The Bears: The only team to score 24 or less in every game to start this season!

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

Who said this team wasn’t good at something?

  • Huge Bears Penis

They figured out why ratings were down. People started to flee to Canada knowing either Trump or Clinton was going to be President. Ratings are up in Canada

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/11/19/nfl-sees-tv-ratings-increase-in-canada/

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

They? I see a movie in the works. It would be an intriguing title.

    • CanadaBear

I’ve heard a lot of talk about people moving north but haven’t seen much evidence of it. Hard to believe people were full of crap! I liked the article. They didn’t get into partronizing mode until the end of it.

  • Johnnywad

    go bears?????

Jess, I’d like to see an outstanding balance on both sides of the ball.

  • Big Mike

Golfing. Then tailgating and watching the skins play the packers. no fucks left to give for this seasons team

    • SC Dave

Yeah, we know. This is what, about the fourth time you’ve posted this?

      Have a great day!

      • CanadaBear

Yeah Dave, it’s not like any of us have ever repeated ourselves on here.

    Bears win 23-10

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

      Eye likery.

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

Like the Bears, my FF season ended about the same time. Note to future FF auctioneers: don’t blow your wad in the first 2 rounds and wait until everyone else spends their money first.

    • willbest

I am not going to be statistically eliminated until next week. But I need to win out while 4th and 5th place lose 2, while gaining 140 points on 4th place.

  • Irish Sweetness
    • MB30SD

Omg Irish!! Some unscrupulous soul just hacked your account and posted a pirated link!!!

      • willbest

        heh

      • Irish Sweetness

Exactly, wow. And I forgot how to delete! Cheap rotten pirating house-burglars!

  • MB30SD

I just heard fucking Boomer reporting that the NFL is trying to stop the sagging ratings by changing the London Games to 1 p.m. Eastern.

    Smfh.

Are you idiots serious?!? Yeah, that’ll totall do it. What a fucking joke. Talk about a bunch of megalomaniacs completely out of touch with what’s going on.

Stop making stupid fucking changes, make reffing a full time gig, get good ones, and LET THEM FUCKING PLAY FOOTBALL you fucking buffoons!!!!!!

There ya go Rodge, i just fixed your problem. you’re welcome.

    • willbest

The problem isn’t the refs, its the rulebook. Allow more holding by the O-line and DBs. There will be fewer penalties, fewer passes, more runs, the clock will run faster, the game will be shorter.

Oh wait but lower scoring and fewer circus catches. And its all about the sportscenter highlight reels.

      • Irish Sweetness

Or change the holding rules. I loved that Minny-Bears game. 3 or 4 penalties. Let them play.

      • MB30SD

It’s both will, hence why I mentioned both as fixes. Fix/stop making changes/more rules, get refs that aren’t fucking shoe salesmen during the week, let them play.

There’s your Trifecta equation for blowing it back up

  • willbest

    Inactives:

Deiondre Hall, DeAndre Houston-Carson, John Timu, Bobby Massie, Daniel Brown, Eddie Goldman and Mitch Unrein.

So they are going to roll with that DL they pulled off the practice squad this week.

    • Man, does Hall or Carson EVER fucking play?

Fuck. Way to make the team, assholes.

      • Weed Superman (GP)
      • willbest

I think they would be on IR if you know we had anybody left to dress because we already have 12 people on IR

        • willbest

I forgot about Sutton, we have 13 on IR now. Good lord. I think there is actually a roster limit that includes 53-man, PS, and IR/PUP Bears have to be getting close to it

  • MB30SD

What would you do to have Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas. Smh. Badass

  • Irish Sweetness

For me this game is about Tracy Porter. If OBJ gets Porter, then it’s a 200 yard day for him. Shephard and Cruz will eat his lunch anyway. If the game doesn’t go through Howard, I can’t see us winning .. .and in the name of Trubisky .. .that’s all right too.

    Kush is active, that’s something.

    • Porter has been shadowing #1 WRs all season, but HOPEFULLY Fangio learned after TY Hilton blasted them.

    • willbest

You dress 7 OL. So yeah Kush is up with Massie and Edison not dressing. You better hope to hell Adams and Leno stay healthy or its going to get ugly quick.

  • Will Jay finally get benched? Oh, Barkley is his backup, nvm…

  • willbest

Biggsy reporting Long needs 2 surgeries…. Just Fing great.

    • Probably one for his shoulder/arm, and another maybe for his ankle.

I don’t understand why he was out last week to begin with esp considering how good Larsen/Kush did.

I say give Kush a shot.

      • willbest

Yeah, one to repair a ligament in his ankle, and another to repair his torn labrum in his left shoulder

  • Any of my followers Bears fans in Paris?? I wanna watch this shitty team in public. – Jeff

That would be a spectacle to behold for the French.

They would gather around Jeff thinking he was a performance artist.

“Is le American screaming at the TV in protest of Trump? American imperialism? Is he symbolizing the modern discontent of homme? Bravo, le American, vive le Bears, vive le mierde”

  • Why haven’t we fucking signed Will Hill yet?

Jeff, I know you got a WIll Hill boner since forever, make it happen.

  • Man, almost every single expert, ex-coach, jock, writer, FF analysts, or even casual guest star just laugh at Cutler.

    He’s become fucking clown shoes.

Even rather tame dudes like Kurt Warner are ragging on him. Soooooo depressing.

    Any QB impress yesterday?

I caught a little of Falk, and he impressed me a bit. I could see a late round flier on him for sure.

    Falk it!

    • Irish Sweetness

He’ll probably have a 104 QB rating today. Or descend further into the seventh layer of hell.

    • BearDown100393

      How Jesus of Kurt Warner.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Ehhhh ….

BTW Jeff – if you’re watching that pirate stream in a bar, then the French rozzers will be in to arrest you by the second quarter, and then you’ll be handed around like a rag between a cell full of Algerian bodybuilders.

    Lucky boy ;o)

  • Huge Bears Penis

We win due to a missed last second field goal by Gould!!!!

    • Gould will probably pick 6 Jay to continue the great season.

      • Huge Bears Penis

i don’t doubt that at all, but he will still miss the last second field goal.

