    • Trac

My ex-girlfriend from Espaniol used to say the exact thing to me when she was mad at me.

    • MB30SD

From google translate: I am the first we put feet first !!! Take deaicea !!! Total domination !!! buuuum !!!

  • johnnywad

Pack/Lions game is a big one in terms of the Wild Card. With the Bears winning this division, these teams both want this first crack at the tie breaker with each other. We have to assume one of the teams in the West is a Wild Card. So there’s likely one left, and that should get filled by the NFC North or South. So let’s pull for an injury riddled tie.

    • beninnorcal

      I say go Detroit!

      • beninnorcal

They just always choke in the long run.

        • MB30SD

agree. I would never wish this on anyone, but hey suh you cheap shotting POS, have your way with old vage today please.

          • CanadaBear

After that, it would be nice if someone from the Fudgies would retaliate and take care of the Lezbo (or Suh and Fairley).

  • beninnorcal

Forgot to mention about that Football Life episode featuring Marshall that his wife is expecting twins. He’s gonna be a pop.

  • bearsfantillend

GOD DAMN IT!!!!! I get the Indy/Jax and STL/Dal games at noon. the 2 crappiest games this week.

    • Big Mike

Bears not playing on Sunday afternoon is a football orgy with Direct TV. Between the Red Zone and tracking one or two games all the way through its a bunch of fun.

      • bearsfantillend

Due to Line of Sight issues i can’t get Direct TV.

        • Big Mike

Dude that’s miserable.. I live outside of DC about 5-10 miles from Dulles airport. In 2002 I was buying a new house. It was a new development. So the houses weren’t built. I had the developer put into the contract a guarantee of a southern exposure. They ended up having to cut down a tree.

        • CanadaBear

That sucks ass. I’m shocked Direct TV and local cable companies haven’t been able to work out a deal between them. Direct TV must be losing a good share of revenue by not working with cable when there are line of sight issues.

        • johnnywad

If you have line of sight issues, you can purchase an internet based package. Or they’ll sell you an app

          • bearsfantillend

when did they start doing that?

          • johnnywad

            http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000365728/article/directv-to-offer-nfl-sunday-ticket-streaming-options

It first started with customers who couldn’t have a satellite because they live in apartments. If you can prove to them you don’t have line of site, they will sell you the streaming package.

          • bearsfantillend

Unfortunately that does not cover line of sight issues.

            From their FAQ:

“I cannot get DIRECTV satellite TV service because I live in a residence that has obstructions blocking access to satellite signals. Can I purchase NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV?

Unfortunately, no. At this time NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV is only available to people who live in select apartment buildings, attend one of the 10 select universities, or live in select areas in the following metro areas: New York City, Philadelphia, or San Francisco. We will continue to evaluate the expansion of NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV eligibility in future NFL seasons.”

          • johnnywad

            http://www.sportsgeekery.com/28772/get-nfl-sunday-ticket-online-without-directv/

I’ve been following this guy a bit since spring. According to him, they’ll give it to you if their install tech can verify you can’t get a line of site. This is in spite of what the website says. I am not even going to try as I have no case for line of site.

          • bearsfantillend

just got off the phone with DTV customer service. I called to see if i could get the streaming service since i had Line of Sight issues. They said NO, new policy does not allow it unless i am in one of their approved markets as mentioned in my post above. I told them that was the dumbest policy i have ever heard of.

          • johnnywad

Agreed. Why wouldn’t they want your money? Really stupid. Heading to the bar next Sunday then?

          • bearsfantillend

nope – I get all Bears home games i live in Central Illinois. Just pissed this week with the games being broadcast in this area.

          • Big Mike

            100000 bad points. Sorry man.

      • CanadaBear

I broke down and bought the NFL pkg this year. Up here it’s through the cable co. It cost $199. Is that about what you pay for the Direct TV pkg? Up until a few years ago I could buy the games individually for $10 each. Should have known that was too good to last.

        • Big Mike

Canada, I don’t exactly know the price of the Package, it’s added on to my Direct TV bill. There is a $199 streaming package. I think I pay 3 or 4 payments of $50. That gets me the package, online access, the redzone, and some other features that I don’t use. Small price to pay. Before Direct TV I’d easily spend 4-5x that a month going to sports bars with the game on.

