        FF draft tonight.

[Insert wedding crashers} It’s football season, baby!

        • Waffle

i’m bringing my A game. I’ve thoroughly researched my strategy.

  • Irish Sweetness

Bengals will test our run D, but the Bengals will bungle.

Someone explain the internet to my boy there ….

    • AlbertInTucson

Bengals should come out fired up. That looked like absolute dog doo last week.

  • burntorangenavyblue

Just wanted to say welcome back MB!

Oh and sweet baby Jesus that no one gets hurt tonight!

    • MB30SD

Thanks my maings. And yes please.

True Fandom: betting the house on the Bears in preseason. Never question insane loyalty. I’ll put Clausen on my fantasy team just on principle.

    • The GP

You can call the team “Buff Chicago’s Pickle”

  • Big Mike

Will Alshon and Wilson be ready to go against GB or not? On 8/14 he was in a walking boot (but not injured). 2 weeks later he’s not so much as seen his football gear. He’s listed as questionable tonight. As is Wilson. I’d rather they just say their keeping them out. Maybe they aren’t allowed to do that. Bah.. FN receivers.

    • BearDown100393

If the receiving corps starters are not available for tonight but the coaching staff expects them to play against GB, why start Cutler?

      • Big Mike

        Exactly.

        • BearDown100393

I agree. Not much to gain in that particular circumstance

    • The GP

      Wilson needs the reps.

Gase’s scheme relies HEAVILY on crossing patterns and flat horizontal route running.

Wilson + going over the middle = Out for the season by game 3?

Hello Josh Bellamy. Hello waiver wire.

      • Waffle
        • Big Mike

So when we play Seattle, should we not play him?

          • Waffle

i say no to any WR that is still hurt. We can’t have all 4 WR’s not able to play. It’s asking to go 5-11.

          • Big Mike

When does he play? If he doesn’t play what’s the point?

      • Big Mike

I hate pre-season. I don’t like football players who are under constant threat of injury. Seems like some guys just get hurt all the time.

        • AlbertInTucson

          Like Wilson?

          • Big Mike

Yes. Wilson, Mills, guys like that who need reps and are always hurt during the preseason but somehow can heal to get a game check

          • AlbertInTucson

          • MB30SD

Nah, that’s the problem with this place… too much Nana around erra corner. I’m too picky with too many options. Even 85 could get laid down here.

    • Morning, bitch.
Watched Man From UNCLE last night.

      Meh.

      • MB30SD

Why are you being mean to me. And huh?

        • Aren’t you into spy flicks, or is it just Bond?

Man from UNCLE is not only a spy flick, but a guy Ritche Lock Stock flick.

I thought it would be better. I wasn’t sure if the movie was a parody or what.

          • MB30SD

Ahhhh, forgot I saw that preview. All spy, but especially bond.

That’s a bummer, unexpected from richie

The kingsmen was good. Enjoyed it

Be there or be square (cuz if you’re not, it fucks everything up)

    9pm Central.

    Prepare your angus!

    • Shady

Did you change the scoring settings from last year? Check out the scoring leaders from last season, guys like Devin Hester and Benjamin Cunningham lead the way. That can’t be right…

      • I saw that, though Hester is an OUTLIER since he returns kicks (successfully/return points) and also did reasonably well as a WR.

But those are rare. And if you feel comfortable starting Hester in your line-up from week to week, well, you’re braver than I!

        It’s part of the strategy..

However, Don’t know about Benjamin Cunningham. Sometimes statistical anomalies pop up in any format.

But I’m keeping the same cuz it’s too late now to change the scoring.

For the most part it’s balanced while giving any team a fighting chance even if behind by a lot.

Only difference I really made was leaving out Punter.

Other than that, it’s exactly the same I think.

        • Shady

It appears you added a point per kick and punt return yard. You should ditch that.

          • hmm. I’ll double check that.

