First playoff week bye? It could happen you know.

  • Trac

The Bears have lost to the Vikings already? This is news to me.

    • DaBearsBlog

You got a way for them to go to 2-5 without losing Sunday?

      • Trac

        Gotcha. I misheard that.

    Meanwhile, in the Motor City…

OC, Joe Lombardi, is fired a couple of hours after HC, Jim Caldwell proclaimed no changes would be forthcoming.

Lombardi’s replacement: Jim Bonb Cooter despite THEE on his resume’:

“Cooter was arrested in 2006 for DUI, but he was arrested again for a more serious – and bizarre – offense in 2009. According to WVLT in Knoxville, Tenn., Cooter was charged with aggravated burglary after allegedly getting into bed with a woman after climbing into the window of her apartment and stripping down to his underwear. The woman called the police, who arrested Cooter, and he was released on a $10,000 bond the next day.” – CBS Detroit.

Dolphins look fired up for this Thursdays game. Wish they were playing in Miami. I would lay the wood on that +7.5 and make some cheddar.

Here’s my FF comment for the week…

    • Neeevver know. If CJ1K can have a huge night, you could still win.
That’s what I like about our league. You’re never truly out if a dude has a close to historic night.

However, he’ll get vultured by Ellington and the other Johnson.

Excellent 40 time, insane high jump and an excellent stache.

      Thx.

I was embarrassed for Joe Rogan when he had Degrasse-Tyson on. Rogan is a moon-hoaxer, and he did a complete 180 when he had Tyson on, who being an astrophysicist shits on moan-hoaxers from a height.

      I love Brian Cox’s resposne to moon-hoaxers.

“Fox is 10,000 times the coach Caldwell is”

I don’t disagree with the sentiment and yet Fox coached poorly at the end of his matchup with Caldwell. Not saying he was “outcoached”. Not hard to argue that Fox is better, but 10,000 seems a tad high given how he put the game in the hands of a very shaky defensive unit.

File under “These two DESERVE each other” ?…

“Dallas defensive end Greg Hardy and injured receiver Dez Bryant, who was not dressed for the game, appeared to get into an animated verbal exchange on the sideline during Sunday’s 27-20 loss to the Giants.

Hardy’s intense discussion with Bryant followed immediately after he broke into the special-teams huddle to berate his teammates after they gave up a decisive 100-yard kickoff return by New York’s Dwayne Harris.”

That was good. I’m not seeing a lot of contrition from their new signing. What a shame!

Glamour magazine’s “Woman of the Year.” I guess you don’t need two XX chromosomes, or a vagina for that matter, to win the award. She’s stunning and brave.

I’m always reinventing myself. Don’t tell Irish, but I went to a pop concert last Saturday, and I’m going to a Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings tribute show on Halloween.

          • Irish Sweetness

Dude. I had to bring my sister to a Kylie Minogue concert when Kylie was a popstrel and her audience were nine years old. A long-haired rocker in his leathers with his sister up on his shoulders in the ‘mosh pit’ of a Kylie concert.

          • Cormonster

A few posts back you asked about metal bands. I haven’t really seen any since System of a Down like 10 years ago. As far as harder rock bands, I seen Primus and Alice in Chains in the last five years and both were really good. They still got it. Alice in Chains had a pretty good album a few years ago. Not sure about the rest of the old hard rock or metal bands.

The only harder rock band I like that is still as good (actually keeps getting better) as 20 years ago is Gov’t Mule. They started as a power trio, but have since added keyboards. They keep putting out new material that is top notch. Not all of the albums have been zingers, but they are all very solid. Their live shows are still mind blowing. They never play the same set list for any two shows, so it always stays fresh and keeps me going back for more whenever they’re within 250-300 miles away. Any metal or harder rock bands that you think still got it or your into?

          • Irish Sweetness

That would be a no. I didn’t like anything Metallica came out with post-Load (except for that one track ‘The day that never comes’). The new Maiden stuff is metal by numbers, sounds very maiden, but there’s no meat. To be honest, I spend more time listening to Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Ella, stuff like that.

We’ve always got the old metal, and all of that great rock from the Seventies, and we get to crank it up when WE get old ….

          • Cormonster

I still love the old stuff, but most of the current bands I’m really into are more blues, funk, and jazz. I’m really stoked for December 12th. Going to the Warren Haynes xmas jam in North Carolina. 3 of my favorite artists will be there. I hope I get to hear them play this song.

          • Irish Sweetness

Pearl Jam. I forgot them. They still have it, and they record a lot of their concerts.

Yes, Tedeschi Trucks, Love them – you put me onto them. Love that Midnight in Harlem.

          • AlbertInTucson

I actually saw Waylon in concert here in Tucson.

            1978 or ’79.

So long ago that his opening act was…

            Hank Williams, Jr.

          • Cormonster

My friend Cheech, who’s putting on the show, opened for Merle Haggard two years ago when he played in La Crosse. He also named his son Waylon. He’s more of a rock player, but also does a lot of “outlaw country” shows. Here’s a little country video of one of his songs. Cheech is the singer and guitar player with all the hair. The bass player worked for me last year doing landscaping. Hard ass worker and strong as a bull.

