• Joecashflow

    Grossman. That says it all.

    • Trac

Look at his childlike hands in that picture. Smh.

      • MB30SD
        • Celloguy

Man I had the biggest crush on Elizabeth Hurley

          • CanadaBear

We all did! Except for Hugh Grant, who seems to prefer prostitutes!

          • Trac

I can’t stand that twat buts the women’s love him. Smh.

          • CanadaBear

The ladies love the accent and his perceived vulnerability. After getting caught with that hooker, I think the ladies love him a lot less. All the men are just puzzled.

          • Trac

I’m sad to say it doesn’t work like that Canana. They only slash and burn a dude for doing that if it’s their man that does that. Except Hillary of course. Ahhem, cough. Lol

          • CanadaBear

Pretty sure most women who have husbands that are athletes, musicians, entertainers, politicians, etc. know there is a ton of temptation and just ask not to be publicly embarrassed. Obviously, Grant, Clinton, Kobe, etc have all broken that deal. Kobe bought his wife a $4 mil don’t divorce me ring. Not sure what Clinton did for Hillary. Who knows? Like Jon Stewart said about Hillary, “That’s where boners go to die”.

          • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

uh, clinton promised to get her elected president.

          • Huge Bear’s Penis

thats more for him… he wants to get back to banging interns in the oval office. i hear the acoustics are pretty good in there and sound proof from the outside.

          • willbest

That usually happens when the slut realizes there is no benefit in being the unknown piece of ass

          • Trac

I’ve gotten less critical of Bill over the years with the over exposure I’ve had with Hillary over the years seeing she just won’t shut up and fade away in private. Poor guy.

          • Irish Sweetness

Had? I’d still leave that like a busted couch.

  • Trac

  • Doc Nitty

There once was a title game sighted
With a score just a tad lopsided
    One team took a knee
    And gave up 73
    Two teams are today reunited.

    • Trac

You know your history Doc. Well stated sir.

    • Johnnywad

And I thought you were just a pretty face with some math skills

  • CanadaBear

    The Sex Cannon!

  • willbest

    Bears win 24-17

  • CanadaBear

Not a fan of UFC/MMA but that shot Connor put on Aldo was textbook. Aldo was a 10 year champ and walks in with his guard down and chin out. Really?

    • MB30SD

connor mcgregor is also a bad baaaaaad man.

      • CanadaBear

No doubt but Aldo throws a wild right and leaves himself exposed like it’s his first time in the ring.

        • MB30SD

Yep. It’s a fight, any single shot can get it done

          • CanadaBear

Is UFC/MMA as crooked as boxing? I rarely see it so I have no idea. I still watch boxing and every now and then you see a decision that is so wrong you know the judges were paid off.

          • willbest

No. That is part of the reason for its growing popularity. That and the fact that the champion isn’t allowed to keep his spot by feasting on a string of inferior opponents.

          • CanadaBear

Although from an outsider it certainly looked like Rousey was fed a string of tomato cans and then got exposed by a real fighter.

          • willbest

If you didn’t follow the sport I could see how you might think that. She is a woman fighter and in the current state of things you can’t go 5 minutes without some feminist trying to talk about her. In truth she was only champion for 3 years. And most of her opponents had records like 6-1. She even defended her belt from the person she won it from.

It can be difficult to find women at that level that are good.

          • CanadaBear

It will be interesting to see how she does going forward.

          • MB30SD

The other chick beat the fuck out of her the whole fight.def wasn’t a lucky punch, she just looked so much more complete to me. Guess we’ll see what’s really what in the rematch

          • Irish Sweetness

Same result. Ronda can’t close that distance. She didn’t even throw a kick in the first fight. Miesha Tate gave her a run, but Ronda was exposed for what she is, a Judoka with an armbar. Good for her – she made millions from it.

          • Irish Sweetness

Paige Van Zant is terrible looking as a fighter but probably cleans up in commercials.

          • Irish Sweetness

Holm was the first all-round fighter she faced. Dana milked her for all she was worth then fed her the real deal. The bookies have Ronda as favorite for the rematch, looking for the sucker money. First round TKO for Holm. Again.

          • Irish Sweetness

If it goes to the judges or there’s a quick stoppage by the ref you could wonder.

But when Aldo was on the ground he was getting hammer fisted when he was out cold.

          • Trac

They don’t call it the sweet spot for nuttin.

      • willbest

He hits, kicks, and grapples people for a living, I suspect that goes with the territory.

        • MB30SD

Nope, he’s a man amongst men. Dude’s the real deal.

          • Irish Sweetness

Been screaming it, bud. He’ll fight the winner of Dos Anjos/Cerrone for the LW belt, then he’ll come back down and KO Frankie Edgar. Double belt holder for the second time. I’d love to see him go up to WW.

The best bit was that he got his own private presser.

          • MB30SD

yeah, he’s an animal. Sounds like he came from a really rough upbringing.

            Irish pride right? ; )

      • Trac

Ahhh the havoc I could have unleashed with a name like that when I was a young man.

        #mancrush

    • Doc Nitty

Was it a good fight? What round?

      • CanadaBear

13 seconds. Literally Aldo comes in with a wild right leaving himself completely exposed and MacGregor knew what to do. Left hook right on the button. Fight over. It’s on youtube.

        • Doc Nitty

          Wow.

        • willbest

That actually smacks more of fixing than anything Ronda has gone through.

          • CanadaBear

It looked like a legit shot right on the button. That’s a tough way to take a dive.

          • MB30SD

Come on will… plain and simply, dude caught one perfectly and got KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT.

            period.

          • Irish Sweetness

Fixing? He slipped around a punch and cold-cocked him on the KO button.
            Text book, as they say.

        • Scharfinator

Link? My google foo is weak.

    • Irish Sweetness

  • BearDown100393
  • Doc Nitty

I was talking with blogfather about lurkers who do not post recently. He said on a typical Friday game preview, the site gets 10-15k hits. There can’t be more than 100 posters. This tells me one of two things assuming many people read the comments as well.

    1. We’re fucking famous dudes!

    Or

    2. The word is out on Boobies-Friday.

Either way, those numbers are impressive.

    • Celloguy

Long time lurker here, just recently started posting. It’s the boobies.

      • Huge Bear’s Penis

        thanks for being honest

      • TomC

Also mainly a lurker. But come on, if I want b00bs, I can find high-quality ones many other places on this series of tubes. I actually find that buried in the Packer-bashing and conspiracy theories, there’s quality info & insight here, even (especially) in the comment threads.

(Redskins score in the background. Whatevs.)

  • CanadaBear

Inactives today. Antrel Rolle, Bryce Callahan, Antone Smith, Nick Becton, Cameron Meredith, Ziggy Hood and Pernell McPhee

    • willbest

And don’t forget that Wilson is on IR. Nice to have Royal back I guess, but can he do anything having been out 6 weeks

      • CanadaBear

His familiarity with Cutler has to help. Not expecting much but who knows? Pisser about McPhee not being out there. Players feed off his energy. Not the same when he’s not playing.

    • Irish Sweetness

Ziggy Hood. Forgot about Ziggy. Now if his name was Ansah ….

Games that affect Bears playoff chances
    1) Beating Redskins
    2) Carolina over Atlanta (gets us over Atlanta in tie-breaker)
    3) Bucs over New Orleans (helps with SoV tiebreaker against Minny)
    4) St. Louis over Detroit (helps with SoV tiebreaker against Minny)
    5) Packers over Dallas (helps with SoV tiebreaker against Minny)
    6) Baltimore over Seattle (slim chance we catch Seattle marginally improves)
    7) Miami over Giants (helps with SoV tiebreaker against Minny should the Vikings beat the Giants)

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

HAHAHAHA! just saw that Pickles is starting for Baltimore against Seattle.

    • BearDown100393

Rev up the old magic and chemistry with Trestman.

      • AlbertInTucson

        I benched Justin Tucker.

No reason to think Clausen puts up any more points this time around vs. Seattle.

        • Huge Bear’s Penis

thanks for the reminder. i just did the same in my league

    • TomC

How horribly unfair is it that Seattle gets to play Clausen twice in one season, when he’s not even in their division (with either team)?

      • willbest

What is even more horribly unfair as the #5 seed they get to play whatever the NFCE spits out so they are at least going to be headed into Arizona or Carolina with some momentum.

    • Scharfinator

      Two free wins for Seattle.

  • AlbertInTucson

So what was Cutler’s prep like this week?

    Study Redskins film.

Try to reacquaint timing with Eddie Royal.

Go home, comfort the grieving wife and help with funeral plans for the the brother-in-law.

    No possible distractions there.

