Oh my. I can see why Mikey gets so upset when he reads and listens to this website. Mr. Hughes you need to have more faith in my son. You are so negative. What does your mother think about the language you are using on your tape recordings? I would bet she is very disappointed in you. My Mikey is going to prove you wrong. He is going to play great as long as the receivers catch his passes. Mr. Fox and that young Mr. Pace have confidence in Mikey’s abilities. So why do you have to rant like this?

I do not understand the utter contempt and hatred you have for my son. You need to find love and happiness. Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you have decided to look beyond the imperfections. You need to stop and appreciate what you have today with my Mikey. Look at what you have with wider eyes, maybe with more compassion, more appreciation, and more gratitude for Mikey. Mr. Hughes, you should think about that and look for the good instead of focusing on the bad.

  • SC Dave

Oh guys, don’t waste a second listening to this. You’ve heard every word of it before, except for absurdities like “.[you know who].. did everything in his power to lose the game.”

Such as forcing Marcus Wheaton (2), Zach Miller, and Kendall Wright to drop passes. And forcing Marcus Cooper to throw away four points figuring out his end zone dance step before he got there. Stuff like that clearly attributable to Mike Glennon.

And by the way, Jeff, I suppose if Trubisky started, your prediction would change to, let’s say
    Chicago 75, GB 3?

Hey Butch, the possible redemption you might have hoped for was also missing. No bongos.

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

To be fair, Miller’s drop was on 3rd down and was still well short of the 1st down marker. Also how did Wright drop a pass in a game in which he did not have a pass thrown to him, that takes skill.

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

oh and wasn’t one of Wheaton’s drops the long pass where he had the DB grabbing his arm, granted it hit his hands, but if I remember correctly that could have been a DPI call.

        • SC Dave

Ah, I see. The lack of the flag was also part of Glennon doing his best to lose the game. Thanks for clearing that up.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

not saying that at all. just pointing out the circumstances. Drops are still an issue. But a drop because of a missed flag does not hold the same weight as a drop from a wide open WR for a 1st down.

    • DaBearsBlog

I’d respond to this but 1/2 of it is wrong and who has time. If you want Glennon Bears, congrats! You won! You’ve got the worst starting QB in the league and franchise excusing every mistake and missed opportunity. You accept being a loser. I don’t.

And yea, if Trubisky started, they could probably extend a play or two beyond 3 f’n seconds, and allow a depleted WR corps to find holes in the secondary.

      • Scharfinator

        You did respond… just now… ¯_(ツ)_/¯

      • SC Dave

The only possible thing wrong in my comment is that Wright may not have dropped a pass as HBP pointed out.

There is nothing in my post remotely approaching the claim Glennon “tried everything in his power to lose”.

You’ve become as unhinged about this as the snowflakes were when Trump won the election. I’d call it comical, but I’m worried about you. It’s not sane.

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

It could be that Jeff was referring to the fact that Glennon threw a comically inaccurate pass(not the only one that game) that was almost intercepted, which you failed to mention. Or that the long pass Wheaton “dropped” is listed as a pass defense for the DB and not a drop, or the drop by Miller didn’t really matter because it would not have been a 1st down even if he caught it. So yeah an argument could be made the it was 1/2 wrong.

          • SC Dave

Did you mean the one that *was* intercepted?

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

nope i am talking about the one that wasn’t intercepted, although the one that was intercepted was also comically inaccurate.

          • SC Dave

I know which one now…. in the general vicinity of Thompson; early 4Q IIRC. It’s actually good it was that bad, since Thompson was double covered and a third guy looked ready to jump the route.

One of those cases where even throwing it at all was inexplicable.

          • SC Dave

            Not a legitimate argument, however.

        • A7Xthebest

I might suggest that the two are related. Jeff was clearly triggered when Trump won and he’s following the same model: Get on twitter and scream about your dissatisfaction until someone gives you what you want or at least positively reinforces your idiocy.

    • Scharfinator

      So cranky!

      • SC Dave

Because I rendered some boldface in that post?

