DaBearsBlog has given away tickets to a Bears game each of the past two seasons – through the draft party at Cortland’s Garage in 2012 and through our Ditka Lookalike party in Wicker Park this past December. (We’ll be doing another charitable event this fall. We’re still working through details.)
This year we are instituting a rather unique and interesting draft contest. It is also quite difficult.
Here are the rules.
HOW TO SUBMIT
In the comments below, simply type CONTEST: before making your selection. I can not shuffle through all of the commentary for your picks. This will enable me to run through the comments quickly.
ROUND ONE
In order to stay alive in this contest, you have to guess the first round selection of the Chicago Bears correctly. Quite simple. Guess the player.
Note: If the Bears trade out of the first round, all those submitting first round entries will advance.

ROUNDS TWO & THREE
In order to make it to Saturday in this contest, you have to get the positions of both the Bears second and third round selections correct. You do not have to guess the players. You merely have to guess the positions.
Note I: For the sake of tiebreaking procedures (see below) also submit a player with the positions you’re choosing.
Note II: You will submit two players. If the Bears only make one pick in those two rounds, the position must be one of the two you’ve guessed. If the Bears make more than two picks in the two rounds, your two positions must be included.
Note III: DBB will be using the NFL.com positional label for all picks. So if a player is listed as a RB/KR on NFL.com I don’t care if you think the player will also be playing WR in the NFL. We can’t have anarchy.

ROUNDS FOUR THRU SIX
(The Bears currently have two sixth round picks and no seventh.)
You guess the four positions you believe the Bears will select in rounds four through six. Those selections will be scored as followed:
4 pts – Fourth round
3 pts – Fifth round
2 pts – Sixth round, selection one
1 pt – Sixth round, selection two

SELECTIONS ARE DUE BY 11:00 AM CT SATURDAY MORNING. NO LATE SELECTIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
THE TIEBREAKERS
Since this is an unsponsored contest, we won’t be giving away multiple sets of tickets. The following are the tiebreakers:
Tiebreaker 1: Most players guessed correctly from rounds 2-3. (Remember to submit players for rounds 2 and 3 even though you will only be judged on positions.)
Tiebreaker 2: 4th round position.
Tiebreaker 3: 5th round position.
Tiebreaker 4: 6th round, first pick position.
Tiebreaker 5: 6th round, second pick position.
THE PRIZE
Two (2) tickets to a Chicago Bears home game this season. DaBearsBlog will also be open to purchasing you two tickets to a road game should it be easier for you. If you’d like to attend the game with myself and my compatriots, that game would be sometime after mid-November.
