• The Yes Guy

    YES YES YES!!

  • Hank

    Go Bears.

    • The Yes Guy

      yes

    • MB30SD

Hank, get off the innernness, you’re way too young!

  • The Yes Guy

    Yes.

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

Yes Guy, had an extra iced coffee this morning.

  • The Yes Guy

    Yes?

  • Joecashflow

    Bear down Bears!

  • The Yes Guy

    Yes.

  • T’Challa

It seems as though the Bears haven’t played in weeks. I kept reliving that win over the Packers. Now, it’s time to get another win.

    Bear down!

  • Doc Nitty

My hatred for the Packers is rivaled only by my hatred for the Santa Clara 1849ers.

Can we please fucking destroy these fools?

Bear Down, brothers. I know I am.

    • T’Challa

In the hate department, Packers and the Patriots run neck and neck.

      • CanadaBear

I hate the Pats because of their serial cheating (and winning) but the Beloved don’t play them often enough for me to work up enough steam to put them up there with the Fudge, Forty Whiners, BiQueens, Loins or the SeaSquawks.

        • T’Challa

The reason last weekend was so great is because the Bears beat the Packers and the Patriots lost.

          Perfection in my book!

        • Johnnywad

Trying to decide between the Lions and Packers Thursday night was tough. I hate them both. Silver lining, the Packers were down when the clock hit zero. But the Lions have a special gift for losing a game. It’s nice to know the universe is in still aligned properly.

  • MB30SD

    Kapernick….

    …I mean bortles…. I mean gabbert…..

    • Doc Nitty

      Way MOTHERFUCKING dead.

  • CanadaBear

Hopefully the Beloved get up early and the Forty Whiners pack it in.

  • Scharfinator

    BEAR DOWN

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

i don’t think it has been mentioned but yesterday was the anniversary of the repealing of Prohibition. So lets all raise a glass and get ready to celebrate a Bears WIN!!!

  • willbest

You can only believe the Vikings losing today would be better for the Bears if you believe they are a phantom team finally exposed, who have no chance at winning @ARI or @GB.

    • Johnnywad

We need them to win. We want the Seahawks out and should the Bears manage to sneak up and grab the 6 seed, I like their chances at Minnesota as the 3 seed.

  • Shady

Weird story about Cutler’s brother in law (Kristin’s brother) going missing in Utah a couple days ago.

    • willbest

Any possible ideas? Is he a fuck up? Is he an outdoors type? A hardcore Mormon?

      • Shady

No idea, just heard it on the radio this morning. I think they found his car with some damage and his cell phone with other personal items inside, but he was nowhere to be found.

        • willbest

Sounds like he suffered a concussion and wandered off. Or he committed suicide.

  • Bender McLugh

    Daaaaaa BEARSSSSS

    • Bender McLugh

      Wow, autocorrect

  • BearDown100393

I’m all for supporting the military. The NFL better not be charging taxpayers for the Pearl Harbor remembrance.

    • willbest

      lol why would they

      • BearDown100393

Because they charge for on the field military recognition. It gets billed to you and me as recruiting/marketing.

  • willbest

4 teams are currently ahead of the Bears that need to beat themselves. 2 of them have to do.
Vikings lose 4 of 5 (SEA, @ARI, CHI, NYG, @GB)
    Falcons lose 2 of 5 (@TB, @CAR, @JAX, CAR, NO)
    Seattle lose 2 of 5 (@MN, @BAL, CLE, STL, @ARI)
    Packers lose 3 of 4 (DAL, @OAK, @ARI, MN)

I suppose you could argue that assuming the Bears win out the Vikings are really
Vikings lose 3 of 4 (SEA, @ARI, NYG, @GB) which means a loss today will probably make that pretty easy. However, it means I have to root for the packers in week 17. And I would rather not.

  • willbest

    BEARSSS

  • BearDown100393

4th and 15. Great job defense!

  • willbest

    fuck

    • BearDown100393

      That was stupid.

  • BearDown100393

This is going back. Flag for holding.

  • Scharfinator

Whoever the idiot that held was. Cut them. I can hold sneakier than that.

    • BearDown100393

      LaRoy Reynolds

  • BearDown100393

Does Bennett ever pay attention to the 1st down marker? Or was he supposed to plant and fall short?

  • Irish Sweetness

Why does Bennett stop before the line of scrimmage? It’s third down!

    • willbest

Bellamy needs to make that catch for the TD

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

      Bennett sucks donkey balls

      • Bender McLugh

        So done with him

    • BearDown100393

Good question. Glad I wasn’t alone on it.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Bears. Still drunk from last night.
    #PussyjuiceOnDick

  • willbest

So is Gould intentionally bad on kickoffs, or is it the ST coordinators desire to give the opponents better field position than the 20?

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Barring a complete meltdown. Book it boys

    • BearDown100393

      That’s what Lions fans said.

      • willbest

Ugh… stop bringing that up I am trying to forget what could have been.

        • BearDown100393

          Sorry!

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

  • BearDown100393

49ers O-line getting completely annihilated by Fangio.

    • Irish Sweetness

He’s not on the field. I saw Kyle Fuller and Willie Young !

      • BearDown100393

His beast spirit is on the field…

  • madscout12

So nice to have a defense.

    • BearDown100393

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Sf lacks playmakers. But who cares? 50-7

  • Bender McLugh

I spy a defense that is fired UP. Haven’t seen the D start a game like this in some time.

  • Irish Sweetness

The ‘flop sack’. Invented by Willie Young.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

    • BearDown100393

      And pine tar.

    • SC Dave

      Days upon days

      • Huge Bear’s Penis

i want him to spend so much time with it that his girlfriend/wife gets jealous

  • BearDown100393

No Moose, the ball was already out of his hands before he turned his head.

    • willbest

      That makes it worse.

      • BearDown100393

        Yep.

  • FantuzPhysics

    Langford isn’t Forte…he can’t catch just yet

    • Irish Sweetness

He’s a rookie. Rookie mistake. He’s made some sick catches.

  • Pissed Off

Get that idiot a jugs machine. This is just as much on Fox and gase for being stupid enough to use him on passing plays

    • Scharfinator

Didn’t you quit? Or was that four feathers?

      • Huge Bear’s Penis

before we started i was hoping it was both

  • Pissed Off

Glad we have a great defense in rare form today

  • willbest

Offense needs to come through with a TD here

  • SC Dave

  • BearDown100393

This NFL broadcast brought to you today by Concussion! Starring Will Smith.

  • SC Dave

    Go Jay!!

  • BearDown100393

Uh can we just take that page out of the playbook already?

    • willbest

Yeah, its almost been picked off twice already.

    • Bender McLugh

      The page is titled “Dickaround”

  • Pissed Off

Will the real Jay Cutler please stand up please stand up

    • Irish Sweetness

The 30 yard completion after it = the real Jay Cutler.

  • FantuzPhysics

    Well that was terrible

  • Irish Sweetness

Well, at least the pick-6 part is over …. didn’t we want to draft that dude?

    • SC Dave

We hope. At least the xp was fucked up

  • Irish Sweetness

XP Failure. No good. Thanks for playing. Kein Schiessen. Guten tag. Auf Wiedersehn!

  • BearDown100393

Michael Moore lookalike on the Bears sideline…..

  • Pissed Off

    Keep laughing and smiling jay

  • Snoopy Peanuts

Bellamy was supposed to take out 25 for the screen….he did nothing….just stood there

  • BearDown100393

Hell of a catch by Alshon but I think that flip screwed up his leg.

