It’s starting to look like an arms race in the NFC North between Green Bay, Chicago, and Minnesota.
And even Detroit has Stafford and went 9-7 last year.

It looks like a tough division for years. Should be fun to watch.

    • Johnnywad

Even without Cam Meredith? And Josh Sitton?

      • KentuckyBearsFan

yeah. I mean the Bears could be ready to compete by 2019, but we’ll see if the pieces are falling into place this season.

No one expected the Rams or really even the Eagles to do what they did last year.

Even with the decline of Seattle and the Cardinals, the NFC West looks like going forward will also be a huge improvement with the Rams and Garoppolo 49-ers.

        It can happen very quickly.

        • Johnnywad

          That was sarcasm.

      • Don’t worry. Still have Grasu and Cooper. And Acho is our starting OLB .
        #SB!

        • Johnnywad

Cooper rocks. I’m getting his jersey.

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Just wow…. I don’t know what to make of the Rev’s contribution.

    • KentuckyBearsFan

It’s obvious to me. Of the books he mentioned, the writer SHOULD have made Colonel Sanders the main character in the Lord of the Moon-f***ers book, not Abraham Lincoln.

  • SC Dave
    • Irish Sweetness

Mr. Sunderbruch(?) sounds like a complete dick there, Dave.

      • SC Dave

I actually don’t care what Singletary thinks about it.

      • Johnnywad

        Erra body like Roquan.

    • evantonio

A little water is good, yes, but to say the Bears were all set at ILB is to admit you didn’t watch a snap last season.

      • SC Dave

I didn’t say the guy was right.

      • Author’s comment when asked if this article was serious or not:

“Purely humor. Every so often, I try to keep in mind that this is still a game…”

    • leftcoastdave

He Bidenized (plagiarized) the entire article from blogs posted here in the last week.

  • Irish Sweetness

Did we sign any undrafted HOFers yet?

  • willbest
    • Lemme tell you, there’s some crazy shit put there.
Word to the wise, don’t go out with a girl who has an account on Fetlife

  • Sactowns#1

Sac is a heck of a football town. The next two years should see even more local products taken. http://www.sacbee.com/sports/high-school/joe-davidson/article210236074.html

  • Man it’s weird to hear so many national people praising the Bears’ draft, and offseason as a whole. Almost makes me worry, I’d rather they fly under the radar and then surprise everybody. Hope this young team doesn’t buy the hype before accomplishing anything.

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

They like the draft, however, I don’t think many of them actually expect the Bears to win anything.

      • Johnnywad

        Fuck em.

    • CanadaBear

It seems like biz as usual with the media. I read the draft analysis and it’s universally positive and then you look at their rankings and the Bears are still in the mid 20’s at best.

      • Johnnywad

It’s weird, but the distance from the mid 20’s to the low teens when it comes to this stuff, seems really, really small to me. A couple good breaks, and you’re sniffing at a Wild Card. A couple bad breaks, and you’re drafting 8 again.

    • Johnnywad

There isn’t one thing since the Trubisky selection that surprises me. None of it.

This offseason looked exactly like it should after three seasons of very difficult roster churn. He spent three seasons changing culture, cleaning up the cap, getting younger, and trying to find contributors on short term, team friendly deals. He did that. He built a foundation. Then, he’s spent his time since January putting meat on the bones.

      • You’ve basically just summarized my next 5 articles that I’ve spent the last 3 days researching and writing in one paragraph.

        • Johnnywad

Clean it up. Fix all my shitty grammar and dumbfuckery, and you’ve got yourself a story.

        • Irish Sweetness

Thanks for saving us the trouble, Johnny!

      • Irish Sweetness

… but there’s no depth anywhere. And that’s what a SB squad has.

        • Johnnywad

Anybody that thinks this team, three seasons removed from Mark Trestman and Phil Emery, should compete for a Super Bowl in 2018 is a damn fool.

The fact that they are where they are, is a miracle.

        • Big Mike

The depth is getting better. Watch how many starters from last year are sitting.