    • willbest

I have a feeling its the defense that is going to win or lose this game. Cutler will put up 17-24 points with no more than 1 turnover.

    • BearDown100393

The week before it was have a kid and deal with a missing family member….

      • willbest

Having a kid is easier than dealing with it. His wife has to get up to feed her every 3 hours, can’t get back to sleep because of the brother. Wakes Jay up to talk…

        • BearDown100393

Maybe. Always easier to say “everything was just fine” after delivery instead of actually during it. And it gets harder when there are already other kids. It is handful.

      • AlbertInTucson

And he certainly looked off his game for 3 quarters.

    • Doc Nitty

That just means the field is his sanctuary today. Expect Cutty to shred them.

      • Irish Sweetness

        He’s playing???

  • The GP

    Any home field advantage?

    • Doc Nitty

Let’s see, the Skins are winless on the road and the Bears are 3 for their last 14 at Soldier. I’d call that a mutual disadvantage.

      • The GP

Bears switched the hotel in Chicago they stay in this year. I guess they wanted all the stench of Cryptkeeper off them.

        • willbest

Really they don’t just stay in their homes when they are in Chicago?

          • BearDown100393

      • Huge Bear’s Penis

the park district drew up a map for the Bears showing really shitty parts of the field versus the mostly shitty parts of the field.

    What the hell Fuller

  • willbest

What is with our deal with making below average QBs look like HoFers at home.

    • BearDown100393

They excel on a crappy field?

  • SC Dave

We like spotting an early lead this year.

  • willbest

Why the hell are the safeties 15 yards back on a 3rd and 3

  • BearDown100393

Apparently Bears defense likes to sleep on 3rd down.

  • Pissed Off

    Pathetic defense

  • willbest

And apparently that is why we don’t blitz

  • Pissed Off

Can’t beat the niners so why would we expect to compete at home no less against the skins

yay mr optimism is back this week

      • BearDown100393

        Pissed Off…

      • SC Dave

Yeah, just whatwe all need. That shit will drive us all off on game day.

      • Pissed Off

      • BearDown100393

  • SC Dave

Well, there is the lead we love to spot. Desire looking low today.

    • willbest

Fuller was playing too soft and then slipped. I don’t know what those safeties were doing on the 3rd and 3. And my lord you got 3 on 1 and you can’t get him to fall backwards

      • SC Dave

I wss referring more to not tackling that guy at the four or so on that pass play.

  • BearDown100393

That failed one hand swipe by Shea will make a nice Deadspin .gif

  • SC Dave

Wow…. why reverse that call? So they can fuck us over later and call it even?

    • willbest

Maybe they are going to pay us back from last week?

  • BearDown100393

        • Huge Bear’s Penis

true but his offense actually resembles something of a pro offense

          • BearDown100393

            It does?

          • Huge Bear’s Penis

Great example of how badly imbalanced they are.

      • SC Dave

Terrible throws should not result in huge gains

  • BearDown100393

It should be an unsportsmanlike penalty for any NFLer to wave his hand for a flag. Makes one look like a complete douche.

    • SC Dave

      Agreed.

  • Pissed Off

Soldier field is everyone but the bears house

    • BearDown100393

  • SC Dave

Fuller needs to sit down today. Now.

  • Shady

    emBEARassing

  • Celloguy

    Yeah, tough start for Fuller

    • Blackhawks63

Tough two seasons for Fuller. Extremely disappointing 1st round pick. If he can’t get better under Vic Fangio then that says something.

  • Blackhawks63

Lack of talent on defense. We need two DE, two ILB, a S and a CB.

    • Shady

And a partridge in a pear tree?

      • Blackhawks63

Yeah, something like that. So many needs.

    • T’Challa

And thats not mentioning the offensive side of the ball.

      • willbest

Only thing we are really missing there is a RG

  • SC Dave

At least the Panthers are on the adjacent TV for when I have to watch a football game.

  • T’Challa

An emphasis has to be placed on getting some stout DE this off season. Washington Redskins are playing better against us than some playoff teams have.

  • SC Dave

    Pnalties every play

  • Celloguy

Sheesh, let’s just get a positive play!

    • SC Dave

Hey, we got a first down!

  • Big Mike

Kyle Fuller sucks today. Is it 2014? Mclellin sucks. So discouraged. Show some heart.

    • Shady

Let’s take another look at the 2014 draft, shall we?

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_NFL_draft

12 New York Giants – Odell Beckham, Jr. (PRO BOWLER)
13 St. Louis Rams – Aaron Donald (PRO BOWLER)
14 Chicago Bears – Kyle Fuller
15 Pittsburgh Steelers – Ryan Shazier
16 Dallas Cowboys – Zack Martin (PRO BOWLER)
      17 Baltimore Ravens – C. J. Mosley (PRO BOWLER)

      • Big Mike

        Fuck emery

  • SC Dave

21-0 panthers. That is a fucking good team.

    • EnderWiggin

Falcons look like they are ready to start throwing punches.

      • SC Dave

Cam rubbing it in to be sure. He better watch for a charles martin impression

  • willbest

    Andy Dalton down? Oh shit

  • BearDown100393

  • Blackhawks63

Shaping up to be an ass kicking. Jeesh.

    • SC Dave

Td here and it would look much better

  • T’Challa

    Whew, it’s rough!

  • Scharfinator

    Train wreck.

    • SC Dave

      Lines being owned so far.

  • Big Mike

Same run play over and over

  • Celloguy

Gaining some rhythm on offense though

  • Celloguy

    Eddie Royal!!!

  • Scharfinator

There is an impressive Cutler play.

    • SC Dave

I take it you didnt mean the noodle throw to miller… more something lime that throw just there to alshon

      • Scharfinator

The ridiculous high snap catch then side arm to Royal on the screen. Should have been a fumble or at least a sack.

  • BearDown100393

    Jay’s getting pounded.

    • willbest

I thought the skins sucked at hitting the QB

      • T’Challa

They are looking great againgst us

  • Blackhawks63

Our offensive line needs two upgrades. I addition to the multitude of needs on defense.

    • BearDown100393

Apparently a new transmitter for the QB also.

  • Celloguy

Jeffrey doin some work on this drive

  • willbest

Cutler is playing lights out at the moment

  • Celloguy

    NOOOO

  • Blackhawks63

Somebody has to block or Cutler is going to get hurt bad.

    • BearDown100393

Blind spot. Never saw it coming. “Concussion Protocol” coming up.

  • Shady

    jebus

  • BearDown100393

    Jay’s getting killed.

  • SC Dave

    Wow. Game over ?

    • Johnnywad

      Got’em right where we want’em

      • Scharfinator

        lol Love it

  • DaMurph

I need to stop watching this game!

  • T’Challa

    Was the guy even blocked?

    • Blackhawks63

      No

      • T’Challa

        That had to hurt!

    • The GP

      dont think so

      • Big Mike

        Long whiffed

    • BearDown100393

      No.

    • Big Mike

      Kyle long just whiffed

      • T’Challa

        A swing and miss! 🙂

  • Celloguy

Yikes, very poor line play today.

  • Blackhawks63

Jimmy Clausen if Cutler is hurt. Hand or head? Jeesh

    • Scharfinator

      He got cut weeks ago…

      • DaMurph

Hes following his team closely! Hahaha!

    • BearDown100393

      He’s in Baltimore dude.

    • willbest

Clausen is currently indisposed against the Seahawks

      • Blackhawks63

Forgot about that. No more pickle.

    • beninnorcal

      He’s playing againsts the Seabirds

  • beninnorcal

    Fuck me.

  • SC Dave

    Wow.. a holding call?

  • BearDown100393

That screenshot said it all. Jay should be done today. He’s getting killed.

  • SC Dave

    D line looks terrible

    • T’Challa

Need a major upgrade this off season.

  • Blackhawks63

Cutler should not come back. Getting him killed serves no purpose.

    • willbest

      Nonsense. Its early

      • BearDown100393

I’d seriously consider it. He’s hand almost was mangled. He’s taking huge hits. Not worth it to get killed.

        • willbest

And if it were the 4th quarter, or if their season were over sure.

          • Blackhawks63

We are playing for the draft and we are playing to get young talent on this team experience. Don’t live in denial.

          • Scharfinator

Good luck telling the players that.

          • willbest

Dude we win this one and we are going to be right there.

  • willbest

Well if the Bears want to make the playoffs while losing a game, this is one to do it.

  • SC Dave

    Coverage sack. I’ll take it

  • T’Challa

    A 3rd done stop!

  • EnderWiggin

    Fly fishing today.

    • Blackhawks63

Yeah, got to love sack dances when our team is getting beat badly. Maybe Lamar can celebrate again too.