  • willbest

Forte looking to get paid next year

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

    wow! Forte found some youth.

    • EnderWiggin

Maybe the word you are looking for is…. competition.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Rocking baby.

  • madscout12

Wow…that was all on Forte’s legs. Damn

  • BearDown100393

    Forte overpowered that line.

    • Irish Sweetness

Um … Kyle Long I think. He was using Forte as a battering ram

      • Bender McLugh

        Spinning power

  • Pissed Off

    Fuck yeah forte….hard running.

  • Bender McLugh

2nd best running back in Bears history. Love when he’s healthy

    • Irish Sweetness

      That’s a joke, right?

      • Bender McLugh

Probably…….but no, I just love Matty man

    • CanadaBear

Apparently you never saw Gale live. Gale was a better runner than Walter. Walter was a better all-round back.

      • Scharfinator

Do we consider career length a stat? Gale was a bit of a quick lived flame wasn’t he?

        • CanadaBear

Absolutely he was. Mostly due to less than stellar medical care provided by the Bears. He was like Hester and Barry Sanders in one player until he got injured. After the injury he came back and reached 1000 yds without a run longer than 28 yds. He did it on heart and determination because the electricity was gone. He realized that and pulled the plug. If you think I’m exaggerating with the Hester/Sanders mashup, check his stats pre injury. http://www.nfl.com/player/galesayers/2524970/careerstats

      • Bender McLugh

I did see him, in my diapers suckling my neighbors mom’s big ol boobies. Mmmmmmmmmderp good times

    • BearDown100393

      Curtis Enis… Rashaan Salaam… A-Train

      • Bender McLugh

No no and no jeezus seriously?

  • madscout12

One more TD and this game is out of reach for San Fran.

    • BearDown100393

      assuming no more pic-6s

    • willbest

Huh? They are averaging 6 points a quarter.

      • madscout12

On the year or in some timebox you chose? They average 13.8 ppg on the year.

        • willbest

          This game

  • BearDown100393

“he’s more athletic” – Something to say when nothing else positive about a quarterback’s ability to play.

    • willbest

They say that a bunch about Cutler

      • BearDown100393

        Mobility!

  • BearDown100393

Zale dude proposes to Wendy’s chick. Don’t caarreeee……

  • willbest

    Our D-line needs some upgrades.

  • BearDown100393

Linebackers shift right. Completion goes left. Awesome.

  • Pissed Off

    Should be 13 to 7

    • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

I know you’re a veteran of this blog but please know that you fucking suck man.

  • BillW

Ok. Packer game hangover. Someone needs to spark up the defense. I expect them to get chewed out at halftime and be fired up after that

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

    Bears 24. 9Ers who cares

  • MB30SD

D getting rolled. Our linebackers are turrible

    • FourFeathers

Talent on defense needs to be built and upgraded. We all understand that.

      • MB30SD

        Thanks coach

        • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

It’s almost like he actually played. Aside from monopoly

  • Pissed Off

    Actually caught it

  • willbest

If you want 12+ million a year you gotta catch those

  • BearDown100393

Really nice special teams work by McManis. Position and timing was perfect.

  • Pissed Off

Could have at least tried to catch with 2 hands but I sure alshon was more concerned with breaking his fall than catching the ball. C’mon d

  • FourFeathers

Bears need to play clean football for a chance to win games. This has been anything but and Cutler hasn’t been sharp.

    • BearDown100393

His brother in law went back to the wild.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Bye Navorro ….

    • MB30SD

      We’ll take him!

  • BearDown100393

“Undergoing concussion protocol” sounds so much better to lawyers than simply saying, “follow my finger”

  • willbest

And San Fran exposes our defense…

    • Irish Sweetness

The 28th run defense in the league?

      Didn’t we cut Draughn?

      • willbest

He was here during the Testman era

      • Johnnywad

Yes. But he would never see the field in Chicago.

      • willbest

If I recall he fumbled a KO return that got returned for a TD and was cut the following week.

    • FourFeathers

With our talent level as it is every game is going to be tight. Or a blowout not in our favor.

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

    got lucky there

    • willbest

Why would a bear player touch that.

      • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

Because once the other team touches it it doesn’t matter

    • EnderWiggin

Holy heart attack, like 3 times in one play.

    • FourFeathers

Hate to say this but the refs screwed that up.

      • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

        No

        • FourFeathers

That is not a touch back.

          • willbest

Where did you see the 49ers get control?

          • FourFeathers

            I stand corrected

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

            Ur worse than cheese

          • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

yes it is , they kicked it around back into the endzone after we played a touch by the 9ers. jesus guys.

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Yonny, reserve that Irish blood for true love, like bears, booze

          • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

even if they don’t respond some of these guys have to be shown their poop on the floor, have their noses put into it in the hopes that they don’t poop on the floor again in the future.

          • Johnnywad

Tradewind makes the Irish blood what it is.

  • FourFeathers

We just dodged a bullet. Not playing clean football today.

    • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

      No bullet dodged

  • Pissed Off

    Cue the circus music

    • EnderWiggin

Its like the Benny Hill cast in clown cars out there.

    • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

      learn the fucking rules

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

It’s a touchback. Smart play by bears

    • FourFeathers

      Smart? They dodged a bullet.

      • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

If the bears don’t touch it and just let them recover we would have had ball on the 1

    • EnderWiggin

I see lucky, not necessarily smart. Where is the smart?

      • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

if bears just let 9ers touch it down we get the ball on the 2. By trying to play it and causing them to kick it around and into the endzone it ended up being a touchback. there is no harm in trying to play the ball there.

        • EnderWiggin

          Thumbs high, Harry.

  • BearDown100393

    Dumb challenge.

  • Irish Sweetness

Gase needs to accept that they’re kicking our OL’s ass.

    • FourFeathers

Would you like Gase to suit up? What is rhe beef with him?

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

The Fourth feather is just a foil, a literary device to get more clicks. Ignore accordingly

  • Irish Sweetness

    AJ playing today?

    • willbest

      1 for 30

      • BearDown100393

And a drop afterward. That’s about it.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

      What time is it?

  • Pissed Off

Anyone else love that quick hit screen pass to forte. We could run that several times a game

  • Irish Sweetness

    Minny getting a backstreet beatdown.

    • willbest

Its not horrible, but I would rather they win for our playoff chances.

    • Johnnywad

Clearly not holding up their end of the deal. I had Lions, Vikings, Bucs and Bears all down as wins. You have balls of steel betting on this league.

  • BearDown100393

“live on sacred ground” as he stands on a ship anchored in water…. FOX

  • Irish Sweetness

    Not enough to overturn.

    • BearDown100393

We have to await FanDuel’s determination.

  • willbest

    This shouldn’t be overturned.

  • Irish Sweetness

Cutler is money in hurry up.

  • Irish Sweetness

So next year we have :

    1. Kevin
    2. Eddie?
    3. Meredith/Bellamy
    4. Wilson

Do we draft a guy? I think we draft a guy.

    • T’Challa

I would pay Jeffery. Have to many other holes to draft another WR.

    • EnderWiggin

I think we pay Jeffery. We have the funds to match anyone’s offer.

  • madscout12

Does Jeffery make any contested catches anymore? I thought he was supposed to be a big WR with great hands.

