hmmm playing actual games and getting experience. Maybe? naw that can’t be it.

    • He’s really surprised me. Was very inconsistent in college (I saw pretty much every game he played, including several live). You saw the big arm, but he was way slow and indecisive in the pocket, and his accuracy was not great.

I was shocked when he got drafted. I was shocked he showed enough to stick. I was shocked he earned the starting job last year (and less shocked when he sucked for most of it). I’ve been shocked by how solid he’s looked this year.

It really makes me hate the coaching staff at NU. They can’t develop a decent OL or offensive scheme. He rarely looked like an NFL QB in college, much less a starter.

OFFICIAL: GLENNON WILL START SUNDAY VS PITTSBURGH
OFFICIAL: WAFFLE WILL BET CHILD’S KIDNEY ON PITTSBURGH

    • the book is out on how to shut down this Bears’ O. Load the box to shut down the run, force Glennon to beat you. He can’t.

Since ATL made that adjustment at halftime, the Bears have run the ball 24 times for 46 yards. They haven’t scored a meaningful point in 6 quarters (aka when the defense was still playing to win and not just sitting back in safe zone to run out the clock).

      • “the book is out on how to shut down this Bears’ O. Load the box to shut down the run, force Glennon to beat you. He can’t.”

That was the book since Cam went down in the PS.

Cohen caught ATL by surprise, but that’s about it. Since he’s been accounted for, the Bears O is predictable, stale and ineffective, esp with a makeshift Oline

        • the run game worked great in that 1st half (11 carries, 99 yards), and it wasn’t just Cohen. Then ATL realized they should just load the box, man up, and force Glennon to make a play.

Bellamy failed. Howard failed. Glennon failed. Game over.

        • Those last 2 drives, ATL sat in safe zone because they were protecting a 4th quarter lead. Until that point, the Bears had been completely shut down for the entire 2nd half.

TB followed the same blueprint and shut CHI down until garbage time yet again.

“Any hope of Trubisky saving this season now gone. 2017 is lost because
the head coach & GM got the most important position in sports wrong.” – Jeff

I must not understand what it means to save a season, because there is zero chance the Bears were making the playoffs before this announcement.

Even if Trubs were all that and somehow some way destined for Canton, almost all of them looked like rookies, and the ones that didn’t were throwing to exceptionally talented WRs, not the first person over 6’2″ that happens to be walking by Halas Hall tomorrow morning.

    • “because there is zero chance the Bears were making the playoffs before this announcement”

      That’s your premise (and mine).

Others, like Data, Jeff and Andy? believed the 17 Bears WERE talented enough, coached well enough, to win the SB if only Trub started.

My argument all along has been that we were too thin to make a run. That unless we had a miraculous stroke of non-inj luck, this team would be depleted by mid-season

Well, it seems like it’s already depleted and it’s only week #3.

And y’all know what I think about “coached well enough” One Dump Fox…

      • I said they would be a fringe WC contender if Trubisky played well in 2017, SB window 18-20 (assuming Trubisky pans out).

I still believe the latter part of that, though the SB window shrinks to 19-20 if Trubisky doesn’t play at least half the season this year, IMO.

        • I quoted you directly, but it seems to be gone from the Play the Kid thread now

“”Brace yourself: this one involves talk of a Super Bowl. For the first time in a while, I think that’s a realistic discussion to begin having about the Bears.”

In the article you implied that the SB run starts THIS season, even if historically improbable.

Nevertheless, the implication is that the SB Window, meaning a SB capable winning team, starts with Trub in 17 if he starts the season.

The counter argument which I laid in that thread too is that argument assumes the best of the Bears

          Augs 29th

          http://dabearsblog.com/2017/data-entry-playthekid

“It is HOPEFUL to assume that we sucked last year because of INJ and not because of Fox
It is HOPEFUL to assume the Bears will somehow remain healthy and as such
competitive (we can ALL admit we’re thin due to rebuilding, right?)
It is HOPEFUL to assume that the sophomores will progress (Amos vision) and the FAs will pan out.

You know what can give us some hard ‘data’ on those assumptions. ACTUAL FOOTBALL GAMES.

