    My Bad Guys, My Bad.

Fangio better have this elite quarterback saying this all game long by bring pressure and creative stunts. If I have to hear how elite this kid is after he hangs 300yds of crossing routes on us i’ll fucking puke.

Here’s to 2-3, a strong and courageous performance by Birdcage and to the future of the Chicago Bears, BRIAN HOYER! Yay!

PS – Birdcage, you fucking clown.
    1. Miller for 5-7 yds on 1st and 2nd downs
    2. Run the fucking toss
    3. Use the fullback
    4. Get Alshon involved early
    5. If Royal is playing please let him get at least 5 to 7 short passes
    6. Meredith on the slant FTW
    7. Move the pocket
    8. Playaction then get the ball out quick
    9. No naked bootlegs (that only works against US)
    10. use the screen game to Howard and Joique Bell

    • chitownproud85

Would be nice to be the team that buries someone else’s season, instead of always looking up from our cozy perch six feet under.

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

Jess, no spilled bird seed today please.

  • Big Mike

Bear the Fuck Down. Also BigMike’s squad improved to 4-0. Down 18-8 at half, roared back and won 40-18. The blog regulars would appreciate the half time adjustments and can of whoop ass and the half time speech. (enough, enough, but it’s not politics, its football )

My key for the day is the Line of Scrimmage. Our OL made progress last week, we need to build on that. Our DL needs a big game.

    Fuck the Packers.

    • MB30SD

Nice work mike. Video that shit next time

      • Big Mike

It’s all on tape. Not the 1/2 time speech. Parents.. might not like me calling them the thing that Trump likes to grab.

        • MB30SD

You’re playin like a buncha fucking pussies out there!!

          • CanadaBear

Here’s Strother Martin as Big Mike at halftime.

            https://youtu.be/mVUrWv4CPSE

          • Big Mike

Just getting them ready for high school. We came our flat, no pop, 2 holding penalties and a false start.

  • MB30SD

    DEAD

    • Big Mike

Also.. good lord NE is playing Cleveland.. In Brady’s first game back. Should that even be sanctioned?

      • MB30SD

Gonna look like the Michigan game yesterday

  • AlbertInTucson

A depressing list of “Doubtful” and “Questionable” Bears just rolled across the bottom of me TV screen.

  • PaceBot 2000

Shady, i pulled an Irsay and have been banging hookers and snorting coke mixed with ground up Smarties instead of managing my Fantasy Squad. I think i’m in trouble today.

  • CanadaBear

Will the Beloved get on a roll and pull this out or does a desperate Colts team save their season at home? It should be a good game unless one or both teams shit the bed. They both have that capability. Bear the fuck down. Go Bears!

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

    Bears 19, Colts 6

Bears D will dial up a safety today, it’s gonna happen.

    • CanadaBear

More likely that Barth misses 2 extra points.

      • willbest

Oh I read 19-10 and I just figured he was drunk because Barth wasn’t going to make 4 FGs

      • Sauron’s right eyeball

        You think? Maybe not.

    • willbest

As I said before, Colts scored 20 points at Mile High, and no less than 26 against everybody else.

Howard runs for 180 and 2 TDs, Hoyer for 280 and 2 TDs, Jeffery for 130 and a 1 TD, Miller for 80 and a TD. Bears 28-27

      • Sauron’s right eyeball

It’s not gonna be easy for Luck to put points on the board from the ICU Will. He’s gonna be sipping through a straw by halftime. Hee hee.

  • MB30SD

God, listening to Chris Berman makes me want to punch him in the face sooooo many times. Fucking painful

    • CanadaBear

Did you see Cookson’s response to Wiggins TUE’s? Cookson is up for re-election in March. Hopefully this does him in. Basically it was tacit approval by the head of cycling to give Wiggins a powerful PED before his biggest races. I think Wiggins will survive and not get stripped.

    • AlbertInTucson

Do what I do: Don’t watch him.

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

He’s overdue for an emergency surgical proceedure. I’ll make a note of this.

  • willbest

Am I really playing Mike Wallace against Washington instead of Hopkins against Minny… Yes. Yes I am.

    • AlbertInTucson

I don’ have Hopkins in my lineup today, either.

      • Johnnywad

A sure way to spark him. Way to take one for the sake of the team Al.

        • AlbertInTucson

Osweiler IN MinnyHaha. I don’t like the smell of that.

          • Johnnywad

Me neither. Which is exactly why it will work

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

      That is a mistake.

  • I am still drunk from last night, so go bears, and go shaved pussy

          • Huge Bears Penis

As of right now, the FOX channel is out in my area. The cable company has an 1 hour to get their shit together, else I am going to go ape shit.

    • willbest

Just Fox? Or your entire cable.

      • Huge Bears Penis

        just Fox

        • willbest

All NewsCorp, or just Fox? What don’t they want you to see man!

          • MB30SD

            how turrible trump is?

          • Huge Bears Penis

how hard is his to understand? seriously you are a lawyer, you can’t be this dense! Just FOX. The Bears game is on FOX. They don’t want me to see the fucking game.

          • willbest

But that makes no sense. How are you supposed to know which ED pill to buy if you don’t watch the football game.

          • MB30SD

awww, poor will. take it easy maings. I know it’s hard not to get the game… that’s me and butch “the 5 whisperer” and my life erra week

Morning gentleman, still drunk from a swank-ass hoity toity wedding last night. Almost fought a Pakistani bar tender that gave lip to the wife. That would have made an awesome wedding story for the bride & groom, but he disappeared like so many emails. Pussy.

    Time to BEAR DOWN mofos!

    • willbest

Every Pakistani wedding I have been too has been “dry” By which I mean bring your own flask. Never seen a Pakistani bartender before.

Probably why he was pissed, being all alone in his world.

  • Huge Bears Penis

did everyone from the blog survive the hurricane?

    • MB30SD

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

  • AlbertInTucson

I think Denver’s D at home will make life miserable for Matt Ryan.

So, I’m going with Derek Anderson vs. Tampa on Monday.

    • I want to say that D will out, but goood lord, 500 yds!

    • willbest

I have Big Ben in as my back up (though I drafted him as my starter). He also put up Madden numbers last week.

  • Like I said in a previous thread, Luck is a bigger amish version of fucking cargo cutty.

It our d doesn’t get an INT or strip sack, I’m gonna be mad.

    #AmishLivesMatter

    • PaceBot 2000

calling someone cargo cutty is fucking disrespectful as he has devoted more to the game he plays than you’ve ever devoted to anything in your life. Sorry, it’s true.

it’s funny, but it’s comical when NARP’s talk shit. Just because some faggot millenial from Gawker or whatever said it doesn’t mean you have to be his little bitch and parrot it.

      • My bad guys, my bad

        Or Cargo version

        Shrugs, lights one up

        • PaceBot 2000

Don’t make me rename you Parrotcage.

When corpses like Lincicome inaccurately continue to characterize Cutler, because he doesn’t spaz out like a fucking sophmore cheerleader who’s been cheated on and doesn’t run around the field like a fucking retard when he throws a TD pass, as not caring it gets frustrating. If only because teammate after teammate as said the opposite.

  • BearDown100393

no controversy, Teddy might not ever come back.

      • Malice Halice

He’s not. The kid is done. Vikes got lucky. I almost shed a man-tear comparing our drafts to Zimmer’s (tho he wasn’t drafted)

    • willbest

Bradford has always been better than teddy. He is even less brittle than teddy

  • Huge Bears Penis

    BARTH!!!!

Edlmen and Fits don’t do that shite

    • BearDown100393

      Awareness

They can call holding any time no w against the colts crappy o line. There’s no way they’re holding their blocks that long no matter how crappy our defensive line is

    • totally agree.

They’re trying to get Luck back in the league, I think

    • madscout12

Only we hold on offense. This is known.

Texans ain’t looking too good. No 1st down yet against the vikes

  • willbest

Aren’t people 100% against us on 4th down?

  • RenoBear

Holy fuck those refs are doing anything they can to make Luck relevant in the NFL again. Call some fucking holding for fucks sake

  • Bender McLugh

    Amos & Callahan

  • PaceBot 2000

He had him wrapped around the midsection. The call was fine, they just aren’t calling holding equally

        • madscout12

Everytime I see holding called on a play like that, I think of the last play of 2013.

  • Huge Bears Penis

    BARTH!!!

