• Johnathan Wood

I disagree that they should spend big $$ on a S. Seattle’s vaunted defense with the best safety combo in the league sucked in the playoffs last year after Clemons got hurt and their pass rush fell apart.

You need solid S play, yes, but it all starts up front. With limited resources and a lot of defensive needs this offseason, they will be much better suited trying to go value/draft on S and focusing primary resources on fixing the DL.

    Just my $0.02.

    • Doooonnnn’t Caaaaare!

I agree sir. I love badass safeties and they are a crucial part of a D but if you don’t have pressure and ass kickings going on upfront with the front line anyone would get beat or not be able to be as aggressive coming up on screens and runs like Ward does.

      • Irish Sweetness

So we push the boat out and sign Byrd AND Ward. Draft a DE and a DT in the first two rounds and pray we hit on both.

        Can we afford that?

    • SC Dave

Football is won and lost at the line of scrimmage. Always has been, always will be. Until they go to touch.. one one thousand… two one thousand….
      Oh shit!

    • Irish Sweetness

Seattle took Denver apart in the superbowl. One could argue that Kam Chancellor was the MVP.

We’re not going to have some awesome D-line this year, not unless we hit bigtime on 2 picks in the draft … even then .. .do we trust Wright/Conte to be in the right place when the QB puts it up?

      • Johnathan Wood

Seattle took Denver apart in the SB with pressure on Manning. Both INTs were the result of pressure.

Seattle’s defense, which had the complete “legion of boom” even then, completely fell apart in the 2012 playoffs after Clemons got hurt. They tried to plug Bruce Irvin in at DE, it failed miserably, and all of a sudden their stud CB and S were getting torched because Matt Ryan had all day to sit in the pocket and pick them apart.

    • Irish Sweetness

Ward couldn’t cost that much could he? That’s one impressive reel – it’s not going to have his laofs on it, but he brings the wood and has a nose for the ball, makes good angles etc.

  • Doooonnnn’t Caaaaare!

We need total monsters upfront and it will trickle to the safeties. The whole D plays with swagger when the QB is getting pummeled and is fearful for his life. The passes float, the passes are behind or too far in front and the highlight reel shit begins.

    • Doooonnnn’t Caaaaare!

with that being said, Conte plays like a pussy and Wright doesn’t lay wood like he should as a thumper coming out of Florida.

      • Doooonnnn’t Caaaaare!

remember when our safeties were Mike Brown and Tony Parrish. Fucking killed dudes.

        • gpldan

37 blog points for a Tony Parrish name drop.

      • Irish Sweetness

Exactly. Aesome D-line play doesn’t transform your crap safeties into legends – it just boosts their numbers slightly. Can’t polish turds.

        • MB30SD

This. Guy’s talking like fixing the d line will turn conte into a real nfl safety.

Doesn’t fucking work that way. Balls will be thrown, runs will get broke, shit will get past that line. Chris conte is chris conte.

  • johnnywad

I’d prefer to spend on the safeties and draft the D line. Seems like experience slightly supercedes athleticism at safety and vice versa up front. I’d rather have young, hungry D linemen up front from early in the draft and proven safeties in the back. Loved the TJ Ward video. His angles to and at the ball carrier in run support were great, always finishing with his helmet in front of the ball carrier. If we get him, I’m calling him Pythagoras. Or the Anti-Conte.

    • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

I wouldn’t mind Ward, IF the price is right. Byrd turned down an offer that supposedly would’ve made him the top S.

That tells me that he’s either super-greedy and full of himself, or that he just wants out of Buff without throwing his teammates under the bus.

Ward, Woot, Rat and someone like Byrant would fill up some holes.

      • MB30SD

see my thing up top? I was hoping you guys with more info/knowledge would either back it up or poke holes… or both.

As I said, in my mind paying big $ for a SS doesn’t solve our safety problems… paying big money for a FS does. I’d much rather pay a bit more monay for a FS and plug SS in rd 3 than pay a little less for a SS and still be SOL at the more important FS spot.