That’s when we can find out if all those hopeful assumptions are reality.

          Until them, we’re a 3 win team.

And if those hopeful assumptions materialize (and if Glennon sucks), then slip in Trub.”

          ————-

Now originally I was arguing for the first 4 games for Glennon, but I wouldn’t mind him now ; although the Oline/Howard is beat up, and no WRs to throw to still gives me massive pause, but that was all part of the argument of the Bears sucking more than ppl believed in the PS.

          • SC Dave

Buck the fuck up, Butch! It’s only two games so far.

          • My argument was always based on Glennon not sucking. He’s been ok in one game, then completely melted down the next.

This is why I got off the Cargo train. Can’t win with a schizo QB. As Samurai said, can’t do it.

Still, we gave Cutler like 6 yrs of it, so maybe 1-2 more no-win games may not be TOO much.

My bigger concern really is the hobbling Oline/Howard, and scrub WRs.

That’s not exactly the Roth-Wilson-Dak template.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

which game was he ok in? I’ve watched him play 2 games and he sucked pretty much the whole time.

          • He was OK in the first game. He DID throw TWO game winning TDs.

Howard dropped one (and yes, I’ll take my chances of him vs a CB at the 1)
Droppamy was held on his route in another but the pass was there.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

he was ok in the 4th quarter of that game. The rest of the game he sucked.

          • SC Dave

When the game was on the line, he was okay. Three guys had a chance to win the game – Bellamy (drop), Howard (drop tho throw was less than ideal), Glennon (didn’t find the “right” guy on 4th down).

          • Last time I checked, the 4rth qtr where game winning drives are put together usually make or break a QB and team.

          • SC Dave

They so hate Glennon that this truism is revoked in their minds.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

I agree with that, but if he did anything of note in the first 3 quarters we probably would not have been in that situation. Overall he was not good.

          • SC Dave

True enough. The real question, which Jeff, AD, JW, et all seem so convinced of “yes”, is whether Trubisky can do anything with the junior varsity we call our wide receivers.

          • Irish Sweetness

Who were the guys catching his passes in pre-season? Exactly the same guys catching them now. Our receivers are not the problem. Gentry is the only rook.

          • willbest

Those receivers weren’t going up against Joe Haden or other legitimate DBs in the preseason.

          • CanadaBear

Not to mention most people didn’t think this would be a good year for the Beloved. You and I were both on the let the coaches decide about QB until the meltdown. Fuck me, that was some bad football. It didn’t help when the other 45 decided to play like shit off and on for the first half.

          • I’m not a full-blown GP conspiracist, but I’ve seen almost this exact scenario just last season with Fisher and Goff.

Fisher was trying to stash Goff on the bench for the entire yr.

But the outcry got so loud, that the GM had to step in for Goff to start.

What Fisher was trying to do was stash him so he could buy himself another year.

Fisher and Fox are pals. I see Fox trying to do the same with Trub, so my trust in his motives is diminished somewhat.

          • CanadaBear

I think Glennon gets the Fudgies game because it’s a short week. After that, either Foxy plays the kid or gets the keys to the street. The only way he can start Glennon in week 5 is if Glennon plays way better or if Trub gets dinged up in practice or some shit.

          • Yeah, I also think this has been the most likely plan all along, but naturally POX aren’t gonna let us know about it.

The flipside to starting Trub is that if he wins with him, he can then say, “See. Now that I have a QB, I can win” which may or may not save his job.

But as Bear fans we almost assume the worst either way.

If Fox starts him it’s to save his job. If he sits him it’s because he’s a lackey taking orders from Pace.

Losing does crazy shit to fans.

          • CanadaBear

You, MB, me and a few others have been on the Weekend @ Bernie’s bandwagon since last year. At this point I question his judgement about everything. I’m guessing Pace does, too. Huge difference between having a plan and a conspiracy theory. Not talking about you.

          • My argument was sb window starting in 2018. It’s directly stated in the article. Teams don’t go from 3 wins (following 6 following 5) to super bowl.

          • And I will also quote myself from that article: “The Bears should be looking at that collection of young talent and thinking they have a strong title window from 2018-20.”

