Bear down folks. Trying to decide if I want to endure the game today or just go hunt some fall run stripers in the delta.
Actually leaning toward the game, sadly. The water’s stirred up fron recent rain, plus I’m a masochist. Either way, cheers, boys

    • That Guy

      Go hunt the strippers.

      • CanadaBear

What’s the limit on strippers in the Delta?

        • beninnorcal

2 a day at 18 inches or longer

          • CanadaBear

I was actually being a wise ass with That Guy about strippers not stripers! Just being my usual charming self! That’s a pretty low limit on stripers.

  • Irish Sweetness

Rude health to our Mitchell. I won’t be watching though. I’m not giving up on sleep to watch this shit.

    Enjoy. Don’t drink and drive!

    • beninnorcal

I was just wondering if you’d be on here. Cheers, brother

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky

      You know you’ll be awake.

I didn’t think he was that old.

        • CanadaBear

40 ish. I can’t remember when that started up with me. I think around that age.

    • Joecashflow

I came across the pond, so will watch in Florida

  • BearDown100393

If you choose not to watch today’s game, how on earth can you defend any facet of this franchise’s ineptness?

    • Big Mike

I’ll be watching. Feel like a sucker, but I’ll be watching. Looking for the positives. If you hate the franchise so much, why do you stick around. That’s the real question.

      • Scharfinator

There’s a difference between watching someone run something you care about into the ground and hating that something.

        • BearDown100393

BM and 2 others cannot comprehend that. Like many others. And that actually validates the McCaskeys.

          • Big Mike

They aren’t running it into the ground. They’ve made 3 or 4 decisions in the last decade. Fire Lovie, Hire Emery, FIre Emery, Hire Acorsi to Hire Pace and Fox, promote Philips to President. That’s it. There’s a coaching saying that goes “It’s about Jimmys and Joes more than Xs and Os”. Bears need more impact players. They are improving in that area. Coaching staffs will come and go until the formula and timing is right. You rant and rave about the big picture, while staring at the little picture. It’s a non-sequitur

        • Dis Guy Trublinsky

True. But according to this line of thinking, the only solution is for the owners of this privately held business to sell it to appease a handful of crazy people. It’s a business worth north of a billion dollars. Why would they give a fuck what Bear Down thinks? They don’t. And sooner rather than later, this team will be winning games again. And the stands will be full again. And they’ll continue making money. So what’s the point?

          • CanadaBear

I read just recently they are the 7th most valuable NFL franchise at $2.7 billion. I’m guessing they really don’t care what any of us think!

          • Scharfinator

Oh I’m with you there, I’ve long since abandoned my emotional investment in the Bears. If they eventually turn it around sometime, great, but until then, I’m comfortably numb.

      • BearDown100393

I want those who are ruining this franchise to leave.

And I won’t shut up to appease those who defend those who are ruining it.

        • Dis Guy Trublinsky

So you want the owners to leave? Correct? That’s your thing?

I’ve unblocked you for fun. Since half of the last two posts are filled with your nonsense, I’ve decided to watch you unravel. It’s pretty crazy how much energy and time you’ve devoted to a completely misguided and ultimately fruitless task.

          • Big Mike

Hilarious I did the same thing. Now I’m annoyed.

          • Dis Guy Trublinsky

On a completely different front Mike, I remember back in the day your son being a pretty solid Lacrosse player.

So mine is graduating in May, and ended up with offers to join two small college teams. Ultimately he’s decided to get his education elsewhere as it’s a better fit for his future. But it was a hell of a ride.

My daughter is a Sophomore and starting to get some D1 looks from small women’s programs. Good times.

I’m gonna miss all this when it’s over.

          • Big Mike

My son had a great HS lacrosse career. He played one year in college. Enjoyed it, but it was a job. His HS career was with guys he’d played with his whole life. I am now out of the sports dad mode. I’ve kept coaching youth football and am the stadium announcer for home games at the local high school.

          • CanadaBear

Have you had any missteps as the stadium announcer? I could see myself getting excited and swearing at the very least.