Oh, and I thought the same thing about byrd… ‘just get me TF outta this shithole, keep your millions, I’m outty’

        • johnnywad

Dunno. Run D was soooooooo bad. I really enjoyed that vid watching Ward stop the run. Isn’t it possible SS is a bigger need given the Bears’ biggest deficiency is in the run game?

          • MB30SD

a good DL should help the run more than the pass. Passes are gonna get throwd even though the dline are bad ass, you can’t stop them all, so you want someone back there who’s competent when they get throwsed.

And again, I feel like we can pick up a decent vet SS much easier than a good FS. We don’t need a bad ass SS if our DL and LBs are decent, we still need a good FS, especially if we lose the nut. My $.02

          • Irish Sweetness

Why can’t we pay both Byrd and Ward? What’s the damage?
Bye bye Melt. Bye bye Pep, bye bye Bush and maybe bye bye Peanut. Wouldn’t that cover the bill?

          • CanadaBear

So we say goodbye to 4 players and sign 2. Don’t think that math adds up. You can’t spend a fortune on 2 safeties. Asking Phil to hit on 2 DLmen in the draft when he hasn’t hit on one in 2 drafts seems unlikely. I’m pretty sure you’re correct on us losing all 4 players but you have to replace them. Bush wouldn’t be hard to replace. Pep and Melt need to be replaced by competent DLmen. Nobody is talking about replacing Peanut with a competent CB. That’s a really tall order. Gonna be interesting.

          • Irish Sweetness

Damn, I just watched those videos and Ward is actually the dude I’d prefer if we just got one of them. Byrd looks a little small, if anything, but man, Ward looks like a total baller. Wow. Anyone know how much he’s looking for ? Pay the man.

We hit on DT/DE in the draft, get Ward, then maybe Steltz can look good enough.

Can you imagine Jimmie Ward in the navy blue and burnt orange? I’ve got a Ward-Boner and it won’t go down ….

          • MB30SD

            FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!!!

HE’S A STRONG SAFETY IRISH…. WE NEED A FREE SAFETY!!!!!

BYRD LOOKS SMALL BECAUSE HE’S REALLY FAST AND HE CAN INTERCEPT THE BALL AND RETURN IT FOR MANY YARDS… AND COVER VERY FAST RECEIVERS GOING LONG, AND… ahhhhh, never mind.

          • MB30SD

see johnny’s MUCH better analogy up top.

            SS = Fullback

            FS = Running Back

The difference between matt forte and tony fiametta (or whatever the fuck his name is)

          • Irish Sweetness

We don’t need a strong safety ? I want Ward.

Yeah, as long as Byrd can play you don’t need a giant, but I want Ward.

      • Irish Sweetness

I’m sure Byrd is like most players, he wants to win, and sees he’s not going to do that in Buffalo.

  • gpldan

we livez in Da Golden Age of Da Bloggin’

Throw up a thought, link a couple of pre-edited highlight tapes of said player – and BOOMDA – you got John Facenda lite,

  • gpldan

How about some deep Bears Facenda flashback – when Al was only 40 years old.

    Willie the Wisp!

    • Irish Sweetness

      Great video GP!

Ah, one of the great Bear backs. Love me some Willie. I like that commentary ” …Willie never gained a thousand yards in a season … but statistics were not the measure of this man …he painted pictures in the open field … each run was a Rembrandt .. and as a collection … they hung in the memory ..”

    • CanadaBear

I remember him being killed in a car crash at training camp in ’64. I had to look up the other player (Bo Farrington).

  • MB30SD

    Ok, so…

I agree that the two areas we desperately need to fix this offseason are DL and S (we can get by with all the LBs and corners we have)… in that order. So, EXACTLY how much cap money will we have to spend after keeping the guys we want to keep. Let’s say we keep josh, but loose peanut (single tear) and we let pep and bush walk? Data/$/NB (and yes I know we’re still guessing who will stay/go, but let’s take the most probable scenarios into account), but how much would that leave us with the draft signing and other minimal contracts we want to keep?