My point was that window doesn’t open until Trubisky gets some experience, so that needs to happen as soon as possible. If he plays most of this year, I absolutely believe they can be title contenders in 2018 should all pan out (Trubisky looks good, other key young guys pan out, they make the right moves this offseason to address WR concerns).

Even in that optimistic scenario, I didn’t envision the title window starting until 2018.

      • willbest

Well it is a stupid premise when you consider how injured we were even before the Tampa game. Nevermind after it.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

How is it speculation? he turned down the deal that was offered and went elsewhere for less money on a one year deal.

          • SC Dave

You don’t know what he was thinking, or being told, which makes it speculation. A good season this year and he could make MUCH more money down the road.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

I do know that it was reported that one offer was around $14 mill a year. Also a good season with us without a PED suspension might have gotten him more. But he is gone. quit complaining about players that could have been.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Sorry Dave, I know you are sentimental about players, whereas I am not. Yes it would be nice if he was on the team, but he is not here so I moved on.

          • willbest

$12 million/yr from more than one team was the rumor. I don’t think anybody offered him 14 million.

          • SC Dave

Yeah, the PEDs thing was not helpful to his career.

      • Irish Sweetness

He was. We don’t need Alshon, especially not with Gummo chucking the rock.

Alshon has caught HALF of his targets this season. He’s caught 10 passes for an average of 13 yards and 1 TD.

Deonte is not a bad receiver, he’s improved – he looks good. Josh has his moments, but I’ll take these receivers over what we’ve had for the last 30 years. They’re good enough for Mitch.

        • willbest

None of the receivers we will field this week would break #4 on any other NFL teams roster.

    • BearDown100393

Fox chose to go full Cleveland yesterday. Halas Hall chose to do nothing about it. This was over before it even started.

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

I would consider it a successful season if Trubs started and showed progress throughout the season, with no regards to record. Let him make the mistakes rookies make, and learn the speed of the game. Yes winning is great, but the experience Trubs gets would in my mind would outweigh losses.

      • SC Dave

It’s a two-edged sword in my mind. I would not want to see him get used to LOSING.

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

I don’t understand the concept of someone getting used to losing.

          P. Manning was 3-13
          E. Manning was 1-6
          A. Rodgers was 6-10
          T Aikman was 0-11

seems to me those guys weren’t irreparably damaged by losing.

      • Irish Sweetness

Would you get him killed behind the OL? Another injury or two and that’s what would happen. Then you might NEED to draft Darnold.

        • willbest

What makes you think the O-line is going to improve.

Long might be done for good. Josh Sitton’s salary next year escalates to $8 million, is he worth it if he spends most of this year nursing an injury? At the moment we are blessed with tackles that have stayed healthy (knock on wood), but that could change. Whitehair played center, Left Guard, and Right Guard yesterday. That isn’t good for him finding a rhythm.

    • Suns Out, Buns out, Ciggy In

he needs reps now so that 2018 is not his rookie season. Reps are being wasted on a known quantity and not used on the guy that could gain valuable experience and throw the same 5.3yd pussy throws that Mike throws/is forced to throw right now.

      • SC Dave

Prescott did not need reps before his rookie season to be effective. Are you saying Dak is better than Mitch?

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Dak was also throwing the same 5.3 yard pussy throws to begin the season. The Cowboys slowly introduced more of the playbook as the season progressed.

        • Johnnywad

Quite possibly. Didn’t Prescott play a lot more football in college than Mitch? And while talented, only fall in the draft due to a DUI?

    • Irish Sweetness

I love how Jeff writes off the season after week 2. We could go 14-2. We could lose the next 6 games and still make the playoffs.

      • willbest

I would bet my kids college funds we don’t go 14-2.

  • willbest

“The Bears offensive line is good. When the Bears play a QB with working legs the fans will understand that.”

The Bears offensive line is Leno-Whitehair-Grasu-some guy-Massie.

From left to right that is

decent, good but out of position, bad, yikes, below average

    • to be fair, that’s the OL with 3 guys who would be playing gone from it. Nobody’s OL looks great in that situation.

(and Glennon still had plenty of time to throw in obvious passing situations the whole 4th quarter yesterday).

