Money Mouth

Nine games over for the season. Need a 2-1 finish this week to set up an all-or-nothing Super Bowl to reach my coveted a 10 games over for the year.

Patriots -3 over Broncos / Panthers -3 over Cardinals

Two best teams in the league meet in the Super Bowl.

Patriots & Broncos Under 45

I had the final score at 27-17 Patriots. That’s 44. Works for me.

    We got this!

  • Shady

    Let’s caption the photo:

“Guurrrlllll, I sweater gawdd I saw those same shoes half off at Payless.”

    • MB30SD

      Where there’s smoke…. there’s fiiiiiiiyaaaahhhh!

  • MB30SD

“Iiiiiiiiiiiii’m sorry I kinda sucked when I was a bear, but at least I’m really good now…feeeeeer another team”

  • MB30SD

    Broncos v AZ

elway gets his soul crushed a second year in a row .

    • burntorangenavyblue

      You not big on him?

      • MB30SD

I actually couldn’t give a smaller fuck if I was a midget about any of it burndt.

I ain’t gots no horses in dis race. I just wonder if Peyton can muster one more miracle today. If he can, they’ll get spanked by what I hope if the cards in the bowl.

Other than that, I’m just gussin like erra one else.

        • CanadaBear

Your midget line reminded me of a funny line I read the other day, “Happier than a midget at a mini-skirt convention”.

        • The GP

Peyton’s legacy is ultimately to be less successful than his little brother.

          • MB30SD

Sad cause his little brother is a fucking retard (sorry)

          • willbest

I would bet money, that the reason Peyton didn’t retire this year is because he wants to be even on SB rings.

          • CanadaBear

He certainly wouldn’t be the first athlete that couldn’t get off the stage.

  • willbest

I am more excited for the NFCC than whatever the SB ends up being. My super bowl rooting priority is CAR > AR >>> DEN > NE.

However, If Brady is going to win the Super Bowl this year and announce his retirement going out in epic fashion, I will get on board. Watching Peyton play at Chad Pennington level, and get benched for it has been painful.

  • burntorangenavyblue

Imagine if Manning decided to go to a team in the NFC and he faced Brady in the Superbowl. The media, as nauseating as they already are, would be on another level of nut gargling on those two men.

    • Doc Nitty

Congress would have to enact an emergency moratorium on the illegality of suicide.

  • MB30SD

Bought and watched Specter last night.

Was ok. Everyone just seemed to be half sleeping through it all. Waltz, who’s one of my favorite actors and is usually uber brilliant, was just a guy. Not scary or menacing or interesting in any way whatsoever.

Bond was lackadaisical about everything, even the car chase in Rome was lame.

Sigh… time for a new bond and a reboot.

    What did you guys think?

    • The GP

      same.

Waltz needs Tarantino to give him delicious dialog to work with. He wasn’t a modern interpretation of Blofeld, he was just Bond’s psycho friend from grammar school. We all knew one of them. His. however, helmed a criminal empire.

An organization so secret that it has evaded detection by MI6 and the CIA its whole life, even creating a “dummy” organization in Quantum to hide what it is – all that – and they guards allow people past with a ring and a passcode? While they meet in a church hall? Were they posing as Jesus freaks with million dollar cars to throw off the cops? No crypto in the ring? Come on.

All of Craig’s Bonds have been written by a guy named Neal Purvis. He’s written, what I think, history will regard as some pretty flat Bond movies. It’s like bad Top Gear – you can make it about the great cinematography and location shoots if you want to, but if Clarkson is moping then the show sucks. Same here.

It was re-invented 75% of the way to be more modern and more Bourne like, then spent the next films trying to crawl back to it’s origins and just play homage to older – better – scenes like the train car fight. Star Wars did the same thing – it was actively TRYING to be the ’77 original.

I think both franchises have jumped the shark but they still make a lot of money and the suits will milk it since other things they try go nowhere.

Since they ripped off Bourne to feed this series, they will now go rip off John Wick to feed the next series.

