• Big Mike
    • Irish Sweetness

To this day the most disgusting thing I’ve seen in sports. Might have cost us a Superbowl or two. I don’t even think the prick was aware what he did was wrong – shaking his head ? And then there was the high fives. Sickening.

      Rest in pain, Charles.

Fuck Charles Martin, Forrest Gregg, and Fuck the Packers.

      • Big Mike

At least one SB. Doug Flutie.. proof that even the greatest defense of all time can’t win a SB without an actual QB.

        • Irish Sweetness

This is why I think he’s our greatest QB. Tomczak. Flutie. We had no chance, even with a top defense plus Walter. No guarantee Jay wins it in ’85. Hampton hated Mac, but I’ll bet he respected the shit out of him as a baller. He would have pushed Cutler into a trash can.

          • Big Mike

Kyle Orton, Rex Grossman, Jim Miller, Steve Fuller, Jay Cutler, Brian Hoyer.. all would have one more than 1 SB with that team. McMahon not being able to get on the field most of his career is why I don’t agree. We’ve had this discussion. I love McMahon. If I had to win a game and I knew he was 100% healthy, I’d take McMahon, every time. BTW Cutler and McMahon aren’t that different. Both were/are assholes who do things their own way. Pressure doesn’t get to them. McMahon tried to do too much and wrecked his body/career. Cutler tries to do too much and he wrecked his body, career and also his teams chance of winning.

          • Sauron’s right eyeball

This kinda stuff cracks me up. If grasshoppers had machine guns? Different era, totally different beasts took the field back then Mike.

          • Big Mike

It’s all for fun.    Point is that team was loaded. There might have e been 20+ starting QBs in the league that year that could have won a super bowl or two with the Bears.   Fuller maybe even.  Flutie, Tomczak.  Nah.
            Get Outlook for iOS

          • Doc Hamstring

I think you’re right. McMahon and Cutler, while articulating their personalities differently, are very similar. Doing things their own way, with zero fucks given.

McMahon in this day and age would have retired at 30 with half a billion dollars (exaggeration, folks) in the bank and half a billion more functional brain cells.

I think stability at QB means more than talent. If Tomczak was THE QB from 87-90, that team would’ve been back to the Super Bowl. Grossman at his best wouldn’t have done it, had he been injured half the time. Point is, what killed the late-80s Bears dynasty wasn’t a lack of talent at QB, it was a lack of one guy taking the snaps.

          • Big Mike

Jimmy Mac. What a guy. Stability is the point I just made up above in a response to Irish. An average starter from that era who maybe only missed a game or so a season would have had a great shot at 2-3 SBs. Instead we’re out there losing to the f’n Redskins with Doug Flutie.

          • Irish Sweetness

No way on Rex, I mean he was there in a SB. He had his shot, albeit without Tommie and Mike. We needed Jimmy Mac in a lot of those games in ’85. If JJimmy stats against Miami and Buddy wasn’t such a stubborn asshole, maybe we’re perfect.

No way on Hoyer, for me. He can’t make professional quarterback throws. Captain checkdown.

Kyle, maybe, yeah. We like Kyle.

Fuller couldn’t do anything against Miami.

Miller, possibly. I’d throw in Brian Griese there.

BUt Ditka said it all when he said we don’t win a Lombardi that season without Mac.

          • Big Mike

The 2006 defense wasn’t anywhere near as good as the 1985 defense. With the 1985 defense, Bears Beat Indy with Rex. But the point is, none of those guys had the 1985, 86, 87 defense and Walter Payton. Brian Griese. Yep he’s another guy.

Bears won, how many games in 1985 without McMahon? Yes, McMahon saved a couple, but do you think a 13-3 bears team doesnt win the Super Bowl that year? They would have needed 6 points to get the SB and 11 points to win it. Obviously game circumstances would be vastly different.. but you get my point.

Bears didn’t need much to win SB with that team. What they needed was a starting QB who they could count on playing. My opinion is that would have resulted in more than 1 SB.

      • Doc Hamstring

Pretty sure Mac was concussed on that play, too. His head whiplashed onto the cold turf, so it’s likely his brainpan took some damage, even if it wasn’t a concussion. Who knows how many of his problems today were from cheap shots he took on the field.

Oh, and I’m firmly on Team Ditka when it comes to this and other cheap shots during the Gregg era. That was all coaching. Remember the fight in the ’85 preseason game against the Packers, when the guy tackled Walter into the bench?

That was all Gregg. What a fucking jerk.

        • Big Mike

          Possibly all of them.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Fuck the Packers.

Here’s to a two game lead in the series. That is all.

    • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

notice how you didn’t say McPhee?

  • BearDown100393

Barkley must make his bones today.
    Beat the Packers.
    And so he shall.

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

I’ve decided that to be a true fan you have to prove it with your actions and not meaningless words. My wife knew it when I sat slowly down at the computer and placed an enormous bet on Bovada on the Packers.
You can thank me for the Bears win afterwards while i’m 4 Zombies deep. Four.

    • Irish Sweetness

You did not bet on the Packers!!

We’re winning this game. Mathematically, statistically we can’t possibly lose another one on the trot. Well, we can ….

      • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

i only bet on the Packers so the Bears would win.

    • Shady

Are you laying points or are you betting the ML?

      • Irish Sweetness

        What’s the line?

      • MB30SD

        I bet on Tauruses

      • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

Pts on the Packers. More importantly laying the points has allowed me to put together the most audacious Parlay bet of all time. I am concerned that including the Vikings in this epic bet will bite me in the ass. If the Colts win and that is the reason I don’t win 7600.00 I will buy an Andrew Luck jersey.

    • Big Mike

I get it. Once I posted on facebook. “to the fans of playoff teams, I will gladly cheer for your opponent, to increase your odds of victory. Compensation TBD”

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

      Playing both sides eh?

      • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

        maybe.

        • Sauron’s right eyeball

          It’s the only way.

  • MB30SD

    Doooooods, seriously… MotherFUCK the packers

    • Doc Hamstring

Cold weather makes for brittle bones. Think Rodgers’ collarbone can take a good pop on a cold day? Maybe a nice hamstring tear?

Here’s to Floyd and Hicks saying to each other “Meet you at 12”

        Mike!! Already did my maingses

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

There’s gonna be some cracked vaginas out dare today.

  • willbest

Dammit rook you gotta make that tackle

  • willbest

And that is why we need a secondary

  • willbest

    Good lord

  • Huge Bears Penis

    got to wrap him up

  • CanadaBear

    That was easy.

  • willbest

Well the D clearly doesn’t like the cold. It’s going to get ugly quick if Barkley doesn’t bring it

  • madscout12

Guess we’ll call roughing the passer but not holding.

    Why am I not surprised.

    • CanadaBear

Stupid of Hicks to tackle him. He knew the ball was gone.

      • BearDown100393

        Tackle to hurt.

      • willbest

It was pretty blatant but it was already a Fst down and it only cost them 7 yards

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

        Pack were scoring anyways.

Might as well get some hits.

        • CanadaBear

I’m OK with it too but he didn’t lay any wood,

  • RenoBear

Great to see Erin flop and get the call. He’s such a bitch. Fuck the fudgers

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Well, now we know why Fangio doesn’t blitz much.

    Our blitzers SUCK.

Kwiat had a WIDE open Vadgers to destroy and he wiffed.
Then another blitz on 3rd and 10 and Vadge dodges that and shreds the secondary again.

But I say fuck it. Keep hitting Vadgers till he cracks.

    • Irish Sweetness

      Doesn’t mean you don’t try.

  • willbest

    Thompson likes the cold

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Hey, it gets cold in Newport. Like 40. Brrrrr.

  • willbest

    Go for it

  • willbest

    Wow st

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Alshon. Doesn’t want to be left out.
    Drop.

  • willbest

Bellamy can stay as WR5 st player

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Wow. First pin inside the 5 since eva.

  • CanadaBear

Love to see a DB jump a slant route down there.

  • BearDown100393

    Top WRs make that completion.

    • willbest

Top QBs throw it past the markers

  • Irish Sweetness

No Balls Fangio has decided to give Aaron a 400 yard game today?

    • CanadaBear

      Blitzers have missed.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

He blitz on two 3rd and longs there.
Vadgers just made the blitzers miss and he hit that secondary for two first downs.

      • Irish Sweetness

Well, a 4 man rush is not a blitz to me …

  • Huge Bears Penis

shit announcers just said POD had a nice year.

    • BearDown100393

      Double downed.

  • willbest

Obviously there was no hold there

  • willbest

    Who?

  • Huge Bears Penis

wow lets just tackle the outside rusher!

    • madscout12

      Won’t be called all day.

  • EnderWiggin

I like LeBlank, but if he is going to guard Nelson all day: I’m going to hate him.

  • Irish Sweetness

Who the fuck is CJ Wilson?

    • willbest

      Mvp

      • Huge Bears Penis

        Future HOFer!

  • Irish Sweetness

3rd down, here comes the 4 man rush …

  • willbest

    Oh course

  • willbest

    Good call? The fuck?

  • RenoBear

    Fuck these tick tack calls

  • madscout12

And our rushers were held the whole fucking time.

    • willbest

      Total bullshit

  • Irish Sweetness

    EDGE! EDGE! EDGE!

    • EnderWiggin

      Gut! Gut!

  • beninnorcal

That def holding on the 3rd down sack was ludicrous.

    • willbest

      Yep

  • beninnorcal

Karma. But field position was lost

  • Irish Sweetness

    See?

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

      1/3 on blitzes.

And that’s with a hobbled Vadgers.

      • EnderWiggin

I guess it is a good idea if the blitzer isn’t blocked.

      • BearDown100393

Grimus’ vet probably shot him up with Toradol.

      • Irish Sweetness

Keep hitting him. Buddy knew that. Hit them. Get burned a few times. Hurt the QB. Keep hurting him.

    • willbest

Dude and the two times it resulted in big plays for GB

      • Irish Sweetness

Circumstantial. Hit the mark and the drive is over.

        • willbest

Not when the refs are flag happy

          • Irish Sweetness

            home game.

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

There are no “away” games for the Puke.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

I like how the Puke haven’t drawn ONE flag yet, even at Soldier Field.

They must be perfect. Must be.

    • CanadaBear

Other than their OL holding constantly, their good!

  • willbest

    Challenge!

  • Irish Sweetness

    Wow.

  • EnderWiggin

    That ball hit the ground?

    • Irish Sweetness

looked good to me, but …

    • willbest

Not on the angles I saw

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

No replay will show Bellamy catch it.
      #bears

  • Irish Sweetness

    That’s how you blitz.

  • BearDown100393

    Bellamy hates playing football.

    • willbest

      That was a hard catch

      • BearDown100393

        Its a hard league.

      • madscout12

He’s supposed to make the hard ones and drop the easy ones. That’s his MO.

      • SC Dave

Which is why he should have had it.

  • SC Dave

We would not win a challenge v GB anyway.

    • willbest

He didn’t complete the process defender knocked the ball out

      • Irish Sweetness

Couldn’t complete the process because of the sideline. He had that going out.

        • willbest

Sideline is irrelevant if you are going to the ground you have to cone to a stop with the ball

    • BearDown100393

Probably not just lose the challenge but also get 15 yards unsportsmanlike for questioning a call involving the Packers.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

That’s a play Hoyer can not make.

    Great pocket presence by Barkley.

Keep saying it. Don’t need to run a 4.4 – just need a sense of the rush and instincts where to wiggle to extend play.

    • Irish Sweetness

Yeah he squirreled out the back door there, Cutty would just take the sack.

  • Irish Sweetness

    That was a good catch

    • EnderWiggin

It was knocked out during the process..

      • Irish Sweetness

Nope. It came out when he was about 5 yards into the benches …

        • EnderWiggin

Thanks to Moore/Johnson, that is part of the process.

          • EnderWiggin

            Or was that Peanut?

          • Irish Sweetness

            Oh.

    • BearDown100393

Only if it was Jordy Nelson.

  • madscout12

I swear, there better not ever be a holding call on our O-Line.

  • BearDown100393

Missed tackle. Missed tackle. Missed tackle.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

      Backup ILBs and half-inj McPhee

      • BearDown100393

McPhee’s mouth is mid season form.

        • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

          mouth pro bowler

    • SC Dave

And flagrant holding right at the point of attack

      • madscout12

They aren’t calling holding this game. New rule.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

kept saying Ty was their best HB even with Fat Eddie back there.

But Grimus was to stupid to realize it until now I guess.

    • BearDown100393

Grimus barely fits in his winter jacket. His arms hang like flippers.

  • Irish Sweetness

FAngio had Hicks drop into coverage there. Pure genius.

  • SC Dave

Is it possible for holding to be called on GB?

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

      nope

    • BearDown100393

      Perhaps if playing against Dallas.

  • willbest

    I like wilson

  • beninnorcal

Who the hell is CJ Wilson?

  • BearDown100393

CJ Wilson must’ve been found at the Piggly Wiggly. Pacebot scouts finally copying Belichick.

  • RenoBear

    Haha fuck you vadgers

  • beninnorcal

    Fuck these Packers.

  • CanadaBear

    Slow motion sack,

  • willbest

    Is that sack 5?

    • madscout12

There was one negated by penalty.

      • beninnorcal

        Which was bullshit.

        • madscout12

Vadgers still ended up on the ground, so…

  • EnderWiggin

Careful Erin, those tears will freeze.

  • beninnorcal

Rodgers isn’t moving around so well today. More sacks to come. Bears need a score badly

    • BearDown100393

Just keep dumping Erin into the turf. Even if it means 15 yards.

      • Irish Sweetness

Absolutely. Blitz the shit out of him and take the damage. All day. Fuckim,.

Remembering Martin. We owe it to them.

  • BearDown100393

Pack sacked despite at least 2 offensive holds.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Now screens. Let’s go.

    • CanadaBear

      No comment about Fangio?

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Who in the fuck is CJ Wilson?

He came shooting in a lil delayed and made Vadgers put the ball in his gut so McPhee could drag him from behind

McPhee also having a solid game. Contained two plays and now a sack.

    • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

None of this passing to no-hands shit.

    Feed Howard

    • willbest

Howard is being fed they are keeping him in check

  • willbest

So the trick with Thompson is to only play him in freezing weather

  • madscout12

Ya know, you can run after catching the ball, Bears.

  • BearDown100393

    GET ALSHON INVOLVED!

    • willbest

Thompson is the hot hand, don’t force it

      • BearDown100393

        Nice completion again right there.

        • BearDown100393

          And again.