  • Irish Sweetness

NFL in Mexico. They’re all Cowboys fans? As in ALL Cowboys fans.

    • BearDown100393

Just think of all that unused Cowboys playoff apparel sent down there for the past few decades.

      • Sauron’s right eyeball

Lol. That Sir is letterman quality humor.

  • BearDown100393

    Giants about to be embarrassed.

    • Irish Sweetness

It’s a rough OL we have, unless we run it all day long.

    • Huge Bears Penis

only things they will be embarrassed by is not recovering any of the 4 strip sacks Cutler has or not picking off any of the atleast 3 passes that hit DBs in the hands.

      • BearDown100393

#6 has a clean game today.

  • BearDown100393

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

Need points on this drive. Look for Miller.

    • BearDown100393

You asked for it. And got it. Touchdown.

  • Huge Bears Penis

    MILLER TIME!

  • willbest

Well it took a bs penalty, but we are on the board

    • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

Hands to the face on linemen is BS. Driving a defenseless qb into the ground is a penalty. You could simply do it to every qb in the league to get to the backup. He will be fined 15000.00

      • willbest

Cutler still had the ball, when he went for the tackle

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

    Sick.

    • willbest

      Dammit barth

  • BearDown100393

    • willbest

He had one a week or two ago

      • Irish Sweetness

        Was that confirmed?

  • 505Bears

    • Huge Bears Penis

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

    • Huge Bears Penis

      except agents for crappy players

    • Huge Bears Penis

also i believe Angelo used to have that on poster in his office when he was GM.

  • Birdcage calling better game (of course it helps not staring down receivers now that Alshon is out)

I liked that 3TE split out wide to let Howard gain that 1st. Creative.

  • BearDown100393

These wide receivers diving for PI is like soccer fouls.

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

So it’s going to be this kind of game.

  • willbest

Looks like our D still thinks the game is over

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

They gain 2 yds a carry but 10 on us

  • BearDown100393

    Porter pulling a Shea.

    • EnderWiggin

His feet stopped, eyes got real big… Like a rabbit in headlights.

    • Irish Sweetness

      Toast.

    • Meh. He was more worried about outside contain I think, but still got juked.

  • willbest

Considering the Bears are like 3% on stoping 4th down

    • willbest

      And now 2%

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

Bears can’t win a game like this. D cannot do anything.

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

    Fucking embarrassing.

    • BearDown100393

      The PI was crap.

  • willbest

    Apparently Goldman really is baller

  • Huge Bears Penis

    GOULD!!!!

  • 505Bears

    Haha…gould is a true Bear!!

  • Irish Sweetness

Robbie. That’s fucking hilarious. Nice one, bud!

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

I don’t like to call an election early but I’m calling a 0 to 2 punt day for the Giants at the most. That was fucking bad.

    • Irish Sweetness

Eli was almost sacked on the completion to Shephard. Game of inches!

    • Irish Sweetness

OBJ will have a huge day on Porter.

      • I think Callahan for as long as he’s healthy will be on OBJ

        • Huge Bears Penis

          so 4 plays?

  • Is it a rule that EVERY time the Bears score, our D must also allow a TD?

    WTF, Fangio. Get on it.

    • willbest

Well we know the half time adjustments will be meaningful

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

Recipe for a 3 and out.

  • willbest

    Millertime

  • Huge Bears Penis

dammit. i left Miller on the bench for FF. decided to go with Bennett instead since Gronk was out

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

    No penalty?

    • willbest

      For what?

      • Sauron’s right eyeball

We got a first down and no offsides or holding.

  • Malice Halice

Did both kickers miss the PAT?

    • willbest

      Yes

  • EnderWiggin

    Smart Cutty.

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

Need fg at least on this drive.

    • willbest

Are we inside the 5, cause otherwise it’s not automatic

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

Isolate miller on that linebacker and if it’s not there get at least 4 yds and let Barth possibly make it.

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

      Nah. Howard up the gut.

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

They are blitzing. They will rotate over to cover the check down to the rb so Miller or slot will be open.

  • willbest

    Ugly

    • EnderWiggin

      Was it 3rd and 8? Or 3rd and 1?

      • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

        Ha.

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

    That developed weirdly.

  • Huge Bears Penis

    CUT HIM!!!

    • Huge Bears Penis

      a little premature – sorry.

      • willbest

Royal? He is 5 mil no guarantees next year, he will be gone

        • Huge Bears Penis

no i figured Barth would miss it.

          • willbest

            Ha

  • willbest

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

Young has to fucking touch the qb.

  • BearDown100393

“He throws picks because he cares about winning football games.”
    – Oh.

  • EnderWiggin

4th and 2. Why do they punt?

    • willbest

No idea since we are 1 for 37 getting off on 4th

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

Why are they punting? (Half kidding)

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

    Get the ball out quick

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

Should have brought him in after the flag.

  • 505Bears

Who the fuck is this team?!

    • Irish Sweetness

      Exactly.

    • As long as we don’t turn it over or commit stupid penalties, we can win games.

  • Irish Sweetness

They weren’t your FF points Langford!

    Sonofabitch.

    • Vulture!
      and Ender weeps a lil

      • EnderWiggin

Think I’ll be OK. If ODB give shady 30+, I’m screwed.

  • That Oline is just DOMINATING.

Hate to say it, but without an inj Long, that line’s been better.

Is Larsen or Kush in at RG?

And Adams is just walling off folks.

    • Huge Bears Penis

      Larsen

    • Irish Sweetness

Adams is an upgrade, and I guess an injured Kyle ain’t all that.

      • I always felt Adams was better, but he’s just never healthy.
As long as he stays up, we should be able to control the LOS

    • Johnnywad

It did in Minnesota as well. Long is right where he needs to be. Dude’s a warrior but that shoulder must be beyond fucked up. Heal em up and get him ready for next year.

    • willbest

Kush and Larsen are going to get multi year deals with other teams next year

    • willbest

      Our CBs suck

  • That’s not Fangio’s fault.
    GOtta make that tackle.

But Fangio only rushing 3 on 3rd and long is stupid cuz they’re just giving up free yds knowing the Gmen will go for it on 4rth.