      • willbest

You triggered my TFA beef. I get why the prequel had to be so incestuous. But now with the post-prequel-sequels you come to the conclusion that there are a trillion people in the galaxy and in a roughly 100 year period of history only 12 actually matter.

    • Doc Nitty

Your allegiance to Bond is like my allegiance to the Rocky franchise . I will continue watching them and loving them no matter how bad the movies get.

      • MB30SD

        True story my maingses

      • willbest

I heard Creed was decent. Incidentally, Stallone has carved himself out a niche resurgence after Hollywood wrote him off.

        • Doc Nitty

I shamefully admit that I have not yet seen it.

        • MB30SD

I love the RDJ (rob dow jr) story. Down and out felon and drug addiction becomes a badass ironman… and sherlock holmie. Awesome story

          • Doc Nitty

Yes. Solid comeback story. Two great characters. To say nothing of this guy: http://youtu.be/X6WHBO_Qc-Q

          • MB30SD

Yeah, I didn’t mention it because it’s such a diff role.

That said, he 100% should have won an oscar for that role man. about 20 minutes in I TOTALLY forgot that Osirus was RDJ. Amazing performance, just amazing.

          • willbest

Did you see Kiss Kiss Bang Bang? I feel that was RDJ in all his glory.

          • MB30SD

yeah, liked it, didn’t love it. to me that’s the old RDJ. The new is ironman and SH. Love both series

          • willbest

I actually see Kiss Kiss Bang Bang as the beginning of his redemption. It was the first time post rehab that anybody trusted him with a mainstream leading role, and I doubt Disney would have trusted him with Iron Man without it.

          • MB30SD

it just seemed similar to the frenetic, spastic, drug addled rolls he’d had before. I actually thought he was still using in that film since it was so weird… but I saw it a long time ago, so maybe I’m just forgetting

    • Cormonster

How about a reboot with Quentin Tarantino writing and directing? I’d go see that.

      • MB30SD

        Ohhhhhh, iiiiiinteresting.

But no, can’t fuck that much with the formula. Well, maybe….

    • DaMurph

I liked it a lot. But you know I’m Fucking old so I’m easily entertained

      • MB30SD

Yes… based on that last pick you texted me too. How old was she, 14? Yikes. hahaha

        • DaMurph

          21

        • DaMurph

That’s a sign of old age when you start thinking chicks in their 20s are 14. Haha

          • MB30SD

hahahaha, I couldn’t tell since you keep sending me shots from behind.

You know I’m a boob man! And you won’t look any more creepy taking the pic from the front than the back. hahahaha the other chick in the shot caught you taking it anyway.

          • DaMurph

Ill get some fronts for ya!! They require a more stealthy approach!

          • Doc Nitty

            Murph, you old DOG!

  • Doc Nitty

Having a hard time getting fired up about what is normally my favorite weekend in football.

What do you ‘spose is the over/under on how many shots of MakersMark Kentucky White Lightning it will take to get me there? With Henry Weinhards and Vape chasers of course.

Happy Championship Sunday boys! I’m pulling for Peanut in the NFC and the elusive double loss in the AFC.

    • The GP
      • Doc Nitty

Thanks GP. I wish you were here too, bro.

      • CanadaBear

Love the song about Syd Barrett but not crazy about this version. I’m always amazed that people pay good money to see shows and then talk through the entire thing.

        • Doc Nitty

          #women

          • CanadaBear

Makes me crazy when the band is doing a quiet song or old Leather Lungs is right behind me and can speak over a loud band. My Honey Bunny told a guy to hold it down (in a very nice way) a week ago at the Rhythm Room. He actually did quiet down for a few minutes. Fortunately Chatty Charlie left after the first set.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

I here ya. This is usually my fav football day, then the draft.

      SB is too over-hyped. It’s 3rd.

  • MB30SD

for all you gadget whores like me.

I just picked up the MSFT Surface Pro 4 along with the snap-attachable keyboard cover and the curvy mouse. Pretty awesome tech, loving it so far. My Chief Architect just raved about it, so thought I’d give it a shot (since my levono was blue-screen-of-deathing every day or so)

    • DaMurph

Knew you’d like the curvy mouse. They need to invent a mouse that looks like a tit for you.