          • Big Mike

First year. Left Mic open while commenting to spotter. Nothing terrible. Things like “damn he got lit up”, worst was an “ah shit, he didn’t get it”. Believe it or not, there are stadium announcer high school policies and procedures. Can’t be too much of a homer. We can do things like enthusiastically declare First Downs. We work a little bit harder to call out multiple tacklers for the home team, occasionally we highlight a great block. We do a lot of logistic announcements. The job is to announce who carries, was targeted for a pass, pass defender, tacklers, kickers, kick return. My goal is to do that, add in yards gained or loss, down and distance. Also try not to mention who the home Team pass defender was if they get beat.

When the subs come in, I name everyone near the ball on defense, sometimes I’ll even fudge to give a kid a shout out.

          • CanadaBear

You’re lucky that open mic wasn’t worse. Part of my job years ago was talking on a two-way radio to the guys in the field. Every now and then someone would have their knee up against the transmit button on mic in the truck (almost always at lunch time). Holy crap were some of those conversations hilarious! Usually it would go on for a while and then you would hear someone pull up in another truck and tell them.

          • Big Mike

Oh man… The biggest complaint we get is pronouncing names wrong. We’ve made announcements to the effect, “if we say a name wrong, pass a note up to the booth”. We walk the field before the game to get any tough names sorted out (away team). Number changes, or bad rosters (#38 playing, but not on the roster) are the other trouble spots.

          • CanadaBear

I write a lot and people get just as pissed if you misspell their name. I try to always get that correct.

          • Big Mike

It’s a big deal. What gets me is when people know I’m saying it wrong and don’t tell me. The worst situation was a player who had a “double last name” something like Bailey-Waters. I had coached this boy for 5 years coming up in youth ball. I knew the family. Uncle’s, Cousins, Step Dad, Dad, mom, little sister. Had picked him up at his house for practice a dozen times. I’m announcing the game, calling his name and his mom is sitting in the stands yelling and screaming at the booth. Other fans are trying to calm her down. Turns out earlier that week he had dropped the dad’s name and was simply Waters. An emotional deal most likely, but nobody told us.

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

If you choose to watch todays game, how on earth can you NOT defend this franchise’s ineptness? By watching, you are feeding into TV ratings which leads to advertising money which then eventually makes it to the pockets of the McCaskeys. Therefore you are validating their belief that you support the team and their decision making.

      • willbest

I am not a Nielsen house, nor have I enabled wifi on my TV (which I am convinced tracks you) nor do I have a cable box (which I am also convinced tracks you). So I am pretty much invisible to the NFL.

        • Big Mike

          This post explains a lot.

          • willbest

Ever read the terms of service on anything that connects to the internet?

But just from a business standpoint, why wouldn’t they collect that data? Comcast has to negotiate with ESPN and all the other content providers. It would be exceptionally useful in those negotiations.

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

You should be convinced that if you are plugged into a cable company in anyway they are tracking what you are watching.

        • That Guy

So your TV has wifi. Unless you have signed on to your TV with personally-identifiable information, or otherwise link it with something that can be linked to something else (like an email address you use with other devices or web sites), you’re anonymous and just about invisible.

If you’re really concerned, get a VPN. Good ones like Nord or Express can connect through your router and protect every networked device in your home, for something like $3/month.

But your broader point is right: the Average Joe watching football has absolutely no effect on ratings. That’s why the Papa John’s crap and even NFL ratings concerns are absolutely ridiculous. You’re talking about a few dozen people tuning out of a sample of a couple thousand households. What the rest of us do has virtually no effect on advertising revenues, rates, ratings, etc.

  • Big Mike

    Good morning suckers.

  • Bobby Douglass

Wow. I watched the Gibron and Jauron years, I’ll watch this.

    • BearDown100393

      No it is much worse.

At least fans knew change was needed.

This era is embraced. And defended. By the likes of Jeff and his members.

      • CanadaBear

Spoken by someone that did not actually see the Gibron years. If you had, you would never have made that comment. FFS one play the QB went up to the line and got under the guard. Another play the qb stepped back to call time out, the ball was snapped over the qb’s head and the defender grabbed it and ran for a TD.

        • Big Mike

The Bears from the mid 60s to the late 70s were horrible. I think two 1 and done playoff appearances. Maybe a 20 year stretch to the Ditka Era.

          • CanadaBear

I”d say the late 60’s after Sayers and Butkus had a few years to get dinged up. Other than that, yeah one good year under Pardee and then back to the crapper.

      • Bobby Douglass

Hey, I’m a fan. What else needs to be said?

      • Big Mike

You are such a pessimist. The Gibron and Jauron years were far worse.