  • willbest

  • BuddhaJoe

    Hey Barf didn’t fuck up!

  • Huge Bears Penis

Brady is liking Bennett, 2 TDs already

  • Jack Lacan

Brady going for two thousand yards in a game against Browns.

  • madscout12

Seriously, fuck that holding call. Holding is the way the NFL weighs on games.

  • BuddhaJoe

So the Bears got two holding calls already, but the Colts got none in the 10+ seconds Luck had to survey the field half the plays? Bullshit.

    • RenoBear

This. It is So fuckin ridiculous

  • wtf us up with all these holding penalties against Bears?

U gonna tell me the Colt’s oline is holding on EVERY play?

  • BearDown100393

    Another *#*@! holding penalty.

  • PaceBot 2000

Joe Buck is talking about that not being a catch……except that Cam Meredith had made about 9 football moves before fumbling while going to the ground.

Plugmute, your weave is too tight.

    • Freddy G.P. Soft

      His name is Plugmute

  • Huge Bears Penis

      • u satisfied now?

        #cargoPantsMatter

        • PaceBot 2000

chill biscuit. Not the first time you’ve seen this. He’s doing what he’s asked to do. We just need the 2006 Bears D though.

        • willbest

I didn’t say Hoyer was making mistakes, just that the option has been there

        • PaceBot 2000

dude, he’s playing efficiently. It’s nice. Drive killing penalties have stopped out O from being effective just as it did in the first few games.

    • RenoBear

They’ll use him in the second half… Something like that

    • BuddhaJoe

Apparently they’re trying to keeps his stats down so they can low-ball him next year.

  • willbest

Jeffery is going to kneecap Hoyer at this rate

  • RenoBear

Eat it you bitch ass colts and your home field referee help

  • BuddhaJoe

    HA! Fuck you refs

  • PaceBot 2000

wait, they called a holding on that run for a TD? wow. I had left the room.

    • beninnorcal

Yeah but then they got Meredith’d in the corner of the end zone.

      • PaceBot 2000

oh i saw that one. Thought it was a 2pt conversion. IL STATE baby. ONly 2nd year as a WR. This is a PSH that may just be a baller. Need to work on the grip strength tho.

  • FUCK U REFS. FUCK U IN THE FACE.

    Da Destroya!

  • madscout12

    Now let’s finally get a D stop.

  • Johnnywad

    Somewhere Irish is touching himself.

    • Huge Bears Penis
      • beninnorcal

        Love that episode.

    • Freddy G.P. Soft

It’s only 50 cents to get a Thai hooker to massage your balls during a scoring drive

    • Irish Sweetness

Actually yes. In the people’s democratic republic of Lao.

You have to love the ‘democratic’ part. What a dive. It took me two days to sit down at a computer.

  • beninnorcal

    Muah ha ha haah

  • Pagono is Tresman-esque.

    holy crap

    • BearDown100393

They can fire you but they can’t eat you?!

      • beninnorcal

I was scratching my head too.

        • BearDown100393

          Cancer reference?

          • beninnorcal

That’s what I was thinking too, but it still doesn’t really maje sense. Made me do a double-take.

          • BearDown100393

Irsey… Cancer… Hmmmm….. can this riddle be solved?

  • RenoBear

Holy crap a penalty to wipe out a big gain? I’m fucking shocked

  • RenoBear

Fucking cover fucking Hilton. Fuck man

  • Freddy G.P. Soft

TY Hilton vs Jones? What could go wrong?

    • Johnnywad

      Wasn’t that Crayon Blanc?

      • Freddy G.P. Soft

        Play before that

  • madscout12

That ball was begging to be picked off.

    • beninnorcal

I thought it was getting picked, was just floating.

  • CONTAIN HILTON

    Jesus

  • BuddhaJoe

Jebus they’re giving him all day, how many times does Fangio have to see this?

  • willbest

It’s good to see our offense picking it up this week.

    • and last week.

And the latter half of the cowboys game

      • PaceBot 2000

        garbage time.

      • PaceBot 2000

you’ve officially chosen to forget the drive killing penalties from previous games. It’s ok, i understand. selective memory is a bitch.

      • willbest

Look. I can’t help you if you are going to be a fucking retard. 17 points in 60 minutes is dog shit.

    • Johnnywad

It’s going to be hard to beat Luck without a pass rush. Kinda doesn’t matter after that.

  • beninnorcal

Where’s that safety blitz someone was predicting earlier?

    • I don’t think Fangio will use it until critical down.
That’s his MO, in spite of Irish’s protests

      • beninnorcal

You mean like 3rd and 14?

        • Johnnywad

Travathan blitzed. It was a shit blitz, but it was there.

  • Big Mike

#22 is not good at football

    • BearDown100393

      LeBlanc

      • Johnnywad

        White Crayon

  • RenoBear

    I sure like Callahan

  • beninnorcal

    Nice play by Porter.

  • beninnorcal

    That was sad.

  • RenoBear

12 seconds to throw… No holding. EVER

  • Huge Bears Penis

    someone break his leg!

  • RenoBear

    Cover fucking HILTON

  • What did I say. COVER HILTON. COVER HILTON. COVER HILTON

    • Johnnywad

I think they’re trying Butch. They can’t. Our DBs are overmatched.

      • Put a s over him. Mix coverage. sneak over a Lb.

Fuck. 100yds already, and he’s their ONLY weapon.

        • Johnnywad

I think the ten seconds Luck is getting makes that pretty tough.

          • Yeah, but I still subscribe to the Bill philo.

Take out their #1 weapon, figure out the rest as the game goes along

  • RenoBear

Beat these shit bag fuvkin get colts man

  • Cubsnlinux

Can someone tell me why the heck are Bears allowing Hilton to beat them single handedly? All first half

    • Johnnywad

Because he better than our DBs.

    • willbest

Hilton is on Vic’s fantasy team

      • Cubsnlinux

        Must be

  • RenoBear

These announcers act like the Colts line is a bunch of badasses

    • Johnnywad

      They are today

  • BearDown100393

Unrein dry humped #80 for that football.

  • Freddy G.P. Soft

    What happened to Floyd?

    • Huge Bears Penis

      inactive with injury today

    • came down with suckatils

    • willbest

      He has a leg

    • BearDown100393

      Gangrene.

  • PaceBot 2000

this D line performance is brutal. Brutal.

    • willbest

      Yet we have 3 sacks

      • madscout12

        Not representative of the day.

      • PaceBot 2000

yay! Sacks are not indicative of being effective.

    • Cubsnlinux

Brutal is too much..they have been adequate

    • RenoBear

They’ve been brutally held all friggin day

  • RenoBear

    Fuck yeah. Eat it colts

  • Young coming alive. Great

  • PaceBot 2000

wait, have the Colts scored on every possession?

    • willbest

      Sounds right

    • madscout12

      Yes. Yes They have.

Helps when you can kick 54 yd kicks like it is nothing, but still.

  • RenoBear

Joe Buck showing his colts homer-ism

  • BearDown100393

    We got this.

  • BuddhaJoe

Fuck I hate when they do that. Take two shots down the field, don’t pull that gutless shit, especially when the Colts get the ball to start.

  • 13/16
    NO INTs

If it weren’t for some holding penalties.
    Still in this

    • willbest

And if it wasn’t for a 60 yard run, we would be boned

    • PaceBot 2000

Were in a bad situation. We have an efficient game manager quarterback and a D that needs an OC and QB that take risks.

Hoyer is screwed because we don’t have the time to take shots and injuries limit the talent of the shot takers on the field.

D must step up. Hoyer is doing his job, the D is not doing theirs.

Teams SCORE POINTS on the Colts. That is the truth. We cannot get FG’s when we need TD’s. The penalties have NOTHING to do with the QB.

    • Big Mike

Had 2 drives turned into FG instead of TD by penalties

  • Sam Acho is limited but fuck does he play hard. – Jeff

Concur. Dude is a ball of energy. Sometimes, that’s infectious.

    Better than Floyd at least

    • willbest

Pace’s ability to find value at the bottom of the roster is impressive, I just wish he could figure out how to hit homers in the first 3 rounds

  • PaceBot 2000

Draft and FA heading into next year is obvious at this point. IMPACT edge rusher. Impact D lineman that can rush the passer and in FA we need a O weapon and more linemen.

And of course the obligatory late round safety or corner pick. Maybe it’s time to spend money and get a top one or two.