    That’s how you get outcoached

      • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

He’s supposed to be a pro football player.

  • willbest

  • Make RedZone Conv% Great Again

  • BearDown100393

Really Lynch? Your fingers were broken catching footballs from #6?

    • Huge Bears Penis

Lynch played Defense so most likely got a lot of chances to break em on interceptions.

      • That would also mean Cutler was throwing picks to a broken down Lynch.

  • willbest

    Lol good job jay

    • Johnnywad

How the fuck can he not see that? Son of a bitch.

  • ButtonShoes

    And there it is. Interception.

    • willbest

Not the reason we lost but it did end it

      • Johnnywad

There isn’t a single reason any team ever loses any game.

  • Guy was open underneath

    • EnderWiggin

I was just thinking. Why try for the whole 29 yards?

      • esp with their pass rush.

But we all know the answer to that.

        • willbest

          The receivers keep dropping passes

          • Yes, that’s a good reason not to hit them wide open.

          • willbest

Its a good reason to throw it 30 yards on all 3 attempts because expecting 3 10 yard catches was way too much

  • BearDown100393

8-8 still can win this division.

    • Malice Halice

That game was MOJO for da cubs to rally n win.

    • BerwynBomber

Was fine the first half. Second half maybe GMen made adjustments.

      • willbest

We still had Sitton in the first half.

  • Malice Halice

Thru all did bullshit we goin thru, we still not gettin 1st pick.

    • ButtonShoes

This team can’t even fail the right way.

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

I’d have to say the NFL product is going down the tubes when a team with a 2-8 record has the 4th worst record in the league. The draft format is designed to help 1 or 2 shitty teams every year, not 4, 5 or 6.

  • Weed Superman (GP)

    Cutlered

    • Here come the Cutlerites in their cargo shorts!

      • willbest

You don’t have to worship Cutler to realize that loss wasn’t on him. No sacks, no INTs, Giants were 2-2 on 4th down. If it wasn’t for Gould being awful we wouldn’t have even had a chance to win.

        • He was good, until the 2nd half or when it counted.

          • willbest

No doubt da Destroya would have won the game for us there.

          • willbest

Incidentally, that argument could be used last week when the Cutler was dogshit.

The D was good until the 2nd half or when it counted.

    • willbest

Whatever you need to feel good about losing a game where the D didn’t show up, the ST sucked, and there were 7 dropped passes by receivers and we lost Miller and Sitton causing the run game to disappear.

      • Johnnywad

Not sure how you can worry about the D when the O scored 16 points.

        • those 3andOuts didn’t help our D, that’s for sure.

          • Johnnywad

They only gave up 22. That keeps you in it. I’d say it really comes down to injuries and suspensions more than anything else.

          • willbest

It came down to any number of plays
            1) Holding on Adams taking us out of FG range
            2) Bellamy not recovering the punt
            3) Amos not making the INT
            4) Barth not making the FG (or PAT)
            5) Hurst not making the INT
            6) Howard dropping a catch forcing a punt
            7) Jay’s INT at the end looking for the home run
            8) The D letting the giants go 2-2 on 4th down, and blowing a couple 3rd & 7s

          • BerwynBomber

Howard dropping that 3rd down catch — if I’m thinking of the right one — would be WAY down the list for me, if listed at all. He turned and went up in double coverage to try to snag that thing. I wouldn’t even expect Forte in his prime to make that catch.

          • willbest

The hell you wouldn’t it bounced out of his hands and he was unmolested by either defender.

          • willbest

Bears won TOP. If the D can’t play 29.5 minutes that is on them.

  • BerwynBomber

What the hell got into PO’D? Dude morphed into Ray Guy the second half. A bit of a Hester effect with field position. Alas, we couldn’t take advantage of it.

    • Huge Bears Penis

      it was windy.

      • BerwynBomber

Right, but Lynch said he was kicking into the wind on at least one of them.

  • SF gonna lose. Browns haven’t won. And Jags lost.

We’ll end up drafting a RT.

    • willbest

RT, DB, QB, DB, DL, WR, LT.

  • BerwynBomber

Front side strip sack and a duck of an INT are Jay’s last two plays. Career-wise a bit fitting.

But I’d give him a bit of a pass today. Nothing great/nothing horrible. And he had to deal with a few drops and a banged up corps. But damn, Cutler holds onto the ball forever. He’s had to deal with some sketchy pass-blockers in his career, but he is also a guy who will never make a line look good. Both the strip-sack and INT were avoidable.

    • willbest

Jay’s fuck up was he got himself into “Its all on me” and he stopped seeing what was in front of him looking for the TD. Its the same thing Bellamy did on the punt that bounced out of his hands. All he had to do was Fing fall on it, but he was looking at the endzone.

      • BerwynBomber

Jay’s “safe place” might be to look for the homerun ball, hence holding onto the ball so long. To be honest, Rodgers does some of that stuff too, but the difference is Rodgers is bit more nimble on his feet in the pocket and is usually more accurate and a better decision maker.

Jay also seems to have to see a guy open before he throws — rather than anticipating separation. Gotta assume that eats time too.

        • CanadaBear

THat’s what Rashied Davis said on Lance Briggs show on CSN. He doesn’t throw people open. Always has to wait until they are and then he guns it.

          • BerwynBomber

Yeah I heard that years ago from, maybe(?), Jim Miller.

Ah well. I’m not gonna put this one solely on Cutty even if he didn’t need to be that greedy on the INT. The guy still has a freaking cannon.

          • yup. NO anticipation.
Along with poor pocket presence, vision, mechanics, accuracy and leadership

            But other than that…

          • CanadaBear

I gotta tell ya, that Conte pic is badass. It kinda freaks me out!

          • BerwynBomber

Conte had another pick today. 50 yard return or something.

He was actually a good cover safety. (Run support … meh.) But he was just way too fragile.

          • He was also VERY inconsistent with angles. Never made a big hit. And took wrong angles frequently.

Briggs on his show said as much, that Conte was very up and down.

            Basically the Cutler of Safeties.

