How long does anyone make it through this podcasts – honestly?

  • leftcoastdave

I love Josh Bellamy. This from Bob LeGere:

    Josh Bellamy, whose heated verbal
altercation with fellow wide receiver Tre McBride on Monday resulted in
McBride getting axed on Tuesday, said of his role: “I don’t feel bad for
    nothing.”
The argument began in the wide
receivers’ meeting room and spilled into the hallway, clearly audible
through the walls and locked door of the adjoining media work room.
    “Brotherly love, man,” Bellamy
said. “Everybody, we love each other, man. Brothers get into it. You
ever get into it with your brother?”

    • BearDown100393

      Catch the football.

    • willbest

Yeah well it is going to cost his “brother” $150k-180k to miss the last 5 games of the season.

      • Scharfinator

        Wasn’t his choice though… unless he’s 100% two faced.

        • BearDown100393

Wasn’t there, nobody else really knows

        • willbest

It was bad enough that “dad” had to pick a side.

          • Scharfinator

That’s fair, as long as you think Fox’s decision making is sound. 😛

      • What, your brother never cost you $150K?

        Pshh.

  • SC Dave

    lol… ludicrous hyperbole about Francesa.

“Never” is long, long time, Jeff.

    • DaBearsBlog

The man invented an entire medium. That is never happening again.

      • SC Dave

You said: “… the greatest sports radio host in the history of the world and will never be topped.”

Radio is a tiny part of the history of the world, and never is a very long time. Hence my attribution of hyperbole. I should have left “ludicrous” out, though. Sorry for that.

        • BearDown100393

Anything and everything eventually is topped. No discredit to the effort though.

        • AlbertInTucson

“… the greatest sports radio host in the history of the world and will never be topped.”

Actually, I think it IS ludicrous hyperbole.

      • AlbertInTucson

So, Sports Talk radio shows All Sports Radio didn’t exist before 1987?

        Wrong.

        • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

before 1987 they did not scream into the mic. it was much more polite.

          • AlbertInTucson

            Also wrong.

          • willbest

The wiki tells me that Bill Mazer was the first sports radio show in 1964

When Francesa was about 10 years old.

    • Scharfinator

With our language, we have to take absolute words with a grain of salt. Never, forever, etc. all end in our perspective.

Some circles think time isn’t linear, we’re just limited to perceiving it such a way.

    • Meh. I agree with Jeff. Certain personalities are unique.

There will never be another Vin Scully, Harrey Caray, John Madden…

And anyone who does come close will be “Scully-esque” or “Madden-ish”.

      • willbest

I don’t think you can blaze somebody else’s trial though. They will be their own personality.

        • I feel like broadcasting has settled into predictable formulas and archetypes.

          1. Loud mouth Ex Jock/coach. We can call this “Shannon Sharpe” ism
          2. “Thoughtful” ex Jock/coach to balance loud mouth. We can call this “Steve Young” ism
          3. Some twerp journalist who baby sits the aforementioned. Costas/Eisen/Turico

Throw in a female/meatball sideline reporter , FF stat guy, and some ex-lawyer or ref, and bam.

          Prime-time.

          • willbest

What do you call the Score (I know you don’t listen to Chi radio) but their shtick is to find the dumbest fans on the planet, put them on the air, and then mock them.

          • Condescending shock-jock diarrhea .

I did listen to it for a time because being in L.A., that was the only way for me to get up to date stuff on the Bears, and I liked some of their guests like Biggsy, Hub, Patrick Mannelly…

But having to listen to guys like Mully/Hanley was not worth it.

            They’re basically a 3 hour fart-joke.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former national security adviser Michael Flynn is scheduled for a plea hearing at 10:30 a.m. EST.

    • Dave Fauxb

Flynn was Gen. Stanley McCrystal’s right hand man in Afghanistan.

When the Rolling Stone reporter took them down, Flynn was also pushed out.

    • evantonio
      • willbest

Heh. Flynn like P before him is pleading guilty to talking to the police. Never talk to the police.

      • Follow up tweets.

1/ First, it’s important to understand that Mueller has entered into a
plea deal with Flynn in which Flynn pleads guilty to far less than the
available evidence suggests he could be charged with. This indicates
that he has cut a deal with Mueller to cooperate in the Russia probe.

5/ What this suggests is Flynn brings substantial inculpatory info (info
tending to incriminate others) to the table. Unlike Papadopoulos, Flynn
was going to be—because of his position in the administration—a primary
target of the probe. So he had to offer a lot to get this deal.

