honestly, at this point, i am questioning the strength and conditioning program. this many injuries is not standard.
Goldman got bent over a goal line pile and fucked his ankle = not strength/conditioning related
Trevathan’s thumb broke in half = not strength/conditioning related
Fuller partially tore a knee ligament = not strength/conditioning related
White sprained an ankle so badly his leg broke = not strength/conditioning related
Cutler sprained his thumb = not strength/conditioning related
Houston tore his ACL = not strength/conditioning related
Wilson has a broken foot = not strength/conditioning related
but…..I see what you mean. Thank you for sharing.
what about any of these is not related to strength? ligament and structural strength is related to strength training.
Ok, you just went full retard on me E-Dog. You have solved the age old mystery of how not to get injured. I will let some other guy feast on this gem.
I have to agree. Sweetness had his own program for strengthening on the lateral stuff in his joints. Paying special attention to everything used in Proprioception etc. The trainer may not understand all that stuff. Then again, Sweetness didn’t listen to his trainer – he did his own thing.
Why do we let our kids play this sport? Yonny, you have just saved millions of chillins lives all over the country. God bless you sir and thank you for your public service. lol
I have no idea, I am literally ignorant on this and I wonder if anyone on the blog has a somewhat informed opinion.
It seems we have an unusual number of injuries, but maybe because this is the only team we follow close enough to count them up. With 32 teams in the league, it’s possible that our number is the median (half teams have more, half teams have less),
Still, as PaceBot demonstrated in trying to show it’s not related to conditioning – it’s a hell of a lot of injuries.
I remember seeing Julius Peppers leg get twisted in a gruesome fashion and thought “that’s career ending”. He came back in the game.
I have to think conditioning/strength plays a part in that. It can’t just be good or bad luck.
it’s a hell of a lot…..and yet not related to strength and conditioning. Tell AP to train harder, tell Anquan Boldin he should have lifted more weights so his face didn’t get smashed in. Inform Brian Urlacher that he didn’t rip up his knee because of Major Wright landing on him like a fuckhead but because he wasn’t fucking strong enough or in good enough condition.
Guys that get concussions are “soft”. Tearing your Achilles is because you didn’t have the proper stretching protocol. Breaking your thumb is because you didn’t use your grandpa’s hand exerciser enough.
Actually, I do wonder about the Achilles and non-contact foot injuries in regard to strength and conditioning. Some of the minimalist running views suggest that today’s athletic footwear — especially true in sports like basketball and tennis — are actually worse for the feet because the extra support and padding end up weakening our feet. How much of that would carry over to football (and cleats) — even if you prescribe to the theory — who knows.
Then again I would have no idea how much foot strengthening or stretching protocol (as you say) a professional athlete does. One would assume a lot.
Cutler should’ve wacked off more.
Time-proven method to strengthen core thumb
‘lifting weights’ is only one aspect of training. These boys should all be doing yoga for starters,
There are definitely techniques and exercises that involve the strengthening of connective tissue and of bones; a one minute search resulted in the list cited at the end of this reply.
Given they are a professional training staff, one would assume that the Bears S&C coaches are aware of this stuff. While some of the injuries the Bears have suffered can be attributed to bad luck, it is reasonable to question the skills of the staff at Halas Hall in this regard given the overabundance of injuries since the regime change.
Another aspect, of course, is diet. Not sure, but it is reasonable to assume the nutritionists were also replaced when Pace moved in.
we are talking about professional athletes here that have been training their entire lives. Suffering blows and making movements that would simply shatter our normal pussy bodies. Everyone and I mean everyone in the NFL, even the dudes that get cut and never make it past training camp are sick motherfucking athletes.
I am thinking of changing my handle to “Normal Pussy Body”
How about normal pussy body white devils
Stop listening to Freddy….
That does not mean that their training methods are beyond reproach, or that some don’t train better than others, Johnny.
Were that the case, there would be no strength and conditioning coaches.
I’m sorry, you can’t train your way out of a broken bone, a concussion, a high ankle sprain, a catastrophic hit to the knee or even non contact.
There are some guys that exist that have bones so thick, tendons so strong, genes so perfect that they are the only ones that can consistently play pro football…..and uh, they actually end up playing pro football……just like their dad’s, uncles, grandpa’s, brothers, etc.
Nah, I’d rather be lucky than good.
That little dodge don’t fly, Johnny. You *can* train to make yourself less vulnerable to such injuries, concussions excepted of course.