  • beninnorcal

Nice couple 1st downs, but I hope Barkley knows that Alshon’s back

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

    Alshon still suspended I guess.

  • EnderWiggin

Thompson keeps spinning the ball after a first down. Wasn’t that a 15 yarder last year?

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Pass softening up that D for Howard.

  • CanadaBear

    Howard? Poked in the eye?

  • madscout12

Where’s our ticky tack holding call?

  • willbest

Every game there are 2-3 blatant miscommunication with the recievers I wonder who those are on

  • Irish Sweetness

    Wasn’t Meredith wide open there?

    • EnderWiggin

He stopped in the front of the zone. Barkley threw it to the back.

      • Irish Sweetness

He’s been good though. I like Barkley. Good under pressure. I like.

  • beninnorcal

I guess Alshon is playing decoy for Thompson?

    • Irish Sweetness

      #Where’s Alsho?

  • beninnorcal

Of all the places to look for Alshon, you’d think that last play would top the list.

  • BearDown100393

Virginia McCaskey looking older than ever.

    • beninnorcal

Well, technically, she’s now older than she’s ever been.

  • willbest

Lot of packers made the trip

Hey, a penalty on Pack. Xmas miracle!

  • Irish Sweetness

    So Jeff …

  • Huge Bears Penis

Arm strength does not seem to be a problem.

  • beninnorcal

Barkley is still looking solid. Never knew I’d be saying that at this point.

  • Irish Sweetness

Cam’s our #2 receiver, right Jeff?

    • SC Dave

I like Cam as our #2. Big step up from White.

      • Irish Sweetness

Not giving up on Kevin. Cam’s only in his second year, Kev will be better. Barkley, Shaw.

        Season of Destiny. Coming soon.

        • willbest

          White is broken

  • willbest

Barkley wins this he can be my QB 1 next year

  • Huge Bears Penis

  • beninnorcal

Barkley is making a strong case to be our dude for the foreseeable.

  • beninnorcal

Nice truck move on the TD

  • madscout12

Waits for the hands to the face call…

  • SC Dave

Bellamy looking like a fucking BEAR on that one

    • Huge Bears Penis

he looked like a real bear in the past several weeks. Have you ever seen a bear try to catch a football. They drop a lot of them

  • Huge Bears Penis

Now I want to see someone break Erin!

  • CanadaBear

POD having a day. Handled a bad snap!

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

TRUCK. That’s why Bellamy can’t catch, he’s been a RB all along!

That was a GREAT play call by Birdcage. The Puke stuffed the box expecting run, quick hit to Bellamy and he did the rest.

    • Doc Hamstring

Fangio has been making lemonade out of lemons all season. I think Birdcage is not getting the same credit, given how many different QBs, WRs, and OL combinations he’s had to suffer through.

  • beninnorcal

    Fuck these mustard-bottle-helmeted douchebags!!

  • Irish Sweetness

We’ll beat these fuckers. Receivers stepping it up … except for Alshon. And you know they’re bracketing Alshon all day.

Were not giving up the lead in the series. Not today. Not this year.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)
    • Huge Bears Penis

      LMFAO!!!

  • SC Dave

Barkley out playing Vadgers so far

  • beninnorcal

    Bellamy! Fuck!!

  • willbest

It would be 10-0 bears without the zebras

  • CanadaBear

    Bellamy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • beninnorcal

That was a nice pair of back to back plays for Bellamy

    • willbest

He has always been solid on st

    • madscout12

We can’t cut guys like him when they fail. He’s learning and has value on ST.

    • BearDown100393

POX must’ve waved his release form at him.

  • Doc Hamstring

    Bellamy is fired up.

  • beninnorcal

Huuuge hold onMcphee there that refs magically ignored

    • CanadaBear

Incredible. The guy almost went after him in the wide open.

  • Doc Hamstring

OK ref, not gonna call the buy pulling McPhee down right in front of you?

  • RenoBear

    No holding on McPhee… shocking

  • beninnorcal

This officiating thing is getting ridiculous for the beloved. So blatant.

    • madscout12

      Been that way for WEEKS!

      • beninnorcal

I’d argue years, but I admit some bias.

  • RenoBear

Had a whole fistful of the back of McPhee’s jersey

  • beninnorcal

Totally held from behind and even had time to wave his arms at the ref DURING the hold.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Fangio needs to start coaching our rushers to throw their hands up when their jerseys are being dragged down.

  • Irish Sweetness

It’s so obvious the NFL decides the Packers are going to the playoffs and the memo goes out.
It would be interesting to know what the officials are doing in Detroit and Minny’s games. Both losing.

  • Doc Hamstring

So let’s get this straight: push Rodgers a half-step after he throws the ball: 15 yards.
Pull a Bear d-lineman down right in front of the ref: shrug.
Head-to-head contact a Bear lineman: shrug.

  • madscout12

So many pack fans on my tv…not one less than 300 lbs

    • CanadaBear

      and that’s just the girls

      • EnderWiggin

Give ’em a break. The camera adds 10 pounds.

        • Irish Sweetness

,,, to each roll of fat,

        • Doc Hamstring

There must be like 20 cameras on each Packer fan.

      • madscout12

        You can tell sex?

  • beninnorcal

    Nice coverage, fuck you Rodgahhs

  • willbest

Got one back from the last one

  • Doc Hamstring

I don’t buy that the refs have it in for the Bears specifically, but there is a proven bias against teams in dark jerseys. It’s small, but it’s there.

When it comes to the Packers, though, I totally believe the league tells the refs to keep the “star” in the game.

  • Doc Hamstring

ILBs are getting swallowed up on blocks.

  • Irish Sweetness

Not sold on Grabowski just yet …. whiffy.

  • CanadaBear

Fucking Amos. Tackle the fucker. Quit trying to strip the ball.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Uncharacteristic bad angles and missed tackles by our D.

    • Doc Hamstring

Wonder if all the vaseline they’re using to keep their bare arms warm is hurting the tackling.

      • Huge Bears Penis

trying to strip the ball instead of tackling doesn’t help

      • Irish Sweetness

Can’t believe they’re not in sleeves. They should be under orders. This ‘iron man’ football is total bollocks.

  • Irish Sweetness

Tracy Porter. Whoever he covers is 711.

  • RenoBear

I’ll take it. But oh my gosh call a fucking hold !!!!!!

    • madscout12

      Pack don’t hold.

    • Irish Sweetness

Floyd went the wrong side on his blocker, Vadgers could nearly have run it in there.

    • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

the one right before the 2 minute warning, McPhee got tackled from behind while being pushed (from behind) in the opposite direction as Rodgers was moving.

      No call. Bullshit.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Gah, should have had that!

    • CanadaBear

      Fucking Fangio

  • Doc Hamstring

Not the first time a ball has slipped away from the Bush.

  • beninnorcal

Ugliest kick in the history of fg’s

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Bush, c’mon man, right in ur hands!

  • willbest

    Game changing facemask. No biggy

    • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

that is such a dangerous play

  • Irish Sweetness

    15 yards for McManis !!!

    FACEMASK!

    CUNTS !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Doc Hamstring

Add to what I said earlier.

So, Packers can facemask: refs are OK with that.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

      Blatant drag down one too

  • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

Tie game at halftime. I’ll take it.

    • Irish Sweetness

Before the game yes, that facemask …no.

  • Irish Sweetness

    This is bullshit.

There is NO WAY the officials didn’t see that. NO WAY.

  • Irish Sweetness

Thompson leading WRs with 6 catches.

    Mary to Cam please.

  • Huge Bears Penis

    Let’s get a PI call!

  • Irish Sweetness

Ty has 123 yards on the ground already.

    • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

basically the 2 huge runs. One he broke a tackle then had all day. Other he had nobody touch him for 15 yards.

      • Irish Sweetness

The book says 123 at halftime. There will be more huge runs.

        • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

          very possibly. He’s played well.

  • CanadaBear

Good lord, the announcers are starting a telethon for Erin.

    • SC Dave

And that is a surprise in what way…?

  • willbest

    Nice try

  • Irish Sweetness

    nice try.

  • Doc Hamstring

Barkley is like the middle ground between Hoyer and Cutler. Has a strong enough arm to make decent throws downfield, takes chances, but doesn’t think his arm can do everything.

Just imagine him getting an entire offseason of work. He could be a competent NFL QB. Imagine going into the draft not NEEDING a QB in the 1st or 2nd round.

    • Irish Sweetness

We have Connor Shaw too. I’m pumped. Draft that LT .. or be smart and trade down. We’re not getting Garrett.

But wait, he’s not under contract next season. We keep forgetting that. 31 teams are watching.

      • SC Dave

We need a RT more than LT imo, but either would do.

  • Doc Hamstring

Needed a little more air under that ball. I’m glad to see them make the effort, though.

    • Huge Bears Penis

still threw it farther than Hoyer could and it was in bounds.

  • EnderWiggin

Good lookin hail mary with all that pressure.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Yeah, Barkley might not have the Cutty Cannon, but he throws with velocity and can chuck it from multiple platforms like in that Hail Mary.

Barkley looks as sharp as he did his Junior yr at USC.

That’s a VERY good sign for the beloved.

      • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

if he keeps playing like this the last 2.5 games, I wonder what his next contract is going to look like.

He’d have a comparable (better?) resume to Brock Osweiler, who got paid big $$. But Barkley is doing it more low-profile because he’s not on a SB contender everybody notices. And his stats have been kept down by drops.

        • Irish Sweetness

He won’t be signed away for numbers … people are watching. He’ll cost us.

          (shrugs)

I’ll give him 15/year .. but where the fuck is Alshon?

Let Cutty get us a 1st/2nd .. and let Alshon test the market. people are watching AJ too .. .and he’s not done himself any favors this season. What has he got? One touchdown on the year?

          • Doc Hamstring

You get a starting QB, you pay him like a starting QB. I don’t know why people get so uptight about paying a guy, just because he’s a “journeyman.” If he works for us, and is good enough to win games, pay him like a decent NFL QB. By the end of his contract, he’ll be a bargain anyway (like Cutler ended up).

          • SC Dave

            This!!

          • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

If he’s not good, you’re stuck paying him big $$ (like Houston with Osweiler next year).

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Oz after next season can be released with lil cap ramification I think.

But will have to pay Barkley for first two years for sure if similar contract.

        • Huge Bears Penis

Remember he will be an RFA. So that will also help limit some outside offers, and we would only have to match.

          • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

didn’t realize that. I don’t know why he’s only RFA instead of UDFA. Has served the 4 years of his rookie deal.

But that helps a lot. Slap him with the 1st round tender and then highly unlikely anybody even makes him an offer.

          • Irish Sweetness

            SWEET!

          • Huge Bears Penis

this is only his 3rd year in league.

          • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

ah, missed that. 1st round tender is just under $3M, fully guaranteed. But then you basically have one year of evaluation before long-term deal or good leverage to get bridge (3 year?) deal for less money.

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

The Bears might try him out like the Skins with Cousins, but if he plays like this till end of season, no need IMO for another year.

Lock him up before he blows up like Cousins/Carr and demands more $.

Hoyer as #2 to mentor him.

Maybe a QB if one is available in the mid rounds (still have Shaw)

          • willbest

Class of 2013. But practice squad time so he doesn’t have 4 accrued seasons

          • Irish Sweetness

            Ahhh…..

          • Doc Hamstring

It’s a 1st-round pick to sign him away from us, right? That alone would be a huge deterrent (or bonus for us).

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Yeah, NO WAY a team is giving a 1st for a dude with only like 4 games to his resume.

If Bears are smart, they’ll lock up Barkley before he blows up next season to a very reasonable contract.

I think Barkley will play ball cuz he knows he was THIS close to being out of the league and the Bears gave him his shot.

At worst Barkley is a solid backup, so even if he sorta comes back to earth, we still should have a good QB on the roster for decent $.

          • willbest

            7 games

        • willbest

Somebody will probably offer him a 3yr 36 mil with 20 mil guarantee and we will be forced to match

          • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

if they want to do that and give up a 1st round pick, I’m ok with that.

          • Doc Hamstring

Then we say “no” and get their 1st rounder. NYJ will be picking high.

          • willbest

I would rather have Barkley than a 16-32 first rounder

      • Irish Sweetness

He has most of that cannon …. I just hope we’re talking to his agent.

        • willbest

We have right of first refusal on him

  • CanadaBear

    Colts 27-0 over the Queens.

    • Doc Hamstring

Fuck the Vikings. Fuck Detroit. Fuck the Packers. Let all the NFC North lose every game possible from here on.

      • SC Dave

We must win today. And Fetroit too. Then no fudge in the playoffs

      • Sauron’s right eyeball

        That’s a Lotta fuckin doc.

        • Doc Hamstring

Fuck ’em all and fuckin’ no regrets.

          (I’m a metalhead)

          • Sauron’s right eyeball

Regets? Oh yeah, life wouldn’t be complete without a few regrets.

    • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

Colts have a 21-2 edge in 1st downs at halftime. That’s brutal.

      • Doc Hamstring

Did you see that penalty on the FG attempt? Stupid Viking trying to be like Chicken Dinner.

  • Doc Hamstring

Here is the most important part of the game. Halftime adjustments. Both O and D have played well enough, but if Fox & Co. don’t adjust at halftime, we’re gonna get steamrolled in the 2nd half.

Hopefully Rodgers’ hamstring tightens up after standing around. Bears get the 2nd half kickoff.

  • SC Dave

Sitting at the bar with one Bears and three Packers fans. They are young, so I’m working to give them a proper perspective of The Rivalry.

It does not get better than this. It really doesn’t.

    • EnderWiggin

Dang man, we are going to have to hook up for a game next season. I wonder if there is a Packer bar between us.

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

    Hey NB? How’s Julio? Hahaha

  • Irish Sweetness

So this off-season we sign Barkley (and Shaw if he’s on a one year) … trade Cutty to Miami or NYJ.

Then we’re set at QB and have either two first round picks, or two seconds. Three picks in the first two rounds either way.

    #SOD

    • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

Shaw will also be a RFA. He’ll likely be back on essentially a camp tryout. 1 year, no guaranteed $$, minimum salary. Earn a roster spot.

      • Irish Sweetness

        (fingers crossed)

    • Doc Hamstring

Cutler’s coming off shoulder surgery and is on the wrong side of 30. Best we can hope for is a 2nd or a couple 3rds.

      • Irish Sweetness

The way Pace is drafting, a couple of thirds might be nice. Three third round picks? I’d take that.

        • Doc Hamstring

The way Pace is drafting, I’ll take 3 5th round picks.