          • CanadaBear

That’s what I remember. A try hard guy that took shitty angles and when he did try to lay the wood usually hurt himself. I get why fans booed him but I’m always kinda amazed when they ratchet it up into something personal. I save that for the Cadesters of the world.

          • Conte got a LOT of shit for that play vs the Puke.
He even had to close down his twitter cuz many meatballs were sending him threats. So, I guess I can understand that.

          • BerwynBomber

I don’t think we will ever get the true story of that play but here’s my pet theory. In the two years of Trestman — especially in the second year — it seems like the D wasn’t always on the same page on random plays. Could have been Tucker. But what else changed prior to those years was no more Urlacher, who called the D plays.

I’m assuming being the playcaller of the D requires not near the football IQ of a QB (and especially a Rodgers, Brady, Brees, etc.) but I could also see how some D guys could be better about it than other. At least in terms of making sure everyone knew their assignment on each play.

          • Yeah, that might have made Conte extra pissed, that it wasn’t even his fault, but he def got the blunt of the hate while staying quiet about it.

          • BerwynBomber

The other thing was that both Rodgers and Kuhn made fantastic plays to avoid Pep while Wright committed blatant (but uncalled) PI by leveling Nelson ten yards downfield.

Ah well. An infamous play in Bears lore. And Conte will always be the Bill Buckner of it.

          • CanadaBear

Everybody was pissed about that play but no reason to make it personal.

          • Haha. The condor!

            He will eat your soul.

            I’m sure MB loves it.

    • He was like a C- today.

Better than the F- last week I guess

    • Johnnywad

I can’t fault a guy for not seeing the blind side strip sack coming. But he’s been getting stripped from the front side this year. I guess he just gets locked down field. Whatever it is, it’s a killer flaw.

  • willbest

Biggs is reporting Floyd has movement in arms and legs at the hospital. So cause for optimism

  • willbest

Ian is reporting Miller has a broken bone in his right foot, which should be his season.

    • BearDown100393

      Miller is done.

    • Damn.
      Brauckner, step on up.

    • Johnnywad

Looked like he knew it when it happened.

  • BerwynBomber

Btw, McAddo almost turtled too early. That was definitely some coaching not to lose stuff at the end of the game.

Del Rio did the same — a bit — against us last year. But now he is the biggest gambler in the league. Go figure.

    • willbest

I wish we had a coach that could learn.

  • CanadaBear

Just good enough to lose! It’s a team loss. ST’s suck because the roster is so depleted street guys are playing. The D can’t hold up for more than a series or two. If the O goes into multiple 3 and outs, uh-oh. Not gonna pile on, with all these injuries you can’t expect much more. Not sure where the two wins would come from but 4-12 seems about right.

    • willbest

Maybe we get our CBs back at some point. And remember Fuller and White went onto IR early enough one of them can come off.

      • CanadaBear

If it were up to me I wouldn’t bring either of them back unless they were truly 100%

      • BerwynBomber

I’d soon not see White till next year. Too much serious injury history there. But Fuller’s return would be welcome. Still have thoughts of converting him to FS.

        • CanadaBear

If he can’t stay healthy at CB … Overall I think he’s better suited to FS but at this point who knows?

    • The only question is, will 4 wins be enough to get the 2nd pick.

That’s what our season has come down to.

      • CanadaBear

I think this team has that CAN DO attitude and might even run the table in a bad way. 2-14 would have to net at least the 2nd pick.

        • The thing is, we’re suddenly in a meh division.

We can beat the Lions, Packers and Vikes, which will lower us further cuz I think division wins count for more.

          • CanadaBear

Hopefully those teams stay healthy as can be and administer the proper beatings to the Beloved.

          • willbest

Its weakest strength of schedule. So the suckier our opponents are the worse our SOS and the more likely we are to win a wins tie-breaker.

        • Irish Sweetness

I can see Kap winning a few games.

          • MB30SD

            Meh

      • MB30SD

Shit, my question is… Where in thee hell do you see 2 more wins?!?!

        • Irish Sweetness

          Exactly.

        • BerwynBomber

Well, the Cheese look to be in free fall and are suddenly a travelling soap opera. And the Niners are still the Niners. And both those games are at Soldier.

But other than those two …

          • MB30SD

Sure. Believe what you gotta maings. We are… Turrible

  • Ouch, Mo Claiborne tore a piece of bone off his pelvis.

    Yikes.

  • Goff is gonna get KILLED.

He looks like a slower whiter RG3

    • MB30SD

      Lazy. What happened to floyd

      • He ducked his head while tackling.

Perhaps neck inj, but news are he’s ok (at hospital)

        • MB30SD

Thanks. Yeah, I saw the play, but didn’t hear the prognosis. Gracias. Good news

          • Yeah, Biggsy and Jahns reported he seems ok.

Looked scary cuz he was completely immobilized.

  • MB30SD

That was a sweet trick play

  • Irish Sweetness

Baldwin to Russell Wilson. TD. Fantasy nice, everywhere.

  • Hawks just teabagging Iggles now.

Wentz suddenly looks like a rook.

    • MB30SD

That D is fucking vicious. Just beastly.

How Dave and all can hate them so much I’ll never get. Bears kinda D.

      • Did u catch the game today?

        Pretty sorry all around.

        • Irish Sweetness

MB was making foaming lava volcanoes.

          • MB30SD

I wish! I get the kids next week.

            Wait….

          • Irish Sweetness

Ha. I’m about to drive my missus to the bus station and she’s gone for ten days.
I have the twins on my own for TEN DAYS.

          • MB30SD

Nice!!! Lot of work, but should be fun.

My bro and a couple good friend single dad’s only have one… They don’t get how much exponentially harder two is.

        • MB30SD

Some of it… The TV with the game was far away

          • Irish Sweetness

            From the bed?

          • MB30SD

            Bar

      • BerwynBomber

Agreed. I like that SEA team. Maybe it is because of Sherman’s mouth? Or Uni’s brother? Or Carroll?

        • MB30SD

Whatever the case, Kam, Wagner, thomas, wright, etc… Should nullify all that.

          • BerwynBomber

Hell, I like watching Wilson QB too. The kid is crafty as fuck. So long as his MCL has healed and he can move again.