        • CanadaBear

DJ had the miracle year but other than that it was tough sledding. The Gibron years, oh my.

    • ButtonShoes

You watched the Gibron years? My sympathies.

  • BearDown100393

“I thought Bears would be no better than 5-6 after Eagles game. That’s still possible.”

A losing record is a losing record Jeff.

  • willbest

“Loggains’ play calling is the strangest part because he ran a more open offense for #BarkleyTime. He can’t want to call the game this way, can he?” – Jeff

He can if Barkley gave him more confidence than Trubisky does. I know saying something like that is sacrilege around here though.

    • CanadaBear

It shouldn’t be a sacrilege. Barkley certainly was around the league longer and at one point was considered a first rounder (until he played another year of college). If they don’t take the wraps off MT for a winnable game, I can only imagine how bad that Philly game will be.

      • willbest

Yeah I don’t get the Barkley hate either. He won the college job as a true freshman, was the starter for 4 years, then was a backup with the Eagles and the Cardinals for 3 years, before coming to Chicago and had something like 10 weeks to learn Foxball before being pressed into service. He has 10,000 more live game and practice reps than Trubisky does.

        • CanadaBear

Honestly I don’t get the hate for any Bears players unless they are horrible in real life. I’ve been really pissed about a bunch of players over the years but the only one I have truly hated was the Cadester. That had more to do with him being an asshole that didn’t prepare for games and tried to blame it on teammates than anything else.

    • BearDown100393

      Barkley was better. Period.

  • willbest

“If Trubisky is what I think he is, Bears will make playoffs 75% of his
career. That’ll give them great chance to win title with him.” – Jeff

I want to frame this tweet. Just to demonstrate how absurd this claim is, Drew Brees who is no worse than the 4th best QB to play the game in the last 15 years is batting around .400 on playoff makes. Yeah but the Saints are an inept organization. Okay, I will assume the Bears aren’t and present you with the QB who is no worse than 6th best over the last 15 years. Ben Roethlisberger, is still batting less than .700.

    • CanadaBear

If you’ve got a top 10 qb you always have a punchers chance to win games but that’s certainly no guarantee the team is playoff bound.

      • Dis Guy Trublinsky

Especially not in a division that’s home to Aaron Rodgers in his prime.

      • CanadaBear

If he can end up with a winning record he will last longer than you think. Other than just signing choir boys, it’s pretty difficult to keep these guys on the straight and narrow.

        • willbest

In Miami no less, but battery and snorting coke in the locker room would seem to be things that can be avoided.

          • CanadaBear

Who would have guessed that coach was so out of control? That’s one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen in the NFL. Not that a coach was snorting Peruvian Marching Powder but that he would film it and send it to a stripper! FFS I wouldn’t have done that when I was 20. Guys getting into fights with their partners or in bars is pretty hard to stop (before the fact).

  • BerwynBomber

Jameis Winston seems like a colossal shithead.

    • CanadaBear

He never appeared to be the sharpest knife in the drawer. Is this comment about the groping? I haven’t heard him say much so far.

      • BerwynBomber

The rape allegation, the standing up in the student hall shouting about pussy, stealing crab legs from a supermarket, instigating the fight the other week that resulted in Evans cheap-shotting Lattimore, this Uber girl’s charge.

Just seems to never end with the guy. (And I might have missed one or two other things.)

        • CanadaBear

Yeah, no doubt. I thought maybe he made it worse by saying something really stupid about the groping charge. When people have been kissing your ass since your age was single digits because you were an athletic wonder, things can go sideways for sure. Esp if the guy isn’t all that bright or introspective. Hope he figures it out before he gets into any more hot water.

          • BerwynBomber

My suspicion is that most peoples’ character is pretty well formed by 23 or 24 years of age. You can curb it, and with the help of support groups, medication or whatever, keep the worst of it at bay. But it’s still your dominant character trait.

            Shithead seems to be his.

          • CanadaBear

I agree but people can change if they want to.

          • willbest

I thought he claimed the uber driver needed to pay better attention to who was sitting in the front seat. Basically, he is trying to get one of his entourage to take the hit and avoid the NFL suspension.

Titans certainly got the best QB in that draft from a both on and off the field perspective.

        • BerwynBomber

Mostly agree but Mariota’s taken a noticeable step back this year. He’ll probably be alright in the end but career expectations have been knocked down a peg or two.