      • BearDown100393

        Bear Down!

      • willbest

His new sack dance doesn’t have him jumping anymore

  • SC Dave

    Huge stop there

  • The GP

Trest Way giving our punter a school lesson

  • willbest

Alright 7 minute drive. Beat your 3rd quarter yips and do it again. Get back in the game

  • SC Dave

Phone battery low, or off for a bit. Good news for ya’ll. Bear Down.

  • Celloguy

    That was a beautiful throw

  • BearDown100393

    Uncalled head shot at Miller.

    • EnderWiggin

Launching spear to the helmet… sad

    • T’Challa

      Should have been called!

  • Celloguy

    Ugh

  • willbest

Hold he wasn’t getting around his own guy

  • Shady

Bears have 7 guys in to block 4 and still can’t fukcing do it.

  • Celloguy

Jay is playing lights out, team is letting him down

    • EnderWiggin

      This decade?

    • BearDown100393

If Cutler does not get more protection, it will be his lights out.

  • willbest

    Lee… catch that shit

    • Big Mike

      Practice squad TE

      • Scharfinator

No idea why we traded for him. We’ve had pretty good personnel moves with Pace, but that one seems bone headed.

        • T’Challa

Giving up a 6th rounder for him is head scratching.

  • Blackhawks63

    Khari Lee ladies and gentlemen.

  • BearDown100393

Was Lee even paying attention? Knocked backward by a pass?

    • Scharfinator

      Hit him in the face

  • T’Challa

Lee is not use to those bullets from Jay!

    • Big Mike

      He’s a Practice squad player

      • willbest

He is apparently a 6th round draft pick player

      • BearDown100393

        And will be soon again.

    • BearDown100393

      Chiraq

  • willbest

    Bellamy… wtf

  • The GP

Look for the fucking ball Bellamy

    • Scharfinator

I mean.. he’s not a receiver, we can’t expect him to catch it.

      OH WAIT

    • Blackhawks63

So much talent on this roster. Facepalm

  • Pissed Off

Clausen tearing up the hawks also cue the circus music for all 3 phases of the bears

    • Huge Bear’s Penis

tearing it up? they scored 3 points so far.

      • Johnnywad

Shhhhhhhh. You’re wrecking his douche train.

        • Huge Bear’s Penis

if he wants a good definition of tearing it up, all he has to do is go ask his mom for a description of what i did to her last night.

          • Johnnywad

Boy. You really took one for the team last night.

          • Scharfinator

Well, how else would she experience a huge bear penis?

      • Pissed Off

Tounge in cheek but he did have consecutive completed passes at one point. Not too shabby

  • Johnnywad

Know how I know the Bears will win today? The sack/fumble didn’t turn into a touchdown. Book it.

    • Irish Sweetness

      Half-time talk … Jay-time?

      • Johnnywad

        Indeed

  • Irish Sweetness

We lead the league in holding?

    • Scharfinator

      WERE #1 WERE #1 WERE #1

      • Irish Sweetness

        It’s something.

  • Cubsnlinux

Looks like the 2014 Bears are back!

    • Doc Nitty

That’s what I was thinking. Little early for a Trestman throwback day.

  • Sactowns#1

Our utterly spineless coaching staff infuriates me. You just punted from the 45 and they have it at the 20. 25 yards vs a possible score. Makes no sense.

    • Blackhawks63

      Um, ok.

    • Irish Sweetness

Yup, blows my balls when I see a team punt it 20-25 yards. Take a shot. Fumblerooski. Whatever.

    • willbest

It was 4th and 17. If it were 4th and 3 then yeah

      • Blackhawks63

The idiots are out claiming Fox and staff suck. They have shocking little talent to work with right now, but that is incongruent with how the idiots think. No team goes for 4th and 17 either.

      • Irish Sweetness

Thought we were closer to a first than that. Punter should have that out at the 5 though. They need to scout rugby players, out-halves, who y’know, do that for living.

  • T’Challa

I’m not a fan of celebrating when we are down a couple of scores…. get a lead andthen celebrate Willie.

    • Blackhawks63

Willie is an asshat. You don’t celebrate when your team is getting its ass handed to it.

  • BearDown100393

Independence Day 2 trailer showing more life.

  • Celloguy

    The Revenant looked pretty sweet

    • Irish Sweetness

It ain’t over til that fat bitch sings.

      Bench Khari Lee.

Kick the OL up the ass … then let’s win this thing.

    • Johnnywad

      Looks intense

  • Shady

    How about calling a TO?

  • T’Challa

Calm down Lamar. Don’t go tearing an ACL.

    • Blackhawks63

      He’s a genius isn’t he.

    • BearDown100393

      Beardown!

  • EnderWiggin

    20 second return there…

  • BearDown100393

Not that it was warranted, but I was half-expecting a flag on that last sack against HOF Cousins….. Just because.

  • Sactowns#1

Gutless!!! This coaching staff is a spineless bunch of bitches. No timeout. No intention of scoring. Bitches.

    • Johnnywad

      Hahahaha

  • willbest

    This is how we role

  • BearDown100393

    Uh Kyle, what’s up guy?

  • BearDown100393

Other team around, and it is PI.

  • Celloguy

    That’s close

  • T’Challa

    That was close!

  • Shady

6 penalties for 75 yards int he 1st half.

  • willbest

    yeah

  • Celloguy

    That’s a hell of a catch

  • Shady

    Back in it baby.

  • Celloguy

    Back in it boys

  • T’Challa

    Nice throw and catch.

  • Scharfinator

    Really important drive there.

  • Doc Nitty

    Booyah!

  • willbest

Now they need to solve their 3rd quarter problem

    • Johnnywad

‘Bout to be solved. 14 all in a few minutes

  • Cubsnlinux

Someone should hypnotize Gase/Fox and tell them it’s 2 minutes every drive.

  • BearDown100393

Heck of a play by Alshon.

  • T’Challa

For a poor 1st half, to be down only 7 and getting the ball 1st in the 2nd half, we are in pretty good shape.

  • willbest

But we totally should have benched Cutler

    • Johnnywad

That would have been stupid. Because the Bears are winning this bitch.

  • T’Challa

This offense can score quick. Fox not using his timeouts until late worked out.

  • EnderWiggin

    Olsen hurt… Cam in tears.

    • Irish Sweetness

Ain’t no Terrell. “Das my quarterback…”

  • T’Challa

We are still in it. The difference between a competent coaching staff and whatever we had last year.

    • EnderWiggin

Last year we are down by 30 already.

  • Irish Sweetness

Brandon Marshall took a bubble screen 69 yrds for his 12th TD.

    • Scharfinator

So bittersweet to see him do well.

    • Shady

Because TEN wasn’t playing defense. DT #99 ran his fat ass about 40 yds to try and cover Marsh. No chance.

  • Shady

    Currently quarterbacking in the NFL:
    Johnny Manziel
    Blaine Gabbert
    AJ McCarron
    Jimmy Clausen
    Matt Hasselbeck
    Case Keenum
    Derek Anderson

    • Irish Sweetness

They brought Anderson on for one play and he threaded it it straight down the field to set them up for a TD. Awesome.

  • Shady

Doppler looking like it should start pouring any minute.

    • EnderWiggin

Hopefully it waits till after our drive.

  • SC Dave

Great little drive b4 half. Time for another.

  • willbest

When did Langford start wearing #22?

  • SC Dave

    Matt doing a Jeremy impression

  • Shady

Long having a brutal day. Kerrigan is eating Long’s lunch.

  • willbest

Cutler shouldn’t hold the ball that long

    • Shady

      That was literally 3 secs.

      • willbest

Yes but the line has been protecting him for an average of 1.3 seconds today

  • BearDown100393

Kyle must really be grieving over Cavallari’s brother.

  • SC Dave

Cutler could use some work on pocket presence. Step UP, not back.

But that drive on Matt for dropping the ball. Or at least for not getting a fucking first down

  • T’Challa

    Rough day for Long.

    • The GP

      getting owned

      • Irish Sweetness

Hmm. Back to RG, Tayo to RT?

    • Johnnywad

That one was on Cutty. Plenty of room up and right

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

bad play call. 3rd and 3 and no back in the back field, no chance for play action

    • SC Dave

There was plenty of room in the pocket

      • Huge Bear’s Penis

i understand, i just don’t like the formation in that situation

        • SC Dave

          Fair enough.

  • Irish Sweetness

Daddy can we go see the concussion movie for christmas ?

    • BearDown100393

Will Smith’s kid should have played football.

    • Shady

Every time a player’s bell gets rung an angel gets it’s wings.

