• Joecashflow

Run the damn ball. Two back set sometimes. We have a fullback, Right? Howard 100+, Cam 100+, Alshon Hamstring what ever the D gives us and whenever Hoyer the Destroyer sees him. We win 44-3.

    • Irish Sweetness

No field goals and two-pointers the whole way ….

    • willbest

Who is the second back bell? If we had Carey healthy maybe

  • Bobby Douglass

    Hey, how ’bout dem Cubbies?

    • AlbertInTucson

Blackhawks got off the schneid, too.

I’d def put Lach and briggsy in their prime above these two.

Interesting picture. I’m told by a very good source our fearless leader is meeting with his top brass today. What are the chances they just want to hang out and take in a few games?

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

There’s something intrinsically wrong with a team putting in an injury clause like that. Cor”pirate” lawyers never cease to amaze.

      • willbest

        Huh?
Kaep I want 40 million guaranteed
9ers: Um about about 25 million
Kaep: no it has to be 40 million
9ers: How about 40 million but only if you don’t suck. Otherwise it will be 25 million

        • willbest

And the result is he sits on the bench getting paid $17 million or whatever because they don’t want him getting hurt.

          • Sauron’s right eyeball

It just seems wrong to renig on contract due to injury.

          • willbest

Well the 9ers were going to bench him and cut him. And if he didn’t want to renogitiate they seemed perfectly content on doing just that. This would tank his market value. By giving up that right and getting on the field he is betting in himself. And now he has the option of leaving any time he wants without being franchise tagged.

That Cubs game was, in fact, epic.

    • PaceBot 2000

This cubs team has forced me to watch over 30games this year. Absolutely fearless.
They truly are a joy to watch.

      • willbest

I have only watched 17, but that is 16 more than I usually watch. And I took my family to kids to their first sporting event, which was at Wrigley. The down side is my wife fell in love with Kris Bryant.

    • CanadaBear

They’ve been fun to watch all year. Very likable bunch. I’m hoping Kershaw has nothing tonight due to pitching 3 times in 5 games. This is the first time in my life when I felt like the Cubs actually have a good chance to win it all.

      • madscout12

Starting to sound a lot like my 2005 White Sox. Sometimes, it is just your year.

Good luck to the Dodgers, though.

        • CanadaBear

I was with ya until that last sentence.

          • MB30SD

Seriously. I hate baseball… and fuuuck the Dodgers. Smh

  • Johnnywad

I hope as much as anybody that the Bears somehow found diamonds in the rough in Brian Hoyer and Cam Meredith.

    But Holy Shit.

Brian Hoyer has been on 6 NFL teams in as many seasons without much success at any of those stops. He was undrafted out of college because he wasn’t very good.

Cam Meredith has 26 catches and 300 yards in his NFL career. 9 for 130 came just last week agains the 30th ranked defense in the league. He too was undrafted out of college because he wasn’t very good.

The odds of those two becoming real, long term, NFL starters while walking that path are very small. Perhaps they will. I have no idea what to expect of this team anymore.

i just can’t believe some of the things I read and hear on the subject.

    • PaceBot 2000

I guess in this type of season you’re trying to find young pieces for the future.
Meredith is a raw talent and could be a nice, inexpensive addition to the offense so they can focus on way more pressing issues like the D. Expect the next draft to be D and TE or maybe a bigger ticket OT in FA too.

      • Johnnywad

        And an OT

      • MB30SD

And a qb… hopefully with our first pick

    • willbest

Hoyer is not a diamond in the rough. Too much tape on him. You know what he is. Cam Meredith might be. I mean Antonio Brown was a 6th rounder. So there are WR that can just find their groove in the NFL and he is young enough that he can work on some issues like ball control.

      • madscout12

Cam’s game better be just a sure handed WR who runs good routes. I haven’t seen the physical skills of an Antonio Brown.

If he’s a taller Earl Bennett, I’ll take it.

    • Irish Sweetness

      Cam is for real.

  • willbest

Inactives: Floyd, Langford, Cutler, Hall, Houston-Carson, Goldman, Kush.

Massie will play but he has a gimped ankle. So that should help.

      • MB30SD

        Hee hee

  • madscout12

I have to laugh at the Dallas situation. I would kill to be Dallas right now, and it would be a god damn no brainer. You have a rookie who has played well, taken care of the ball, and using the weapons you’ve provided him with. You have a vet who can’t stay healthy, and is in the twilight of his career. You roll with your future who is playing well, and you strongly advise your vet, who’s broken his back, to retire before he kills himself.

    • BerwynBomber

Exactly. I give Romo a ton of cred for all the injuries he has dealt with, but time to retire before he is in a wheelchair the rest of his life.

      • madscout12

And as much as I love and believe in Cutler, and I do, he’d be dropped like a bad habit if we have Dak. And I’d support that completely.

God damn shame we didn’t draft a QB.

    • MB30SD

Nice Canada. Kid is a stud! Haven’t had any time to watch racing.

      • CanadaBear

There hasn’t been much racing on my cable this year. I just saw a replay of the finish. The Belgians split the race to pieces in the wind and a small group contested the finish. Matthews was wheel sucking as always and Cav was following him. Bad move for Cav. By the time he came around Matthews is was too late. Sagan could have had the door shut on him but the Italian didn’t close the door. Boonen came in 3rd.