    • BerwynBomber

We could go 0-16 and I’d still watch. But I’m a sucker for football.

Especially when played outside and on natural turf.

Cannot ask for more (so far) from the Bears on either side of the football.

  • 505Bears

    The fuck is this team?!

    • BearDown100393

Maybe the players decided failure was no longer acceptable. Time will tell but looks good so far.

      • Joecashflow

I think it must have been an inspiring Madam McCaskey locker room talk.

        • BearDown100393

Madame Tussauds has figured out how to make waxed lips move?

  • willbest

I cant wait for jeff to walk back his Fox dead man walking shtick

    • Amazing what can happen when you think you’re getting fired.

      • BearDown100393

Hobo will not be back in 2018.

  • BearDown100393

Bears defense read that play before the snap. Perfect.

  • willbest

    of couse he isn’t

  • underway

    We are challenge retarded

  • BearDown100393

    Hobo lost his red hanky.

  • Joecashflow

A few more strip sacks and we’ll have this wrapped up before next Qtr.

  • BearDown100393

Stafford is not firing on all cylinders.

Missed an open Jones twice this quarter.

    Good.

  • BearDown100393

    Substantial upgrade through 1st quarter.

  • underway

So that’s how a real football team starts a quarter.

    • Best 1st QTR perhaps in ALL Fox’s tenure.

      The anti-zombies.

      • madscout12

And it only took an embaressing loss to our bitter rival to do it.

        • BearDown100393

That loss should have never happened. And maybe that has sunk into their heads all week.

    • BearDown100393

      Yes.

      And it should be expected.

  • BearDown100393

This type of effort and execution (through 1 quarter mind you) would have destroyed Green Bay last week.

  • Things I will never get.

Taking ur baby to a football game

    • madscout12

      My nightmare.

No kids that cant pee on their own.

    • willbest

i thought you needed a ticket for them. seems expensive

  • BearDown100393

    That is a terrible penalty.

  • BearDown100393

    Mental lapses have huge consequences.

One bad event leads to another.

  • underway

    Welp.

    • madscout12

This fucking team. Bonehead mistake and then a mental error.

    • BearDown100393

Well the game has now completely changed. And Mitch is going to have to get that bad play out of his head and resume all the right things he was doing and executing beforehand.

  • Papa Pawn

7 point Hroniss Bonus for Lions

    • beninnorcal

I think Whitehair is C, and that was on Mitch

      • BearDown100393

The penalty got in his head. And he did not focus on the snap. IMO.

        • beninnorcal

          Agreed

        • willbest

          it wasnt his fucking penalty

          • beninnorcal

He means it got into Mitch’s head

          • willbest

why would something you didn’t do get in your head, it wasnt 1 & 25

          • beninnorcal

Because it blew 15 of Mitch’s hard earned yard on the previous play, big swing

          • willbest

but it didn’t make his job significantly harder. so you are saying he is a pussy

          • BearDown100393

I didn’t write that it was.

But it was his legs that got those yards turned back by Long’s dumb penalty.

    • madscout12

Thatd not on the center and it is Whitehair.

  • beninnorcal

That’ll bring the mood back down

  • 505Bears

    There’s the bears I remember

  • beninnorcal

Are who we thought they were, god bless ’em

    • BearDown100393

If it spirals downward because of that sequence, yes.

      This next series is huge.

  • Joecashflow

    Back to Bear ball.

  • Because the Fox Bears will NEVER just blow out a team or make a fan conformable

    • BearDown100393

The problems of this team extend beyond Hobo.

  • beninnorcal

Atleast the defense gets a spell

    • BearDown100393

Time of possession for Bears offense has been good so far.

  • Joecashflow

They have to give a fumble to somebody and that one sticks on Biscuit.

    • willbest

      good cause it was him

  • willbest

how irresponsible was long on that run though. where is that frustration coming from already

  • beninnorcal

    Nice throw by Mitch there

  • beninnorcal

Maybe Benny is our screen guy we’ve been missing as of late?

    • BearDown100393

Did his job on the last play.

  • underway

Who is calling the O? Is there an imposter at O coord?

    • BearDown100393

Perhaps Pace finally ordered the cuffs off despite possible objections from lame duck Hobo.

  • BearDown100393

Mitch continues to execute well after his turn over. That is important.