I would simply love for you to look Navorro Bowman in the face and tell him that he would have reduced his chances of ripping his Achilles in half last week if he had just trained correctly.
And stop calling ACL tears, Achilles and other tendons soft tissue injuries that can be overcome by diet and training protocols. That’s not what they’re talking about ya bunch of white devils.
I’m a white devil!!!!
You too are a lawyer?
You know in the first appearance of the “devil” in the Bible he was merely an “advocate” – kinda like Will – someone God can argue and make bets with.
Also, in the first appearance of the Joker, he dies! He ends up shanking himself.
But later was brought back by the editor, much like the Christians brought back the devil and for the same reason: boost to readership.
My brother is a recovering attorney. Fuck that shit
And there it is.
Brian Hoyer is not injured because he is a beast.
haha get over yourself dude. you suggest that “nothing is known” about the Bears’ training procedures, yet you are adamant that injuries just happen because they happen and that it has nothing to do with strength training regimens. the Bears are a clear outlier in terms of the magnitude and volume of the injuries that they’ve sustained. there must be an explanation. i was thinking this exact thought sitting in Soldier Field for MNF against the Eagles. how do we have 6-7 guys going down in one game. injuries that occur this early in the season and this often suggest an issue with preparation and training. concussions are concussions and have little to do with strength and conditioning, but soft tissue injuries have been proven to occur at a lower rate with proper conditioning and strengthening. and mind you, when i say conditioning, i am not talking about cardio. i am talking about muscular conditioning.
Johnny is reduced to name calling, and twisting statements into something that supports his prejudice.
But are the Bears truly and “outlier” when it comes to injuries?
The colts are playing 3 rooks I’m pretty sure cuz 3 of their Olinemen went down.
That’s not even counting the other injuries, and other teams might be more injured.
I’m curious to see if the Bears really are an outlier.
we would have to chart the entire league in order to actually determine statistically if they are an outlier; however, it seems to me that there is a recurring theme at play, especially when it comes to players who have been injured previously, played/practiced again, and are now injured again (see: Kevin White, Lamarr Houston, Alshon Jeffrey, Pernell McPhee, Kyle Fuller, etc.). i could be wrong. i just wanted to create the discussion (which seemed to work).
I should clarify that I am aware the Alshon is not hurt right now. But, in terms of recurring injuries, he is a great example.
The podcast I listen to has a doctor who evaluates nearly every major injury to star players.
He says that ‘soft tissue’ injuries can be reduced through proper training and nutrition.
Arian Foster is perhaps the poster child of this (and Alshon is picking up his torch).
But he says that bone injuries for the most part are flukes.
For instance, I think Ryan Matthews broke one clavicle one year, then the other the next year.
I don’t think there’s any program where he could’ve reduced the chance of breaking his clavicle in the future. Maybe a person can strengthen bone, a bit, but it’s negligible.
It’s not like infusing a skeleton with adamantium.
I agree with this 100%. I do question, however, the rehab programs. On the face of it, it seems we have a terrible track record with bringing back players who have been injured.
curious: what podcast?
The Football Guys. Dr. Gene Bramel
Edit. He also talks to a lot of the medical trainers and such around the NFL, and attends those NFL medical conferences, so he’s pretty in the loop.
You are impervious to readon.
will admit I really did not read anything but your last sentence.
I like in Kansas City, and one of the remarkable things about Tony Gonzalez was that he trained himself and used radical nutrition/supplements. He wasn’t injured often save for a short stretch of his career, and he when he was, he rebounded very quickly.
You just described Braverman to a T
I was wondering if we can indeed strengthen bone (without milk).
Also, if bone is stronger, does that mean more calcium/weight, and therefore, less speed?
Are the Bears STILL cheap when they’re not FORCED to spend $$$? (Cheap on medical staff?)
Evan, here is an article you might find interesting. I started on it; will finish later. Title:
“TRAINING AND NUTRITION TO PREVENT SOFT TISSUE INJURIES AND ACCELERATE RETURN TO PLAY”
Makes sense… it’s as though some people have never heard of kinesiology.
Fuck, all he needed was some of that awesome looking kes tape and none of this would ever have happened!!!!!
A broken bone has nothing to do with strength and conditioning. NOTHING.
