First to make it official. The run begins today boys. Starts with a beat down of the Panthers. We’re going to be feeling pretty good heading into the bye. Its going to be a regular season like ’05 all over again.

    • Trac

Let’s hope that is the truth.

      • MB30SD

        negative nancy.

WWJD trac. I bet he was ALWAYS upbeat.

        • johnnywad

AAAANNNDDD he would know the truth when he sees it.

        • Trac

Jesus would tell the truth MB. That’s why he was crucified. The Pharisees thought he was Mr. Negative.

    • Frank Schoenburg

      Bear down!

    • Big John from Tucson

Yeah, i actually think the Bears run roughshod over the Panthers. So much so that I have started Ka’Deem Carey as my Backup RB in my fantasy league.

      • DocNitty(BallsStillOrnamental)

Wow. Your myopically clairvoyant theories are intriguing to me and I’d like to subscribe to your newsletter.

      • johnnywad

That would indicate a serious ass whippin’. Here’s to Ka’deem Carey having a big day

        • Big John from Tucson

That’s what I’m hoping for. Giving carey some of the load will keep Forte fresh for late season playoff push.

  • CanadaBear

Up way too early but ready to cheer on the Beloved. Really worried about Ola getting exposed and Cutler taking some nasty shots.

    • Shady

Agreed. Forte needs to carry the day to take the pressure off this O-line. Mix in some short routes and quick hitters to get the offense in rhythm. Avoid negative plays on 1st and 2nd down to stay out of 3rd and longs. Keep it simple and efficient on offense. Protect. The. Football.

      • Big Mike

How soon we forget. Cutler survived with 5 shitty offensive lineman. 1 guy at LT that’s not so bad, against an opponent with a weakness there, is a walk in the park. Trestman uses Britton on that side, rolls cutler right. Marshall full speed, Black unicorn dominating, Alshon being all pro and Forte.. no worries on Offense.

        • johnnywad

Big Mike……Back on that horse. Glad to see it.

          • Big Mike

Never left. I just posted above. Losing to the Packers sucks so bad it causes mental injuries. I love this version of the Bears. The arrow is up. The product on the field is going to continue to improve and be playing their best ball in December and January. We knew getting to the break would be tough. Every game is big, the one today is important. Atlanta away is going to be a huge challenge, but no bigger than SF or the Jets. Miami at home is important mostly to give the season ticket holders a break. Can’t be 0-3 at home, New England on the road, big game. win them all and we’ll be dancing in the street. 3 out of 4 and we are going to be in exceptional, exception position. 2 and 2 and we are right where we need to be. That’s all. So let’s get this one.

it will be interesting to see if anyone gets suspended for using HGH (Growth Hormone). The NFL begins testing tomorrow as part of the new drug policy.

    • Cormonster

Canada, check this out. A great song sung by two of my favorite ladies in music today.

      • CanadaBear

Great stuff. Is that babe that plays bass still in The Nocturnals? Here’s my favorite cover of this song. The entire CD is awesome.

        • Cormonster

Great bluesy cover. Cat Popper left the Nocturnals a couple years ago. Before them she was with Ryan Adams. Right now she’s in a band with Norah Jones and someone else called Puss and Boots. Haven’t heard them.

My favorite version of Wild Horses is sentimental. Warren and Grace played it together during Warren’s solo show in Jamaica in a total downpour.

Grace was pretty heavy set when she was a lot younger. Here’s an example with her jamming with Joe Satriani and Stephen Perkins of Jane’s Addiction.

          • CanadaBear

That was awesome. I love Satriani’s playing if he doesn’t go nuts for about 5 minutes. Sound was terrific. It’s cool seeing how much she loves to play and perform. Really comes across.

          • Cormonster

I’ve seen Grace and the Nocturnals at least 9 times and it’s always rocking and full of energy. She gives 100% every show, and better yet she was a nice, humble, outgoing person both times I met her.

      • CanadaBear

It seems like every time I see Grace she’s put on a few more lbs. Still really pretty but getting kinda stocky. Love her singing and playing. Pretty sure she would notice that I’m way fatter than her, even with her poor eyesight!

  • MB30SD

I had an huge epiphany just now gents….

I emplore you game day thread posters, please, PLEASE don’t make this a miserable place to be. There have been some posters recently (wreckinball, SC, Trac) that just bitch and moan the entire fucking game. I don’t care if you want to criticize, that’s fine, just be constructive and bring value. If English isn’t your first language that’s fine too, just proofread your shit before posting. Thank you for your cooperation today.