  • willbest

    nice move

  • beninnorcal

Beauty of a move by Mitch

  • underway

    That’s the Mitch we need.

  • BearDown100393

Daniel Brown is having a productive first half.

  • beninnorcal

Bears look like pissed about last week, rightly so

    • BearDown100393

They are executing plays like professionals this week.

  • willbest

well 17 points in 1 half

  • BearDown100393

That was a great drive by Mitch Trubisky. More importantly he proved to move forward after his mistake.

  • beninnorcal

Best start of a game at Soldier in quite some time

  • Papa Pawn

    Man nice flash draw

  • It’s all part of the plan

I like seeing frozen linebackers because Tr00b might keep it.

  • BearDown100393

Interesting exchange between Birdcage and Hobo.

    • madscout12

      What did you see?

      • BearDown100393

Hobo turned and walked away from Birdcage after the TD.

        • madscout12

Hey Hobo. I’m not losing my fing job. See how well we play D when we’re ahead.

          • BearDown100393

The story might be upstairs ordered the cuffs off today. And that would not spell well for Hobo.

    • EnderWiggin

Why the feck are you scoring so fast!?

  • beninnorcal

I hope the D can keep this thing rolling, they should be fresh

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

amazing how easy to run when there are not 8-9 men in the box.

    • ironic that Fox’s coming to Jesus moment dawned on him now that he’s essentially fired

      • beninnorcal

        Lame duck coach

  • beninnorcal

Nice offense being called by birdcage so far

  • Big Mike

    Oline doing a job !

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Wheres SC Dave at? passed out drunk already?

    • BearDown100393

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

I don’t want to wake up your mom.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

I thought she was a little cold.

          • BearDown100393

You are just proving to everyone else what I already know.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

thats the same thing I was saying to myself last night. “Keep it up sport. I know its disgusting but keep it up.”

          • BearDown100393

            Wow.

Read this after you sober up a bit.

            And then get some help.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

            I don’t accept failure.

          • BearDown100393

You have revealed quite a bit.

            Thank you.

  • beninnorcal

What a difference it makes on OL bringing in Kyle and squeezing out Hroniss

  • BerwynBomber

The Oline is playing outstanding today. Bisky’s had all day and there are holes for the RBs (And the fumble was not on the C.)

  • Add naked QB draw and PA screen to the list of shit they should’ve done weeks ago.

    Oline looking good today,.

  • It’s all part of the plan

If you don’t think it was planned to lose a bunch of games youre crazy. There is no reason this kind of O couldn’t have been run all season.

    • Fox will mumble something about rookie Qb whah whah whah

That’s sorta how I hear him now. Like the grown ups from the Peanuts cartoon.

  • willbest

its a shame irish picked this game to sleep through

    • Joecashflow

      1am to him.

  • Joecashflow

    Wow. Da Bears.

  • You can tell the crowd wants to get into it, but theyv’e been Foxed so many times, they’re expecting some monumental fuck up.

    • BearDown100393

That already happened and then the Bears offense scored again.

    • willbest

probably because there are 20,000 empty seats

  • BearDown100393

Jim Bob Cooter not exactly auditioning well for a head coach position at the moment.

  • willbest

    we never get that call

  • RenoBear

Gahhhh..,Where the hell has this team been?? Where the guck were they last week???

    • EnderWiggin

      Talking about the refs?

      • RenoBear

Hahahaha… nah just the beloved on offense…

        • madscout12

And D. They all sucked last week.

    • BearDown100393

The season would have a completely different vibe if this was last week.

  • underway

    Damn it

  • willbest

i was planning on mowing the grass after halftime, apparently i am going to have to do it in the dark instead

    • EnderWiggin

I hate “falling back”. 5:30 and its dark.

  • BearDown100393

    Acho lost-o

  • EnderWiggin

Thats what happens when you rush two. wtf?

  • underway

    Secondary WTF

  • BearDown100393

    Pretty porous.

  • beninnorcal

Cooper makes me miss Fuller on that drive

  • Papa Pawn

Bears in half speed scrimmage mode

  • willbest

cooper hasn’t looke d the part this season. i thought he might have been the diamond in the rough of FA

  • beninnorcal

That drive was a bit of a mojo killer

  • Big Mike

Cooper giving up 7 single handedly. 2 horrific plays

  • RenoBear

Ooofff … damn way to take the air out of the game defense

  • BerwynBomber

We are totally dominating the trenches on both sides of the ball but DET is hanging in there.