  • willbest

Why is there not better eye candy between skip and shannon

  • madscout12

    A stop!

  • willbest

    Lucky

  • Huge Bears Penis

    Lucked out there.

  • just the tip

  • BearDown100393

    LOL, Colts special teams.

  • madscout12

    Who was that, Dumass?

  • “Poise”

  • bad throw. Even worse call

    • Huge Bears Penis

      one of those intangible passes

      • madscout12

        Leadership

      • he’s like 14 of 17

More importantly, NO strip sacks. NO ints.

Still, can’t sail it like that no matter the call.

  • Freddy G.P. Soft

    Acho has to do everything

  • willbest

A waterproof smart watch is pretty cool

  • This is asking a lot of the D

Hopefully they figured out to cover Hilton.

  • Colt’s trying to get the run game going.

    Gore is old.

  • Freddy G.P. Soft

    Pink river ugh

  • 3 and 7.
    Cmon , D!

  • willbest

    What the hell

    • madscout12

      Don’t worry. Hilton didn’t engage. I checked

  • BuddhaJoe

    Another bullshit penalty

  • Hey, Fangio, Callahan is NOT a shudown corner

    • Freddy G.P. Soft

That would be Fuller, oh wait

  • willbest

    There we go

  • willbest

    Ugh

  • lemme guess. Another bs penalty on 3rd and long

  • RenoBear

There was no penalty either side there. Wtf

  • BLITz. Fangio. It’s not illegal

    • Irish Sweetness

      NO balls.

  • Double Hilton. Wathc out for TE

  • willbest

Held them to 3 still 1 score

  • still only a TD down.

We score here, then let the Colts self destruct under Amish

  • Don’t ever throw to Paulsen again

    • willbest

That was to get rid of it

  • Freddy G.P. Soft

    Alshon is invisible

    • willbest

He must have slept with hoyer’s sister or something

      • he’s hurt (surprise). I wouldn’t throw to him either.

        • willbest

Hurt Jeffery is still a top 30 WR. And he has been open

          • Irish Sweetness

What does that make Cam now?

            (covers mouth)
            TEE-HEE!

          • willbest

Somebody who can’t hold onto the fucking ball.

  • BearDown100393

    #Barthed

  • bad play call

Gotta get like 5 yds for FG

  • just the tipp

  • willbest

    Cut hm

  • BearDown100393

    #Barthed Again

  • Huge Bears Penis

    CUT HIM!

  • BearDown100393

A guy twice his age doesn’t miss these kicks.

  • RenoBear

Omg fucking cut Barf. He is FUCKING TERRIBLE

  • Christ almighty

  • BuddhaJoe

Shit should’ve just gone for it, that guy blows dogs.

  • madscout12

    Better be tryouts this week.

  • beninnorcal

I was ok with them letting Robbie go if they were bettering the team somehow, with Sitton or whatever.
What I didn’t know was that he being replaced by the worst kicker ever.

    • Freddy G.P. Soft

      Fuck Pacebot

  • RenoBear

I mean holy fuck how much does a kicker need to suck??? Get him the fuck out of there

  • beninnorcal

I’m just laughing now everytime Barth misses.

    • Freddy G.P. Soft

But he’s automatic inside 20 yards

      • beninnorcal

        lol

  • We got robbed like 9 points, then another 3 by Barf

  • Bender McLugh

    Seriously. Fuck you Barth.

  • I don’t know how the Colts are winning, but they are

    • willbest

Our D has forced 1 punt

  • Bender McLugh

Time enough to right the offense, let’s do this Birdcage.

  • beninnorcal

Looked like Hicks just got a little ding’d-up.

  • beninnorcal

    Well he’s back.

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

Dropping too much birdseed. This is driving me crazy.

  • Huge Bears Penis

    grounding!

  • madscout12

    Intentional grounding

  • there you go, Fangio.

    Disguised Blitz

    What a concept!

    • Bender McLugh

Blitz calls have been telegraphed all day until that one

  • beninnorcal

Boom, let’s get some fucking points now.

  • Let’s hope Hoyers shoulder is not in two

  • beninnorcal

    Ah fuck.

  • willbest

    Of course…

  • BearDown100393

    Derp.

  • My bad guys, my bad

  • Snoopy Peanuts

how did he not block that?

    • willbest

      Cut him

  • tried hard not to block that

  • willbest

Oh they remember they had a #1 WR

    • BearDown100393

      #BirdCage

  • madscout12

    In barf range

    • BearDown100393

      No guarantee

  • BearDown100393

We’re getting the TD. 1 point or 2?

  • Pllllz no holding penalty

And that looked like a perfect deep ball to Alshon

  • BuddhaJoe

Hoyer needs to look at Alshon more, but other than that he’s done well. Hated on him for the last two weeks so it’s only fair.

    • madscout12

      Especially in the redzone

  • attack whatever guy went out

  • willbest

    We don’t like TDs apparently.

  • Royal and Hoyer not on same page

Don’t think they’re in sync with audibles

    • willbest

Jeffery was angry he was probably open on the other side

  • willbest

The 19 for the Bears is starting to look right

  • madscout12

    What a call.

Don’t worry, Alshon isn’t taller than EVERY CB THEY HAVE.

  • COVER Hilton.
    Contain Luck
    Disguised blitz on 3rd

  • willbest

Pats probably just going to rest Brady next season for 4 games because it agrees with him

  • willbest

Good job Chicago. Way to give the pats exactly what they needed for nothing

    • madscout12

He wanted out of here. And he played like garbage here

      • willbest

        Well he did last year

        • madscout12

Yup. He wasn’t injured at the end of the year. He refused to play

  • Fisheeer man!

  • willbest

My hatred for our punter found a new high

  • Johnnywad

I hope the Bears choose to employ 17 on this ever important possession.

  • RenoBear

Pat O’donnell can only do that in his wet dreams

  • lol of COURSE when our D and O step up, our specials fucks up

    • Johnnywad

      We have 16 points.

    • willbest

We aren’t allowed to have nice things

  • BuddhaJoe

    Willie!

  • willbest

I hope willie is still healthy when we get nanny back

  • Big Mike

Every time another punter has a nice punt, i hate our guy more

    • Johnnywad

Same here. That’s called something. What is it?

      • I’m sure there’s a german word for it

        • Johnnywad

That’s what I’m thinking. You’re the philo guy. What is it?

  • what is up with all these HB tosses? Is that specific to Colts D?

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

Howard is going to be around a while. Enjoy watching him.

    • Snoopy Peanuts

      poor langford

    • Johnnywad

Don’t jinx him. Ruptured Achilles in 3,2,1….

  • just the tip

  • Freddy G.P. Soft

Every time Miller gets hit I think he will shatter

    • haha, me too.
I’m like, “Just dive, Miller. Dive, baby. Like a stukka”

      • Freddy G.P. Soft

        Nice Stuka reference

  • madscout12

No Apple…I’m not going in the rain with that $1100 phone. Not with how the previous ones broke.

    • BearDown100393

That dude would not be listening to AC/DC either.

      • madscout12

        Notice: water RESISTANT.

  • Howard is so patient. and vicious. nice combo

    • BearDown100393

      Beast!

  • BearDown100393

    13-3

    • Freddy G.P. Soft

      Tee hee

  • HOYA DA DESTROYA

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

Philly has a good FG kicker, Can we sign a college drop out on monday please? Sigh.

  • willbest

Alright D the O finally hit the NFL average. This is on you now

  • like i said. More checkdowns. mo Miler.

    Tigerblood.

    Just the tip

    • Johnnywad

Ok. I gotta ask. What’s “Just the tip.”

      • Freddy G.P. Soft

It’s what Butch says just before he goes Balls deep

        • Huge Bears Penis

          he’s a baller!

  • Johnnywad

OK OK OK. Irish may have something here with Meredith. He gets to stay. And Howard…….making me forget all about Matty. Dude’s legit.

    • Matty who?

    • madscout12

Remember Marty’s first game. Christened this field by beating Indy

      • Snoopy Peanuts

        yeah! 2008 game 1

      • Johnnywad

Sure do. More finesse though. Howard’s punishing inside and hitting the edge as well.

        • madscout12

Yeah, but he ran one for like 40 right up the middle.

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

Keep it tight defense. Interception please.

  • Freddy G.P. Soft

So it was Cutler not Birdcage all this time?