    • chitownproud85

So are you saying he played a good game and helped them win, or that he didnt play quite as poorly as Jeff would make it sound…? What is your opinion on the QB play for the Bears through the first 3 weeks of the season?

      • chitownproud85

Genuine curiosity btw, no trolling/nonsense here. i’m sure youve stated it in previous posts but now you are asking me to look and laziness wins at the office.

        • SC Dave

In the last thread, I wrote this. It still applies. But I’ll continue to jump on imbecilic comments such as that in Jeff’s audio. Note “we” referred to CanadaBear and I.

“I think we, as usual, understand each other. Trust me, I can see the things that make everyone shake their heads at Glennon. At times, he looks like a real klutz out there – like he couldn’t tie his own shoes.

But as Jeff wrote, there are other instances where he shows he can make accurate, easy-to-catch throws downfield. But the receivers just don’t get them. Perfect example to Wheaton early Sunday, where the guy had a chance to make a big “in your face” play against his former teammate and failed. Then he dropped the other chance later.

The reality is that Glennon has not shown any real reason to be seriously considered as an NFL QB. But the apocalyptic descriptions of some Bears fans are, in a word, bizarre.”

I should have quoted Jeff directly, however, so my apologies to him for that. His actual comment was:

Mike Glennon is a terrible football player. What’s most frustrating is that he occasionally shows he’s capable of throwing the ball down the field. He just refuses, unabashedly, to do so. Take that back. What’s most frustrating is his complete inability to process what’s happening on the football field.

          • chitownproud85

Sounds fair and thoughtful. I do think more often than not he appears to be terrified when he drops back, but I realize there are multiple factors at play. Frustrating to see, but its not ALL bad and being due for a good week when we play the Packers works for me!

          • SC Dave

I think the general observation that Glennon simply does not process the field with sufficient speed is manifestly true.

  • chitownproud85

Its Packer week boys! LETS GO! LETS GOOOOOOOOOO! Its Packer short week? Its Packer half week. Either way, fuck the Packers. Either way, BEARS 24, PACKERS 20 because fuuuuuuuuuuck the Packers. “Unless the every Bears player not named Mike Glennon can be perfect once again.”

We weren’t perfect last week and we won. Granted, perfection would make things easier…

    • willbest

Apparently, Cooper stopping at the 5 yard line was by design. POD’s shit punt. The WR’s leaving 60 yards on the field. Floyd’s whiff on a gimmie sack. False starts, etc.

Then again, Glennon is the only thing standing between Jeff and his vicarious lombardi trophy so he perhaps isn’t seeing clearly.

“My theory is many just blindly support the team they root for. They

refuse to accept fact that Ryan Pace gave a terrible QB a shitload of $.” – Jeff

Ryan Pace gave a bad QB a shitload. He has also thrown away lots of money to other bad players.

Royal, White, Grasu, Rolle. You could probably add Demps and McPhee to that list too.

“When Bears signed Glennon, they had no idea they could even GET Tru.” – Jeff

This better be a false statement. Otherwise Pace should be fired.

    • SC Dave

You all are so funny how wrapped around the axle you are about this Glennon thing. It’s not like we’ve had many real quarterbacks in the past 90 years.

      • Sahr Gborie

That’s the whole point. Not having had a good QB in 90 years makes most fans pretty good at identifying one when we see one.

Maybe if we did not have MT we would be more patient with Giraffe Neck…who knows. I doubt it though. We had Cutty and for as bad as he was he could at least get he ball where it need to be.

I understand that Glennon was signed as smokescreen to draft MT. If you could do FA all over again or even sign any QB on the market right now or that was on the market during FA would Glennon really have been your 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice?

        • SC Dave

Your second sentence does not pass a simple reasonableness check.

Regarding Glennon being a “smoke screen”, I have no idea. Fact is, they took a one year, $16M bet that he would be a lot better than he is. And hindsight is always perfect, so I’m not even going to entertain that last question. It’s as pointless a question leading to nothing but pointless answers.