          • AlbertInTucson

Hank. Jr. ended his set with “FAMILY TRADITION”.

Waylon opened his set doing his Buddy Holly medley, backed by The Crickets.

          • MB30SD

Nice. Care to share WHICH pop show? Might I fathom a guess?

…taylor swift? Kate Perry? Yeah, you’re a true trooper. I’d watch both those chicks shake their shit for a couple hours too. ; )

          • Cormonster

Grace Potter, who is hotter than both those chicks. To be fair to her, most of her stuff is awesome, but she went pop rock on her new album. Her current touring band still had a lot of rock stuff, but too many dance beats mixed into the songs. Not as good as the other 9 times I seen her in concert, but she was looking totally hot strutting her stuff throughout the show. I do hope she reverts back to her old style on future albums.

          • MB30SD

            nice. well done.

“They’ll have more Bears fans in San Diego than Chargers fans.”

And the fact that the Chargers have officially filed to moved to L.A. won’t improve on the number of Charger fans that show up.

    • SC Dave

      Hopefully not.

  • CanadaBear

After the BiQueens woke up last Sunday they bitch slapped the Loins. It might be a playoff type game for Jeff but all I’m seeing is another L. Maybe with the bye and some healing you could make a case for a Bears W but all I have is visions of CD being trucked for 5-10 yds every time he’s going for an unassisted tackle on Peterson.

    • BerwynBomber

I suspect it will be a tight game. Zimmer is sorta a Jr. Fox from what I can tell: won’t dazzle you with coaching moves but prepares a team to the point that it won’t beat itself.

They have more D talent than we do but it’s also young/raw. And Cutty is a more dangerous QB than Bridgewater, and our O-line is, at worst, second-best in the division.

In short, no reason we can’t win the game. Though then again, same could probably be said of MIN.

      • CanadaBear

I think Wallace and Diggs go long, Rudolph goes medium and Peterson goes everywhere. I think the Bears O is better but not by a lot. The BiQueens D is much, much better. Diggs on ST’s seems pretty scary. Oh well. Hope you”re right.

      • CHI run D is terrible, AP is a monster. That terrifies me.

Also worried about Diggs, as CHI has really struggled covering the deep pass this year.

        • Trac

I’ve got him on my FF team. I have to sit him this week due to etiquette protocol.

          • No such etiquette for me. I’ll be riding him. And throwing Diggs in my starting lineup for the first time.

          • In another league? I got him in Da League and another one too.

I might have to start him now that Foster is down.

          • Irish Sweetness

            Charcandrick West. Get on.

          • He gone. The second Charles went down.
I was this close to stashing him the wk before too, but I had to handcuff Forsett.
            Shite.

          • Pissed Off

I played west in 2 leagues last week and it payed dividends nicely

    • Pissed Off

At least ap won’t be running over conte all day. Even when we suck, which we do, we can always have a shot to beat the vikes at home.

      • SC Dave

You’re both dicks on this. AP has run over people on every team in the fucking league for many years.

        • Pissed Off

No shit Sherlock. Just emphasizing that im glad he will be running over someone else and not the missed tackle machine that is conte

          • Scharfinator

Yeah and if your aunt had balls, she’d be your uncle. How does the victim of AP change the outlook of the game?

(Unless it is his child again and they very seriously suspend him for a little bit.)

          • Pissed Off

It doesn’t just stating I’m glad Conte isnt’ out there. Basically anyone else has at least a chance to tackle him in the open field. And I think you guys are giving AP too much credit. He’s on the downside of his career in my opinion. He dances way to much at the line of scrimmage nowadays vs running north and south. When he hits the hole he is still very dangerous but I think he dances too much to start the play which gets him in trouble and therefore makes him less of a back than he used to be.

  • Trac

Wow, Cardinals have 123 yds offense with 4 mins to play in 1st qtr. GP may just get his points from CJ. This is about to get ugly real soon.

    I don’t get it. Am I looking at a different game score… it’s 10-7 ravens, right?

Why is everyone blowing the Cardinals (no, I’m not actually watching the game)

  • BearDown100393

The Cardinals might as well go for it on every 4th down. The Ravens offense is as impotent as its offensive coordinator.

  • The GP

A woman in Indiana on Saturday went duck hunting. She set her 12 gauge down on the ground while loaded without the safety on. Her hunting dog stepped on the gun and it went off and blew her foot up good.

    The dog’s name?

Wait for it…. Even Al will love this one…

    Dog’s name is Trigger.

Man. That is so so so good.

DC said this about whom recently?…haha! “As long as he’s healthy, he’s one of the better safeties in our league,” Defensive Coordinator said. “He’s a smart guy, he can match up on tight ends, backs out of the backfield. He can even go out and cover a third or fourth receiver at times. And he can tackle. Yes he has, he’s played very, very well. We’ve just got to keep him on the field and he’ll continue to get better.”