FA – Take that number and see who’s available at DL and S in FA (I’ll get to draft in a second). Can we afford a joseph L. AND a byrd? How about a red bryant and a ward? Let’s say our two big FA signings (non vet min stuff) are Linval and ward. Can we afford that? Keep in mind Ward IS A STRONG SAFETY AND NOT A FREE SAFETY. So he’d be replacing wright NOT conte. Byrd is a FS and would replace conte – and if I haven’t been clear enough up till now, I HEAVILY believe we need a seriously bad ass FREE safety and can backfill SS with someone average and get away with it… NOT the other way around. The FS is the general of the dbackfield and is the guy responsible for being the last line of defense on pass AND run and needs to be a bad ass otherwise you see many TDs being scored on bad angles, missed tackles, botched coverage calls, and just poor coverage skills… sound familiar (you can’t fix that shit with a good pass rush, although you do force mistakes and not so many breakaways)?

Draft – I think we all agree that we have to use our #14 spot on the best available DE/DT no matter what. If they’re all there which one do you take? Donald, Hageman, Jernigan, or Nix? According to what I’ve read from our 3 resident draft experts, sounds like the consensus is Hageman, right?

Rd 2 – Take the best possible available DE (if you took Hageman, Donald, or Nix) and DT if we took an end (?) in 1.

Rd 3 – If we went ward in FA, you have to go for a FSafety here… or if we broke the bank and got byrd, you go SS here (more of them, easier to pick), or a Center if he’s a badass (you’re welcome Irish)

    Rd 4 – best corner/QB/LB available

So the D would look something like this:

    DL: Woot | Hagemen or Nix or Donald | Paea/Linval | Bass/Colins/?

    CB: Jennings | Bowman

    LB: Briggsy | DJW/Bostic | Anderson/greene/ ………fiiiiiine….CD

    S: Ward/Steltz | Rd3/vet ………fiiiine….. conte

To me everything is fine except we again pick up a nameless 3rd rd mediocre FREE safety to anchor our Dbackfield. My take… we can’t do that for the 13th fucking year in a row. Just can’t. We have to either get byrd or pick up a FS in rd 2 LATEST… but it still won’t be enough to fix the safety position unless phil finds a diamond in the rough. My $.02 anyway.

    • MB30SD

Ok, just watched the videos (didn’t want to be swayed)

Ward is def a bad ass and a very good tackler. But again, it’s much easier to find a good run filling SS than it is to find a very good pass covering FS.

All things being equal I’d MUCH rather have byrd. Guy is a serious threat and would solidify our FS spot for years. Was seriously impressed with his skills… just wish the tape showed the entire field so I could see his angle and play in space.

If we can afford it, we should pick up byrd and linval in FA and do the rest in the draft.

    • CanadaBear

Not sure how Emery feels about it but we haven’t valued the safety position in forever. I’m more in favor of DL upgrades but I sure wouldn’t cry if we got a decent FA FS.

      • MB30SD

my thing is I think we can do both THIS off season canada.

One FS in FA and pretty much the rest of FA and the first 2 rounds and a couple late rounds of the draft for DL. Throw in a SS in the 3rd and a CB/QB/LB in the 4th

        • Trac

I’d much rather pass on elephant hunting this year. Tis time to right the ship. We need to wait another year before committing to the big guns in my opinion.

          • MB30SD

why, if you can, why not?

13 years for a real FS? Too soon?

            I say nay sir, NAY!

          • Trac

I just think with Cuttys new contract and a deep draft, it’s the smart play.

Besides, what did Peppers ultimately net us? How many rings?

          • MB30SD

this isn’t your retirement fund boet, it’s the win now NFL.

Let’s finally get a real FS and win now (see my comment to yours about AR above)

          • Trac

It really not about that MB. It’s about “Phil”osophy. Our D was so banged up last year and there are so many holes that need to be “Philled” that going out and signing the wrong FA for the big bucks is like putting the icing on the cake before it goes in the oven. I think we should wait until after the draft, see what needs we still have and then reevaluate. If I were to go after anyone, it would be TJ Ward.

