  • DocNitty(BallsStillOrnamental)

Playoff picture? injuries? Home openers? Stadium Christenings? I don’t give a Nutty ass FUCK about all that! This is the Sanra Clara 49ers! I hate these fuckers! Let’s get some!!!!!

    BEAR THE FUCK DOWN!!!!

  • DSupreme

    BEAR DOWN!!! FUCK the Niners.

  • Shady

    DaBearsBlog @dabearsblog
Josh McCown has been beaten by Derek Anderson and Austin Davis this year.

Lovie Smith has been beaten by Ron Rivera and Jeff Fisher.

    • Cormonster

The WR injury really hurt the Bucs at the end. I think they could have grounded the ball with a couple seconds left if the receiver didn’t get hurt. Poor Lovie.

      • DocNitty(BallsStillOrnamental)

        Time management….. Awe the memories.

        • Cormonster

Jeff Fisher has always been a master of time management. He schooled Lovie.

  • bearsfantillend

wow they should make an exception for trestman. let him keep his hat on during the Anthem.

  • tobijohn

    A rather inauspicious beginning…

  • RenoBear

Cut draughn now!!! A hold on opening kick and now a dogshit block that leads to a blocked punt ???? Wtf

  • Shady

Anyone else notice the play clock CLEARLY expired? Dafuq?!

    • FantuzPhysics

It was 00 by NBC standards…not sure what it was on the field

  • FantuzPhysics

Bad blocking by Draughn indeed. We have to regroup now!

  • roglesby

    UH PLAY CLOCK?!

  • SC Dave

    Ugly, ugly start

  • RenoBear

    Wtf it was :00 FOREVER

    • BerwynBomber

      Yeah, we got jobbed there.

  • wreckinball

What’s a couple of seconds on the play clock between friends

    • AlbertInTucson

Anyone think the 49ers wouldn’t have scored anyway?

      • RenoBear

        It was 3rd down… 3rd and 8 is much diff than 3rd and 3

        • AlbertInTucson

Just more room for SF to work with.

          • RenoBear

            I would’ve taken our chances…. Ugh

  • AlbertInTucson

    Welll THAT didn’t take long.

  • FantuzPhysics

Their new place looks like a college stadium

  • Shady

What did Jeff say this week? Our special teams unit is wildly over-criticized? Nope.

    #decamel

  • AlbertInTucson

Blogfathet Tweet: “You could not have drawn a worse start to this game for the Bears. ” But not at all unexpected. The Bay Area Horror continues.

    • bearsfantillend

      yeah you could have.

  • FantuzPhysics

Would like to see Carey a bit tonight for a change of pace

  • wreckinball

Road game nationally televised SF it’s always the same awful

  • Shady

Way too early to abandon the run.

    • FantuzPhysics

      Agreed. We have to run.

  • SC Dave

Too mamy drops on tbat drive

  • DSupreme

The fuck are we doing out there?? And I have ZERO confidence in our D…. FAWK

    • FantuzPhysics

We need a minimum of another offseason for repairing the D.

  • FantuzPhysics

    Peanut!

  • SC Dave

    Not a pick

    • FantuzPhysics

      Come on. That’s 99% of a catch.

  • RenoBear

Are you fucking kidding me???? Call every single penalty ever… But miss a blatant play clock violation…. Wow

    • FantuzPhysics

Agreed. Maybe the Bears should open a new stadium every week and get preferential treatment from the refs?

  • FantuzPhysics

    We need sacks.

  • RenoBear

OH…..guck man our D can’t get out of our own way and get off the fuckin field

  • RenoBear

Well shit I’ll take a fg the way that shot drive went

  • Shady

Terrible holding penalty on Fuller extended that drive, but at least Bears held em to a FG. Offense CANNOT afford to go 3-and out here.

  • FantuzPhysics

Anyone want to give Chris Williams another shot at returns?

    • Shady

Sure, but it probably won’t matter much without guys out front opening holes. They just don’t have the depth.

  • wreckinball

Ok this game is toast. I need predictions on what game the Bears will win. None is a valid choice. I say Buccaneers is first win

  • tobijohn

man, the Bears O isn’t fooling anybody..

    • FantuzPhysics

      No.

  • wreckinball

If Jeffries and Marshall can’t run then put Holmes and whoever in but this O has to stretch it out some

    • Shady

      Just stop.

      • wreckinball

        So more of the same?

  • tobijohn

Is that the Bears’ first first down?

  • FantuzPhysics

Martellus has been huge so far this year.