          • CanadaBear

Sounds like it’s pretty much the same cost. I’m the same way. Whenever I went to the sports bar it always cost me a minimum of $25-30. I don’t drink so I always felt compelled to order food and give the waitress a nice tip. Not to mention, most sports bars have just so-so food. I’m just self-conscious enough to feel weird yelling at a TV in public when I’m by myself, so there was that. Not to mention, The Beloved was rarely the main game so there was no sound for the Bears game.

    • CanadaBear

      Brutal.

  • Big Mike

Go Saints? Hardly seems right to pull against the Vikings, given that they are so screwed.. MN pulling off an upset of the Saints, most likely helps the Bears more by pushing the Saints into a bigger hole.

    • johnnywad

Gotta pull for the Vikes today. They are absolutely no threat. Saints could be.

      • MB30SD

meh, fuck the vikings. fuck ’em right in ziggy’s fat face.

  • Trac

    Brownsce! 7-3.

I forgot Julius Peppers was even playing until he just got credit.for “setting the edge”. Good job Julius.

    • Trac

      Julius who?

    • DocNitty(BallsStillOrnamental)

      Dead to me.

  • Trac

Cleveland having no problem moving the rock against Baltimore. Came up 1 yard short after facing 1st and 30.

  • DocNitty(BallsStillOrnamental)

Did everyone hear the Russians bought Pabst Blue Ribbon? Fuckin A.

    • Trac

I always hated that beer. Squirrel piss.

      • DocNitty(BallsStillOrnamental)

Not the point. It’s an American institution.

        • Trac

Competition forced the sale ? That too is an American institution.

          • DocNitty(BallsStillOrnamental)

            Argumentative much?

          • Trac

Just kidding Doc. Blame it on the culture gap.

    • johnnywad

Well that sucks. That’s what my old man drank when I was a kid. Still drink it every now and again for nostalgic purposes

      • DocNitty(BallsStillOrnamental)

And Pabst owns Rainear Beer, which is what I cut my teeth on and is a NW standard. very sad. What’s next, the Ruskies buy the Rocky franchise?

        • AlbertInTucson

When I could first drink beer. The two I wanted to really like were Hamm;s (after watching the Hamm’s Bear Commercials i Sox & Cub games growing up) And Pabst Blue Ribbon.

I found both to be MAJOR disappointments.

          • bearsfantillend

lol Hamms… used to be able to buy that for $5 a case where i grew up.

          • DocNitty(BallsStillOrnamental)

            Hamms the beer refreshing …….HAMMS

          • Trac

My buddies and I used to hide our suds in some bushes at the end of my driveway. Quite often it would come up missing and we would suspect each other of taking it.. I found out years later that pops was onto us and was confiscating our contraband and donating it to his liquor cabinet. lol

        • Trac

Would you still drink it if the Ruskies change the name to Red Ribbon?

          • DocNitty(BallsStillOrnamental)

I don’t drink it now, but I would drink Raineer. Not again though.

  • Trac

Here’s the crazy thing, no way we find out what kind of a team GB is until we play them. I still have no idea about anyone in our division.

    • johnnywad

I do. Green Bay isn’t good

      • Trac

I get that sense as well. Nothing would be better than for us to take them out to the woodshed.

  • Trac

Rams seem to be having their way with the cowboys. Other than the Packers , there’s no other team I get more enjoyment from seeing lose than the Cowboys. Yee haw!

  • johnnywad

For all the talk about Eddie Lacy in August, he blows. He’s not even the best running back on his team. He was ranked ahead of Forte in the preseason positional rankings.

    • Trac

Greatest part about the start of the season is that everyone has a shot. Worst part is that nobody knows how bad their team is until week 7 or 8.

  • Trac

Never saw this coming. g-men putting a 17-3 schlobberknocking on the Texans.

  • Trac

Anyone watching the Browns game? It looks like one heck of a game. No TV, just Sirius radio and Pizza joints.

    • SC Dave

It was good, but in the end, the Browns.

  • Cormonster

Lions dominated the Packers today. Detroit D outscored Packers O. I might have to listen to part of the Packers post-game show.

  • Trac

Dares a hoe lotta missed FG’s out dare today.