          • Sahr Gborie

2nd sentence was to say that cutty could make the throws that glennon cant. even though some were very bone headed.

if glennon was not a smoke screen i have to question the decision making/evaluation skills of Pace. how could you look at glennon and really think he was a better option than Cutty (yes we were tired of him), Da Destroya, Barkely, Kaepernick, Fitzpatrick…ect

          • Irish Sweetness

            This.

          • Irish Sweetness

            Why was Pace ‘betting’?

        • Sactowns#1

What exactly have fans seen in a handful of snaps against third stringers that leads them to believe this is their savior?

          • willbest

accuracy, field of vision, pocket awareness.

          • CanadaBear

I can’t remember anyone saying MT was going to be the savior. What I saw from him in limited snaps against scrubs was great pocket presence, good accuracy in the pocket, great mobility and the one thing that has absolutely blown me away is his accuracy on the run. I’ve NEVER seen a Bears QB that accurate on the run in my entire life of watching the Bears (55+ years). Will he be The One? Who knows? It all comes down to that microprocessor in his head. If it works fast and furiously, the Bears are going to be in good hands. If it doesn’t process quickly, uh-oh.

          • SC Dave

That was always the problem with Cutler. Processed too slow to be elite; he had all the tools except that.

          • CanadaBear

100% I was never a hater but much like Lovie, his time with the Bears was over and it was time to move on. Let’s hope MT is a better replacement for Cutler than Nessman was for Lovie!

          • Irish Sweetness

I’ll say it. If people are looking at Mitch and not seeing a stud …. I don’t know, go and watch the Lingerie league or something.

The CPU looked fine and fast in PS.

          • SC Dave

Most are not even third stringers now, or do so much as make a practice squad.

          • Irish Sweetness

Again, how is that related to his accuracy and decision-making?

          • Sahr Gborie

Not saying MT is the savior thought a lot of us make it sound that way. That’s just frustration with Glennon and knowing we have a potentially better option sitting on the bench (not talking about ButtFumble).

We have seen athleticism that Glennon lacks, throws that Glennon lacks, pocket awareness that Glennon lacks.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

I would be happy giving ButtFumble a look.

          • Cuck Cooper

No kidding Sac, maybe Jeff’s got em under his spell. Lol. The kids got talent I’m sure but he ain’t ready yet.

          • Scharfinator

            THANK YOU

          • Irish Sweetness

            Same question.

          • Irish Sweetness

What exactly do 3rd stringers have to do with well-thrown accurate passes and excellent safety with respect to ball-placement and decision-making?

He’s clearly, obviously a massive talent, head and shoulders above 90% of guys in the league.

In his first game, even the incompletions were great.

        • Irish Sweetness

“Not having had a good QB in 90 years…”

          ???

          How old are you?

      • BearDown100393

        1st Giraffe taking snaps.

        People need time to adjust!

        • SC Dave

Had not considered that. Thanks for the insight. I wondered why his knees looked so knobby.

    • Sahr Gborie

Pace will not be fired anytime soon. Are some of his signings frustrating, hell yeah. However he is/was trying to build a house by first clearing the land to make the foundation. That’s a different starting point than Angelo&Emery.

This team is 1 more draft/FA (if Pace goes all out to show them the money) away from being competitive instead of talking about all the potential they have to be competitive.

      • Sactowns#1

Hu? If Gomer gets the nod and then comes in and does nada, Pace is gone. The clear #1 QB was there and we moved up just to pass on him.

        • SC Dave

You’re starting to sound like one of the MT zealots. I suggest we wait three years and then decide.

Unless either MT or DW flame out before then, which I find doubtful.

        • Sahr Gborie

Clear #1 QB??? Lets give it a few years before we start crowing guys. No way am i insinuating that Watson is better than MT or vice versa. Yes Watson is playing well. Credit given where it is due but lets pump the brakes a bit and drive slow.

It will take more than Gomer by himself to right the ship. That’s why I said it will take another draft class/FA to get this team where it needs to be.