  • DSupreme

    We needed that shit Bennett!

  • wreckinball

    Will be over turned

    • FantuzPhysics

Good god. Then what the hell is a catch?

      • wreckinball

R you catching a trend here biases officiating

  • RenoBear

    Pathetic

  • Shady

    Terrible. Just terrible.

  • RenoBear

    Even CC thinks it’s crap

  • DSupreme

MUTHA FUCK THIS GAME… FUCK ASS CALL!!!

  • RenoBear

Fuck these refs in their fuckin faces ugh

  • SC Dave

  • Shady

At least we pinned em deep.

  • wreckinball

Homer spot I see it coming

  • Maddbearfan

    • wreckinball

And u know when al and Chris are calling it it’s really really baf

  • johnnywad

    We have weathered the storm.

    • johnnywad

  • RenoBear

Dude he blocked him in the shoulder wtf

  • RenoBear

    These refs are fucking brutal

  • wreckinball

It’s insane I mean come on now

  • RenoBear

We all know a penalty CAN be called on every NFL play… Didn’t think they’d actually do it…. Fuck

  • Shady

I wish the bears would go old school and line up and run it down their throats. Soften em up, take the crowd out of it and then go deep.

  • GPLDAN

Marshall and Jeffery are little old ladies crossing the street

    • i’d help them with their groceries.

  • wreckinball

        • FantuzPhysics

That’s not how you spell his name.

          • wreckinball

Who cares is it a mystery who I am referring to

          • it’s a mystery if you actually like the team. misspelling doesn’t help.

    • GPLDAN

      Ya think?

      • wreckinball

Duh yes or should we keep doing stuff that doesn’t work

  • SC Dave

    Get alshon off the field

  • FantuzPhysics

Put in Kadeem. Let’s pound it down their throats.

  • SC Dave

    Offense sucking balls. Brutally bad

  • Shady

    Aaaaand three and out.

  • GPLDAN

4 flags thrown on that call

  • tobijohn

    How sloppy can you get?

  • Shady

  • BerwynBomber

Well, we’re 2+ in the turnover dept. And the D’s doing just enough. Thus far.

    Well if the refs

    Gertrude Stein

  • wreckinball

Have to get me WRs out there ones that can run and push SF off the line some

  • Maddbearfan

Well. we’re getting the turn overs but got to get the offense going and give the defense a rest.

    • SC Dave

      Offense is terrible

  • AlbertInTucson

    Oooh. A Jared Allen sighting!

  • Bear Down in Tampa

The redneck is out of my doghouse.

  • wreckinball

      • fourtay is a misspelling. jeffries is the wrong name.

        • wreckinball

Do you have anything to add other than spelling?

          • fourtay is good.

          • but he shouldn’t cheat by stepping out of bound like that.

    • AlbertInTucson

The hammy is CLEARLY making Jeffrey is ineffective. They gonna keep running him out there until it gets worse? Enough already.

      • Just so wreckin doesn’t think he’s getting singled out – it’s Jeffery.

  • Jacques Lacan

    Michelle Tafoya’s necklace is questionable…
Trestman looks like Leon Trotsky in a baseball hat.

  • Maddbearfan

Just when you don’t think it can’t get any worse. Sigh…..

    • AlbertInTucson

      Wow. Or or not.

  • wreckinball

    Flag!

  • wreckinball

Holy crap maybe QB draw is the ticket

  • FantuzPhysics

An entire drive of SF penalties?

  • johnnywad

Run plays are wasted plays tonight

    • indeed. but jay needed a play to let his ribs reset themselves.

  • SC Dave

    He should’ve been ejected

    • AlbertInTucson

If Am a Bear D-lineman, Kaerpernik HAS to pay for that cheap shot at some point this evening. If you do OUR guy, we do YOURS. And the first time I am within earshot of tatoo boy, I tell him payback IS coming.

  • bearsfantillend

    what a catch MARSHALL!!!!

  • wreckinball

Awesome maybe we should keep him

  • AlbertInTucson

    WOW.

  • Maddbearfan

That shot against Cutler should receive a healthy fine.

    • johnnywad

If that was Rodgers, they’d take the guy’s balls. Cutty? It’ll be a ham sammich.

      • SC Dave

That wss a red card play

  • johnnywad

A glimmer of hope. Cutty playing smart tonight.

  • Shady

    What a fuxking catch.

    • SC Dave

Makes up for the drops. Sort of.