      • That Oline got NO push in the run game.
Jordan Howard got 7 yds on 9 carries while Cohen had to do ninja flips just to not get knocked out 5 yds behind the LOS

        • it’s hard to get push in the run game when there are 8-9 guys in the box and everybody knows you’re gonna run.

          • But that’s the thing.

Do you then insert Trub into that scenario?

In your PlayTheKid piece you alluded to the Steelers with Roth, SEA with Wilson, does this team still seem like those other teams to you?

            Just curious.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

some of you are assuming that Glennon is being forced to throw short routes and check downs. I assume he is too scared to throw anything else. He looks for his checkdown before routes are even able to develop. This just allows teams to stack the box and jump routes.

          • You think Trub will be completing Go-routes to Thompson?

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

no but he might be willing to attempt them. Glennon won’t/can’t throw a 10 yard out to the sideline. anything down field will loosen up a D.

          • Irish Sweetness

Yes, absolutely. Or Wheaton, or Wright. Finally we have deep targets.

          • willbest

Wheaton hasn’t played with Trubisky ever, and quite frankly if he was of much value the Steelers would have kept him. Wright has a couple drops on his resume this year already.

I don’t know what your obsession is with 3rd and 4th tier WRs and thinking you can just plug them in wherever. Meanwhile you constantly fret over having two top 10 RBs on the roster. A position which has consistently shown that next man up generally works reasonably well.

          • Stout D, good OL, good running backs. Yep, still checks all three boxes.

Trubisky’s mobility and ability to move through progressions quickly and make accurate throws would at least force them to change their approach. With these WRs it’s not going to be a great passing attack, but it would be better and something defenses have to respect.

Mobility alone would make defenses change their approach. Need to zone or spy, and can’t crash the RB off of the play fake when the QB has mobility.

          • willbest

Basically anything short of Rodgers doesn’t bode well for long term success if you don’t have a running game or defense. And he has always had at least 1 solid WR whether it was Jennings or Nelson. We can’t even offer Trubisky that.

          • Irish Sweetness

Exactly, SEA can’t do anything with their line either.

        • SC Dave

          This

      • willbest

How much of that was Tampa playing not to lose, aka get hurt?

      • willbest

And you are right, no o-line looks good without 3 of its starters. But how many starters are we going to be playing with this week? And when Long returns will he be in football condition?

        • the absurd rash of injuries for the 3rd year in a row is highly concerning. You can’t just call it luck at that point.

3 of top 4 interior OL are out.
3 of top 4 WRs are out
if Howard can’t go, 3 of top 4 RBs are out
#1 CB has yet to play

          • 2 of the top 3 ILBs are out
            #1RE was out first game
#2NT I think is out too

          • BearDown100393

Howard played with a banged shoulder and Bird Cage was dialing up dink and dunk with his #. Stupid is as stupid does.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

too bad #1 QB is not on that list.

          • SC Dave

I have been questioning S&C for at least 1.5 seasons now. It’s fucking ridiculous.

        • BearDown100393

You really believe Long is returning ?

      • SC Dave

It seems obvious that the reason for that is the Bucs were not too worried about rushing the passer, instead packing the deep defense and forcing the Bears to go underneath.

  • SC Dave

The Bears offensive line SUCKED yesterday, Jeff

  • Suns Out, Buns out, Ciggy In

I don’t want to fan the flames any further but let’s be honest here, the Bears O line is not strong right now but Glennon was not pummeled yesterday. It’s not like Trubliniskey gets put in the game and is then forced to run the 7 step drop. He can run the same weak shit we already run, just with the threat of running for 50yards when the whole defense crashes down on the run.

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

just having a somewhat mobile QB with some idea of pocket presence would help.

      • SC Dave

Bears QBs and pocket presence are not historically correlated.

    • The biggest difference might be Trub NOT staring down his receivers.

That in itself might save a few INTs.

That being said, throwing Trub into 8 man boxes (that aren’t just there for the run, but to blitz-blast the QB) whilst throwing to Wright isn’t ideal either.

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

with the current roster, there will never be an ideal situation.

        • SC Dave

          Sadly, this is too true.

        • There are degrees though.