    • Big Mike

I believe this to be a Packers week phenomena. Regression to the level of the comment section of the Tribune. This is the 3rd season, since I came across the blog. Losses to the Packers are so painful, brain cramps result.

      Go Bears!!!

      • Shady

It started weeks ago, not just last week. That wreckinball clown is the worst, but some regs have wandered into troll territory as well.

    • CanadaBear

I give you credit for hanging in there on game days. When we have a bad game this place is beyond brutal.

      • DocNitty(BallsStillOrnamental)

Yeah. I stop in for a pregame Bear Down and I’m out. Can’t Handle the utter defeatism.

  • GPLDAN

In the first episode of The League, when the Rabbi gets hit by the golf ball – THAT is humor.

  • Big Mike

From Moon Mullins at Comcast Sports… OL is OLA, Slauson, DLP, Long, Mills. Garza did not get his spot back, or.. is not ready. Which is it?

    • Big Mike

      Bears inactives: S McManis, A Dixon, S McClellin, R Garza, C Leno, J Bushrod, J Ratliff.

      • Odd about Leno esp since Slauson is coming off an inj.
Britton package all day I guess. If he goes down, Boggs and TE time.

  • We SHOULD win today simply because we have the better team and Cam is hobbling around with a bum ankle and bruised ribs. Then again, we should have defeated the Bills.

I don’t expect a blow out, but I do expect the Bears to come out motivated.
As others have noted, we’ve improved vs the run and the option. Benjamin will probably get his, and he’ll def pose a challenge to our secondary.

Is Conte starting? Maybe he can sit this one out to rest his glass shoulder.

    Bear down, ladies!

  • the one small hiccup we might have cuz of Bushrod being out is that outside flip to Forte.
Bushrod pulls really well esp for an LT. Gonna find out if Ola can be serviceable.

    • johnnywad

I’m more worried about pass pro. At least he’s got help at guard. Seems easier to pull to the run than pass block. But I’m not a lineman so I could be wrong.

      • Luckily for us, Greg Hardy is out so it’s back-up vs back-up. But yeah, I’m curious about Ola esp since they let go of James Brown, and downgraded Britton for him.
I wonder if Ola has already learned the funneling technique that Kromer preaches.

    • CanadaBear

Run the other direction. I’m with JohnnyW, more worried about the pass protection.

  • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

What creative Alshon reverse inspired play will we score on today?

I predict that it involves Alshon completing the reverse fake with a screen or pass route to Forte

    • Britton package flea-flicker on 3. Break.

    • Big John from Tucson

I always have wondered why Alshon jeffery is so successful in running trick plays but Devin Hester for all he’s worth couldn’t fight his way out of a wet paper bag on these same plays? Even when defenses play it right, Alshon seems to still make positive gains almost every time. I would have to assume that it’s the O-line ? Or did Hester just not give a shit about playing offense for the Bears because he was unhappy in Chicago?

      • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

I think because the threat of Alshon or any other weapon being involved is so real. Can’t focus on alshon

  • Glazier just reported that even if the 9ers win the SB, Harbaugh’s out of SF after the season.
Best case scenario for us, he becomes our DC?

    • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Lol, fuck harbaugh. What a whiny pussy. I just can’t get behind that idiot

  • DocNitty(BallsStillOrnamental)

        The Dude: Look, man…
Walter Sobchak: Dude, please? Is this your homework, Larry?
The Dude: Just ask him about the car.
Walter Sobchak: Is this yours, Larry? Is this your homework, Larry?
The Dude: Is that your car out front?
Walter Sobchak: Is this your homework, Larry?
The Dude: We know it’s his fucking homework! Where’s the fucking money, you little brat?
Walter Sobchak: Look, Larry. Have you ever heard of Vietnam?
The Dude: Oh, for Christ’s sake, Walter…
Walter Sobchak: You’re entering a world of pain, son. We know that this is your homework. We know that you stole a car.
The Dude: And the fucking money.
Walter Sobchak: And the fucking money. And, we know that this is your homework.
The Dude: We’re going to cut your dick off, Larry.
Walter Sobchak: You’re killing your father, Larry!

“Do you see what happens Larry? Do you see what happens? Do you see what happens when fuck a stranger in the ass!?”