  • RenoBear

Seriously…. That shot cutler took, I’d be shocked of he doesn’t have a cracked rib. Tough mother f’er right there I don’t care who says what………………… Just hope he comes out after the half

      • Viva

        I did.

      • RenoBear

        This

  • AlbertInTucson

Too outrageous to believe/hope that after all the emotion and hoopla of opening the new stadium that the 49ers just might come out emotionally flat in the 2nd half…?

    • johnnywad

Why else be a fan Al? Here’s to hope.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

the game is still at reach..

    • johnnywad

Gotta have a quick three and out. Build on that last score

  • Jacques Lacan

Quentin Dial hit Cutler like it was a woman. Lynch coming up for the congratulatory helmet slap showed more 49er “thuginess”…

  • SC Dave

    Crabtree killing us

  • wreckinball

    • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

this gives more pressure on Offence

  • Shady

OK offense, here’s where you do your thing.

  • Trac

Wow, it’s only a two score game. No problem, time to break the 29 year curse.

  • Shady

Tillman looks like he’s in a LOT of pain. Not good, poor Peanut.

    • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

it seems he is out the rest of the game

      • Trac

        enter vereen?

        • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

          it´s Mcgray I think

      • Shady

Torn triceps. Same as he tore last season. Gonna be a long road.

        • Trac

He’s had a great career. This is what happens when you can’t draft and our blind squirrel picks get old. No depth.

        • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

Maybe We have seen the last of Peanut.

  • FantuzPhysics

SF penalties are the majority of our offensive yards tonight?

  • Trac

    We need a score baby

  • Jacques Lacan

Harbaugh suffers from existential pain…His close-up shots make me want to send him some Lithium.

  • SC Dave

A td fairly soon would be a good thing

  • BerwynBomber

By and large, the pass protection tonight has been excellent.

    • wreckinball

      Surprisingly yes

  • Viva

Charles Tillman is a great man! I love rooting for him. Hate seeing him walk off the field hurt.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    need to score now!!

  • MattySouthside

Been awhile since my last post, but seeing the end of Peanut’s career is heartbreaking. Great Man, Great Player, All-Time Bear. Sad for him and with him. Thanks for everything Peanut.

    • BerwynBomber

Yeah, hate to say it but Peanut’s injury was kind of a blessing in disguise.

  • DSupreme

    Willie sure is FAST!

    • tobijohn

I think we have the tiebreaker…:)

  • Trac

This happens evra time the “Experts” unanimously pick against us. ha ha

  • AlbertInTucson

When was the last time a Bear team came back from a 17 point deficit on the road…?

    • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

      I have never seen it

    • wreckinball

In SF I will bet never

      • tobijohn

        1985

        • Shady

          Championship boys.

        • wreckinball

In 85 they just thumped them no comeback needed

    • Shady

They just said it was the 06 MNF comeback – They are who we thought they were game.

    • Bear Down in Tampa

They are who we thought they were.

    • Trac

Against franny. Its been a long 29 years.

    • SC Dave

They just put up an all time graphic… 3-140 before tonight.. last one was urlachers will at az in 2006

  • MichiganBearFan

    Snoopy dance!

  • Shady

Football is gonna football. Suck it Harbaugh.

  • Viva

    I BELIEVE IN THIS TEAM

  • johnnywad

I just won a case of beer.

  • AlbertInTucson

High price paid. The defensive injury list is too reminiscent of last season.

    • johnnywad

Ratliff will be back. Fuller may be an upgrade at this point in Peanut’s career. Shea, Conte and Bostic all played well. Arrow is up Al. Not down.

    • BerwynBomber

True but we might have found a new starting CB in the process, although it will cost us some depth.

  • DocNitty(BallsStillOrnamental)

    YEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

    FUCK YES!

The bears own the 49ers in Santa Clara!!!!!!!

    YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

    • Viva

      GET SOME!!

  • Waffle’s gonna have to put two bills on gb next week

    • SC Dave

We can take up a collection

    • Cormonster

I think the Jets are next.

  • Maddbearfan

Wow, never woulda thought…cudos to the back ups!

  • Shady

    I am in shock.

    • johnnywad

Naaaah. You knew they had this.

  • johnnywad

Cutler played as well as I’ve seen him. Super smart tonight

    • BerwynBomber

Agreed. His best game ever as a Bear.

      • SC Dave

He had one against either the Giants or the Eagles about three seasons ago that was truly unreal.

But Jay did play and outstandingly *smart* game tonight. Missed a couple, but in the right way where the ball went past everyone or out of bounds. He did get lucky trying to force one into Alshon, but as I said, overall a very *smart* game by Cutler.