    • BearDown100393

#BirdCage was terrible and would have corrupted Montana.

    • madscout12

      No. Oline. Langford. Birdcage

    • BerwynBomber

During the Jay era, it’s ALWAYS blame the OC.

C’mon, GP. Get with the program.

  • BearDown100393

Twitter Guy doesn’t waste time crapping on Hoyer.

  • I’m sorry, you give Jay Cutler this protection & 7.0 yards/carry, the #Bears have more than 16 points. And Jeffery has more than 3 targets.- Hoge

    Don’t forget, the losing!

    • willbest

      Could lose this one

    • BerwynBomber

We would have scored 45 with Cutler! We did it all the time!

    • BearDown100393

How many turnovers at the QB position today? Just asking.

  • BearDown100393

Funny how when the Bears are legit terrible, they get called out (as it should be). But when the team does well, a plethora of excuses are puked (looking at you Aikman) instead of acknowledging due credit.

  • Johnnywad

Well we’re going to get to see if Hoyer has “It”. He may have to go win this one.

    • BerwynBomber

Agreed. Jay always brought us from behind. That’s why he carried us into the post-season so often.

      • Johnnywad

My comment has nothing to do with Jay.

        • BerwynBomber

          Uh-huh …

          • Johnnywad

You have the wrong guy Bomber. I don’t give a shit anymore.

  • I hope fangio knows it’s 4 down territory, and we need time to score ourselvs

  • BearDown100393

Hilton’s killed the secondary all game.

  • willbest

    Holding… No? Looked like it

  • madscout12

    How bout a holding call?

  • COVER HILTON

    • Freddy G.P. Soft

      Jacobied

      • They only have ONE guy. ONE fucking guy and some white TE.

        Jesus.

        • Freddy G.P. Soft

Prosinski had responsibility to headhunt Hilton there

  • BearDown100393

Down by 3. Need to think win with a TD, not tie with FG. #Barth

  • We’re gonna find out if Cutty is going to play next week on this drive

  • willbest

    Good job thompson

  • BuddhaJoe

Fuck that was a beautiful play, too bad it was the wrong team.

  • madscout12

    Take.the.touchback

  • 25. Nah, we’re good. 15

  • willbest

    Not a catch

    • BerwynBomber

Looked like one to me. Second step before it was punched out.

  • Hoyers fault, obviously

    • willbest

Would need to know if Jeffery was open first

      • BearDown100393

A NFL receiver of any ilk needs to complete that pass cleanly.

    • PaceBot 2000

You have become very douchey. Sad.

  • BearDown100393

How many yards, time of possession, turnover risk, downs etc wasted because return team refuses to take a knee on kickoffs and allow the offense to start on the 25?

  • ugggh. Plzzzz reverse that. Baby jebus, beautiful jebus, eight pound baby jebus, don’t even say a word at all…

    • beninnorcal

I think he had it before he slid out. Colts ball.

  • willbest

Hold them to 3 or this is over

  • Bender McLugh

    Muthafuckin STICK-UM

  • ugh. Hoyer’s forte is not coming back with little clock and no time outs.

Maybe we can put in Cutty for relief pitching lol

  • willbest

Colts look like they are going to make Hoyer beat them

  • BearDown100393

Need this stop. 1 stop. Or that clock gets chewed along with our timeouts.

  • Yuge 3rd. Yuge

  • willbest

    Lester… Nice

  • BearDown100393

Andrew Luck failing at pretending to be Manning .

  • Huge Bears Penis

    Calahan has a hammy

  • My bad guys, my bad

    #cargoTrousers

  • BearDown100393

    Huge no flag.

  • BearDown100393

    He’s got a miss at least once…..

    • willbest

40 in a row now. Longest nfl streak

      • BearDown100393

        Incredible.

  • willbest

So help me if Thompson doesn’t down this in the end zone

    • madscout12

Then it better be passed the 40

  • Freddy G.P. Soft

    Fuck Leblanc

    • BearDown100393

He didn’t draw PI. I’ll take it.

      • Johnnywad

I can believe the flag didn’t show up. I really can’t.

  • RenoBear

I hate our fucking kicker. It’s hard to watch a great kicker when our guy is abject dogshit

    • BearDown100393

Viniatari is a Canton guy. Belongs there when he calls it quits at 65.

      • Irish Sweetness

        He’s surely the GOAT.

  • BearDown100393

On the 25. North of the two minute warning. Plenty of time. Don’t do anything stupid against this JV defense.

  • soooo beautiful, baldie

  • BearDown100393

    Miller’s hurt.

  • Johnnywad

Holy shit. Don’t score too fast Bears

    • willbest

Especially since their kicker doesn’t give a shit about 55 yards

      • Johnnywad

My son has him on his fantasy team. 23 points thus far.

    • crazy, right/.

We might actually have to run it at least once to milt the clock

      • BearDown100393

I wouldn’t get too cute with the clock.

  • wow, Loins just beat the Eagles

  • Freddy G.P. Soft

    Fuck Bayless

  • willbest

You got 2 downs don’t get cute

  • Don’t know about the empty set. At least feign the run

  • willbest

    Shit

  • Johnnywad

Hoyer is going to have to throw to 17 to win games

  • willbest

    I would 4th and 5 instead of 3&15

  • nother holding. ugh

    • Freddy G.P. Soft

      Fuck Massie

  • willbest

    Game

  • BearDown100393

    Why wasn’t timeout called?

  • willbest

    Good job leave Jeffery hangng

  • BearDown100393

    Alshon was open.

  • Johnnywad

Yeah. Ok. Fuck you Hoyer. Look at fucking AJ on occasion. Jesus.

  • how is that not PI?

    • madscout12

      Cause Bears

    • willbest

They really haven’t been calling it. I think there was just the 1 on the bears

  • RenoBear

Oh god Alshon was so grotesquely wide open. I got fuckin heartburn

    • madscout12

Don’t worry. Hoyer would have sailed it anyway.

      • RenoBear

I could’ve hit that fuvkin throw

  • BerwynBomber

Ah well. Good job by Hoyer filling in. Hopefully Cutty is good to go for JAX.

Penalties and RZ efficiency killed us.

    • Freddy G.P. Soft

      Cutty is done here

      • BerwynBomber

Nah. Pace hasn’t drafted anyone. Hell, we haven’t drafted anyone.

Cutty will get another shot this season. What he does with it and what we do with him in the off-season are other matters.

  • BearDown100393

Have to believe a throw anywhere near Jeffery and he is coming down with that football for the TD.

    • Have to figure out what the progession was.

Looked Jeffery might’ve been his 3rd progression. That call was obviously designed to go to the right.

Most likely cuz they didn’t want to challenge Vontae Davis.

      Either way, sucks to lose

      • willbest

Now who is making excuses. Your boy played a great game up until the last bears offensive play. And then he fucked up

  • Huge Bears Penis

Hoyer seems to only look right side of the field, probably why Jeffery is left hanging a lot.

    • think birdcage logic “Alshon will get best corner, and maybe doubled”

When Alshon broke, the ball was almost out already.

      • Bender McLugh

Hoyer once again missed open receivers.

        • The play wasn’t designed to go to Alshon.

He looked right right away. By the time Alshon broke open, Hoyer was already delivering.

          Check it out again.

No QB can see the whole field at once. Not even in madden.

Hoyer with another efficient no TO 300 yd game

          • willbest

He lost the game he could have won. Get off his cock.

          • He lost the game? how?

He shoud have known Alshon was gonna be open before hand and thrown to his 2nd/3rd progession first.

I can almost guarantee that play was designed to go right, away from Alshon.

A Qb doesn’t go for 300 yds by making stupid mistakes.

          • willbest

Heh. You sound like me last week.

          • Johnnywad

Fuck. That. At some point he has to look at there and see AJ, one on one, with one throw to make to win the game. His stats are impressive, but at some point you have to be a gamer to win a game. He is not.

I’m glad he spread the ball around. I’m glad Meredith can be a nice third receiver. But he needs to realize a blue chip player is a blue chip player. You win games with 17.

          • BerwynBomber

I can’t blame him for not seeing 17 on one play. That can happen to any QB. Even Brady. But I do blame him or the Bears for not going more to Alshon in the RZ. That and jump balls are his bread and butter.

          • willbest

He actually missed Jeffery twice in the end zone when he chucked it over royal instead. We might actually see Jeffery find his inner diva at this rate.