        • “Don’t fuck with the Jesus.”

  • Interesting. Mannelly let out another lil nugget. Relayed that Cutty’s very demanding in practice, that he expects his guys to know the game plan down to the T, and that Hester didn’t always get it, so they didn’t exactly gel.

Hester wasn’t always the sharpest knife in the drawer, so I can believe that scenario.

    • bearsfantillend

Hester wouldn’t be the sharpest knife in a drawer that contained only spoons.

      • bearsfantillend

BTW – i loved the guy when he was in Chicago.

  • DocNitty(BallsStillOrnamental)

    Link?

    • bearsfantillend

Doc and the guys that are trying to use a streaming feed. – Maybe look into Slingbox. My brother lives out in Portland OR. This year he bought a slingbox and had me set it up at my house. If you know someone in the Chicago broadcast area willing to set it up, it works really good. It cost him about $300 for a HD model – i think lower end models around $100. No monthly subscription either. He uses it for all area sports. He said its the best investment he has made.

      • bearsfantillend

        another option would be http://www.foxsports.com/foxsportsgo/
if there is someone willing and trusts you to give out their login information for their cable account. it will only show games broadcast in the area of the account.

  • Bears-4-Ever

    Bear Down ya Bums!!

    Let’s Hunt some Panthers!

  • Hate this shit. They COULD show the Bears game on Fox here in L.A.
But instead, they’re showing some Ninja info-mercial.
How the fuck does a major city, the heart of entertainment, rather show its populace a god damn vitamin infomercial over a football game? How does that happen?

  • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

    Penalty…for throwing a block on a punt.

    • Doc Hamstring

Ridiculous. “Blind-side block?” When the fuck did that get added to the rulebook for special teams plays? It’s not like the guy getting blocked was not in on the play.

  • Trac

Attention MB! Attention! If the Panthers clobber our boys, I’m coming for you. Mmmmkay!

If we clobber them, I’m gonna tell you I told you so. Hahaha.

  • RenoBear

Something I noticed… In an article talking about Carolina CB Norman, Bears coaches said ‘we don’t know a lot about him etc’ . I’m thinking to myself, this guy picked us off a few times… Sure enough he picked Cutty off in 2012 reg season game and had two picks against us in 2013 PS game. Ummm you don’t know much about him???? Better watch that fucker today, he may have Cuttys number. That being said, Fuck the Panthers and BEAR DOWN!

  • bearsfantillend

    Well that sucked.

  • Never fails. Da Bears.

  • tobijohn

Statistically, ST might be doing OK but why do there seem to be so many of these idiotic momentum changing plays?

    • Shady

Because they’re forced to bring guys in off the street… and DeCamel.

  • Doc Hamstring

Do you really call that a punt return TD? Isn’t it a fumble return TD?

  • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

I’m done! Can’t do this on an ipad

  • Doc Hamstring

ST problems are worse than D problems. Tucker isn’t the problem: DeCamillis is.

  • Max

That was such a great punt too. Freaking Williams …

  • Nice throw into triple coverage.

    • Trac

I have a bad outlook on the Bears because the more I study our play this year, the more I get concerned.

I really am hoping for them to change my outlook today but they’re not doing a very good job of it so far.

  • Jack Lacan

    Matt how’s your slauson?

  • Shady

How is that not PI? The defender had his back to the ball and had two hand on Marshall? F’ing refs.

    • Doc Hamstring

GMTA. His body was into Marshall’s before the ball got there. Yes, there’s no “faceguarding” anymore, but you’re still not allowed to contact the WR while not playing the ball

  • Doc Hamstring

How was that not pass interference?

  • Doc Hamstring

Not to mention the officials completely blew the fact that the guy was down by contact because Marshall had grabbed his foot on his way to the ground.

  • Doc Hamstring

And the announcers don’t even question the non-call.

  • Jack Lacan

It’s the Cam Newton Show boys and girls.
Wow the Bears GOT a call.

  • FantuzPhysics

    Wow

  • tobijohn

    Finally a break…

  • tobijohn

    Well, now we wait…

  • Jack Lacan

After further review — we as refs in the NFL cannot give the Bears a call…

  • Bostic again looking lost in drop back coverage. He’s really a liability in the pass. They can complete it all day around his area.

  • Let’s hope Cutty doesn’t try to force more shit when we’re already in FG range. We just need to change momentum right now.