        Way to go, Jay.

        • Shady

Tell me you love the Cutler.

    • AlbertInTucson

Absolutely. Big performance on a big stage.

  • GPLDAN

    You really want Ratliff back.

    • Viva

      FUCK YES

  • wreckinball

    Fuller made the difference

  • Barb UMihai Mar

Great game. Big boys football. I hope they learn from this game. I’m talking about the coaches. This should be the norm.

  • MichiganBearFan

    Now to read Rosendoom tomorrow.

    • SC Dave

      Dont

  • Shady

This was literally the only was the Bears win this game.

    • Viva

      Shady’s been hitting the moonshine.

      • Shady

        Victory shine.

        • GPLDAN

          Trade Wind and rubbing alcohol.

        • Viva

          I need a bib.

  • wreckinball

Much joy in spoiling SFs stadium party

  • Trac

This was a great outcome. 1st place. New beginnings!

  • GPLDAN

Here’s the weird secret of the 2014 Bears:

Some of the backups should start. McCray is more solid than Conte. Brock Vereen is good as the nickel.

I thought a quick dose of David Bass at LDE would have helped Allen get a blow on the long drives.

    • Viva

      Ferguson and Sutton are studs.

      • johnnywad

        And Young

        • Viva

          agreed…

      • AlbertInTucson

Yes but Ratleff was SUCH a force and then got concussed.

    • johnnywad

Willie Young played 17 snaps against the Bills. That won’t happen again.

    • BerwynBomber

Yeah, I don’t know about all that but they didn’t miss a beat when Peanut went down.

    • johnnywad

      Conte played well.

      • BerwynBomber

Agree. His and Fuller’s first pick were highlight reel stuff for D takeaways. Fuller’s second wasn’t bad either.

  • wreckinball

Maybe the new guys on D will be the answer

    • SC Dave

I hope Conte is okay. That was one hell of a pick.

      • johnnywad

        Conte played well.

  • Big Mike

    Told you so

    • Trac

      hahahaha

      • Big Mike

See how I did that. WOW, what a great win. I had little faith, but tremendous amounts of hope.

    • johnnywad

You bastard you. How bout it Mike? Believe?

      • Big Mike

I was waiting to take shit on this. That’s why I posted it. A great Bears win. This is the team I thought we had. Cutler put himself in the conversation with the big boys. I don’t want to hear about SF turn the ball over 4x. We took the ball with exceptional plays on three of those. Defense looked strong. Offense looked wounded but gutted it out. Didn’t see this coming. Had hope, but it was based on being a fan, not anything that had happened in the preseason or game 1. All arrows up.
        Wow!

  • I think getting called soft on national tv fueled that d

  • BerwynBomber

Four-way tie but I think we are decidedly the best team in the North. The Fudge, I don’t think, have near our overall talent. In fact, I think the Kittens are the next talented team after us. Just a matter of playing smart football as we did tonight.

    • GPLDAN

You need Marshall and JEffery to threaten over the top. THere’s only so many teams that can have their secondary muscled like that, the Niners secondary sucks.

Let’s hope they get a lot of leg and hamstring treatment.

      • BerwynBomber

Yeah, semi-agree. That’s why I said after last Sunday that this game wasn’t an automatic SF win. I’m not convinced they are the team they were the last few years and Kapernick can be mistake-prone at times.

      • SC Dave

That Vernon Davis play did not look good for S.F. He may not be right for a few weeks.

        Seahawks losing was good too

      • Barb UMihai Mar

the Niners secondary doesn’t suck. They limited the Bears O for 7 points in the first half without a notable pass rush. If that means they suck then I want the Bears secondary to suck like that.

  • wreckinball

More young and fuller seems to be the answer

    • Barb UMihai Mar

To bad they didn’t understand that against the Bills. Doesn’t it seem like an incredible fuck up from the coaching staff ?

  • AlbertInTucson

Bears: ZERO turnovers. Well, I count the blocked punt as one. And in hindsight, I retract my previous statement. That no-call for delay of game WAS big.And it wasn’t even CLOSE.

  • Augsbier

Pressure on the QB, that was the best part of this game. The D was actually fun to watch in the second half, Who’d have thought.

  • GPLDAN

Think Harbaugh is sad he lost out on Revis right about now?

    • AlbertInTucson

      Piss on Harbaugh.

    • johnnywad

He’s always mad. So yes. Revis wouldn’t have mattered though. Bears owned the Niners in the second half. Both sides of the ball. The Bears played well for one half and beat the Niners at their place.