    • willbest

Other than him having possession taking 2 steps and then a knee… I don’t know what more you want

      • madscout12

Yeah, but there have been like 2 other throws that have hit him in the hands THIS GAME, and he has dropped them.

Iffy call, but it is an iffy rule. Hold onto the damn ball.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

He’s good. Trust me. Just always hurt

      • madscout12

Pretty much. He better not want top $ cause he shouldn’t get it.

          Freemarket

          • madscout12

With a salary cap, limited amount of buyers, regulated negotiating terms…but yeah, freemarket

  • Irish Sweetness

This would be a great time to blitz, but only the Pats blitz less than us.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

I almost likr watching bears fan squirm . Believe bitches! Evan?

San Fran playing to not lose.

    • FourFeathers

Which is rhe right approach when you are an awful team on paper.

      • Scharfinator

        Didn’t you quit?

        • Huge Bear’s Penis

he is trying to play not to lose.

  • RenoBear

Btw… Tomsula looks like a freakin tool. A yes man if there ever was one. The niners will be destroyed in the 2nd half

    • Johnnywad

He is the definition of “Mouth Breather”.

  • FourFeathers

We are rebuilding and our talent isn’t great. Our strategy for winning right now is to play clean football and keep it close. Even against a truly bad team like the 49ers. Got to play better in the 2nd half to win this game.

    • BearDown100393

      – Marc Trestman

  • willbest

Giants winning today helps us out. If they stay in the division race they will fight like hell against Minny

    • Bender McLugh

Minny seems to be fighting like hell against themselves

  • Doc Nitty

Checkin in at the half. Feels like we’re on the verge of opening this up. Anything less than total second half domination is totally unacceptable.

    Bear Down.

    • willbest

You forget the Bears don’t play 3rd quarter football.

      • Doc Nitty

        Unacceptable

      • Scharfinator

They do play 4th Q though.

  • Bender McLugh

    Just stay down Martelus

  • Pissed Off

  • Bender McLugh

    • BearDown100393

  • FourFeathers

    • madscout12

Not talent wise, but between the ears, yes

  • Irish Sweetness

Matty should be backing up Langford.

  • willbest

Langford can apparently shrink down to mouse size

    • madscout12

That’s what happens when you hit a hole and don’t dance at the line.

  • SC Dave

Kinda glad I’m not watching the rest. Kinda hating I’m not watching, the rest.

    Bear down!

  • Pissed Off

    C’mon gase

    • FourFeathers

What has Gase done wrong here?!?

      • willbest

He ran with forte on 3rd down.

  • Irish Sweetness

And we took Langford out because …?

    • willbest

It wasn’t the taking Langford out that bothers me it was then running the Langford plays with forte.

      • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

Maybe take that opportunity to execute the read option so cutty could run or throw. Went to the well one.too many times

    • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

      He was tired.

  • EnderWiggin

I think I would have let Langford finish this drive.

    • willbest

You put up 5 runs in a row and you get tired.

      • FourFeathers

        Yep

      • Irish Sweetness

        Tell that to Walter Payton.

    • Pissed Off

Take those 2 runs with gaping holes chris farley could have run through and Langford has done squat all day. He was just lucky to be the rb in on those plays

  • Irish Sweetness

    Fuck that Robbie.

    • Snoopy Peanuts

bad hold…..hand was half way down the ball

  • Pissed Off

    Awesome

  • willbest

Gould is clearly on the decline.

    • FourFeathers

Snap and hold was messed up

      • willbest

Then he should have picked it up and run it for the 2 yards.

  • Bender McLugh

    Underwhelming

  • Bender McLugh

    Missed FG? Cutty pick 6?

    DON’T CARE.

    BEAR DOWN MOTHERFUCKERS

  • chitownproud85

Glad all the homers are getting the reality check they needed – the hype around the 5-6 team was getting absurd. That being said, they better not piss this away against a turrrrrrible, and I mean TURRIBLE 40Whiners team. Get it together, boys. Finish the goddamn job.

    • FourFeathers

Talent would say we are a 5-6’win team. We have very strong coaching but the talent isn’t there yet.

      • chitownproud85

Reality says we are a 5-6 team because our record is 5-6

        • Scharfinator

          lol such sage wisdom! 🙂

    • Irish Sweetness

      That’s a solid defense. Today.

    • Johnnywad

Yes. We know. Nothing would make you happier than the Bears missing the playoffs so you can be right in assuming they suck and hoping they don’t get in. “Glad” indeed.

      • chitownproud85

Sigh. This is cheap. How is “lets keep a level head” any better or worse than “OMGZ SUPERBOWLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL”. Cmon man. I’m a life long and a die hard – playoffs would be glorious. Its just getting silly that we dont worry about getting to .500 first. If that makes me negative or whatever, so fucking be it. Thats just stupid.

        • Johnnywad

Bullshit. The biggest thing anybody on the blog has hoped for is a slim chance at sliding into the sixth seed. Nobody has said shit about the Super Bowl. Nobody.

You just fucking said you’re glad the “homers” (fans) are getting a reality check. In essence, you’re glad the Bears aren’t winning so you get a shot at being right. That’s how I read it.

          • chitownproud85

I’m a fan. Why would I not want the Bears to win?

          • Johnnywad

Beats the hell out of me.

          • chitownproud85

Now you are on to something!

        • Huge Bear’s Penis

its not being level headed when you are “Glad” to bring down fans.

          • chitownproud85

I’m a fan, so this statement does not compute.

          • Huge Bear’s Penis

what does not compute is any fan saying “Glad all the homers are getting the reality check they needed”? no one expects a SB team, but a slim hope of the playoffs is nice.

          • chitownproud85

Yes, it beats the hell out of being done by Thanksgiving. Could not agree more.

    • chitownproud85

First person to come in with some weak ass “quit being negative blargh blargh” nonsense is a shithead. If you have bothered to read any other words Ive said over the course of this year you know goddamn well I want it just as bad as you do – I just prefer they earn something first.

      • BearDown100393

I’ve been called worse. So go ahead Mr. Negative.

        • chitownproud85

          <3

  • Irish Sweetness

Shit, it’s the third quarter ….

    • willbest

At least we are getting better at pissing away 15 minutes without anything happening on either side.

  • Pissed Off

Forte must be so bad theyd rather have cutty run

  • willbest

I like how we found a safety this year.

    • chitownproud85

Hes a beast. Kids got moxie. What a relief, too.

  • Pissed Off

I like the way the game felt better before that pick 6

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

    Relax , win, beer. Bj

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

      Not in ? That order

  • willbest

Alright. 2 TDs. Get it done.

  • FantuzPhysics

This game shouldn’t be this close…but I know this team isn’t quitting…coaches could draw up some better plays tho

    • FourFeathers

Ah yes, the ole coaches need to draw up better plays conclusion. Facepalm.

      • chitownproud85

        Anyone have a whiteboard handy?

  • Irish Sweetness

Wow, Goldmember stepping it up today. Jay will be money on this drive. Game over.

    • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

      1 yr on first downs
      Penalties on 2nd
      A pattern

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

Can’t get 1 on first down all the time

  • Irish Sweetness

The two liabilities on our OL might just have cost us the game.

    • FourFeathers

We need a OG in the offseason.

  • Pissed Off

Guess we need the d to score

  • willbest

    Dammit Jeffery… run faster.

  • BearDown100393

Alshon let up on 2 strides.

    • FourFeathers

He probably has another soft tissue injury. Most frustrating diva on this team.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Jay. Oh Jay.