Cam may not have been my #1 choice at WR, but at least he was enough to keep the Ds honest. No such threat exists anymore.

Compton was not my first choice over Long or Kush, but at leas he seemed OK. Now, a 4rth string UFDA?

It won’t really matter now, honestly.

The Bears were likely losing the first 4 games regardless of the rose-tinted glasses some had in PS.

The bigger question now is if inserting Trub into this Fox coached, Wright led/Howard hobbled O is good for him long term?

That’s the only question to debate, and one with no real answer only speculation.

          • BuddhaJoe

Bellamy has stone hands but he can at least stretch the field. Not saying much I guess but it’d be worth a shot if you had a QB that could throw more than 15 yards (which might be generous to Glennon).

          • Irish Sweetness

Did Bellamy have any drops on Sunday? I only saw the first half, but he looked okay in the first half.

          • willbest

He had 1 drop. Hit him right in the numbers. It didn’t matter though, the game was lost.

I know he catches crap, but he doesn’t seem any worse than Black Uni did in the drops department.

          • Irish Sweetness

Do we not like Deonte? He’s faster than Cam that’s for sure.

          • He’s also much smaller.
I like him. In the slot.
You don’t ask Edlemen to blow the top off Ds.

      • Suns Out, Buns out, Ciggy In

just having him out there will widen that box. You can’t pack it in if the moment your QB gets outside he’s gone. DC’s will actually have to stop pinning the ears back.

Spread the formation, make the DE’s and OLB’s keep their heads on a swivel.

        • SC Dave

Trubisky is not Michael fucking Vick. He will not be “gone” if he gets outside.

          • Suns Out, Buns out, Ciggy In

Dave, he looks like he’s on turbo boosters compared to Glennon. DC’s have a field day when they know their guys simply have to get to a spot on the field and they have a sack.

          • SC Dave

I would never argue that Trubs is not hugely more mobile that Glennon. Just not “gone”. He’s not Vick, nor Newton.

Hell, is he faster than Cutler?

          • BearDown100393

There is fast. Then there is Cutty fast.

          • He sure retired fast.

          • CanadaBear

I think he’s faster and seems to have pretty good pocket presence. Gotta love that! I hope he has enough sense to slide almost all the time.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

Glennon in the pocket reminds me of watching little kids play baseball, when the coach puts them in position and they they stand there and watch as a ball rolls by 3ft away. You ask them why they didn’t get the ball and they say because the coach told me to play here. Glennon has his spot in the pocket and doesn’t want to move.

          • BuddhaJoe

The only thing that impressed me yesterday about Glennon was the few plays where he stood in a collapsing pocket and delivered a strike a split-second before getting shellacked. Got a couple first downs that way if I remember correctly.

          • Irish Sweetness

            Cutty, without the lead.

          • willbest

And he can out run the people on the practice squad, but how about the #1s?

        • Ds will put 8 in the box and trust their CBs to shut down our scrubs.

If Trub begins actually keeping read options, Ds will spy him with some Kam Chancellor bad ass and blast him every time he puts that ball down.

But hey, if we’re ok with Trub taking Cam style hits, screw it.

          • Irish Sweetness

Wheaton will win a foot race. Deonte and Wright ditto.

      • Irish Sweetness

You can’t show Mitchell 8 man boxes. We have too much speed down town for that.

    • BuddhaJoe

And the threat of a long ball. I think the Destroyah had a better long ball than the Giraffe, and that’s depressing.

    • Scharfinator

I kinda wish JC had pushed Martz like he’d pushed JWebb

  • BearDown100393

Jeff should set up a GoFund account for fans to buyout the Giraffe and start Trubisky.

  • FF…

Ender only needs 23 points from Prater to beat Sac

Shady needs about 50 from Eli. Yikes. The reigning champ gonna start off 0-2 and a LIMP 0-2 while Waffle starts 2-0?

    This world has gone mad!

    • EnderWiggin

I think the Jones TD just locked Sac into the win. Sheesh.

      • haha. Prater will have to make about ten 50yd FGs for you to win. Believe, Ender, believe!