          • teams OFTEN got to non-blue chip players.

Look at brady. Three TDs to Bennett and 100 yds to Hogan

            Not Gronk or Eldmen.

The design was to go right, away from Alshon.

Hoyer had a fantastic day, no reason to doubt that he looked where he was supposed to.

Maybe he could’ve audibled, or give Alshon the not pre-snap, but I bet he probably thought the S was going to be over Alshon.

But that’s not Hoyer. Like I said, he’s gonna run the system, for better or worse.

Good news. No INTs, no strip sacks

Bad news, he doesn’t go rogue and change plays to maybe win a game (which the bears never be into if INTs and strip sacks took place)

          • Irish Sweetness

I think Gronk is still injured.

          • Scharfinator

I agree, but Jay isn’t a winner either.

          • BerwynBomber

He didn’t lose the game. Hoyer didn’t come thru in the end. What cost us the game were RZ penalties. And the fact that you get so pissed about this convo is a major tell.

          • Bender McLugh

            And you both are right.

          • willbest

I am not pissed. He lost a game he could have won. I am mad about that. Mad about the kicker, the refs, etc. but he had a chance to win and lost it

          • Bender McLugh

Who fucking cares that the play wasn’t design to go to Alshon… fucker should have seen that. He still had a great game, honestly, but I’m still fucking pissed.

  • BearDown100393

    12-4

    • AlbertInTucson

      Uh, no.

  • Malice Halice

Hoyer did decent. 3 games for 300+ no int. I think I can taste me toes

    • madscout12

      Great between the 30s

      • AlbertInTucson

Penalties derailed at least 3 red zone trips.

  • BuddhaJoe

WTF Hoyer? I was just defending you then you pull moronic shit like that?

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

If Barth isn’t cut by Monday, Fox is a bigger douche than I thought.

    • chitownproud85

Yeap. Two shots at the “same” field goal, and the same result. Its pretty clear the guy isnt “the” guy, so shouldnt we be bringing in someone…anyone…everyone…to try out this week? How can you possibly continue with that guy going forward. Fuck that.

  • madscout12

Disgusting. We are absolutely better than the fucking garbage Colts.

    • willbest

      Our defense isn’t

    • Bender McLugh

      Agreed

  • Also, if it wasn’t for that fucking holding call, we would’ve still been able to run it.

    Shit.

    • BerwynBomber

Yeah, we can all bash Hoyer for costing us the game, apparently.

But Massie’s holding penalty was pretty damn deadly.

      • madscout12

        4th and 5 vs 4th and 8.

        • BerwynBomber

Yep, and those three yards make a difference percentage-wise. Especially with an underneath guy like Hoyer.

        • Don’t forget all the yds Hoyer and Royal had to make up for the penalty to even get it to 4rth and 5.

      • willbest

It’s like with a FG miss. Yeah there was other stupid shit, but that was the last effort and it was bad

        • BerwynBomber

          Agreed

      • PaceBot 2000

Penalties are a killer man. Deadly.

        • BerwynBomber

Yeah, they were all day. Seemed like every time we were in the RZ we had a bad one.

Weird thing is, we actually benefitted from the same against HOU in the opener. Their O kept doing the same shit ours did today.

    • AlbertInTucson

I question going empty backfield when the Bears still had plenty of time left.

  • Bender McLugh

    Angry.

  • Huge Bears Penis

is there a site that tracks where completions happen on the field?

  • Freddy G.P. Soft

    Bradford is kicking ass

  • Bender McLugh

Here’s an idea…..let’s fucking cut Massie. Head-case can do better than his broke ass

  • BerwynBomber

Hoyer’s an excellent back-up but ultimately he is a back-up. Or spot starter. His ceiling is bridge guy.

    • Johnnywad

Hence the six teams he’s been on and going undrafted. When I said I was looking for “It”, I meant find a way to win a game. He didn’t. It was staring him in the face and he didn’t see it. He’s obviously protecting the football well, but that isn’t enough in itself. It doesn’t appear he has the rest.

      • BerwynBomber

Yeah, I didn’t expect him to morph into Joe Montana there. LOL.

In fairness, if not for Meredith’s fumble we probably, at worst, go to OT.

        • Johnnywad

I still don’t get the fixation on Meredith. But whatever. The kid can contribute.

          • BerwynBomber

Here’s my theory. He and Hoyer have worked out a lot on the second team. They have reps that way. Hence, Hoyer’s favoritism toward him.

          • Irish Sweetness

He should be starting over White, that’s all. Howard and MErdith aren’t doing anything they weren’t doing in pre-season. Both were best on the team at their positions.

  • BuddhaJoe

Just an all-around fail. Defense was good in the red zone but was crap between the 20’s, offensive play calling blew in the 2nd half, and Fox is gutless.

  • Bender McLugh

Hey Cam, there’s a product called Stick-um. Look into it buddy.

    • AlbertInTucson

      It’s been illegal for years.

      • Bender McLugh

        And…..?

      • Huge Bears Penis

jerry rice admitted to using it even though it was illegal.

  • Scharfinator

“Jay wins games in crunch time. Hoyer can’t. Jay Cutler wins this game today.” – Jeff

If Jay *gets* us to that situation, I agree. Most of the time he’s thrown two picks by then and we’re already down by 14. However, he would have hit Alshon on that 4th down.

    • chitownproud85

There is no guarantee that Jay would have blown it, but I agree with the sentiment of this post. The idea that Jay is the difference between winning and losing is just ridiculous at this point. His starts are, what, 50-49, or something like that? I know they flashed the graphic today. 6-11 without him, I guess most are assuming that with him, he would be 51-49(or whatever extremely minimal separation it is). Can we get over this yet? 1-4, and 2016 is over already. Fuck man. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

      • Scharfinator

It’s so hard to say. Sure, we’re worse without Cutler record wise. But that’s because he’s been tapped as *the guy*. Backups are playing when he isn’t in. What if we made someone else *the guy*? It’s hard to say that we’d be better or worse.

That stat, while interesting, doesn’t really tell us much because it excludes alternatives.

        • Irish Sweetness

Cutty would be hitting Meredith and AJ downfield though. Howard would take the pressure of no-ground-game off him. Play-action with Cutty is a weapon, with Hoyer it’s not.

          • Scharfinator

            Prove it?

We can what if until next weekend, but we really don’t know where we would have been if Cutler had been in

    • willbest

Yes in that moment, with a healthy Jay on the field, the Bears win 9 times out of 10. It is not at all obvious Jay has us in that moment though.

  • BuddhaJoe

And Bennett had more production than Gronk today. Fuck you Pace

    • Bender McLugh

      Ha. Thanks Obama.

    • Huge Bears Penis

Gronk had more yardage. Bennett is going to the open guy for TDs because teams will focus on Gronk

      • Bender McLugh

        Gronk-Uni > Gronk-Hernandez

        • Huge Bears Penis

both are a killer combination. one so more than the other

  • BerwynBomber

The AFCS is horrid. I’m not sold on HOU. If TENN had kept Whisenhunt I’d be willing to bet on them. Mularkey? Not so much …

    • willbest

I still think the jags figure out how to get that defense they bought/drafted going as the rooks get up to nfl speed

  • willbest

How the hell did we win the halftime adjustments game and still lose

    • Huge Bears Penis

missed an important adjustment. COVER TY HILTON!!!

      • AlbertInTucson

I’m sure Colt fans were screaming “Cover Meredith”!

    • AlbertInTucson

      Game’s only turnover was big.

      • AlbertInTucson

As was the game’s only missed FG.

        • chitownproud85

These two points are key. I’m not sure the outcome is different(as far as win-loss), but yes – that fumble and that missed goal(s) were very big. The Bears margin for error is razor thin, which is something we can all agree on. Losing the turnover battle and missing on a FG in which you had a do-over…just cant overcome that. ….and yet they almost did. Depressing. 2-3 was right there…we could touch it…but it was for naught.

          • AlbertInTucson

            “Razor thin.”

            That’s putting mildly.

They had ZERO turnovers last week and just squeaked by.

  • BuddhaJoe

So if the Bears don’t do better than last year the GM and the whole coaching staff needs to go IMO. They ditched the good parts of the team and have only marginally improved the parts that sucked. Normally I’d say a coach or GM needs more time but Pace/Fox didn’t just burn that bridge, they vaporized it and salted the ashes.