    • CanadaBear

      Cutler will get released.

  • Doc Hamstring

Jeff hasn’t tweeted for a half hour. Think the lines at the trough are that long?

    • Huge Bears Penis

he is not at the game. he went to a bar.

      • Doc Hamstring

They don’t have piss-troughs at bars?

        • Huge Bears Penis

good point, but it’s usually not a half hour wait in a bar.

    • Irish Sweetness

He’s trying to figure out what he can say about Alshon after continuing to ignore Cameron Meredith being our best receiver.

  • willbest

Cutler got on the field somehow

    • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

you don’t have to placate guys like Butch with dumb comments like that WB.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Pam’s mams in cold Chicago.

    Nipples like fighter pilot’s thumbs.

  • Irish Sweetness

Once more ….. we need a left tackle.

    • ButtonShoes

      And a right tackle.

      • Irish Sweetness

I’d stick Leno on the right TBH …. but yeah, we’ll have the picks

        • ButtonShoes

I’d take Leno and Massie and do to them what it took way too long to do to Webb – kick their asses to the curb and get some real tackles.

          • Irish Sweetness

Yeah, fuck it, draft two OTs in the first three picks we have.

  • Doc Hamstring

    Fuck Peppers.

  • SC Dave

    Peppers. Smh.

    H
    Need the crowd right now

  • Doc Hamstring

    Return the favor, Lenny.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

    Hold the Barkley boat!

    • willbest

Bad things happen to Rodgers too

  • RenoBear

No holding or hands to face on bahktiari?

  • Irish Sweetness

Battle of the turnovers. Not looking good.

  • willbest

    Holding?

  • Huge Bears Penis

OMG, what is that? What does Holding mean?

  • CanadaBear

    It’s contageous,

  • Doc Hamstring

Think Adams got some vaseline on his gloves.

  • CanadaBear

Baktiari was holding the entire time

    • Irish Sweetness

But he’s the best there is according to this pair.

  • Doc Hamstring

    What the fuck was that

  • RenoBear

I can’t even watch this shit … the holding is atrocious

  • Irish Sweetness

What does McCarthy do here? He scores.

  • ButtonShoes

Anyone want to keep telling me LeBlanc is something useful? Adams is making him look stupid.

    • EnderWiggin

I really like LeBlanc, I hope he is our nickle next year.

    • Irish Sweetness

He’s young. Talented. He can stay. Porter is the liability in the secondary. He’s okay on the redzone stuff because they can’t sprint by him.

Davante Adams is a stud BTW.

      • madscout12

        Just shit for hands.

        • Huge Bears Penis

you know that does not matter for WRs

  • Irish Sweetness

Alshon wasn’t injured. There is no excuse for a guy looking for #5 money to be catchless against a team that can’t stop the pass.

    • willbest

Does Jeffery throw the ball to himself?

      • madscout12

        He is 0/1.

        • willbest

I know, but they don’t show if he is open or not

          • Irish Sweetness

            I literally haven’t seen him.

  • Doc Hamstring

Wait wait wait. Brian Cushing was nominated for a sportsmanship award? The guy who’s jacked up on PEDs?

  • Irish Sweetness

Can we confirm Alshon is playing?

  • Doc Hamstring

That’s not PI when Green Bay does it!

  • madscout12

Can you tackle a guy before the ball gets there now?

  • Irish Sweetness

That was terrible. That was vintage Cutty.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

      Yup.

    • Doc Hamstring

Yep. Either he was trying to throw the ball away and didn’t have enough on it, or Brown was supposed to be there, or… I dunno. It’s awful when the defender is closer to the ball than a receiver.

      • Huge Bears Penis

looked like it just sailed on him.

  • Irish Sweetness

    3 turnovers and counting.

    Draftwatch restarts …

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Can’t really count the Hail Mary.

    • willbest

      The hail marry doesn’t count

    • madscout12

      1 on him.

      HMs don’t count.

      • willbest

2 on him, strip sack and that one

        • Doc Hamstring

Blind-side strip sack with no time to set up? I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on that one.

        • madscout12

Blindside strip sack where his LT gets beaten like a drum? I think not.

      • Irish Sweetness

I mean as in Game Over. We don’t beat the Packers losing 0-3 on turnovers.

        • willbest

A hail marry int at the half is not a turnover

  • EnderWiggin

Dix using so much stick-um that he couldn’t even get the ball from his right hand to left hand.

  • Cubsnlinux

Matt Barkley sucks..looks passable to good when leashed

  • Irish Sweetness

Ah fuck, the holding on Brown …..

  • Doc Hamstring

Ahh, that’s it. Green Bay is allowed to do “subtle” holding on defense.

    • willbest

We got away with one on Nelson, but they have 2 now

      • madscout12

and about 12 holds on O-Line.

        • SC Dave

          At. Least.

    • madscout12

      Veteran move!

      • Doc Hamstring

Yep. Refs check a guy’s number of years in the league before they decide whether or not to throw the flag.

  • Doc Hamstring

    Time to break Aaron’s leg.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Maybe INT wasn’t as bad at 2nd glance. Holding prevented receiver from being at the spot.

    • Huge Bears Penis

      jeez Barkley apologists starting already?

      • willbest

It’s still on him there were 3 packers there, too many chances for bad things

        • SC Dave

The real problem was not seeing Alshon two steps behind his guy one on one on the ledt sideline. TD written all over that one

          • willbest

It’s somewhat common for new QBs to take a week to get on the same page with the #1 WR. Dez’s first game with Dak. Antonio brown last year was invisible with jones his first game. And a few others to make it something that happens

    • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

holy shit bro, your credibility is gone. it’s football, bad things happen sometimes when you’re trying to make plays.

      • EnderWiggin

lol, if that was Cutty, everyone would be losing their shit.

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

        I said maybe.

        Still looked high.

    • Irish Sweetness

Makes it worse! Should be our ball ….

  • willbest

    End of the run? What?

  • ButtonShoes

I don’t want to hear any more about how Loggains is some genius OC from Jeff or anyone else. You have a stud RB like Jordan Howard and you don’t want to give him the ball and establish the run? 7 carries for 22 yards. THAT’S IT?! Fuck you, Dowell. You and Fox can hit the unemployment line after today, and maybe we can give Vic Fangio a try at HC.

Oh, and let’s hear more about how Barkley is some sort of stud QB. You know, we always do this as Bears fans. Any time some QB off the scrap heap shows up in a game or 2, we’re ready to declare him the second coming of Joe Montana or Tom Brady. Even though all he’s done today is get the offense just 10 points, like he did last week. Has two interceptions to his credit today, though! Backup QB is his ceiling, if he’s lucky. He is not our future.

    • Huge Bears Penis

I don’t think anyone has declared Barkley as the second coming of anyone. If anything we are all in a wait and see approach.

      • ButtonShoes

I’ve seen enough. Draft a QB next year, please.

        • madscout12

And they should. Barkley should just be in camp to compete, is all.

        • Irish Sweetness

Why? That’s a terrible idea. Another development project that takes three years?
Shaw might be our starter next season, not Barkley. He might be better than Barkley.

They say Trubisky might be the only QB worthy of a first round pick. He’ll be gone before we pick anyway.

        • SC Dave

Bad idea. Wait for a good one

    • willbest

Howard has been stuffed. Or are you watching some other game?

    • Doc Hamstring

      1) And end-of-half HM interception is a joke. You can’t put that on him.

      2) No one’s calling him the second coming. We’re pleasantly surprised that he’s competent, especially considering the ST players he’s throwing to.

    • Irish Sweetness

GB are good against the run.

One INT was bad, one was a tipped pass on a HM that could just as easily have been caught by us. Nobody has called him a stud, but he doesn’t look bad, and we can sign him cheap because he’s a RFA.

This is all about next season. This season has been over for some time.

  • Doc Hamstring

Grabowski is looking McClellinesque today. Getting swallowed by blocks, over-running tackles, getting lost in coverage.

  • SC Dave

    The Bears are pussies

  • MB30SD

    Ridiculous

  • CanadaBear

Once again Amos tackles the ball.

  • madscout12

Can we have one play where their O-Line isn’t on our backs?

  • Doc Hamstring

When a converted WR is running you over, your ILBs are fucking up. Grabowski got swallowed by 63 on that TD.

    • Irish Sweetness

Ty has been running over everybody. He averages 5.2!

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

On that longer run by Tye, Timu missed and Kwiat with the bad angle.

That’s what happens when back up ILBs are in.

    • SC Dave

Where the fuck is Freeman? Next week?

      • madscout12

        Yes

      • Doc Hamstring

PED suspension is another week, I think.

        • willbest

No he got it 1 week after Jeffery

          • Doc Hamstring

Ahh. For some reason, I thought there was more time between them.

    • Irish Sweetness

Kwiat let one go for 36.

  • EnderWiggin

D needs a break. Now would be a good drive to feed Howard 5 or 6 times.

  • CanadaBear

time to take one to the house

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Time for the 2min Barkley drill. Gotta score points fast.

  • Doc Hamstring

If Jeff that tall, or has Hampton shrunk?

  • BuddhaJoe

Guys can’t tackle for shit and while I missed a few minutes, I haven’t seen Alshon targeted once. WTF are they doing out there?

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Alshon did have one bounce off his hands in the first half, but that’s about it.

      • willbest

A 1 yard pass that wasn’t going to be a first down, but he should have caught it

    • ButtonShoes

If this game doesn’t get Dowell Loggains fired, I don’t know what will.

  • Irish Sweetness

They’re just pulling away from us now …. like they do. Like the NFL want and need them to.

    • SC Dave

We are definitely playing against the zebras too. But fuck that. Win anyway!

  • SC Dave

    Lot of football left, boys.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Yeah, still in it, but def need a score here, even if only a FG

    • Irish Sweetness

      For the Packers ….

  • Doc Hamstring

So, halftime adjustments that GB is beating us on:

GB’s running game. They’re killing the LBs, getting linemen to the 2nd level.
Bear pass protection has not been as good in the 2nd half. Limited sample size, but hopefully Barkley gets some time to set and throw.

  • Irish Sweetness

Is that the first screen to Howard today?

  • Doc Hamstring

Oh, John Lynch, you can indeed hurt an AC separation worse. Yes, you can.

  • madscout12

I want to see us holding every play. Matthews rushes? There better be a bear dragging him down by the jersey. Pep? Hit his knees. Fuck these guys.

    • Doc Hamstring

I’ll subscribe to your newsletter, so long as Rodgers’ name is on that list.

    • BuddhaJoe

Nah, they’ll call it on us, not the Packers.

      • SC Dave

        That’s ok

  • willbest

    Man bellamy

  • Doc Hamstring

Meredith has good moves to get YAC

  • Irish Sweetness

    I SAW ALSHON!!!

    The Seventeen million dollar man!

  • willbest

    Wow Barkley, you sucking

  • madscout12

    Catch the fucking ball.

    • SC Dave

So far, Barkley trying too hard to make up for previous play fails.

Needs to let that shit go

  • SC Dave

    Cutler-like throw there

  • madscout12

    This fucking sucks.

  • Irish Sweetness

(Dives off the Barkley boat into freezing Lake Michigan)

    • EnderWiggin

      Its warmer there.

  • Doc Hamstring

So was there a “subtle” hold the refs let GB have that time, too, because a veteran did it?

  • willbest

That throw probably cost Barkley like 5 million over the next 2 years all by itself

    • Irish Sweetness

      Do-able.

We’ll see Fales out there by the end of the year now.

      • willbest

        No we won’t

      • EnderWiggin

Our coaches will never do that.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

    Is Cutler-itus contagious too?

    There u go kids, vaccinate

  • BuddhaJoe

You got Alshon out there and you keep targeting fucking Bellamy and the no-names? Fuckin’ A.

  • madscout12

Fuck it. Pernell, just rip Rodgers calf off

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

The D has played a decent game so far considering all the TOs.

the stats will prolly make them look a lot worse post-game.

If they play superhuman, maybe get a TO.

    • SC Dave

Except for the 25 missed tackles, you mean.

  • ButtonShoes

At least this game is showing all of you why Matt Barkley was available for the Bears to sign in the first place.

And why Dowell Loggains should be fired.

    • Irish Sweetness

Let’s just say excitement has been tempered.

My boy Fales is in the wings.

      • ButtonShoes

Might as well try Fales. Can’t hurt anything at this point.

  • beninnorcal

Matt Barkley’s new nickname is Icarus.

  • SC Dave

Our defense is a pile of pussies. That little Packer pos running them over like he is earl fucking campbell

  • beninnorcal

    Game over

  • willbest

Where did our run D go?

    • Irish Sweetness

I was wondering when Christine would have his coming out party.

      I should have known.

  • Doc Hamstring

Wait, Braverman gave up on the pattern? That’s gonna hurt his chances for the HOF.

    • Huge Bears Penis

Nope that was on Barkley. BRAVERMAN is a FUTURE HOFer and would not make a mistake.

  • Doc Hamstring

    Timu blew it.

And I’m outta here. My bourbon won’t drink itself.

  • willbest

I see the Bears restocked the quaaludes for half time.

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

It’s time for you dreamers out there to wake up. 3 pics, a lost fumble for Barclay’s Premiere and zero catches for Noshon.
    #forgettaboutit

    • Irish Sweetness

Yah, we said we’d see how he held up against a decent team … we’re seeing.

Still … Barkley/Shaw/Fales .. .we can find ttwo QBs in there. If we suck in 2017 … there’s a couple or three studs at QB entering the draft.

      • Sauron’s right eyeball

Lol. You Crack me up Irish. May Zeus smile upon you.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

    LeBlanc got runover too.

Well, it’s a try out for Barkley anyways, so might as well let him air it out in Dec.

  • BuddhaJoe

Can anybody fucking tackle on this team?

    • SC Dave

      No

      • Huge Bears Penis

Bellamy made a nice ST tackle earlier

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

    Isn’t JAX winning?

    #GarrettBowl

    • ButtonShoes

If we get Myles Garrett in the draft, this sucky year will have been worth it.

      • Irish Sweetness

We can’t. The Browns GM has a boner for him. They have Kessler and RGIII, so ….

        • ButtonShoes

Got to hope that the Browns are dumb enough not to take him.

  • ButtonShoes

This defense can’t tackle for shit. Fucking pathetic. And I’m supposed to think it has a future when the Peckers are running all over it?

    • Huge Bears Penis

find a new team to root for.

      • ButtonShoes

No, I’ll just continue to complain about how the team I root for sucks. Until it wises up and decides to stop sucking anymore.

