Malawi is first in africa in number of malari cases.

    Fuck the lions.

    • MB30SD

I made up that stat btw.

  • MB30SD

Also just had an opportunity to watch that taxi scene on the last thread… jesus, painful. So cheesy and hackneyed.

  • Trac

Prediction: Bears 27, Pussy Cats 23.

    • AlbertInTucson

I think that point total is on the low side, Trac. Just 50? I think they need 35 or more to win tomorrow.

      • Trac

It would be nice to see some ball control by the Bears tomorrow. Don’t know if 19 mph gusts are bad or not but that’s the prediction for tomorrow.

        • AlbertInTucson

I bow to your point total prognostication, Trac, tho’ Weather guys got the wind prediction wrong (Weather guys? Wrong? Go figure).

  • Trac

Pretty good break down of the first Lions game by a fan on youtube if you have the time.

  • Trac

Things that have to happen for the Bears to win this game:

    1. Cutler HAS to protect the football. If bad Jay shows up, forget about it.
    2. Podlesh and the Special Teams Unit cannot play like they did last time.
    3. Forte has to have a great game.

    • DaBearsBlog

You know, Trac, I tried a self-embargo on Podlesh. But you’ve opened it up. No chance they get big game from him. You know why? They need one.

      • CanadaBear

Jeff I always thought Podlesh was a little streaky but overall OK. He recovered last year and was better towards the end of the year. But I’ve come around to your way of thinking. When you most need one, that’s when he’s least likely to deliver.

  • Trac

Regarding Jeff’s twitter: If Trestman pulls Cutler, consider this his last year as a Bear. Jay’s going have to be really stinking it up for that to happen and I don’t think Cutty will let that happen. As Jay watched McCown in the film room the last two weeks, I can’t help but think that may have been the best possible therapy Jay could ever have received. I think that alone will go a long way in helping Jay make better decisions.

    • CanadaBear

Couldn’t agree more Trac. Let’s hope the light came on for Jay about playing small ball works really well vs always looking for the big play. That’s my only real complaint about Cutler.

    • johnnywad

Jay Cutler isn’t going anywhere. With the exception of one game, he was having a good season prior to the injury. Jay is not Brady or Manning, or Brees, but he’s pretty damn good. Theres no way they let him walk without a draft choice they’ve groomed to take his place.

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

Has anyone figured out the image above? I have no idea how Natti Ices, pale ale, super 8 motel, what looks like a creepy image of a mother marrying her son, some dude spliced into a suit and tie, and I think Malawi.

    • bearsfantillend

one weekend you drink all that beer end up in a super 8 with someone that looks like your mother, and are so embarrassed that you got to leave the country for Malawi, to avoid the ridicule from your friends. and the spliced picture was used to forge a passport you didnt have.

  • mikebrownhadaposse

    • Stafford Dead

What is your partying style tonight?
      a. low key tons of beers and shit might get crazy later
      b. red bull vodkas and chicks with huge fake bombs at cheesy dance clubs
      c. reckless pounding then strip club
      d. dive bar bears talk session and getting drunk as fuck
      e. portillos and falling asleep early like vadge

      • Stafford Dead

because there is a slim chance i could get out to the north side as long as you don’t end up at any place with 12 dollar miller lites besides Ditkas.

      • MB30SD

You know what my vote is… B… Definitely and most certainly B

        • tobijohn

          Why did I know that?

      • CanadaBear

Put me down for E. I’m comfortable in my Vadge lifestyle!

        • Stafford Dead

i’m actually down with it too Canada. I just wanted to give MBP options.

  • Cormonster

Watching thousands of grown men shaking red and white pom poms at the Alabama game has to be one of the most uncool things I’ve ever seen. What a bunch of Sally’s. NTTAWWT.

    • CanadaBear

When I lived in Western Iowa my best friend lived in Omaha. We would go to The Zoo Bar in Lincoln and catch great Blues acts. We were down there one time to see Lil Ed and the Blues Imperials on a Saturday night. Nebraska had their homecoming that day. Nebraska was in the top 10 and they killed some non-conference patsy (probably SW Missouri State Teachers College or the Cedar Rapids Barber College). We went to some restaurant before the show and everyone was wearing Red and White, singing the fight song and acting like enormous douchebags. That pretty much sums up College Ball for me.

My favorite comment was “Does the cheetah look dope with dreads and a platinum grill.”

  • AlbertInTucson

That gets reversed, boys & girls. Damn.

  • AlbertInTucson

Live by the 4th & 1, die by the 4th and 1 but I am never for passing up 3 that early in the game. Especially. Never.

  • AlbertInTucson

A POX on Referee, Bill Levy.

He allowed the Lions to get away with all kinds of cheap, late crap on Cutler all day and only flagged that obvious throw down on McCown by Fairley.

Also, “Cutler questionable with a bad ankle.”

I say the Bears were just too embarrassed to say he re-injured his groin.

  • AlbertInTucson

Bengals just had a prayer answered.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Agree, Blogfather.

    This one’s on Trestmen.

I expect he will take full responsibility.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Red zone turnover.

    Dropped TD pass.

    Turnover on downs.

As well as the defense played, they surrendered that 3rd Lions’ TD on a 3rd and long.

Any one of them is costly. As a group, they were deadly.

  • AlbertInTucson

“Alshon has to catch that touchdown. Has to understand the moment and reward this performance from Jay.”

A receiver is thinking (or has TIME to think of) any of that 2nd sentence during the process???

    He dropped it.

Yes, he should have caught it .

“Has to understand the moment and reward this performance from Jay.”

    is in my opinion, pointless.

  • AlbertInTucson

Overall: Disappointing, to say the least. Detroit was just waiting to get beat today.

  • AlbertInTucson

“I know most Bears fans are depressed right now. I’m not. I think the future is ridiculously bright for this organization.’

I’m not depressed over today, Blogaftaher, just disappointed.

Killer Trifecta: Home Loss / Division Loss / Conference Loss.

While I respect your optimism, I remain pragmatic.

I submit that in 1985 the future looked “ridculously bright’ as well but they still couldn’t muster a 2nd Super Bowl appearance for two decades and we had to endure the Wanny & Jauron(g) regimes as well as years of quarterback roulette.

  • AlbertInTucson

And now, a word from our sponsor:

It’s on the record that I urged caution…

    …before playing Jay Cutler Today.

He started well, then ended up just watchin’…

…as a BIG opportunity slipped away.