  • Trac

That a tough way to convert a 3rd down on the Panthers end. Phew.

  • RenoBear

I’m a bit behind cuz I had to pause the game… I Fucking Hate our Special Teams!!!!!!

  • GPLDAN

Oh come the fuck on Cutty

    • GPLDAN

THere you go thats how you throw the kick screen

  • Jack Lacan

Jump pass? Did Cutler just try a Jump pass????

  • Nice play call, Trest.
Lots of screens in that drive to slow down Panther’s rush.

  • Jack Lacan

Well if that’s available all game — Bears win big…

    • Panthers were blitzing to try to rattle Cutler (Chico might know something).
Trestman countered by calling some screens to take advantage of their aggressiveness.

        • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

fucking 1 score game should be 21 to fucking 0

          • Jack Lacan

Please just once this season – A LAUGHER!!!

  • Bears. Even-steven again.
Specials fucking us. Tucker goes Lovie prevent.

  • Jack Lacan

    John LeCarre…

  • Does Chris Williams know that you’re supposed to run away from a crowd on specials?

  • GPLDAN

    Remember Electric Football?

There are times in a Tucker D that the Bears look like electric football players

    http://www.theunforgettablebuzz.com/

    • Jack Lacan

The vibrating one with the two razor cutting things on the bottom of each player to cut the child.
Or the ancient one — Foto Electric…?

      • GPLDAN

        THe one in the link.

The Linebackers sort of buzz and cover nobody and dont blitz

  • Should’ve been 24-7.
    Instead 21-14.
    Welcome to your 2014 Bears.

  • GPLDAN

    Mike Glennon >>> Josh McCown

    • BerwynBomber

Yep, always questioned the automatic benching of the former. Didn’t make sense. The issue with TB won’t be that Lovie can’t coach, it’s that he’s shit as a talent evaluator and handing the keys to the football operations to him will be a huge mistake.

      • Shady

        Hammer meet nail.

  • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

i’m sorry but he has helped us so much but Robbie helped fuck us from the playoffs last year and that miss will have lasting implications. MAKE THE MOTHERFUCKING KICK YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT.

    • I said it pre-season. Robbie hasn’t looked himself.

      • johnnywad

Isn’t that the first he’s missed this year?

        • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

so, how many games should we let him fuck up without calling him out? the announcers are fucking astounded that it’s a 7pt lead. ASTOUNDED.

          • johnnywad

He misses 3-6 kicks every year. That make him the best or second best active kicker in the league. So one in five games is to be expected. He’s right on track to be the best kicker in the NFL this season.

        • But he missed like two in PS. Not to mention those last year that cost us a game.

    • Doc Hamstring

I’m sorry, the guy is one of the best kickers in history. He gets a pass every now and then.

      • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

not when the kicker on our high school team hits that 9 out of 10 times….in the rain

  • Bears better win. Lions are about to be 4-1.

    • Shady

Lions are gonna Lion. Not worried.

      • johnnywad

        Boom

  • Jack Lacan

Someone — maybe Jeff Hughes — should take “the regulars” on this site to comment and broadcast a Bear game (on cable – so no language restrictions). That’s entertainment. David Diehl is soft.

  • Doc Hamstring

Someone explain to me how Gould missing the FG led to Carolina getting the TD?

Because Carolina got the ball at the 25, about the same place they would’ve, with almost the exact same amount of time they would’ve had if the FG was good and the Bears kicked off after.

You’re telling me the defense was drained emotionally by Gould missing the FG? Bullshit.

That was just crappy soft defense. If Gould hits the FG, the Bears still don’t keep Carolina out of the end zone unless the defense is called (and plays) better.

    • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

you make the goddamn kick like an NFL team. Then they start 24-7 at their 20 with NO MOMENTUM at all. then you get the ball at half.

  • Jack Lacan

    No more blitz from Panzerfausts…

  • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

    lol, it begins

  • Wow. There’s actually a worse teams on specials than us.
Our D needs a stop here.

  • GPLDAN

THats fine thats fine – take the completion to Olsen but they hit Cam, and hit him hard.

  • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

    why is this happening

    • Shady

Defense reverting to pants shitting mode.

  • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

i’m off the board for today because i see the writing on the wall and i don’t want to get crazy.

    • Trac

Is it too late to get some side action? Call your bookie before it’s too late.

  • GPLDAN

They bring 4 and get nothing

    • Shady

They’re blitzing LBs too. Carolina is going max protect and attacking the DBs.