Think when Urlacher broke his wrist it was because he wasn’t strong enough?
in general, you’re wrong. bone density increases with load bearing exercises.
in the context of NFL football, these players’ bones are strong, undoubtedly. urlacher’s injury was a fluke.
i am not suggesting that all broken bones are related to strength and conditioning. now, for players who have recently been injured and keep getting injured, strength and conditioning does play a role, bone or soft tissue. was kevin white’s rehabilitation program inadequate to the point that he had some weaknesses after low usage and muscle/bone atrophy? are alshon’s recurring hamstring issues a result of an inadequate approach toward his rehab? maybe. we’ll never know. but it’s worth asking the question.
An entirely reasonable suggestion.
I am questioning everything, strength and conditioning, equipment, field conditions, the asian ‘masseuse’ they bring in to give rub downs, ball boys, dietitians, Chicago Water department(too much lead and crap in tap water).
Somehow, all these injuries are Rahm’s fault.

Meredith is now the man, eh?
Finally a guy with skills
Irish is going to be so fucking thrilled.
Hey sometimes Irish is thrilled for the right reason, like Howard.
Yeah, he got me half on the bandwagon during preseason week 4. That and Langford all along.
I still hope to be wrong about Jeremy, but…
What if we could somehow get Larsen back in there, snapping the football to former DL Terry Williams converted to QB, throwing touchdown bombs to Cameron Meredith?
Awesome picture. Well done.
It is almost kinda cruel.
P.S. Injuries blow.
It would be funny were it not so sad.
Stress fractures get in the way of being able to run fast. Speed was Kevin White’s ticket to the NFL. It was the reason the Bears punched his ticket. Notice I said “was”. He done.
That article is a bit out of date.
My point is that after last years injury, he was never going to be a star in the NFL. I had a gut feeling when he got injured last year that his career was effectively going to be over.
He was on his way to a 70+ catch rookie season. So you’re wrong.
His ticket to Canton was punched.
Agreed Jeff. He was playing with way more confidence. I saw him even talking a little shit.
Was encouraging to see him take on tacklers. Three of them.
But now its “wait til next year” all over again.
Star vs confidence. Huge diff.
That might have been passable nonsense before he went on IR this year. But this was his sophmore season and the mulligan he got for last year comes right back on his record now that it is no longer a freak accident and he is just brittle. Remember he also had a hamstring injury in the preseason that clearly limited him.
Two can play the extrapolation game. He was on track for 144 targets catching 53% of his passes, for 9.8 yards per catch
Wrong at least on the career over part. Star on the other hand… we’ll have to wait and see.
Hoyer was definitely targeting him. If White would’ve found his groove, could’ve been a 1,000yd season.
What? Based on what? Am I forgetting he *did not play* his rookie season?
You could say its yet to be proven but you certainly cant say he’s wrong.
Lol I suppose not? Seems dubious at best haha
He’s wrong…there, I said it. Hee hee
When Killa Wing becomes a star, it won’t be in the NFL.
Matter of opinion. The guy did not show any where near his billing. You’re mistaken.
IR 2 years in a row? I’m right.
“He was on his way to a 70+ catch rookie season.”
So Hoyer must be on his way to passing for 4,000+ yards
with 14 TDs and no INTs ?
What White IS is on his way to is a 19 catch rookie season and averaging less than 10 yards per catch.
9.8 a catch.
Fine for a back or Tight end.
Not a supposed 4.3 deep threat.
Oh, FFS. Come ON!
The only question now is how many pizza or bbq joint’s KW will open? smh
KW’s – Not too shabby for branding a WINGS joint.
His ol lady leaves him in 3…..2…..1…..
If you can’t earn the coin, you can’t insert your money into the slot
his 4 year, $16.56M rookie contract is 100% guaranteed. Perks of being a top 10 pick.
He’s already been paid over $11M and is still guaranteed to be paid another $4.5M or so.
Unreal getting more than we would make in three lifetimes for doing next to nothing for it.
I plan on making that much, but I’ve already put exponentially more blood, sweat, and tears (lots of tears) into mine.
Don’t forget jizz
$11M for getting surgery and a fracture
Sign me up!
Yep. I got mine for free. Smh
he’s not done yet. Was looking a bit better every week. Let’s see how he looks when he comes back (later this year or next year).
I know, that’s why I sighed Data.
If he’d been shit, I would have given a DOOOOOONNNN’TTTT CAAAAARRREEEE!
Shaken, not stirred.
