • willbest

Nick Foles stole whatever amulet Case Keenum had been using all season to improve his abilities

    • AlbertInTucson

A coach who knows how to use him helps.

  • AlbertInTucson

“Paging Mr. Jeffrey. Mr. Alshon Jeffrey!”

  • AlbertInTucson

Nelson Agahlor had BUST written all over him for his first two seasons.

  • John F

    Eagles need a TD badly

    • AlbertInTucson

      Ya think?

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

        he is a genius.

      • John F

        JohnF = Mr. Obvious

  • willbest

    good lord eli

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Dancing with the Stars audition tape.

  • AlbertInTucson

Let’s feature Giants because they had SUCH a great year!

    • BearDown100393

      At least it was realistic.

  • John F

Gonna come down to a turnover in the fourth

  • Irish Sweetness

Dude. Scientology are advertising during the SB? But cigarette advertising is banned …

  • AlbertInTucson

That is a “Win” for NE.

  • John F

    Eagles face plant play

  • AlbertInTucson

“SEE, we DO flag the Patriots!”

    • John F

      When it doesn’t matter

      • AlbertInTucson

As my post goes over your head.

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

          Genius???

        • AlbertInTucson

My bad. I forgot to mark it as sarcasm.

      • John F

        Ahhhhhh, sarcasm,

    • SC Dave

Not watching… 5 yarder on an extra point?

      • willbest

FG that the eagles made that wont result in 1st down

        • SC Dave

Lol… even better than I expected

  • John F

    NE offside

  • John F

    Eagles blew it

  • BearDown100393

    Groupon still a thing?

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Ball kicked to the nuts!! Classic!

    • John F

      The kids love it

  • AlbertInTucson

A turnover on this drive would be nice.

  • John F

Pats will now dink and dunk them to death

  • John F

    Or run them to death

  • AlbertInTucson

    Eagle fans should be pissed.

They have a deep rotation and the Eagles havepubted what? Once?

And they can’t make a stop.

    • willbest

nick foles is going to earn his mvp

    • BearDown100393

      And they KILLED the Vikings.

  • John F

    Can’t stop em, Eagles gassed

  • John F

    Criss cross to the flat

  • AlbertInTucson

    Defining WIDE open.

    • BearDown100393

The secondary has been bad all game.

      • John F

        Mr. Obvious

      • AlbertInTucson

        D-Line has to share blame.

        • BearDown100393

0 sacks against an immobile 40 year old

    • willbest

well at least they wont get called for pi

  • John F

    All day

  • BearDown100393

“Way to go, @nbc. Gotta get you some of that @Scientology cult money.”

A message to the stand up veterans group that was denied.

  • SC Dave

So, 100-1 that even a single holding penalty gets called on NE?

    • John F

Don’t need to hold when you pass after two steps

  • John F

    Eagles can’t breathe

  • BearDown100393

Take some notes on that one Baby Gronk.

  • John F

    Gronk WIDE open up top

  • AlbertInTucson

    “They look unstoppable right now”.

    Ya think, Al Michaels?

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

JohnF has been chatting with him on what to say.

      • John F

        BOoooooooo

  • BearDown100393

In Jeff’s world, Carson Wentz is hopping on 1 leg with joy.

  • John F

    Boulder, meet Eagles

  • SC Dave

No replay on Amendola getting the ball ripped out? Note they didn’t even show it.

    • KentuckyBearsFan

I was waiting for that replay.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Kiss my balls.

The Eagles aren’t going to win their first super bowl, are they?

    • BearDown100393

Did you truly believe that would happen?

    • John F

      Um, no

  • John F

Final score, Pats 47, Eagles 32

  • AlbertInTucson

An Eagles win at this point would be stunning.

    • John F

      Not.Gonna.Happen

    • willbest

      pressure is now on foles

  • willbest

    stadium sounds very pro pat

    • AlbertInTucson

I heard LOT of booing on calls against the Iggles.