          • MB30SD

Yep. Good team man. And I don’t care what people say, Carrol is a badass and his players LOOOVE him.

Google some vids of his pranks on his players at SC. He knows how to have men follow him into Battle. Period.

          • BerwynBomber

Agreed. Second best HC in the league.

          • MB30SD

            Fox #1?

          • MB30SD

            Coach of the year?

      • beninnorcal

I acknowledge that Seattle has had a nice D for awhile now. I still can’t stand those guys though, starts with the coach.

        • MB30SD

          Love all of it.

Let me ask you this Ben. Would you rather have them or the like of shit we’ve had since 06.

There’s no fucking choice for me

          • willbest

The Urlacher D’s were a thing of beauty.

      • SC Dave

Except the Bears did not admit to cheating on every play, and didn’t have to.

        • MB30SD

Sigh. You are the human version of underdog dude.

    • Irish Sweetness

I never saw what the fuss was about. He looks terrible. That was a woeful interception.

      • BerwynBomber

He’ll be fine (and he looked awesome against us). Most rookie QBs suck — even guys who go on to successful careers. The Marinos, R-begers, and Prescotts are the exceptions.

    • Irish Sweetness

That Sherman interception was awesome. Love one of those big safeties.

  • MB30SD

Man, goff and his receivers not helping each other

  • MB30SD

    Jesus, 2-8

    • Irish Sweetness

      It’s been a while.

Torn between Garret and Trubisky. IF we keep Cutty maybe we get a shot at Garret … and then we groom Shaw at QB?

      • MB30SD

I don’t even know any more. Stuck between not giving a single fuck any more and looking forward to the future.

      • Garrett, Romo, Hoyer, Shaw

        • willbest

Every time I think you have clawed your way out of insanity you go and put Hoyer on a list of possible Bears QBs for 2017

          • Definition of insanity is attempting the same thing (Cutler) and expecting different results (winning).

          • willbest

I have zero problem moving on from Cutler. I am not demanding he be given another chance, and I support him leaving. That is different than supporting a guy who produced the 4 best statistical games of his entire football career while going 1-3 in them, who has demonstrated that he can’t throw the ball more than 12 yards. Oh and shit the bed in a playoff situation previously in his career.

          • That Guy

I support moving on from Cutler, but wish we would have drafted his replacement in the past two years. Still, here we are.

The question in my mind is, which player is the better veteran backup to have in the QB room next to our future rookie starter? Does Cutler stick around, possibly on a reduced deal (facing release, he might be willing to take $5-10M per year, which would be fair)? Or do we have a guy like Hoyer or Shaw be the vet?

Or do we cut Cutler, sign Romo (assuming he’s available and not signed to start elsewhere) and see if Romo is willing to be a mentor? I think that’s the least likely scenario.

          • willbest

Cutler won’t renegotiate. If Cutler is cut somebody is going to give him 20-25 million guaranteed. He might be traded for scrap. Maybe the Fins give us a 4th if they want to move on from Tannehill. Cutler and Suh on the same team amuses me too. Gase knows how to use Cutler, and they aren’t going to be in a position to draft a clear starter so it even makes sense.

          • BerwynBomber

i’ll be interested to see this 20-25M payday for Cutler happen.

MIA is 6-4. Gase is game-managing Tannenhill now. If he goes with a different QB I would be surprised if it is not one he could mold from scratch.

          • willbest

That is guaranteed, not single season. So maybe a 3-year 48 million, 20 million guaranteed, 12, 16, 20 type deal.

          • BerwynBomber

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, plausible I suppose.

But I still don’t see the MIA thing happening.

          • That Guy

That’s the thing. You could give Cutler a deal like that to stay in Chicago and still have a rookie start. Not ideal, but if that’s your plan, its affordable.

          • willbest

I don’t think its a given Cutler isn’t a Bear next year, though I think its down around 10-20% at this point. There are worse things out there than a 1-year $15 million (170k per game clawback for inactive) no strings attached QB. Especially if we are drafting at say #4 or 5 and two QB’s go by then. Grab the best Tackle available and then maybe trade up into the 1st with your 2nd rounder to grab the best prospect QB available.

          • Irish Sweetness

The Dolphins would be great for Cutty. Some talent at OL/HB,

          • In retrospect, I can see the wisdom in drafting a QB to develop, but Pace probably figured that this roster was so barren of youth and talent, that he couldn’t waste a 4rth or 5th, and the other options (like Mariota or Wentz) were way too expensive.

            That 4rth/5th could’ve meant no Amos/Howard.

Is someone like Hundley worth replacing one of them?

            Hard to say.

Also gotta remember that Pox was holding out hope, like the rest of us, that Cutler FINALLY got over the hump, which in hindsight was misguided.

I still don’t think we should draft a QB for a possible lame duck coach in Fox.

If we get rid of Fox, then we can go all in with the new HCs pick, or if he wants a mid rounder and ride with Hoyer/Shaw till he develops, so be it.

          • That Guy

We need a QB. If I’m the GM and I decide to fire Fox (which is not a given btw), then I don’t hire someone who isn’t on board with the plan of drafting high.

          • Irish Sweetness

Shaw could be the guy. Hoyer just can’t make pro throws that are beyond 10 yard routes when he needs to, and has zero accuracy when he heaves it.

But do you go with Trubisky/Shaw, and no experience? Or go withCutty/Shaw, and get a pass-rusher or OT?

          • That Guy

You need a QB to win in this league. Period. Look at the Superbowl winners the past ten 10-15 years. There’s just no other way.

Pass Rushers can be bought in FA. OTs can be found in later rounds. Obviously high picks are great for those positions too, but QB is the job that there really isn’t any other reliable way to do it. We have to draft a QB high.

Even if Cutler was a good QB, I’d be saying the same thing.

          • willbest

You mean other than last year. Or the year the Seahawks won. So either elite D, or a QB that can make some throws and not lose the game on you when it counts.

          • That Guy

Last year the QB’s last name was Manning, even if he did play like garbage. And Russell Wilson is not a counterexample to my point.