  • Also, I think the day 3 guys are getting too much hype from fans. In reality, they’re doing really well if one of these guys becomes a solid starter (or even rotational player). The hit rate that far down the draft is really low.

I think Nichols has the best chance of any of those guys to become something. Getting Nichols to be a starting DE and Iyiegbuniwe to be a core ST guy would be a great day 3.

    • That Guy

The Day 3 guys get hype for 2 reasons:
      1) Pace has established a little trend of hitting on the mid/late round picks, so people expect the magic to continue. Plus, we remember 4th round finds like Vasher and Brown who were solid contributors.
      2) We expect 1st Round picks to bust at an unprecedented rate (seriously, other than Urlacher and Long, what Angelo-era 1st rounders even panned out? Harris maybe, though his career was short. You have to go back to the early 90s to get consistent success with the 1st rounders). So it feels like Rounds 4-6 have contributed more good players to the roster than Round 1.

    • John F

The reason that the Day 3 guys are getting hype is that the Bears need these guys to be major contributors if they want to win more than 4 games next year.

      It’s called HOPIUM……..

      • they won 5 games last year and are undoubtedly better than that team right now.

        • leftcoastdave

Didn’t they have the toughest schedule to start the season of anyone in the league? And then put in a rookie QB if I recall? And yea, clearly better receivers now, as good at D, a new offense which will not be three runs and a cloud of dust followed by a punt and Da Bears NEED contribution from their day three picks to win more than 4 games next year?

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

I am convinced there are fans out there that wake up every morning and piss in their own Cheerios. No point in arguing or questioning them.

          • SC Dave

            Stop it you two.

I would think if anyone, (M)HBP, *you* would recognize a troll when you see it.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Sorry Dave, I just can’t help it sometimes.

          • Johnnywad

At times, there’s just too much low hanging fruit.

        • John F

are undoubtedly better than that team right now

          I think that is arguable:

          – their number one receiver hasn’t been cleared to play and is coming off major knee surgery and best season was three years ago
          – their number two receiver has a grand total of 8 TD’s in four years
          – their new move TE only had 23 catches last year
          – their backup QB has thrown a grand total of 78 passes in the last eight years
          – their starting RG is coming off three major surgeries in one year and is not cleared to play yet
          – their starting LG is coming off major knee surgery (Kush)
          – one starting ILB can’t stay healty
          – their best OLB can’t stay healthy
          – their best DT can’t stay healthy
          – their head coach has been an offensive coordinator in the NFL for one year and has never been a head coach at any level prior to this year
          – their offensive coordinator has never coached in the NFL before now

          • Johnnywad

Yeah. Plus all those other 31 teams are settled at all 22 spots and the coaches are seasoned and everything. Bears are the only ones sorting things out. Probably won’t win a game.

          • SC Dave

Wow… you guys *still* have not blocked that clown?

          • Johnnywad

I’m willing to scrap on occasion. John F isn’t an asshole. He’s just misguided. And he has a touch of the comic’s edge to him.

          • John F

            Hey, I resemble that remark!

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Almost all you points could also be used last year and we won 5. Plus you could add the following
            – Mike Glennon was their QB and Butt fumble was the backup
            – Barth was the K
            – their HC was Fox
            – their OC worked for Fox.
            – Fox was the HC

          • John F

We’ll all know after about 5-6 games who is right…

          • In what universe is Eric Kush their current starting RG?

Most of the team is intact from last year, save upgrades at QB (2nd year vs. rookie), WR (worst in NFL to a good unit), and ILB.

          • John F

Kush is the LG (until someone takes the job from him), Long is the RG with three surgeries

          • Big Mike

Holy cow, you’ve been listening to SCORE callers too much. Bears will have growing pains, but this team would blow out last years team. I could call a defense that would shut the Bears down and have trubisky looking out his ear hole all day long based on what Fox and Logjam cooked up. On offense, you could just wear the D out by running them all over the field all day long chasing burton, robinson, cohen, shaheen, gabriel and howard. No depth at all last year.