      • willbest

but its really loud on 3rd down for eagles

    • BearDown100393

In future SBs, the stadiums of both teams will also sell tickets, show the game on the jumbotrons and pump the crowd noise into the host stadium.

  • SC Dave

I want to understand why the network refused to show the replay of Amendola getting the ball ripped out.

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Because it would have gone against NE.

    • John F

Cuz the Eagles have no chance of winning?

    • AlbertInTucson

Whistle was blown before it came out.

  • John F

    Wasted play by the Eagles

  • KentuckyBearsFan

What Philadelphia needs now…is 2 extra points.

    • SC Dave

      Or one, anyway

      • KentuckyBearsFan

        …after a touchdown.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Ertz hurts.

    • BearDown100393

      Future car rental guy.

      • AlbertInTucson

        “Ertz for Hertz,”

  • SC Dave

    So here comes the OPI.

  • John F

    Ertz = Blankie

  • John F

Really? does anyone think the Eagles have a chance since halftime?!?

  • John F

    Aaaaaaaand there’s your ballgame

  • BearDown100393

Okay Pederson, go for it on 4th again.

  • willbest

Go for it. D isn’t doing shit anyway

  • AlbertInTucson

    Have to.

  • John F

    THE BLANKIE

  • Irish Sweetness

So Alshon’s not really a #1 type guy and we were correct not to give that cock-knocker 18 million dollars.

    • John F

      Kinda right dude

    • KentuckyBearsFan

Early touchdown was great. But then the interception that was his accidental fault which New England scored a touchdown on a long drive. And then he never could reel it in on short throws in the end zone one or two times.

A top 5 receiver would have had 3 touchdowns this game.

    • AlbertInTucson

He has gone invisible. We’ve seen THAT.

    • BearDown100393

Has he been on a play since coughing it up?

  • willbest

    that hurts

  • AlbertInTucson

    James Harrison waving it off.

    LOL.

    Another reason to hate NE.

    • willbest

he plays good for a 47 year old though

      • John F

        I thought he was 57?

  • John F

    Oooooooooh wasted TO

  • John F

Waiting for the fumble or INT in 3….2…1

  • John F

Did Jeffrey get cut after the third quarter?

  • AlbertInTucson

Iggles bleed clock and lose on a shanked FGA…?

    • John F

      Yeah, probably

  • CaponeBot 1.0

Foles playing with 12 inch cock.

    • John F

So he wins no matter what

    • AlbertInTucson

All he has to do is turn it over about now to flush his performance right
      down the toidy.

  • John F

Babies listening to tunes, wow WATCH THE GAME DUDE

  • John F

    13 unstoppable

  • John F

    First down may win it?

  • John F

    Not now

  • BearDown100393

Foles not really getting it done (yet?) in red zone.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Alshon sighting.

    Of course, he wasn’t open.

  • John F

    THE BLANKIE

  • KentuckyBearsFan

    Fuck.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Ertz HURTS.

  • John F

    No catch

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

    Catch

  • willbest

    it broke the plane

  • KentuckyBearsFan

    Catch.

  • BearDown100393

    I have no idea

  • AlbertInTucson

    Catch.

  • SC Dave

Why are these idiots going out of bound?!?

  • Irish Sweetness

    They’ll find a way to not-catch this.

  • John F

I think if he crosses, play is over

    • Irish Sweetness

Not on a catch. The imaginary indefinable process must be completed.

  • John F

    Yeah, no catch, cuz NE

    • willbest

      he took 2 steps

      • John F

        NE NE NE

    • willbest

      made a football move

  • AlbertInTucson

He had the ball before he was contacted.

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

2-3 steps and a dive. Catch.

  • SC Dave

    DAMNIT get a first down!

  • AlbertInTucson

    It’s not close.

  • CaponeBot 1.0

the fact that they had to actually talk about the Ertz catch is embarassing. almost ruined my night…..almost.

  • SC Dave

    BONEHEAD play call.

  • John F

After further review, because New England, no catch

  • AlbertInTucson

This should be a no brainer.