          • MB30SD

it worked for pep and cutty (kind of).

Look trac, I think we can do both. Byrd and linval in FA, DL in rd 1 & 2 of the draft then CB/LB/C/DL in 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

          • Irish Sweetness

I would add …. “What did Cutty bring us?”

A big empty bag of fuck-all.

Oh, we got to the NFC Champs game …in Soldier field … and let the Fudgepackers rub our noses in it.

Now we have the offense … but no defense …..SMH.

          • Irish Sweetness

            You got me, Trac. Huh?

        • Irish Sweetness

          And where’s the mu’f’n’ Center ?

When Lego-man literally falls apart in week two … are we going with Taylor Boggs as the most important chain-link on the offensive line of the Chicago Bears? Not in this dimension.

They signed Garza? Good. He’s the backup.

(Dramatically folds arms and stares at Phil)

    • Trac

Remember how everyone wanted to sign Antwon Rolle when he was a FA? Hmm, hmm, hmm?

Well we learned this much at least since Emery took over. DB’s are NOT his strong suit. I doubt he signs one of note.

      • MB30SD

negative negative negative…. grumble, grumble, grumble.

        Trac… wwjd!?

    • Irish Sweetness

I don’t want to draft any safeties. Plug’n’play right now.

We build the DL cheaply from the draft – new knees (kinda). Devote the first two rounds to DL. You know the third round is a Center. Draft that 230lb back in the 4th and then I don’t care.

If the worst comes to the worst and we can’t buy both safeties, then Ward/Steltz doesn’t sound terrible … but there’s no depth there behind them.

      • MB30SD

Ward and steltz are both strong safeties.

Have you not listened to my weekly lessons titled, “how the two safeties differ”?

        • Irish Sweetness

We could switch Steltz over to FS – he couldn’t be worse than either of the fools we have now. I can’t get Lac’s opinion of him out of my head – “he’s always in the right place”. Sign Ward, Steltz (or anybody else) to FS, draft the line. We can do it.

          • MB30SD

NO NO NO… ah fuck irish. dude… they are NOT interchangeable!!!!! We need a new FS NOT a new SS! Please man, you’re giving me a fucking heart attack here.

          • Irish Sweetness

Who do we have at SS that’s better – or even close to – Jimmie Ward ? Yes we absolutely do need a SS. And FS. Steltz is a serviceable backup for SS, and I have no idea who we’d call a backup FS – not that Anthony Walters fool anyway, and I haven’t seen Derrick Martin. We need to get rid of everyone not named Craig Steltz.

    • Trac

If we just got healthy alone with our current crop, we’ll be there. The key to our success going forward will be the draft. Sure hope Phil has some good picks cause Lord knows we need him to be on his game.

  • gpldan

Phillip did not meet with Shae 2 years ago. He did not meet with Long last year, although he worked some back channel conversation through Kyle’s trainer or some shit like that.

So this year he meets with Donald.

I take it as a sign he’s NOT drafting him. Cray-cray Emery Voodoo mind fuck sammich with extra pickle.

You are playing checkers. Phillip is playing Mr. Spock 3D chess.

        • MB30SD

oh, just settle down a little. Best D player out of all of college?! We do not know this yet. Brady was 5th rounder. Kam C. was a 5th rounder.

That was very un-data of you.

          • Johnathan Wood

I mean in terms of college production. He won every award he was eligible for last year and was the undisputed best defensive player in college football.

Shady is still playing Call of Duty
Shady is still playing Call of Duty, so why don’t you buy Call of Duty, motherfucker?
Yes, he’s still at it but you are too God Damn cheap to join him, aren’t you? Aren’t you?
Shady has won the Ultimate Pegasus trophy in Call of Duty, because he’s a god damn bad ass and you have a dick made from cheese.
Oh, you are logging off? Not joining Shady playing Call of Duty? Yeah, that’s for the best, he just won the Golden Gun sawed off shotgun trophy for killing 8 rednecks in 2 minutes. Then he banged their ma’. Probably for the best you don’t play.
Good Night… you pussy. You cheap cheap pussy.