          • John F

In theory, yes. I would like to actually see it in a regular season game.

Year after year for the last quarter decade we have heard about the next great thing that is going to “turn the Bears around”……….. I have yet to see it ……….

          • Big Mike

At some point you need to block out what you hear and look with your own eyes. I hated Trestman from the start. The minute he announced there would be rotating game captains, I knew that pointy headed nerd was not a leader of alpha males. I was on board with Fox, but more so with Pace. Fox did his job. He wiped the stench of Trestman off of the Franchise. He was a caretaker for 3 years. He had a very slim probability of being “The guy”. He squandered that by inept coaching and prep last year. Bringing in Nagy and the staff that he’s assembled including Fangio is brilliant. The off season moves have been on point.

Of course all of this is on paper. Bears look good for 7-9 wins next year in my eyes.

          • George Hotchkiss

John, (Love the Joliet Jake pic) I am a bears fan from way back , saw Sayers play at Wrigley, that’s right I’m officially an old fart. Anyway, your “Arguable” points are well taken. Every year I go to the blogs after the draft and see the same pie in the sky comments. Nobody wants to see the Bears be competitive more than me, However, I am not sold on Pace, his evaluative skills are at best average. The main reason we have picked up some good players over the past 3 years has been due to our high draft position( earned from sucking). This year should tell us if we are on the right track. I don’t know if Nagy can coach, but our offense couldn’t be worse. I am banking on 6 wins, and hoping for 7. Love any feedback…

    • Trying to make up for last year’s skepticism.

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

You can’t give too much hype to future HOFers!

    • Big Mike

@Irish_Sweetness:disqus loves the underdogs. Iggy has the most upside. Nichols will be a rotational guy this year. If the 7th round WR sticks around.. wow! I don’t even remember the 6th round guy

  • AlbertInTucson

    Francesa’s return!

    https://nypost.com/2018/05/01/mike-francesa-offers-little-drones-on-a-lot-in-first-show-back/

” there continued to be a laziness to Francesa’s show. When he had Eli Manning on, he failed to ask even one question specifically about Saquon Barkley. Also, wouldn’t it have been nice to know what Manning thought leading up to the draft and on the big night? It wasn’t asked..”

    People MISSED this guy?

    • ButtonShoes

Must be another one of those loopy NY things we don’t get.

  • EnderWiggin
    • It’s ok. Trump reimbursed the Falcons for it.

      • Juan Stone

But I thought Trump was an Eagle Fan? Wink.. wink.

      • SC Dave

        Wow… that’s as idiotic a comment as I’ve seen in a while.

        Congratulations.

        • Big Mike

There is a reason 1/3 of DBB regulars have him blocked.

      • Ha! 130,000 blog points

    • AlbertInTucson

      $100M, guaranteed.

      Aaron Rodgers is smiling.

      Packer management, not so much.

  • AlbertInTucson

    ‘DaBearsBlog
    @dabearsblog
I’m going to bet Bears +8 at Green Bay to open the season right now. I think the Bears are going to win that game.”

Betting on games before you even see who is still standing after training camp.

    Yeah, that’s GREAT idea.

    (Sarcasm).

    • ButtonShoes

It’s Jeff. This could be the team from 4 years ago and he’d bet Bears +8 at Green Bay. He’s an unabashed homer.

  • AlbertInTucson

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis
  • EnderWiggin
  • BerwynBomber

Lynch made Jerrick McKinnon the 4th highest paid RB in the league?

    That’s nuts. He’s a rotational guy.

    • SC Dave

Perhaps there are guys that still value the running game.

    • Johnnywad

After he paid Jimmy G on a handful of starts.

Might all work out. Or, it might all go down in flames. One way or the other, he’s not afraid to write checks.

      • evantonio

Matt Ryan is happy that Jimmy G got paid. That’s for sure.

      • Big Mike

Problem will be building the rest of the roster. Bears have a 4 year window to win with Trubisky on a rookie contract. After that we’re either looking for a new QB or paying $$$$$$ to the QB spot that has to come from somewhere.