Jesus, they are amazing and all that, but can you imagine owning one of those fucking things…. for like 40 years?!?!
Bird people creep me the fuck out
I know a family that’s had one for 20 years. It’s a pain in the ass, they pass it around and take turns keeping it when they can’t stand it anymore.
fuuuuuck that shit dude. 40+ years
I heard a rumor he trained under Jerry Sandusky
you think he’s looking at a play chart right there but it’s actually a page he ripped out of the JC Penny’s boys underwear and swimwear section.
when I say “under Sandusky”, I mean literally, under Sandusky.
Is there a reason you know all the choice pedo magazines?
Redirect….is there a reason YOU know that it IS choice pedo mag material?
Because when you mentioned department store magazines I thought “wow, that is pretty genius of waffle”
He does have pedoface. Of course so does Tim Kaine.
I can’t decide if he looks like a pedo or a serial killer.
Maybe he’s that ever rare hybrid.
So… uh… he co-founded a Space Exploration company and his name is…
….wait for it….
For the love of God and humanity, activate Braverman.
He will be the best of all time!!!!!!!!
Isn’t he already?
Sadly somebody will need to kneecap royal. You don’t stick a 5’11” white boy on the outside.
No way that kid is 5′-11″. Maybe 5′-9″ in cleats on concrete.
last time we were in the playoff i am pretty sure we did not have a receiver over 6′
Didn’t they stick Harvard on their roster already?
Still on the PQ however I suspect that is only because of the future press conference to announce his contract extension and activation tomorrow…….
Braverman would be a Royal replacement. They need another big body at WR. That’s Meredith (and Wilson in a couple weeks).
Wilson’s last gasp, i would think.
Gotta be. Staying on the field is…important.
You forgot country, dude!
I was looking at the Waffle rant about S&C and it occurred to me that Talib recovered pretty quickly from his gunshot to the ass back in June. So his regiment must be outstanding.
In a more positive development Trevathan was limited in practice today.
What does “limited” really mean. Cutler was “limited” last week and he just stood on the sideline.
Cutler was out today I believe.
Also Miller and Royal were out of practice today.
Not good, though maybe expected with Miller given his history …
So…guess Alshon will be getting his contract either way, right?
Somebody was paying Alshon, this just makes it far and away more likely its going to be the Bears. Though that is entirely up to Alshon because they would have to tag him again for $18 million if they wanted to lock him up and there is no way they are going to do that.
I cant imagine that they would let him walk now, no matter what. Can you imagine the Bears explaining letting Alshon walk when Kevin White is a totally unproven commodity and literally NO ONE on the roster to replace a number 1 receiver spot(probably not even a WR2). This pretty much guarantees that Alshon is brought back, and hes just as injury prone. lol. This team man. This organization. Just LOL
Well Pace is pretty tight with the shekels, so we will see. Problem is, if Jeffery plays 14+ games, he is going to have all the leverage.
jewish joke. nice.
I was expecting you to use your catchphrase on that one
I know. Mixing it up for y’alls.
What is the over/under Jeffery lasts the season?
Jeffery is in an unrestricted contract year (he can go to FA without worrying about the tag). He will get out of the hot tub.
We almost gotta sign Alshon.
One, in spite of his injuries, he has performed well, esp for a 2nd rounder.
Two, be nice to actually keep homegrown talent
Three, might send a message to rest of team, cultivate good culture
Four, White’s bone are made of cardboard
Five, he’s not a bozo
Six, we’ll have some cap.
And seven, seven, there’s no tomorrow..
So HE cango on IR, next.
Yes, but only AFTER he signs the contract and gets his guaranteed money.
This is pretty cool. The rockets were supposed to blow up, but they exceeded test perimeters.
The fucking du chavue
Frog cars. Meh.
“Donald trump is tearing the nfl apart”
Waaah waaah… dont like it? Quit your job.
or get new friends?
Its current year, so anybody causing badfeelz is decisive. Unless of course the badfeelz is felt by a white heterosexual male, and then its “tough shit, that is what equality feels like, get used to it bitch”
Line up, 3 wide?:
Jeffery — Braverman (Slot) — Leno – Sitton – Whitehair – Long – Massie — Royal or Meredith
Hoyer Da Destroyer
Illegal formation. 10 players on field. 5 yard penalty, repeat 1st down.
I actually don’t know. Mike Singletary insinuated as much during his infamous speech… but how confident are we in Mike Singletary’s knowledge of the rulebook?