I’m not sure I like Sony’s new interface in this respect.

Very nice GP. PS4 does seem more “social” like Facebook letting you know what your “friends” are up to. I mean, there’s even a “share” button on the controller. But there are a lot of cool perks too. I’m surprised the feed says I am playing COD Ghosts though, Battlefield 4 has occupied most of my PS4 usage because of it’s awesome massive multiplayer maps and a badass campaign character named Irish. Ghosts ain’t bad either though. The campaign mode starts off in San Diego which quickly turns turns to hell after the Russians/Chinese take control of an American space super weapon “Odin”. But I digress. Listen to your new Sony overlord and buy the damn game already.

The one trend I noticed as a kid is that all the great cartoons started at 10am. That seemed to be the ‘prime-time’ for toons. The ones before/after the 10 spot were good, but not as good.

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

Don’t see difference maker on FA market at DE. Not Bennett. Not Houston.
Not Johnson. Rather see Bears buy quality at S than reach at DE.

    – Jeff

I tend to agree with Jeff. I never thought Bennett, Houston or maybe even Johnson were Pepp-prime money, though that’s what they’re asking.

We kinda got lucky to land him and land Cutler without the draft. Does anybody know of any other team that landed both a franchise QB and DE of their quality through FA?

    • Irish Sweetness

Ends and tackles are too expensive in FA, when we can draft quality young players and throw them straight in at the deep end. In Phil we trust.

Can’t fuck around babysitting mid-low round safeties liek we have been for the last twelve million years though. Buy ’em readymade please.

      • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

Buying readymade safeties, or any position, through FA is pricey though.

FA is like buying a name brand. It’s proven, but it’ll cost extra.

The draft is where you gamble a bit to save some mula…hmmm, this zima looks like a good investment…

        • Cormonster

Bears got some good value last year signing Bushrod, Slausen, and Bennett. Maybe they can get 3 new starters on D the same way.

Man there are some short fucking memories on da board lately. How about peppers and cuttler?

I advocate just two this year, Byrd (or clemons is byrd is way too expensive) and either linval or bryant.

          • CanadaBear

The problem is everyone has more cash and they have to spend it or lose it. I think this year they have to spend up to 89% of the cap. There have been some shitty teams that were more than happy to pocket the dough. Guys will definitely make more money this FA period. Not so much the top guys but the guys around 30 or so. They won’t all be on min deals like we did with a bunch of guys last year.

Happy Fat Tuesday Canada! Are you familiar with Bryan Lee? He was / is a fixture in the French Quarter blues scene.

I seen him at my favorite blues bar the winter after hurricane Katrina. They were essentially homeless at the time, and since Bryan is originally from Wisconsin, they were hitting the blues joints around here. It was a Tuesday night, but i could not leave until bar time. Only about 10 people were left for the last set, and they were still tearing it up. One of the best bar shows I’ve ever seen (along with Tab Benoit, another NOLA guy).

Back at ya, Cor. I’ve seen both of them but it was years ago. I love that about Blues/Roots guys. They’re getting paid next to nothing, there’s nobody there and they’re still giving it all they’ve got.

I’m on Facebook (insert your own joke here) and the only thing I post is Youtube music stuff (and not much of that). In honor of Fat Tuesday I posted Prof Longhair’s Going to Mardi Gras and Smiley Lewis’ I Hear You Knockin’.

          • Cormonster

I rarely post on Facebook. Most of my posts are private messages to friends with YouTube videos attached. Aside from a few friends I “follow” and respond to on Facebook, most of my time there is spent reading news stories or watching music videos.

I opened a facebook account purely to get in touch with my old football coach. He played Center for the Senior Dublin Celts, and on pissy, cold Sunday mornings he took sole responsibility for keeping the juniors going. He kept turning up because we did.