          • Irish Sweetness

OTOH, there is DeShone Kizer … would we feel good seeing Mitchell throwing multiple picks at this stage?

    • Irish Sweetness

      Cleveland pick Trubisky at #1.

      What now?

      • willbest

Yes its possible Trubisky could have gone 1 or 2. But you presume your staff is capable of evaluating other team needs, and estimating their likely targets even with all the cloak and dagger stuff.

You are obviously never certain, but “no idea”? You don’t make something your Plan A, if you don’t have confidence you would pull it off. Obviously, you need a Plan B too in a situation like this.

  • willbest

“Folks should watch tape of Texans/Pats & see how much Watson was
able to do by simply extending plays w/legs. Pats had no answer for
    that.” – Jeff

I presume Hightower is still out for the season.

    • Sactowns#1

Geee…. who would have guessed the guy would be ready for the NFL? I mean who on earth…

      • willbest

Sacked on 10% of his drop backs, so that is awful
        3.8% INT rate also awful
6.6 yards per attempt, near the bottom of the league
        Averaging a fumble a game.

His 61% completion rate is middle of the road though.

I mean, he is a rookie and you would take him over Glennon, but lets not get carried away with calling him an NFL caliber QB just yet.

        • Sactowns#1

Rookie year- 3.0 INT rate, 7 yards per attempt, 10 fumbles, 54% completion rate.
          Andrew Luck.

          • willbest

            Yes Luck was even better.

My point is, that you need to chill your jets on Watson being the clear choice, because he hasn’t done anything to make anybody regret not drafting him. Maybe he will by the end of the year, or next but all you got is your feelings on the matter.

I get that you like the kid, but the following QB needy teams all passed on him
Browns, 9ers, Bears, Jets, Jags, Saints.

And a team with a perfectly adequate QB in Alex Smith traded up to take some other QB before Watson. For whatever reason, the scouts, not just some of them, most of them, weren’t sold on Watson.

          • Irish Sweetness

It amazes me SF passed on Watson, and instead choose to go with Hoyer/Barkley, after we dumped them for being brutal.

            Intentional tanking by the Niners?

          • willbest

Shanny the younger looked at the QB’s in this draft and decided that he liked Cousins better. Cousins will be an FA next year with no possibility of tag. Also, by grabbing Hoyer (I think they let Barkley walk) he pretty much assured himself a situation where he would be drafting in the top 10 again giving him a shot at one of the top QB prospects next year.

          • A7Xthebest

Luck landed on a garbage team, the Texans are one of the best rosters in the NFL.

  • CanadaBear

Jeff seems to think if we aren’t screaming from the rooftops it’s a vote for MG at QB. Uh, no. There are still some fans that think the coaching staff has a better handle on the situation than the casual fan. That’s about it. I can’t find anyone that thinks MG is a better QB. I doubt Jeff can either.

    • Scharfinator

Even though I’d prefer MT, screaming stopped getting me what I wanted by about 3 years old.

      • CanadaBear

I’d prefer MT, too. However, there’s not even a tiny part of me that thinks I’ve got better insight into the situation than the coaching staff. I’m not sure how old I was when I stopped (have almost no memories before the age of 5) but I know it didn’t work. Who would guess my parents would have figured things out by the time the 6th kid came along!?!

      • Irish Sweetness

It’s still working for my seven year olds. I suck.

    • Nancy Glennon

Mikey is a better QB, why else would he be starting? I would also guess that SC Dave believes it too. I am so glad others are willing to defend him from all the unjust ridicule he is receiving.

  • evantonio

interesting mike glennon 3rd down stat found on reddit:

We’re using the advance stat “Air Yards to the Sticks” here, which basically calculates that if Glennon’s intended target on 3rd down were to or does catch the ball, how far must they run for a first on average.

In Glennon’s case, the receiver is on average 3.1 yards away from the first. That’s good for worst in the league. For comparison, the next worst is Joe Flacco at 2.5 yards from the first. The best is Tom Brady with 3.4 yards passed the first. Our boy Jay throws in on average 1.8 yards passed the first.

this includes dropped and not dropped passes, so it’s all on him and his reads and where he’s going with the ball.