      • BearDown100393

        A lawyer gets a call.

  • SC Dave

Who the fuck had that coverage?

    • Shady

      Anderson.

      • SC Dave

        Sigh

  • T’Challa

Dropping Goldman in coverage is not a good idea.

  • Doc Nitty

I just read thru the first half comments (for some reason) and I can safely say this. There’s a few of you with whom I’m thankful I’ll never go into fight. Why are you people even fans? it’s the same vibe I got from the fans in the stadium vs the cheese when the fellas and I went. Spineless wastes of fanhood.

    • EnderWiggin

A few of them gave up before we even touched the ball.

      • willbest

Just pissed off, and in fairness he gave up on this season 3 years ago when they hired Trestman

    • Irish Sweetness

Once the third quarter is over, Cutty can light them up!

    • SC Dave

They’ll be really mad when we win

      • BearDown100393

Win, lose, tie. Mad, mad, mad.

  • willbest

Alright, so this thing where you give the RB their second effort, but don’t penalize them when they fall backwards is nonsense.

  • BearDown100393

    Will Sutton broke down again.

  • Pissed Off

We should do some tackling drills

    • Johnnywad

      Brilliant

  • Jack Lacan

Bears will win — patience all — “We have the meats!”

    • BearDown100393

Protect Cutler. Cut down on the penalties. Don’t turn over the football. Yeah, I agree.

  • T’Challa

2 misses in a row Shea! Come on, man.

  • The GP

    Shae sucks

    • BearDown100393

      Maybe he can punt.

  • EnderWiggin

Chicken Dinner has been bounced 3 times today. Fully wrapped arms and the ball carrier just ignores him.

    • BearDown100393

      Rubber Chicken

    • SC Dave

Bears have missed tackles all day.

  • Irish Sweetness

    A-GAP BLITZ VIC !!!

  • Jack Lacan

    It’s warm Bear weather.

  • SC Dave

    Turnover time.

  • willbest

    Huh? Vegas!

  • Jack Lacan

Once again — “Nothing is over”….

  • SC Dave

    Wow… nice job, ‘ skins

  • Shady

    smh

  • BearDown100393

Can the Bears just auction #50 game issue for kids charity or something?

    • SC Dave

Looked like Anderson’s man all the way

      • BearDown100393

I guess. Just seems Shea has spent the game diving and whiffing. He probably could name every Redskin player on offense by the grass stains on their asses.

  • Scharfinator

Anytime you force an O into a passing situation less than 20 yards, you rush more than 3.

  • SC Dave

    Anderson again, i presume?

    • Scharfinator

Poor play call resulted in 3 rushing, no pressure.

  • T’Challa

I like Fangio, but Vic might need to reassess his evaluation of Sheamus McClellin.

    • BearDown100393

Something like Martz’s vouch of confidence for Caleb.

      • T’Challa

        Hahahahahaha

  • The GP

Are we trending upward? Isn’t that what everyone says?

This does not feel like trending upwards….

    • willbest

Back to back shit performance at home. Apparently, the defense doesn’t like it when the crowd cheers for them.

    • Trac

Psst…the games 60 mins long. Patience brother, patience. (He crosses his fingers).

  • BearDown100393

“Play 60” on the field – self serving computer graphic or a coaching reminder painted on the field?

  • T’Challa

Langford now doing a Forte impression.

    • willbest

No.. Running up the middle for 8 is not a forte impression

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

    getting close to Unrein time.

    • Huge Bear’s Penis

      or Miller Time

  • willbest

    Millertime!

  • Shady

    It’s Miller Time!

  • BearDown100393

    TD in the 3rd quarter.

  • T’Challa

It must be in Langford’s contract to miss a pass every game.

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

    WOOHOO!!! a 3rd quarter TD

    • Shady

1st of the season? cray cray

      • willbest

        See we are improving!

  • Irish Sweetness

Matty had a Sweet block on that …

  • T’Challa

If Miller could stay healthy, he is a very solid player.

  • Scharfinator

The biggest change this year – especially visible in this game, is we don’t quit.

    • willbest

Cutler isn’t anyway. Lets see if the D can stop them.

      • Scharfinator

Oh we’re still incompetent, but nobody is quitting.

  • willbest

    That’ll do pig. That’ll do

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

    Fuller got his head around

  • T’Challa

    Hello Kyle Fuller!

  • Irish Sweetness

    It’s on.

    Cutty time.

  • Shady

    Full House.

  • T’Challa

    Yes sir, Matt. Yes sir.

  • Shady

    TD!!!!

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

2 TDs in a 3rd quarter holy fuck sticks!

  • Trac

    BOOM!!!

  • willbest

Wait 2 TDs in the 3rd, who replaced the Bears?

  • T’Challa

    Resign him now!

  • Irish Sweetness

Skins just can’t win on the road. Sweet.

    • Pissed Off

And we can’t win at home something’s gotta give

  • Shady

    Oh it’s own meow.

  • Pissed Off

Yeah let’s keep forte on the bench

    • Scharfinator

C’mon you can mope harder than that. I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT! UNLEASH YOUR INNER EEYORE

      • Pissed Off

Forte is the only guy who gets me excited for some reason

        • Scharfinator

          That is hot.

  • Scharfinator

    Momentum has swung?

  • Bender McLugh

Miller on the block. TE1 2016

    • Scharfinator

      Bennett GONE.

    • Pissed Off

If he keeps it up you can’t argue with it. Plus I assume he’s much cheaper at this point

  • The GP

Here’s what I like about Fox Gase:

Long is getting owned on pass protection. So let’s give Kerrigan something to think about: let Long run block him for 5-8 plays and take the aggression to him. That WORKS

    • Shady

Long is getting fired up on the sidelines, it appears.

  • Shady

    Cmaaahn D.

  • Celloguy

    Big stop here boys

  • willbest

    Willie!

  • Celloguy

    Plus holding

  • Celloguy

    Huh?

  • Shady

    Put your 4s up!

  • Celloguy

That was clearly a good, and a damn good play

  • Celloguy

    Block it

  • BearDown100393

    Matty iced.

  • willbest

    Go for it!

  • BearDown100393

Is that Head Shot down now?

  • Celloguy

That was a quick 3 and out. Just when the crowd was getting back in it

  • willbest

Well Jeff, today the Offense looks a lot like Cutler making plays out of horseshit combined with some stellar runs.

  • BearDown100393

The Pickle doing nothing as expected for Baltimore.

  • Shady

Just gotta keep em out of the end zone.

  • Sactowns#1

Does fox know he has a challenge flag?

    • Cubsnlinux

Where he should have used it?

      • Johnnywad

Jackson was regripping the ball as he went OB

        • Scharfinator

Definitely warranted one, I thought. The Chicago booth told him not to though.

  • Celloguy

    Getting killed over the middle

  • Cubsnlinux

Difference is the skins WRs are making all tough catches and the Bears are not.

  • T’Challa

    Where is Callahan?

    • Huge Bear’s Penis

      injured did not dress

      • T’Challa

That sucks! Hurst is better in the slot than McManis.

  • willbest

    Stop them here please.

    • Cubsnlinux

      Prayers answered

  • Cubsnlinux

Lot of easy soft empty areas for the skins offense

  • willbest

woah when did the Jags decide to get serious

  • Celloguy

That was a big stop there, take control

  • Sactowns#1

A fair catch inside the 10. Smart. Smh

    • Cubsnlinux

      0 chance to advance

      • Scharfinator

Yeah, I’m afraid Gase (or Fox, who knows) will go with 3 straight runs then punt away.

  • willbest

Alright a 7 minute drive ending in a TD, is my next request.

  • Celloguy

    Cool slo-mo shot of Long

  • Cubsnlinux

Predictable runs up the gut on first downs

  • Pissed Off

    Let’s run again

  • Celloguy

    That was fucking awesome

    • SC Dave

      Miller!! Mariani!! M&M, baby!

  • Celloguy

    TWO monster plays! Get it!

    • SC Dave

And a flatbout miss… yin and yang

  • Scharfinator

Slow start, but Jay has warmed up quite well.

    Edit: Knock on wood.

  • Irish Sweetness

    No FGs please.

  • T’Challa

    They read that.

  • Shady

Don’t like that call if you’re not going for it on 4th.

  • Cubsnlinux

Horrible play call on 3rd and 10.

    • Johnnywad

That was Cutler. He changed the play. Wonder if if they’re starting to bait the Bears into that play with that defensive look.

    • willbest

The horrible call was on second down.

  • willbest

Why is that play still in the book?

    • Cubsnlinux

Gase has been either predictable or stupid. More often both.