  • willbest

You all down thread need to stop feeding the troll.

  • Scharfinator

What a boring game. I can’t tell which team wants to lose more.

    • chitownproud85

Home games man. I dont know what the hell the deal is, but at home they just…sputter. 60 minutes of wet fart noise.

      • chitownproud85

…and when the hell did we reach the point that I started to breathe easier when our defense is on the field instead of the O. WHAT IS HAPPENING

  • Johnnywad

Blaine Gabbert = White Teddy Bridgewater

  • FourFeathers

Say what you want but this is an overachieving Chicago defense. Our talent is just not that good.

    • willbest

They are playing a crappy offense.

      • FourFeathers

Our talent level is not very good.

      • chitownproud85

It’s pretty incredible that they can play this way, period, after the last few years. 40whiners are turrible, but this defense has shown some moxie for the majority of the season now. Coaching! Oh, and Amos. <3Amos<3

    • madscout12

Good teams with good coaches get good play out of “Just guys” all the time. We have a lot of “just guys” and we’re getting good play out of them

  • Pissed Off

Well this d is giving our offense every chance to do something

  • Irish Sweetness

16-13 victory. That’s how we roll. Oldskool.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Somebody’s feeding …..

  • willbest

This will put a stop to the nonsense where the Bears should ever be favored by a TD

    • Irish Sweetness

Said it was a bad bet this week. Lots of juicier matchups.

    • chitownproud85

      Yarp.

  • Pissed Off

    What the fuck jay

  • madscout12

Can I get a hold call please?

  • Irish Sweetness

Fuck it Gase, stop that shit and unleash Cutty.

  • BearDown100393

    No flag?

  • Irish Sweetness

Out of the game. Fales time.

  • Pissed Off

Maybe that will wake his dumb ass up

    • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

it’s like you don’t even watch the games. You are the worst kind of fan.

      • RenoBear

A BILLION up votes for you, good sir

  • Shady

    That looked ugly.

  • chitownproud85

    Defense, your table is set.

  • FourFeathers

    Somebody wins 16-13.

  • willbest

Yet Rodgers gets a phantom face mask

  • BearDown100393

“unaffiliated neuro-trauma consultant” – Moose being spoon fed the liability reducing script from the liable conscious NFL.

  • RenoBear

Damn that was a helluva slam on cutler… Glad he got up

  • Pissed Off

Sure would be nice to get that elusive 2nd win at home here in week 13

  • Irish Sweetness

Somebody pay off the docs. We need him in three minutes.

    • BearDown100393

      Go call Will Smith.

  • RenoBear

How the hell wasn’t that called

    • BearDown100393

      FanDuel

    • willbest

Cause he isn’t a protected QB

      • RenoBear

Unfortunately, this. He’s not one of the holy trinity

  • Irish Sweetness

    Thank God Gabbert is shite.

  • willbest

Good somebody brought cash for the doctor. A lot of teams try to pass off a check in that situation.

  • Shady

Jay probably shouldn’t be playing football right now…

    • Irish Sweetness

      Tell that to Jim McMahon.

      • Shady

Different era. We know better now. Just look at Jim, you don’t think he has some regrets?

  • Irish Sweetness

    CUTTTY !!!

  • Pissed Off

I hope cutty isn’t just being a tough guy here and ends up being dazed and does something stupid

    • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

who cares what you fucking think and hope for

      • madscout12

Yes, yes…dash his hopes and dreams

    • BearDown100393

Right, because if he sat and Fales played, he’d be blamed for not being the tough guy.

      • Irish Sweetness

Never hear the end of it.

    • Irish Sweetness

Oh that ….. well, we’ll see. I smell a TD.

      • EnderWiggin

        Mr. 4th Quarter time.

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

someone should check the announcer for a concussion. comparing Forte to Sayers, SMH

    • Irish Sweetness

Matty was called the second best Bear RB of all time on this board this very day.

      • Huge Bear’s Penis

i know, i decided to ignore that

  • Pissed Off

    Hebcaufht it

  • Irish Sweetness

    Alshon’s redemption.

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

    Unrein time!

    • Shady

      Love that fucking play

  • chitownproud85

    PUNCH. IT. IN.

    • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

      Yes

  • madscout12

    No call? WTF

  • Pissed Off

    Boom

  • Pissed Off

    Nice hard run carey

  • willbest

Another game where the Bears are out numbered 2 to 1

  • chitownproud85

    BEAST

  • Shady

Nice way to get your first NFL TD, running over Navarro Bowman.

  • Irish Sweetness

    1. Mitch Unrein is my second favorite Bear.

    2. You drunken naysayers can log off now.

  • madscout12

    Bad snap there.

  • BearDown100393

Well there you go, Statler and Waldorf. The talentless Bears scored a touchdown. Let out the hate. How could those dumb fans cheer for such a crappy team? Cutler’s dumb ass must have woken up? And the talentless Carey got a touchdown. Oh the horror. Oh the inhumanity.

    • Johnnywad

      BOOM!!!!

  • Bender McLugh

Congrats Carey on your first rushing TD

  • FantuzPhysics

That was a different play. KaDeem!

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

    Britches gonna bitch

  • Irish Sweetness

    Job done.

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

No one sees this? The 9ers are on vacation

    • Johnnywad

Oooh. What did they have Butch?

      • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Gould must have mob debts, I’ll get back to u on that

  • chitownproud85

Work to be done. LETS GO

  • Shady

Bellamy has heart, but he has had some bad penalties today.

    • chitownproud85

Agreed. Dude is laying it out there – shit happens

  • Johnnywad

Wilie Young underhand flippin docks today

    • Irish Sweetness

      Beating a 4x PBer.

      • BearDown100393

        Like AP holding a switch

      • Johnnywad

        Willie gets to stay

  • BearDown100393

What happened now? A turrible, talentless no good defense sacked Gabbert. Why bother?

    • Huge Bear’s Penis

yes that turrible talentless defense couldn’t even keep the Packers from scoring a go ahead TD last week. oh wait…

  • Irish Sweetness

We have 3 timeouts, so even if they score soon …

    Goldmember time.

  • willbest

Alright D, you have kept them to 7. Hold the line there.

  • Shady

    smfh

  • willbest

    Jeebus

  • Pissed Off

    Really??

  • madscout12

WTF…gotta be a hold somewhere. Nope. Unfuckinbelievable

  • Irish Sweetness

    This is good.

    CUTTY TIME AGAIN !!!!

    • Shady

1:30 with a 3 TOs? Should be plenty of time to get Gould into range.

  • RenoBear

That. Was. FUCKING. GROSS!!!!!!! Fuck ALL that shit

  • Pissed Off

Can’t lose to the niners at home can’t happen

    • willbest

Well it can, and it would end the season. But Jay and Gould got this.

  • Scharfinator

After Gabbert breaks through the line 2 plays in a row, we have a chance to talk to our D.

Vic decides not to mention it, and they do it again for a TD. WTF?

  • FourFeathers

Rolle just showed why he is fully washed up.

    • Scharfinator

He was to busy washing up your mom last night.

    • chitownproud85

I lol’d at this. I’m sure it will ruffle some “feathers”

    • RenoBear

You are a fucking idiot dude

    • Huge Bear’s Penis

undrafted free agent rookie washed up?? you are a fucking idiot.

    • Shady

      Washed up? He’s a rook.

    • chitownproud85

Hes kidding folks. Hes kidding. Foot off the gas.