          • Shady

Also check out the block kick return TDs (BLKKRTD). You have it listed both in the misc section and the D/ST section as 12 points. Sooo… is that going to end up being 24 pts total? Maybe just leave it in one of those categories.

          • You know, it didn’t happen last year, so I’m kinda curious about that. I think it’ll only count as 12 (which was the original intent), but yeah, maybe to be safe, I’ll just put it on one category.

It might actually be slightly more probable this season since I think a team can technically return a 2 point turnover the other way now. Man, I would reward 24 points for that!

Also, fixed the KR/PR yds points. I think I just accidentally clicked the box on that one.

          • Shady

            hmmm… Yes… “accidentally”

Whatever you say commish… I’m watching you Focker.

          • Yeah, what do you think I’m conspiring…buying Hester for $1 then riding him to the Championship?!

            (sinister Dr. Evil laugh)

          • Shady

I was considering saying nothing and doing the same.

          • WRs in general are crazy in our league. On the one hand, they’re not as consistent as the HBs, however, I rode Julio/ODB/Brown to the highest point totals in the league.

The last wk Antonio Brown scored 46!
Jammal Charles who I spent a lot on…9 points

          • MB30SD

            Dooont eeeeet

  • EnderWiggin

I was thinking about ya’lls discussion concerning whether or not Jay should play tonight with no starting wideouts.
It will be good for Jay to get some game reps with Bellamy, Lawrence, and the gang.
I’m more worried about the two struggling tackles. THAT would be the reason to sit Cutty, we don’t need him having Giants flashbacks before the season starts.

    • BerwynBomber

Lawrence looks halfway serviceable. He may even catch a few passes during the regular season.

  • DocNitty Ellipsoids Ornamental

With all these injuries and last year still fresh on the brain, can anyone say #1 pick?

    reverse juju

    • EnderWiggin

      32nd or 1st.
      I’d take either.

  • The GP

These drives are like a textbook video on what happens when you don’t have a deep or even intermediate passing game.

  • The GP

Who is not a NFL corner: Tracy Porter
    Who may be one: Mitchell.

    • Mitchell’s making the cut. Instincts, athleticism, technique, wow plays…only thing he lacks is size…like MB.

      • MB30SD

        That’s what she said….. wait…..

    • Big Mike

      It’s Cutlers fault

    • Irish Sweetness

And Porter is ahead of Mitchell on the DC.

  • Big Mike

Do we have a RT in the game ?

  • colossal fuck up by our safeties. Missed tackles, bad angles.

Almost a Lach-like play by McClellin. Almost.

      • MB30SD

        Umm

  • EnderWiggin

    Lawrence’ first drop this preseason?

      Brock Vereen isn’t it

      • AlbertInTucson

        Is Ben Vereen available?

    • AlbertInTucson

Or, perhaps the bastard brother of Peyton and Eli…?

  • beninnorcal

Not as scary as the defense though. Shit. Well, preseason.

    • BearDown100393

I’m watching a defense get outworked. Preseason or not, that cannot be acceptable.

      • beninnorcal

Oh, I know. Just kind of the running joke- preseason.

  • MB30SD

Greenbay getting SPAAAANKED by the eegggles.

    Preseason.

    • BerwynBomber

They won’t be that good this year.

      • MB30SD

I hear that every year. They still have Aaron rodgers, right?

        • AlbertInTucson

In case nobody mentioned it, neither Rodgers nor his backup, Scott Tolzien, played a down tonight.

      • Irish Sweetness

They have the best QB, receiver and RB in the league … they’ll be in the superbowl.

    • AlbertInTucson

Steelers got spanked today by Buffalo.

      Meh.

  • BearDown100393

I just want this damn half over. Cutler taking sacks is no frigging good.

    • Waffle

Even slauson getting worked. Leno brutal again. Will get cutler killed

    • EnderWiggin

      Yeah, time to sit.

  • BerwynBomber

Bennett might catch 120 passes this year. Nice two-minute drive by Cutty.