          • BerwynBomber

Yeah, Wilson should have won the MVP in that SB and he is pretty much elite at this point or very close. He led the league last year in passer rating, and his career PR is something like 100.

          • willbest

No he shouldn’t. The D reduced the most potent offense in the NFL to nothing.

          • BerwynBomber

And Wilson played outstanding. The fact that you love Cutty and think Wilson is a dismissible QB says it all.

          • willbest

What the fuck? No I think Wilson played adequate that season, and is elite now. He also had a good game, but that doesn’t change the fact that the defense held the most potent offense the NFL has seen this generation to 8 points.

          • BerwynBomber

            1. Wilson had a season passer rating of 101 and he finished sixth in the league in QBR. That’s “adequate” to you? If Cutler EVER had a season like that you would be tooting your own horn about how you deemed his contract brilliant and were proved right.
            2. If his name was Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, they would have tried to give him two SB MVPs for his performance that game
            3. the only individual D player that arguably had as good a game as Wilson was Chancellor, and didn’t get the SB MVP either.

          • willbest

It was his sophmore season and his QBR dropped a full 12 points from the previous season. Its also his worse season statistically in his 4 completed season as starter. And incidentally, last season is when he proved where he deserved to be spoken in the same breath as Brady and Rodgers when he posted crazy numbers with a crap line and no run game.

As for the Super Bowl itself, here is what Wilson did in the first half
9 for 15 for 94 yards, 2 rushes for 10 yards. By the time he touched the ball in the second half they were up 36-0.

And you are nuts if you don’t think Malcom Smith didn’t play every bit as good. In addition to his 70 yard INT TD, he had 6 tackles (same as Kam), and 4 assists (more than Kam) and a fumble recovery. Although you could maybe make an argument for Chris Clemons who had a sack and 2 FF. The Seattle D got 4 turnovers, that is why somebody on the D got the MVP.

          • BerwynBomber

Again, his season PR was 101 and his QBR was sixth in the league that season.
In the SB, he went 18/25 for 206 with 2 TDs and not a sniff of a pick. He also ran the ball three times for 26 yards for nearly 9 yards a pop.
He finished the game with a PR of 123. I don’t know what his QBR was but I assume it would have been extremely high due to his ball security, passing and running.

          • Irish Sweetness

But he was great today. I’m willing to buy the sore hand theory. Great against Minny. Nightmare with Tampa, great again at the Giants. Doesn’t make sense unless you figure in the thumb issue.

          • willbest

Really? Jay has a history of laying turds a couple times each year. I will buy the reason he was off the 2nd half in Texas and against Philly was the thumb, but he showed it was working just fine against Minny and today. Last week was just one of those signature Cutler games.

          • Irish Sweetness

Yeah, the bad game sandwiched in between two good games …I dunno.

          • SC Dave

Strip sack (luckily we got it) and interception to end the game.

          • BerwynBomber

He was “great today”? What game did you watch? He was average at best.

I would never pin this loss on him but c’mon …

  • willbest

Floyd is going to travel back with the team, that wouldn’t happen if there was any structural damage. Fast fucking MRI/CT though.

    • MB30SD

      Nice

    • SC Dave

They probably have the damn things in the stadiums now.

      • willbest

Well maybe the giants do. We don’t, they always say going for MRI on monday. in the reports.

  • Bernie Cohen

How many games this year have the Bears disappeared in the 2nd half. Poor conditioning?

    • beninnorcal

Pretty much every game. Several of which, they out-played the opponent in the first half.

    • The other teams make adjustments. We don’t.

It was obvious the Gmen wanted to stop the run and make Cutty throw behind that makeshift Oline, and it worked.

On the flipside, our D didn’t make any adjustments to stop Eli/Jennings until it was too late.

      • Irish Sweetness

OBJ only had 46 yards and no TDs. Not bad.

        • SC Dave

          Callaghan played today.

    • Irish Sweetness

I was just thinking that. I think they’re coddled in training.

  • The two young QBs I thought would turn the corner this year were Cousins and Carr.

Drafted both in Da League, and have paid off.

I got the Skins trio of Cousins-Reed-Kelley needing to make up like 40 points

    Get some!

    Go Skins!

    • BerwynBomber

WAS should win tonight — the Cheese are a mess — but I’m still dubious of Cousins long-term.

      • He always starts off seasons a lil shaky, then gets in a groove.

I think in that system, he can prosper. Kinda like a young Hoyer.

        • Johnnywad

          Hoyer prospered somewhere?

          • willbest

He is a better QB than Oz if you can believe it.

  • beninnorcal

I’m all for the Bears improving at qb, but Romo? I’m not sure I’m on board with that. Sure, he’s better than Cutler, but I’m pretty sure he needs a back transplant.

    • BerwynBomber

      Who’s pitching that idea?

Career-wise, Romo is obviously the superior QB to Jay, but yeah, I would not want him now unless I was desperate for a QB and prepped to compete for a title day one. And we’re not there. Otherwise, he is a hit away from retiring.

Go with a cheap bridge guy and draft a kid, or if you like nothing in the draft this year, go with two cheap bridge guys and Shaw and target ’18 draft.

      • Ian Rappaport mentioned Chicago as a possible landing spot, esp since it’s closer to Wisc his home town.

But he also said the early favorites were Denver or maybe even Arizona.

        • BerwynBomber

AZ would make most sense for Romo. It’s a warm-weather climate and they’re presumably ready to contend next year. But is Palmer still owed money there?

      • Irish Sweetness

Behind our OL I don’t think Romo could impress.

        • willbest

If we draft quality RT, our O-line will be pretty beastly Leno-Sitton-WH-Long-Rook

        • Johnnywad

          Or live

    • Don’t worry, Romo won’t want to come to the Bears.

But is he any more inj prone than Cutler?

      Just older, IMO, and better.

      • BerwynBomber

Well, his injuries have been more career-threatening and serious than Cutler’s. Again, you give me a choice between each at their peak (or for the length of their career), I take Romo w/out blinking an eye (it is no contest), but he looks like a dude who should have retired earlier in the year.

Hell of an underrated QB in my mind. But he was the epitome of star-crossed and seems like he could become a cripple if he is not careful.