        • Johnnywad

Agreed. And if your QB isn’t good enough to win with replacement level players at a lot of key spots, you’re stuck in an altogether different type of QB purgatory. Good enough to gobble up salary cap and keep the job, but not good enough to balance the money and W/L record.

          • Big Mike

See GB, Atlanta, Seattle (now), Giants, Who else. NE wins because of Brady, but also because he’s paid about 1/2 his marketing value ($14 million) He and his wife are worth about $500 million. But at some point he wants his $ to reflect his value.

  • BerwynBomber

“DaBearsBlog @dabearsblog I’m fascinated by the Vikings. They got superb offensive coordination and QB play last season. While I love Flip as a coach, nobody quite knows what he is as a play-caller. And I don’t think Cousins is an upgrade.”

Let’s not be silly. Keenum did a phenom job. Even before most knew what was happening up there, I thought he was the best back-up in the league (and yes I’d still take him over Foles in that role).

But he is simply not as good as Cousins.

Is Cousins overpaid? Yes? Do I think he is a much bigger douche than the media portrays? A huge Yes. But he is a B-level franchise guy, and Keenum doesn’t have near the body of work to determine he is on par with Cousins. Plus, Cousins is simply more skilled. He can do more.

Will he have a better year than Keenum’s semi-freakish one last year? That’s debatable. But in the long run he is certainly an upgrade.

    • Big Mike

No QBs are overpaid. Price just keeps going up. Next guy to sign gets a bigger deal. Trubisky might have a $150 million contract. Matty Ice just resigned for $125 million.

      • Johnnywad

Mike Glennon was/is overpaid. That dude shouldn’t get money for what he does.

        • Big Mike

That’s a hard point to argue. A personal note, I coached Mike Glennon when he was in 6th grade. I’ve chatted with him a few times since. He’s made over $50 million in the NFL. He’s as good a man as you will find. He works hard, he knows his limits. He does his best. His insight to the Bears last year was “great group of guys, wish I could have done more, we really didn’t give ourselves a chance offensively”.

          • evantonio

Yeah. We didn’t give ourselves a chance.

          • Big Mike

That was as close as Glennon will come to taking a shot at the offensive game plans

  • BerwynBomber

    New rook #s:
    Roquan Smith — 58
    James Daniels — 68
    Anthony Miller — 17
    Joel Iyiegbuniwe — 45
    Bilal Nichols — 98
    Kylie Fitts — 49
    Javon Wims — 83

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

I can’t believe they gave Wims #83. They should have retired that number. BRAVERMAN!!!!!

      • AlbertInTucson

        They gave it to him

        (WAIT for it….)

        ON A WHIM!

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

          No. Just Stop.

  • Big Mike

I’m on a break looking at game film and highlights or Roquan Smith and Daniels. These boys can play.

    • Irish Sweetness

Don’t forget Miller’s tape. If he survives, he could be good.

      • Big Mike

I don’t know what to do looking at WRs. The highlights all look the same.

  • KentuckyBearsFan

“I’m all for Matt Nagy changing things up at Halas Hall with motivational sayings on the wall. But this one is (a) terrifying and (b) nonsensical.”

    I agree.

John Gruden will still steal it, but change it to The Most Powerful Weapon On Earth is the B-21 Raider.
    http://www.businessinsider.com/air-force-picks-3-bases-for-new-b-21-raider-bomber-2018-5

Which will be even more nonsensical and terrifying (at a half billion dollars each).

    • Johnnywad

I don’t know. PJ Fleck took the Western Michigan University Broncos to the Cotton Bowl on “Row the Boat”. Horses can’t even row with hooves. Didn’t matter. It was on every billboard, t-shirt, hoodie and bumper sticker in the area. The locals ate it up.

Personally, motivational slogans, et al, are complete bullshit. But it works for some.

      • KentuckyBearsFan

        “Git-R-Done!”

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Lovie preached “Defend the Bay” when he was in Tampa…. They had billboards and everything.

        • Johnnywad

          Super Gay.