  • madscout12

My local TV station thinks I give a fuck about Pats Bungles. BUT….

They just showed how Gronk and Uni are being used together. Same side of the formation in the Power-O. Both split off on the play action. 3rd and 1, how the fuck do you cover that? 2nd and 3 that’s a big gain or 1st every time. Jesus, the cheater is awesome.

He sucks. But hell Hub just this week said he sees GB as one of the top four teams in the NFL. I swear it must be “well, they have Rodgers so automatically they’re better than we think.”

      • madscout12

Hard to say they suck yet, but they look to be on the decline.

Watch the bastards pull another QB out their ass.

        • BerwynBomber

They might have had one in that Callahan kid they lost this week.

  • madscout12

Big Ben taking his annual game or two off. And we say Cutty is fragile.

    • BearDown100393

      Roethlisberger is a tank.
      Made out of aluminum.

      • madscout12

Watch the hit too. Barely gets his leg touched. Knee injury.

    • BerwynBomber

No you never say Cutty is fragile. Quite the opposite.

    • willbest

That sucks he is in my lineup

  • BearDown100393

Not a good game for Jacoby Glenn so far.

    • BerwynBomber

He didn’t play well last week either.

    • madscout12

Wish you could just plant a brain in guys like that. He’s got all the physical tools to be a good player. Mental stuff is shit currently.

  • willbest

Is it possible that soldier field is providing our D with something of a home field advantage

    • BerwynBomber

That and Bortles resembles a young Cutty. Lots of tools but too many mistakes.

      • willbest

When was young cutty surrounded by tools?

        • BerwynBomber

I meant Bortles upside/potential. Good lord, you get defensive. LOL

        • madscout12

Well, he was in a sense.

Remember J Webb? Frankie O? Kellen Davis?

          All tools.

  • Irish Sweetness

If everybody isn’t on the Cam-Train after that catch ….

    • BerwynBomber

He’ll be gone next year. Langford will be Howard’s back-up and they’ll pick up an other guy off the street.

  • BerwynBomber

Huge drop by Carey. That had 30 or 40 yards written all over it.

    • Irish Sweetness

Shouldn’t be on the field. Run Forrest Run.

  • PaceBot 2000

Wonder if mcphee will yell at Carey.

  • BearDown100393

Carey is his own worst enemy. Cannot get out of his own way to advance up the depth chart.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Big Ben bites the dust.

  • madscout12

Sitting here thinking that “Tom Hanks, nobody liked the DaVinci Code and the other shitty movie. Then I realize, he doesn’t give a shit.”

    #makingbank

    • BearDown100393

      Don’t cccaaaaaaaarrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeee.

    • Irish Sweetness

I stopped trying to read the DaVinci Code after about three pages, the prose was so bad. Life’s too short.

      • madscout12

There was one trick. The chapters were like one page each. So you’re like, I can read another.

        But yeah, beacon of suck.

      • EnderWiggin

For some reason, modern trendy books are written like screenplays.. Hard to finish a book like that.

  • Irish Sweetness

We’re second in the NFL in yards per play offensively. Checkdown Ahoy!

    Just give it to Howard.

    • willbest

Howard is having a bad day

    • madscout12

3rd to last in points. That takes effort.

  • Irish Sweetness

Jeffrey moved outside the magic 15 yard circle.

  • Irish Sweetness

Why is Carey in the game at all?

  • willbest

    How was that not grounding

  • madscout12

If Matt LeBlanc is the Sanchez of TV, Kevin James is the Jonathan Quinn.

    • Irish Sweetness

Kevin James is proof of illuminati agreements.

    • BearDown100393

      Jared Lorenzen

  • Irish Sweetness

Hoyer had no idea where that was going.

  • willbest

I can get used to this shutting down the run.

  • Scharfinator

Letting these guys stick around shows how were bad. Should be 24-0
    or at least 20-0

  • willbest

    Jesus royal

    • EnderWiggin

I think it was crowded, maybe he thought it was best to get away. Glad a Bear didn’t touch it.

  • PaceBot 2000

    Fucking punt. Bounced 25yds.

  • Irish Sweetness

I love making defenses tired – this is great.

    • willbest

      Shut out

    • madscout12

Especially when it isn’t our D.

  • Irish Sweetness

    God the Jags are bad.

  • madscout12

Fuck CBS. “The best games from the best Confrence”.

It is AL and a bunch of scrubs.

  • PaceBot 2000

    Not holding

  • PaceBot 2000

    Year of Cam.

  • willbest

Commentators siding with us, somebody check the temp in hell

    • BearDown100393

Televisions in Jacksonville region already switched over to Hee Haw.

  • Irish Sweetness

    That’s a bullshit call.

  • PaceBot 2000

    Hole rammin Howard..

    • Irish Sweetness

      Baller.

  • Irish Sweetness

    TOOT! TOOOOT!

    Leaving the station …..

  • Irish Sweetness

    Mouths open on that defense.

    Just give it to Howard.

    • willbest

      Carey is bringing it

  • willbest

    Goodbye langford

  • BerwynBomber

    Quick fade to Alshon?

    • EnderWiggin

That is the play Hoyer thought was in there. Jeffery cut in though.

  • madscout12

    The fuck, Birdcage?

  • BerwynBomber

Hated that second down call. Miller lead-blocking?