  • BerwynBomber

Cobb left Cheese game with a right shoulder injury.

Jets rookie Leonard Williams left with a potential serious knee injury.

    • beninnorcal

      Hopefully Goldman is ok.

      • BerwynBomber

That looked, at worst, a concussion. Can’t see him missing more than the final pre-season.

        • AlbertInTucson

These days you can’t tell with the concussions. The independent medical guys refused to clear RGIII for this week, much to Jay Gruden’s chagrin I’m sure.

  • beninnorcal

The penalties have been another one of the big factors so far. Lots of people getting beat and holding. The Langford face mask on that nice long punt was a bitch.

    • BerwynBomber

Yeah, bad game all-around. Cutty, Forte, Bennett, Sutton and Allen have been the only solid performers. Though I still think Lawrence has third WR potential despite his drop.

      • Waffle

        Sutton playing inspired

  • Big Mike

    Well that sucked

    • BearDown100393

The best player tonight on either side of the ball has been Cutler. He has no viable pass options and Forte was taken out early. Not much protection either.

      • BearDown100393

        Other than Bennett.

  • BerwynBomber

Was Fuller removed for Mitchell or I was hearing things?

    • BearDown100393

He was being handed a WR playbook……….

  • The GP

I love Fangio’s halftime interview. Joniak starts with

“How does it feel to be part of a rich tradition of defense with players like Butkus and Urlacher?”

Fangio doesn’t do the “so honored to be here” bull shit.

He says, “tradition or no tradition, this team has been to the playoffs 5 of the last 23 years.”

Joniak looked like he didn’t know what to say next.

    • BerwynBomber

That was Lou Canellis … but same difference.

      • The GP

Sorry you are right. Chicago sports guys are all so generic since the days of Tim Weigel and Marc Giangreco.

        • BerwynBomber

Giangreco: the man of the year-round fake tan.

          • The GP

Griangreco went to the Mike Adamle school of wax museum non-aging.

          • BerwynBomber

Yup, I’m sure both have employed Chicago’s best plastic surgeons at some point. But hey, even dudes get caught up in the beauty and youth contests in that industry.

          • AlbertInTucson

I still remember Adamle chastising players who crossed the picket lines during NFL player strikes but then later turning around crossing picket lines himself to continue color commentary for NBC when their Techs went on strike.

    • AlbertInTucson

Well said, Mr. Fangio and thank you.

      That statistic is ATROCIOUS.

      • AlbertInTucson

        Worse than atrocious. It’s frightening.

    • BearDown100393

And Fangio is really going to hate the missed tackles against the rush by his defense on tonight’s tape.

    • Big Mike

      Great quote

    • WhatDidTheFoxSay

Dude just made me hard. Tired of the Bears tradition bullshit. We have sucked for a long time and finally have a coach who says it. Pure awesomeness

      • Scharfinator

Agreed. It’s like 75% of the fans are perpetually stuck in ’85. I suspect it has to do with them wishing they were once again in their youth and not fat slobs who get shitfaced at public events (wishing they are just young slobs).

  • AlbertInTucson

Well, MY already low expectation level has been lowered.

Teams like the Steelers and Packers can afford to go thru the motions in exhibition games. Teams like the Bears can not.

    • BearDown100393

Not really sure why so many players apparently believe they have achieved job security with this particular coaching staff. Some might be shocked afterward.

    • Big Mike

      Good point

      • AlbertInTucson

On further review, the offense sitting receivers 1-4 plus minimal Forte IS a REASON for low point output and not just an EXCUSE.

On the other hand, getting lit up by A.J. McCarron IS a little disturbing.

  • BearDown100393

“Jay Cutler wants to lead his team down the field for another drive. That is how you get your team back into a football game” – Geez, thanks Jim for the insight.

    • The GP

Jim is on the Lou Malnatti diet.

      • EnderWiggin

Still better than Aikman being on the Buck diet.

Do we reschedule tonight’s draft if we don’t have 12/12?