  • Johnnywad

Well lads, gonna be a long dry spell now. We aren’t gonna know shit until the second preseason game unless there’s an injury to a specific player.

I suppose Mayer and Gabriel will be writing their puff pieces. Love affairs between Mitch and Robinson, Roquan’s killer instincts, Daniels’ mean streak, and so forth.

Outside of that, conjecture and Kool Aid.

But the rubber hits the road in August. This team should be fun this fall.

    • Off the top of my head, things I’m curious.

      – How the offense will look.

Will it resemble the Eagles relentless fast pace attack? Will it be more like the Rams and funneled through the RB? Or will it resemble the Chiefs – more traditional WCO with lots of short stuff?

Of course, worst case scenario, Trestman 2.0

(we’re not going to get any clue of this till Sept though)

      – Would love to see how the new draftees perform

Obviously, all eyes are on Smith, but how Chase Daniels holds up (and what position) will also be of keen interest.

Given the price for Miller, he has to look good too. Some comp him to Steve Smith, but man, that’s a big jock strap to fill.

I’ll be happy if he becomes a Ju-Ju. By all accounts, he seems like him. A high energy tough physical playmaker. Be a major jump start to the lethargic O.

      – of the sophmores, If Sasheen is anything more than Matt Spaeth.
If Cohen looks as explosive, and if he’ll rotate more.

      – it’s time for Floyd and Bullard to step up. Will they?

      – How will Fuller play now that he’s paid? Will we see Amos’ from last season, or the two seasons before? Can Kush step up when Long is out?

      • I have stuff on Miller coming out. Offense as a whole too.

        • Cool. I remember you did a break down about the WR mold pre-draft.
Be interested to see a follow up on that.

          And the O too.

Personally, I love reading about the nuisances of diff systems, and it could clue us in about what more or less to expect.

What I’m really curious about is if Nagy will be an ultra aggressive (go for it on 4rth. Bombs on 3rd and short. Two point conversions…) HC like Petey, Tomlin, Arians etc

Or if he will follow the more conservative path a la Reid.

          • Yeah, that’s a lot more Xs and Os stuff that I don’t feel nearly as qualified to write. I’d actually recommend checking out Windy City Gridiron for that; they do some great Xs and Os work there. I know a few of those guys, will see if any of them want to write this type of thing.

          • As for WRs, Miller hit all three thresholds. When I wrote my post-Combine article, he hadn’t worked out (that’s from his Pro Day, had an injury at Combine), but I was interested to see his pro day because I thought he was a great fit for this O based on tape.

My top 3 WRs for the Bears, in order, were DJ Moore, Christian Kirk, and then Anthony Miller. So I loved this pick.

    • I’ve spent this week writing articles that will be coming out every Tuesday through the end of June. There’s some good stuff in there.

This is my time of year. Offseason stats-based deep dives.

Anybody have any questions they want answered? I’m out of ideas for now.

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

You kind of sound like my weed dealer. “I got stuff coming every Tuesday. Really good stuff. High quality stuff.”

        • CanadaBear

You would REALLY like going to dispensaries. Edibles are the bomb!

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

I have been to a couple out in Portland OR and in Colorado. Loved it. Walk in and sit in a waiting room with weed magazines. It was like a dentist office. Get called and head back to what looks like a fricken jewelry store. If I would have been pulled over on my road trip back to IL, I would probably be in prison for a while with all the goodies and quantity I brought back.

          • CanadaBear

Up here it’s not so formal. Just walk in and get after it. The one I go to has a dab bar, restaurant, a music jam on Monday’s and lots of good stuff. Since the laws really haven’t changed yet all of this is still illegal but the RCMP have given up. The owner of the dispensary doesn’t allow alcohol sales because he doesn’t want to poke the bear.

          • Irish Sweetness

            How much are they C-Bear?