  • Irish Sweetness

    FG attempt from the 5.

    Carousel begins …

  • Scharfinator

    Hoyer totally missing the RB

  • Cubsnlinux

    Hoyer irritates me

  • PaceBot 2000

It feels weird. We are fairly consistent but just can’t fucking score.

    • willbest

Not the first time in bears history the coaches forgot to draw up some red zone plays

    • Irish Sweetness

2nd in the league in YPP, but can’t score.

      Mr. Hoyer, please stand up.

  • Irish Sweetness

Why do you take the FG and it’s still only a two score game?

  • PaceBot 2000

    Solution:
    Hoyer quarterback between the 20s
    Cutler inserted to finish

  • BerwynBomber

No RZ fades to Alshon. Is it Hoyer or Loggains?

    • EnderWiggin

      Yes.

    • Irish Sweetness

He can’t hit them. The dude has zero accuracy. Completion percentages don’t take into account he generally throws at the certainty.

      • BerwynBomber

Oh please. Short accuracy is his calling card. Knocking Hoyer is fine. But at leas knock him for something that’s not a strength. Like, say, arm strength.

  • willbest

Who said Tom terrific was having a bad game?

    • madscout12

Me. Then he got a penalty call and hasn’t looked back.

  • Irish Sweetness

Bortles has weapons downfield now that we’ve forced them to pass.

  • EnderWiggin

Christian Jones, and me – tell each other fairy tales.

  • BearDown100393

    SMH

  • willbest

    Challenge that shit oh wait

    • BearDown100393

      A hold?

      • willbest

        The bullshit personal foul

  • RenoBear

Where. The FUCK was the hold???? Eat fucking dicks NFLsnd the refs

    • madscout12

We don’t get holding calls. Most inconsistently called penalty there is.

    • Irish Sweetness

      Professional league reffed by amateurs.

    • madscout12

Remember last year’s Lions game. Last play where Lezbo heaves it down the field and you can see just to his left our DE getting dragged down by the neck?

      Never called.

      • RenoBear

That’s right. I think it was Wilkie young then, too

  • Irish Sweetness

Yup. Two boys that can beat you.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Fangio fucked up there.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Kevin Fucking James.

    • BearDown100393

      Lorenzen

      • Irish Sweetness

        is he a millionaire too?

  • BearDown100393

The idiot who cannot drive without accident protection is probably how she got pregnant in the first place.

    • willbest

      What?

  • BearDown100393

    Cut Jacoby Glenn.

  • BerwynBomber

Glenn’s been looking like shit for a few games now …

  • madscout12

This should be a fucking 3 score game.

    Fuck you, Zebras.

    Close this shit, bears.

  • BearDown100393

Who is the ex-con running the Jags offense?

  • RenoBear

The NFL product is so fucking subjective these days. Far too many referee variables. I’ve never been so disinterested in the NFL in my life, regardless of Bears record. I just have a real hard time giving even half a shit anymore. You can’t even watch a good play and enjoy it without cringing for a penalty flag. Meh. Whatever

    • BearDown100393

      Like watching basketball.

      • madscout12

        Or Soccer.

      • RenoBear

        Yep

    • willbest

Go back to letting the muggings happen

  • BerwynBomber

Two biggest plays so far? Carey’s drop and the call/no-call on WillieY.

  • BearDown100393

Alshon was 1 on 1 coverage and Hoyer never once looked to his right.

    • Irish Sweetness

Knows he can’t make that pass.

  • Irish Sweetness

When you can’t hit a pass longer than 10 yards it’s hard to convert on 3rd down.

  • RenoBear

Miami is a very unlikable team

  • chitownproud85

Oh loooordy. 13 point lead turns to 6, ball back to Jags…

The Football gods grow displeased when your offense moves 20-20 but have no points to show for it. Wrath incoming.

  • Irish Sweetness

Brian wouldn’t be effective against a good team. He just can’t make the ‘hard’ throws.

  • Irish Sweetness

Now Fangio rushes three. Bortles will eat our lunch.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Willie. Sweet.

    • madscout12

      Bear the fuck down.

  • BerwynBomber

    WillieY baby!!!!

  • Irish Sweetness

    RUN. RUN. RUN>

    • madscout12

      Keep that clock running.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Zach Miller TD coming up.

    • Cubsnlinux

      Don’t hold your breath

  • Cubsnlinux

    Most probable result…field goal

    • madscout12

      Don’t care. 2 score game.

  • Irish Sweetness

That should have been a run, Dowell.

  • madscout12

Carson Wentz with an amazing effortless 40 yard throw.

  • Cubsnlinux

What a cluster shit of red zone offense..pathetic

    • EnderWiggin

Jeffery standing in the endzone single covered by a 4’9″ guy.

  • BearDown100393

    Meridith uncovered.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Short FG attempt.

    Carousel begins …

  • Scharfinator

Hoyer is horrible at checking down to the RB

    • Irish Sweetness

Dude, his crosshairs are in the backfield.

  • RenoBear

Howard wide open too. Make a decision Hoyer

    • madscout12

We should call him “Pat Pat”.

      • Irish Sweetness

Bouncing around like a fucking Weeble patting his golden ball, just waiting for that 89% probability pass attempt to open up …

        • madscout12

Gotta keep those stats up. Doesn’t matter if you don’t win games as long as you don’t throw a pick.