“I’d rather play with 10 people and just get penalized all the way until we have to do something else rather than play with 11 when I know that right now that person is not sold out to be a part of this team,”
Just couldn’t quit while ahead huh? You made a light hearted comment. Received a one word non-negative response and then just couldn’t fight the urge to shoot out a negative statement about a Bears legend. Way to go.
“Royal or Meredith”? So Eddie has to fight for PT with Cam while Braverman is a starter? Hmmm …
yeah, I read the first paragraph and went…. meh, maybe summa you guys will like it
Okay, ill go with patience then
Attention span is fine too
Pretty sure he entered rehab to get away from Cleveland.
And if he is a drunk, so what? So long as he doesn’t do stupid shit. Hire a full time chauffer for him like Arthur on the Rocks.
Drunks also never get hurt in collisions.
Drunk football might have a future.
I think I am already doing that…
Supposedly he is going to get clean for the woman that baby trapped him.
Mike Adams to RT
$6 million down the drain.
Massie begs to differ
Pace is the Donald Trump of GM’s. Good at looking flashy bad at generating results.
Jes. You know, sometimes this coaching staff surprises me with common sense.
What’s the worse that can happen? Adams sucks and we’re back to Massie again?
Or maybe they were just waiting for Adams to get healthy again
I always wonder about that. As a fan, you see a pile of dogshit there and you wonder what the hell are the coaches choosing that over. It’s not like White or Floyd who you are at least trying to develop, Massie is what he is at this point
We also picked up that big ass OT last year.
Fuck. Give him a spin if Adams burns out.
Lots of teams are trying unprovens on the Oline. Sometimes, one sticks.
How many bad first rounders can we draft? Brittle boned fucker last year, skinny ass LB this year. Got lucky with Long. We may as well trade our firsts for a bunch of seconds and thirds. WTF
I have been thinking that we should probably just trade them for players.
No no no, Pace is WAY smarter than every other GM. He’s obviously gotten the better end of the deal in his trades.
2016 – Leonard Floyd – Current Bear. Rookie.
2015 – Kevin White – Current Bear. Missed last season. IR today.
2014 – Kyle Fuller – Current Bear, 3 Seasons. Injured.
2013 – Kyle Long – Current Bear, 4 Seasons. Beast. Playing injured.
2012 – Shea McClellin – Patriots, 5 Seasons. Woof.
2011 – Gabe Carimi – Free Agent. 4 Seasons, 3 Teams. Injury Bust.
2010 – No Pick – Jay Cutler Trade. Denver traded the pick.
2009 – No Pick – Jay Cutler Trade. Denver drafted Robert Ayers
2008 – Chris Williams – Free Agent. 8 Seasons, 3 teams.
2007 – Greg Olsen – 9 Seasons, Traded to Carolina. 2x Pro Bowler.
2006 – No Pick – Traded down. Daniel Manning & Devin Hester. Gold.
2005 – Cedric Benson – Retired. 8 years. 3 teams. Bears Bust.
2004 – Tommie Harris – Retired. 8 years, 2 teams. 104 games as Bear.
2003 – Rex Grossman – Retired. Terrible. XLI.
2003 – Michael Haynes – Retired, 5 NFL years, 3 teams, Coaches HS
2002 – Marc Colombo – Retired, 111 NFL games, best years in Dallas
2001 – David Terrell – Retired, 4 years in NFL (Bears), Arrested Drugs
2000 – Brian Urlacher – Retired, Future Hall of Famer, Bears Legend
They had slightly better luck in 1983.
Courtesy then GM, Jim Finks.
It’s a little murky (at least on Wikipedia) who was responsible for the 1983 draft.
It says in the Finks article that he resigned in 1982 because Halas hired Ditka without consulting his GM (a true bonehead move by Halas). That matches my recollection.
Under the Vainisi article, it says he became GM in August 1983.
Regardless, I imagine most of the scouting expertise was still left from Finks.
Holy shit we’ve had some stinkers.
The only real stand outs are 00,06,07,13
To be fair Colombo and Benson turned out to be all right, just not with the Bears.
One could argue, Olsen too.
He didn’t reach his full potential, no, but he was good and was Cutler’s best target when he was here. Until they traded him because idiot Martz didn’t want to move into the 21st century. Fucking Manumaleuna. And people wonder why Cutler never lived up to his hype.