  • Trac

Colts beating the Ravens. Funny thing about the NFL is you NEVER know come game day.

  • Shady

C’mon Briggs, gotta wrap that up maing.

    • GPLDAN

then a face mask from Jones

      • Shady

        Turrible.

  • Trac

    Solid run stop there.

  • Trac

    Unfortunately it’s a face mask.

    • bearsfantillend

      no it wasn’t

    • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

      NO

    • Should be able to challenge that.
Review can tell if he was facemasked or not.

  • GPLDAN

That call on Fuller is some turrible bs

  • GPLDAN

    tie game

  • Trac

There you have it. Tie ball game.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    nothing for all

  • Shady

The ole Tucker hot diarrhea defense.

  • Of course. We can’t possibly win or lose comfortably.
O gets paid the money. They need to score.

    • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

but I was expected, dfence is still a work in progress

  • Trac

    Jays gotta bring it now.

  • Shady

It’s of critical importance the offense responds with at least a FG attempt.

  • GPLDAN

No Bears team in modern history goes hot and cold like these guys

    • RenoBear

      It’s just ridiculous

    • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

well, it´s a young-old defense, Houston is supposed to be the only one in his prime

  • RenoBear

Put something together now boys… I’m tired of unsustained excellence… This is fucking horseshit

  • Jack Lacan

About how many “phases of the game” are off the rails now…?

  • RenoBear

Oh and tucker is completely incapable of adjustments

  • Trac

    Some trickery. Yeah baby.

  • GPLDAN

    WTF?

  • Trac

My bad. PF. I’ll shutup now.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    fuck!!

  • Doc Hamstring

Did the ref just call a “Python block”?

Or is this another phantom “blind-side block” on a fucking run?

    • Jack Lacan

What the fuck is a “Python Block”?? The zebras are nuts.

      • Doc Hamstring

They MEANT to call BMarsh, after he made one block and then put a damned hard shoulder, legally, into another guy. Basically, he got penalized for being a stud and making a great play.

  • Trac

    We got it back.

  • bearsfantillend

    oh a flexing penalty.

  • GPLDAN

    excellent stage fall Jay

  • Shady

    These referees are ridiculous.

    • Shady

      This league is ridiculous.

    • Doc Hamstring

Week in and week out we see refs making bullshit calls. Shady’s right: it’s the league.

  • Doc Hamstring

These officials are awful. That flag on the Cutler hit was BS.

  • Jack Lacan

Now is the time for the refs to inject themselves totally into the game…

  • Trac

    Offense looks back in control.

  • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

i’m done with NFL. i just turned the game off. i’m going to go have sex with my wife. The NFL finally drove me away. Peace out guys.

    • GPLDAN

      Nooooooo!

I’m having sex with your wife.

      (Boom)

    • Doc Hamstring

Give her the stinky pinky, just like the refs are giving the players in this game.

    • Trac

      No false starts please.

  • bearsfantillend

they said earlier that this officiating crew has thrown the most penalties in the league.

  • Trac

    Nice angling run by mattay

  • Scott W.

I think all these new points of emphasis have every ref in the league looking like idiots.

    • Doc Hamstring

The refs are doing a fine job of making themselves look like idiots.

  • Shady

Forte and these blockers really wear down defenses, don’t they?

  • Shady

The toss, really? I hate that play in short yardage situations.

  • Trac

Davis had nice pursuit there. Thought we had it.

  • GPLDAN

Robbie is as hot and cold as the rest of them

    • johnnywad

He’s 6 of 7 this year. He’s right on track and continues to be among the top two or three active kickers every year

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    well 3..

  • GPLDAN

What, is Allen out there playing at 220lb?

  • Jack Lacan

The boys in the back of the room owe us an interception…remember that word…interception — pick your nose or pic six your nose.

  • Viva

I’m in new Hampshire. ..30 minutes to Canadian border…drove an hour to a place to watch game…and they don’t have diretv…I called yesterday to confirm and they said yes…

I haven’t dined and ditched ever in my life, 1st time for everything. .

    • Shady

      Ah yes, FOMF. Sorry bro.

  • No pass rush will kill us again.

    • GPLDAN

      Allen looks permanently pulled

      • GPLDAN

        nope now there he is

  • Doc Hamstring

I wonder why Cam Newton didn’t get tackled there? Oh, that’s right, the Bear lineman was being held. Flag? Of course not! We’re only flagging hard blocks downfield.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    Mcgray is the client lately

    • Shady

      The client?