          • Irish Sweetness

It looks like that’s exactly what he’s about. He’s filling out his resume. At least it eats up the clock.

Allen Robinson still has to score.

    • Scharfinator

Missed it the last 3rd down in the red zone as well

      • Irish Sweetness

        He misses by chain-lengths.

        • Scharfinator

I mean he just didn’t see it.

  • Irish Sweetness

Barf waiting for the dying seconds of the game to screw the pooch.

    (edit)

    • madscout12

The name is Barf, and he’s earned that name.

  • Cubsnlinux

Hoyer and Bird Cage lose their collective shit in the red zone. Can’t keep leaving points on the field against anyone not Jags.

    • willbest

      Doesn’t bode well for thursday

      • Cubsnlinux

I will be happy if they don’t lose by more than 2 TD on Thursday

        • BearDown100393

          Bears are winning on Thursday.

          • EnderWiggin

            Cutty?

          • BearDown100393

            Either way.

  • willbest

Why didn’t the jags go for 2

    • Cubsnlinux

      Because they are the Jags

  • EnderWiggin

    Gus Bus.

  • willbest

So help me if we blow this

  • madscout12

How is it not 1st and 25?

    • willbest

      Offensive lives matter

    • Scharfinator

Because the NFL rule book is a labyrinthian nightmare

  • madscout12

    Jes!

  • willbest

    Survivor is still going on?

  • willbest

Alright Hoyer, 8 minute offense get it done

    • madscout12

Can’t score more than 17. That’s his MO.

      • Scharfinator

It violates a clause in his contract.

  • madscout12

    Hoyer, you fucking Moron.

  • willbest

Yes let’s win this one with ou D. That’s a good idea

  • Cubsnlinux

I am now totally convinced..Hoyer is an imbecile..just pure donkey shit

  • willbest

    Saints D is still dogshit

  • Irish Sweetness

The commentator just called Hoyer accurate. He’s been looking at stats. Won’t lose you the game, won’t win it. perfect for DeShaun Watson.

  • Cubsnlinux

Bortles had 900 minutes to throw that ball

  • madscout12

It’s OK, Bears. Don’t win this one when you have them on the ropes. Just let them back into the game.

    Fuck me.

  • Cubsnlinux

    ZERO pass rush…ZERO coverage..WTF?

    • Scharfinator

Exhausted. We haven’t sustained a drive in the 2nd half.

Maybe one now that I think about it? Maybe

  • Irish Sweetness

Freeman got suckered on that one.

  • willbest

    …..

  • willbest

    Fuck it

  • Cubsnlinux

    Wow…what a shit show

  • Scharfinator

Hahhaah called it – we let them stick around

  • Cubsnlinux

Thank the gods for the Cubs

  • madscout12

    He was fucking down.

    • willbest

      No he wasn’t

    • madscout12

      Awe, fuck me.

  • Irish Sweetness

This is where you need Jay Cutler .. y’know .. .a quarterback.

    • Cubsnlinux

Amen..Jags wanted to give away the game all afternoon on a silver platter and Hoyer said no thanks

  • BearDown100393

    Hoyer’s got this.

  • RenoBear

    Funny thing is…. I feel nothing…. SMDH

  • Punk Captain Unlike Killer Ray

    Tracy Porter, ladies and gents!

    • willbest

He took 7 away at the start and gave it back

  • madscout12

Hoyer, time to violate that clause in your contract and put up 3.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Barf warming up.

    SMH.

  • willbest

    At least we hav brath

  • Cubsnlinux

I think if Bears lose..Cutler is going to be “healed” for Thu?

    • Scharfinator

Gosh I hope not, he never beats the Pack

  • Scharfinator

I bet Hoyer takes us to the red zone and Barf barfs.

    • Punk Captain Unlike Killer Ray

      #barfed

    • willbest

If he does, I better see Pace walking out onto the field with his walking papers

  • madscout12

Awesome. Throw it behind the line. Going the right way.

  • Irish Sweetness

Jay will look like a different QB with Cam and Jordan.

    • EnderWiggin

      And decent play calling.

      • Scharfinator

I suspect that will go out the window again. Either through Jay or Birdcage’s choice

  • EnderWiggin

That red line for Barf distance is a fekkin joke.

  • willbest

    Heh 52 yards…

  • BearDown100393

52 yards is out of range.

  • madscout12

Uh, flag? Lead with the helmet and leaves his feet?

  • EnderWiggin

“miscommunication” from Hoyer/Jeffery = 10 yards past the line of scrimmage.

  • willbest

    What the shit was that

  • BearDown100393

    That did nothing.

  • willbest

    Lost the guard… Fuckng great

  • beninnorcal

    Great, Sittin’s hurt.

    • Bender McLugh

He was hurt early in the game and played through it

  • madscout12

10 yards….too long. He doesn’t have the arm.

  • EnderWiggin

How did he look walking off? Is he OK?

    • beninnorcal

      limping

  • willbest

    Fud

  • Huge Bears Penis

    Hoyer Sucks

  • beninnorcal

    Nice throw, Hoyer.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Miss ya, Cutty.

    • Scharfinator

Yeah, think he would have won this one. He always manages to beat the shit teams.