        • SC Dave

          Shut the fuck up

          • Huge Bears Penis

I rarely agree with you Dave, but you make a very good point.

          • ButtonShoes

Nope! I’ll invite you to do so, however.

      • SC Dave

        So fucking this.

  • Doc Hamstring

Oh, and GB wins the halftime adjustments.

I’m done with Fox. Promote Fangio.

    • ButtonShoes

THANK YOU. Fox has never even heard of the words “halftime adjustments” before. Fucking fire his ass.

      • SC Dave

        Just stop it. Go away.

    • Irish Sweetness

Fangio? The guy who’s defense is getting pasted, and the guy that allows QBs …ALLOWS THEM .. to march up and down the field.

I am confounded by the love for Fangio … who has done NOTHING to qualify it.

He does not understand the principle of defense that the most casual ovservers of the game do.

      PRESSURE.

See GB blitzing? See how they make us put it up?

      We’re giving Rodgers 6 seconds.

  • Irish Sweetness

    (looks at watch)

So anyway …. Vader boards the rebel ship … and you’re thinking to yourself “Hey … that’s not the Tantive IV …” … the rebels are waiting in a dimly-lit corridor when a red saber is sparked. Then …

    • madscout12

      Fucking bad ass, it was.

    • EnderWiggin

Loved it. I told my wife months ago – If they do this movie right, it will end with a scene from you-know-who.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Go Pack Go chants at Solider Field.

    Hear that, Teddy? Ginny?

    • SC Dave

      No, they don’t

    • BearDown100393

Ted’s on his hands and knees under the owner’s table.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

    Does Fox think he’s ahead?

Why not get a play in before the 3rd ends?

    • willbest

      Cause pacebot wants Garrett

      • SC Dave

        But he cant get him.

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

      Because its friggin freezing.

      #mittwarmerz

  • willbest

    2nd throw to alshon

  • madscout12

It is like the same playbook every week. Our D gets held like new born babies but manages to keep the game close. Then they’re tired by the 2nd half cause the O can’t stay on the field.

  • willbest

    Happy Irish?

    • Irish Sweetness

      Nope.

  • madscout12

Fuck you, Massie. Fuck you, Leno.

Both of them better be gone next year.

  • Huge Bears Penis

Fast ball to the face mask!

  • SC Dave

    About 30 minutes too late

  • ButtonShoes

I wonder if the Bears press corp is going to let Fox get away with brushing off this loss in the postgame presser like he does every week. Maybe if they had the stones to ask him a tough question or 2, he’ll start to feel a tiny bit of accountability and pressure for the shitty job he’s done ever since he got here.

    • Huge Bears Penis

you need to chill a little, go take a walk in Englewood.

      • ButtonShoes

I’d rather watch John Fox fall down into an open manhole.

    • Irish Sweetness

      Jesus Christ!!

We led the league in players on IR .. what were you expecting??

  • Irish Sweetness

Game over … Enter the Alshon …

    • willbest

Game isn’t over if they score here

      • SC Dave

Done. Time to get a fucking call or two

  • EnderWiggin

I know Jeffery isn’t a top 5 guy. But we need to give him whatever he wants.

    • ButtonShoes

Yup. He’s the only actual WR we have.

      • Irish Sweetness

        @#$@%!

        • ButtonShoes

I know you think Meredith is our #1. HE AIN’T.

          • Irish Sweetness

Both statistically, and in reality .. he is.

      • Irish Sweetness

Why have you got that handle/avatar BTW?

  • BuddhaJoe

Wait, NOW they throw it to their best guy?

    • willbest

Birdcage probably gave Barkley the same orders he gave cutler in week 1. Except instead of feeding it to white, feed it to jeffery

      • SC Dave

Maybe. I would not be surprised if they told them to keep it away from Alshon until after the contract.

        • BuddhaJoe

I actually said that to the guys at the bar before the half. More targets for Thompson, rally?

  • madscout12

Hey, we have a #1 WR.

    • Irish Sweetness

      Named Cameron.

That’s Alshon’s SECOND TD this season. Go check out the totals for the real #1s ….

      • madscout12

Correction. We have a #1 who should accept a decent offer next year if he’s lucky to get one.

      • willbest

        Grow up

      • EnderWiggin

If Meredith is our #1 next year, I’ll become a Browns fan.

  • SC Dave

Guess Barkley got a little talking to.

  • RenoBear

    Boom

  • BuddhaJoe

    Gee waddaya know?

  • madscout12

How awesome would it be if they blew this lead.

  • RenoBear

You could tell Barkley was focusing on his release point that drive. Nice adjustment kid

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

savvy execution by Barley and Alshon.

Fake run, Alshon kinda lulls his route making the CB think it is a run, then sticks the slants. TD.

D has to make a stop now though. Somehow, someway.

    Floyd has been invisible too.

    • SC Dave

Being held every play will do that

  • BuddhaJoe

Yeah, Howard and Jeffery are your best guys, so let’s ignore them for 80% of the game. Jesus, fire Loggains already. And Fox while they’re at it.

  • ButtonShoes

Look at what happens when you actually decide to throw the ball to the only good WR you have. Seriously, Dowell Loggains needs to be fired after this game ends, no matter what happens.

    • RenoBear

Dude seriously… you only show up on game day and bitch about a 3-10 team rebuilding… get bent man, why the hell you bother watching?

    • Irish Sweetness

HE’S HAD TWO FUCKING CATCHES THE WHOLE GAME!!!

      • ButtonShoes

He might have more IF THEY THREW THE BALL HIS WAY!

        • willbest

Irish assumes Jeffery is 100% covered if the ball isn’t thrown at him

  • BearDown100393

    #BirdCage

  • SC Dave

    How about a turnover finally?

    • Irish Sweetness

Only way Vadgers will turn it over is if we blitz the shit out of him.

      No-Balls thinks a blitz is when a 3-4 team sends a linebacker.

Still .. Fangio will guarantee us the highest draft pick possible, so there’s that ….

      • willbest

        You are quite the contrarian.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Isn’t Barth 3/3 on onsides this yr, including one they robbed us of?

    Hmmmm

  • willbest

We need to win this because otherwise GB is back in the division hunt

    • ButtonShoes

We need to win this because fuck the Peckers.

    • Irish Sweetness

More importantly they would equal the all-time series score. Can’t let that happen.

  • madscout12

I’m not a jewelry buying guy, but why the hell does everything they hock on tv look like utter garbage? Do people actually buy those shitty hear collections? Do people buy the crap from Zales? Thank god my wife wanted knives for Christmas last year.

    • Huge Bears Penis

are you sure it’s good that your wife wanted knives for Christmas?

      • madscout12

Had them for a year and nothing yet.

        • Huge Bears Penis

good- just looking out for ya.

      • Irish Sweetness

That’s what I thought. I only sharpen them because I want it to be quick.

        • Huge Bears Penis

          good advice.

  • Huge Bears Penis

Damn McPhee- you should have put knee on that hammy or calf getting up.

  • CanadaBear

We all saw Alshon on that drive Irish

  • willbest

I love whipping Rodgers to the ground like that

    • Irish Sweetness

Oh the ground is hard too … please pull him out …. is Hundley good?

    • ButtonShoes

It’s even better when he gets a game-ending injury. Because fuck him.

    • BuddhaJoe

Should’ve broken his ass. He’s one of the only guys who’s such a dickbag I wish injury on him.

      • Huge Bears Penis

naw his ass is probably used to being pounded hard.

        • BuddhaJoe

          Obligatory NTTEWWT here.

  • BuddhaJoe

    McPhee!

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

    Of course penalty on us.

Refs gotta stop Bears momentum for the Puke

NVM them holding the entire game.

    • BuddhaJoe

Yeah getting sick of watching pass rushers get dragged down without a penalty.

  • Irish Sweetness

Don’t get clever Dowell, just feed it to him ….

  • Irish Sweetness

Did Loggains think – first half … use AJ as a decoy ???

  • Irish Sweetness

    FLAAAAG!

  • EnderWiggin

Blatant head shot from H-Dix. wtf?

  • Irish Sweetness

    Bad hit on BArkley

  • Huge Bears Penis

    HOWARD!!!!

  • Irish Sweetness

See Carey move AWAY from the gut blitz???

  • CanadaBear

    NICE

  • RenoBear

    BEARS!!!!!!

  • willbest

    Bears got this

  • Irish Sweetness

    YES!!!!!

Can’t win this without a takeaway though …..

    • Huge Bears Penis

sure we can. just need a stop

    • EnderWiggin

I’d say a 3 and out would work. But what is that?

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

    Who is this team?

  • willbest

Barkley needs to just run 2 minute offense the whole game

  • CanadaBear

HOward put the Ha-ha on Dix at the GL

  • BuddhaJoe

Wait, you mean you should give it to your best guys? No way!

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Alshon with a great block there, and Sitton and Whitehair.

Howard doing his thang and bulldozing

  • Irish Sweetness

    Interception now, let’s go.

    BLITZ. THE. VAGINA.

  • ButtonShoes

SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GIVE THE BALL TO HOWARD?

    • Irish Sweetness

      Defense getting tired now.

    • CanadaBear

Lots of passes to ALshon to get 8 out of the box

  • Irish Sweetness

Need to bracket Davante and get Hall in there to press Nelson.

    BLITZ. BLITZ. BLITZ.

  • BuddhaJoe

Now bring the heat, our guys can’t cover long enough.

  • ButtonShoes

Everyone’s saying Floyd’s going to be a monster. Well, it’s time for him to show it. Get in there and destroy Aaron Rodgers.

  • CanadaBear

Looks like the Loins are going down

    • willbest

      Giants are legit.

  • willbest

    Timu

    • SC Dave

One play John… ficking good time for it!

  • Irish Sweetness

Now that was a blitz …..

    But we’re entering Barth-time ….

  • RenoBear

Holy shit another 3 and out.., bad ass

  • CanadaBear

Nice PR. Tackled by the 19 yard line

    • willbest

It’s been worse this year, I will take this

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

      Just glad he didn’t fumble.

  • EnderWiggin

Watch out for that hash mark LeBlanc. lol

  • willbest

    Run it twice

  • SC Dave

    Make this happen!!!

  • EnderWiggin

That option is fooling no one. Keep it next time.

  • willbest

Shit, Thompson has been having a game

    • Huge Bears Penis

that looks like just a cramp

  • ButtonShoes

There are only two games that are must-wins every year, Bears. Both of them are against this pile of evil shitbags from Green Bay. FUCKING WIN THIS.

    • SC Dave

Still want to fire Loggains amd Fox?

      • ButtonShoes

Absolutely. It took him getting clowned to start giving the ball to Howard and Jeffrey? I want his ass gone.

    • Huge Bears Penis

then fire everyone and cut all the QBs, tackles, and WRs.

  • SC Dave

    Alshon for the winner!!

    • Irish Sweetness

Cam will be open, they’re looking at Alshon now … sneaky one to Dan Brown?

      • SC Dave

        Whoever is good!!!

  • Irish Sweetness

Let’s not put this at Barth’s feet ….

  • BearDown100393

    Thompson’s got a leg.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

To go with Royal toe and Wilson foot and White everything.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Gotta milk that clock too. Don’t want Vadgers in the 2min drill vs up-down D and crowd too cold to make noise.

  • BuddhaJoe

Barkley’s not rattled after that horrible quarter, gotta give him props.

  • SC Dave

    There was the Cam chance.

    • EnderWiggin

      Blew it.

  • willbest

    2 runs

  • BuddhaJoe

    Run the fucking ball!

    • willbest

No doubt get rid of the clock

  • Irish Sweetness

We might have a bunch of #2 WRs ….. that might be the thing.

    • willbest

I am glad there is an ocean between us sometimes

  • Huge Bears Penis

Langford lowering the shoulder. Love it!

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

      Just glad he’s wrapping up!

  • Irish Sweetness

No field goals. Set this up for Jordan.

A great victory is just within reach.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

    C’mon Bears.

    No fuck ups.

Finish with TD. Keel the Puke.

  • Irish Sweetness

Wait .. Howard is hurt ????

    • willbest

      Warming up maybe

      • Irish Sweetness

Jeff tweeted injury, but he;’s likely very drunk by now.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

They’re spelling him more than usual.
      Some Carey and Langford

    • Huge Bears Penis

      doesn’t look hurt!

  • SC Dave

Goddamnit… it this what this rivalry is supposed to be or fucking what!?

    • Irish Sweetness

And we can go TWO AHEAD in the series!!!!

  • SC Dave

    Bear the fuck Down

  • willbest

    Howard doesn’t look hurt

  • CanadaBear

    I think Howard is OK

  • willbest

Probably just managing his health more for the cold

  • Irish Sweetness

Yes, Jeff is drunk. Howard’s fine … and so much for killing the clock.

  • willbest

    Fucking clock stops

  • Irish Sweetness

    Fucking balls!!!!!!!!!

  • willbest

The only few owe us like 15 holds

  • Irish Sweetness

I though Jordan score a TD there???

  • madscout12

They haven’t called holding all game and they call it now?

    • willbest

      They got the packers once

  • BearDown100393

Jordan Howard’s gotta little Walter heart beating in his chest.

    • Irish Sweetness

He has a T-Shirt with his daddy on his heart …

  • Irish Sweetness

    NO. MORE. PASSES.

  • willbest

    Run it again

  • Irish Sweetness

    Run slant left.

  • willbest

    Fucking cam

    • Irish Sweetness

Has kept us in this game …

      • willbest

Nah been dogshit. Jeffery got his td pass. Cam blows

        • Irish Sweetness

I don’t know what you guys are watching .. he’s got the best hands on the team. Second best might be Bellamy’s!

          • Huge Bears Penis

            troll away!

  • Irish Sweetness

Who was that guy running onto the field???

  • willbest

    Should have run it

  • Irish Sweetness

(standing ovation and smiles for Conor Barth)

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Announcer: will Fox go for it?

Plz. We all know that answer.

  • Malice Halice

    Feed Howard

  • BearDown100393

    SMH

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

1:19 is more than enough time.

If they weren’t gonna go for it on 4rth, should’ve run it

    • willbest

      Yeah

    • Irish Sweetness

      This is Vadger’s business.

      BLITZ!!!

    • willbest

Pass was fucking stupid not milking 45 s

      • madscout12

        #Birdcaged

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

I could understand IF they thought they had two shots.

But if u know b4 hand ur going FG, absolutely stupid.

    • Irish Sweetness

      100%

      Terrible mistake.

  • madscout12

Fucking Packer DB was grabbing all over him. Guess you don’t hold if you wear a Packer Jersey.