    Fantasy draft about to start?

    • EnderWiggin

32 minutes if it going to happen.

      • WhatDidTheFoxSay

This my first draft under this type of big system. So we only have 200$ to draft?

        • WhatDidTheFoxSay

          Bid*

          • Yeah, it’s Trac and maybe 1 or 2 others first time. But you just select whomever, and bid.
IF a guy nominates someone you want, bid.
Once you can’t afford a player, the machine will cut you off like a credit card corp

        • EnderWiggin

Yeah man, it is easy. Draft order means NOTHING. We all start with $200. Let’s say the guy with the first pick chooses AP. Then, all of us get a chance to be the highest bidder.
I took AP last year for $60, I finished last.

          • EnderWiggin

each pick is like 1 or 1.5 minutes.

          • WhatDidTheFoxSay

I see thanks for clearing that up for me end

  • The GP

Does AJ McCarron still have that girlfriend that Brent Musburger wanted to Cialis?

    • BerwynBomber

Ah, was just wondering the same. Crowd shot needed. Maybe Sam Rosen will feel a pulse.

  • The GP

Every time Jeff or Andrew do a zoo picture of a Bear fighting another animal, we get stomped. Every damn time.

    • EnderWiggin

      This absolutely needs researched…

    • WhatDidTheFoxSay

Lol I gotta see the research also… I’ve seen plenty of bears fighting animal pics….

  • BearDown100393

Cheerleader about 10 feet from John Fox, the visiting coach. What a Boss.

  • EnderWiggin

Martin Sherrod looks like our best safety. Yeouch.

  • BerwynBomber

Pass rush has been good this second half. McCarron has been under duress since halftime.

    • The GP

I’d play Willie Young at ROLB before I would put Allen out there.

      #WashedUp

  • WhatDidTheFoxSay

Mb30sd man been years dude glad to see you back

  • The GP

Pickle’s gonna get another dent in his head if this keeps up.

  • T-mins 17 mins for the draft.

Waffle, at least try to make the first 15 mins and furiously get all the bears you want. You’ll go broke soon, then the machine will autodraft scrubs for you towards the end

    • The GP

Kadeem Carey’s luggage might have been a good FF name.

    • Waffle

      • MB30SD

flash sucks… so 90’s (and I worked for Macromedia till we were bought by adobe). Flash sucks.

  • EnderWiggin

Running the 2:00 drill for 1.5 quarters is great for our backup QBs. If Cutty gets hurt, we will be loosing.

    • I might have to draft Cutty.
The way our D looked tonight, he might have to throw for 6,000 yds to keep us in games

      • BerwynBomber

Cutty has looked very smart this preseason. Lots of small, ball-security decisions that add up. Gase/Fox influence? But we’ll see if it translates to the regular season.

I still he is a better QB if he’s winging the fuck out of it rather than game-managing but we’ll see.

  • Vereen suuuuuuxs

    • The GP

But Mitchell plays heads up, gets the fumble

  • BerwynBomber

Jeff Triplett in mid-season form. Calling a ton of penalties and fucking up in the process.

    • AlbertInTucson

He graduated “Suma Cum Lousy” from the Ed Hochuli School Of Officiating.

  • The GP

Fanduel.com says it will pay out $2 BILLION in prizes this year.

    Surely this is fraudulent advertising.

    • AlbertInTucson

      I doubt it.

      They’ll probably take in $5B.

You have to pay to play, just like Vegas.

For every guy that wins big there’s probably a thousand who lose big.

I heard an ad today for new on line fantasy outlet to compete with Fan Duel and Draft Kings.

Because P.T. Barnum was right about suckers.

  • Hank

At least Claussen looks like a leader.

    • madscout12

      Does it matter though?

      4/6 for 28?

      Fuck looking like a leader.

      • BerwynBomber

The QB leader thing is a tad overrated. Helps if your starting QB is one but it’s not a death knell if he isn’t.