      • Huge Bear’s Penis

not sure about that he says a lot of stupid ass shit.

        • BearDown100393

          lack of talent?

        • chitownproud85

          Cmon now.

    • BearDown100393

A washed up 22 year old rookie? Wow.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Don’t feed it.

  • FantuzPhysics

    I’m rooting for you Jay

  • Shady

    Mariani who?

  • willbest

Wait do we really need to attribute this win to ST?

  • RenoBear

    Hell mother fuvkin yeah!!!!

  • madscout12

    Wow. Now I’ve seen everything

  • Irish Sweetness

And there’s our other RB ….

  • willbest

Knowing Fox this is 3 runs and a Fg

    • madscout12

Just give us one first down

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

can’t get 1 on first down

  • Johnnywad

God damn this team is fun

    • EnderWiggin

      Sundays are fundays again.

      • chitownproud85

My booze budget is getting absurd. I’d be ok if they wanted to beat a few teams prior to the final whistle.

      • Johnnywad

        Hell yes

  • chitownproud85

    That’ll do, pig. That’ll do.

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

    can’t get 0 on 2nd.

    • willbest

You can when you are trusting your D to put a stop that O with no TOs and 75 seconds

      • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

        after a 50yd FG attempt?

  • Pissed Off

Need a little screen play here

  • Irish Sweetness

And Robbie just missed a 40 yarder …

  • willbest

Carey you glorious bastard save Fox’s ass

  • Pissed Off

Carey is our hardest running north and south back

    • Irish Sweetness

      Senorise Perry?

      • Pissed Off

        Senorise light?

  • chitownproud85

    Anal leakage.

  • Irish Sweetness

If you kick a FG on 3rd down, and miss, you should be allowed to kick again. You can’t but you should be able to. Yay or nay?

    • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

      stop the weed.

    • Johnnywad

Only if it’s the Bears. Founding franchise perk

    • chitownproud85

Same as throwing out the back of the endzone…right? Right?

  • Scharfinator

So dumb we did not call that 2nd time out with 10 seconds left. That way we can fall on a shit snap or whatever.

    • willbest

What would that have gotten us?

      • Scharfinator

If you fumble or flub the snap, you fall on it and call your last TO. Then you line up again on 4th and get a better snap. I was saying this before we shanked it.

        • willbest

But if you shank it you give them the ball and time

          • Scharfinator

Sure. So you think that SF could have done something with 5 seconds left at their own 30?

I have a bridge in NY I’d like to sell you…

  • willbest

    Fucking gould

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

    haha, no.

  • Shady

    What the fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • Shady

    He’s throwing the game.

    • EnderWiggin

      Kickers play fantasy too.

  • Pissed Off

    Cut him

  • madscout12

    Fuck you, robbie

  • Pissed Off

    Classic Robbie….vintage bears

  • BearDown100393

    Dammit Finkle.

    • Shady

      Laces out Marino!

  • Irish Sweetness

Is it this new long snapper? I knew he’d missed before it was snapped. That was all Robbie.

  • RenoBear

Eat a fuckin bag of dicks Robbie

    • Irish Sweetness

A slimy, putrid, decaying bag ….

      • RenoBear

        HA!!!

  • Scharfinator

So when does age become a thing for kickers? He’s been so uncharacteristically bad this year.

    • willbest

No he has been bad for 2.5 years

  • Irish Sweetness

We’re drafting a kicker. Oh yes.

    • Johnnywad

If we draft a kicker I’m personally kicking Pace in the nuts

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

is moose trying to justify this somehow?

  • chitownproud85

    Dude.

  • RenoBear

Fucking Robbie get out of your fucking head. You fucking IDIOT

  • willbest

I want the kicker minivan at Halas Hall on Tuesday.

  • Pissed Off

This is happening it cannot yet it is

  • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

50yds i can definitely understand on this shitty field. 30 something i cannot.

    • Irish Sweetness

      It was a total shank.

  • Doc Nitty

    Unacceptable

  • Irish Sweetness

That’s what we get for playing for FGs.

  • Irish Sweetness

At least we know we’re not going for a FG.

  • willbest

Just fucking great. Give them momentum

  • BearDown100393

    Defense gets this ball back.

  • Pissed Off

And I though sf would just take the ot kick for a td

  • willbest

Alright Jay you do this. Make sure Fox doesn’t put this in Gould’s foot again

  • Pissed Off

    Need a miracle here

  • Shady

    oh corey lemonades.

  • willbest

Ouch. Need a 60 yard boot here

    • RenoBear

You KNEW pat O’donnell wasn’t giving us that…. He’s fucking terrible

      • willbest

        But he did.

        • RenoBear

Brain freeze, I commented after the fact. Yes… I believe that was his only good punt of the year… I know he has less than 5

          • CanadaBear

When you most need a big one is when you are least likely to get one from POD. Maybe this will be a turning point (not that I really believe that).

  • Pissed Off

    That was a huge kick

  • willbest

    Nice got him running backwards

  • willbest

    Fuck robbie

  • Shady

Well, the bears are bad news again.

  • Irish Sweetness

Vic Fangio does not blitz. All. Fucking. Day.

  • Bender McLugh

So Robbie can’t survive being cut at the end of the season.

    • Pissed Off

End the season. End of the day

  • Huge Bear’s Penis

    well that sucked

  • Shady

Lost to fucking Jim Tom and Gabbert. smfh

  • willbest

And that was the last relevant December football game of the season.

    • Johnnywad

      Yep. Fuck

  • Scharfinator

…… lose out for picks? Including a K? I love Gould, but he’s… falling apart?

    • willbest

He has been on decline since 2 years ago when he couldn’t kick a 40 yarder to win it against Minny

    • willbest

No we fuck up the Vikings, Tampa, and Skins seasons just because.

      • Pissed Off

Like we are going to win all those

    • Johnnywad

Robbie was good for a decade as an undrafted rook. No need to waste a pick on a kicker.

      • SC Dave

        Better than good.

  • Doc Nitty

    Jeebus. Shake my fucking head.

  • RenoBear

That was just fucking nasty fucking gross

  • The GP

    Gabba-Gabba-hey

  • The GP

    Jeffo:

Bears were awful today. Deserved to lose. But Robbie Gould shanking two kicks, including a chip shot, may be an issue.

    Ya think?

    • BearDown100393

If you score more points than the other team, you win – John Madden

    • willbest

      *snort* may…

  • Johnnywad

That pretty well tears it. No way in hell I’d let Kevin White see the field this year at this point.

    • willbest

Yeah shut him down. Let him get fully healthy.

      • Johnnywad

I’d think about sitting down McPhee too. He’s obviously playing on a bad wheel.

        • The GP

          obviously

    • Shady

The decision to play or not play Kevin White should have nothing to do with how well the Bears are playing. Either he’s healthy enough to play or he’s not.

      • Johnnywad

I disagree Shady. I don’t think it’s quite that black and white. Lots of guys play when listed as questionable depending on season and injury circumstance. Given it’s steel implanted in a shin bone, and looking at games of little consequence, I’d wait til next year.

        • Shady

If he’s healthy enough to play, he should play.

          • Johnnywad

            K. I vote he’s not.

          • Shady

That’s my point, his health shouldn’t be up to a vote influenced by how the Bears are playing.

          • Huge Bear’s Penis

i am with you Shady, if he is healthy and the medical staff give him clearance, get him out there at least for a little experience.

          • Johnnywad

My daughter just rolled her eyes at you.