Cutler never lived up to his hype because he is an average starting QB who was overhyped. Not because Greg Olsen was traded.
I would say above average but point taken.
If you didn’t trade for Cutler you are actually suffering at QB until 2011 when Andy Dalton would have been available (I am assuming we were never going to draft #1 with that D). Or 2012 for Wilson or Foles (though maybe we are drafting high enough for Tannehill at that point).
I wasn’t beefing about the trade. Or MMQBing it. I was only implying that the excuse gig is up. Every QB in the league has them. Pretty much every year. Closest thing to a perfect supporting cast I’ve seen recently was Manning’s situation last year: arguably historic type D and real good playmakers on O with a solid OL. Actually Newton’s wasn’t bad either, except that his wideouts were pretty much dog shit.
But for the most part every QB in the league has one positional group or even whole unit that is average or below average. Hence, the Cutty excuses (especially after 8 years) ring hollow taken in larger context. Not that they are completely invalid. Just that they often apply to every QB in the league.
Just saying, I don’t think it can ever be considered wasted first rounders making that trade. Hence the value of even an average QB, though Cutler is more bipolar than average. 2008, 2011, 2013, and 2015 his QBR was 20 points higher than 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2014.
“Bi-polar” equals average — that’s the nature of “averages”. Cutty has always been high ceiling/low floor. Thus, the season-to-season swings.
Bimodal. One of the ways they “trick” people into going to law school is with the “average” starting salary of something like $80k. The dirty secret is about 10% of lawyers make 160k but that drives the average. The median attorney makes somewhere around 50k. Not horrible, but not exactly something you plop a $100k down, when your undergrad degree probably has you making somewhere around $40k (up to 60k if it was in something useful).
Neckbeard was our bridge. The Bengals make the playoffs every year with Dalton. I’d have been just fine with that.
You would have had to known to take him though. And keep in mind the wheels were off our D by 2013 and Lach was just out there in 2012.
Just saying is all. Cutler wasn’t the answer either. It’s still a zero sum game.
No the answer was
2009 – draft Roidrage Barbie in the 1st, trade up for Jarius Byrd in the 2nd, grab Vasquez (G) in the 3rd, and pick up Julian edelman before the Pats
2010 – Grab Earl Thomas or JPP (teach him fireworks are bad), Gronk in the 2nd, and Navaro Bowman in the 3rd, Geno Atkins in the 4th, and Antonio Brown in the 6th
2011 – trade up to get Tyron Smith, also pick up Richard Sherman
2012 – trade up for Fletcher Cox, pick up Wilson and Norman and win the SuperBowl 3 years in a row.
But I can’t go back in time to tell Angelo what to do.
I’m only clairvoyant in bed sadly
clair voyant = MBs stage name when he is cross dressing. NTTAWWT
You’ve seen my show!!!
Love aaaaalllll my fans!
and it was a might fine show.
I alway aim to please!
06 was no 1st rounder and Greg Olsen didn’t do much for the Bears. You should include Tommie Harris though.
Yeah, Harris was beastly for a few years. Pro Bowl-level performance. Career could have been longer but D interior linemen probably have shelf lives that equate to RBs.
Olsen was the best receiver on the team when he was with the Bears.
Agree on TH. Olsen was a great pick, we just decided to inexplicably trade him away.
And so many of them were head-scratchers.
Floyd? Plz. (AND we traded UP for him)
Shea? Everyone was penciling in Chandler Jones or Mercilus
Benson? Already have a fucking stud HB!
The only gamble to payoff was Long, who I didn’t like originally.
I vaguely remember being in your ballpark with Long. “didn’t like” is strong though. I think we were like “a first round guard, really??”
I specifically remember wanting Sharrif Floyd (on Vikes D) or Eifert, or trade down (Alec Oggletree was a guy I wanted to trade down for.
At that time I remember thinking, “A ONE YEAR wonder? Another project? a 24 yr old rookie who only played FOOTBALL for like two years? an OG!?!”
Yeah, I was not really all that happy with the pick at the time, and a lot of other regs too.
I think Yonny was on the same page.
For once, Long defied the Bears 1st rd curse. (cross fingers)
Long, Urlacher, et. al. selections explained: “Even a blind squirrel…”
Holy fuck. That’s a shit show. Outside of Lach, I’d take Harris again. That’s it other than Long.