    • Shady

Worked like a charm in GB.

  • Scharfinator

Jay’s mannerisms with screens are too obvious. Remove it as an audible until he gets a poker face

  • SC Dave

Why did he throw that to Alshon? There HAD to be a better choice. Like run or something.

  • SC Dave

Atlanta trying to ruin the shutout. I hope they fail

  • SC Dave

    Cousins over Cutler. So far.

    • beninnorcal

I’d say the Reed and Jones are the Skins best players right now.

      • SC Dave

Here we go on 3 rd again… will sousins do it again?

        • SC Dave

Yup. Unreal… better lucky than good

  • Pissed Off

Is that Barry Sanders out there for the skins

  • T’Challa

Have our LBs made a tackle for loss all year?

  • SC Dave

What an aggravating team. Making me stay to watch this, and…

  • Shady

    ………………….

  • Celloguy

    What.

  • willbest

    What the fuck

  • Pissed Off

    Pay attention

  • Shady

    you gotta be KIDDING me

  • Pissed Off

    Thses players are dumb

  • Cubsnlinux

    Bears lose.

  • Irish Sweetness

They literally tried to give us the game.

  • Cubsnlinux

Stupid play calling on offense and now forced to take timeouts.

  • SC Dave

    FUMBLE!!!!

  • Celloguy

Plenty of time. Get a stop here, match down the field

  • Celloguy

    Boom, is in our hands

  • willbest

    Alright Cutler. Its on you.

  • Pissed Off

    Cuttys got this right?

    • willbest

No we benched him earlier. Its Fales time.

  • Cubsnlinux

Alright bad punt gives good field position, relatively speaking. 4 down territory.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Cousins has 300 yards.

I am not a fan of Vic Fangio. I am not a fan of Mr. Gase.

    • willbest

That is uncharacteristic. We are holding opposing QBs to like 210

    • Cubsnlinux

Ah, did you look at our defensive studs?

      • SC Dave

Coming in Cousins LED THE NFL in completion %

  • Cubsnlinux

    False start on center, WTF.

  • Celloguy

    Holy fuck!

  • Cubsnlinux

    Wow wow wow

  • Shady

    money

  • SC Dave

    Woot!!

  • Celloguy

Excellent read by alson to keep going

    • SC Dave

Amazing how these guys can turn around like that too

      • Celloguy

        Teach Fuller to do that

        • willbest

blow coverage? Pretty sure he knows how to do that

  • Irish Sweetness

    CUTTY TIME!!

  • Doc Nitty

Should’ve taken a shot there before the 2 minute warning. A run up the middle there was too predictable.

  • Shady

    breathe…breathe…

  • Celloguy

    Ok Robbie

  • willbest

    Oh noes

  • Celloguy

    And begin holding breath now

  • Irish Sweetness

    Good luck Rob.

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

    CUT HIM!!!!

  • Scharfinator

    Time for redemption

  • Shady

    smfh

  • Pissed Off

    Didn’t see that coming

  • Cubsnlinux

God damn Robbie Gould. Lost two games for the Bears.

  • Scharfinator

    womp womp

  • Irish Sweetness

    Three games he’s cost us.

Add that up come playoff time. Fuck me.

  • BearDown100393

    Finkled.

  • Cubsnlinux

    Gould is shit.

    • Cubsnlinux

      Last few games…

  • Irish Sweetness

    Cut. Him. Now.

      Horse shit

      • BearDown100393

    What.
    The.
    Fuck,
    Robbie?!?!?!?

  • Celloguy

Man, that is a sinking feeling.

    • Pissed Off

After last week this was far easier to swallow

  • Shady

Kinda feel bad for him… I mean, that’s fucking brutal.

    • Jack Lacan

I agree with you very much — at his presser — he man’s up to execution — no excuses — rain — wind, etc.
I agree with Cutty – they are “right there”…just come up short…Even Roger Federer can hit ’em long and wide…
      Good call by you…Thanks

  • Pissed Off

That 2nd down play didn’t help either

  • SC Dave

    Timeto retire my jersey… *sniff*

  • DaMurph

    Oh man Robbie, WTF

  • Shady

    booooooooo-urns

  • Cubsnlinux

    Down right horrible.

  • Celloguy

Well, you can’t say it wasn’t entertaining at least

  • The GP

    Foreskins on the road

  • Irish Sweetness

And then Fangio couldn’t even stop them when he knew what they’d do …

  • Cubsnlinux

    Disgusting

  • SC Dave

Wow, and then let the runner go thru four guys on 3rd and seven to be sure you lose

  • Trac

Entertaining game. Are you not entertained?!!!

    • Irish Sweetness

Oh if I’m a Skins fan I’m loving it.

      • Pissed Off

Skins arrow is pointing more upward than ours

  • Irish Sweetness

First win for the Redskins on the road. We have one victory at home? 2? Fangio and Gase – the results are in. You suck.

    • Shady

      Stop being an idiot.

    • DaMurph

Just want those instant results huh Irish?

      • Irish Sweetness

Playoffs would not be kind to us, so perhaps it was best. But the offense only motors when it’s in Cutty’s hands, and the defensive scheme isn’t working.

    • Cubsnlinux

I have no beef with Fangio. Gase on the other hand, I have no clue what the heck is he up to.

    • Pissed Off

      Survey says….

  • willbest

This wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t do it last week. Cause this was at least 50 yards in the rain.

  • Cubsnlinux

This team and the play calling is shit. I am not fooled by the final score. Bears have been dog crap for 95% of the time.

  • Doc Nitty

Maybe Robbie is a subscriber to the Tank-For-Draft Picks theory?

    • Irish Sweetness

The GM would only have to pay one guy. Fire the long snapper just to make certain!

      Nicely spotted Doc.

    • BearDown100393

Was he offered a job next season to inflate footballs or something?

    • Jack Lacan

Has anyone said anything to Robbie? Just asking — is he lonely?

      • BearDown100393

Redskins are taking him out for dinner at Ditka’s tonight.

  • wreckinball

Robbie is gone Jay should have driven for TD
    Out played by Cousins

    • madscout12

Jay threw for more yards, more tds and no ints. What’s your logic here?

      • Irish Sweetness

We make Journeymen look like Joe Montana.

      • wreckinball

        Anti clutch
        Needed a TD
Just doesn’t come up with the play

        • madscout12

Right. You know there are 11 guys on the field, right?

          • wreckinball

Yes and I know there are about a dozen QBs in the league that would have made it happen
Yes Jay is not bottom 10 like last year
            But he’s not to 10

          • madscout12

            Name them.

          • madscout12

            Crickets.

          • wreckinball

            He’s 19 th in QBR
            Wow HOF
            I mean really

          • madscout12

Stop putting words in my mouth, morin. Where did I claim HOF?

          • wreckinball

you didn’t he’s bottom half you can disagree fine.
He’s better than last year where he was damn near worst
But the fact is he’s part of the problem not the solution
Nothing we can do about he’s here next year because of possibly the worst contract in recent history

          • wreckinball

            Brady Rodgers PManning Palmer
            Big Ben Newton Brees

          • Johnnywad

            Manning? Wow

          • Huge Bear’s Penis

you only listed 7. and one of those is injured and could do shit when he was playing this year.

          • madscout12

            7 =/= 12.

Also, have you seen Manning this year? How bout Brady with our line? Brees this year? It isn’t 2009.

          • BearDown100393

At least name active quarterbacks. Manning is injured. You have named only 6.

        • Irish Sweetness

Dude. Jay Cutler doesn’t come up with a play? He pulls them out of his ass at the end of every game – have you been watching?

    • willbest

Our O-line was outplayed by their O-line.

    • kurt6009

Cutler 117 rating, 2 TD, 315 yds, 10.2 yd avg
Cousins 104.2 rating, 1 TD and 1 int, 300 yds, 9.7 yd avg.

Adam Gase and Vic Fangio (rushing only 3 when Cousins got his TD pass) are the player callers.

Wreckinball… dumbest man in the the room…until Jackass (getagripjackass) or his racist friend show up, then it’s a free for all between the three of you.

      • wreckinball

        Oh yeah your a genius
WTF are you talking about you fucking moron

        • madscout12

          Just to recap…Morin. Morin.

        • kurt6009

Read what you said about Cutler and Cousins.

Read my response, then take both to your English teacher tomorrow.

Or is your high school on are you on Christians vacation.

          • wreckinball

Nah sorry dumbest are those that somehow think Jay playing average puts him in with the elites
            Kurt that seems Iike you
He’s not God awful like last year
            He’s not Jimmy Clausen
But there is no team in the league that would take him and his contract next year
            ZERO

            That says something

          • kurt6009

But there is no team in the league that would take him and his contract next year ZERO. Your opinion (your wrong, by the way)
That says something (except it’s not a fact, just your false OPINION!)