          • Shady

I’ll get some icewater for that burn now.

          • Johnnywad

            Oh its powerful stuff

  • Irish Sweetness

Robbie’s on crack and he owes his bookie.

  • Irish Sweetness

    Just. Fuck me.

  • willbest

Lets see some Fales at some point. Let him play a 3rd quarter or two, we aren’t doing anything with those anyway.

    • Irish Sweetness

Nice one. Fales plays in the third. He can’t do any worse than one score in a year.

    • Pissed Off

I agree draft picks are more important now that we know the team can’t make the playoffs

      • willbest

We have won too many games to be concerned about where we are drafting. But I would like to know what we have at backup QB.

        • Pissed Off

I’m not sure we can have it both ways I’m fine looking at fales but doing so throws the towel in on the season. Unless we wait until the last couple of games if we are eliminated from the playoff pic

  • Irish Sweetness

I’d cut him now. Two chip shots? Fuck that.

    • willbest

At the very least, there should be kickers trying out this week.

  • The GP

Waffle would love the Score talk right now: you got guys blaming this thing on Cutler.

Christ, Chicago fans are stupid. Actually I think the Score just cherry picks the dumbest callers.

    • willbest

Why would you listen to the score after a loss? Do you hate yourself?

      • The GP

Olin and Big Cat have good things to say. Hub is schlub, and the callers all suck – but Olin esp. keepin it real

  • The GP

I’d like to award Bennett the “I showed up for my paycheck, but clearly I don’t give a fuck” award.

    • DaMurph

So much talent, but way more asshole than talent!

    • BearDown100393

*That moment when the whole “I sold my soul to the devil to make sure we beat the Packers on Thanksgiving” thing seems really unfair.*

  • willbest

I think Cutler had about 4 bad throws. 1 was unfortunately a pick 6 and he also made the bad decision to audible there. I have no idea how many other audibles he mucked up, but anybody blaming Cutler for this is a moron. The return team did an amazing job. The Defense and ST FG defense unit held the 49ers to 7 points in regulation. So its not on them. The decision to run Forte when Langford and Carey are the better runners is on the coach. The blocking penalties are on the line and receivers, same with dropped passes. And of course the zebras should have extended a drive on a blatant PI that was never called. But really, if you miss 2 FGs from 40 yards… that’s whose fault it is.

    • Trac

It’s time to go new guard. Next year, this will be a good team. Forte won’t be here imo.

  • willbest

In other news… Carolina needs to stop messing around.

  • Pissed Off

At least I’ve become immune to these type oflosses and without booze even! This terrible team will hurt me no more. Too bad my son is hurting and it’s not fair to him. About to let him choose another team to cheer for….

    • BillW

They are not terrible. Terrible teams couldn’t beat gb in gb

They however did play a terrible game

      • Pissed Off

Its just little things and at the end of the day robbie hits a little fg and all is forgiven and we are sleeping with playoff thoughts on our head. Although the offense seems to have been lacking in scoring the last few games

    • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

wait, you behave like this and you’re fucking sober when you do it? You are that big of a bitch ass punk without even being blacked out?

        • BillW

I hate when the Bears lose. For several reasons

          • Pissed Off

One being I hate when the bears lose

        • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

Please don’t make me start pulling up your posts bro. It would be embarassing. I’d do you a favor and just pull up 1 game……but it would be the Green Bay game and we all know how you conducted yourself during that one champ.
I can only go by the way you post here but I seriously hope you don’t act like this in real life….i mean typing it is one thing but imagine if you actually said this shit out loud at your house in front of your family.

It would be like Bears domestic terrorism. You’d be creating a whole new generation of meatdouches.

          • Huge Bear’s Penis

totally agree, if i had to watch a game in person with him, i am pretty sure i would knock his ass out about 3 minutes into the 1st quarter.

          • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

Naw, i’d just leave the room like i did for Green Bay and this game. I get frustrated like everyone else but to watch Yahoo comment board, Bears Facebook-esque posting going on in real time is fucking crazy.

If he was even close to being right about the critique it would be one thing but ……

It just sucks knowing that guys like that actually consider themselves students of the game and “longtime” fans. Haha, no one is worse than a longtime Bears fan.

          • BillW

I hope you meant quote longtime fan and not actual long time fan. Many of us on this board really are longtime fans

          • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

ha, i meant guys that bitch, moan, complain all the while not recognizing or acknowledging anything besides their agenda, who they call out, etc and use the, “hey i’m a die hard, long time fan”. it’s annoying.

          • BillW

            No doubt

          • Cutty of Olivet Nazarene

i get it though, i understand the pain of wanting the guys to do well and being frustrated when it doesn’t always go our way. But EVERY SINGLE TIME without fail if something is not perfect there is some sort of fucking barrage.

          • BillW

It can be tough but sometimes all it takes is a deep breath (maybe literally) and stepping back and seeing the big picture

I mean really – while we were happy there was and would continue to be meaningful games, no one EXPECTED the Bears to run the table. . Hope, yes. Believe it possible? Sure. Expect? Of course not. More work to do and this wasn’t a setback as much as a confirmation of what real longterm fans already knew

          • CanadaBear

I’m 63, 5’2″ with bad knees. I’d have to waddle away.

          • Huge Bear’s Penis

you got a cane, or a walking stick? blind side his ass.

          • Pissed Off

Its just here. I’m overly passionate and expect perfection I guess which I probably shouldn’t do. Its just that we are in all of the these games and I want to win so bad. If the bears are gonna lose id rather have them get blown out than have a game like today. I just post about every little screw up during the games which when they all pile up are equalling losses.

      • RenoBear

Says Pissed Off, who only shows up on game day to piss and moan.. And make us wonder a) if you are watching the same game half the time, and b) why you even bother watching at all

  • BillW

I bet this thread is brutal. Maybe I will read through it tonight

One thing I’m not doing is watching any football except for the Bears. Officiating is too arbitrary

It jumped the shark for me at the Non call on Jay slam.

    • willbest

Well there were a couple trolls, but nobody really thought we were done for until Robbie staked us a second time.

    • Pissed Off

I have to watch other games to get the horrible bears taste out of my mouth

    • SC Dave

      Brutal is a brutal understatement.

  • BillW

And I do hope we see a kicker or two on try out Tuesday

And another point. Obviously this was as I feared a trap game. Says something somewhere they could barely tread water

One win at home? Again there is something to that I now think. Don’t know what and speculating right now is too negative. But mental preparation may be an issue

That is often part of the growing pains. I though we’d have a signature win and also thought we could lay an egg after it

    Part of the process

Going to the game next week. Probably the last time I’ll see Forte as a bear in person. A bit sad

And probably last time seeing Bennett as a bear in person. Meh

    • willbest

You aren’t going to brave the tundra in week 17?

        I’m an old man.

It’s my boys who buy the tix now though still in my name
. They take the old man to a game each. Saw Mn and now Washington

We will be underdogs agsin. Maybe a good thing

My God they were flat today!

        • WP4Life

Still hang over from Thanksgiving Superbowl?

          • willbest

Realistically that was going to be the best moment of the season. But it would have been nice to have been relevant until Christmas.

    • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

I think the offense came out flat because the play calling was too conservative. Coaching not to lose from the start instead of going for the early kill.

The defense started out great, but had one bizarre drive in the 2nd quarter where they were not on the same page. Then they sucked late in the game, for whatever reason.