It’s gettign that you can’t comment on a lot of sites now without a FB account. That sucks.

Jairus Byrd, you mean the son of Bears former DB coach Gil Byrd? Hopefully sonny boy has no hard feelings about us canning his dad. I will also note that he was a 2nd rounder and a pro bowler as a rookie, so talent at the position can be found in round 2 (Jimmie Ward, come on down). I would like to see us sign Chris Clemmons, FS from the Dolphins. He had all the measurables at the combine in 2009 (4.41 40, 37.5″ vert, etc.) and he graded out well according to PFF. He may come cheaper than TJ Ward/Byrd and we can pair him with J. Ward to have the best safety corps since Brown/Parrish. We could then afford Linval Joseph (or Arthur Jones or Randy Starks) and Willie Young.

    • MB30SD

if we can get another FS that’s somewhat commensurate to byrd for less money I’m all in… as long as it’s a FS and not a SS.

      • johnnywad

        Safety snob

        • MB30SD

no, safety correct. All this talk of FS or SS, makes no difference drives me fucking crazy. It’s like saying what’s the different between a #1 WR and a slot guy? AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

          • johnnywad

I hear you. Its mostly just a product of the two we have sucking so bad. We’d all be happy with an upgrade at either.
I think of the SS like a Fullback. You notice the great ones. They make a real difference. From there is just varying degrees of “meh” as you get closer to sucking. Then you notice the really shitty ones. Then you forget them because they get cut.

          • MB30SD

Duuuuh MB… That is actually a much better example and the PERFECT analogy!

            Well done johnny!

Irish… get it now? The SS is the fullback and the FS is the RB/HB?

          • Irish Sweetness

I don’t accept that a FS needs to be small and fast. What’s wrong with medium or big and fast ? The game is changing – receivers are getting bigger, so safeties (as we’re seeing with corners), naturally have to adapt. A FS still has to come up to the line and stop the run when required, that hurts if you’re 5’10 and 185.

          • MB30SD

Uhhhh… ok. You can accept it or not mate. Bottom line is you need to find a fs who is good to great… I don’t give a fuck what his particulars are.

          • Irish Sweetness

Aha. Brandon Marshall can and does play slot. Top receivers should be able to play X, Y or Z.

I almost don’t care who we get at FS as long as we get Ward.

I may be wrong (what are the chances?) … but your Nagasaki/Hiroshima bombs were basic fission reactions. For the hydrogen mack-daddy explosions though, you need to create a fission explosion first in order to create the very high temperatures required to fuse the atoms together to make the uber-bang of a fusion explosion.

Over 2000 such explosions have occurred on and around this planet. What effect has this on the environment and or parallel dimensions …

        exactly sir

    • AlbertInTucson

What was retarded were the truly idiotic “rules’ you proposed in your response. you proposed.

This proposed rule already works in the NCAA..

There should be no such thing as penalties of 40 or 50 yards.

      • Doooonnnn’t Caaaaare!

Al, assuming you could still get out of your stance, what would stop me from getting faked out on your double move 30yrds down the field, tackling you and you getting only 10 or 15 yards out of it. I would be able to be much more aggressive. Why not address the 5yard touch rule and make it 10?

        • Cormonster

I prefer the college rule of fifteen yards for one main reason: the refs consistently blow the call, especially on under thrown passes, and to a certain extent on overthrown passes.

        • AlbertInTucson

          Stop it.

If you’re “getting faked out on your double move 30yrds down the field” you are pretty much TOAST and NOT going to be in a position to tackle anybody, even a “white ass” receiver.

Was Peanut EVER in a position to haul down Megatron on the Lions’ winning TD pass in Soldier Field this season?

I repeat, the rule has been in play in the NCAA for years now without evidence of these scenarios you keep putting forward.

Also, MOST DBs think they are god’s gift to football and can cover ANYBODY.

        • Irish Sweetness

Then you would require a different penalty seperate from P.I.