    • MB30SD

      Thanks for the upvote murph.

The surface is a “computer” that hooks up to the “internet” and also functions as a “tablet”. FYI (“for your information”)

      • DaMurph

I knew that MB, I was thinking of getting one. I know I’m old but I still have a little left in the tank

        • MB30SD

I was kidding my brother. Just fucking with you. haha

          • DaMurph

Very much knew you were . I was sitting here laughing at your witty self.

          • DaMurph

As often as you told me to quit texting I know you knew I have a bit of tech savvy. HA!

          • MB30SD

hahaha, you’re like a machinegun with that thing!

            Ding!
            Ding!
            Ding!
            Ding!
            Ding!

          • Trac

What, you were sexting MB? Hee hee.

    • willbest

We have a surface pro 2. Its still going strong. I can’t get away from dual monitor desktop for work though.

      • MB30SD

Yeah, I get it. Most of my guys use the 35-40″ duals, but I don’t need that shit. Mobility and portability are much more important for me. This is actually the first time I’ve used a mouse in about 10 years… I’ve just used my laptop’s touch pad.

        • The GP

Most of “your guys”? What do you do?

Wait I know: Male Gigalo web chat sex. Trailer park ladies paying $9.99/hr. to diddle themselves on webcam to some smoky toned abs. It’s like Magic Mike with computers and you are McCaughney.

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiTaK3Fyj0k

  • MB30SD

I HATE Jim Rome. Such a fucking douche

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLU6m3SP9mo

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

What I think it comes down to is two things.

    1. Which teams makes less drops (the yips)
    2. Which team turns it over less

    Simple formula.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Travathan, Jackson for us next year, por favor.

    • MB30SD

travathan and BMarsh is my wet dream

  • Doc Nitty

    What happened to Stephen Jackson?

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

      He got old?

      • MB30SD

        you mean…

        He got old.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

So, this is what the NFL wanted.
6 straight passes to open up the game.

  • MB30SD

    that hit was ridonkulous

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

      Shea-ish!

      • MB30SD

        Hahahahaha, right. exactly like that.

  • MB30SD

is it just me or is peyton throwing like shit. he still looks injured

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

How many here are rooting for the Donkeys just to spite Barb?

    • MB30SD

nah, I don’t really care… I just like the story that peyton pulls one more rabbit out the hat.

…before getting embarrassed again in the SB, this time by the cards D

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Peyton rolls out more than Cutty.
    Hopefully Loggains changes that.

    • willbest

Not during the season he wasn’t, at least not the games I saw him in. I think its the wrinkle they are bringing to this game.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

This is how a chip kelly O is supposed to run, well, the uptempo part, not the read-option jv stuff.

  • Cormonster

Owen Daniels is from Naperville. He was recruited to Wisconsin as a QB before switching to TE. Solid player.

  • willbest

Apparently you are allowed to block Gronk more than 5 yards past the LoS now. I wish the NFL would make all their handicap rules transparent.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Remember that lil stat. Guns Hochili 7-0 with donks…

    • MB30SD

      and another… damn.

    • willbest

Its not that bad. Its 6-1 (4-0 in Denver). Pats are 10-9 when he is the ref though (5-6 on the road).

  • MB30SD

where in thee fuck did wolf come from.

I guess when you have Ware on one side and Miller on the other, the guy in the middle is gonna have some optys.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

It took Wolf like 3 years to develop though.

      • MB30SD

so you’re saying there’s still a chance for OPS?!?!?!

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Hillman is a bozo. Jump on that ball. Football 101.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Again with the “Donkeys a tougher team this year” narrative. They don’t panic in close games like last year.

    Isn’t that calling Fox out?

  • willbest

    New York has spoken.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

    Haha. ONE turnover.

    Stupid teams tend to lose.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

If they’re at the 1, here comes the Brady sneak.
Couldn’t the HB have rolled in?