    • willbest

Not really. Cutler makes that same throw with the same result

      • Scharfinator

He makes it a yard further inside

      • Irish Sweetness

Nope. He marches down the field hitting meredith and Howard.

Cutty is Mr. 2 Minute Drill. He’d love Cam.

        • MB30SD

Then throws the heart wrenching int or gets strip sacked on the 10… you choose which is better

          • Bender McLugh

            Disagree this game

          • MB30SD

Thasss the problem, you just never know my maings. Over the rollercoaster. My new motto. Time to move on anyway. Time is right

          • Bender McLugh

            Agree

          • madscout12

Gotta go young. Damn shame we didn’t this year.

          • MB30SD

            Vince?!?!

      • EnderWiggin

he makes that throw 30mph faster.

      • beninnorcal

I think Cutler puts more stank on that one, more velocty there and you have a first.

        • madscout12

That last drive is where Cutty makes his money.

  • EnderWiggin

If some dumb fuck comes in and says that Jeffery should have fought for that 10mph fastball: I’m gonna lose my shit.

  • madscout12

Hoyer, “Well, coach, I got my 16. Not a point more or else my contract is void. I’ll put up some yards though. Just to pad my stats.”

  • Irish Sweetness

    DeShaun Watson!

    • Bender McLugh

lol who else if not him?

  • BearDown100393

    11-5

  • madscout12

    That’s ball game.

    Fuck you, bears.

  • willbest

Detroit has 31… Stafford must have been playing with a concussion against us

  • Punk Captain Unlike Killer Ray

Not enough fans left in the stands to boo at the end

    • willbest

      I heard the booing

      • Malice Halice

The loss was that bad? How did we blow the lead?

    • Cormonster

Did Soldier Field have a lot of no-shows today? That’s what the reporter implied during live in game updates on the radio.

  • MB30SD

    We are…. turrible, no?

    • Bobby Douglass

      Well…. yeah.

    • willbest

But we couldn’t be worse than Cleveland because we hate #1 draft pics

      • MB30SD

We don’t hate them, we just have zero clue how to properly use them

  • BearDown100393

    Go Cubs!

  • Huge Bears Penis

on the plus side Hoyer has the record now for most consecutive 300+ yard games. How is that working out for us?

  • Punk Captain Unlike Killer Ray

Here is Jeff, on BACK TO BACK TWITS!

Jesus. This team is so poorly coached.
Play calling not the issue. Players are.

Which is it??? (Hint: It’s both)

    • MB30SD

      Go home Jeff, you’re drunk

  • madscout12

Zebras gave them 7 and took away 3 from us. But still have to mother fucking close. But you can’t with Pat Pat.

  • Punk Captain Unlike Killer Ray

Alshon high fiving all his Jag pals. He’s like “fuck, I am so out of this team next year, be great to come down here and play.”

  • willbest

    ODB folks

    • madscout12

But he has to get an Unsportsmanlike.

  • beninnorcal

Packers throw-back uniforms are fucking brutal to look at.

    • madscout12

      Packers regular unis are brutal.

      Fuck the Packers.

  • madscout12

Fuck this, boys. It’s Packer week.

Let’s go up north and piss in their Cheerios.

    • willbest

With 17 points. We got this

      • madscout12

        Or Fewer!

    • Huge Bears Penis

I heard Packer fans consider piss in Cheerios a delicacy.

      • madscout12

Piss yellow is one of their colors. The fat fucks.

  • willbest

    Unbelievable

    • madscout12

      We don’t have football anymore.

      • willbest

Roughing the passer to give flacco 4 more shots at the endzone

  • Huge Bears Penis

    AAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • onenation

Can someone, anyone please convince the McCaskey to sell this team. Please I can’t take this shit much longer! We need new ownership!

  • BerwynBomber

So when does Cutty finally come back?
Hoyer had his worst game since DAL but the drop by Carey and the call/no-call on WillieY were huge.

    • Huge Bears Penis

but he threw for 300 yards and no ints.

      • BerwynBomber

He played well against DET and IND. His stats were empty today. But kudos to him for not turning it over again. That has to be a record for us.

  • BerwynBomber

My God is the Saints D miserable. Seriously, it’s like three straight years of Mel Tucker ball for them. Blowing a 21-0 lead? Again?

    • willbest

They still won because Brees knows how to score 30+ points on the regular.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Soo Bears these days.

  • willbest

oh hey my opponent has ODB and Drew Brees this week. /wrist

    • AlbertInTucson

I have ODB in my league. Hoping I didn’t run up against Shady McCoy.

  • AlbertInTucson

You KNEW when they had to settle for 3 again it was going to end like this.

    • willbest

Its hard to find positives in this game. Cam has back to back legit games? Thats about it.

      • AlbertInTucson

        How about THIS “Positive”:

We’re POSITIVE this team is not going 12-4.

  • willbest

    Last 4 games

    Hoyer averaging 326 ypg
    offense averaging 428 ypg
    turnovers per game: 0.75
Offensive points per game – 18.25

    • AlbertInTucson

      SMH.

      • madscout12

Low risk football. You’re in the game but you can’t win it. Only not lose it.

    • madscout12

Averaging 18.25 AND averaging 100 yard rushing per game. Fuck you, Hoyer.

  • BuddhaJoe

Well at least this should put to bed the idiocy of leaving Hoyer in as the starter. Too bad Shaw’s leg exploded.