      • johnnywad

Ghost must have missed you pregame plea

  • Doc Hamstring

Newton is hit inbounds, and everyone waits for the flag. This is the modern NFL.

  • Trac

Run d ain’t too shabby today.

  • Shady

    BOOM there it is.

  • bearsfantillend

bout time we get to him

  • Trac

Get the refs outta your heads guys. We can beat this team, with or without bad calls.

    • johnnywad

Right on. Gonna crawl away to a 17 point win. Bring’em home Jay

  • Scott W.

    Jay Cutler. Matt Forte. Alshon
    Jeffrey. Brandon Marshall. Martellus Bennett.

You know, we should be able to score at will, against anyone.

    I just don’t get it.

    It’s absurd.

    • Trac

It looked exactly like we were doing that before half.

    • Shady

      Penalties.

  • Shady

    Delicious Peaella.

  • Jack Lacan

    Dear announcers it’s called a “stunt”…

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    Huge play!!

  • Jesus. How many fucking offsides can we rack up on O!
    Fuck.

  • Trac

Don’t take a sack Jay. Quick read please.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    have to score TD here!!

  • 3 and 9, let me guess. A dump off.

    • I must be psychic.

    • Shady

Right in front of Kuechley. Why?

      • johnnywad

That was his check. Better than a pic right?

        • Shady

          Yes?

      • Cutler. Aggressive when he doesn’t have to be.
Conservative when he needs to be aggressive.

        • Trac

Just be glad we don’t have Andrew Luck.

        • johnnywad

You want him to be aggressive standing in the shadow of his own goal post? Jesus

          • I want Cutler to stop throwing dump offs on 3rd and long.
Why does he throw it into triple coverage when we’re in scoring position? We got lucky the Panthers stopped themselves, but I wouldn’t count on that in this game

          • johnnywad

You’d prefer he throw it into triple coverage at the Bears 40?

          • When the Panthers are in zone, I expect him to throw it between the windows like Rodgers, esp when given time. Perhaps that’s asking too much though.

          • johnnywad

            It is

  • Trac

Panthers had the right d out for that play.

  • RenoBear

Man at least pump fake and take a shot downfield on that shit… You gotta know keuchly gonna be right there ugh

  • RenoBear

Fuckin saints are TERRIBLE btw… They are gonna cost me $100. Fuckers

  • johnnywad

Jay gets fired on for forcing it down field. Now he gets fired on for checking it down when nothing is there. Robbie gets thrown under the bus for missing one en route to an 86% season. Tough crowd.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    UUFFF

  • Panther’s returning the favor for inept play calling

  • BerwynBomber

A gift of a decision by Newton there.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    a gift before Xmas

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

what a rush by A. Luck!!

    • Trac

Yeah, the guys a bum. He he.

  • Trac

And that’s how you get to the QB.

  • johnnywad

Orton has a world class porn stache

  • Isn’t our high powered Offense supposed to win games?
They never seem to step up in crucial moments of the game.

    • Scott W.

      Yeah, I don’t get it.

  • Shady

    Houston, we have a problem.

    • Jack Lacan

      Wit is always appreciated.

  • Jack Lacan

O yes let’s not become obsessed with the refs…

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

Bills about to tie agaisnt Lions

    • Shady

      Neckbeard.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    have to stop here!!

    • Shady

You are like 5 mins late on the feed there GoSBXX

      • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

hahahaha right Shady, I have a delay in my internet service, but cheering to our team

  • Trac

Thankfully Carolina is calling some sucky plays.

  • OK, Bears O. The defense is tired of carrying you

  • Shady

    Not even close.

  • johnnywad

    Fuuuuuck

  • Jay.

    • johnnywad

Bad overthrow. I think we know what we’ve got with him

  • RenoBear

    Fuck me running

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

what happened with the running game?, why pass with the 3rd. one??

  • Trac

That was a bad throw or WR made wrong cut because they weren’t even close to hooking up on that pic.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    tied again

  • Shady

How about a 5 min drive?

  • Try not to fuck it up Jay. Please, for the love of god, don’t choke again.

  • Scott W.

Mind boggling. On paper, we are unstoppable.

On the field, we are mediocre at best. The other team has to lose, because we have one hell of a hard time winning.