We were fine when Kreutz was the leader of the O. Not so much when BMarsh was.

Plus, QB leadership comes in different forms: Rodgers and Flacco are quiet types, Brady and Rivers more in your face.

        • madscout12

Everyone’s a leader if they win. Every QB is a leader if they go 30/36 for 4 TDs.

If Cutler had a 4K yard season where he threw for 35 TD with 5 INTs and looked the EXACT SAME WAY while going 13-3 and winning the SB, watch how fast he turns into a leader.

      • AlbertInTucson

        Less than 4.4 per attempt.

Cutler was under 6 but his only regular target available was Bennett.

  • BerwynBomber

Brian Bugala left Cheese game with knee injury. Four of the five starting Cheese OL are out with injuries.

    • AlbertInTucson

Bulaga has become the Chris Chandler of offensive tackles.

    • AlbertInTucson

You’d think that has to catch up to the Packers sooner or later, but they’ve given up a TON of sacks over the last 2-3 seasons and it doesn’t seem to matter.

      • MB30SD

nothing matters when you have rodgers. as sad as it makes me to say, the guy is that team and he is that good. So awesome he plays for our most hated rivals.

        • AlbertInTucson

It sucks having to endure Narcissus all those years and now the Rodgers era.

          • MB30SD

yeah, brutal. And we get Ralph Conte… or whatever the fuck his name was.

          • AlbertInTucson

And before that, Bart Starr and Lombardi.

  • BearDown100393

    Jimmy ‘ down

  • Hank

History says regular season starting QB sits the week 4 preseason game. But I think Cutler needs more reps on this offense. Any chance he plays?

    • madscout12

      Nope…Pickles, Fales, and maybe Cardin

    • Waffle

There was a drive killing penalty in every single drive tonight and that’s your worry?

      • Joecashflow

Yeah, Thats a worry. Zero TD’s in 3 games by 1st team O is a worry

        • Waffle

Neither has Seattle but that hasn’t slowed the frantic slobbering on wilsons Weiner.
you know alshon would bring home the bacon several times if healthy. Have no fear.

          • MB30SD

That dude was drinking next to me at a bar in Little Italy about a month and a half ago. He’s about the same size as me, maybe I have him by 10LBs? Seemed like a nice enough guy, he was being cool to all the tools trying to suck his dick and get pics and autographs from him.

    • BerwynBomber

Fales and Cardin next week, or so I would assume.

    • BearDown100393

      No. He sits.

    • AlbertInTucson

Cutler went 13 of 17 with his 5th 6th and 7th wideouts and not much playing time for Matt Forte.

      No INTs.

Not to mention Jordan Mills doing a dead-on J’Marcus Webb impression at right tackle.

The rest of the supposedly “good” offensive line was nothing to write home about, either.

  • MB30SD

Is there a reason Wilson and graham are both playing in the 3rd quarter in this game against sd?!?!

    • Waffle

Is there a reason why we have the actor that played Michael oher as our right tackle instead of an NFL player like Michael oher?

      • MB30SD

        Ummmmmm?

        • AlbertInTucson

I don’t think Oher has been exactly been living up to his status as a #1 pick.

        • Waffle

Haha, just needed a forum to voice my hatred for leno, ola and mills

          • MB30SD

I figured. Was just trying to find the hidden reference to banging whatsherface.

    • AlbertInTucson

Because Pete Carroll thinks he’s smarter than everybody else?

      • MB30SD

maybe Al. until they both go down right? I was trying to figure out why they were so pumped he and jimmy were tearing apart the SD 3rd string. YEAH! 1ST DOWN!!!

        …uuhhhhh, oooook.

        • AlbertInTucson

I agree whole heartedly. And Pete didn’t look so smart on that last play call in the sSuper Bowl, didhe?

          • MB30SD

I personally think the guy is a total bad ass, but sometimes I scratch my head.