    • Huge Bears Penis

you would think but there are a lot of idiots out there.

    • BerwynBomber

Cutty was always the better bet. But he has also been out five weeks with a sprain. No guarantee he is ready THURS

      • willbest

He didn’t look particularly happy when they cut to him once in the game. seemed to be agitated by what he was looking at on his surface.

        • Johnnywad

Probably real estate data from Greater Miami

  • willbest

Meanwhile Dak Prescott is on his way to rookie of the year. Fuck. when is the last time pulled a pro-bowler out of the 4th round or below.

    • RenoBear

      Briggs?

      • willbest

Just checked, he was a 3rd rounder. But yeah that is the type of thing I am looking for.

        • madscout12

I want it at the QB position.

    • Huge Bears Penis

did Melton ever make the PB?

      • Huge Bears Penis

just checked Melton did make a PB in his 3rd year.

  • madscout12

There goes Dak’s interception streak. Hoyer for the lead next week.

    • AlbertInTucson

      Ruled a fumble.

      • AlbertInTucson

        I agree.

  • madscout12

    Oh, fuck off, ref!

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

Oh NO, no no no no. Don’t you dare tell me the Bears just lost to the Jags. No you don’t!!#

    • Bender McLugh

Sauron should have seen this coming

      • madscout12

I don’t know why Eye didn’t see it.

  • burntorangenavyblue

    We need HEART and FIRE…

Who in the world will bring that for us if Fox gets canned? The McCaskeys really do not want a coach that has passion, ugh!

Next year, new coach and staff that want to play smash mouth football, and get younger…..DRAFT JABRILL PEPPERS. He will lead defenses to greatness.

    • madscout12

I’ll take Brains over Heart and Fire. Competent coaching on both sides of the ball.

We had that last year. We have it on one side this year.

      • Johnnywad

Thought we had that in Trestman. Not so much.

        • madscout12

No. The defensive staff did not have brains. They were not competent.

      • burntorangenavyblue

Have you been watching the past few years? Cryptkeeper? ……yikes

        • madscout12

          Mel Tucker.

  • Johnnywad

I couldn’t watch the game today. I gotta say it’s been years since I’ve missed a game and truly didn’t give a shit. Today, I didn’t give a single shit. It felt good not to get tangled up in it. The score and the stat line looks exactly like I might have guessed. Predictable, boring, frustrating.

I can’t remember being this numb to the Chicago Bears.

    • Big Mike

Made the decision to watch the Cubs on Thursday very easy. This game was awful even when we were winning. I know that the Bears are a terrible team, because I watched Jacksonville play extremely bad football. Awful at everything. And they beat us.

      • Johnnywad

Sucks doesn’t it? Cubs it is.

        • Big Mike

I have no idea what is wrong with this team. Injuries, yeah. But the outcome is much less than the sum of the parts. O-line looks good, RB – check. Time of Possession, Turnovers, check, check. Hell the punter even made a decent play. I know it’s easy to point at red zone production, but that’s something that should be sorted out in August. Jacksonville didn’t do anything to stop us. So they doubled Alshon. Beautiful. Sets up so many options. Fuck. I’m typing this and starting to care. A decade of this shit.

      • RenoBear

Ahhh… The Cubs won’t even be playing Thursday… 4-0 sweep!

    • RenoBear

Exactly how I feel man. It sucks to be numb and completely indifferent to da beloved

  • willbest

Fox is safe, because every coach below him is worse than he is. Hoyer is safe because Jay hasn’t thrown a football in 4 weeks.

  • willbest

Hoyers stats which I listed down, are why we can’t quit Jay. Deadspin is right, we are never getting rid of him. He is going to camp out on the 50 yard line until the end of time.

    • BerwynBomber

Yeah, Hoyer was completely empty calories today. Misleading stats. He play well against IND and DET but not today.

And he will never be as good as Jay. Hoyer = excellent back-up. Limited starter.

  • Big Mike

This is a bad football team.

    • willbest

How is it a worse team that last year though? How did we fucking regress?

      • Big Mike

Hope for a quickie 2 year turnaround to be contending for the playoffs is gone. Hope that Kevin White will be the missing ingredient is gone. Bennet/Miller as a strong pair of TEs gone. I can keep going.

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

With or without the injured starters?

      • Big Mike

Don’t know. But “without injuries” isn’t a reality. I watched the Jaguars who played horribly, without a single player that I would want to add to the Bears roster, best us. The emphasis for me is that this is a bad TEAM. There are bright spots emerging. But it’s just a bad team.

  • madscout12

So who’s it gonna be? Watson? Trubisky?

    • MB30SD

      Watson has looked pretty good

      • madscout12

I want two. Take someone with the top pick and look for a guy in the 3rd/4th. Too many busts not to.

        • madscout12

And I think either Watson or Trubisky could run our offense today.

        • MB30SD

          I’m in

  • Huge Bears Penis

Looks like the Packers should quit honoring Favre in any way. Favre is being added to the ring of “honor” and they are losing.

    • burntorangenavyblue

Didn’t they honor him last year on Thanksgiving? How many ceremonies does the dongle need?

      • BearDown100393

If it means the Cheese losing, go ahead and honor the dongle every home game.

        • Huge Bears Penis

If it means the Cheese losing we should honor him at Soldier Field too.