    • willbest

      Stafford and a trub fumble

      • BerwynBomber

        Yup …

  • willbest

there is a smudge on one of the cameras

  • EnderWiggin

shit, lets give them the ball with 4 minutes left.

    • BearDown100393

Stafford – Jones has heated up and this game is probably at least tied going into the half.

      • beninnorcal

Who are we kidding? Detroit will be up by 3 I’m, afraid

        • BearDown100393

          “probably”

    • Looks like our D is in prevent.

Probably because they’ve never had a 2 score lead.

      • beninnorcal

        Never understand that

  • BearDown100393

    Fangio has to solve Jones.

  • willbest

we aren’t going to have a lead at half…

  • underway

Front 4 needs to make a play. Or we are gonna continue to get shredded.

  • beninnorcal

Detroit also gets the ball to open the 2nd half

  • NO PRESSURE.

    At all.

    • BearDown100393

      Used to be.

  • underway

    Make a damn tackle…

  • I would pick on Amos if I were the Lions

  • underway

    Geezus….

  • underway

Fangio better fuckin rip some fuckin heads at half

    • BearDown100393

Fangio made the decision to let the pressure off Stafford.

      And this is what happens.

  • beninnorcal

Those 2 drives just killed us, Detroit showed our D who’s boss

  • Papa Pawn

    Pttttttthhhhh

  • Jones.

    Got picked.

    But looked confused.

    Cuz he’s an idiot.

  • BearDown100393

    Take the knee.

    Start at the 25.

  • underway

Offense play a decent half. Defense stinks it up other than the turnover. When the fuck will the complete team play a half.

  • BearDown100393

A better half but imperfect by a terrible Long penalty which ultimately swung momentum. Fangio has to reapply the pressure on Stafford. The Lions cannot run. But they can shred on the pass. This is winnable.

  • beninnorcal

    Bad Jay, 3 picks

  • That Guy

I’m looking forward to the defense figuring out how to cover guys.

I mean, the LB got picked pretty illegally on the TD, but it’s been par for the course today that the guys catching the balls for Detroit have been wide fucking open.

  • RenoBear

When in the fuck can this team put both sides together?? Why the fuck did fangio go full pussy on defense? Keep dialing up pressure! You give stafford 4 seconds every time he will tear you apart. Unfuckingbelievable…. oh wait, it’s quite believable

    #OutFoxed

    • BearDown100393

      This is what Fangio does.

  • BearDown100393

“Bears defense is being outcoached the last two weeks.”

It wasn’t at the beginning of this game.

  • willbest

    fuller has to catch that

    • BearDown100393

Cutting across his body and leaping in mid air.

    • madscout12

3 and out…starting at the 50…i’ll take it

  • willbest

Walking Dead commercial was a bit inappropriate

    • BearDown100393

  • underway

    Horrible throw

  • BearDown100393

    The Bears are deflating.

  • madscout12

    Come on, Mitch.

  • lol 3 and out from the 50

I don’t think Birdcage is going to keep being aggressive and creative.

He may have ran out of plays.

    Back to run-run-pass

    • BearDown100393

I do not believe Birdcage and Hobo are on the same page moving forward.

      • EnderWiggin

or the same team moving forward…

        • BearDown100393

It would not surprise me at all if a story broke about conflict over the offense involving Hobo, Pace and Birdcage.

    • madscout12

Run the others that were working. No reason to not keep the read.

    • Cubsnlinux

If only Trubisky knew how to throw a pass under pressure…

      • madscout12

Footwork. 100% fixable with the right coaching and work ethic.

  • Spielman made a good observation.

Trub gets happy feet, esp with blitzers

That’s why teams keep blitzing him on crucial downs.

This makes him innaccurate or inconsistent.

Book is still out on him.

    Blitz.
    Happy feet.
    Off-target.

    Punt.

Mitch has to clean that up.

  • Lions wisely attacking our 3rd and 4rth string ILBs.

    • BearDown100393

      Smart coaching.

  • madscout12

    Announcer, “that’s a good call”.

    What a shit call.

  • willbest

wow we are lucky we didn’t get flagged on that slide

    • BearDown100393

      There will be a fine.