    • Irish Sweetness

I changed my mind on Romo this week when I realized he was 36. Fuck that. We have Shaw and we could kick the tires on him for a half season or so next year, keeping Cutty.

  • BearDown100393

    The Cheese are terrible.

    • SC Dave

      Good

  • BerwynBomber

Tremendous play by Rodgers. He’s not the same guy but still capable of brilliance.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Stayed ’til the interception.

“The Bears came. They saw. They disappeared in the second half.”

And, once again, turnover opportunities that the Bears can never seem to jump on.

    • SC Dave

The inability of this defense to get turnovers is rather disheartening. Even when the other guys was to give them to us.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Yo, Bruce Arians,

The officials didn’t run a couple hundred yards worth of returns back on you and they don’t block for your QB which, come to think of it, neither does your offensive line

    • BerwynBomber

Biggest whiner among HCs in the league.

      • SC Dave

Speaking of whining, its funny, but I don’t see much whining here anymore about how we should have hired him.

        • BerwynBomber

Not much whining about our O averaging 13 points the last two games either.

          • willbest

Well Cutler shit the bed last week. But if you are going to put up 400+ yards of total offense and only have 17 points. That is a special skill or something.

This week, we lost 3 due to a hold in the first. And our run game disappeared in the second half.

          • That’s what happened to Hoyer too, holding penalties, drops and fumbles.

          • BerwynBomber

Shhhhh … only Cutty gets excuses.

  • Irish Sweetness

Zack Miller broke his foot. So there’s that.

    • AlbertInTucson

And he looked like he knew it as soon as it happened.

Stepped on by one of OUR guys,I believe?

      • willbest

That was Howard that took out Sitton. I don’t think Miller was injured by one of ours

        • AlbertInTucson

I knew it was ONE of the 2.

      • BearDown100393

I think it was Giants’ Stumpy

  • SC Dave

Doing my usual after the fact watchimg
On second Giants drive of the second half watching EVERY BEARS DL being held and wondering if there will be a flag this game.

    • willbest

There were so many plays where Bears DBs weren’t even covering WRs that I couldn’t get mad at non-call holds. And it isn’t like we were being hosed by them. I think we were called for 2 and they were called for 1.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Any word on Floyd?

    That was scary and disheartening.

  • willbest

So they called that same PI where the defender tackles the QB while he still has the ball against Palmer that they called with Cutler. I kind of get the point of not driving the QB to the ground, but if that is going to be the call then it should just be a sack without the need for a tackle.

  • Spriggs is the Olinemen the Puke jumped us for in the 2nd round.

We ended up trading back like 30 times and landing Whitehair anyways.

    • BerwynBomber

Spriggs has not lit the world on fire up there. Cheese O-line has been banged-up most of the year and he is only now in the game because their other back-up Barclay was crapping himself.

    • willbest

I am fine with WH now. I am just not all that impressed with the 4th rounders we acquired while moving back

      • willbest

Kitwoski (sp?) and Bush were what we got for our trade backs in the 2nd.

        • Kitwoski played a lil when Trevathan was down.
          Bush not so much.

          • Johnnywad

Seemed like Kwiatkowski had something to offer. Made some plays.

          • Yeah, from what I remember.
And didn’t he make a great play one time?

I don’t know if it was a big hit or what, but I vaguely remember something like that.

Will find out about Bush is any good pretty soon.

Supposedly he’s not far along “mentally” yet according to coaches.

          • willbest

            They started him today.

          • Bush, yeah, but it was his first start.
            Wonder how he graded out.

          • Irish Sweetness

Bush is the starting FS now. For what that’s worth.

  • MB30SD

    Watching Jason Bourne.

    One word…

    Jumped. The. Shark.

    Sad

  • Might wanna cover Starks, potato skins.

  • BerwynBomber

Wow, the Cheese’s secondary is atrocious.

  • BearDown100393

    Arena Football Night in DC

    • BerwynBomber

For one team at least …

  • You guys still wouldn’t want Cousins?

    Looks good, huh?

And with that score, I should soundly beat Trac, esp since I still got Carr revved up for tmrw.

    • willbest

Cousins is going to get 40 million in guarantees. Do you want him that much?

      • Might as well.
That’s the going rate for a young franchise QB.

        • willbest

Actually I just pulled up his numbers, it will be closer to 50 million. So you are looking at a full 3 year commitment to him.

          • I would be more than OK with that.

He’s not as good as Carr, but he’s better (and younger) than Cutler or Hoyer.

          • willbest

His numbers suggest he is a Hoyer that can make downfield throws. Pairing him with Howard and Jeffery and the best Tackle in the draft would bode very well for the team next year.

          • willbest

Assuming we don’t have to win a crazy bidding war for him. It might get ugly.

          • He keeps playing like this, Skins will throw him a mega contract or franchise him again, though that would be expensive for them too.

          • BerwynBomber

I’m still a bit skeptical but admittedly I have only seen Cousins (for any length of time) in three games. The one against us last year. Their WC game vs. the Cheese last year. And now tonight.

Only one of those games did he look good. Tonight’s of course. And he has looked excellent. Then again, the Cheese are basically playing all safeties in their secondary.

Hence, an incomplete from me. But hey, if Pace believes he is the shit and wants to bid for him … go for it.

  • GB run game is quick flares to HB

    • BerwynBomber

Rodgers has their only rushing TDs the entire year. Can you imagine? It is nearly Thanksgiving and no one has a rushing TD but your QB?

      • Yeah, that’s crazy.

Starks flashes, but for some reason, always gets benched eventually

        • BerwynBomber

Whenever one of your main RBs is a WR wearing #88 your rushing game has probably reached desperate stage.

Too bad Thompson doesn’t believe in trades. They would probably drool over a guy like Langford.

          • willbest

They could have picked Jaquizz off the street like the Bucs did.

          • BerwynBomber

But that was before Fat Eddie went down. I believe TB picked up the Jizz in preseason.

          • That would’ve been perfect for the Puke.

            Glad they’re stupid.

          • The funny part is that I actually think the offense moves better with Ty Montgomery in the back field, or going in motion for empty set.

But naturally, McFatty out thinks himself.