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

Can’t believe we aren’t winning. Rats

  • BearDown100393

    #BirdCage

    That was Howard’s game ball.

    • ButtonShoes

It was the easiest decision in the world to give the ball to Howard. And they didn’t.

  • Irish Sweetness

    AND. BLITZ.

  • EnderWiggin

4ever may have called it with too much time on the clock. Possible deep ball = interference = FG…

  • Huge Bears Penis

Kwiatowski sniffs out those screens fairly consistently.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Good angle there. Great splitting the blockers. Could’ve been a big play

  • Irish Sweetness

    AND BLITZ AGAIN!

    • CanadaBear

If kwit blitzed that last play they gain 20 yds

  • Huge Bears Penis

    Pick 6!

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

Not using the fullback and pounding Howard on the goal line was laughable playcalling. Laughable

  • Irish Sweetness

Yup. Ty averaging 10 YPC ….

    • Malice Halice

I keep hearing our dB unit has depth tho

  • BearDown100393

This game has to be coached to win instead of not to lose.

  • EnderWiggin

Free time out from their crappiest lineman…

  • willbest

    Of course

  • BuddhaJoe

Where the fuck was the holding call!?

    • EnderWiggin

      /chuckle

    • Huge Bears Penis

same place it’s been all game. in the ref’s pocket

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Where the heck was the S?
    Jesus

  • Irish Sweetness

Do you now see the ball-lessness of Vic Fangio?????

    BULLSHIT!!!!

    NO BALLS!

THIRD DOWN AND RUSHES THREE MEN!!!! YOU’RE BLIND!!!!!!!!

    • willbest

Why aren’t you chewing out your DB that you have a hard on for

    • Malice Halice

      J. Fischer coming to replace?

  • Irish Sweetness

WHERE THE FUCK WAS A BASIC FOUR MAN RUSH!!!!!!!!

Football IQ my ass … he was given all day.

    FUCK FANGIO!!!!

  • madscout12

Where was the 10 second runoff for a injury timeout with no TOs?

    • willbest

      They did it

      • EnderWiggin

        No, they didn’t.

        • willbest

It was at 46 instead of at 56

  • BearDown100393

    This is on #BirdCage 100%.

    • willbest

      Yep

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Like I said, Bears find new ways to lose.

Add blown coverage to the long list of fuck-ups.

    • willbest

      Shit clock management

      • Irish Sweetness

        SHIT DC!!!!!!!!!!

  • madscout12

    Fucking horseshit.

  • ButtonShoes

We have no secondary. At all.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

The S just let Jordan run right by him.

LeBlanc was lucky that wasn’t a TD pass.

      • willbest

Leblanc should have pushed jordy in for the td

        • Irish Sweetness

NO!!!! FANGIO SHOULD HAVE SENT THE FUCKING HOUSE … NOT THREE TIRED MEN!!!! JESUS!!!!

    • Irish Sweetness

HE WAS GIVEN ALL DAY TO THROW!!!

      JESUS CHRIST YOU’RE ALL BLIND!!!!!

  • Irish Sweetness

Vic Fangio … in one play .. .allowed the GB PAckers to even up the all-time series.

Nobody can tell me that Vic Fangio isn’t a total and clueless cunt.

HC my ass … he’s a fucking terrible DC. 500 yards offense for GB today? Nearly two hundred on the ground for a WR??

    • Malice Halice

A MUTHAFUCKIN WR bro! We should’ve knockin da wind out his chest every play.

  • Huge Bears Penis

just need some corners that can cover.

  • madscout12

I’m fucking tired of losing to these fucks. They were gifted 13 points at least today. And we get a holding called on us in the red zone when they held ALL FUCKING DAY! Fuck the NFL.

  • Irish Sweetness

And somebody on this board cheered that FG …

  • MB30SD

    That was utterly soul crushing

    • Irish Sweetness

      VIC. FANGIO.

He’s been killing us all year. He’s the problem. not Fox.

      • MB30SD

        Dude, are you kidding me?!?!

He has fucking #22 to work with. They should fire that fuck right now.

We have 3rd and 4th stringers at literally every position dude. We lost in the last 20 seconds… By 3

      • madscout12

His defense, despite the last play, played admirably. Despite being held all day. Despite calls going against them. Despite the O doing nothing in the 1st and 3rd Quarters.

They’ve been the best thing about this team this year.

        • Irish Sweetness

No. Last play. WE KNEW THEY HAD TO PASS.

THREE MAN RUSH. THINK FOR yOURSELVES!!!

  • willbest

This loss stings. Run with Howard maybe score, but at least give Rodgers 35 seconds to win in regulation. Nope give him 1:20

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

I hope to god this is some Machiavellian shit by Fox to get higher picks cuz if not we’re in for another LOOOONG season next year.

      Truly baffling.

      • MB30SD

        Don’t agree… At all.

If we can play these fucks this close with the fucking JV… Arrow’s up debbie

        • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

But Fox’s horrible in-game decisions aren’t gonna go away, and he’ll get totally outcoached by good ones.

I mean, I don’t get not running it on 3rd and goal the way Howard was running behind a good oline vs tired D.

Instead, throw it to some scrub and give Vadgers a free 45+ secs.

          • MB30SD

Dude, you know my take on weekend at Bernie’s.

I love jack del Rio… Dude just goes for it. We should have gone on that 4th.

You don’t leave Erin 120 on the clock and expect to win.

  • BearDown100393

    #BirdCage is dead to me.

    • Irish Sweetness

You give Fangio a pass on that?

The most crucial play of the game and you rush three?

      • BearDown100393

No I don’t. But to not give Little Walt the ball was downright criminal.

      • Malice Halice

Sign of no faith in coverage.

  • BuddhaJoe

I’m about fucking done with the NFL. It’s obvious the shit is rigged against their “favored” teams. I’m sicked of watching our pass rushers get dragged to the ground without a call and then watching ticky-tack shit get called on us. It’s blatant bullshit and they seem to have no inclination to fix it.

    • madscout12

All game. They let them play all game. Until we’re at their 2 yardline, and they call us for some ticky tack shit.

      Fuck the NFL.

      • BuddhaJoe

Porter could barely put a hand on a guy without getting called and you could see how it affected him, he started giving them huge cushions instead of jamming them because he couldn’t without getting called.. But Floyd or McPhee could literally get dragged to the ground and they wouldn’t call shit. It’s happened a lot this season and it’s fucking bullshit.

        • SC Dave

          So this

    • Irish Sweetness

Nah, all we had to do was blitz Vadgers on that play.

      Fangio is clueless.

      • MB30SD

        Smh

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Fangio has probably limited Vadgers the most of all the DCs in the NFL, going back the the 9ers.

That last play sucked. The S was playing the sidelines assuming they wouldn’t throw 60 yds. He was wrong.

Whether that was designed or not – we’re going to find out.

        • BuddhaJoe

And the rusher was blatantly held and they didn’t call it.

          • SC Dave

            All day long

      • SC Dave

Less clueless than you by a uuuuuuge margin

  • willbest

Leblanc should have allowed the TD. I will take Barkley with 2 TOs and 30 seconds over a blocked FG any day

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

No way some street player is gonna be that smart.

  • willbest

Irish you are legit the only person that hates Vic, the rest of us have wanted him as interim HC

    • Malice Halice

We should’ve sent the house tho. Not a 3man rush

      • willbest

Result would have been a wide open somebody for lots of yards

        • MB30SD

          Yup

        • Malice Halice

          Lesser of 2 evils man

          • SC Dave

Wrong. They had plenty of time

      • Irish Sweetness

Thank you. It’s beyond obvious. We’re the ONLY team in the NFL that does this shot.

Crucial play? Game in the line?

Just give a great QB all day to make sure he finds an open receiver down field.

If you blitz, then guarantee he can’t do that and has to go short or get sacked or throw it away.

        • Malice Halice

Our dB r too shitty to rely on man coverage. Theyre not Seattle or Denver who can contain wr’s for 8 seconds or more. Disrupt the qb n we didn’t. Our defensive issues is lack of aggression. I’d like to see Rex take his job as DC.

          • Huge Bears Penis

OH JESUS!!! Stop that talk of Rex right now.

          • Malice Halice

No Rex as HC but DC ,our guys need a spark.

          • Huge Bears Penis

            NO.

          • Malice Halice

Mane u trippin. We need some of dat Buddy blood back on D

          • Huge Bears Penis

the Ryan gene pool degraded with his kids. The two idiot brothers have been living off that name for years.

          • SC Dave

Actually, every sack today was a coverage sack

          • willbest

            Pretty sure 2 weren’t

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

except for the corner blitz, think you’re right

      • Big Mike

No. Rarely do teams blitz in the situation the bears were in

    • Irish Sweetness

      But why Will?

He hasn’t got the brains to sendf the house on third down!

He can’t call a defense and you want him as a HC?? Why? HC is a man-management job, he hasn’t even got a basic grasp of defense!!!

Howard’s non run on 3rd aside … Vadgers should have been on his back instead of being ALLOWED to throw a 60 yard bomb.

      • willbest

He is playing with scrubs and the Bears are the 3rd or 4th worst offense in the league. He isn’t a magician

        • Huge Bears Penis

3rd or 4th worst? we are 7th best in yardage and 15th in points scored. All while playing with scrubs, Fangio IS a fucking magician.

          • MB30SD

            Bingo!!!

        • SC Dave

The Bears are right in the middle of the league in all offensive stats execpt scoring.

And much of that is because we get no takeaways.

          • willbest

Actually now that Barkley is under center we are regularly clearing 20 ppg

        • MB30SD

Exactly. It doesn’t go any farther than almost every single position is being played by a 3rd and 4th stringers.

Do you honestly need more of an explanation that that Irish???

          Come on dude

          • Big Mike

I liked what I saw today.

          • MB30SD

            As did I sir

          • Big Mike

The weaknesses were the ILBs. Both Kwiatkowski and Timu made plays, but they are largely responsible for the 150+ yards given up to the Receiver/RB. The play call that left Leno 1 on 1 with Peppers, when there was a 7 step drop. Peppers has made a lot of guys look bad. Safeties. @MB30SD:disqus can you tell me what coverage leaves their best receiver 1 on 1 on a post? If its tampa 2, there should be help. If its quarters nobody gets deeper than the FS. If its a 3 deep zone, same. There was a crossing route underneath but still. WTF happened there. It’s like the Bears were missing a guy.,

          • MB30SD

3rd and 4th stringers Linebackers sucks… Abject dogshit dbs killed us. Turrible

          • Big Mike

Kwiatkowski has promise. I forgot he was a rookie

          • MB30SD

4th or 5th rounder too (can’t remember which)

          • Irish Sweetness

Floyd isn;t injured!!!! Send Floyd. Send Pernell!!!

A three manfucking rush when you KNOW he has to pass it hail mary style!!!

            It beggars belief!!!

          • MB30SD

It’s Erin Rodgers for fuck sake man… That’s just asking for a TD not a 50 yarder

        • Irish Sweetness

Irrelevant. All he had to do was send 5 men. 5.

    • Irish Sweetness

      I honestly don’t think y’all understand pressure.

  • SC Dave

Today, I officially join the Fire Fox bandwagon. 3-10, 4th and goal, and ypu kick the fucking field goal.

Knowing, after watching ALL FUCKING DAY LONG, that ANY amount of holding by the GB oline will NOT BE CALLED, and you want to give Vadgers the ball.

    Inexcusible.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

      Welcome aboard!

Been driving that wagon since week 3.

It’s getting a lil crowded now though

      • SC Dave

In Week 3, we were not 3-10. It makes a difference.

        • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

I saw the same shit carry over from last season though.

Zombies coming out to play. Horrible gameplan. Even worse in-game decisions and half-time adjustments.

Took them a Langford and Cutler inj to finally figure out Hoyer/Howard were better options, etc etc

10 games later, unfortunately I was right.

And I don’t see how Fox can magically transform himself

          #albinoLovie

    • BuddhaJoe

I’m with you, but at the same time what are you gonna do? Halas himself couldn’t deal with refs that won’t call holding when your pass rush is getting dragged to the ground.

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Fox could’ve commanded Birdcage to run it and leave Vadgers with like 20 secs

Like an actual HC should do.

        • SC Dave

Or, get the FUCKING TD where a FG was not good enough.

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

            Yup.

      • SC Dave

That’s EXACTLY my point, Budda. The only option was to get the TD.

    • Big Mike

No. Separate from the emotion of losing to the fucking packers. This team is getting close. This year sucks. Players need to make plays.

      Bears had 4-5 sacks.

      • BuddhaJoe

I didn’t blame the refs until last week, but they should’ve had about twice that. This week and the Lions game they were getting screwed.

Not that this team should be great or anything, but they’ve been getting fucked.

        • SC Dave

Today was much worse than last week.

      • Irish Sweetness

Not when it counted, Mike. Instead of a sack, Fangio DECIDED that Aaron could stand there all day. You send the house hand he has to get rid of it on a slant with all the DBs in front of the play.

There is literally NO ARGUMENT for rushing 3. NONE.

The game came down to one play, and we did the EXACT OPPOSITE of what should have been done.

Not we, Vic Fangio .. and he’s been doing it all year.

        • Big Mike

Yes there is.  They just executed horribly.  Teams almost always rush 3 and drop 8 in that situation.  You trade yards for time.   AND NOBODY GETS DEEP.  WTF Get Outlook for iOS

          _____________________________

          • Irish Sweetness

No. Only when you are two score ahead. We couldn’t afford to trade yards there, all the needed was a FG,

You send more than they can block and there’s no way Rodgers hits that – in all probability.

          • Big Mike

There were 70 seconds left.  They had no timeouts.  Keep everything in front. Of you give up 10 -15 yards a play and nothing outside.  Ball game. Pressure there on 1st and 10 isn’t the right call.

            Get Outlook for iOS

      • SC Dave

Yeah, it’s emotional Mike. But my point remains the same. The Packers held ALL DAY LONG with impunity, and somehow people think (Irish) that rushing more guys would have led to any result other than MORE Packers getting away with holding.

The ONLY RATIONAL RESPONSE was to go for the TD on the last drive, and take the lead. NOTHING else made sense.

        • Big Mike

I’ve played O-Line and coached it for the better part of 25 years. I didn’t see anything to get worked up about. They weren’t calling the Bears either. Maybe 1? But I have to be honest, I wasn’t focusing on watching the o-line. None of the guys I was with got on fire about the lack of holding calls against the Packers today. Not saying it wasn’t there, but usually one of us gets on a topic like that and we all watch for it. I still like what I saw today. If there were holding penalties not called, one more reason to hate the Packers.