  • BillW

I make fun of Jay and his no talent star wife. A lot especially for their anti vax views

But I just read her brother has been missing since thanksgiving weekend

No idea if she is close to him but it’s got to be stressful and therefore to Jay. I didn’t hear it during the game. Maybe some factor? Not saying he played bad except one play but who knows?

    • BearDown100393

It was reported online but I do not recall it mentioned during the broadcast. Of course, had it have been Brady or Manning, there would have been a pregame ceremony, ribbons around the goalposts and a commemorative milk carton.

      • BillW

Thanks for the chuckle. I needed it. Commemorative milk carton is classic!

    • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

I’ll say it: he played like shit.

Not even talking about the INT. He missed throws all day. Left 2 easy TDs on the field and sailed several other throws (or put them in the dirt). His worst game of the year by a good margin, IMO.

Everybody wants to blame Gould for costing Chicago 6 points, but Cutler cost them 17 (lost 4 from TD to FG, 7 from TD to punt, and 6 to other team with pick 6).

      • BearDown100393

And he still got the Bears in position to win this game. Despite a legitimate off the field distraction.

      • AlbertInTucson

        Cutler was clearly off today.

      • Irish Sweetness

Gould is the scapegoat for that loss. Kickers are there to make those FGs – those were two chip shots. Blaming Cutler is ridiculous. Interceptions are a part of the game – he threw ONE. Missing two FGs is not part of the game. It’s unacceptable.

        • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

I’m not even upset about the INT. Those happen. Cutler missed a lot of throws downfield that an NFL QB has to make yesterday.

An NFL K absolutely needs to make those kicks, but an NFL QB also absolutely needs to make those throws.

  • BillW

I’m guessing everyone is burned out. Little activity here

Is there or was there a lot of outrage on the non call for unnecessary roughness against Jay?

    • BillW

I’m furious. Seriously the blatant favoritism to certain qbs has made me stop watching except for the Bears

It’s not amusing in the least. I truly love football. I love my Bears. But I no longer am a fan of the NFL. Period. That was the tipping point for me

These aren’t missed calls. I can live with that. This is a sport where somehow with no rule changes we too often have varying interpretations of the same rules we’ve always had

It’s too arbitrary to say the game is always decided by the players

I’m done except for my bears. And this blog

      • BearDown100393

The NFL is turning into the NBA with a separate set of rules for popular players. I hesitate to equate popularity to skill because that is not always the current case.

        • BillW

Exactly. Now that I’m seeing that fact I’ll only watch the Bears like I only watch the Cubs or Bulls or Blackhawks

The NFL just jumped the shark for me

    • RenoBear

Unfortunately, it was met with not much surprise or vitriol… It seems to be accepted because he’s not part of the holy trinity of QB’s

      • BillW

        Thanks for replying.

Strangely it had a profound impact on me as detailed in another post

        • RenoBear

I get it… It was a ridiculous non call. It was an over the top hit and he whipped him into the ground. If it was Rodgers Brady etc the guy would have been headed to the guillotine and thrown outta the game. The discrepancy in calls is completely absurd

          • CanadaBear

It will be interesting to see if the guy gets fined this week.

          • AlbertInTucson

My comment in the bar was “If that were Rodgers, the zebras would have been running into the stands to find something yellow to throw”.

          • BillW

For some reason it was the proverbial last straw for me. The fact that the announcers commented twice that it should have been a flag made it worse. . They were in fact admitting that different refs call different things. That just isn’t something I am going to shrug off

My one little viewing choice, though measured by Comcast, won’t matter. But often I read “what would it take for people to stop watching?” That did it for me

          • BearDown100393

If the turf was snow covered, the referee would have unzipped his pants.

          • BillW

Took me a while to get that one

As Snoopy once said “Don’t eat yellow snow”

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Eh,that’s football. Honestly i wish there were more noncalls like that, esp w Vadgers

          • CanadaBear

Rodgers would have had a hissy fit until the refs HAD to throw a flag.

          • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

I can’t believe football has come to this. I can’t honestly look at my nephews in the eye and tell them this sport makes u a better man

          • CanadaBear

I think it’s always been a little bit that way with the refs and a “chosen few” but it’s way more blatant these days. All the crying for flags from QB’s and WR’s is nuts. Don’t even get me started about divers (there again, Vadgers makes another dubious appearance).

          • BillW

They could start with something like one warning for lobbying for a flag. Followed by a 5 yard penalty the next time and 10 every time after

            Same with embellishment

      • CanadaBear

I was watching at a bar. I wasn’t surprised. I told my Beloved Bride that was usually a penalty but they make an exception for Bears QB’s. A couple of guys watching next to me just shrugged their shoulders (they were Cards fans).

        • RenoBear

Yep. That’s about the extent of it. Kinda funny to see some of the trolls around here jumping off the bridge. The Besrs aren’t a playoff team, yes it was an ugly loss snatched away from jaws of victory yada yada…. But the arrows still pointing way up. I didn’t feel much from the loss, I liked the way the defense played in stretches, the offense seemed pretty out of sync all day. I thought after all that ‘hey we got away with a win after playing like shit’ but alas, I was dead wrong. It’s cool, the Bears aren’t good enough yet to win when they don’t play their best. They’ll get better. Kinda starting to wonder what’s up with playing at home though, yikes!

          • CanadaBear

100%. I’m guessing there will be a lot of turnover in the off season and the team will add some upgrades. Even next year I can’t see them going far in the playoffs unless absolutely everything fell right for them. That’s only happened for the Beloved once in my lifetime. The miracle 13-3 season under Jauron. This game totally sucked but that’s rebuilding.

          • BillW

All the clichés I guess. Trap game. Big win hangover. Reading their press clippings. Maybe the coaches too somewhat?

But all true in that a team lacking talent can rise up but can lay an egg too

As I’ve said part of the process

Oh I forgot this from an earlier post. Last time I’m seeing Robbie live too next week

          • DaMurph

Panthers were 7-8-1 last year…….I dont see why we cant be very successful next year.

          • Irish Sweetness

The Panthers haven’t done shit yet Murph. They could be one and done. Barely beat the Saints.

          • CanadaBear

Just think we’ve got too many holes.

          • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

all year long this team has played like they’re .500. They’re still .500 in the 10 games Cutler has played. They’ll finish with 7 or 8 wins.

I don’t get why people were predicting a blowout W this week. 9 of 10 games with Cutler have been 1 score, with 8 of those 9 coming down to the last 30 seconds to decide the outcome. In those 8 games, they’re 4-4.

          • RenoBear

Yeah man. A .500 team that is still learning how to win consistently. i think 8-8 would be a great year, because aside from the few extra wins, the product on the field is night and day from last year. Idiots on here are roasting Amos for blowing coverage on the OT TD… Who cares? I’d rather him learn that lesson now than 1-2 years from now. I’m enjoying the heck out of watching this team build a foundation moving forward. Wish people would just enjoy the ride

          • Irish Sweetness

Who predicted a blowout? I was on saying the spread was a bad bet. The W part should have been money though.

      • BearDown100393

The NFL does not seem to care when a Bears quarterback gets body slammed to the turf.

        • BillW

Not to sound like a corrupted mp3 file (or broken record) but the fact that that is now proven to be fact and not some fan envy or bitching was the last straw

          • BearDown100393

It is not much solace, but other teams have the exact same problem. And the culture will not change, until they defy Roger Goodell’s gag order and bring the issue out to the forefront.