  • SC Dave

    Too much time. NE wins.

    • John F

Yeah, probably, they scripted this out in the production meeting

      • Dis Guy Trublinsky (Johnnywad)

This is unfolding just like you called it. Again.

  • John F

Wow, Kraft must not have paid his NFL dues

  • AlbertInTucson

    Toldja

    You to, Michaels.

    That was an EASY call.

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky (Johnnywad)

      Exactly. Drives me nuts.

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

In his defense they have overturned more obvious calls, with that said he is still a douchebag.

      • SC Dave

TO clarify, he’s more a cunt than a douchebag.

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

          I will agree with that.

    • BearDown100393

      Romo would be hyperventilating.

  • John F

Dink and dunk for the win

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

    GAME OVER!!!!!

    • willbest

      You really ARE prescient. (Sarcasm)

  • SC Dave

    • willbest

  • BearDown100393

Tom Brady tried his best selling a forward pass motion.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Pressure, gentlemen. Pressure.

  • Irish Sweetness

    PRESSURE. SEE THAT, VIC?

  • John F

If no first down, Pats win easily

  • KentuckyBearsFan

Garoppolo would have won this game? Belichick was right.

  • SC Dave

    10000000% fumble

  • John F

    Please a first down, please

    • Irish Sweetness

      Let us pray ….

  • SC Dave

Need one first down, Iggles! Just one.

  • John F

Please no overtime, I may pass out

  • KentuckyBearsFan

  • willbest

    Bad call bill

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

      Just part of the plan.

  • John F

    Really Pats, REALLY!

  • BearDown100393

    That was dumb.

  • Irish Sweetness

Not bad for a guy rocking a mustache in 2018.

  • John F

    Hogan you are WEAK

  • SC Dave

    Gotta for for this.

  • John F

    Brady shitting the bed

  • KentuckyBearsFan

    Brady’s arm just gave out.

  • AlbertInTucson

Regarding the “catch/no catch calls, remember, Goodell, in his State Of The League message, basically said “ I’m tired of catches being overturned on flimsy evidence.”

  • willbest

eagles D picked a good time to start playing

  • AlbertInTucson

    No roughing the Brady?

  • John F

Wow, I thought th GOAT would play better

    • Irish Sweetness

Montana? Is he in a pro-Am?

  • willbest

    Foles mvp

  • AlbertInTucson

    Tick, tick, tick…

  • John F

    Wasted play by clocking it

  • SC Dave

Too many missed XP for Eagles. Patriots can easily still win this game.

    • AlbertInTucson

      Moot point,

New England would have just gone for 2 when they needed to.

  • John F

  • AlbertInTucson

  • KentuckyBearsFan

    NICK FOLES SUPER BOWL MVP!

  • John F

I never would have believed it

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky (Johnnywad)

      You don’t say.

  • BearDown100393

So what are the lottery numbers Alshon?

  • John F

55 took away one last play

  • AlbertInTucson

    Best SB, ever?

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

      nope

    • BearDown100393

      No but it was entertaining

      • AlbertInTucson

        Which was Better?

        • Dis Guy Trublinsky (Johnnywad)

          I’d say it’s right there with SB34. Rams/Titans.

          • SC Dave

I think everyone loved that game.

          • Dis Guy Trublinsky (Johnnywad)

I sure did. Right down to the last play. Man to man, ball carrier vs sure tackler for one play, one more yard for all the marbles. If you wrote that shit for a made for TV movie they’d say you went too far. Too dramatic.

    • John F

      Yes, cuz the Pats lost

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Not even the best out of the SB that the Pats have lost.

        • John F

          All pats losses are good

    • Irish Sweetness

That would be 1986, Al. SB XX.

    • SC Dave

      Only if you hate defense.

    • CanadaBear

Not sure but I really enjoyed it. Not much D but the refs let them play.

  • Malice Halice

Told y’all da eagles was gone win

  • Malice Halice

    Wentz hittin the road

  • John F

Brady TOTALLY blew it, should retire

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky (Johnnywad)

      WHAT????