          • AlbertInTucson

He bailed at USC. I realize college coaches can’t watch every player 24/7 but, c’mon Pete, how’s Reggie Bush driving a new Escalade or whatever?

You didn’t bat an eye or give it a second thought?

I believe in the courtroom they call that “Willful ignorance”.

    • BerwynBomber

Carroll, I believe, is known for pushing his starters hard in the 3rd preseason game and throughout camp.

      • MB30SD

Yeah, he is BB… but to see those two in the LATE 3rd quarter was a little bit of a shock.

  • AlbertInTucson

Separated shoulder for Cobb? Eh, not too bad.

Busted collarbone? Horse of different color.

Waiting on how bad Bulaga’s knee is hurt is no fun for Packer fans tonight, either.

  • AlbertInTucson

    “Dog Day After Noon.”

    A Michael Vick sighting today

    • Bender McLugh

Was great to see him sacked

  • Trac

A thousand apologies to the FF guys I screwed by missing the draft. I had to cover an employee’s shift today and I pulled a Mallet.

    • Shady

You don’t have a QB. This is a 2 QB league. The only one you screwed was yourself.

I’ll trade you Eli Manning for Knile Davis and one of the late round POS QBs you drafted.

      • Trac

        Done

        • Shady

I take that back. You ended up with Fitzpatrick and McCown. There were better guys available. Why didn’t you log in ASAP??

          • Trac

            It’s still going on?

          • Shady

            Just ended.

          • MB30SD

            Fitz is really smart.

          • Trac

No meme to respond with but I sure wish I had one.

          • MB30SD
          • Trac

Hahaha. A little harsh but yeah, kinda.

          • MB30SD
          • MB30SD

you brought this on yourself… OWWWWWWNNNN yo SEEEELLLLF!

        • NewBearInTown

Before you do a deal with Shady, let me see what I can ask for to give you Matt Ryan. Ryan is a decent starting option.

          • Trac

            Ok

      • Trac

Was I the only one that screwed himself?

      • Trac

Throw me dome love shady. I just put in a claim for Orton to make my Irish trifecta complete. I will have McCown, Fitz and Orton as my QB’s.

  • MB30SD
  • Trac

Another typical Lovie team where the offensive line is an after thought. My hero!!!

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/08/29/jameis-takes-a-bunch-of-hits-again/

    • MB30SD

they will be in the bottom 10… if they’re lucky. Lovie is a curse.

If you rearrange the letters in Jameis Winston’s name, it spells JaMarcus Russell 2.0 (TM GP)

      • Trac

        Tripple or nothing? Hahaha

        • MB30SD

Jaysoos… I’m not sure there’s that much biltong in all of the US. you might need to hire a shipping container from SA boykie.

      • NewBearInTown

        MB!!!

        • MB30SD

          N!B!!!!

How the heck are you my man?! I hope the family and the practice and life is all well.

          • NewBearInTown

All is well my man. I never made it to San Diego when we hit up California, but I hear life is good for you. I’ll have to take a rain check for now.

          • MB30SD

Definitely. My door is always open to you and your family whenever you come to town.

It’s been ok thanks NB. Doing the best I can. ; )

      • honestly, I think he’s the next Jay Cutler. Which isn’t necessarily the worst thing.

  • Waffle

lol, sorry for missing the draft boys. My buddy is dying of cancer and i had a chance to hang with him and watch the bears game. I couldn’t log in from my dumb phone.

I find it cosmically hilarious that i ended up with Derek Carr and Blake Bortles.

Let me know if any of you guys want to do a deal for any of my players.

    • Trac

I ended up with Irish ‘ s hero’s. McCown and Fitz.

      • Waffle

        lol, you sir…..are totally screwed.

        • Trac

I’ll have as much of a chance at winning as the bum you find sitting back room of a dive bar with the horse racing section of the newspaper and a sharpie.

          • Both of you guys still have a pretty good team…except for, ya know, QBs.

          • Irish Sweetness

My younger years Trac. Nail on the head, son.