6/ Deals like this are offered *only* when a witness can incriminate
someone “higher up the food-chain” than them. In the case of the
nation’s former National Security Advisor, the *only* people above him
in the executive-branch hierarchy are the President and the Vice
        President.

mmmm… But I’m sure that new tax breaks for the top .001 will make the po rust belt folks forget about treason…

        • willbest

People that commit treason don’t get dinged for lying to the FBI because people that commit treason plead the 5th and never talk to them.

But I suppose that is too much logic, when there is a good narrative to be had.

Incidentally, if Flynn actually had the goods on Trump, his plea deal would have been full immunity.

          • So who is Flynn gonna rat out in the Alt-right world?

          • willbest

What makes you think he is going to rat out anybody?

My comment below is pretty much ironclad truth. If you are a person of interest, you never talk to the police under any circumstances. It can never help your case. I mean it. NEVER. So either Flynn got himself the worlds dumbest defense attorney, or the poor sap thought that it was honorable and he had nothing to hide with cooperating with the authorities. The problem is if you talk to the police they will catch you making a false statement.

          • The FBI doesn’t hand out plea deals with Russian conspirators just cuz it’s Xmas season.

Obviously, they made a deal to charge him with less in return for his cooperation

            Why would they do that?

(Other than not to get his superiors)

          • willbest

The point is, if he never talked to them in the first place (as was within his constitutional rights) they wouldn’t have this thing to charge him with. They would have actually had to go and make a reasonable doubt case about something and have to answer the uncomfortable questions associated with how they were even allowed to wiretap him in the first place, and its possible that his defense attorney would get all that thrown out as fruit of the poison tree.

          • You mean Flynn SHOULD have been a smarter conspirator and criminal.

            Got it.

          • willbest

Everybody should lawyer up. Guilty people, who at least have talked to a lawyer, generally have the self-preservation to do so. So if he was guilty, why wouldn’t he listen to his lawyer telling him to lawyer up?

Until somebody explains this gaping hole, they can’t run with the theories they are trying to.

          • It’s easy. When prosecutors have overwhelming evidence of guilt (and his son’s, presumably, who he may be protecting with the plea), then it’s in the defendants interest to co-operate and rat out higher ups.

Only 3 higher ups. The Kushster (who will turn over like a prison bitch he is), the VP and the Orange one.

How do you think the godfathers got taken down?

          • willbest

The standard way you go after people for a criminal conspiracy and you flip one is to get your new best bud to admit to the conspiracy and plead guilty to it. This fully invests them in the process of bring the conspiracy down in order to receive their goodies. The only thing that Flynn is on record admitting to is post-election maneuvering by the Trump administration to spike some UN resolution and to hold off on retaliatory sanctions. Leon Panetta (form Obama top spy and SecDec) doesn’t even think that is a crime, though he called it highly unusual and a break from tradition.

Flynn talked to the FBI because he didn’t think he did anything wrong. And he probably hadn’t until he lied to them. Which goes back to my original point. Don’t talk to the police.

          • Lol you actually believe the ONLY law Flynn broke was lying to the FBI?

If that were the case, Mueller would throw the book at him and call it a day.

But OBVIOUSLY Mueller handed him a VERY weak charge in order for co-operation. Most experts correctly outlined that Flynn could’ve been charged with enough shit to put him away for 60 years, not 0-6 months.

Remember when you and Trump were saying “fake news!” ?

Flynn plead guilty to hiding stuff from the FBI investigation into Russian meddling in US elections.

            NOT fake news.

Flynn will likely roll on Kushner.

Kushner then will have to think long and hard about going to federal ass pounding prison for the Orange Daddy.

          • willbest

You aren’t following what i said, and as a result your answer was non responsive. you are confusing politics with legal. what muller has done was gotten flynn to plead guilty to lying under oath, without giving up an conspiracy. That is in fact bad for thier case because now the have an admitted perjurer as thier witness.

          • willbest

Oh I am going to be accused of whatever, but Hillary Clinton and her band did it right. The only way the agreed to waive their 5th amendment rights and talk to the FBI is if the FBI couldn’t use anything they said against them. And even then it was full of “I don’t recalls”. I mean that is some grade A lawyering right there. Flynn should have been on the phone the Cheryl Mills the second Mueller showed up at his door.

          • Ah, I was waiting for the Et Tu!

I use it as a way to gauge hypocrisy. Anybody that doesn’t throw whoever I bring up under the bus, I know doesn’t have principles.

In any event. I didn’t say she was guilty. I said her lawyer crew did it right. That is how you handle it if you must talk to them. So the question is, why would Flynn do it differently?

    • In like Flynn!