          • CanadaBear

Depends on what you buy. You can get the dosage as low as 5 mg for a gummy/cookie up to a 400 mg brownie. I buy the brownies and cut them up into 16 pieces for a 25 mg dose. The brownie costs a little under $25 CDN. That works out to about $1.50/dose. 25 mgs will give you a nice buzz for about 6 hours. They also have liquids (with eye droppers), capsules, etc. I’m waiting for the law to change here and then I’m going to start growing.

      • evantonio

I’d like a deep dive into Howard’s hands. Is he as awful as some here make him out to be?

I seem to remember Forte having some drospies early on. How does he compare?

        • I remember reading (I think) a PFF stat that cited Howard with 14 drops, which is the most by any qualifying starter in his span.

But maybe Data can present us with that

(“drops” can also be somewhat subjective)

        • that’s a good question I’ll look into. Stats won’t tell that whole story, but could be a useful start.

      • EnderWiggin

I haven’t seen any numbers, but I was wondering if the talk of Cohen only being an ‘outside the tackles’ guy is accurate.
It seemed like a few times last year, when Cohen was spelling Howard, that the Bears didn’t change up the run plays all that much.
That would be my question: How was Cohen’s production up the middle? It seemed to me that the Bears used him just like Howard. Only when Howard was off the field though, I know Cohen lined up everywhere when Howard was in.

        • Be interested to see how Cohen did up the middle too.
The thing with him is that even if the call was up the middle, he would always try to bounce it outside for a big gain.

That worked for a couple weeks, but teams caught on, and made sure to contain him inside.

I hope that’s not a fatal flaw of Cohen. Some HBs always try for that big outside bounce trying to be Barry Sanders, when sometimes all they need is a 4 yd run.

          • CanadaBear

He loves inside running from what he tells the media. Did a ton of it in college.

          • Irish Sweetness

We shouldn’t be sending Cohen up the middle. Like, ever.

        • I don’t know that this merits a full article, but I quick did the research on Pro Football Reference’s Game Play Finder and have the stats. Hmm… maybe I could do like a stats mailbag with quick things like this, Howard catch performance, etc. Keep the questions coming if you have them, this is super helpful for me.

Either way, I’ll tell you now for this specific one.

69% of Cohen’s carries were outside (obligatory nice). He averaged 4.3 ypc outside the tackles and 2.9 ypc inside.

For contrast, 57% of Howard’s carries were outside. He averaged 3.7 ypc outside and 4.5 ypc inside. I’m surprised by the low outside numbers, he averaged over 5.8 ypc outside as a rookie (compared to a similar 4.4 ypc inside). There’s the biggest difference from 2016 to 2017 for Howard. IMO it’s due more to blocking and predictability, especially to the right side. I wrote about that a bit back in January, but they went from solid running outside R to awful at it. https://dabearsblog.com/2018/data-entry-self-scouting-chicagos-2017-offense

          • SC Dave

Alshon was no longer blocking on the outside.

I hope Miller brings it in the blocking game. We need a badass blocker at WR to show the other guys how it’s done.

          • I think it’s more that they usually went heavy with multiple TEs to the right, and defenses knew what was coming then. But I won’t be able to get stats to either confirm or refute that.

      • I don’t know if this is necessarily stat based, but would like to know the difference between Nagy/Andy O and Trestman’s WCO. Guess it’s more Xs and Os, than stats, but still.

        …………………..

Also, maybe how Fangio’s D performed in the 2nd half of the season vs the 1st half.

Wanna see if it was trending in the right direction.

#s say Bears had a top 10 D and did reasonably ok with sacks, but I seem to remember a lot of long drives where the QB had years to throw, esp in the 2nd half of the season.

Maybe focus on how well they did on 3rd down. Seemed like the opponents always converted those, even if they were long.

        ……….

Nother possible idea was run game consistency. Don’t even know if that’s a stat or not, but I mentioned before how the run game was quite up and down, wondering how that stacks to other teams.

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

I am for a break down of run game consistency. People look at stats at the end of game and say we have a great run game, however I am skeptical. Last year seemed to be a lot of runs for little to no yards, but then Howard would break one for a big gain, so by the end his YPC was up. Not knocking Howard, I know he was running into 8-9 man boxes and you have to wear teams down, but I would rather see more consistency.