    • Irish Sweetness

The only thing I blame Fox for is relinquishing play-calling. A HC should be in charge of his team, certainly at the crucial points of the game.

A multi-billion dollar organization should never be in the hands of morons like Loggains or Fangio.

Loggains alone should understand that we could not stop the clock. They didn’t need to burn a timeout after the incompletion on third down. Jordan might have usually scores from that distance, anywhere from ten yards in.

Fangio has no other recourse on third down than to pressurize Rodgers into getting rid of it. He MUST send more than three, at the very least have a man deep. Under no circumstances should a WR be behind our safeties….

If EITHER co-ordinator calls either play – that the most casual observe can see .. then we comeback from 17 points down, go two ahead in the series … and put a dent in the GB party.

      Srgue with any of that.

      • SC Dave

Fox decided on the FG. End of story.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

I do agree with Irish on one issue – I hate only rushing 3. Just gives too much time. Hate that and the Lovie-prevent just on principle.

    Esp when Vadgers is hobbled.

The whole point of only rushing 3 is having an extra coverage guy, and what happens?

Jordy vs street jag one-on-one 60 yds down field.

    • MB30SD

      Dude….

Our DBS are fucking TURRIBLE… And it’s vadgers

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

        agree but

        Two deep Safeties.
        You know the rules.

        NO ONE SHOULD GET BEHIND.

They blew it. Only question is why –

        • Huge Bears Penis

why? go look who is playing safety for us, that’s why.

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

It might not have been on the S

If Fangio told the safeties to cheat towards the sideline, that’s on Fangio.

If Fangio told them to protect the deep ball, including middle, then that was on the S for blowing it.

Like I said, should find out post-game what the coverage call was.

          • Irish Sweetness

He should have sent the house .. whatever way you slice it up Fangio is the cancer.

          • Bender McLugh

            Hahahahah

        • Malice Halice

Wasn’t da insurance guy playing with a bad calf. Or was dat just talk

        • MB30SD

Because number 22 was cleaning store rooms at Hardee’s last week

          • Huge Bears Penis

if you look closely you will see that they just put a patch for his name over what used to say Forte. Bears did not even bother ordering a custom jersey for him.

        • Irish Sweetness

That too, wtf were they doing? All about zone at that point.

        • MB30SD

Calling coverages made for real football players to use real NFL skill sets.

Hardly any of our DBS have these

      • Irish Sweetness

You can’t cover everyone when the QB is standing there unchallenged, MB. You dshould know that having played safety. I played safety too, but you don’t need to have played football to see the obvious.

Loggains last call was terrible. That should have been a hand-off to our best player. Maybe we even get the TD, which means GB need a TD.

Fangio’s last call was let Rodgers stand in there all day on the one play of the game you had to pressure him.

Both co-ordinators need to go. We just allowed GB to even up the all-time score .. make the playoffs and beat us 12 million times in a row. This is a terrible, terrible loss, because we were down 17 and should have won that.

        • Huge Bears Penis

Seriously who gives a flying fuck about the all-time record between the Bears and Packers?

          • Irish Sweetness

            Fans.

          • Huge Bears Penis

before they posted the all time record today I would bet my right testicle that over 95% of fans did not even realize how close the record was.

          • SC Dave

            me

        • MB30SD

You’re flat wrong on Fangio.badly wrong.

I’m with you on loggainis… But we need a KNOWN entity to replace.

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

I don’t have a hard-on for Birdcage, but he has proven to make borderline starters look very good (Hoyer-Barkley – even Shaw in PS).

That shouldn’t be taken for granted (look at Cutler without Gase).

Given how important the QB position is, gotta give Birdcage some credit for that.

Also gotta remember this is essentially his first year as OC.

If we bring in another OC to overhaul system, we might get the fucked up versions of Barkley/Hoyer.

    • willbest

The two DBs/LBs defending open field should have been rushing. Yes. It’s always RPS with vadgers. Except he wins on a tie

      • Irish Sweetness

That’s where not handing it off to the Howard train on 3rd down .. when we also needed to keep the clock going .. killed us.

I can see Loggain’s cranial peanut thinking “they’re EXPECTING me to hand it to Howard and keep the clock going…so I’ll do the opposite crazy thing .. and throw it!”

    • SC Dave

Actually, it would not have mattered one iota. There was going to be a completion, or 60 yard PI call, on that play no matter what. Nelson could have pushed down three DBs covering him, and it would have been ok.

      Vegas had spoken.

  • willbest

Alright, I want DBs in rounds 1 & 2 this year and pay berry whatever he wants

    • Huge Bears Penis

we got the cap space there has to be a couple decent CBs FAs to hedge our bets in the draft.

    • Malice Halice

      Fuck yea

    • SC Dave

Our DBs are turrible. Maybe we could keep Callahan.

      • Irish Sweetness

Neither LeBlanc, Hall, Amos or HJQ ar terrible, Dave. Not one of them.

        • willbest

Which is why you are convinced it’s Vic bc otherwise the cognitive dissonance would destroy you

        • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Pretty sure they were all burned badly today.

Only thing that made secondary seem better were bad Jordy/Adams drops.

        • Huge Bears Penis

All of those guys are terrible, they only flash on a play every once in awhile. Our DBs are a shit sammich of talent.

  • RenoBear

Why the hell did fox decline the ten second runoff? Did he really want to stop them and keep that 10 seconds for us to move the ball 50-60 yds?? So unlikely… the pack had ZERO timeouts left! Take the ten seconds away from them!!!! Fuuucccckkk

    • willbest

Why didn’t he fucking run it on 3rd at the goal line?

      • RenoBear

        That too…

    • SC Dave

      Paid by Vegas?

  • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

Can we talk for a second about how shitty the Packers are?

They win the turnover battle 3-0, rush for 10 yards per carry, and still need a last-second field goal to beat a bad team on their 4th string QB with >40% of their salary cap on IR.

    That’s embarrassing.

    • RenoBear

It is… and their homer fans think they’re still gonna win the super bowl

    • willbest

While you are looking at the positives it’s still giving ibuprofen for the knife lodged between my ribs

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

They might suck, but find ways to win.

      That’s all that matters.

    • Malice Halice

TThey still broke Hoyer arm tho. Fucked wit our off season options. Fuck em

      • willbest

Hoyer lead to cutler cutler lead to Barkley

        • Malice Halice

          real shit

      • Huge Bears Penis

it is a blessing they broke Hoyer’s arm.

        • Malice Halice

He wasn’t a $ or decent 2nd round draft pick?

    • madscout12

Think of all the zebra help they got. They didn’t have one legit drive in the 1st half that didn’t have a crucial 3rd down given to them by zebra help.

And they folded to us when we weren’t running the ball all game. That D looked spent after having all game to rest.

I suspect Seattle won’t look the same against them. Or the Cowboys. Or the Giants.

      • SC Dave

Was gonna say… thanks. Holding on every fucking play of the first half.

        Every play.

    • BerwynBomber

Gotta hand it to Rodgers though. Dude’s more of a competitor than he’s given credit for. He was obviously at half-speed today but still making plays. And his receivers — mainly Adams — did him no favors.

P.S. I was surprised how impotent the Cheese’s pass rush was. They ain’t going far with that.

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Without Matthews, they have no pass rush.
Just like without Vadgers, they have no team.

    • Irish Sweetness

Turnovers 4-0. And we should have win the game!!!

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

Ok, so its 4th down and the Bears are on the goal line. Fox looks over at McCarthy, fat boy tips his cap, Fox smiles, flips him the bird and motions for the FG team.

    #3pick

  • BuddhaJoe

So refs aside, Loggains at least needs to go. You have Howard and Jeffery and you completely ignore them most of the game in favor of Thompson and Bellamy? Done.

I’m about done with Fox too, but you’d have to present somebody better before they get rid of him.

    • willbest

Howard didn’t do a lot before the packers were forced to cover jeffery

      • BuddhaJoe

True but they didn’t commit to the run either. They were throwing Barkley to the wolves and he actually did great for 3 quarters. It seems like they didn’t give a shit about the W and were seeing what he could do, which isn’t necessarily a bad idea, but it hurt in this particular game.

        • willbest

Barkley channels his inner tebow and goes all madden to n the 4th quarter. He needs to figure out how to do that the other 45 minutes

          • BuddhaJoe

He totally shit the bed in the 3rd but he was money the rest of the game. Hard to get a read on him from that. Still had a chance to win. Although even Cutty only had a 3 turnover quarter once or twice.

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Barkley has already proven he is at least as good as Cutty in my book.

And he’ll be much cheaper, younger, and likely less inj/TO prone.

          • BuddhaJoe

He gone, no reason to think about that. I might disagree, but the writing’s on the wall.

          • SC Dave

            You mean Cutler, of course.

          • BuddhaJoe

            Yup.

          • willbest

            He bounced back though

          • MB30SD

With real 1st and 2nd team talent, we blow them the fuck up all game.

    • SC Dave

Loggains is perhaps our best coordinator. Hoyer and Barkely both have played better under him, with a patchwork oline and practice squad WRs, than at any time in their careers. You’re just dead fucking wrong.

      • BuddhaJoe

Can’t go with that. Fangio was calling a good game but the guys just couldn’t fucking tackle, and that’s not his fault. They were getting guys behind the LOS all day but couldn’t finish.

        • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

          Exactly.

No clearer example of that when Kwiat had a FREE dream kill shot at a hobbled Vadgers, and Kwiat completely whiffed and Vadgers completed a 3rd and long.

          • BuddhaJoe

Or that Montgomery run in the 2nd where he shook at least 5 defenders. This ain’t a pro-bowler either.

          • Irish Sweetness

He also let Ty go for a long one. Then again, he’s a rookie.

          • Huge Bears Penis

NO!!! It’s the coach’s fault!!! Rookies and Crap Players have to step up and not make mistakes and play like Pro Bowlers!

        • Irish Sweetness

And his last call, Joe .. the only really important one when all is said and done .. will you go on record as saying that rushing three men was the right thing to do?

          • BuddhaJoe

Nope, in fact one of my earlier comments was bring the heat, but they were getting pressure the whole game and couldn’t finish. Whereas, Loggains going heavy to Bellamy and Thompson instead of Howard, Jeffery, Meredith was absolutely retarded..

      • Irish Sweetness

        OH JESUS ……..

3rd down and goal .. .we can’t afford to leave much time on the clock for Rodgers … it needs to be a run to force GB to use a tiem out with the added option of Howard showing he can bulldoze it in from that. position … and Loggains goes for the dangerous redzone pass that (a) risks being intercepted and (b) stops the clock upon incompletion.

        He is incompetent.

  • Huge Bears Penis

FYI no coach is getting fired in the offseason.

  • Irish Sweetness

    DaBearsBlog
    @dabearsblog

Game was over in Q3. How is it a brutal loss? This Bears team fights their ass off. They don’t have enough good players. They’re getting em.
    >>

Good God Jeff how do you say shit like that?? Either handing it off to Howard on 3rd and goal OR blitzing Rodgers on third down wins us that game. Your refusal to recognise the weakness of Fangio killing this team is all about refusing to do an about term on him because you’ve been calling for him as HC ,,, when he can’t even run the defense.

250 yards and 3 TDs given up on the ground today to a team that can’t run the ball.

Absolute refusal to challenge Rodgers on what should have been the last meaningful play of the game .. instead letting one of the most dangerous long ball QBs in history find an open receiver downfield.

It’s not even debatable. You pressure the QB in that position. You certainly do not rush three.

    • willbest

Um you are sitting there with 1:30 left to play and a chance to take the lead…. Good god Jeff my st be sloshed

      • SC Dave

        disastrously

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Did you see the angles Timu and Kwiat were taking?

      Fangio can’t play for them

(and keep in mind Kwiat is the 3rd ILB AND a rook, and Timu is nothing more than a SP teamer).

When Freeman/Tre were in you didn’t see shit like that. Coincidence? Think not.

      • willbest

I realized Irish’s Vic hate stems from Leblanc, Timu, and all Irishes other PSHs looking like dogshit

        • Irish Sweetness

WHAT? I don’t have a a fucking blog, I don’t care about Twitter and followers … he’s a bullshit co-ordinator who has done NOTHING to warrant the love he gets on here. I actually thought that our recent upturn on defense might have been Fangio-related, but he screwed the pooch today. This was the Packers!

        • MB30SD

          Yuuup

      • Huge Bears Penis

nope, 3rd, 4th, and 5th stringers are supposed to be great and make no mistakes. It has to be coaches fault.

        • willbest

They are in Irish’s mind which is why it has to be the DC

        • Irish Sweetness

          Oh jesus christ ….THAT’S IRRELEVANT!!!!!

          Boolean decision.

3rd down. To blitz or not? What do they need ? A FG? No-brainer, you pressure the QB. Is Pernell McPhhe a 3rd stringer? Is Floyd? HQJ? Amos? YOu send one or two of them and make sure Rodegers gets rid of it.

          Argument cancelled.

          Next.

          • Huge Bears Penis

you are going off the rails a little bit. I believe we were talking about the play of Kwiatowski and Timu throughout the game, not just the last play. So step away from the keyboard, go have a drink, smoke some weed, or head down the street and get some chicken head to give you a blow job. go do whatever it takes you need to calm the fuck down.

      • Malice Halice

Kwiat n timu don’t want that money dats all. Mfs need to stand and take advantage. Howard should motivated all dem backups bit what we see. “Oh he a rookie what u expect?” Naw fuck dat shit

JONES BBQ AND FOOT MASSAGE! JONES BBQ AND FOOT MASSAGE!

        • willbest

          • Huge Bears Penis

doesn’t matter they need to step up, who cares if they are a rookie or only have 5th string talent, they should be playing at Pro Bowl levels. I mean look at Howard, he stepped up despite being down on the depth chart to start, and RB being the easiest position for any player to transition from college to the NFL.

          • SC Dave

Kwiat will stick. Jones and Timu should have already, and will soon be, gone.

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

I hope we draft another promising ILB in the mid-rd next season, esp with Tre’s inj.

Gotta think Fangio knows what good ILBs look like from his time in SF

      • Irish Sweetness

Irrelevant, the game came down to ONE play .. a play where the only thing you cannot do is give Rodgers time. LBs should have been BLITZING at hat point. It’s not even debatable.

We weren’t two scores ahead which is where you rush three. They only needed a FG.

        • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

I agree the last play was highly dubious.