      • madscout12

Was there for Clay last week?

        • BearDown100393

Oh probably not but we both know Goddell’s propensity to fine Bears.

  • BearDown100393

The Bears under Hobo are just not coached to play a full game.

  • BearDown100393

    Shaheen looking good this game.

  • hm.
Didn’t I say they should throw a screen with Bellamy blocking?

Looked a lil slopply, but Bellamy is generally a good blocker with those stone hands.

    Hope he’s ok.

    • beninnorcal

      He got knocked out cold

    • BearDown100393

      Concussion protocol.

Funny how that never seems to be addressed on the broadcast anymore….

  • beninnorcal

    Fuck

  • CanadaBear

Glad to see the bears flipped the field there. If not, they were sure to give up at least 3.

  • beninnorcal

There limps off the heart of our defense

  • BearDown100393

Hicks been banged up a bit throughout this one.

  • beninnorcal

This would be a great time for an Eddie Jackson pick six

    • BearDown100393

Went through the arm hoop on LeBlanc

    • beninnorcal

Guess that would be great anytime

  • underway

    “Team of almost”.

    • BearDown100393

  • BearDown100393

“There’s a lot to like about these young Bears offensive guys.”

    Shaheen delivering it today.

  • beninnorcal

Coen is thinking way too much when he has the ball

  • EnderWiggin

    McPhee held big time.

  • BearDown100393

Harbaugh needs that win against OSU.

    • EnderWiggin

Is he more likely to become a Bear if he wins or loses? Thats the factor.

      • BearDown100393

        I have no idea.

Either way, oddly the drum bangs louder.

  • underway

    Howard please. Thanks..

    • BearDown100393

Today is a tale of 2 different offenses.

The first half one was much better.

  • willbest

long is just sucking it up

    • BearDown100393

In pain and not thinking and costing the Bears yards.

  • EnderWiggin

Dear Birdcage, Please stop dialing up plays for Brown. Thanks, End

  • BearDown100393

Great effort by Cohen for the extra yards. Badly needed.

  • willbest

    fuck it, run it again

  • underway

  • Papa Pawn

    Awful RPO play

  • beninnorcal

Hicks is a mutant, I hope he’s ok

  • BearDown100393

Jordan Howard is a stud and not being dialed up. Either hurt or forgotten man.

  • underway

Now the fuckin lions can run the ball. Geezus

  • Looks like that D just threw in the towel

  • BearDown100393

The Bears are not coached to win. They are coached to not be blown out. And that is a terrible lesson taught to young players in the NFL. That is the wrong message and the wrong culture. It must change immediately.

  • Papa Pawn

1 knee McPhee has gotta read that

  • CanadaBear

Gotta keep this at 3 or this could go bad in a hurry.

    • BearDown100393

Expensive man power being lost today.

  • EnderWiggin

Caldwell is playing very conservative, I wonder if Stafford is hurting more than we think.

    • He doesn’t think the Bears O can score or that Fox can outcoach him in the 2nd half.

      It’s a good bet.

  • Didn’t look good.

Looked like Fuller’s helmet went right at Floyd’s knee.

  • beninnorcal

Looks like Floyd’s season just ended

    • BearDown100393

      Took out the knee hard.

  • BearDown100393

Not one teammate there for him.

    SMH.

  • willbest

    costly game

  • Bender McLugh

At least Floyd will be healthy for next season. Too soon?

    • BearDown100393

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

  • willbest

way to give up 3 points

    • BearDown100393

Kept it 1 score game. Better than giving up 7.

  • CanadaBear

The way guys are dropping like flies, Jeff will be running draft pieces 3 or 4 days/week.

    • BearDown100393

Have to wonder how much more Kyle Long’s body can sustain these injuries and if it is really worth playing him after today.

      • CanadaBear

I thought that while they were shitting the bed against the Fudgies!

        • BearDown100393

IMO his 2 dumb penalties are the result of his pain.

  • BearDown100393

“Leonard Floyd. Get healthy. See ya in 2018.”

That is more than any of his teammates offered him while he sat in the cart on the field.

  • 2-21 when trailing at Halftime under Fox.

    Awesome.

    • EnderWiggin

The dude can break some records, eh?

    • BearDown100393

It is Pace’s decision to keeping him on the sideline.

      • EnderWiggin

It may be his decision after the season, but Bears have a loooooong ass history of letting their coaches crash and burn for an entire season.