          • BearDown100393

            That works also

  • BuddhaJoe

I could accept that the Bears were rebuilding if they were actually getting better. They’re getting worse.

  • BerwynBomber

The Cheese suck. Wonder if McCarthy might get the axe at seaon’s end.

  • BearDown100393

The Cheese sponsored today by Kraft Mac Dinner

    • madscout12

Fuck them. They deserve to spend a decade in NFL purgatory. 8-8 every season. No playoffs. No high draft pick. No MTV. No Twisted Sister.

      • BearDown100393

And wear those fuglies every game.

  • BearDown100393

    Lacy is fat (again)

  • BearDown100393

    Who starts first?
    A. Romo after a broken back
    B. Jay after a sprained thumb

    • madscout12

      B.

      And Vadgers picked! AHAHAHAHAH!!!

      • BearDown100393

        A nice tribute to #4

  • BerwynBomber

Good lord does Rodgers look bad. Might have been the worst pick I’ve ever seen from the guy.

    Practice squad bad.

    • madscout12

      Nobody comes into this house…

      • BerwynBomber

Used to be. But fuck he looked awful last week against the G-Men too. Two Lambeau INTS in that game.

      • BearDown100393

        And loses.

  • BearDown100393

Can Favre show up Thursday night?

    • madscout12

      Let’s buy him a ticket.

  • BearDown100393

The Cheese should hire Trestman to run the offense.

    • madscout12

And Tucker to run the defense.

      • madscout12

        I can see it now.

“We really need to grow the men and have poise in the noise.” Runs screens every play.

“On D, we teach our guys to punch WR out of their lanes. We need to stop the run.” Opponent gets 6 yds per carry.

  • willbest

Cowboys are making me feel better

  • madscout12

AHAHAHAHAH!!! Vadgers playing like Cutler on a bad day.

This is some 2014 Cutty shit. And he has a decent D.

    • burntorangenavyblue

So no different than 30 other quarterback on a bad day?

      • madscout12

Yes, but with a decent line and defense. Unlike 2014 Cutty.

    • BerwynBomber

Somewhat. Jay has some five INT games in his past. We’re not quite there yet.

      • madscout12

The crazy thing was, both that 5 INT game and the 4 INT game against the Skins, he was a play away from winning.

Nobody can every say Jay wasn’t a baller. Stuff just didn’t go his way sometimes.

        • BerwynBomber

Yeah, but that was because both that SF and WAS teams sucked ass. Plus, our D was bad ass then. Jay was blessed in that way. I think we turned McNabb over like three times ourselves in that WAS game.

Bradford is living that life now.

          • madscout12

            Yeah.

I still say we should have won that fucking Skins game. 3rd and Goal at the 1, Cutty reaches out, crosses the plane, and has the ball slapped out. Call….fumble. Every other QB gets the call there.

Then, not 2 min later, this happened: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRInQyUV16k

  • BerwynBomber

    Rodgers fucking up again.

But that is also why McCarthy sucks. First and goal at the two and he goes empty backfield and five wide. He’s always way too cute.

  • AlbertInTucson

    THAT is TOO funny!

“Oh, I’ll SHOW ‘EM! I’ll take it myself!’

    LOL!

  • BearDown100393

    Vadgers playing punch drunk.

  • madscout12

Fuck you Dak. Don’t piss in my Cheerios. Stomp these chumps.

  • BerwynBomber

McCarthy with his “Full House” backfield. Ooooooo … scary …

  • BerwynBomber

Rodgers getting booed by the home crowd. hah!!!

    • Johnnywad

He doesn’t look well. Far less the smug bastard of old.

      • madscout12

Sucks to throw to guys that don’t get open and hand the ball off to a fat ass, doesn’t it.

Also, we sucked after we got rid of Clutts. They suck now that Kuhn isn’t there.

  • BerwynBomber

Favre has to be secretly loving this.

  • RenoBear

The announcers being befuddled about how a penalty isn’t called to help out their buddy Erin. God I hate the packers. Nothing wrong with a little schadenfreude

  • RenoBear

And Favre DOES love the fact that the fudge are losing

  • BerwynBomber

    This is a rout.

  • madscout12

    Stick a fork in them.

  • willbest

    That is how you close.

  • BerwynBomber

Would they pull Rodgers here? It’s within the realm of possibility.

    • madscout12

You know what would make this better? The bears coming in next week and fucking curb stomping them.

The Chargers beat the Broncos this week, BTW.

      • BearDown100393

Thursday night worked out well last time.

      • BerwynBomber

We could do it. The Cheese are not a very good team. And Rodgers is a completely different player now.

        • willbest

Our D isn’t holding Rodgers to 17 points.

          • BerwynBomber

Did you watch him the last two weeks? Against NYG and DAL? At home no less?

Look, the guy is a HoFer, but except for the post-season last year, he has looked like crap for a year.

          • willbest

I get that, but we don’t blitz and our CBs don’t turn their heads.

          • madscout12

And they are playing us, not the Cowboys. The refs will re-learn how to throw laundry.

          • madscout12

Although, maybe we’ll run the ball against this garbage D.

          • BerwynBomber

Irish’s guy Glenn has plummeted ever since Stafford threw that INT to him.

      • SC Dave

No… we are going to be the best 1-15 team you’ve ever seen. In a season when there is no HoF QB to take in the first round.