  • willbest

Don’t know why they are booing, if they called the ticky tack shit on the pats olinemen early that sure as hell was unnecessary.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

lol Jackson just bulldozed that guy. Old but tough.

    • willbest

      Well rested.

  • Doc Nitty

Ah. There’s Stephen Jackson. Go Beavs.

    • MB30SD

I ALWAYS root for beaver doc. ALWAYS.

  • willbest

    Holy hell

    • Huge Bear’s Penis

      cut him!

      • willbest

500 straight extra points… clearly in decline.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

    The yips

  • SC Dave

Tripped by the 20 yards line, so no pick 6 for Brady. A shame.

    • willbest

Patriots are only in this game due to a coaching decision to challenge.

  • SC Dave

    Denver’s RBs suck

    • willbest

Yes they do. I was surprised they traded for Verona Davis when they had such an apparent need at RB

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

And that’s the diff between an athletic TE who checked out (Davis) and a less athletic TE who does just enough to get open (Wilson).

You know what I’m saying here.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

haha. No tablets for the Pats.
    How does it FEEL Pats?

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

    LBs that cover! Imagine that!

    • MB30SD

did you just type something in chinese? no comprendo

  • MB30SD

damn, that was a nice throw

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

That’s a throw the Alex Smiths of the world don’t attempt.

  • BearDown100393

Feeling surprisingly nostalgic over the (most likely) last game of Brady-Manning.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

D doing a good job of mixing it up. They’re only going with 4 man rush, and sometimes even 3 man rush.
I guess the logic being if you can’t get to Brady in 2 seconds, then have dudes in coverage.

They can do this cuz the pats have no run game.

  • willbest

When 3 defenders are engaged in holding down the field, it was called that way.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

    Wade-V-Brady

  • willbest

Brady is looking like Palmer did last week.

    • BerwynBomber

Except that the DEN D is vastly superior and more opportunistic than the Cheese’s. Palmer could have been INTed 5 times against the GB. But they only got him once or twice.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Boy, that Donk D is flying. So good.

    • willbest

Looking a lot better than they did against Pittsburgh

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

They’re just explosive at every level. Miller, Ware, Wolf, Trevathan, Harris, Marshall, Roby, Jackson…led by Wade.

they really don’t have a weakness. Maybe the run? but the Pats aren’t gonna run it.

        • BerwynBomber

          Don’t forget Talib.

  • MB30SD

seriously with that fucking lame commercial.

    God marketing people are turrible.

    JUMPED. THE. SHARK.

  • MB30SD

wooooow, talk about the officials making the game about them. smfh.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

      Guns.

      • MB30SD

        idiot

        • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

He loves hamming it up, that’s for sure.

          • BearDown100393

            Retirement game.

    • willbest

That shouldn’t be a 15 yard penalty unless it affects the play.

      • MB30SD

        exactly. see above

…but this post was actually about them stopping the game and making them do it over because they weren’t fucking ready yet. who fucking cares.

  • MB30SD

that penalty was fucking ridiculous. had ZERO impact on the play, wasn’t on purpose, and wasn’t at all in the spirit of the reason it was put in place. absurd.

    • SC Dave

I assume that was the one called for the Pats on 3rd and long.

      • willbest

No the one where they flagged the gunner for stepping out of bounds and not getting back in bounds on an unreturnable punt

  • BearDown100393

Whiteboards and erasable markers never failed.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

The Pats are probably gun run more inside traps and draws now that they see the Donkeys only rushing 3 or 4

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

    Maliq! Future Bear!

  • willbest

Rogan and Schumer… what in the world did I do to be subjected to both of them simultaneously.

  • willbest

Rumor has it, Patriots plan on sneaking Chico into the Donks locker room at half time.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

McManus. 52 yarder. Kicks it out of endzone.

    The non-yips

    • BerwynBomber

Kicking in mile-high air doesn’t hurt either …

      • willbest

On the other side there is 16% less oxygen at Mile High

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Gould could kick it off on the moon, and it will still land on the 5.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Wow. What a P and coverage.
Looking at this game makes is like taking a cold shower.