  • bearsfantillend

NFL really needs to fix their stupid ass TV rules. less than 3mins left in Eagles/Skins game 3pts differential and they pull broadcasting. STUPID!!!!

    • BerwynBomber

Yeah, that was BS. Iggles ended up prevailing but I sense RGIII might not have his old job when he returns.

      • MB30SD

No fucking way. Cousins is tearing it up.

You could see it in chunky jr’s face in the postgame. He was excited cousins would be taking over.

        • Trac

Sho enough. He got me 40 pts today.

  • BerwynBomber

Our division is imminently winnable. Cheese suck. Porous D and a porous O-line, which is a horrible combination. If you think of our recent history, we never had both at once. Plus, other than QB/Rodgers, we have better talent at the skill positions (and it’s not like Jay is chicken feed either).
Not sold yet on the Kittens. Their D might be best in the division but they have no consistent ground game and Stafford is prone to err. Vikes are toast w/out AP but Cassel going down might be a blessing in disguise; that is, if Bridgewater is the long-term answer.

    • MB30SD

We don’t win the north this year and I’ll be PISSED.

Hey, speaking of, where’s cheesy and his filthy brethren? Hmmm… conspicuously absent the last two weeks.

      Fucking pussies.

      • BerwynBomber

Totally agree about expectations. And though the Cheese rivalry will always be the Cheese rivalry, I think it comes down to us and Detroit this year. Btw, Kittens LBs look a little better than I expected. Nothing spectacular, but decently solid, especially Levy. But as Wad points out, their secondary can be had if a team can hold off their pass rush.

      • Trac

Its looking very promising old chap.

        • MB30SD

          mmmmm, yeeees… quiiiite.

    • johnnywad

Lions D is serviceable. That’s it. The back end of that defense is a bunch of street free agents. I don’t think the general fan is yet aware of how weak the Fudge are. They look terrible to me. Lacy is supposed to be their feature back and he’s not good. His vision, something that can’t be coached, is terrible. I think the smoke and mirrors bit with Rodgers and no Online is over as well. Ratliff will own the middle of that line. (Assuming he’s over the concussion)

      • BerwynBomber

True but a serviceable D, at this point, might make it the best in the division. I’m all for our bend-not-break stuff so far but not ready to proclaim ours as best. Will depend largely on our D-line. If it looks as good as it did against SF, we will have the best D in the North too, or at least as good as the Kittens.
        Good point about Lacy.

        • SC Dave

Yeah, but they have Rodgers. More than enough by himself to beat our asses like a drum.

          • burntorangenavyblue

We have Conte too…enough to help the other team at times………

          • BerwynBomber

Often yes but I don’t think this year.

  • BerwynBomber

Wilson might become the new Brady: a guy who was semi-overlooked in the draft, played smart football for a team built on its D and then developed into one of the league’s best weapons himself.

    • SC Dave

      I doubt it

  • SC Dave

Seattle dbs still getting away with pi every play they dont get called… smart football, it seems

    • BerwynBomber

Nope, football in my book. Tired of the basketball-like calls on DBs. The offenses and WRs already have a ton of advantages in this league.

      • MB30SD

        theece!

      • SC Dave

I’m tired of only one team being allowed to play that way

  • Shady

Best part of the day has to be Lions LB Stephen Tulloch pulling a Grammatica and injuring himself celebrating.

    http://deadspin.com/lions-linebacker-injures-himself-while-celebrating-1637393868

    • MB30SD

      baaaaaahahahaha…. that was turrible

    • Trac

      That poor, poor bastard. hahahaha

  • SC Dave

Packers lost. A good Sunday. Would prefer sea and sf losses, but i dont think its gonnna happen

    • Trac

No kidding. Where have you been?

      • MB30SD

        SF got crushed. hmmmmm…

  • BerwynBomber

Bad mistakes by Seahawks keeping Denver alive. Missed a chip-shot FG and now a questionable offensive series leads to a safety.

  • Trac

Captain blood clot’s gonna bust an artery if the Whiners lose tonight. he he

    • AlbertInTucson

It’ll be the 3rd straight road game coming offf a short week. Tall order.

      • Trac

If not next week, when ? Our fans have been pillaging their women for years now , a lot of good that has done us. It’s time to invoke prima nocta on Rodgers.