No, many teams would take him. Your stupidity is mind boggling.

            Hey, 85 I.Q., GIVE..HIM…A…TEAM.

Rogers, Brady, Manning, etc…aint so ELITE when their team is garbage around them.

Hey wreckinballgirl, study, investigate, research. Quit being a mindless, media drone groupie, that can only parrot what the talking heads spew out.

Man, you liberal Gruberites never fail to show your stupidity on every level.

          • wreckinball

            Wreckinball girl ?
            Seriously dude grow up
I think Jay is middle of the road .
If that gets your panties twisted so be it

          • kurt6009

“I think Jay is middle of the road”

No, in fact you don’t THINK.

You’re a sheep, a middle of the roader, a followerer. You Bahhhh as you follow the media like a sheep led to the slaughter. You just parrot the mindless blather that local and national media outlets spew.

Let’s not lose sight of what you said. Nothing about Cutler being average, that’s just cover because of I’ve called you out for your myopic, like speak dribble.

            You said Cousins outplayed Cutler.

            You…were…wrong.

See, because you’re not a deep thinker, rather a parrot that doesn’t have an original thought, you fail to see that most of the Bears problems can be attributed to a dearth of talent, a defense in the middle of a rebuild, a kicker that’s failed 3 times this year, and an offensive line that still allows too many unobstructed paths to the QB.

No, you’d rather blame Cutler who is way low on the problem, or priority list. See, blaming Cutler who just put up a 117 QB rating, or the Cutler last week who lined up (I need more money to put food in my family’s mouth) Gould for a chip shot FG is easier…coz that’s what everyone else is doing.

Like I said, that takes a followerer, not a deep thinker. Too your credit, being a followerer is undoubtedly in your wheel house.

            Deep thinking, not so much.

          • southsidechicago

angry, bitter little boy. microscopic i bet, but your wife, and your mommy, already saw how small you are. 2 inches i bet. lol.

  • Jack Lacan

Well, eyebrows Rivers, looked horrible on the last play of that game.

  • Jack Lacan

On Red Zone – on can drink for each game that you want to look at – and then rest – repeat.

  • Trac

On the missed field goal, I knew it was lights out for us. Weather conditions and field position were against us. Maybe 5 kickers in the league make that kick, no?

    • Huge Bear’s Penis

did not look like much wind, cut him

      • Trac

        Footing?

        • Huge Bear’s Penis

footing is always crappy he should be used to it. cut him.

        • DaMurph

          YIPS!!!!!!

    • Scharfinator

Yeah, our issue is that we still have the expectation that Gould is in that top 5. He used to be, so we think he still is. Maybe he is more middle ground now and that is how we should look at it.

      • Irish Sweetness

And people need to stop referring to him in the media as the Bears most accurate kicker ever. He’s missed six FGs this season, and now is all counts.

    • willbest

As I said. It hurts a lot more because of last week. And also the MN game. If he had made those, then this would have been a “yeah he missed a hard kick, D shouldn’t have given up 24 points at home with all their missed tackles, and busted coverage, etc.

    • Big Mike

No. He pushed it right, because he’s missed left so much. Distance was there. He’s just all f’d up.

Here’s my thought. Just like we had to have emery and tresticle to get get to Gase and Fox, we have to lose these kinds of games to draft in the top 10. With 9 picks and 60-70-million under the cap, Bears losing close games is the best outcome. Means we are closed and the team has heart. Some of the guys playing are putting up a great fight. But they are the JV Some guy name Lee at TE? Prosinski and Mariani making some plays. But they are the JV. Anderson? Jones? Shit Mcmanis was even on the field long enough to fuck up again this week.

    • Irish Sweetness

Pulled his 5 previosu missed FGs left. That went right. Overcompensation – in his head he cannot kick it straight.

  • Trac

Hey guys, what’s with all the trash talk at the end of the games. By now every bear fan should know what the situation is this year. For the first time in many years, “wait till next year” is actually gonna mean something next season. I feel good about this season so far.

    • willbest

Not if we play the close game rather than busting one open.

    • madscout12

Word. This year’s draft was money. More talent = more wins.

    • beninnorcal

I agree, Trac. I’m not hurting too bad over this one.

      • willbest

I am. The only outside help we needed was for GB to beat MN in GB.

        • Johnnywad

And the Bears to beat the Lions, Bucs and Vikings.

        • Trac

          Hahaha. I understand.

  • Big Mike

Bears playing close is the best outcome at this point. Too many JV players out there. White, Mcphee, Rolle, Callahan, were missed.

    • beninnorcal

I’m ok with the loss. This year is a wash, but this team still looks vastly different from last year’s.

      • Bender McLugh

        Preeeeeeecisely

  • Blackhawks63

The Bears lack talent all over the place. We need two defensive ends, two inside linebackers, 1 safety, 1 cornerback, 2 offensive lineman, 1 kicker and special team help. And a developmental QB.

    • madscout12

There is competence at a few of those positions. With better talent around, some players could elevate their game.

      • Blackhawks63

Half of our defense is compromised of guys who would be hard pressed to have employment in the NFL otherwise. Let’s be painfully obvious what the issues are.

        • willbest

Sure but how many of the Texans players look competent because JJ Watt is there beating double teams?

        • madscout12

There are some injuries. And good coaches find guys and make them successful. We are a few pieces short of being very competitive

    • Irish Sweetness

      What is David Fales?

Another two years for the rest of that.

  • Doc Nitty

I’ll be okay with loss come Monday…maybe Tuesday, but for now I reserve the right to be pissed off. Soooooo tired of losing games we should win. Big picture be damned.

    • Pissed Off

Do you remember how we felt going into 2014? Very confident. Right now far worse than that.

      • willbest

Well in 2013 there were 6-7 plays where we could have said if just one of those went our way we would have been in the playoffs. Right now we would need 6 more plays to have gone our way.

        • Pissed Off

At the end of the day we finished 8 and 8 I think with an offense like we hadn’t seen in a long time scoring a lot. We thought fixing the d was easy since we had dominated for so long. Now i doubt we are finishing 8 and 8 and there are questions on both sides of the ball and all 3 phases. All that mindset would change if those 6 or 7 plays go our way but right now it is what it is.

    • Bender McLugh

Remember when we were going to tune out

  • beninnorcal

I’m gonna turn on the score to hear some angry yelling. Never the same anymore without Buffone tho.

  • BearDown100393

This team is not mediocre. Mediocre is .500.

    • Trac

Hey if this is what we get next year then all bets are off. If that happens I’ll go to fist city complaining about this team.

    • Blackhawks63

This team is bad because the talent level is not good enough. The coaching staff we have is excellent, but nobody can weave good results out of subpar talent over the course of a grueling 16 game season. It catches up to you. Ryan Pace has a ton of work ahead the next couple of offseasons. He got off to a good start last offseason but there is so much work needed to be done to improve the talent.

      • BearDown100393

Talent will be improved next season. Probably 8-8 next season. And then a winning season and wild card the next.

      • Irish Sweetness

We’re not bad. We should have two more wins with basic placekicking.

  • CanadaBear

To quote MB’s fave, “We Suck!” I don’t care which ILB was on the field for the Bears, they all were underwhelming. Really frustrating to see the same thing work over and over. Anytime things got iffy for them, throw it to Reid. Fuck! Cutler missed a bunch of throws and his receivers didn’t help out much at times (yeah, I’m looking at you Matt). The OL was out played and Kyle got spanked today. And of course Robbie at the end. The cherry on top of another ugly game.

    • Bender McLugh

It was all about the DL-OL. Bears were owned most of the game

    • Pissed Off

If by Matt you mean forte He dropped 1 pass. When’s the last time you remeber him even dropping one before that? Can’t say the same for Langford who drops multiples seemingly every game and at crucial times. Next year you will have your wish with Langford but the dude needs to get a jugs machine This offseason

      • CanadaBear

You have no idea. I’m one of Forte’s biggest fans. Hold him to a much higher standard.

      • Irish Sweetness

Matty was okay yesterday. His blocking has come on a shed load since he started.

  • willbest

I guess White is headed to IR Tuesday.

Why this season isn’t giving me hope. They have only put 1 complete game together. They are competitors and its great they aren’t going to quit, but there are just too many talent holes to fill in 1 off-season. They can over pay for some above average players in FA, but they don’t have 1 pro-bowler on that defense. They are going to need to draft the next Kuchley or Earl Thomas if we are going to have a chance against Rodgers-Nelson. They are going to be mediocre until they get their playmakers on that side of the ball.