Good. Time for all this hooey to be exposed and make them change the model. Give the kids the option of a college education or pay them.

That would be a sensible approach.

      • Cuck Cooper

I’ve got a better idea. Just form a semi-pro collegiate league and work out a deal to share the revenue that’s basically what they’re doing now anyway. Let’s face it, there aren’t enough student athletes left anymore.

        • CanadaBear

Not that I know anything but I can only imagine the shit that goes on. Either educate the kids or pay ’em, their choice. If Paterno can enable a pedo for decades, there has to be a trail of tears a mile wide throughout the industry.

          • Cuck Cooper

There’s just too much TV revenue coming in to keep some of these schools honest. Maybe you only allow the revenue to be used to pay down the national debt.? Lol. The shennanigans would never stop because theres too much money at stake.

No doubt but share some of that with the kids that want to get paid. NCAA is beyond hypocritical.

Actually the vast majority of them are student athletes, just not in a sport that you follow. There are tons of football players in college that are going there for the education. Most of them know the NFL is only a dream.

        Story of Pitino:

        http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/20835496/louisville-coach-rick-pitino-find-way-trouble

If the Feds threaten these Adidas reps with hard time, they may roll on some pretty big names in the NCAA.

The Miami Hurricanes are certainly going to go to purgatory with the Cardinals.

Pitino was always the most scummy, having cheap hookers come in and service his “boys”

    • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

I guess that settles it all the Chicago writers are picking the Packers to win, so it must be true.

      • willbest

Why even play the game at this point.

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

yep, sounds like to much of a risk, we should forfeit for player safety. We don’t need any more injuries because of an unwinnable game.

      • CanadaBear

The last time I remember this exact same scenario was two years ago when Foxy got his signature Bears win (accent on singular).

      • SC Dave

Beat me to it. This means, of course, we’re winning.

Ritz rolls are better than getting Rick rolled. Love the Dodge Monaco. Other than the Mopar beasts, Chrysler really made some bad cars back then. Even the Mopar beasts were usually thrashed after about 3 years but what a 3 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you watch Fantomworks on Discovery? Of all the car build shows, it’s my favorite. It’s cheesy at times but they do some cool stuff. I do like it at the end when they get on the cars once in a while.

          • King of DBB

I don’t watch that show. I tried watching that show with the cheeseball dude and his short sidekick, the gas monkey guys.

            Fast n Loud.

I didn’t like that show it seemed really contrived.

          • CanadaBear

I watched F&L for the cars, the rest of the stuff, meh. Fantomworks has less of the bromance BS. Still contrived and corny but much less so than F&L.

  • Cuck Cooper

I had decided to say fack spending any more time following this team till they pulled their heads out of their arse’s and since I’m already pretty much fed up with patronizing the NFL I was very close to throwing in the towel. But…. NO…….the Bears go and beat the Steelers in spite of that Cuck Cooper, so yup, here I am, sniffing around the blog again.

Just when you try to leave, they reel you back in.

    • CanadaBear

Just go with Trac! If the D can stay somewhat healthy the Bears have a chance. The ST’s are really coming around other than your namesake!! At some point MT will get in there and even if the Bears suck it will be fascinating to watch MT develop (or not).

      • Irish Sweetness

        TRAC??? Oh holy Jebus ….

      • Cuckold Cooper

Actually I am, I had thought using an alias for a short time would help me with any withdrawal symptoms as I purged my soul from this sick relationship I have with the Bears but GP blew my cover. Once again, I’m going to have to re-invent myself or go cold Turkey. Jeff does it every thread so why the hell not? That’s what Pace bots do.

        • SC Dave

Lol. Are you saying a multiple personality disorder is a benefit as a Bears fan?

          • Cuck Cooper

Lol. I’ve still got 1 toe in my happy place Dave, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before I join you and dream world is lost forever.