Man. You were actually the 2nd highest scorer this week. Rough loss esp after being Koo-colded (copyright Waffle)

NB and Artoo getting much needed wins, but all you 0-2 teams are in a deep hole.

    • madscout12

Need Tate to score under 16, and he’s at 1 now. Fucking run the ball, both teams!

    • madscout12

      That 50+ will help

      • Ender only needs 9 more of those!

But Det playing w lead = more runs (maybe)

        • madscout12

          In my league, 50+ are worth 5 points a pop…so 4.

          • Yeah, in ours too, just fucking with Ender.
I actually wanted to give a bonus for 60 yarders, like award it 7 points cuz they’re so rare, but no option for that available on ESPN.

  • CanadaBear

Did anyone notice that Fat Eddy was a healthy scratch yesterday? I’m wrong way more often than I’m right about young players but I always thought (and posted) he was highly overrated and under motivated.

  • MacAdoo might look like a hardcore pedo, but he’s creative.

We should use that. TE in the backfield running a streak over the top.

  • Looks like ODB more of a decoy this game, though he looked ok in that catch.

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

looks like Eli and Marshall have 3 years of chemistry already.

      • Johnnywad

Is it his one catch for ten yards through 6 quarters that has you thinking that?

  • boo-birds out in NY.

This is why I think they were one of the dark horse teams in the Trub @ #2 draft talks.

That INT was behind his WR. Eli looks off and hesitant.

Sucky Olines will do that to a QB

    • CanadaBear

People that bitch about moving up to get MT are missing the point. If he’s the real deal, we’re dancing in the streets. If not, Pace will be gone soon enough. I think they give him his own choice at HC but the clock starts at that moment.

      • BearDown100393

        “If”

      • And I really don’t get the point if a fan hates ownership AND Pace.

If you believe that the McCaskeys are baffoons, then why bitch about Pace?

They’ll simply hire another clown to GM if that’s what you believe, so why not give Pace a shot to deconstruct the Angelo/Emery infrastructure and see how it goes?

I don’t love all of Pace’s moves (specially his cheap ass MO in FA), but he’s already demonstrated more draft day balls than the typical McCaskey lackey.

Whether his bold moves are foolish will become apparent soon enough.

  • BearDown100393

Eli might want to start investing in a Papa John’s franchise.

Lions pass rush destroying the Giants. Be afraid Giraffe. Be afraid.

    • Giraffe’s not surviving the 4 game gauntlet.

      • Johnnywad

I agree. I’m not sure he gets through game 3. A slow lanky dude, with no pocket awareness, behind a banged up offensive line with no real wide receivers sounds like a recipe for a broken clavicle.

  • BerwynBomber

Pie Face has looked outstanding the last couple of years. Solid top-ten stuff. And though a guy like Cousins has better efficiency numbers, I’d take Stafford over him in a heartbeat.

Cutting up ARI’s and NYG’s secondaries in back2back weeks is no small thing.

    • BearDown100393

      Lions just look hungry.

      • BerwynBomber

Yeah, will be interesting to see if they can maintain. Even though limped to the stetch last year they still made the post-season.

Gotta hand it to Caldwell too. At worst he has been competent. And obviously the epitome of an adult in comparison to Gym Shorts.

        • BearDown100393

          Lions also appear well coached

  • AlbertInTucson

I read last week that the lookouts on the Titanic were not equipped with binoculars because the binocs were locked up and the key for wherever they were stored was with the originally assigned first officer who had been replaced before the ill-fated voyage.

Maybe Gase walked off with they key for the Bears binoculars cabinet…?

    • BearDown100393

But left the violinists on deck

  • wow. What a horrible play call.

  • Looks like Lesbo doing his best Vadger’s freeplay impression.

3 WR seems the base set for the Lions. That’s why they let FB Burton go.

But playing with a lead, being able to run it and milk the clock might be useful.

  • BearDown100393

    Marshall, Marshall, Marshall

    • If Bmarsh doesn’t catch it early and often, he gets stone hands.

    • BerwynBomber

      That was a horrendous drop.

      And a true game-changer.

  • BerwynBomber

    Fuck of a punt return.

  • AlbertInTucson

Maybe it’s been posted but, when was the last time the Bears rushed for as few as 20 yards in a game?