Okay Jay. Earn your fucking check. Enough bullshit mediocrity. Enough.

  • Jack Lacan

Ok…we’re up to thirty “phases of the game” we’re doing weakly…

  • Shady

    Oh no. No. MmMMMmmnNNOOOOOOO!

  • Trac

    Beautiful. Fumble.

  • RenoBear

    And there it is….

  • Scott W.

    Fucking wow.

    What a fucking joke.

  • Shady

D needs to pull a miracle.

    • Trac

Yup. In today’s game you still win with D.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    well…. no words

  • Bears finding a way to lose since 1986,,,

    • Scott W.

2006 was kinda fun. That was only 8 years ago, as opposed to 28.

  • Shady

    Jennings 1-on1 with Olsen? Really?

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

with a TD here, we are toasted

  • Scott W.

Can’t wait to hear our Blog Father’s plea for patience, etc, tomorrow.

This is unjustifiable no matter how you manipulate the numbers.

  • Trac

Still plenty of time if they score.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    toasted

  • GPLDAN

    The Mighty Thor

    • Shady

      Of course.

  • Trac

And Girly Thor just stuck it to us.

  • Scott W.

    Bueller?

  • Shady

Angelo haunting us even well after his departure.

  • Trac

This game is weird. How does this happen?

  • Jack Lacan

Maybe they can run the “feel sorry for the Olsen family footage” — just for Chicago bars…

    • GPLDAN

his son had a heart surgery twice. Do not be a dick, Lacan. At least not today.

      • Jack Lacan

Come on — that feel sorry stuff is so lame in the NFL…

        • Jack Lacan

Let’s hear it for spousal abuse…

      • Scott W.

        He did? Whose son?

        • GPLDAN

Olsen’s son has needed two heart procedures.

          • Scott W.

Wow. Had no idea. Always liked Greg. God bless.

          • Jack Lacan

Of course — but why run it during the game????

          • Scott W.

I think if his son is having heart surgery, they can run it at every break if they want to.

          • Jack Lacan

Yeah and let’s hear it for Short’s book of the month club as well….
            Love those Panthers…

  • I don’t see how Tucker can leave a back-up safety covering Olsen.

    • Doc Hamstring

Well, he wasn’t really COVERING him… more like just WATCHING him catch the game-winning score. Pretty much seemed to be the strategy on Olsen the entire day–don’t cover him.

  • Trac

Carolina is pumped. I predict trouble.

    • SC Dave

The 12th man had their back big time for almost the entire 4th quarter. It made a huge difference.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

I beleved this team can score anyone……not sure now

  • Meow

Ok, cutler is at his best with nothing to lose … Get us in overtime

  • FantuzPhysics

Williams to be dropped on Tuesday?

  • RenoBear

This team fucking kills me… Those dipshit announcers talk about Cutler being Jekyll and Hyde… It’s the whole fucking team man, not him

  • I expect this to end in a Jay int.
    Prove me wrong, Cutty.

    • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

      hahahahaha a faith man…. cmon!!

    • Meow

Bingo. Would love Jay step up

  • RenoBear

Williams… Don’t run straight into the pile

  • GPLDAN

    sad sack

  • Nice sack, Jay.

  • Trac

Not rooking good said the chinaman.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    it´s falling apart

  • GPLDAN

I was sure that was Butch’s pick

  • GPLDAN

    and…. game

  • Trac

    Yup. Bears suck.

  • Perfect ending. Cutler shits the bed. Forte shits the bed.

    • Shady

      Troll.

    • GPLDAN

      expect asshole Jay post game.

      • Big Mike

        Dismissive cock sucker

    • Big Mike

Trestman shit the bed. DeCamillas shit the bed. Tucker shit the bed

  • Shady

Offensive line just fell apart there. No chance.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

I´m worring, it´s not just defense, it´s all three phases.

    • GPLDAN

yeah, this just isn’t a good team

      • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

needs to regroup, but still two weeks before bye week. Trest needs to pull this team or we are done before midseason.

    • Our offense just racks up stats. It doesn’t win.
Our D actually is middle of the pack. That should be enough.

    • Trac

Been trying to tell evra one but nobody wanted to see. I mean who likes to admit we suck by week 4?

  • Jack Lacan

Oh yes, the phases…of the moon…

  • GPLDAN

    DaBearsBlog @dabearsblog
Sorry folks but here’s the truth: Bears are not good.