  • WP4Life

    Bears 23 – 20!

I want to see Trub play, what Big Mike shared the other day, makes sense. Bears will win again with Glennon. Jeff seems stuck on Trub not starting that he has the Bears losing – not this week. Bears win ugly in GB.

It’s obvious Jeff is a time traveller, or at least the alien overlords allowed Jeff to time travel.

        • BearDown100393

That makes sense. So Jeff already knows the Bears beat the Packers 139 – 0.

I hate it but the game will be won or lost in the first qtr of tomorrows game. If the Bears press hard, take an early lead they can win this one. If they fall behind by more than one score, we will need defensive and ST miracles to win.

    • SC Dave

Or simply let the TE/FB enhanced line continue to beat the fuck out of those pussies and let the RBs rack up 150 yards in the 4th Q to win.

This could be a m effing smash mouth team – with a short-but-not-small freak show to literally run around them late.

I say Howard/Bennie and all the guys up front just keep battering away.

The key will be, of course, NOT turning the ball over and slowing GB just like we did with Atlanta.

    • Johnnywad

I think they’re going to sack the shit out of Rodgers early and often. I also think they’re going to run the ball at will against that Packers D.

I don’t bet on football games, but I’m betting the Bears look pretty strong tomorrow night.

  • BerwynBomber

“DaBearsBlog @dabearsblog Down to backup tackles on both sides, Fangio HAS TO let Floyd loose on Rodgers. Get somebody else to drop into coverage.”

The Cheese have three OTs (including their top 2 backup OTs) on IR. They just signed a guy off ARI’s PS. Though there seems to be some thought that Backtieri might play.

Btw, Cheese also lost their long-snapper for the year. Gotta believe that eventually might snag them.

EDIT: both their staring OTs are listed as doubtful. They might be starting two PS guys, one of whom they just signed off the street.

    • 505Bears

DLine has to have a big night against that line. They SHOULD have a big night against that line.

      • Johnnywad

They’ve already played well. And that Oline is hot dogshit. One of the most elusive QBs in the game leads the league in sacks. He’s fucked.

  • BearDown100393

How the Bears should feel on the bus to Green Bay….

  • Don’t Caaaaaaare!

Ahh! Feeling refreshed and with a different perspective on my NFL quandary. A new clean slate on my Disqus handle as well.
A couple days have gone by and my frustration with the millennials in the NFL has subsided a bit. I’m becoming more at peace the current state of affairs.

    • SC Dave

      Breathe. Center. Smile.

Contemplate the beauty of an impending victory over the immortal enemy, Grasshopper.

    • Johnnywad

      They just don’t matter Waffle.

You ever look to a group of 20 something NFL athletes for advice on any other front in your life? What they say or think shouldn’t matter one damn bit to you. Certainly not enough to piss you off.

If they feel they need to do something, fine. Do it. Hope it helps on some level. I just wholeheartedly doubt that it ever will. The whole thing has, to me at least, evolved to what feels like empty, meaningless, reality TV.

The power of meaningful protest seems to have evaporated. The machine just keeps on chugging.

I just want to watch me some football.

      • willbest

I was discussing that with another dad recently. Kaep hasn’t done anything to help BLM. This #generation’s belief that simple awareness matters is slacktavism at its finest.

For starters, unless you live under a rock you know what BLM is, and what they want. So he isn’t actually bringing any additional awareness to the issue. Second, and most important, people are busy. Just telling them there is a problem accomplishes nothing. If you want to get something done you present them solutions you are working on, how they can help you, and you ask nicely for that help.

        • SC Dave

But SOLUTIONS are the antithesis of what BLM wants. If something is SOLVED, their gravy train dries up and the bureaucracy has to find real jobs.

It’s the M.O of the giant majority of NGOs.

        • Cubsnlinux

          THIS.

Hell of an Avatar, Stuart Smalley. “I’m good enough. I’m smart enough. And doggone it, people like me.”