    • Why this season gives me hope. They have only put one complete game together, but they’ve still managed to be in every single game that Jay has played. Their defense is starting six of my cousins, yet they’re somehow able to keep opposing offenses from running the Tucker Train on us.

Their offense is pretty well set going into next season, which means Gaze can focus his FA and draft on defense. Get young. Get fast. Get hungry. Get the God damned quarterback.

      Bear Down 2016.

    • CanadaBear

If Pace is as good as we hope he is, he will need to hit on at least 2 draft picks that are impact players, along with a couple other good picks, sign a bunch of good FA’s and hope like hell White comes back and is the real deal. That’s a lot to ask but all you can say is fucking Angelo and Emery!

      • AlbertInTucson

Report this morning said Detroit is hot for Gase to replace Jim “I Didn’t Think It Would Be Hail Mary Play” Caldwell and Gase would be interested since he got his start in Motown.

        • CanadaBear

it will be interesting to see if he leaves. if he does leave it will be interesting to see if Cutler reverts to being a TO machine.

    • Bender McLugh

      Come on Wrekin…..no hope? Please…..

    • Irish Sweetness

I like the offense when Cutty is in control, not Gase. When we need to go downfield, he gets it done. A couple better receivers, fix the right side of the line. We look good.

  • wreckinball

    He just missed it
Even good kickers go through the yips
Similar to putting in golf I think

    • Irish Sweetness

Bernhard Langer had a nightmare for an extended period. He was one of may favorite golfers growing up. I’d follow him around at the Irish Open. I couldn’t understand it. He totally forgot how to put. Looking back, he was thinking about it too much. Changed his putter, his grip. He got his mojo back, but it was a long time. Like Padraig Harrington too. Wins back to back British Opens … then changes his swing!

  • Celloguy

This year has been about progress, and I see it. We were talking about going to the playoffs last week, who would have thought we’d be talking about playoff scenarios at the beginning of the year?! That doesn’t excuse poor play, and worse play calling, but hey, at least I’m watching the games to the end! That’s more than I can say about many games last year. Silver lining fellas

    • wreckinball

Kinda of blew the last two which sucks
Then again we have received some gifts
Biggest thing this year is the D not being Jeffersonian
That has kept us in every game except Cardinals

    • CanadaBear

It seemed like the D had an epiphany against the Fudge and it got my hopes up. Unfortunately they reverted to form. Oh well. I see progress but smaller steps than I thought a couple of weeks ago.

      • Celloguy

But weren’t we all riding high last week?? We know what we have. Want it fun to think about how the bears could make the playoffs?? I’m certainly enjoying it more this year, as long as my expectations are tempered

        • CanadaBear

Oh yeah. All I said at the bar when Robbie missed it was “fucking Bears”, paid the tab and left. No hair pulling or tantrums.

  • Bender McLugh

Several people around me noticed the hold on the kick – Pay had his entire hand on the end of the ball. Shouldn’t matter, offense should have scored twice in the 4th.

    • Bender McLugh

      Pat, not pay

    • wreckinball

Yea me too seemed like he really cupped the top of the ball

      • Celloguy

My wife sometimes cups the top of my balls and I still get it done

        • wreckinball

          There you go
Just seemed s little heavy handed

          • Bender McLugh

            Rimshot

          • BearDown100393

            Too much information.

  • BearDown100393

Just curious. Who here truly believed Gould was going to make that field goal? Yes or No. I’ll start.

    • BearDown100393

      No.

    • wreckinball

      No

    • Celloguy

I actually thought he would. Really disappointing.

    • Bender McLugh

YES. And I was genuinely shocked that he missed.

      • AlbertInTucson

        “Shocked”? After last week?

        • Bender McLugh

Yes. Because he had never been this consistently bad.

    • Pissed Off

      No

      • MB30SD

        Shocking

    • AlbertInTucson

      I expected a miss.

I also expected that even if he MADE it, with a minute and 30+ to go, Washington would have moved into FG range and kicked a winner as time expired.

I think the Bears thought the same thing and that’s why they went deep on 3rd down rather than throw underneath and try and at least pick up a few more yards.

  • Bender McLugh

    *hic*

  • wreckinball

Robbie has been one of the best but kickers can’t have a bad streak
Too many good ones that are unemployed

    • Joecashflow

      Good. Let’s find one.

      • wreckinball

Well Steelers started out with Josh Scobee bust changed to some dude Boswell money

  • CanadaBear

Elway fired Fox because he thought there was no urgency to the team when they came out flat in the SB. he thought it was a problem for a while. It seems to be a recurring theme recently.

    • Johnnywad

That sounds a bit off to me. If the players aren’t fired up to play in the Super Bowl, that isn’t on Fox.

Given that they’ve been in dogfights in every game except Clausen Seattle, and the beat the Packers at Lambeau, lost a squeaker to the Broncos and Vikings, and are doing it with a very weak roster, I’m giving Fox very high marks at this point. This team is far closer to being a winner than it was a year ago.

      • CanadaBear

I’m not saying I dislike Fox, I’m just bringing up a point of fact. The Bears have come out flat in a bunch of games this year. Seems odd.

      • willbest

I think the awfulness of last year generated a lot of good will this year simply to not being an embarrassment.

        • Johnnywad

Their competitiveness is refreshing. It’s remarkable when you consider who’s playing defense.

      • chitownproud85

Yeap. Seems like everyone is forgetting that at this time last year, they were losing by 30, not by 3. This team has made serious/obvious progress and they were destined to be terrible from the get-go. THERE IS A TALENT DEFICIENCY – PERIOD. I’m sorry, but the difference between 23-20 and 45-20 is coaching. The roster isnt that damn different, and it sure as hell isnt BETTER.

    • Trac

Classic power struggle woes got Fox fired Canada. Elway threw a hissy fit because Fox didn’t roll over and play dead for him and when the Broncos got blown out in the superbowl Elway jumped at the chance to fire Fox.

      • CanadaBear

Not much of a power struggle when one of them is the boss.

        • Trac

Not true, Fox got to decide on where the money got spent, Elway couldn’t stand that fact. I remember reading there was I big brew haha about it.

      • Anonymous

Fox got fired a year after the SB blowout. Hard to know what happened out there, but hard to believe that Manning didn’t approve of the pink slip.

    • FantuzPhysics

I thought Fox wanted to quit because he didn’t like Peyton being the de facto OC?

    • AlbertInTucson

Most of these Bears are playing for jobs next year.

That should be all the motivation a player needs.

  • wreckinball

The reason the Bears are competitive is Fox. He’s a good coach with bad talent. Bears were odds on favorite for the first round pick.
Holy crap Fox is not problem he’s the solution

  • willbest

The offense doesn’t scare anybody, does White change that for next year? Who knows. The first time Special Teams puts in a positive performance will be its first. The Defense is coached like hell, but just doesn’t have the skill.
Here is what we know about Pace. He is very good at singles, doubles, and triples. He doesn’t have a home rune yet. Now, its his first year so you aren’t to concerned with that, but he is going to need to draft a pro-bowler next year.

    • FantuzPhysics

Well. Will we have Alshon? Forte? Bennett? He has to sign Alshon no?

      • AlbertInTucson

Pretty sure Bennett’s days as a Bear are done.

        • Bender McLugh

          Many of us hope

          • AlbertInTucson

            He hopes, too.

Like a lot of players, Bennett has a limited “shelf life” with a given tem.

      • willbest

Alshon is a bear in 2016. The only question is if its a long term deal or the franchise tag.

      • Anonymous

Bennett is gone. Forte could be too. The latter will depend on the market. If someone is willing to pay him more than the Bears, this will be his last season at Soldier/Halas.

        • Irish Sweetness

AJ didn’t step up like I thought he would. We shouldn’t get hoodwinked into paying him #1 money. That’s for KW. If AJ leaves then maybe we need to draft a WR high next year or it’s another long one for Cutty. Pick up a semi-studly guy in FA – lots of good receiver out there lost in depth charts. How about poaching a Hurns or Robinson from JAX. Where the fuck is Miles Austin ? Crabtree, Torrey Smith, Boldin – these men can be had.

    • Joecashflow

      I’ll take that.

    • Irish Sweetness

We may draft another receiver. I think White will be great for Cutty, but does Pace give AJ’s agent what he wants? If we spend the first three picks on the front 7 I wouldn’t cry. Is it scheme though?
Anderson and Acho have had their moments. We missed Nanny out there yesterday. Timu might be something.