  • BearDown100393

    Eli having NO FUN

  • madscout12

    Cornwash going high on Eli.

  • If NYG let Bmarsh go, does Pace sign him?
Should be cheap, and instantly our best WR

    • willbest

Flash back to the year I owned Randy Moss in FF and he died on 3 separate teams.

  • BerwynBomber

For all his flaws, Eli is one, tough cookie. His ironman streak has been earned. That was vicious.

    • Johnnywad

And our own Cornelius Washington making the play. Sigh

  • CornWash destroyed EIli.

Wow. I don’t know how his shoulder isn’t separated.

    • willbest

Is it too soon to add him to the list of Bears that somehow find meaning elsewhere?

  • madscout12

Looks like Doublechin pedo is doing his best Birdcage.

  • I like the NYG fan wearing shades.
What is it, like 11PM in NY?

  • BearDown100393

ODB is a piece of garbage for that hit.

  • BerwynBomber

    “Jerry Seaman long-time outstanding referee”?

Sorry, Sean. Seaman is almost always the worst in the league. Hopefully his son is Rocky to Jerry’s Bill Wertz.

    • AlbertInTucson

Not the worst. He always had Hochuli to hold him up.

      • BerwynBomber

We’ll agree to disagree on this one. Hochuli is a peacock but no one makes more egregiously bad calls than Jerry Seaman and his crew. My take at least.

Btw, I had no idea his son had donned the stripes. Mildly alarming.

        • AlbertInTucson

          Hochuli is a dumpster fire.

          Seeman.

          Hochuli.

You couldn’t live long on the difference.

  • AlbertInTucson

Zebras continue to be unable to accurately spot the football.

    • BerwynBomber

      DET ball.

  • haha. MNF ratings spot

  • Get rid of ur FB, can’t drain the clock.

NO FB giveth. FB taketh away.

  • I don’t know what it is with Eli when the game’s on the line, but he just hit about 4 WRs right in the hands, and they dropped em.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Good night, G-Men.

    • They’ve been talking all night about the Gmen.

maybe give a little love to the Lions.

They’ve looked good so far. Better than the Puke.

      • AlbertInTucson

Scoot over, Bears, here come the 0-2 Giants.

  • BerwynBomber

Credit DET. Rodgers always seems to fuck them at the end, but thus far they look like the best NFLN team. The Cheese aren’t nearly as well-rounded and MIN is screwed w/out Bradford.

Gotta be impressed by their new GM. Especially when you consider they lost two HoF talents the last few years in Megatron and Suh.

    • Yup. They seemed to have done a culture change from the Scwartz/Suh era.

They’re a diff team with Abdulla, IMO. But he always seems to get hurt.

  • BerwynBomber

So Trisky in W6 vs. the Vikings? That is the only way Fox’s Giraffe stubbornness will be partly excusable. Let Glennon shit the bed the first four games and then give the rookie two weeks to prepare for MIN (w/ the bye week).
But I would still rather see Sanchize the next two weeks, if nothing else.

    • CanadaBear

After the Fudgies on Thursday night the next game is the BiQueens on Monday night. That’s a 10-day window. That’s why I picked week 5.

      • BerwynBomber

Ah ok. My bad. I was thinking that was our bye. But yes the Thurs to Monday window explains it.

    • Corporal Clott

That will never happen and we all know that undesirable QB’s never get hurt. Just sayin…

  • Suns Out, Buns out, Ciggy In

haha, Fres, you just took it deep from TuPic Poseur!!! All eyez on me! haha, 2-0 headed for Fantasy glory!

  • willbest

“Pats injuries: Edelman, Hightower, Gronk…etc. This comment is nonsense.” – Jeff

Pats are 1-1, having lost in embarrassing fashion to the Chiefs, and beating a Saints team that hasn’t fielded a defense since 2009

    • willbest

Oh and pick a team not coached by a Sith Lord if you are trying to prove that injuries don’t matter.

    • BerwynBomber

Pats and Brady, of course, will be fine, but yeah I wouldn’t put a ton into yesterday’s performance. As you said, it’s been Mel Tucker-quality stuff in the Big Easy for awhile.