          • BillW

I’d love to see a couple owners speak out even if vaguely. Something along the lines of concern how long the fans will tolerate inconsistent application of the rules

          • Irish Sweetness

            Game’s over dude. Game’s over.

  • RenoBear

And the first time I’ve bet on the patriots… Only on a money line too, no point spread… And they get blown the hell out by schizophrenic Eagles

    • Irish Sweetness

Bears only had to beat the Niners for my 4-timer and a big bag of sand.

  • CanadaBear

I’m late to the party on this one for sure but Gould is as good as gone after this year if he isn’t lights out the rest of the year. I doubt they cut him until the end of the season.

    • BillW

I hope they bring in a kicker Tuesday under the guise that “gee Robbie might be hurt” . I want to say no one on this team is a sure fire lock. A few are close but the last 4 games are roster decision making time

As others said would love to see Fales. Maybe vs Detroit? Home, no playoff impact. Perfrct

      • CanadaBear

Unless they see some advantage to signing some UFA now instead of after the season, I don’t see it. Oh well.

      • Irish Sweetness

If you want a shot at the playoffs you change kickers now. Anyone know how many games he cost us?

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Am i drunk, or did thr eagles just beat the pats at ne? A lil of both methinks

    • BillW

The fact you typed neat instead of beat and ot and thr lends credence to the first one

  • http://t.co/MsJnMxjrmd 4ever85! (AKA, ButchDeadLift)

Wow. Panthers can’t be better than the pats, can they?

    • Trac

Looks like artoo may get bumped. His luck might have ended.

      • BillW

        Artoo?

        • Trac

          One of the FF players.

          • BillW

            Ah. Thanks

    • AlbertInTucson

Eventually, an onslaught of injuries catches up even to the Patriots.

Have to enjoy at a 99-yard pick-six wiping the smirk off Brady’s face for a week.

    • Irish Sweetness

      Steelers’lll beat them all!

  • Pissed Off

Anyone else able to get the post game pressers. Official site seems to be down. On my phone at least. How awesome would it be if we had a fan base like the Steelers and how loud they are. Bear fans travel very well but even the home games don’t get very loud. Insee too many fans sitting on their hands on big 3rd downs.

    • Irish Sweetness

Cutty never mentioned the missed kicks, laid it all on himself. Fox was thinking about nothing else.

  • BillW

Robbie 9 and 6 last 15 attempts. Best kicker in Bears history. But it ends for everyone.

Press conferences were strange somehow. Of course they are edited on the Bears site but no real tough questions. Press sort of giving them a pass recognizing a team rebuilding is going to have games like this?

Someone asked Jay if the situation with his brother in law had any effect. He predictably said no and then said something I couldn’t understand

    • BearDown100393

Too bad athletes cannot be honest during press conferences. Of course that situation impacts him.

      • willbest

Does it? I mean during the game he wouldn’t have time to think about it. Most men are pretty capable at focusing at the task at hand while pushing everything to the side. At least in the short term.

        • Johnnywad

He missed practice during the week with an “illness” and was list as questionable as late as Saturday. No doubt it had an impact if only in preparation.

  • SC Dave

A predictably idiotic thread. Especially the bat-shit crazy nonsense about Forte.

    • http://www.dabearsbeat.com/ Johnathan Wood

honestly, IMO today increased the chances Forte is back with the Bears next year. Both Langford and Carey had key miscues in passing situations (penalty on Carey, big drop by Langford).

But I still think it’s mot likely Forte is gone, and they roll with Langford/Carey in 2016.

      • Joecashflow

He gone. Only if they value effort and loyalty, will he be there, but that’s wishful thinking.

      • Irish Sweetness

        Not forgetting Perry or Antone.

    • BearDown100393

Matt will be terribly missed when he really is gone.

    • BillW

For the record not that it matters but I simply think the Bears aren’t going to pony up for him. I think most others feel the same

Not saying I want him gone or that I’m convinced Langford next year will be as good as Forte will be. Just figuring when I go next week it will be the last time I see him in person as a Bear

      Which to me is sad.

And Robbie too. Great memories and game winners but he has lost it

      • Irish Sweetness

Paying him would be insane. You can be guaranteed he’d be out with an injury anyway. He caught a dump-off last night that Langford would have taken to the house, but he got tackled from behind – something you never saw happen to Neal Anderson. Somebody posted on this thread that Forte is the second greatest Bear back. They were very very drunk.

After Walter Payton, Gale Sayers, Willie Gallimore, Red Grange, Bronko Nagurski, Neal Anderson, Thomas Jones et al then maybe you can squeeze him in.

He has 2 TDs this year and hasn’t broken a 4 yard average. Yeah, let’s pay that guy.

    • Irish Sweetness

Played like a slow man. A person of sloth. But a lot better than Robbie fkn Gould.

  • The GP

Stephone Anthony became the first player in history to return a blocked extra point for a defensive two-point conversion.

    • willbest

I didn’t even realize that was possible.

      • AlbertInTucson

Goes with the new PAT rule.

  • Joecashflow

Every damn time we get a chance for .500 we blow it. Don’t care if they are good or lousy team, just don’t choke on .500. And I started Cutler in my Fantasy league. I’m pissed and I earned it. Focus on 2016 draft! This team will look radically different. Have no idea what happened to otherwise good coverage on that last play, other than CB got smoked. To make matters worse, almost perfect week for GB, with loses all around them.

    • willbest

There were 10 new faces on defense this year. I expect there to only be 4-5 next year. Meanwhile offense should only have 1-2 new faces. 2-3 if you count White as being a new face in 2016

  • willbest

Looking at the NFC and the lack of dominance, it sure doesn’t feel good to be effectively eliminated this early. Particularly by a horrible San Fran team at home. So you can say this was never supposed to be a playoff team, the fact of the matter is that it would only take 4 plays to turn this 5-7 into and 8-4 and make it a #5 seed.

    • BillW

Yeah I feel the same pang. Thought they’d be mathematically in it for 2 or 3 more weeks. Obviously they still are but you know what I mean

Maybe I’m wrong but for some strange reason I don’t feel a sense from press conferences like the team is pissed over this. Hope I’m wrong but that’s a bit troubling if I’m right

Going to watch Thayer and Joniak now and then record Comcast post game to watch tomorrow

        Denial/shock?

But we’re not. It’s always a game of inches with a fine line between playoffs and meh.

There was a football God that screwed two kicks away from us. There was no way we should have lost that game but we did. It wasn’t meant to be.

The 49ers were oh-for-the-road coming into today.

Bears playoff path shortens to the following:

    1) win out
    2) One of following: GB loses out; Seattle loses 3 of 4 games, Minny beats nobody except the Giants (we would have the common games tiebreaker).
    3) Atlanta to lose at least 1 more conference game (we would have common opponent tiebreaker)
    4) Dodge an unlikely scenario where the Skins and Giants both finish 9-7

      So you’re saying there’s a chance…..

And see that goon in the photo above? If you’re not going to blitz genius, then at least cover deep in overtime.

so we’re paying Robbie 8M over the next two seasons making him the highest paid kicker in the universe?

Don’t think so …. is he still on the team?

Not sure why people are so crazy about loss. They played horrible& missed 2 easy FGs to win. 2 concerns Id have: Gase play calling & Robbie.

What??? Yes, two easy FGs missed. Craziness ensues. We beat the Fudge in Lambeau and can’t beat Wayne Blabbert – or whatever the fuck his name is – in our house.