  • AlbertInTucson

Huge does not BEGIN to describe this win. Give Mel Tucker some credit too. He’s taken a LOT of heat on this blog. Make no mistake. It’s going to be a tight race and this was a CONFERENCE win.

    • GPLDAN

Most frightening thing I will see on tomorrow’s All 22?

      Chicken Dinner playing Strong Safety.

I kid you not. We ran a 4-4-1.

    • Barb UMihai Mar

There’s clear room for improvement. You just can’t have McClellin covering Boldin on 2nd and long with 4 minutes to go into the 4th quarter. That being said the Defense looked as I thought them will look and the play calling was way better…play man with 8 man boxes and blitz all game long. Risk the big plays, but stop the run while creating confusion in order to force turnovers.

  • Bender McLugh

    Fuck yes, simply awesome.

  • AlbertInTucson

    PLEASE let them get healthy.

  • Viva

No punts in the second half.

    • Shady

      Insane.

  • GPLDAN

Martellus also showed the fuck up tonight.

    • BerwynBomber

Martellus, along with Forte, showed up last week too. It was the rest of the O that also showed up tonight: namely Marshall and Cutler. Pass protection was excellent too, even when we were down.

      • johnnywad

Its astonishing how well the line played on the road, with a 17 point deficit, with Ola and DLP pressed into action. Kromer deserves mountains of credit.

        • BerwynBomber

Oh yeah, some of those pockets were HUGE. It was like SF didn’t rush anyone.

        • SC Dave

          In the passing game, anyway

  • Shady

    Great win Trestmaing.

  • Viva

What will Haugh say tomorrow? Bears win despite Jay only completing 50% of his passes in the first half…

  • johnnywad

Fuller and Conte exposed Kap for what he is. A poor passer and decision maker that happens to be a world class athlete. As did Shea. Shea’s sack was the direct result of Kap’s poor decision making.

    • BerwynBomber

      Yep he was badly exposed.

    • Barb UMihai Mar

I disagree on the McClellin sack. He got the protection call right… the G and LT just got beat cleanly. I think they feared a stunt between Allen and McClellin.

  • SC Dave

    1) It was nice to see adjustments at half that actually worked, but after all, this is no longer the Lovie regime
    2) The 49ers fans will (rightfully in many respects) claim the “Bears did not beat us, we beat ourselves”. You know what? I’ll quote Waffle… DON’T CAAAAARE. All that matters in the standings is the Ws and Ls.
    3) Da Blog will be more fun this week than last.

    • Bender McLugh

      Agree

  • MB30SD

    Oh…. well….. heeerrrroooooooo.

    • Trac

Its more than a feelin……you crazy bastard!

      • MB30SD

        BOOOM!

        Told you mothergfuckers!

        • Shady

Where thee fuck have you been?

          • MB30SD

            Watching for once

  • Trac

I’m laughing about that frisco fan I sat next to on the plane. The look he gave me when I told him the Bears were going to beat the niners was priceless. hahahaha

  • Viva

If my Trade Wind victory boner lasts for more than 4 hours I’ll be missing work tomorrow.

  • Shady

Think about how this game started.

    • Trac

Nope. I will not do so again, too painful.

      • Shady

They fucking overcame that shit. ONIONS, Trac. ONIONS.

    • johnnywad

That’s really the thing. How good is this team? They played a miserable half of football and still won, on the road.

      • Trac

We caught a break. Overconfidence on by the enemy gets em evra time. This was bad football, luck, execution, sweet victory all in one. Booyah!

        • johnnywad

That was no break Trac. The Bears beat their ass like a drum for the entirety of the second half.

          • SC Dave

Well, other than that looooong FG drive to go up 20-7 you must mean..

          • johnnywad

Field goal. Not touchdown. They let the Niners kick one field goal in the second half. That’s the Bears D versus the best run game in the NFL. That’s pretty fucking good.

          • Briggs,Shea and bostic looked like different players

          • Trac

I only watched the first half. I left the pizza joint after the blitzkrieg they were putting on our ass and don’t have TV.

          • johnnywad

Well that sucks. You screwed the pooch on that one Trac.

  • Trac

So glad we get to actually talk Bears football next week.

    • johnnywad

You mean in lieu of firing Trestman and Emery? The Fuller pick is looking pretty damn smart right about now.

      • MB30SD

I’m sure you and I don’t want to tell motherfuckers that we told you so… but we told you mofos!