If you tackle a receiver ninety yards downfield flagrantly, then just like in soccer, you get ejected from the game as well as the penalty.

I don’t believe Charles Martin was ejected from the game for the assault on McMahon, was he? Fifteen yards. That was it. Should have been thrown in jail.

    • Irish Sweetness

Absolutely disagree. Running ninety yards downfield and then falling over? Ninety yard penalty? Frak that. Perhaps invent a 20 yard penalty if the incident involes forty yards or more, but it’s too easy to engineer a P.I. call.

Disclaimer: Corners should be a lot more aware about looking back for the ball though. They’re frightened to take their eyes off the player, when it’s the ball they should be tracking – they don’t even have to see the ball, they just have to turn their head once. I don’t get it. It’s not like you turn your head back for a split second and your receiver has done a UFO turn and hared off at FTL speed.

The Happy Valley Douchebag files… with Mike McQueary

Yes, so – despite his claims that he didn’t know what Sandusky was doing in the shower with the boy or that it was “horseplay” – now it’s been shown from other testimony and documents that McQueary knew they were engaging in buttsecks.

So, he lied about that to the Grand Jury and special prosecutor.

But wait – it gets better.

He confided to others that he felt really bad for the boy, because HE had been abused as a child. That’s right, he was a victim but would not stand up for another victim.

So, have we established that he’s going to Hell, yet? Are we there yet? No?

How about this then? If that doesn’t make you want to poke his eyes out with a rusty fork – he was GAMBLING on Penn State games while a coach.

    http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/colleges/penn_state/Key_witness_in_Penn_State_conspiracy_trial_admits_to_being_victim_of_sexual_abuse.html?c=r

But it’s the President Spanier – who I want to see burn. I want to see him with a cell mate that hides shanks in his beard. Graham Spanier may be the lowest form of dirt bag ever to exist, save for JoePa himself – for having the ultimate power to cover up and allow the predator to continue unabated.

Truly, truly – Happy Valley is a twisted shit hole of a place. Fuck Penn State.

    • johnnywad

Thought the same thing regarding McQueary the second I heard it. How do you see a man doing that to a child and turn your back? I don’t exaggerate when I say Sandusky likely would have left that shower in a body bag had I been the one to stumble in on that. Why hasn’t he swallowed a bottle of pills yet?

      • gpldan

I’d probably also be in prison for having choked out Sandusky with his own belt and then hung him from the shower pipes.

    • Doooonnnn’t Caaaaare!

Jesus, what the fuck is wrong with people. That hurts my heart to think about.
I was at a parish parents training session where we are introduced to convicted pedophiles who detail how they select and go after their child victims.
There was an ex teacher, priest and guidance counselor that were there as part of their sentence/penance, whatever.
One of my neighbors/friends interrupted the 2nd speaker after a ridiculously graphic description of what he would do to kids and said the following:
“I appreciate you being here and I truly feel that it will help me keep our kids safe. With that being said, part of me feels that there is a tiny sliver of your being that takes great satisfaction and pleasure in reliving the events in your head. If you were I were in a room by ourselves with no witnesses I’d simply choke you to death for the things you’ve done.” ….. He then just sits down with tears in his eyes and his head down.
I can’t believe these adults just let it happen.

  • Sactowns#1

I must repeat what I said earlier. We can get by with serviceable safeties and corners but not with merely serviceable D linemen. Lets get the Black Unicorns brother, the brown pegasus in FA and roll with Major Wright. According to Walter Football we arent going to get much better, not unless we drop 2-3x the cash. Save that cheddar, get a DT in the 1st and Safety in the 3rd of the draft and maybe Jimmy Garoppolo in the 2nd? Or am I just being greedy now?

    • Johnathan Wood

Why would you spend a 2nd round pick on a QB when you just signed Cutler to a deal that guarantees he’s starting for the next 3 years?

      • Sactowns#1

Um must I really elaborate? A) Cutler just can’t play 16 games a season. It’s beyond him.