  • Think this will be a QB shootout.

  • Gotta go for it.
The way the Puke are moving the ball, it’s not as if the D is going to make a diff.

Also, get two possessions/tries to win game instead of maybe one and desperate try.

  • Balls. Yuge balls.

  • BerwynBomber

The Cheese’s D is beginning to look like ours circa 2014.

    • willbest

I thought we improved to 30th from 31st in 2014

      • BerwynBomber

Were we that bad in ’13 too? I don’t remember that. But ’13 we were a minute from winning from the division.

        • willbest

The Defense was as bad in 2013 as it was in 2014 we just didn’t have the drama because we were a minute away from winning the division, and the offense was the 2nd highest scoring offense in the league that year.

          • I think the Cowboys/Saints D was about as horrendous in those years.

          • BerwynBomber

            Saints D always seems horrendous.

  • Wow. Why did Adams run out of bounds?

Looked like he could’ve kept going all the way.

  • Peanut punch!

  • BerwynBomber

Ballgame. Norman with the Peanut Punch.

  • Go Kelly, go Kelly.
    Fat rob!

    • AlbertInTucson

“Here’s a little bitch slap to take with you back to Green Bay.’

      • I’m DEF gonna tune in to watch the Vadgers/McFatty postgame.

I love how the announcers say the Puke are inj.

        So were we!

        • willbest

heh. I am reminded of your gif from early.

        • AlbertInTucson

No “Dagger” calls for Wayne Larivee lately.

  • AlbertInTucson

Well the last 4 weeks has, at least, fumigated Da Blog of Packer vermin.

  • Dan Snyder getting jiggi with it.

  • A, there’s that 5th rd Hundley.

Make sure u record it cuz might not see him again till 2020

    • MB30SD

      Watching War Dogs

      Super good so far. Fun.

The one dude’s girlfriend is fucking gorgeous. 12

    • BerwynBomber

Hundley with a quick fumbled snap and a pick. Welcome to primetime NFL.

  • willbest

So here is a list of the first 3 round draft picks of the Bears that finished the game today

    2016: Whitehair, Bullard
    2015: none
    2014: none
    2013: none
    2012: none
    etc.

    • Irish Sweetness

      Add Sitton to that list.

      • CanadaBear

He wasn’t a draft pick of the Beloved.

  • BerwynBomber

Bears are 10th in the league in total D.
We are 19th in total O.

    • willbest

Total O is yards gained. We are something like 31st in points scored.

      • Irish Sweetness

        We were 32nd last week.

  • AlbertInTucson

And now, a word from our sponsor..

-Gluttons for punishment, we remain dedicated,

…even as the losing stays on a roll,

At least the hallowed halls are fumigated…

…and cleansed of every STEENKIN’ Packer Troll.

  • And somehow, the Queens and Kittens will find a way to give the div to the Puke somehow.

    • willbest

Nah, we are going to have the honor of ending the Packers playoff chances in week 15.

    • BerwynBomber

Nah, don’t see it for GB this year.

Rodgers actually looked like the artist formerly known as Rodgers tonight — against Norman and a pretty decent pass rush no less — but no D and no rushing attack won’t cut it.

Shit, we might beat the Cheese. Beside SF, they are arguably our weakest remaining opponent.

  • BerwynBomber

Interesting team stat just posted on ESPN: Cheese D gives up 30+points for the fourth straight game. First time that has happened to the Cheese since 1953.

Couple that with no rushing game, and yup, they will be joining us as post-season spectators.

Hell, I wonder if there is any talk to play Hundley the remainder of the year and go for a higher draft slot and give their development guy snaps.

  • AlbertInTucson

We “are lucky than good” in FF

Looks like 26 points keeps us in first as one of 2 8-3 teams,

    • two 8-3 teams?

      Hmmm

There’s more parity in Da League.

      Lots of 5-6 win teams.

      Except me of course.

I’m gonna be 9-2, and have increased my points distance from GP/Shady

      Locked into playoffs.

      #Champ

      • I also have a revenge game coming up vs Artoo and can possibly knock NB from the playoffs in the last game, which would be sooooo sweeet

        • EnderWiggin

7 teams between 4-6 and 6-4. Anybody’s league. Very competitive this year.

          • 505 (Gris) has quietly been putting together a good team.

Not sure if Artoo will be able to hang on to a win on MNF.

Some injuries are gonna make some teams stronger too.

Like Griswold who now has Hill since Gio went down (and Artoo’s will get weaker).

AJ Green is done for the season too, so that’ll hurt GP

          • EnderWiggin

            I /chuckle at every sentence.

      • That Guy

Looks like the Buddy46 division will have Artoo and Trac both one game back. But I do believe I may own the tie-breaker that would make our game irrelevent. How are ties decided for the playoffs?

I climbed out of a miserable 1-5 hole to get into contention. A couple of those games were a bad guess away from wins for me. I left enough points on the bench that losing by single digits got really frustrating. I can’t argue with your production this year though. You outbid me for Ezekiel Elliot in the draft and have been riding him ever since. To the victor go the spoils.

Still, its been a fun season. A lot more competitive than any blog fantasy team before it.

        • Yeah, it’s been super competitive. I mean, you, GP, Artoo, Ender, Shady, pretty much everyone gave me their best, and I squeaked by barely for a few.

And I’m like 160 ahead on points, so it’s been tough all around.

I posted b4, but this week I’ll clarify everything going into playoffs.

There’s actually no ties in our league. The bench decides Tie-breakers.

I’m also giving a 6 point bonus for those with better records (kinda like the points homefield advantage gives), but it’s only going to be the first round of the playoffs.

Yeah, love me some Zeke! Knew he was going to be good.
I also knew Ajayi was gonna be good, but it took stupid ass Gase like 5 weeks to get his thumb out of his ass, or else I would’ve really had a killer roster.

Still, got me some Evans now, and Rawls will be a beast soon enough.

I gotta clean up my Defense though lol

      • AlbertInTucson

Still a horse race in ours, especially with 1 team holding up the bottom at 0-10.

        2 at 8-3, 3 at 6-5, 2 at 5-6 and 1 at 0-10.