    • willbest

Howard is an upgrade, Miller is a wash. Whitehair is a good replacement of slauson, but he should still be on the team

      • BuddhaJoe

Forte/Howard would be a force but he’s gone. Miller’s OK but nowhere near Black Uni, and his attitude was because the team sucked. And if we hadn’t ditched Marshall for jack shit we’d still have a pro-bowl receiver and not wasted the 7th overall on a guy that can’t stay on the field. Pace fucked it up bad and his good free agent signings haven’t made up for it on the field.

        • willbest

Marshall or cutler had to go.

          • BuddhaJoe

Nah they dumped him because he wanted to do a TV show, not because of that. Which is fucking dumb as rocks.

          • Scharfinator

Kinda. You gotta remember the state of the lockerroom when POX showed up.

          • BerwynBomber

That’s what BMarsh claims. My suspicion is they dumped because he was a pain in the ass in the locker room and most everyone had tired of him. The TV show was icing.

          • Irish Sweetness

BM’s my boy. How would McCown, Marshall and two first round picks sound now?

        • Bender McLugh

We knew going into this season about Z needing a Uni to be great.

        • MB30SD

          12 for 53 today

          • willbest

Did he get hurt or did they just abandon the run? He was at 7 for 47 in the 2nd quarter

          • MB30SD

            No idea. He’s 33?

          • willbest

            31 I believe

          • MB30SD

that’s like, what, 75 in NFL football years?

    • Bender McLugh

Nope. Understand your anger though. I FUCKING DO

  • willbest

Oh and fuck you nfl for making the national game is bengals boys instead of Falcons broncos

    • Huge Bears Penis

at least they did not make it the Rams/Bills game

    • AlbertInTucson

      Getting Falcons/Broncos here.

  • BerwynBomber

Howard’s running style is similar to Walter’s. He doesn’t have the latter’s shake’n’bake or creativity, of course. But the vision, leg churn and power are like Walter’s.

Howard and Bryce Callahan will get significant raises some day.

    • AlbertInTucson

The holding call on Callahan vs. Hilton was BOGUS. Hilton initiated that contact.

    • Bender McLugh

Forte. Thought it was him on the first series

      • MB30SD

Shhhhhhhhhh, you’ll get dave all hot and bothered

        • Bender McLugh

Haha agree though, Howard is making it easy to not miss him

  • AlbertInTucson

“Not hard to imagine The Bears at 3-3”.

    Shush, please.

    • willbest

If Cleveland wasn’t so incompetent At drafting QBs I would be annoyed with last weeks win

      • AlbertInTucson

Because are so much BETTER at drafting QBs…?

        • willbest

It improves our odds if they take one?

          • AlbertInTucson

            I won’t argue THAT point.

        • BerwynBomber

We draft QBs? When? Oh you mean the 20th century? Gotcha.

    • Bender McLugh

Well of course NOW. Believe in 4-4? can i get a 4-4?

      • AlbertInTucson

I said so when it was first first posted a couple of threads back.

Let’s see if they can get to 2-4 before we beat the drum for 4-4.

        • Huge Bears Penis

          12-4!

          • AlbertInTucson

            Put the pipe down.

        • Bender McLugh

          Agreed

  • willbest

Man Dak looks legit. Why didn’t we use one our 15 forth rounders on him

    • ButtonShoes

Because our GM is a dumbass.

      • Huge Bears Penis

some of our fans are too.

        • MB30SD

And some posters here…. names buttons

          • Huge Bears Penis

I didn’t want to be an asshole and straight out and say that.

          • MB30SD

            I know. You’re welcome.

I did it just for fun (as usual) now look who’s aaaallll bent outta shape.

          • ButtonShoes

Posting here has taught me that there’s a lot of delusional Bears fans who don’t want to accept that we have a bad team with idiots running it, and that we’ve had that for a long, long time, and that it isn’t OK.

      • Irish Sweetness

        Ayuh.

    • Bender McLugh

      Who’d we draft instead, Glenn?

      • BerwynBomber

Glenn, I believe, was a UDFA. As was Callahan.

    • BerwynBomber

We drafted a bunch of guys named Deion in the fourth round.
Actually, I like Hall. Btw, did he do anything today?

      • CanadaBear

        Inactive.

      • Johnnywad

        Injured

      • Irish Sweetness

        Good corner.

    • MB30SD

Cause we suck balls at drafting?

    • Scharfinator

I don’t remember the blog screaming for Dak come draft time… but I didn’t pay a lot of attention then either.

      • willbest

We didn’t, but we aren’t scouts. I think I am more frustrated we took no fliers on QB’s in the draft than I am on missing Dak specifically. I mean Dak is Bradyesque in that nobody knew he was going to elevate to the NFL. And I know Connor Shaw has a leg. But Connor Shaw has already been passed on by everybody.

      • Irish Sweetness

I don’t recall anyone anywhere mentioning his name – his third round status means every team passed on him at least twice. Including Dallas.

  • BerwynBomber

Here’s a bucket of cold reality. For years we’ve worried about Rodgers and GB but they’re not even the best team in our division anymore. And though Rodgers is slipping a bit, he’ll still make GB dangerous all on his own.

But all of us (Bears, GB and DET) could be playing second fiddle to MIN in the coming years. They’re not an old team.

    • willbest

Its also a team that is going to need $$$ to stay together. That being said, I think its their division to lose for the next 2-3 years.

    • MB30SD

I’m much more ok with that than the packers. Cunts

      • willbest

Well for the moment. They win the division 3-4 years in a row and you will change your tune.

        • MB30SD

          Nah, fucking hate the packers

      • BerwynBomber

Fair enough. But not really my point. More that we’ll have to deal with Rodgers just to get to MIN. Degree of difficulty increase.

        • MB30SD

I got your point. I selfish used your platform to establish my own. Thanks…. and you’re welcome

  • Scharfinator

Watching our game today, assuming our LB doesn’t fall apart – I think we could be quite good in 2-3 years. IF we find a good solution at QB.

    • Bender McLugh

This next draft it will happen. I’d be happy to take the Oklahoma kid.

  • AlbertInTucson

Wondering how the Bears did NOT block that one Colt punt.

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

Wondering how eye keep getting suckered into not believing my lying eye. How can an NFL team field a guy like Barth. How?

  • chitownproud85

So wait…is Jeff back on the Cutler bandwagon this week…even though the stats are no different? He can see why they’d go with Hoyer last week but not after this week? What. The. Fuck. Am. I. Missing. Other than the result? I seem to remember a fumble and some missed field goal(s) that had something to do with today. I was wrong folks. 3-3 isnit happening. I’ll own it. So close…but so goddamned far. Isnt that always the way? Bear down!

    • BerwynBomber

He loves Cutty. He bashed Hoyer last Sunday too. He just sang a different tune on Monday (for whatever reason).

That he is bashing Hoyer for 400 yards passing, 500 yards total and 23 points is less surprising than he changed his tune for a moment last Monday. Should be an interesting article tomorrow.

      • willbest

Gotta close. Remember that game when Tony Romo lead the offense to 48 points and people called him a choke artist because he threw a pick in the closing minutes and they lost 52-48 or whatever it was.

        • BerwynBomber

I hear ya. But Romo was a starter and, at times, a top 10 guy. Expectations of Hoyer are lower. At least mine are/were.

Ultimate point: people wanting Jay back as the starter or saying that Jay is superior to Hoyer is fine. But I don’t get the bashing Hoyer thing, except for his first half against DAL the guy has played well.

          • willbest

Hoyer in my mind did enough to start against the Jags regardless if Jay is Healthy. But this week they need to teach him to not ignore Jeffery. I know he likes Meredith because he is used to working with the 2’s, and him and Meredith have good chemistry, but you gotta use your play makers.

          • BerwynBomber

If Jay’s ready, he should start. Had we won today, the argument for Hoyer would be stronger. Or if it were late in the season and we were officially eliminated from the post-season.

That said, if Hoyer does start (for whatever reason) I completely agree with you about Jeffrey. I wasn’t even that upset about the final play as I was that Hoyer rarely looked for him in the RZ. Throwing a fade to Eddie and not Jeffrey? Made no sense.

          • willbest

My thought is like Oz in Denver last year. Hoyer is going to have a bad game eventually (most likely against the Vikings). Then you can put Jay in and showcase him for trade value or opt to keep him for another season. At 1-4 this year is done so its about building for next year.