We are really need to upgrade everything.

  • willbest

Look at that. Dueling old white boys huffing it for a dozen yards.

    • BearDown100393

      We’re gonna miss these games.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

I can’t believe in the next gen stats that Peyton hit 17MPHs like Brady!

  • BearDown100393

“He is drinking and hydrating.” Well yeah. That has been stated about 3 times now during the broadcast.

  • willbest

Von Miller is playing like he wants $50 million guaranteed.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Anderson always has big games vs Pats.

    • willbest

So now he is something like 12 for 40

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

For now, but he’s had like 100 yd games in the past two games vs them. That’s how it usually goes. Starts slow.

  • BearDown100393

New England is running out of gas. Thin air weakens the knees.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

    wow. Open

  • willbest

Peyton and the defense want to win. The receivers, not so much.

    • SC Dave

Peyton missed him. A decent throw was a td there.

      • BearDown100393

About as good as it will get for this version of Manning.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Kinda surprised the Pats aren’t switching to the traps and runs to counter the 3 man front.

Then again, they’re on their 4rth HB and the Donks have been shutting down the run even with 3 or 4.

Still, the classic counter is those runs.

It’s obvious what the Donks are doing on D.

Heavy dose of 3 front, put in extra guy in the middle negating Edleman, and punishing anyone who catches the dinks.

    • That Guy

Reminds me of the Superbowl last year. BB got interviewed at halftime about how the game was going and he basically said “nobody is really surprised by what’s happening on the field, just a matter of who executes better.”

Two extremely disciplined programs out there doing their best. The Broncos have the better players on the O-line, but the Pats are the Pats.

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

If the Pats lose, media will say they were stubborn and arrogant.
If they win, they’re disciplined and unrattled.

  • willbest

Brady is channeling his inner Alex Smith

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Ware played that perfectly. Didn’t over-pursue or lose his balance.
    CB didn’t get fooled.

    Solid discipline D.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

If Petyon goes 3 and out…D carrying him like Scherpas…

  • SC Dave

    Manning preparing the choke

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Thomas must be the most frustrating WR on the planet.
He can play like Megatron, but other times he just checks out like or has major drops like Bennett.

  • SC Dave

Manning has looked awful this half.

    • willbest

Denver is prone to playing only 30 minutes.

    • AlbertInTucson

Yeah, but, who is #88 and what did he do with Demarius thomas?

Maliq’s price range is shooting up 🙁

That Warcraft movie looks like somebody said “It would be awesome if we turned the battle of Helm’s Deep into an entire movie” and if that is the case, I would totally watch it.

    • Huge Bear’s Penis

name one movie based on a video game that was any good

      • willbest

Prince of Persia wasn’t horrible. But there is always a first time. Like the first Pirates movie was based on a theme park ride. A bad one at that.

        • MB30SD

Did you just say the pirates of the caribe is a bad fucking ride?!?!?!?!

Oh fucking no you di int!!!!!

It’s the best ride in that shit hole dude.

          You’re fucking dead to me

        • Irish Sweetness

Curse of the Black Pearl was good – that was based on a theme park ride.

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

        The original Tron?

        • Huge Bear’s Penis

Tron wasn’t based on a specific video game.

  • SC Dave

Denver’s offense has totally shit the bed this half.

    Absolutely brutal.

    • Scharfinator

They have a corpse for a QB, what do you expect?

  • SC Dave

Obviously, the d has to win for denver today

  • willbest

Maybe Brady will give us the Manning treatment next year.

Ah well, I suppose the lesser of two evils won, but here’s to one of the NFC teams closing the deal in two weeks.

          • BearDown100393

“Wife” must be a euphemism for Annabel Bowlen.

        • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

  • AlbertInTucson

Miss a PAT and it bites you in the ass almost every time, EVEN when you are Belicheat.

  • BearDown100393

Roger Goodell twists an ankle while running with scissors around his desk in celebration. Brady will be fined $5000 tomorrow.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Gostkowski missed a PAT.