          • Yeah, the reason I bring it up is because I had Howard in FF and I noticed the wild swings. Like you pointed out, he was handicapped by Fox and that shoulder INJ esp pre-bye. And in the first 4 weeks, heavy dosage of Cohen. But, still seems inconsistent when compared to say, the Rams.

I know a RB is never going to get 4-5 yards every play, but I would rather they come close to that instead of having 11 carries for 10 yards and 1 carry for 50 for a 5 YPC average.

          • That CLE game sums it up.
Close game. 22 carries. 44 yds. 1.8yds/carry. But , two TDs.

          • EnderWiggin

Yeah, crazy how inconsistent that seems.

          • And when put into context, even more bizarre.

For instance, I sat Howard against BAL. BAL was on a roll, and I think at the time had like the #1 run D (or top 5 for sure).

Then he just rips them up.

Would think NO would get up fast and make Howard irrelevant. Not the case.

OTOH Figured for sure he would tear up the lowly 9ers and Browns who were horrible vs run. Nope (in spite of close games)

          • CanadaBear

The Fudge and the queens put 8-9 in the box all game, esp the second time around.

This season. Tampa bay’s rook. Whatever his name is. Howard is fantasy swampland.

          • Irish Sweetness

Honestly? You’re looking forward to a statistical breakdown of running consistency from last season? Are you guys really into reading about breakdowns of what is now history.

And you want to see MORE form Howard when he runs into 8/9 man walls?

            What’s his super-power again?

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

It would settle a couple arguments I had on here from last year. Where several were claiming we had a good running game because the end of game stats showed Howard had a good game, and discounted it was not a consistent game.

          • CanadaBear

With the new O, I really doubt Howard sees 9-men in the box other than a 4th and short or goal line situations.

I was in Glacier National Park a couple years back, driving through a winding mountain road and came around a curve and met a bear on the road. I immediately started backing up, about 4 park ranger vehicles came flying up, evidently someone reported the bear to them earlier. They corralled the Bear and got it off the road. One of the park rangers came up to me and she thanked me. This puzzled me, so I asked why are you thanking me. She said, ‘Thank you for not doing something stupid like getting out of your Jeep and trying to get a picture. You would be surprised how many stupid idiots there are, thank you for not being one of them’

Yesterday, I’m waiting to make a left from a dual left turn lane bay and a guy, who started crossing EIGHT lanes of traffic on a “Don’t Walk” signal in the FIRST place, is right in front of me when the light turns greuen for my direction. Instead of pausing on the safety island, this guy just keeps going across the final 3 lanes of traffic. How he didn’t get run over is a miracle but sooner, rather than later, this guy is gonna get splattered.I won’t shed a tear for HIM when it happens, but I WILL feel bad for whomever winds up running his sorry ass over.

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

yep, but it wasn’t a black bear I encountered, it was a grizzly. That was an interesting trip. A ranger got killed while he was off duty and biking on some trails a a week or so before I was there. I was actually camping in one of their ‘primitive’ campgrounds. A ranger would stop in once a day, usually right before dark just to verify anyone staying there had protection and was following all the rules when it came to food storage. The ranger encouraged one family to leave because they did not have bear spray.

Probably also did themselves a favor too. If Chinese nationals know they are going to face Chinese justice if they kill people in America, they are going to be more inclined to stay in the US and not be a bother in China.

When the stakes are high, the Chinese are good with delivering out quick deliberate punishment. You pay for the bullet that executes you.

Having said that, China is treacherous for visiting Westerners if you do one thing wrong. A middle-aged friend of mine that was teaching English there died in jail a few years ago. But he was clearly a white foreigner.

Went to his memorial service here in Florida.

He came from a wealthy lawyer family, got a law degree, but became a social worker in America. Had a falling out with the family, and tried to escape his debts leaving the country.

I tried to tell him China was a mistake for him before he left. Should have chosen a different Asian country where foreigners have some rights.