And today buffalo beat the shit out of the team that crushed the pats and they are now 2-0.

        • SC Dave

I did comment about Tuesday or so that maybe Buffalo is just better than the general blog opinion would believe.

        • johnnywad

Damn right. Where the fuck is Johnny? He’s in on this too. I’m buying a giant bottle of Tradewind tomorrow just to celebrate.

  • Shady

    Fuck you Ray McDonald.

  • Viva

    I’m re-watching the 2nd half.

    • Viva

      Bob Costas is a douche.

      • MB30SD

        and chicken neck isn’t?!?!

      • SC Dave

        Wait… really?

  • Shady

Hopefully Fres is enjoying the win and avoiding any sore loser D-bag Niners fans.

  • SC Dave

Well, the “4th quarter Jay” idea got a serious boost tonight

    • johnnywad

Not many yards but Jay was money tonight. No bad decisions. Great throws as needed. Ran the ball when he had to. Threw it away. He did everything right tonight. He also got fucked on that Martellus Bennett reception on the sideline. That was a goddam catch. The Bears will win a shitload of games if Jay plays smart like he did tonight.

      • AlbertInTucson

It just shows what is the most important aspect of the game; Taking care of the football.

I do not understand how a blocked punt doesn’t go into the turnover column.

  • AlbertInTucson

So, Rice Rice is filing a grievance. His point:” I’m being punished for the same thing.”
Guess what? He absolutely has a point.

Unless you can prove Rice lied about it, it’s not his fault you dropped the ball the first time NFL.

The NFL caved in to the lynch mob.

    • Shady

Fuck Ray Rice. Yes the NFL botched the whole investigation/punishment/cover up, but frankly I don’t give a shit if Rice is grieving. He got what he deserved because of TMZ.

      • AlbertInTucson

Bull. His crime was every bit as heinous from the first video.

        • Shady

It’s true, he never would have gotten what he deserved if TMZ hadn’t payed for and released that video.

          • Trac

Heres the thing. Goodell talked to both Rice and his wife and he cut them a break. It was a mutual plea they made to him. He wasn’t thinking punchgate, Big blunder.

          • AlbertInTucson

I STILL don’t get the furor over the 2nd video. She was OUT COLD in the first one, folks, how do you think she GOT that way?

          • Shady

The recent furor is over the coverup or ignorance of the video. People, including myself, were always upset over the joke of a 2-game suspension.

          • Trac

Watching the second video I was thinking, if this guy had of killed her without any witness, he’d of dumped the body.

          • Shady

He acted like he’d done that before.

          • AlbertInTucson

Ray Lewis is lucky there wasn’t video of HIS incident a few years back.

          • Shady

I think there are a LOT of players who are glad they played before cell phones and the internet were available.

    • NewBearInTown

Yeah, I thought the same thing. That’s why the NFL is being so evasive about whether they had the video or not. The totally did, they hid it before to try to brush the 2 game suspension under the rug, the story blew up anyway, so now they’re using the video as the excuse to punish him again.

  • SC Dave
  • Best game since the crown game? When was the last time we beat a quality team on the road in primetime?
The d really surprised me. They looked fundamentally sound with hints of play making, esp young and fuller

    • SC Dave

Shit, Shea and Bostic BOTH resembled guys that knew what they were doing.

      • AlbertInTucson

Bostic DID overrun the Gore TD play.

        • There were definitely some mistakes. Bostic still struggles vs the pass, but heck, even vet pbs like Briggs and Allen make mistakes

        • Barb UMihai Mar

and the 3rd and long David completion. It’s not about how many there are, but how basic. He must improve.

    • johnnywad

Yes they did. So is that what a Tucker defense looks like? If it is, I’m in.

    • AlbertInTucson

AND the last time they came back from a deficit like tonight.

Only “Hints” of playmaking? you grade on a tough scale.

    • NewBearInTown

Saw a tweet that this is the first double digit comeback (I think the tweet said 13 points), in the fourth quarter, on the road, in primetime since… the Arizona “they are who we thought they are” game.

      • AlbertInTucson

        Yes, Al Michaels mentioned that.

        • MB30SD

Al Michaels is a fucking clown

    • AlbertInTucson

This was BETTER than “The Crown Game”. The 49ers are a contender. The Defense and Special Teams won “The Crown Game”. THIS was classic a team effort.

  • AlbertInTucson

I am sooo going to enjoy listening to the 49er radio broadcast of this game.