  • Trac

Rogers numbers were shy of pedestrian. Gotta believe we can put A nail in their coffin next week. 1-3 would look pretty in the standings.

  • MB30SD

    Man. Crush.

  • burntorangenavyblue

Seattle Seahawks’ worst enemy is themselves. ..dbacks are gonna kill each other

    • SC Dave

      hopefully

  • BerwynBomber

Peyton Manning: still the greatest regular season QB ever.

    • SC Dave

Not watching ATM, but that dude has been amazingly good.

      And, go Broncos!

    • Trac

I disagree. Montana and Staughbach get my votes.

      • BerwynBomber

I specified regular season. Montana gets my vote for best post-season QB.

        • Bender McLugh

          Marino for regular season qb

          • BerwynBomber

Yeah, Marino or Peyton, I’d say, for regular season.

        • Trac

Those guys did pretty damn well in the regular season BB. I can’t tell you how many times I saw Staughbach come from behind in the closing minutes. Don’t forget that back then, defenders were actually allowed to defend.

        • Trac
  • burntorangenavyblue

We got a ballgame! What a play

    • BerwynBomber

Yep, game of the year thus far.

      • SC Dave

eff that… game of the year was last Sunday night in San Fran. At least so far.

  • Shady

Random yet intriguing football moment. During the OT coin toss the Broncos send Manning and Co. while Seattle sends Tararis Jackson. The coin toss, literally the only way Tarvaris wins over Manning on a football field.

  • SC Dave

    Fucking broncos

  • BerwynBomber

Man, SF goes down again. To Drew Stanton no less.
    AZ, btw, leads the West.

    • Trac

Can’t win in this league when your stars are suspended or injured. The telling sign for me is that for the past two games they’ve let their opponents put them away in the closing minutes.

      • bearsfantillend

that would explain why their defense sucks. What about the offense with all those weapons only scoring 14 pts this week.

        • Trac

Easy, Vernon Davis got hurt when they played us and he missed today.

          • MB30SD

            My other man crush. Beast.

          • bearsfantillend

yep forgot about that one my bad. still a lot of weapons on that O. should be able to overcome 1 injury. Kaeperdink is just not what we were lead to believe.

          • Trac

With you on Kaeperdink.lol. That 49er fan I sat next to on the plane thought I was cray cray when I told him that. Its very funny remembering our conversation. He gave me two deer in the headlight looks. One when I told him the Bears were going to beat the niners and the other when I told him that Kaepernick wasn’t all that. hahaha.

  • Trac

This week I officially adopted the Steelers as my AFC team. Love the History and Rapey will be gone soon. Until then I’ll be a silent booster. I’ve never ever adopted another team.

    • MB30SD

      Eeeewwwww. Dirty.

      • Trac

Hahaha. I know but I’ve come close to taking in their dolphins because of their uni’s but they’ve just sucked too bad.

        • MB30SD

I usually tend towards the ravens because of their aggressive D and dark unis but this year… uh, yeah.

          • Trac

I wish they had kept their names and uni’s.

          • MB30SD

Uhhh… huh? You mean the browns?

          • Trac

            Yeah. NFL History and all.

          • MB30SD

            Meh

  • GPLDAN

Good time for Harbaugh to leave for the Wolverines. Hoke won’t last the season.

    • BerwynBomber

Wonder if Captain Comeback would do it. Guy’s been living in the Bay Area for a decade or more. Tough to move back to these climes after a certain point/age, i’d guess.

      • Trac

Are you kidding? You don’t know Jim Harbaugh then. The guy is all about the challenge and the hooplah. I don’t like him that much but you’re not going to find a more competitive coach than him, weather be damned. If the Niners implode, they will let him walk as the word is out that there is no love lost between him and the ownership.

  • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

I think Ike Taylor just broke his arm in half during the Pitt Carolina game. That was fucked up.

  • Trac

A couple of things I came away with after reading some Packers blog posts. 1. McCarthy is an unimaginative play caller and 2. The Packers will be lucky to win 6 games this year. Hmmm,

  • Trac

Alex Smith still proving he can be a very good QB. I thought it was a risky move when the Niner’s replaced him with Kaepernick. The guy is a pretty solid player and had a 136 QB rating against the fins.