  • BerwynBomber

The ONLY potential bad thing about this — and hey, I’m not complaining — is that the Cheese will fire McCarthy and go out and hire a Cowher or Gruden (Jon).

I’m convinced that both McCarthy and S. Payton are two average HC’s who were gifted a couple of HoF QBs.

    • madscout12

Gosh, it would be nice to see the Cheese thrash a bit between HCs.

  • willbest

Alright, Eliot took a couple weeks to get going but he is looking every bit as good as his draft.

    • madscout12

      That O-Line helps.

      • SC Dave

It helped Emmitt too. But in the end, Smith had almost 5,000(!!!) touches. If Zeke gets to half that, it will be a strong career.

  • willbest

    Going down inbounds… Awesome

  • BerwynBomber

Meanwhile, ATL/SEA might be locked in an early game of the year battle.

    • willbest

Sob… Matt Ryan is on my bench

  • madscout12

You know what I hate about living in TX. CBS folds like crazy. They show the morning game, and then quit if the Cowboys are the game of the week, which is every other week.

    • BerwynBomber

Well, in some ways we get the same shit with Bears. I mean we get the Bears every week but we can miss decent second games because of it.

    • willbest

I don’t think it works exactly like that. There are complicated rules.

      • madscout12

I prefer to believe that TX just doesn’t like football that much.

        • Johnnywad

Aren’t there like $5M high school football stadiums in TX?

          • madscout12

Yes, yes there are. I’ve marched at some.

There was one in Dallas that was about a 20K stadium with grasstroturf.

          • MB30SD

            Marched?

          • madscout12

I did 4 years of marching band and 2 years of Drum and Bugle Corps. I marched a corps out of Madison Wisconsin…my sig is a picture of me in it. I got to see a lot of stadiums, including the RCA dome where the colts used to play, Camp Randall, and New Era Field, where the Bills play. In NY, we played for about 10K+ people and it was awesome. Quite a gas to hear 10K going nuts for something you just did.

          • MB30SD

            Nice

    • Cormonster

I believe it rotates every week where Fox gets two games one week and CBS one, and then vise-versa the next week.

  • BearDown100393

    The Cheese are embarrassing.

    • MB30SD

      Fuck them

  • madscout12

The Seahawks get away with more shit…

  • BerwynBomber

MIN is for real. But otherwise the NFCN is kind of a shit division.

  • BerwynBomber

Breeze threw for nearly 500 yards today against CAR. He also became the fifth QB to throw for 50K yards for one team. The others: Peyton (IND), Elway (DEN), Brady (NE) and Favre (GB).

    • Scharfinator

      50k? or 5k?

      • willbest

        50k

        • Scharfinator

Oh shit, misread Berwyn’s post. Thought it say he’d thrown for 50k against CAR.

          • willbest

oh yeah, that would be impressive.

          • BerwynBomber

Sorry, might’ve been sloppily worded …

          • Scharfinator

Nah, it’s on me. Just being a bad reader.

          • willbest

I did go do the math for you. This was the 21st time Brees has played the Panthers, and he ~6228 passing yards against them (including lost yards to sacks).

    • AlbertInTucson

And all 5 own Super Bowl rings.

      • BerwynBomber

Yeah, it’s quite an august list. Especially impressed by Elway’s appearance on it. Pre-dates all the others and Dan Reeves was a notoriously conservative HC.

  • BearDown100393
    • BerwynBomber

That’s good. But this is still the best …

      • SC Dave

Ahw jeez, he jus hurt himself…

(gawd, how does one type that nasal Chicago woman accent?)

    • SC Dave

      What a fucking tool

  • Joecashflow

Just Remember, 2-3 glasses of wine a day reduces the chances of giving a shit.

  • SC Dave

    CLASSIC Bears.

Offense looks ok, until you need them.
Defense looks good, until you need them.

My 51 years as a Bears fan totally defined.

It’s time to finally admit that I have a problem. An addiction.

    • SC Dave

But, when the game was on, I was in the NC mountains, sweating with my trekking poles in as beautiful place as exists in our world. So at least there is that.

      • MB30SD

        Trekking poles

  • SC Dave

2016 Chicago Bears: the best looking 1-15 team in NFL history.

  • RenoBear

Oh yeah….FUUUCCCCKKK Clayton Kershaw. Man I wish Baez shot to center went ten more feet

  • AlbertInTucson

I’m sure it was covered but picking up that interference flag on Meredith because the ball was deemed “uncatchable” was atrocious.

    • madscout12

Especially because they called a similar PI on us earlier when the ball was 5 yards OB and 10 yards in front of the WR.

    • BerwynBomber

So was Carey’s drop and the no holding call on WillieY’s roughing. Those were the two biggest plays in the game IMV.

  • BerwynBomber

Good lord is Osweiler bad. He makes Hoyer’s performance against IND look positively Brady-like.

    • AlbertInTucson

      But, he IS well paid!

  • BerwynBomber

R-berger with torn meniscus. Out indefinitely.

Make your SB reservations, New England.

  • BerwynBomber

Wow, Colts are gonna gag this. Still can’t believe they gave Pagano a new contract in the off-season. That was crazy.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Good night, Indy.

  • AlbertInTucson

That int Luck forced was like throwing away 3 points.