Hester would have been worth a first if Angelo could somehow see the future. That dumb mother fucker couldn’t even see the past.
Olsen was worth a first round pick. Unless he gets hurt, he’ll be a 12 year starter.
True. I guess I forget about him since it feels like he’s a Carolina Panther.
I get that part, Johnny. But a subsequent decision by a dipshit OC does not make him unworthy of his draft position – that’s all I’m saying.
We are in agreement. I would draft those yards and longevity were it my decision.
He was sporadic at beeeest for us. Sigh… Dave, how quickly we forgets
If your teams list off first round draft picks reads like a Stephen King story, you MIGHT be a Bear fan.
It’s dog shit murph. When it comes to the 1st round, the Bears step in dog shit almost every year.
4real, claiming he’s fast and shit. Who fuckin cares if this WR frame LB is running into 250 + Lineman who giggles when he engages them.
Did Virginia break a mirror or kick a midget or something? Fucking snakebit. Just when he was starting to look OK.
“White’s injuries involve different bones, but it’s still the same leg. Last year, the muscle atrophy in his left calf was obvious before and after surgery.”
I’m a little torn as to which “Fuck You” is the all-time movie best
My pick: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbT77fP8fl4
I read somewhere that Steven Seagal was marked by not only the Italian mob, but also the Japanese and Russian one too.
Steven Seagal. Bringing mobs together since 1991.
Don’t leave out the Jamaicans!
They missed a good one. Ray Liotta’s “Fuck you,pay me” voice over list from Goodfellas.
Oh yeah! Gotta pay the big man!
Da Destroyer made Kurt Warner’s top 5 QB.
Ya go, baldie!
Hopefully Cutler’s good to go next week. I feel like Hoyer will be OK against the Colts since their D sucks hard, but his dink-and-dunk shit will get figured out quick by a competent D and then they’ll be fucked.
It might get figured out this week, tbh.
Without White (a 4.3 threat), defenses will be more brazen in stopping the run and blitzing.
For some odd reason, the Loins didn’t blitz.
Only way to combat this is by hitting someone over the top, or screens. Neither of which we have particularly done with any success.
However, like you said, that Colt’s D is fucking horrid.
I don’t think the Colts D will be able to counter as long as Loggains has a good game plan like he did last week. But without the deep threat it’s only a matter of time. Which makes me wonder where that game plan was the first few games.
Double teamed until Royal and Millar and Meredith prove they can do something. Royal did last week, but he has a bum calf now, so its possible they are going to make him prove it again.
Dude, did you not fucking SEE meredith’s coming out party last week dawg?!?!
Check THIS shit out: 4 for 28, long of….. 12!!!!!!!!
Without White (a 4.3 threat).
Don’t you mean the 4.5 “rumor”.?
Howard seems to know how to catch footballs – the ‘dink’ to a competent RB is an effective counter to blitzes.
Cool story …
He may be a dumbass, but he is at least a man of his word, and running like a mofo this year.
Underachiever AND brittle.

Well, leave it to FF to inform us on White’s inj.
Long story short: 8-10 weeks possible, but 12 weeks most likely.
He done for the season.
smh. It’s too bad that we zigged when we should have zagged by drafting him. Pace rolled snake eyes with Killa Wing. See how I did that?
See? That was a typo. Should have been “snake eye”.
I’ve never been a fan of Super-Hero movies.
The exceptions for me are usually the ‘alternative’ hero flick. My favorites being: “Unbreakable” w/ Willis/Jackson and “The Cobbler” w/ Sandler/Hoffman/Method Man.
Although! I was pleasantly surprised with Batman vs. Superman. I never knew going in that Wonder Woman had a roll in the flick. Not only did she have a part, but she was by far, the biggest badass in the movie – I really liked her character.
So, my question is: Do I need to watch the rest of the movies from that universe?
Just watch one ender. Just one…
OK, I will.
Let the fevered egos debate in the absence of any sports science degrees.
One thing is for sure, we just got better in the receiving game. Now Meredith gets Kevin’s snaps, and we can start catching targets now.
I’m looking forward to that.
Hey, i didn’t get to watch, how’d he do last game irish?

2015 Draft- Take a WR with a history of lower leg injuries, a position based on speed and quick twitch, in the top 10.
2016 Draft- Take a 24 year old pass rush specialist who has never been able to rush the pass in the top 15.
Ryan Pace= Phil Emery but less weird. Fire him too.