    They should probably cut him.

  • MB30SD

    Oh well, herroooooooooo

  • AlbertInTucson

    Kickers.

Eventually they ALL cost you one, dearly.

    • That Guy

Last year, Brady had a great Superbowl, but would have lost if a fifth string CB didn’t make a play.

This year, Brady plays terrible, but would have had a chance to pull through in OT if the kicker doesn’t miss a PAT.

But in a year or two nobody will remember those other guys.

    • Jack Lacan

      We love kickers…

  • That Guy

I’ll be rooting for the NFC champions regardless of who wins this evening (and the same would have been true if the Pats won).

But wow, would be amazing if Manning won. First QB to win the SB with two teams. And second QB to retire the SB champion – and being cheered on by his GM who was the first to do it.

    • AlbertInTucson

      Denver’s pressure was awesome.

      • That Guy

Denver has the #1 defense in the NFL. Its hard to root against the #1 defense in the NFL in any year. (Look at the Broncos two years ago).

        • MB30SD

Their d is insane. Amazing to watch

        • Irish Sweetness

When your QB is Peyton Manning it’s REALLY easy.

    • BerwynBomber

And he had the worst regular season of any starting QB this year. By a mile.

      • Irish Sweetness

        9 TDs-17 INTs.

Now if Jay Christopher had those numbers he’d have been ridden out of the NFL.

          • burntorangenavyblue

The Denver atmospheric pressure still didn’t help Brady and his balls

  • BerwynBomber

Hard to trust Palmer at this point. He could have been picked off a half-dozen times in the last five quarters of post-season play.

Maybe he settles down but don’t know if it would be enough to inspire confidence in the SB.

    • AlbertInTucson

I think the finger is an issue but that INT was strictly terrible judgement.

  • BearDown100393

Carson Palmer looks like he is taking a dump in the backwoods.

  • BillW

Will Carolina have a lousy second half yet again? Or will they finally learn how to close it out right?

    • SC Dave

      Good question.

  • SC Dave

    PANTHERS!!!

So far, a fun evening here in Charlotte. .. I think this town is finally as excited as it should be by this team.

    • BillW

      Sounds like a great time

  • BillW

My theory of best qb wins in playoffs was proven wrong by Denver..

But clearly this game is too big for Palmer

    • willbest

Don’t know yet. Panthers don’t like to play the second half.

      • MB30SD

        And the birds do.

      • SC Dave

Maybe it will be better if they have to

    • Irish Sweetness

JFC, Jared Allen’s taint reeks wholesome awareness.

      • AlbertInTucson

Allen wanted to do homage to Jack Youngblood and play anyway.

  • BerwynBomber

    P. Peterson looking less than All-Pro in this game …

  • BearDown100393

    Brett Favre Tribute Night

  • BerwynBomber

Seriously, if the Cheese would have taken advantage of all Palmer’s mistakes last week, he would literally have close to 10 TOs in six quarters of post-season ball.

  • SC Dave

Wow… what an odd end to the half.

  • burntorangenavyblue

Smh, Cardinals should have pounded the ball a few more plays. It worked on their last scoring drive. A lot of game left to risk bombing the ball like that.

    • AlbertInTucson

Even 3 to end the half wouldn’t have been bad.

      • burntorangenavyblue

Surprised Arian would have allowed that. Panthers having tough time stopping the run. A 3fer I agree would be enough because the Panthers in the second half, well are the Panthers in the second half.

        • AlbertInTucson

Arians made an ass call LAST week when he threw on 2nd down and save 40 seconds for the Packers.

        • Scharfinator

You don’t. From the context of your question, we are assuming no one ever dies.

        • willbest

Hypothetically if nobody dies you need 5000 births per year. But people are going to die over 400 years

You are correctamundo. Very good. After much googling, I came up with similar numbers.

  • BearDown100393

Still a half to play but neither teams’ offense matches up well against Denver’s defense.