Which QB Cutler or Hoyer is going to get our offense the most experience for 2017?

          • BerwynBomber

Valid point but 1-4 is not white flag time for the coaching staff and if you’re trying to win games Cutler gives you a better chance than Hoyer does. Mind you, because of Cutty’s floor, I don’t know if the win/loss odds would be dramatically different, but they are still different.

Then again, Fox might look at that 0 INTs in 12 quarters and go with Hoyer. But I’d argue Cutty’s ceiling slightly makes up for the mistakes in comparison to Hoyer. (Hence, the slightly higher W/L odds.)

The trade/2017 calculation is not going to be part of their thinking. Especially not this early.

          • SC Dave

            No, he shouldn’t.

          • SC Dave

Hoyer is a better option than Cutler for sure, but I definitely agree with the “not ignore Jeffery” thing. But maybe that’s per Pox instructions – hate to have to pay him TOO much to make up for our #7 pick bust, right?

          • willbest

Except Jeffery’s agent will pull out a highlight tape with the 150 times this season he was wide open and not thrown to by Hoyer and then go to FA and get paid $15 mil a season anyway.

        • Sauron’s right eyeball

What about the time he fumbled against the Seahawks near the end zone? I think it was in the playoffs. Dallas fans died a thousand deaths that day.

      • BearDown100393

Yes because Brian Hoyer misses field goals.

        • Bender McLugh

Barth can fuck off for real.

          • BearDown100393

#BirdCage is challenged enough without having to game plan/factor an ineffective FG kicker. And that must have an impact on the offense as well.

        • SC Dave

And makes multiple holding penalties in the red zone.

    • willbest

Jay wasn’t ready to play. If Jay was ready to play whats his but would be off the 53, and Jay would be holding the clipboard.

    • SC Dave

96 yard drive to take the lead. Definitely NOT Cutler territory.

      • willbest

And no 4th quarter comeback, which is also not Cutler territory.

  • BerwynBomber

MIN, ATL, DAL and PHI as the top teams in the NFC? Times are a changin’, though SEA will probably have something to say by season’s end.

  • MB30SD

Could be worse… we could be chargers fans?

    • Bender McLugh

Oh but the foods in San Diego…. push?

      • MB30SD

I couldn’t live anywhere else my maings (except Cape Town, but not without my babies)… and I’m a Bears fan, so don’t give a fuck about the turrible sports teams.

    • willbest

Did they blow another one in the last 2 minutes?

      • MB30SD

        Of course

      • MB30SD

        yep

    • BearDown100393

      Chargers fans is an oxymoron.

  • Bender McLugh

So in Aruba, had a tenderloin file that cooked perfect mid-rare (Venezuelan grass-fed beef, no shit) with fried goose liver on top. Holy fuck I didn’t know how incredibly delicious foie gras is. Amuse was the restaurant

    • Bender McLugh

      This makes me happy.

    • willbest

I love foie gras. Also sweetbread is good too if you are willing to be adventurous on what you stick in your body.

      • MB30SD

Fuck yes to both. Right downstairs from my office there’s a French shop. Sells foie… amongst other various and sundry… sundries

  • Bender McLugh

Dickerson – nope you ass. Cutler would have closed.

“Brian Hoyer does enough to keep QB job in Bears’ loss to Colts”

    • AlbertInTucson

      Remains to be seen.

      Massie STILL can’t protect.

      • Bender McLugh

Bench him (instead of cut), start head case instead

    • SC Dave

Cutler would never have had us in position to close.

      • willbest

Do you have a quantum machine to back up your assertion?

        • SC Dave

Same one you used to assert that Cutler would have closed.

You’re smarter than that. Assuming you’ve had a few too many of those single malts.

          • willbest

You can’t deny that if there are two things Cutler doesn’t have a problem with its
            1) Hitting his #1 WR
            2) 4QC

  • Sauron’s right eyeball

For those who saw the game, who do you think was the best and worst Bear player of the game on O and on D?

    • BerwynBomber

      Howard and Young.

But in fairness it’s virtually impossible for an O-lineman to earn that distinction, though it certainly would not have been Massie if anyone did.

      • Bender McLugh

        Agree

      • Sauron’s right eyeball

Who did you think flubbed the dub?

      • Bender McLugh

Callahan had a very good game, I don’t blame him for the 4th down TD, untimely zero pass rush

        • BerwynBomber

Yeah, Callahan is a fuck of a find. He’s rock solid every time I watch him. Even tackles well for his size.

          • SC Dave

Agreed. The more I watch him, the more I know he belongs as an NFL starter.

    • BearDown100393

      Offense: Best Howard Worse Massie
      Defense: Best Young Worse LeBlanc

      • willbest

seconded. And LeBlanc had a decent game last week. So I don’t know what happened there. Massie was just a waste of money.

    • SC Dave

      Hoyer/Massie
Callaghan/Trevathan (this was a tough call, so I’ll go for “most overpaid”)

  • BearDown100393

    Brian Hoyer
    vs Dallas Rating 93.7
    vs Detroit Rating 120.1
    vs Indy Rating 120

    Avg 108.5
    No interceptions

If Jay Cutler is usually not the largest problem of the team, neither Brian Hoyer should be accused.

    • Bender McLugh

Can’t disagree except for his oft propensity to fold in big moments

      • AlbertInTucson

Massie and Meredith did some big moment folding, too.

        • AlbertInTucson

Of course, Massie doesn’t need a “big moment” to fold.

      • MB30SD

Like someone said akready, we ain’t gonna have that problem for a while

      • SC Dave

        That’s a stupid comment.

    • Irish Sweetness

I lay a lot of it at Fangio’s refusal to play fucking hard football. Not having any offensive tackles doesn’t help on offense and I haven’t bought the Whitehair T-shirt yet. Shitforbrains Pace cut Jason Weaver too. He looked okay as a tackle in pre-season. That place that Howard and Meredith looked great, but apaprently their opposition makes people think that’s irrelevant.

  • AlbertInTucson

I submit that even if Jeffrey WAS open and Hoyer DOES hit him for a TD at that point, with what? A minute and a half left on the clock? It would have just set up the Bears to lose on another FG by Vinateri.

    32-20 instead of 29-23.

    • BearDown100393

Bears ST blocks the FG attempt…..

      • AlbertInTucson

        Fat freakin’ chance.

AND I bet Viniteri makes it a hat trick from 50+ for the day.

        • BearDown100393

Nope in my altered universe, Vinateri breaks both ankles attempting to recover that football and ends his career for good. Bears win.

          • AlbertInTucson

            “Altered” is right.

          • BearDown100393

And Unrein lands on the football to preserve the win!

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

    • SC Dave

I was worried we were going to score too fast, but Massie decided it wasn’t a good idea.

  • AlbertInTucson

I see the Chargers found still ANOTHER way to piss away a game in the 4th quarter.

    • Sauron’s right eyeball

Let’s not forget the Raiders are 4-1 in 1st place in their division.

Del Rio has made them turn the corner. Sigh….

        • AlbertInTucson

      • willbest

This. It was bad enough they went to Carrie Underwood, but this noise is painful.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Did I hear correctly?
Packers are down both starting corners and will employ 7 rookies on defense tonight?

I could use a big night out of ODB.

  • BearDown100393

    Pedo Stache vs Grimus
    A real battle of genius.

  • AlbertInTucson

Luck has been a turnover machine vs everybody else.

    Against our guys, zilch.

    • willbest

I feel like if you have 15.5 seconds in the pocket like he did on some plays there had to be a hold in there that didn’t get called. We are however running Rookies all over the secondary and neither Amos nor HQJ are ball hawks.

      • AlbertInTucson

He din’t have 15.5 vs. other teams.

    • SC Dave

It was weird. The pass rush was either a sack, or Luck had 10 seconds to throw. Hard to get picks that way.

  • SC Dave

Okay, just watched the game. My comments:

    1) Aikman – Buck still worst ever.

    2) Jordan Howard is the future – Pox got lucky as shit on that one. He may someday pass Forte for #2 on the Bears total yards list. And those idiots thought they were okay because of Langford and Carey.

    3) It is unreal how ill-disciplined the Bears are. ABSOLUTELY KILLED by penalties. This is on John Fox.