But the D put a lot of pressure on Vadgers, got sacks, and stopped them from scoring TDs when the offense turned it over 4 times.

The D was a lil up and down, but that’s to be expected with backups.

  • Bender McLugh

    Meh.

  • madscout12

16 rush for 162 yards. Fuck me.

    • willbest

Monty? Yeah our run D was brutal. Really missed freeman

      • SC Dave

The dline got their asses whipped the entire game; it was pathetic.

    • SC Dave

60 of which came on a play with as flagrant a hold at the point of attack as one can imagine. Not that is excuses poor tackling, but Hick would have stuffed that shit before it started. Ok…. 15 for 102 sucks too, but….

      • Irish Sweetness

        250. look at the stats.

    • Irish Sweetness

That’s just Montgomery. We gave up 250 yards and 3 Touchdowns on the ground.

  • SC Dave

    Okay. Serious question.

What did George Halas do to piss off the billionaire owners of the NFL so much that a third of a century after his death, we’re still paying?

Like, a “blocking in the back” penalty on a punt that went out of bounds. are you fucking serious? At least call a goddamn personal foul if that’s what you meant.

How you can “block in the back” on a play where no one is running the ball could only be explained by mob money in Vegas.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

The one good stat they brought up is that we have like 78 transactions.

I mean, that could be bad I guess cuz that means lots of influx.

But that also means POX aren’t complacent and are constantly churning over the roster looking for ballers.

I think the announcers said that was the most since like the SEA when they first got Wilson.

    Hopefully achieve similar results soon.

  • BerwynBomber

Let’s be honest. Davante Adams doesn’t Bellamy two end zone tosses by Rodgers and we’re not bellyaching about EOG decisions by Fox and Fangio.

Hats off to Barkley. The kid continues to impress. Resilient and unflappable. That was arguably the greatest 4 TO game by a Bears QB ever. Moreover, saw a little smoke on a couple of his passes today. Flashed a stronger arm than his previous games.

Oline and pass rush were awesome today. In terms of the latter, we were constantly moving a hobbled Rodgers off his spot … and often quickly. McPhee makes a huge difference. Also thought the Oline provided excellent protection.

Rush D was obviously Cheese-like. Montgomery is deceptively strong but some of the tackling was atrocious.

    • Bender McLugh

      Without Goldman too

    • willbest

I would give Barkley a chase Daniels 3 yr 21 mil 12ish guarantee for his 4 game performance

      • BerwynBomber

I’m cool with Barkley, Shaw and a draft pick. Or Barkley, another veteran (Glennon), and Shaw (or a draft pick).

Sucks that the QB class this year looks so lame.

        • Irish Sweetness

We only carry two QBs ..why draft one? There’s only one worth drafting anyway.

          • BerwynBomber

Because it will be an open competition for the QB position next camp. Barkley, IMV, would have the inside track but if we have a kid who beats Shaw then Shaw goes to the PS or we trade him.

Not drafting QBs is what partly what got us into this mess in the first place.

    • SC Dave

pass rush sucked, I don’t know what you guys are talking about. Of course, that GB could hold with impunity did not help.

  • Huge Bears Penis

In other news Brock Osweiler got benched today.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

And Hopkins owners rejoice everywhere, muttering “too little too late”

    • BerwynBomber

It’ll suck if HOU wins that division. Would SO MUCH prefer to see TEN in the post-season than the fucking yawn-inducing Texans.

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Yeah, I hatttee Texans’ game. Coma inducing.

I hope Ten gets a chance at playoffs

  • willbest

Oz gets benched and Hopkins gets more than 4 points

  • RenoBear

A lot of people are killing Barkley about his turnovers. As they should be. But the way that he bounced back HAS to be commended. You could see him really focusing on his release point later in the game and getting his mechanics back in order. The kids started four games. I’ll say it again, if he was a draft pick this year, people would be happy. I still think the kid might be able to play. bring him to camp and let him earn it. I’d be curious to see him with a whole offseason in the same system, and as importantly, getting reps that he’s NEVER gotten ANYWHERE in his career yet. He has the intangibles. I think there’s a lot growth to be had if he gets the chance

    • Irish Sweetness

I thought he was great. I haven’t seen anyone slate him. We lost the turnover/takeaway battle and both co-ordinators screwed the pooch at the crucial point of the game. The usual Packer-love form the officials … and we still should have won. Gutted.

    • willbest

In more reasoned analysis Barkley had 2 TOs. The Hail Mary doesn’t count, and the blindside strip sack in under 2 seconds wasn’t on him. The hold on whoever to set up the TO was bad, but even without the hold the reciever was well covered, same with the one where Braverman gave up. 3 packers players right in the area. You don’t make those throws.

      • Irish Sweetness

Strip-sack on Leno .. who has always been a backup in my eyes. Jeff loves him. Come to think of it, Jeff is a terrible judge of talent on this team. He literally comes down the wrong side of every binary decision .. and everyone gives him a pass because it’s his blog.

        • willbest

Leno isn’t a great OT, but he is a starting NFL tackle unlike JWebb. Keep in mind not everybody on your roster can be a top 10 talent. Leno does seem like a 15-20 guy.

          • Irish Sweetness

We can move him to RT though. Draft a stud. Leno’s a 7th rounder?

          • willbest

Leno was a 7th rounder. He was not good on the right side. They had him out there in the 2015 preseason and it almost got him cut. Moved him to the left side when Bushrod went down and he played admirably.

          • Irish Sweetness

We can upgrade, and he ride the pine. No biggie. Peppers just ran by him for the strip-sack, and Pep is hardly a speed rusher.

          • willbest

You don’t just draft starting tackles anymore they take time to develop or are busts. When Leno is gets to the open market somebody is giving him 7-8 million a year and 15-20 million guaranteed.

      • RenoBear

Exactly. See my reply to Butch

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

The Hail Mary INT we can throw out the window.

But the other 3 he def had some part in.

Barkley didn’t sense that jailbreak Peppers strip-sack

on one it looked like the TEs arm was held perhaps disrupting the route, and the other Braverman supposedly stopped on the route.

But it could’ve totally been Barkley’s fault too.

Either way, Barkley did recompose himself and marched down the field when it mattered.

      • Irish Sweetness

He had a bad quarter. He had us in position to win it in the 4th. Hand it off to Howard, and we likely win the game whether he scored on the play or not. Time was crucial, and we stopped the clock. Basic clock management. We had to run it.

      • willbest

I won’t fault the guy for not being spider-man. But as I said even if the WRs weren’t held/didn’t quit they were well covered.

        • Irish Sweetness

I thought the WRs were good today :

          Deonte : 8 catches for 110
          Cam: 9 for 104
          AJ : 6 for 89, 1 TD
          Bellamy: 1 for 10, 1 TD

Cam will get better. Hopefully White gets better. Deonte is what he is. AJ is what he is.

Two new OTs, A healthy team … not looking too shabby.

          • willbest

That doesn’t mean you throw it to them in double coverage. And every one of them had at least 1 drop.

          • Irish Sweetness

But all receivers drop balls. The best receivers in the game drop their fair share.

I don’t see this game as being lost by dropped balls as much as what happened in the last two minutes. We were in position to win it all.

      • RenoBear

Yes, both throws over the middle just sailed on him, that’s why I was really watching his mechanics after that… and he fixed them. I was very impressed. His record and stats definitely don’t tell the story.

  • Irish Sweetness

You’re all taking this very well.

That loss crushed me inside. I mean, I want the high draft pick, but beating the Packers and staying ahead of them is important to everyone, or so I though. I haven’t felt this bad about a loss in forever.
The media will be blowing Vadgers tonight, when he didn’t even throw a TD pass.

    • willbest

Well at least they are only up by 4 points. We could have lost this one by 35 if Adams doesn’t drop a couple and Barkley doesn’t nut up in the 4th.

    • madscout12

This is no where near 2010 NFCCG. No where near 2013 final game.

This is a minor blip compared to those two.

      • willbest

Yeah, I hate this loss, but there were others that sucked even more because it took us out of contention.

      • Irish Sweetness

Well, that was 6 years ago. Yes, that was bad.

    • BerwynBomber

Any great QB — Rodgers, Brady, Brees, etc — who hits a do or die pass in a do or die game is gonna get stroked by the media afterward. Nature of the beast. To the victor … yada-yada-yada ….

    • BuddhaJoe

Well they got semi-jobbed and possibly should have won but didn’t fuck up their draft position. So, that bodes well for next year.

Plus, I got new shoes as an early Christmas present today so fuck yeah! No more wet, cold feet for me!

    • RenoBear

Great link. Great article by the lions fan, shockingly. Packers are going along the Seahawks way of ‘They won’t call PI on every play’

      • willbest

        yep

  • BuddhaJoe

Montgomery’s rushes were the biggest blood boiler, because they apparently couldn’t tackle the fucker to save their lives. There were like 5 missed tackles on that one big run in the first half alone, fucking pathetic

    • willbest

Which is odd because while our safeties suck at coverage they have generally been rock solid in run support.

      • Doc Hamstring

Safeties can’t help when the guy’s got a full head of steam because the ILBs got blocked out of the play.

      • Irish Sweetness

We have been top 7 in run D? Maybe Ty is just that good?

        • willbest

Or maybe the safeties were playing back because of Rodgers, and the ILBs aren’t the best.

          • BerwynBomber

That was my take on it. We sold out against the pass (if that make sense). Just seemed like every play our D-line (and OLBs) had its ears pinned back.

        • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

For a lot of the year, Freeman/Tre were the ILBs.

But Ty is good. I liked the way he ran from the start.

It was obvious Pack O was better w him in the backfield, but Grimus is an idiot.

    • Irish Sweetness

That’s as much to do with Ty being a bit special as it is ‘bad tackling’. He makes people miss.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

I say we extend Barkley right now.

Get him off his worst game for cheap.

    Buy the dip yo!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0akBdQa55b4

    • willbest

If he hadn’t had the 2nd crappy turnover I would have said he was looking at 20 million guarantees, he is probably looking at closer to 10-15 now.

      • Irish Sweetness

As a RFA? Would somebody give us a first for him?

        • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)
        • MB30SD
        • Irish Sweetness

If not, we don’t need to be giving him 15 million then ….

        • willbest

If I was not drafting in the top 10, and I could lock up a starting quality QB who can play in snow and cold, with with top 15 upside for on a $7 million a year, for 3 years, I give up my first.

          • Irish Sweetness

Thing is, then we have two first rounders … and if you get a first for Cutty …..

            It’s all good.

          • willbest

You aren’t getting a first for Cutler

          • Irish Sweetness

A second rounder in that situation leaves us with two firsts and two seconds. That’s a wet dream

          • willbest

You are going to get a 4th for Cutler and a conditional pick based on him being healthy.

          • Irish Sweetness

A 4th?? You don’t trade him at that point …

Look at the crap that’s been peddled in this ;league at QB …. Cutty isn’t done yet.

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

No way, no how, will the Bears pay Cutler $16M next year to wear his cap backwards on the sideline while Barkley/Hoyer start ahead of him.

          • Irish Sweetness

Hoyer?? Duuuude …… Hoyer isn’t an NFL quarterback.

Anyway, we’re paying Cutty 12.5 next season.

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

against the cap, maybe, but I think he gets bonuses for being on the team in April or something.

Might not matter to us, but pretty sure Ginny doesn’t want to give bonuses that pay more than some backup salaries.

          • willbest

Nope, you can bring Cutler into camp and cut him after the 4th preseason

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

haha. That would be hilarious if they do that.

          • Irish Sweetness

Which would be cray cray – somebody will lose their QB in the off-season and then Cutty becomes very attractive to somebody. happens every single year.

          • Doc Hamstring

Maybe Bradford dislocates his knee in practice, you think?

          • Irish Sweetness

It happens. Or a car crash. Petty was hurt yesterday. How bad was that? Tannehill went down. Houston ? Buffalo? Minny? LA?? CLE??

It’s the most important position and Cutty ain’t all that bad.

          • willbest

No he isn’t, but he had sustained a second serious injury to his throwing hand. Its just going to be that much weaker going forward in terms of durability.

          • Irish Sweetness

Let that be somebody elses problem then. They’ll keep it quiet like they do …

          • Irish Sweetness

WEll, I guess we couldn’t sign Barkley and pay Cutty, no. I’m fine with Barkley and Shaw … a bitchin line … and plenty of Howard. Draft another RB too.

Carey drops more balls than anyone in the NFL. Maybe keep Langford, but we should prepare for Howard being injured.

          • willbest

Its 12.5 million salary, plus another 2.5 million in roster bonuses based on if he is on the game day roster. He also has $1 million in pro-rated bonuses.

          • willbest

Get off Hoyer. He is gone. Zero reason for him to be a Bear. But Cutler isn’t going to be a Bear at $16 million either.

          • Irish Sweetness

            They’re both gone.

Remember that Shaw is seen as being better than Barkley. He was our #2 going into the season.

So Barkley and Shaw fight it out, with Fales on the PS.

Cutty and Hoyer fade into history.

          • RenoBear

            At best. I’m thinking 5th they’re lucky… or anything

          • Irish Sweetness

Look what OSweiler got and he was terrible when they traded for him .. and got benched today .. for a guy that made the comeback!

          • willbest

Oz isn’t going anywhere. Texans guaranteed his pay for 2 seasons. They would need to bonus out like 12 million of next year’s salary to get somebody to take him.

          • Irish Sweetness

Point being, when a team is desperate, they get a boner for Jay Christoher .. we get at least a second for him.

          • willbest

But they aren’t going to pay Oz 17 million and Cutler 15 million. No team can compete that way.

        • willbest

We would be stupid to bring him back on the 3.5 million tender. We would have to pay him $22.5 million on the tag in 2018 if he turned out to be good, and if he turned out to be good he would have zero incentive not to take the tag and then start a bidding war in 2019.

The question is what to give him. We obviously offer him the tender, but we should also try and lock him up on something like a $10 million guarantee with $5-7 million a season. Maybe a 5/5/15 million deal with that 3rd year being entirely guaranteed.

          err.. 3rd year not guaranteed.

          • Irish Sweetness

Pay him ten. Square away Shaw for 5M. Draft two tackles and a DE.

Our DBs are all young and improving, and will benefit from a decent, healthy pass rush .. and a DC that hasn’t got his add stuck up his ass.

          • willbest

Shaw is going to make vet min next year.

          • Irish Sweetness

Even better! And Fales on the PS in case somebody breaks their leg.

          • willbest

What does Fales have to do to get your off him? He regressed preseason to preseason.