  • Irish Sweetness

Morning, bitches. I’m going to scroll down now and see where Yonny pulled the trigger.
I wasn’t too heart-broken, I drew the line in the sand at Peyton Manning … and he pulled it out. Or probably his defense and Ed Hochuli, I didn’t watch.

This Panthers game is entertaining though.

    • Trac

      So you took the Patsy’s?

      • AlbertInTucson

I heard SOOO many radio hosts last week GUARANTEE the Patriots would win.

I really enjoy a guy named Steve Czaban.

Used to be carried here on the old ONE ON ONE SPORTS Network.

He’s on Yahoo these days and I listen to his show via podcasts.

I find it a myuch less aggravating choice than Rome or Cowherd.

But he absolutely made the Patriots his lock of locks!

        Whoops.

MUCH to my disappointment, he also applauded Ed Hochuli being named to referee the AFC Championship.

        • Johnnywad

I can’t understand a damn thing Rome says. He’s developed his own dialect, and I have zero interest in trying to learn it.

          • AlbertInTucson

I detest what he’s done to the English language with his new-age hipster slang.

        • Trac

I had a feeling the Panthers would win. AFC? Could care less.

I tried getting into, and then stopped very quickly.

    • burntorangenavyblue

      Lol wut?

  • Jack Lacan

Maybe Coach Belichek could do some Reverse Mortgage Commercials…

  • burntorangenavyblue

Qustionable play calling by AZ coaches and bad throws by Palmer, but the WR’s dropped a ton of passes tonight

    • SC Dave

WRs have had trouble all day. It’s a little weird, actually.

      Lapses of concentration all day.

  • Trac

It seems that Arizona’s fully embraced the MB Kiss Of Death. hee hee

  • SC Dave

    Panthers have fallen asleep again.

    • BillW

And they thank you for waking them up

  • BillW

Palmer seemed like he really wanted to give them the ball one more time.

  • Cutty of Mt. Olivet Nazarene

    Cue Dave in 2, 1…….

    • SC Dave

I don’t think going for two showed much class. Bad call, Chico.

      • Cutty of Mt. Olivet Nazarene

Haha, you love Olsen. When he converted that huge first down you had a mini orgasm. No judgments.

      • BillW

Put them up 27. With all the talk of them laying down in the second half that was his middle finger to all that

        • SC Dave

Maybe. They did finish tonight tho.

  • BearDown100393

    What would Butkus do?

  • burntorangenavyblue

Geez, classless announcers….game isn’t over and they are already weaving in their narrative nut-gargling of storyline of what the Broncos will be doing against the Panthers for the SB.

Yes it’s “over”, but to just jump ahead like that takes you out of the experience of what you are watching NOW

    • Irish Sweetness

What will the Broncos be doing to the Panthers? I want my money back. I suspect Manning will be picked off? What can their D do to Carolina?

  • willbest

It was nice of Palmer to reserve his worse game of the season for the NFCC. And it wasn’t his pinky. He was just throwing it to the other team.

    • burntorangenavyblue

      Maybe Cam’s dad called Palmer…

      • BearDown100393

        $$

  • SC Dave

A pretty much perfect football day, except for Davis.

  • BearDown100393

A dude just fell out of the stands.

    • SC Dave

      Bummer…

    • Irish Sweetness

      Alcohol is not our friend.

      • Cutty of Mt. Olivet Nazarene

        Natural selection

      • Johnnywad

Alcohol is my friend. But I don’t drink it while clinging to stadium balconies.

  • BillW

As I said, game too big for Palmer

  • DaMurph

Palmer is having a BAD Bad Rex day!!!

  • Irish Sweetness

I had 6 INTs in my head at the end of the half.

  • BearDown100393

The Cardinals might as well sweep the leg on dancer boy.

    • BearDown100393

      Never mind.

    • BillW

Which is why he is out now

    • Irish Sweetness

+10 blog points to all Cobra Kai refs.

  • burntorangenavyblue

You get a pick! You get a pick! You get a pick! You get a pick! And you get a pick! ….screaming and drunk fans falling out of stands

  • BearDown100393

This loss makes Green Bay’s defeat even worse.