  • huntinbare

sitting in the victory fog of 3 sticks of Surya Maharaj (that’s the good stuff)….listening to Mr. Marshal talk about speaking positive things into existence….here’s to a brighter outlook going ahead

  • johnnywad

So who thought the Bears would win with Forte having a quiet night?

    • AlbertInTucson

      Oh, SURE I did.

      Not.

Who thought with a quiet night for Forte AND under 200 yards passing from Cutler?

      • johnnywad

I wonder how many times a QB has thrown 4 touchdowns with 176 total yards.

        • SC Dave

          Probably not a whole lot.

          • AlbertInTucson

For sure not in Bear history.

          • EnderWiggin

            The stat almost sounds Luckmanish…

          • AlbertInTucson

Sid was like a son to Papa Bear.

    • huntinbare

I thought the way they were trying to use him in the 1st half was too predictable….Forte is better when he is on the move; but the plays designed for him seem so vanilla,,,is there a way to get him to motion?

      • johnnywad

Probably not against that team. I think it may have been a different story with a healthy Marshall and Jeffery. There would have been a little more room to operate, if the D had to respect those guys a little more early.

  • huntinbare

Please stand up the NFL Network announcer ,who testified on air after last week that the Bears were SOFT; so that I may throw my shoe at you.

    • Shady

      Rodney Harrison.

      • AlbertInTucson

Who, mysteriously, did NOT appear on the post game show.

        • SC Dave

Mysterious indeed. Must be a little soft.

    • Big Mike

And all 7 experts who picked the 49ers

  • Shady

Coverting takeaways into TDs is a great formula for success.

    • AlbertInTucson

IT is a skill a team MUST possess to be successful in the NFL.

  • AlbertInTucson

Did you see Tony Dungy after the game. Cutler gave the Defense all the credit in his post game chat with Ms. Tafoya.

Dungy said “I have to disagree with Jay Cutler…Jay Cutler WILLED his team to victory.”

    • Big Mike

He. Also put himself in the conversation with the big boys

  • SC Dave

Good night, boys. It’s gonna be a good week.

    • AlbertInTucson

Thank heaven I can listen Sports Talk radio this week.

  • johnnywad

This is great. Just great. Going to bed happy. Can’t wait to wake up tomorrow and listen to the coverage and read Jeff’s piece. This is why we immerse ourselves in this game and team. This night, right here. Evening Gents.

  • AlbertInTucson

This is win defines “Team Effort”. Defense made plays and got turnovers. Offense turned them into points. Kudos all around.

  • NewBearInTown

Good night gents. Lots of thoughts I’d love to post in the morning. Like I said, a win like this is makes football memories for life. Bear. Down.

  • EnderWiggin

We almost have to give the game ball to Emery. McClellin, Bostic, Fuller all looked good. Hell, even Vareen, Sutton, and Furgeson looked decent.

    • Trac

Yeah. The funny thing is that I was totally roasting Emery at half time. lol

    • I would give it to the d coaches. They had a plan and coached them up

    • Barb UMihai Mar

Well… he got Willie Young for pennies. That was a steal from when they announced the sign.
3-year, $9m with $3.95m guaranteed for a solid run stopping DE that played 800 snaps in 2013 managing 60 pressures (if half snaps where pass rush that means….1 pressure every 7 pass rushing opportunities)

  • AlbertInTucson

Oh, Brock Vereen, you were SO close to a big play on Tatoo Boy.

    • Barb UMihai Mar

It doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. What really matters is that the blitz was called and it got there.

  • AlbertInTucson

And if the football gods told you “The Bears can only be 1-1 but we’ll let you pick the win” you KNOW you’d take this anytime!

    • Big Mike

Could be a signature win that propels the team to seasons of success

  • AlbertInTucson

BTW, popular Super Bowl Pick, New Orleans, is 0-2.

  • RenoBear

Yes, shockingly enough, McClellin showed outstanding speed in sideline to sideline pursuit, and truly looked like he belonged out there…. *ducks while looking out for objects being hurled by MB30*

    • Shea always was athletic; his problem was not getting swallowed up by linemen

      • RenoBear

Yes, looks like Joe Kim’s work is paying off

        Yep.

So is conte. That int was spectacular. .. he still takes terrible angles and doesn’t tackle well.

Oh and he’s made of porcelain.

I think the play of the game has to be the TD from Cutler to Marshall at the end of the half. The Niners had just taken nine minutes to go up 17-0 and the Bears needed a score before the half to give themselves a chance. Cutler takes a vicious shot to the sternum, comes back and fires a TD to Marshall who makes a ridiculous one handed catch. Play of the game.