          • Irish Sweetness

Based on what? They didn’t sign him back if they didn’t see something in him.

          • MB30SD

Our DBS are abject dogshit. Weakest unit in the building.

We need to spend everything on real dbs this offseason.

Line for the most part got tons of pressure all day

          • Irish Sweetness

But they’re not doghsit MB. Porter is dogshit once a WR goes long on him. HQJ and Amos are still not into their third year and are doing reasonably well. Callahan, Hall and LeBlanc may be something … and are young. But they’re not dogshit. not yet.

With a DC that doesn’t pressure the opposing QB, they will always look worse than they are. You should know this. They will improve next year naturally with more experience and coaching. Improve the pass rush and/or DC … they could be a top third unit next season

          • willbest

Amos has something like 27 starts. You know what he is Irish. He showed promise as a rookie, but he has not improved in his sophomore season. He is great safety depth but he shouldn’t be a starter.

          • Irish Sweetness

I’m not in love with him – good against the run, but at a position like that .. third year .. who knows? But yeah, if we draft a safety high with all these picks … sweet. I’d keep him regardless. Injuries happen.

          • Huge Bears Penis

Amos is not good against the run. Did you watch him play today?

          • BerwynBomber

He’s brutal. I don’t know what he does well anymore.

          • DaMurph

            DOGSHIT BRO!

          • DaMurph

irish is batshit cray if he thinks our DB’s are close to legit!

          • DaMurph

Our DB’s are horrible! The weakest link of our D! Decent pressure most of the game.

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Considering the cap, locking up Barkley for $5-7M/season would be dreamy.

            #buyTheDipYo!

  • MB30SD

Montgomery is a good Fucking football player man. All this bullshit about they don’t have a rb.

    Smokescreen. dude’s legit

    • Irish Sweetness

      Christine Michael too.

      • MB30SD

Naw, our D was dogging exhausted at that point.

For some reason, we just forgot how to tackle today

  • Irish Sweetness

Sorry if I snapped at anyone .. I’m not taking this very well.

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

I felt this way when we lost to the colts in the SB but honestly, I haven’t had any passion for this team since Ginny opened her lock box for peppers and the Bears wasted their last shot at a SB.

    DaBearsBlog

    @dabearsblog
Bears giving up that bombs is inexcusable. But you don’t fire people over it at 3-10. Unless you’re insane.

Insane would be trying to win next season with piss-poor co-ordinators … which is what we have.

  • Irish Sweetness

Okay, time to sleep on this shit.

  • Irish Sweetness

    DaBearsBlog

    @dabearsblog

    Rodgers v LeBlanc ain’t fair

    >> Perception. Rodgers v No-pass-rush ain’t fair. Oh God, just looked at the bomb again. Not only did Fangio not pressure Vadgers, he has the safeties just behind the LBs. Nelson was bout 20 yards behind them. Inexcusable whichever way it’s diced.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

In other news, Gus Bradley from Jags fired.

    Soooo

promote Fangio to HC, hire Gus for DC, bang bang.

    • Irish Sweetness

      Ah … trolling I see.

Somebody has yet to explain how Fangio is a good choice for HC. Is he a good man-manager?

The Jags Defense is …. not bad upon closer inspection, top third, pass and run

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Bradley also helped build the SEA Legion of Boom.

Maybe if he has some pieces, he can help our secondary.

        • Irish Sweetness

But Fangio .. what’s the deal with him and HC?

And John Fox is a known quantity … he had the most injured team int he NFL this season. With another round of FA and the draft … fewer injuries … no Cutty/Hoyer .. .we might actually look okay next season. Fox is no dope. He’s respected. Give him his three years.

          • MB30SD

Doooood… You are literally the only dude out of like 20 reg posters who looks at this team and season, and goes… “Yup, fire Fangio!”

Nay, literally the only person on earth.

Sorry maings you’re watching different games than everyone else… Especially with such blatantly obvious and multitudinous other better and much more accurate choices.

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

Nay, the entire universe including wherever the Tall Whites, Small Greys, Lizards or even fictional ones where bizzarro Superman exists

  • Irish Sweetness

Okay, so Jordy dropped 2 TDs … and Jordy had a long one out of his hands.

    4 turnovers/GB takeaways …. 250 yards on the ground … 3TDs on the ground.

We probably don’t deserve to win that game in fairness. And still it was there to be won ….

    • BerwynBomber

Nelson dropped a pass or two but it was Adams who had the Bellamy-level drops. Sure TDs on two occasions. Right in his breadbasket.

If memory serves he had some bad drops in our T-Day win last year too.

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

Is it normal to drop balls when you can’t move your fingers because it’s so cold?

    • AlbertInTucson

      Rodgers is clearly playing hurt.

Packer fans have to be holding their breath that something on him doesn’t just go “pop”!

    • AlbertInTucson

“Deserves got nothin’ to do with it.”- William Munny, UNFORGIVEN.

  • BerwynBomber

I swear Montgomery carried Amos an extra 30 yards on two of the former’s runs because the latter was trying to ball tackle.

P.S. looked at the Rodgers-to-Nelson a bomb a few more times. Bush was supposed to provide over-the-top help but bit on a move by Nelson hence why LeBlanc was left on a island.

Ah well. Helluva game. Barkley has only one win to show for his efforts but he has made these meaningless games entertaining.

P.S.2. I am still more pissed about last week’s loss. I can live with getting beat by an all-timer like Rodgers. Or at least can live with it better than getting beat by that fucking hack Jeff Triplette and his crew of incompetents.

    • AlbertInTucson

      Goat horns for Bush.

What on earth could he have been thinking?

But, we all KNEW how this was going to end when the Bears had to settle for just tying the game at 27.

Ty Montgomery, converted wideout! Rushing for a buck and a half, plus, was galling.

Could have been the best Bear comeback in team history.

Two very bad throws by Barkley but you have to give him credit for that 4th quarter performance.

He looked better than the guys who started for Houston and Denver today.

      • SC Dave

Bears should have gone for the TD.

        • Irish Sweetness

At least handed it off. How often have we seen Howard run it straight in from there?

      • Irish Sweetness

We gave up 250 on the ground Al, and 3 TDs. We were gashed on the ground, not by Rodgers.

        • AlbertInTucson

Noted, with my “Ty Montgomery” lament.

    • Irish Sweetness

Only two of us on here thought more than 3 pass-rushers should have been sent on the Rodgers-to-Nelson bomb. I was stunned by that. I didn’t even go to bed after the game I stayed up all night.

Those safeties were a good 20 yards behind Nelson for some reason.

      • BerwynBomber

Bush bit on Nelson’s fake to the sideline (about twenty yards down) and could never recover. You can see it clearly in the replay. He had over the top coverage.

At that point Rodgers spotted one-on-one against LeBlanc and lofted a perfect pass. I actually thought Nelson would score but he seemed to stumble for whatever reason.

  • AlbertInTucson

A lot of good games., good finishes, today.

    • BerwynBomber

Yeah, Dec football … was surprised PIT came back to win their game. Nice last second win by TEN too at KC.

      • AlbertInTucson

Needed that TD from D.Murray that Henry got.

        • MB30SD

Needed that TD from Fucking Meredith… Or was it Bellamy. It all blends together for fuck sake

          • Irish Sweetness

Bellamy had 1 catch for a TD. AJ had a TD. Cam had the most, 9 catches, but no TD. Deonte also had 8 catches. No TD. Both guys over a hundred yards. Cam was getting slated on here for some reason.

Davante Adams dropped two TDs! And with our 4 TOs, we didn’t really have any business winning that game. Could have though …

  • AlbertInTucson

Could have clinched 2nd place money today.

Leading by 2 but opponent has Dez Bryant and Dan Bailley still active.

Barring the Cowpokes being shut out, not bloody likely, I’m toast.

  • AlbertInTucson

The Lions have not won outdoors all year.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

So the Bucs get Evans #7, and we get White cheering on the sidelines for 2 years.

    • BerwynBomber

And ATL picked Vic Beasley in pick after ours.

By all accounts he is in DMVP of Year conversation.

      • DaMurph

Beasley is who Trac and I begged for!

        • MB30SD

          Ahem

          • DaMurph

            Everyone knows we agree! Haha!

        • CanadaBear

          JW too.

        • Irish Sweetness

I called for Floyd in the first and Howard right here in the fifth round. Pace and I agreed on something at least. I’ll live with the Whitehair pick although I want to see Grasu at Center. Derrick Henry would have been nice in 2.

        • Irish Sweetness

Where would he have played in our D?

  • BearDown100393

Losing to Green Bay and being upset is never ever irrational.

    • Irish Sweetness

I lost my shit today. The comeback and the last two minutes. Soul-crushing.

  • MB30SD

That (turrible) tecmo commercial… Um, that’s called a safety Bo. Smh.

    • Huge Bears Penis

      Bo doesn’t know safeties.

      • MB30SD

        Don’t

  • That Guy

Don’t remember the last time da blog hit 1000 comments on one thread. Not sure if its ever happened in one day.

Bears can’t fire Fox. These guys are playing their hearts out for him. And our 4th string QB, and defense composed almost entirely of backups just took the Packers to the limit.

    • MB30SD

I’m somewhere between you and joecashflo NB.

      • That Guy

Fox is definitely going to start the season the hot-seat, but we’ve been in a lot of close games the second half of the season. Next year if the team starts winning some of those close games we all of a sudden look respectable again.

Plus, who are you going to hire to replace Fox really? Fangio isn’t getting hired away after a 3 win season.

        • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd IplayHard2!(Butch)

“but we’ve been in a lot of close games”

Same as last year, but Fox can’t make half-time or 4rth Q adjustments to turn around those games.

Today was case and point. Could’ve easily ran it, most likely get a TD, or at the very least, leave the Puke with 20 sec and no TOs.

Instead, pass. Incomplete. FG. 1:19 left. Game.

Had NOTHING to do with injuries or other crap. Just straight BONEHEAD decision.

          Can’t fix stupid or lazy.

          • Irish Sweetness

Can’t recall ANY adjustments at halftime this season.

          • Johnnywad

The notion of “half time adjustments” is dopey. It’s silly to think that in the modern NFL a coach has to wait until half time to think about a change in approach. We see things change from possession to possession. For my part, I don’t but into “half time adjustments”.

        • Irish Sweetness

Fangio isn’t getting a square meal if I have anything to do with it.

Can’t see Ginny’s swan ditching Foxy this season. HE gets another year surely. This season was a CF with all the injuries. None of that is on him.

We’ll need Fox for the healthy super bowl roster next season. Fangio can get bent. I want a DC with a philosophy that isn’t about bending over.

Painful loss aside, at least we didn’t harm our draft position this week. We’re hanging in there at #4 with NYJ hot on our tails.

Who’s the man at #4 – Jabril Peppers? Cleveland or SF could grab Trubisky, not that we need to draft him. Two tackles, or an OT and Peppers.

        • MB30SD

I really wouldn’t mind taking a flyer on a young hungry aggressive guy who wants another shot at a bigger piece of the pie.

Yep, I’m talking about a guy like McDaniels or Matt Patricia. Interview them at least.

We need a guy to build on. Gase, Garrett even.

    • Irish Sweetness

Was just going to say. A minnesota game hit over 800 I remember.

    • BerwynBomber

Moot anyways as I don’t think they were ever going to fire Fox after two seasons. My suspicion is they always had a three year handshake. The only thing that might have changed that if the team quit on Fox or became a public embarrassment like Trestman’s second year.

In some ways the job Barkley has done semi-saved Fox’s hide.

    • Joecashflow

Zero game management by Fox. Zero. If you just leave it up to coordinators, this is what happens. Head coach is supposed to call the big game decisions. To just be a sideline watcher is a travesty.

  • Joecashflow

Worse than a blow out. Worse than anything. We have the golden opportunity to set GB down for the winter. 1:45 left, ball 3rd down on the 4, …..with our team, you run the ball 2 times for the win. Run the ball 2 times for the win ! We have only 3 wins. You go for the win, and run off the clock at same time. What does Fox do? From 4 yd line, throws incomplete pass and we lose. We will never go anywhere with this ignorant coach.

    Fire Fox right now !

    • Irish Sweetness

Fox calls the plays now? He trusts Loggains or not? Bellifat says never relinquish calling the plays. The letup on Rodgers at the end isn’t on Fox. That’s all Fangio.

      • Joecashflow

Who called the bone head play that cost Seattle a superbowl? Who,should be in charge of thE last 2 minutes of the game? If not the head coach, then who? Fox needs to go. Zero leadership.

        • Huge Bears Penis

Why would you want a defensive minded head coach calling offensive plays at the end of the game? If the pass play worked we would have all been praising them, if they would have run it and got stuffed people would have been up in arms also. There is no guarantee that Howard would have scored. Yes we probably would have went to overtime but there is no guarantee that we would have won then either. If we lost in overtime, everyone would have pointed to that play in regulation. It is a no win situation. So just stop with this idiocy.

          • Irish Sweetness

It’s not the play, it was the nature of it – a pass. Crazy in the redzone enough, but when you need to keep the clock running it doesn’t take a genius to call a run. In fairness, it was a bad throw to Cam anyway, it was behind him.

          • Huge Bears Penis

GB had a timeout left if they ran and did not make it. Time out. GB would still have a minute to score.

You are missing 2 points. We can run the ball. 4 down territory. 4 yds. It was 3rd down. If you run twice, time runs off the clock and GB is behind by 4pts. They then have to score a TD, so no OT. Yes, of course I think we can get 4 yds in 2 runs. We have all year. It’s the right call when you have 10 losses, now 11. Take it down their throat with one of the best OL and RBs in the league. Yes, I think so. That wins games, if you want to talk about percentages.

Plays are always the wrong one when they don’t work. Absolutely agree that the praises would have been heavy had the pass went for the winning TD.

That said, I would have ran on 3rd down to eat the clock. With Unrein *and* Lasike in as dual FB.

Because HC is “defensive minded”-does not mean the HC cannot turn to his OC and say “run it down their throat, twice if you have to”. It’s the smart call.

I knew what to expect listening to Fox post game. His best line was “we MANAGED to lose the game”. He sure did. Clueless. He managed to not win. Sickening.

    Blackhawks stay hot.

I thought this was going to be a bit of a rebuilding year

Can’t believe TB now leads this game. DAL was absolutely dominating this thing.

The MIN midseason collapse is pretty stunning. They looked like the best team in the NFC the first third of the year and today they were essentially eliminated.

The Bears greased those skids for the Queens.

Injuries on offense piled up and they could no longer move the football. This put too much pressure on their defense.