    • BillW

Thinking the same thing. With a huge smile!

    • Irish Sweetness

Next season, NFCN is burnt orange and navy blue fo sho.

    • BerwynBomber

Hate to say it but Rodgers and his PS receivers would have given CAR more of a game than ARI.

But ultimately was CAR’s year in the NFC. Cheese would have only been around a week longer. Go Riverboat Ron. Please spare us the damn Manning Redemption stories.

      • willbest

It would have made a better NFCC, but the sooner the packers exit the playoff picture in any given year, the better.

  • Shady

    The John Fox Bowl?

  • Shady

So Riverboat Ron gets another shot at Manning for a ring.

    • Johnnywad

Without Lovie getting in his way.

      • Trac

Lovie basically fired him for Ba-bitch. Smh. Too much testosterone for Lovie to manage I guess.

  • Shady

    Panthers should be 3.5 faves.

    • Irish Sweetness

      Is that enough?

      • Shady

        Covers @Covers

Per @Sportsbook_com Panthers open -4 and already bet to -5. Total up from 44.5 to 45

        • Irish Sweetness

I’m thinking Denver’s D +5 is interesting, and if it goes to +6, then Manning-dislike get outweighed.

          • Shady

Obviously people are going to see what CAR just did to ARI and think this is going to be Super Bowl 50 to nothing. That would be a mistake. If you like DEN and/or the under just wait a couple of weeks.

          • burntorangenavyblue

How many Broncos players played in the Superbowl the other year? I think that they will be a force to be reckoned with from their experience.

  • Johnnywad

So Carson’s not part of the mythical “elite” quarterback circle anymore, right? I can’t find my flow charts anywhere. But I think he loses his membership for this one.

  • BearDown100393

A huge congratulations to Ron Rivera.

  • burntorangenavyblue

Did Cam seriously said that he doesn’t know who they are playing?!?

    • BearDown100393

I always felt it was a bit unfair to shove a microphone in front of an athlete’s face literally seconds after a game ends.

      • burntorangenavyblue

I know…they’re trying to breath and a microphone is blocking their airway

      • Irish Sweetness

If I’m getting millions of dollars into my account I’ll take that kind of hardship, bro.

      • willbest

The rush from such a moment can be as euphoric as any drug high.

    • SC Dave

Why would he care? They had a game to win today first.

      • burntorangenavyblue

The game started after the conclusion of the Pats and Broncos game. No way he wouldn’t know

        • willbest

Not unless Ron considered it a distraction.

        • BillW

I’m sure they were getting ready and they probably as a team decided to not hear who won so they couldn’t be accused of thinking ahead

          • burntorangenavyblue

Usually jumbotrons will put up highlights and scores of games of all sports. You think that the stadium avoided that entirely?

          • BillW

No but maybe he really didn’t want to know. He seems like a jerk at times but then again his teammates seem to respond to his leadership.

  • burntorangenavyblue

I wish those out there good luck to the added onslaught of Manning commercials we will be subjugated to. May the force be with you in preventing yourself from murdering or attempted murdering a Papa Johns delivery driver if you see them in your neighborhood.

  • BearDown100393

    Pads under t-shirts

  • SC Dave

Panthers kick ass, and Brady loses. Couldn’t have been better.

  • Shady

And here it is: Panthers Fan Falling Out Of The Stands, In Extreme Slow Motion:

  • BerwynBomber

DaBearsBlog @dabearsblog “How can Carson Palmer be THIS bad?”

Truly bizarre. Including the final game of ARI’s reg season, it was as if Palmer morphed into Oakland Raider Carson Palmer their final three games.

    • Irish Sweetness

And of course, the answer is .. he isn’t. He was the 3rd highest rated QB in the league, had 35 TD passes and 11 INTs. Carolina’s D is excellent, and they should pose a nightmare for Manning.

Question : What will the Bronco’s D pose for Cam?

      • SC Dave

Broncos D was impressive, so it should be a better match-up. But I don’t see Denver winning.