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Listen to him he is a “genius”…..

        • Dis Guy Trublinsky (Johnnywad)

I hope for his family’s sake, he doesn’t gamble on the NFL.

          • John F

No, I am just a pompous blog poster

          • Dis Guy Trublinsky (Johnnywad)

            LOL. Truth.

        • SC Dave

I assume you’re talking about the latest entry in the This User is Blocked club, namely John F?

          • John F

            Boooooooo

          • AlbertInTucson

Gotta admit, he’s number 1 with a bullet.

Today he was like a movie that’s so bad, it’s almost funny.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

            almost is the key word

          • John F

Come on, you had fun didn’t you?, that’s the point!

      • John F

He only had 93 yards to go ….. LOSER

    • Irish Sweetness

He threw for over 500 yards and 3 TDs……..

      • John F

        LOSER

        • Irish Sweetness

Well, that’s true. He is. Technically. Yes.

          • John F

He is going after Elway’s record for losing super bowls

          • KentuckyBearsFan

            not Jim Kelly?

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

            Yes Kelly lost more

      • KentuckyBearsFan

        BUT HE CAN’T CATCH!

        • John F

          Not a complete player

    • AlbertInTucson

He had a better day passing than you did posting.

      • John F

        Ouch

  • ButtonShoes

Well that’s a nice result! And that Alshon Jeffrey….he’s not too bad a wide receiver. Sure would be nice to have someone like that on your football team, amirite?

    • Irish Sweetness

Nope. Looked real average today. Just like always.

      3 catches for 73. Real #1 stuff there …..

      • John F

        Worth $15 million per year

  • Irish Sweetness

    Woodsy’s gutted!

    Fuck you New England.

    Well done Philly. Well deserved.

  • BuddhaJoe

Nick Foles Super Bowl champion. Holy shit.

  • John F

Pats defense completely lost this game, GUYS you played Nick Foles!!!

    • Irish Sweetness

Super Bowl MVP, NIck Foles. Probably.

I bet they still give it to Brady!

      • John F

        No shit

  • ButtonShoes

Nick Foles. Super Bowl MVP probably. And he’s going to get traded. This is hilarious.

    • willbest

      isn’t he an FA?

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

        No

        • willbest

heh so he is under contract next year for like 2 mil? he should hold out

  • BearDown100393

    Kirk Cousins is not happy.

  • SC Dave

Sounds like Colinsworth is about to cry.

    • BearDown100393

      Belichick already cut him.

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky (Johnnywad)

      Brady’s wiener ran dry.

He SO desperately wanted that late Eagles TD overturned.

      • John F

Nick Foles wins the wiener bowl

  • BearDown100393

    Looking forward to Belichick’s presser.

  • CaponeBot 1.0

Sometimes football is still the greatest game on Earth. I am amused that it came down to that fucking catch rule. Thankfully they just called it a football play.

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky (Johnnywad)

That was an excellent game with a great back story to go with it. And how bout the Eagles? And MVP caliber, 2nd year QB on the bench with an ACL tear, and a backup that just tore up the Pats in the Super Bowl for 41 and a mountain of yards. Crazy stuff.

  • CanadaBear

    New thread.

  • KentuckyBearsFan

Lurie…the owner who wouldn’t pay for decent padding at Veteran Stadium.

A field so bad that more than one player lost his kneecaps.

    • CanadaBear

Wendell Davis of the Bears lost 2 kneecaps on one play. There was a seam in the carpet. It was one of the worst things to see live. You knew it serious immediately. I don’t think he ever played again.

      • KentuckyBearsFan

I think that’s the one I remember. I didn’t know the significance of the play but heard or read he lost his kneecaps.

  • Dis Guy Trublinsky (Johnnywad)

I think this may actually cut the head off the snake. The Patriots are going to struggle to rebound from this. Both coordinators are moving on. Father Time gets another crack at Brady and Gronk. There was some stink all over that Garappolo trade.

    Here’s hoping.