    • AlbertInTucson

Just STAYING in the game after that shot qualifies as a “Play of the game” nominee. That was a brutal, “I’m going to take this guy out” cheap shot. EXACTLY what the NFL does not want or need.

Let’s not forget Maurice Jones Drew didn’t suit up for the Raiders today because he strained his labia tweeting.

        • RenoBear

Yep… He’s a true douche-clown..screw that washed up fucker. How did playing on that torn ACL or whatever treat your career asshole?

        • Viva

          Twitter muscles. Never forget.

  • huntinbare

that hit to Cutler’s chest was like the pads from the paramedic that woke this team up

    • Once cuttty got up, I think they rallied behind him

      • Shady

The same members of the media who killed Cutler last week are currently penning an epic tale of his performance tonight.

        • MB30SD

          Pussies

Victory BBQ at the Double Nickel tonight!

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

Hope it is the beginning to a long trip deep january.

Fuller chased down a few plays that were on the other side of the field …he had a pass completed on him and that must have woke up the sleeping giant cause he played so big when they tried to expose him….it was sad to see the tears on p-nuts face but the rookie did him proud…Bennett even gave him credit after the game in an interview….it looks like some close nit feelings are starting to emerge on the D

    • AlbertInTucson

And the 2nd INT wasn’t even HIS man on the play.

      • It was impressive, esp given the context, on road in primetime when we really needed some life

        • Big Mike

          Feel so good for KF

    • Big Mike

An identity. I saw and felt urgency and passion

      • SC Dave

Ratliffe set the tone. Hopefully he is good to go soon.

        • Big Mike

No injury talk until later today. All joy and goodness now. He was a beast. The 2 rookies did well with the extra reps. Wilie Young is the steal of the off season at this point. Will watch All 22 later to get eyes on Lamar Houston. First reaction is that he has not been as good as I thought. But he might not have had a lot reps because of Kapernick/49ers run speed.

  • huntinbare

listening to the analysis of Kapernick tonight…you could substitute the name of Cutler in there for the reasons the 49rs lost and you would have thought you were listening to last monday’s analysis of our bills game

  • AlbertInTucson

Back in the day, the 1960s, the Bears had another ball-hawking corner who wore #23: Dave “Weasel” Whitsell. Whitsell sealed the conference-clinching game on the last day of the 1963 season with a pick six off Detroit’s Earl Morrall.

    • huntinbare

      yes they did…that is a name that I haven’t heard for…….oh 45 years

      • AlbertInTucson

The Bears let him go to the Saints in the 1967 expansion draft. They moved him to free safety where he promptly lead the league with 10 interceptions, 2 for TDs. That’s 10 picks in 14 games, folks.

  • AlbertInTucson

Among the “Sit’em”s for the ESPN fantasy experts was Antonio Gates, who absolutely SCORCHED the Seahawks today for 3 TDs and a pile of yards. Nice call, “Experts”.

  • AlbertInTucson

Carlos Hyde. Bears made him look more like “Carlos, Hide.”

  • bearsfantillend

One thing i loved seeing. Mel Tucker yelling and screaming every time the camera was on him. He is not allowing the crap that went down last week to happen again. he always appeared a little too cerebral on the sideline in the past for my taste.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Kaepernik passer rating tonight; 57.0

  • beninnorcal

Anyone seen Johnny around? He willed this with his Tradewind and gamblings. I was there, best game I ever attended.

  • Barb UMihai Mar

I don’t understand the Rosenbloom hate. He’s article is perfect. Like it usually is.

  • SC Dave

SO many things to like. Maybe the best is that the offense finished both Fuller interceptions. That’s how it’s *supposed* to work.

    • Barb UMihai Mar

The best thing to like is the fact that the defense showed they could have their own identity if they want and are coached to. They have to build on that.
The coaching has to be better. Take Trestman… they must be able to adapt to what the defenses do. If the deep ball isn’t there play like you did last night. Take what’s there. Against the Bills they were forcing and forcing and bad things happened.. as they always do. Tucker has to do the opposite. He can’t let the O dictate what he does. He has to force the issue at all times. risk giving up big plays, but create confusion and force turnovers with blitzing, diverse coverages and formations. The Vereen missed sack was the perfect example… he blitzed from the slot without disguise leaving Boldin alone with McCray coming to defend him from a FS position. That’s what I’m talking about. That’s what I thought they’ll do while watching them in the preseason. Too bad they had to gift the Bills game before doing so. the season can start now as it was supposed to.