  • Sactowns#1

Jeff has become such a total whiner on this topic. The worst thing is he’s doing nothing but setting Gomer up for failure. Now if Gomer comes in and does anything short of awesome (meaning if he plays like a rookie QB) there will be calls for blood. Pump the brakes on the total unknown quantity you have sitting on the bench.

    • Don’t Caaaaaaare!

Sac, the hard part about letting an unknown quantity sit on the bench while your D and RB’s leave it all out on the field is that you’re telling your team that they have to be prepared to lose and lose in exhausting heartbreaking fashion. Seeing what you have in Glennon and not knowing what you COULD have in Trublinisky is agonizing.

      • SC Dave

The team is bonding. Did you read Long’s comment on looking at Howard in the huddle?

Maybe this defense will learn to play with the urgency of the BU led teams.

And the receivers have to FINALLY step up. There has not been a single catch yet (save perhaps a nice overhead snag by Cohen on a check down) yet this season.

No Alshon-like steals on the jump ball. No Earl-like snags of balls thrown a half-step behind.

        How about THAT this week?

You know, get the team READY to shrug off the inevitable rookie miscues?

Just maybe… maybe… the professional coaching staff knows what they are doing?

        Or not.

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

“You know, get the team READY to shrug off the inevitable rookie miscues” they should be well versed in it after having to shrug off the inevitable Glennon miscues.

Crap I said I was going to try not being negative about Glennon. Let me rephrase.

I am so glad that Glennon has taken it upon himself to make mistakes so the team can bond and get ready for the eventual starting of a rookie QB.

          • SC Dave

You’re just a troll, and you know it

      • leftcoastdave

Dudes. The delusions of grandeur of presuming you know better than the coaches what is best for the team is getting very old.

Fox and Company believe it is in the best interests of the team to continue to play Glennon.

You know what to presume to know better?

        • Irish Sweetness

100% they’re playing him because of the salary … until he totally shits the bed.

          • SC Dave

obviously, dave’s point eluded you 100%

          • Irish Sweetness

            No, I disagreed with it.

      • Nancy Glennon

What you have in my Mikey is a great QB! He is efficient and accurate. And if his receivers could catch he would be 2-1. I personally like how he does a rope-a-dope scheme through the first 3 quarters of games where he lulls defenses into think he is the worst QB ever. We actually came up with that plan as a family during our annual July 4th cookout and fireworks extravaganza.

Fun Fact: Mikey really loves my 7 Layer Dip, it’s his favorite.

    • Irish Sweetness

Is Mitch a total unknown? In his first game of PS I saw accuracy and decision-making the kind of which I’ve never seen from a QB in a Bears’ uni. Ever. Mitchell is very very good. What he shoed in PS is untrelated to the level of competition.

But continually shitting on Glennon when there’s nothing we can do about it … yeah.

      • SC Dave

        Oh gawd… against high schoolers.

      • madscout12

This. He was quick through his reads. His footwork improved from the first to last game. He was accurate, in the pocket and on the run. He was mobile. That doesn’t go away.

I think the one thing I saw that concerned me is that he made some really, really bad decisions on about 1-2 throws per game. He did not pay for them. He will in the regular season.

All in all, I think he’s ready and that the growing pains should be this year, not next. We need to evaluate what pieces need to be here next year now and for the draft. We know WR is a need, but there is a guy or two in our bunch that belongs on a good team. How does DB look? OLB? ILB? TE? T? Need another RB? We need to be thinking SB next year and the year after, while Mitch is on his rookie deal. That’s the window. We have the cap space and the shell of pieces to make a splash next year. Don’t need a QB learning the ropes in his first pro action for that.

        • Irish Sweetness

Over the 4-5 dodgy decisions Cutty would make per game, I’ll take it ….

And I hope we take another RB in the draft next season, while the going is apparently good.

Guys, talk me out of it. I have Vadgers starting this week against the beloved, but my heart and balls say start someone else.

Carr’s on my bench, with notables available being Wentz, Bortles, Palmer among others. No bears on my roster, and I’m facing Captain Kirk.