    • MB30SD

      man… that sucks. sorry maing.

      • Waffle

It definitely puts life in perspective my man. We’re here for a blink of an eye and the world has and will be around for hundreds of millions/billions of years. We’re a blip on the radar but it doesn’t mean we can’t make it a meaningful blip.

        • Scharfinator

Mostly, make it meaningful to you and those you care about. Fuck the rest of it.

If you happen to care about Ugandan refugees and want to make meaningful actions for them, good on ya.

          • Waffle

i tried to use that rationale to get the greenlight from the wife on a used porsche and was immediately shut down

          • MB30SD

Now try a ps4… the old I’m pregnant, nahhh, just kidding I just bought a puppy trick.

          • Waffle

Haha, if I can’t have a 2002 911 to fuck around with for the next 15yrs can I just have a ps4 to play war games until 2am with my blog friends?

    • NewBearInTown

I offered you a package. Let me know what you think.

      • Waffle
      • Trac

        Where’s mine?

        • MB30SD

Always after some dude’s package huh trac. Hahaha…. nttawwt

          • Trac

            Good morning punchy.

    • Yeah, that’s cool. Under the circumstance. Sorry to hear about your friend.
Both my grandparents died from cancer, so I feel ya.

  • Trac

Not a Chip Kelly booster but he seems to have struck gold with Bradford. Why didn’t we trade for him again?

    • Chip runs the most QB-friendly offense in the NFL, by a long shot. It’s already made Nick Foles and Mark Sanchez look much better than they are.

      • MB30SD

And it will be about 5 seconds before he rips one of his many labia. ..as usual.

  • Waffle

only 2 negative takeaways from yesterday’s game:

Right Tackle is going to be a HUGE issue. Penalties and botched RT blocking assigments have stopped every single drive of the 2015 1st string offense. When the Right Tackle doesn’t fuck something up Bushrod is absolutely willing to step in and pick up the slack in the suck balls dept.

The defense will need to be one of the most aggressive in the league from a blitz perspective. McClellin seems to be a step and a half too late at all times, all of our corners have regressed, the safety play over the top is brutal and injuries are now becoming an issue on D. Fuller must be used as a guided missile attacking various soft spots in the D.

    • Trac

It’s hard to gauge that game given our current players injury status however, I strongly suggest not betting on our boys to win this year if you want to send your kids to college. He he.

    • The GP

Bushrod had surgery in the offseason to correct a herniated disk in his back. It’s obvious he isn’t the same guy now. He’s in killer pain, or he is killer numb from massive shots and he’s slow and the pain is distracting him.

    • Big Mike

RT OMG he/they were awful. I can’t count how many times 72 got beat on an inside rush move on Pass Protection. I saw 6 maybe 7. Defense can’t cover anyone either. Blah. Good news is we improved over last year’s 31-0 loss in the 3rd preseason game.

      • AlbertInTucson

Bad news is, we still look like a 5-11 team.

        • Big Mike

Indeed. Damn. Hard to get excited.

      • Waffle

Leno got worked over and over and then Mills took over and got worked over and over and committed multiple penalties.

        • Big Mike

          It was painful to watch.

  • The GP

    Media takes:

Fangio was disgusted with Chicken Dinner and Jones. He put Mason Foster and Bostic out there and that change may stick as a starter change.

Fox wants the waiver/FA wire hit hard for tackles. Tim Jennings is a shitbird in Fangio’s eyes, nobody quite sure why.

    • Waffle

at this point i’d rather have T. Mitchell out there at corner. TJ may be done.

  • AlbertInTucson

Early reports are that the Cobb and Bulaga injuries are not “serious”, though Cobb is having additional tests on his shoulder.

    • AlbertInTucson

Sometimes those early reports are a bit optimistic.

  • Trac

Well, since every time I look there’s another injury, we may very well be playing for a franchise QB this year.

Disappointed that we may not be able to field a healthy team let alone a good one. Fingers crossed.