If the Bears don’t win this one, then whatever. All that free agency, pre-draft, training camp, preseason hype was just a waste of time. Well, it pretty much is already a waste of time, but at least put up a fight you sack of wastes!!

    • BearDown100393

Failing to make the playoffs (again), failing to win a divisional game, failing to develop draft talent (ahem Hobo et al.) – 2017 has been a waste.

      • SC Dave

FFS, can you go a single day without being a whiny little bitch?

BD nothing against ya but just because we aren’t bitching non-stop doesn’t mean we’re worse fans, that we accept failure, that we’re responsible for their long term failure, etc. It just means we’re not bitching 24/7. That’s all!

          • BearDown100393

No you just complain about those who point out the truth.

It’s really something how anybody that looks at things differently than you is a mindless idiot. Yet you spend hours upon hours a week drafting miserable little quips, all to no end. So who’s the idiot?

I see the losses. I see the roster for what it is. The issue, is you’re completely devoid of even a shred of objectivity. You fail to reaillize that what they’re working on takes time, is not an exact science, and is damn near impossible to do.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

            But….he doesn’t accept failure.

          • Dis Guy Trublinsky

Yes he does. His Bears are losing just like ours. And he’s still watching the games and blog posting his ass off. Thereby making the Bears more money and rewarding their efforts.

          • BearDown100393

I do expect the Bears despite the week’s distractions to manage a win this weekend.

Since when is losing a sign of toughness?

No wonder the Bears are screwed.

          • SC Dave

How have I justified losing, imbecile?

          • BearDown100393

            Except you didn’t.

        • I can understand his frustration.

How long were you trying to tell Da Blog that Cutler sucked, and no one was listening. I remember Waffle even calingl you a troll (and other things) more than a few times.

Part of the raison d’etre of this Blog is to vent.

          We all do it.

It’s just frustrating when you see something, and the rest seem to be oblivious.

Like when I called Cutler a 2nd string QB or my endless Fox rants when everyone kept saying “it’s injuries it’s injuries”

Or Jeff’s infamous hourly diatribes against Glennon.

I think we can all get frustrated at times with the shit show esp when others are slower to recognize certain aspects of it.

That being said, it can get tiresome.

Like Canada said, not like we can do anything about it.

And not bitching endlessly doesn’t mean we’re complicit or accepting.

The degenerate gambler, a segment that Mully likes to have on the Score on Fridays (since Buffone died) – he says that nobody – I mean NOBODY – is going to walk-up on this game. (Vegas factors in the many many people who drunk walk-up to the bookie wall and place just-before-kickoff bets.)

Foxy has NEVER COVERED THE SPREAD IN THE LAST 11 GAMES where his team was favored. (that’s an insane stat when you think about it) And it’s Bears +3. And nobody will touch this game because they are so aware the Bears could shit the bed on this.

If you truly don’t care what anybody thinks, why bother to make your thoughts public here?

Near as I can tell, there are exactly two people in the entirety of the blog history that actually agree with you consistently. Yet you keep spouting on about “truth” and “attacking” like some kind of weirdo.

Who exactly are you attacking with your super clever posts? They’re not listening.

You don’t like Fox. Fine. Nobody does at this point. You don’t like Pace. It’s meaningless. He’s here until, and if, Trubisky doesn’t pan out. If Trubisky pans out, here’s here for a long time. You don’t like anybody in the food chain above Pace. Completely fucking laughable. They’re not going anywhere. The Bears are theirs to do with what they please. You don’t like it? Tough shit for you.

I am so glad the McCaskeys own the Bears. Pace is a wonderful GM. Fox and his merry men have done a fine job of coaching. Unfortunately it’s the refs screwing us week in and week out causing us to lose. Also if we did not have a bunch of wussy players that think they need PEDs to play or think they have to go on the IR when they get a hangnail, we would be leading the division. These players are just a bunch of pussy millennials. It is a shame that these players are a bunch of pansies, because they are ruining the great work the coaches, front office, and owners, are doing

McBride isn’t 1 of two people on the roster capable of screaming down the field and thumping a shifty speedster headed the other way. By contrast they have 4 other WRs that can’t get separation from DBs

Guy decided to analyze NYC rats for his dissertation and analyze their DNA.

When the researchers drilled down even deeper, they found that different neighborhoods have their own distinct rats. “If you gave us a rat, we could tell whether it came from the West Village or the East Village,” says Combs. “They’re actually unique little rat neighborhoods.” And the boundaries of rat neighborhoods can fit surprisingly well with human ones.

    I wonder why that is.

Run for POTUS instead. He’s qualified.