        • BearDown100393

          That history needs to change.

          • EnderWiggin

Not while Mama Bear is around.

  • EnderWiggin

Wow, I’m surprised they didn’t reverse our TD!

  • beninnorcal

    C’mon D!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • They’re gonna have to gut it out with out Floyd and maybe Fuller.

Hicks looks like he’s running on fumes.

They’re gonna have to step up.

      • BearDown100393

        Fuller’s hand is sliced.

  • Fox didn’t challenge the Bears TD!

    • BearDown100393

Old dawg learned a new trick.

  • BearDown100393

“By the way, Brett Hundley was awful against Detroit and horrid today. In between he looked like Montana. Who gets that blame?”

The guy in charge of hiring the coaching personnel.

    • beninnorcal

      Acorsi?

      • BearDown100393

        The current guy.

        • beninnorcal

I was just being a dick

          • BearDown100393

I was actually hoping to find out who the real guy in charge might be!

  • willbest

so the offense got 24pts and did its job

    • BearDown100393

Stalled in the 2nd half. Need more than that in today’s game. No idea why Howard is not getting more carries. Shaheen stood out in the 1st half and appears shut down for some reason now. Weird stuff.

  • underway

    Almost…

  • willbest

    to

  • willbest

why is he on our roster….

    • BearDown100393

Almost got an interception today. He’s on the roster because of lack of depth.

    • EnderWiggin

He’s the best #5 corner in the league.

      • willbest

then what is he doing on thier #2 WR

  • underway

    Welp

  • It’s all part of the plan

Lol how many picks can Fuller drop in one game?

    • RenoBear

It’s fucking ridiculous . Catch the fucking ball

    • BearDown100393

Not excusing the past but his hand right now is sliced.

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

        did you just accept failure…..

  • RenoBear

    aboit to get
    #OutFoxed

  • underway

Clock management drill time. Failed the first quiz.

  • BearDown100393

When you play not to lose that is exactly what usually happens.

These players deserve to find out for themselves their potential to win.

  • Nice way to burn 20 seconds, Fox.

    • BearDown100393

      Hobo checked out in 2016.

  • beninnorcal

Well, boys, you can’t say this one wasn’t entertaining, but..

  • CanadaBear

    Prater’s a good kicker. YIKES!

  • EnderWiggin

Well, you know, we stayed in there late, gave ourselves a chance, we’re close. That’s how it goes somedays, sometimes it goes one way, and you know, sometimes it goes the other. And thats everything, life too. We’ll get to work this week and be ready for next. ~Fox

  • beninnorcal

Acho held on that last one

  • underway

  • beninnorcal

We’re probably about to get Barf’d going the other way

    • CanadaBear

  • beninnorcal

Regardless of the kick, I’m giving Mitch some serious credit here, handled business

    • BearDown100393

He did more with nothing from his OC.

  • Papa Pawn

  • Sactowns#1

Every time I hear someone defend Pace I will point to Barth and sacking Gould. Fuck You Pace!!

    • BearDown100393

      This board routinely defends Pace.

And shouts down others who disagree.

  • wreckinball

    Great move dumping Robbie NOT
If you have a good kicker NEVER get rid of them . They will all go through a little slump
    Ride it out

  • underway

If we are questionable at kicker, go get a league minimum kid from the local grocery store. Fuck this shit.

    • Irish Sweetness

Or just learn to go for it!

  • Perfect ending.

That’s on Pace for being complacent with a cuck kicker.

    • It’s all part of the plan

We got Barthed with healthy side dish of Koo

  • BearDown100393

“Mitch Trubisky is the real deal.”

    He played better today.

    But remains a “maybe”.

    • Dis Guy Trublinsky

Oh he’s a “maybe” now your majesty?

That’s quite a bit of movement in a few hours. We’ll all take note.

      • BearDown100393

He had to play better today.

  • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

    New thread.

  • It’s all part of the plan

I think we can all agree that the ending we just witnessed was basically the only ending that could have happened.

  • Jigar Patel

It has been frustrating last 10 years with this team…coach after coach…QB after QB….How can we not get this right? I have lost interest in watching the mediocrity on the field. There is no passion from John Fox. FIREFOX!! I m not talking about the firewall…LOL….Defense looks good this year. Mitchell needs recievers.