    4) Either Brian Hoyer does not like Alshon Jeffery, or has been instructed to not look his way. It’s getting silly all the throws to Royal.

    5) Despite #4, Hoyer appears a better option than Jay Cutler. All you Hoyer haters and Cutler strokers can just fuck off. How many 96 yard drives has Jay Cutler finished in his career? One? It’s Hoyer’s second full game.

    6) Danny Travathan comes back, and the middle is wide open on pass plays all day. Maybe that was because Floyd was out, but really?

    7) Aikeem Hicks fucking hits people. Me likely.

    8) Nice to see Willy Young show up.

    9) Irish will be ecstatic re: Meredith. I won’t blame him, as Cameron is a much better player than Bust White.

    10) Aikman and Buck really suck.

    • BerwynBomber

Young showed up against PHI. He has been our best D player in two of our five games thus far.

      • willbest

I still think Freeman was better against Philly. Guy was bringing it even after the game was unofficially over.

        • SC Dave

Freeman is hands down our best LB. It’s not even close. But it’s STILL good to see Willie get off on some QB somewhere. Lord knows the rest of the team cannot generate a pass rush.

Although Callaghan is on his way to becoming our best defender.

  • SC Dave

Was reading a little bit earlier in this thread, but I’m not going go back to put myself through a game thread. I take it the Hoyer-Haters / Cutler-Concubines are out calling for Brian’s head?

    • AlbertInTucson

Much “He was fine until the big moment” opinion.

      • SC Dave

The funny part is that with Jay, the “big moment” would very, very likely never have been there. The 96 yard drive was the anti-Cutler.

        • AlbertInTucson

My comment was Hoyer didnt fumble the ball late or get called for holding in the red zone or take other stupid penalties or miss the same field goal, twice.

          • SC Dave

            Exactly.

    • PaceBot 2000

      Gay

      • SC Dave

I would think you are, the way you defend him.

  • AlbertInTucson

Yo, Aaron! If you don’t want to get blocked then don’t pretend like you want ANY part of making a tackle.

    Bullshit call.

    • BerwynBomber

Although so was that holding call on Bachtieri that just wiped out a first down.

Btw, what’s with Collingsworth blowing the Cheese linemen? Happens every Sunday night telecast of a Cheese game.

      • SC Dave

Your best friend? The MUTE button. I recommend you not forsake such a faithful servant.

    • AlbertInTucson

And screw you, Ed Hochuli. Quit acting like Rodgers is your nephew.

  • AlbertInTucson

Giants not showing much discipline, either.

    • BearDown100393

Probably too creeped out playing for Pedo Stache.

  • BerwynBomber

Rodgers looks off yet again. The INT was actually on Nelson, but a couple of those deep balls were Cutty-like prayers. Second one could have easily been picked.

    • AlbertInTucson

I don’t know how “off” he looks but he DID just toss that bomb into double coverage. I’m sure he figured he’d get PI to bail him out.

Probably still upset that someone blocked him.

      • BerwynBomber

That’s what I mean: how often do you see Rodgers heave one into double coverage? Used to see that like once a year.

        • BearDown100393

          Erin doesn’t ccaaaaarrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeee.

  • BearDown100393

    Erin gets intercepted again.

    • AlbertInTucson

In Lambeau, to boot. C’mon, GMen, get in the damn game!

      • BerwynBomber

Yeah, can’t throw away a 2 INT Rodgers game at Lambeau. Problem is Eli looks off too and the G-Men have absolutely no pass rush.

  • BearDown100393

Yep, the military and football are synonymous because its profitable for the NFL.

  • TBC

If you guys are done with Hoyer, I’ll take him! 12 is a bum!!!

    • BerwynBomber

He looks it tonight. Don’t know if I’ve ever seen Rodgers looks worse. Or when he it has usually been against a stout D.

      • BearDown100393

        Thanksgiving 2015

        • BerwynBomber

I kinda recall Davante Adams looking worse that Rodgers that night, though the latter didn’t look great either.

          • BearDown100393

A drunk Favre in the booth just capped it.

    • SC Dave

Naw… about six more years of that half’s Erin.

  • BearDown100393

That was a laughable effort turned in by Erin.

    • BerwynBomber

      Three practice squad level passes.

  • BerwynBomber

Who knew that Rodgers/Manning would be a worse QBed game than Stanton/Gabbert?

Eli’s PR at halftime is 56. Rodgers 54.

  • BerwynBomber

Tirico is a very solid play-by-play guy, but SNF’s efforts to work him into these telecasts (before Michaels retires) seems awkward.

    • BearDown100393

Less awkward than the switch doing the intro.

      • BerwynBomber

        Missed it …

    • AlbertInTucson

Probably a prelude to bidding adieu to Michaels whenever HIS contract is up.

          Sex harrassment.

      • CanadaBear

        This year.

  • SC Dave

    From Larry the Shill:

“Hoyer, who was not sacked, wasn’t the only member of the offense who performed well in place of an injured starter. Replacing running back Jeremy Langford and receiver Kevin White, respectively, Howard rushed for 118 yards on 16 carries and caught three passes for 45 yards including the go-ahead touchdown, and Meredith had nine receptions for 130 yards and one TD.”

Hahaha… Hoyer is the only one of those three that *should* have been the backup.

    • MB30SD

      didn’t meredith have 2 fumbles?

  • AlbertInTucson

    Another useless stat.

    Hoyer wasn’t sacked once.

    Luck went down 5 times.

  • Bernie Cohen

The Bear’s red zone offense in terrible. Field goals are not desirable. Touchdowns are!

    • BearDown100393

    • Malice Halice

That holder ALSO shanked a punt earlier to set up a Raider scoring drive.

    • MB30SD

      jesus

  • BerwynBomber

Is Rodgers the worst QB currently starting for an NFCN team? Five weeks into the season one can make that claim.

    Weird …

  • AlbertInTucson

And ALSO, the Bears exploded the “London Hangover” concept.

    • BerwynBomber

Never bought that anyway. Maybe for teams that had to travel the next week — if schedules were ever arranged that way. But a group of grown, young, physically supreme men can’t get over six or seven hours of jet lag in a week?

Hell, the coast-to-coast travel two days before the game that happens every Sunday might be tougher.

      • AlbertInTucson

Teams usually get their bye after London, like the Jags did.

        • MB30SD

the colts supposedly turned it down???!!? First team ever.

It looked like a total head fucking scratching move. Why in thee fuck would a team turn that down after an Int’l game.

…Luckily for them… they played us.

          • BerwynBomber

My guess is you will begin seeing more teams do what the Colts did, especially if their next game is home. A little jet lag vs. a later bye week? My guess is teams will begin choosing the latter.

  • AlbertInTucson

Next week, the Bears can renew hope for Jags fans!

All 60 pr 70 of them.

  • AlbertInTucson

So, I missed out on a Consolation TD from Hopkins.

ODB’s TD just put me up by 6 this week with the MNF players still pending.

My opponent has Mike Evans active.

I have Carolina QB which, in this case, is Derek Anderson .

Matt Ryan, who I benched this morning out of respect for the Denver D, posted 4 only points.

If Anderson can put up just 1 TD pass and over 250 yards I can break even.

A couple TDs for Evans and I am likely toast.

  • BerwynBomber

“DaBearsBlog @dabearsblog Aaron Rodgers isn’t the same guy. Have people caught up with this offense? He used to be surgical.”

Agreed. He is not. Looks hesitant at times. And even his pinpoint accuracy is no longer the given it once was. But they also no longer have anyone who can stretch the field (Nelson is still an effective receiver but he is no longer blowing past people), nor is their an Alshon or BMarsh-like stud on their team who can just go get a jump ball.

In terms of their offense, meh … McCarthy has always been too cute for his own good. Some of those RB sets with Cobb or Montgomery as the lead back aren’t fooling anyone. At that point they’d be better off running their 3rd string RB.

Stuck in Lao so I didn’t catch the game. I did watch Meg Ryan pants the Panthers though. That’s an offense.

No ecstacy re Meredith or Howard. They’re just doing what they were doing in pre-season, and last year as well for Meredith too. No-balls Fangio is killing us. As is not having Muhammad Wilkerson on the line.

Still, not all clouds – at least we have a shot at Malik Zaire or the other guy. Or Myles Garrett. It’s all good.

Conor Barth, eh? Playing opposite the GOAT, too.

      Too. Many. Penalties.