        • AlbertInTucson

So, Lauer has publicly ADMITTED to the veracity of at least SOME of the accusations but now he’s claiming NBC fired him unjustly?

That should give some judge a good laugh. if it ever GETS that far, which I doubt.

No doubt Matt’s legal eagles will just be trying to get a settlement payout.

          • willbest

I have no idea what the contract says. Remember we found out Weinstein had a provision in his contract where as long as he paid a fine to the company, they couldn’t fire him for sexual harassment claims.

          • AlbertInTucson

I don’t get the sense Lauer is THAT smart.

Of course, maybe his agent or attorney IS..

    Final injury report before Sunday.

Chicago Bears final injury report vs. San Francisco: OUT — LB Isaiah
    Irving. DOUBTFUL — S Adrian Amos. QUESTIONABLE — S Deon Bush, S
DeAndre Houston-Carson, CB Cre’Von Leblanc (illness), G Josh Sitton
    (concussion) and CB Bryce Callahan.

    • willbest

I guess questionable concussion is that he still has the final stage of protocol to go through? I don’t recall Sitton being pulled in the middle of the game. Oh right, I turned it off at half time. Was he pulled? Was the hit ugly?

      • AlbertInTucson

I lasted into the 3rd but wasn’t paying much attention before I actually bailed out.

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

pussitis. he got a hangnail, but they did not want to put that on the injury report.

      • CanadaBear

Yeah, he was taken out. Took a good whack but it’s always hard to tell when there are bodies everywhere.

    • Can Demps be activated this week?

So much for the Bush, Carson, Hall experiment at S.

LeBlanc is having an interesting season.

Still think Callahan is better, but LeBlanc has made plays.

Does this also mean that Bullard will actually play? or Rob-Roy?

      • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

        Bullard played last week.

        • Didn’t even notice him. Did he even get a pressure or make a tackle?

Thought he was still out with a glute.

          • “Modestly” Huge Bears Penis

            3 tackles 1 sack 2 qb hits.

      • BerwynBomber

LeBlanc is a playmaker. He showed that last year with his pick six against PieFace and G. Tate. And he also had two PDs and saved what otherwise would have been two TDs against Rodgers in last year’s first Cheese game. I recall AD using stills of those plays to indicate how horrible LeBlanc was which was classic out-of-context stupidity. (AD, IMO, had a lot of bad moments last year, but his stuff has improved noticeably this year.)

The flip side of LeBlanc is that he can be burned badly. Probably his most memorable toasting occurred in the second Cheese game (last season) on the 3rd down last-minute bomb from Rodgers to Nelson that set up their game-winning/ending FG. Of course one-and-one that long with Nelson is a tough ask for any CB, but Nelson is obviously no longer a deep threat as he was pre-ACL tear and LeBlanc was three yards in the rear.

I like LeBlanc. He is superb for a scrap heap guy. But he is risk/reward and Callahan is more consistent.

        • willbest

LeBlanc is the Mitch Trubisky of CBs. Flashes of greatness with a lot of WTF inbetween.

          • BerwynBomber

Or he is a smaller/less talented version of Tracy Porter.

Porter was also a playmaker who could get toasted. And he was a less talented version of DeAngelo Hall, who played the same way.

          • Yeah, but Porter was tasked to shadow Hilton, Julio, Evans with ONE leg with no pass rush.

Kinda stupid by Fangio, and Porter didn’t embarrass himself for the most part considering.

            I agree with Will.

LeBlanc is more up and down while Callahn is steadier but inj prone.

          • willbest

Irish might not know what to do with this post. On the one hand you have Fangio hate, but on the other you have Porter love. He will be conflicted.

          • BerwynBomber

Of course Porter did. That’s why I said LeBlanc was less talented. He’s a depth guy. But similar M.O.’s

          • BearDown100393

He did get better this season.

          • BerwynBomber

He showed flashes last season too.

          • AlbertInTucson

“Showing flashes” is what got Matt Lauer fired.

          • BerwynBomber

KathieLee still loves him, though. In fact, she’s hurting for him.

          • BearDown100393

There might be something there. He has a knack for being around the ball but needs to complete more big type plays.

    • BearDown100393

LeBlanc is gonna die from that sushi.

I used to use it. But they kept so much legacy support in it that it became a bloated mess and really affected load times. It was noticeably worse than Chrome and even Edge. Unless its had an overhaul in the last couple years I would recommend against it.

Firefox says they got rid of some of the bloat with their new version. I have been running it for a little while on a test basis. No different than Chrome when it comes to load times. However I have not pushed it with 10+ tabs open or websites with known loading issues.