Excited for the draft and free agency. I don’t think we’re out of the playoffs yet are we? One thing’s for sure, Robbie needs to ride the pine. Bring somebody in, but we cannot give him 8M dollars over the next two years, nor allow him to lose us any more games.

  • FantuzPhysics

The ghosts of Angelo still haunt the Bears. Emery didn’t hit on enough picks and now we’ll see if Pace can. So far it looks like he has at least 3 decent players from this year’s draft already and that is without a healthy White. That’s something to be happy with.

    • Bender McLugh

      Si.

  • AlbertInTucson

I believe the Bears have now lost 9 or their last 10 at Soldier Field.

    • wreckinball

      Weird
      Almost a home field disadvantage

      • AlbertInTucson

It just amplifies the “Overall Talent” disadvantage.

  • AlbertInTucson

Once again, a team that was COMPLETELY LOST on the road ALL season to date finds Soldier Field most welcoming.

  • AlbertInTucson

The killer was when Cousins got away with basically throwing it up for grabs late in the 4th quarter and it wound up in Matt Jones’ lap and then the Bears let HIM get away with laying a live ball on the turf.

    • wreckinball

      Bad luck twice
Once on the catch and twice when he laid on the ground

    • Bender McLugh

And pinged ponged it back into the dudes arms. Sigh.

    • AlbertInTucson

I bet you could hear Jay Gruden scream “Nooooo!’ when Cousins let THAT duck fly.

    • willbest

Well considering the Bears actually dived for the ball and didn’t let him pick it up and walk it into the end zone that is once again a reminder of how much better they are than under Tucker’s reign of terror.

  • AlbertInTucson

And now, a word from our sponsor…

The Bears lose ANOTHER they could have won,

…and again, make the faithful sick.

Gould came in and spoiled the fun…

    …with another unsuccessful kick.

    Burma-Shave

    • wreckinball

I think Gould is gone this week
      A little sad

      • EnderWiggin

No way. If he is perfectish the last few games, it will be a more interesting offseason though.

  • Trac

Hey Jeff? DeSean Jackson? I will never play a ff player again based on your recommendation. Smh.

    #shouldaplayedhilton

    • MB30SD

      that’s on you foo! hahaha

      #ffruinsfootball

    • AlbertInTucson

Jackson got dinged up just as the skins were starting to find him.

  • MB30SD

we need a lach level player at IMLB next year. that and some upgrade and a helluva lot more injury luck and we’ll be good next season.

    • wreckinball

      Agree

    • Irish Sweetness

This. A HAL 9000 supercomputer linebacker.

  • Joecashflow

Lead the league in holds and no MLB. Fix those 2 and we win some games.

  • MB30SD

    Dave, think robbie’s done yet?

  • MB30SD

I know a bunch of you are dads. Well, I got this for my kids last week and it actually made bad ass ice cream…. and my kids had a blast using it.

    • RenoBear

This thing is awesome! I’m in

  • Johnnywad

Goddammitt. Beat the Packers at their place, and slug it out with the Broncos, and yet lose to the Niners and Skins. WTF is this team? Season’s damn near over and I can’t sort it out.

    • Anonymous

M.O. of this team is to play to the level of its competition. And let’s be honest, Cheese are scuffling big time this year, and DEN was giving a QB his first NFL start.

      • Johnnywad

Sure, but they’re 10-3 and 9-4. Still a pretty good measuring stick. Broncos were winning games with Payton Manning playing like one legged Jonathan Quinn.

        • Anonymous

          Valid point, especially about DEN.

In terms of the Cheese, they feel like a 9-4 mirage/paper tiger. The only truly elite teams seem like CAR, NE, AZ, and right behind them CIN (before Dalton went down) and maybe SEA (could be surging late).

Cheese always have a chance because of Rodgers but otherwise they don’t seem much better than MIN.

  • BillW

Well I may have seen Forte score as a Bear live for the last time. Right in the end zone our seats are in

What was the deal on the live ball on the ping pong completion? The replay in stadium didn’t show all the way. So did Washington recover it?

Very last set of downs before the miss. 2 long passes incomplete when there was plenty of time left and they should have prioritized moving the chains. Were those Cutler audibles?

Long had a horrible day. I think it was O’B who said they should move him back to RG next year

The crowd clearly expected the Bears to win when they got to 21 all. Especially when they moved down on the last possession. It wasn’t the red zone but it was horrible play callig. When they didn’t get another first it seemed like everyone knew the game was over.

They have stalled surprisingly since GB. I thought one trap game was not out line. But a second means they took a step back.

Maybe it’s just personnel. Certainly on Defense and now with the receivers hurt their offense too

Arrow still pointing up but these two games brought it downward slightly.

    • AlbertInTucson

Yeah, the Bears DID dive for it but it bounced right back into Jones’ hands.

    • willbest

I said back September its better to have an all-pro guard than an above average tackle. But then the Bears don’t have anybody to put out there except Long right now.

    • Irish Sweetness

I’d be happy to see him back at RG and run Tayo at RT. We’d at least be able to make some holes on that right side. I know it was pre-season, but Tayo kept a clean pocket there for Fales. Not sold on this Omameh guy. The right side is unreliable now.

  • MB30SD

Man we can all use some of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeH0A2tkeEQ

  • BillW

    Brutal game day thread again

Even at 14 down (twice) the fans seemed to feel it wasn’t over. So the no quit comeback attitude the players have translated to the fans. The fans believe.

    • willbest

I quit when Robbie lined up to kick the 50 yarder in the rain. I didn’t believe.

  • MB30SD
  • The GP

Robbie Gould has been a great kicker for the Bears. But how long do they wait before they acknowledge he’s done?

End of the season. Like acknowledging Shae is not a starter and lacks the aggression and physical intensity to play inside. Like acknowledging there was a reason that Christian Jones fell off the draft chart – not just because of his FSU antics. But because he lacks instinct. Acknowledging that Rolle was a stop gap and Prosinski was on the outside looking in for the same reasons Conte is now a math teacher.

Same time they will acknowledge that Wilson isn’t a WR2. And that the only guys they are gonna keep on D are Goldman, Amos and maybe Jenkins. Same time they realize that Ego ain’t got it for the 3-4 and may just belong on the Cowboys.

Lot of realization this offseason, boss.

    • MB30SD

I am down with much of this.

Especially the stuff you and I posted below.

    • willbest

Conte is having a solid year down in Tampa. 75 combined tackles, 2 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and 6 passes defensed.

    • Irish Sweetness

So be it, it’s a process.

But in the cold light of day, roster problems did not ultimately cost us the last two games. We were good enough to win both all said and done. Should have won both … but our kicker let us down. Roster issues would have exposed us in the playoffs anyway. AJ can play a bit, but there it stops. Defense can’t stop the run, although I think they’d look better if Fangio wasn’t the #31 blitzer in the league.

Anyone have the Raiders picking off the Broncos in Mile High? Mack had 5 sacks. That’s my hope for the draft, a dominant pass rusher. Think on this, if Fangio had Mack he would have had no sacks. We can build a roster, but the DC won’t turn them loose.

DaBearsBlog @dabearsblog “In the end, Bears got lucky. They ended up keeping one of the best QBs in the league.”

Wonder if Ryan Pace agrees with you. My guess is he still wishes he could have pulled off that TEN/Mariota trade, which presumably involved Cutty.

Would have been a good year to break in a rookie QB/potential franchise guy.

    • willbest

You have no idea what Tennessee wanted for the #2. If they wanted 2 firsts and Cutler? You really want to make that trade?

      • Anonymous

You’re right, I don’t know. And neither do you. If I had to guess, TEN was only listening to offers and never came close to trading the pick.

In terms of what would be the right price, depends on if Mariota turns into a franchise guy. We don’t know yet. But he’s looked decent this year. Statistically, he has been as efficient as Cutler. And keep in mind Mariota is a rookie who never even lined up directly under center as a college player, and Cutler is a ten year veteran who is arguably having his best year ever as a Bear.

So yeah, if Mariota turns out to be a true franchise guy I give up Cutty and two #1s. In. A. Fucking. Heartbeat.

    • Irish Sweetness

The Jets was a more realistic trade, which would have given us Leonard Williams. And another QB with a magnificent beard.

  • Joecashflow

The rather obvious talent assessment after today is that Jeff is right. QB is not a problem, in fact an asset. The rest of the equation is up for grabs.

  • Thompson Way

This was perfect for the Bears. All these games are close, and the Bears are competitive! We were never going to go all the way this year, and with this being Fox’s first year, a losing record is going to help out great come the draft. Now we also have the excuse on letting Robbie Gould walk next year. The guy can’t send the ball out of the endzone on kick offs when the Bears truly need it. See ya Robbie……