    • Can a blogger troll his own blog?

      • GPLDAN

not sure but if it is possible then Jefe is the guy to do it

    • Big Mike

Cutler r is just a guy.

      • johnnywad

I’m beginning to feel the same. I really have been in his corner but its more difficult with every game.

        • Big Mike

I know it sucks. His flaws make him average

          • johnnywad

We can only hope he’s at his best and puts a run together late in the year

          • Big Mike

Hope is all a fan has

  • Viva

    Fuck me.

  • Big Mike

Say what you want. I’ve been a Cutler dan and supporter from the get go. But I’ve also said this is the year where he had to prove if he is a top ten QB or just a guy today he proved he is a guy

    • GPLDAN

      Jeeeeeeefffff George.

    • BearFanInDE

Yep. Wait for the upset responses.

    • BearFanInDE

      Detroit lost to Buffalo

  • Scott W.

Hat’s off to the entire board, and every Bears fan in the world.

    You define loyalty.

  • RenoBear

This is the beer and frustration talking, but FUCK, this is a sad, stupid football team right now. I think they will get better, but confidence is a little shaken right now.

    • Big Mike

My rum and coke brain says they suck. Where the fuck were 15 and17 .

      Where was the killer instinct.

Fuck me. Bears sucked a cock today

      • RenoBear

That’s what really pisses me off the most… ZERO killer instinct. And our biggest players have been disappearing when it matters most. Every. Single. One. Of them

  • GPLDAN
    • Scott W.

      Well said.

  • AlbertInTucson

I did not see this coming.

“Bad” does not begin to describe this loss.

    What a team effort.

    Offense. Defense. Special teams.

They all have their fingerprints on this.

    Absolutely disheartening.

    • Shady

      Yup.

    • BerwynBomber

I thought the D played reasonably well. They kept giving the O chances.

  • AlbertInTucson

This begs the question: How in the world did they WIN two games?

    • Scott W.

They didn’t. SF and the Jets lost.

      • BerwynBomber

Or Geno Smith and Colin Kaepernick.

  • GPLDAN

Time for Buffone and the Tomahta can rant

    • huntinbare

He got to calling us tomahta cans quicker this week…happened about the 3rd caller….i felt much better after that

  • johnnywad

That Lions kicker is the only thing keeping me from eating a shotgun right now

    • Shady

      He’s so bad.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

needs to regroup, but still two weeks before bye week. Trest needs to pull this team or we are done before midseason. today it was couching fault

    • Big Mike

Did not give the players a chance to win

    • SC Dave

Disagree entirely. Players have to make plays and not turn the ball over.

  • RenoBear

This team feels like like three distinct different teams with no cohesiveness as a 53man team. Each unit is it’s own ‘clique’ and it feels like it can keep fracturing deeper and deeper. I can see finger pointing happening soon if they don’t start winning… Again, probably the beer talking

    • Big Mike

      Agreed

  • Shady

    Da Bills!

    #Neckbeard #SammyWatkins #Carpenter

  • BearFanInDE

    Detroit lost to Buffalo!!!

  • Lions K Henery missed like 3 fgs
    Bills K nails a 57yarder lol
    Well, small consolation

  • AlbertInTucson

I wore my Butkus Jersey for THIS?!

    • Jack Lacan

      A haiku for you…

  • Jack Lacan

I just want to say that after the missed field goal — (and I’m a Gould fan as much as anyone) the Bears looked like the Hindenburg airship and Lakehurst…

  • johnnywad

I formed my thoughts on this season based on the premise that the offense would pick up where it left off. So much for that. Through five games, both units are pedestrian, and ST is awful. I’m now removing expectations and just enjoying one game at a time going forward.

    • Big Mike

      That’s where I am.

  • Big Mike

Here’s some perspective. This is really a Wednesday post. It was a road game. Still only need to get to 4-4.

And a day watching the Bears and drinking with buddies is a good day.

Also where the fuck were Marshall and Alshon

    • BerwynBomber

Alshon was there in the first half. But yeah, Marshall just about nothing the whole game.

    • Scott W.

Love the positive attitude, but personally I am tired of having to forever put the Bears’ efforts into perspective.

      It’s become a nauseating exercise.

      • Big Mike

But yet we love the Bears

    • Doc Hamstring

      Where the fuck was Bennett?

    • SC Dave

It was a *beautiful* day in Charlotte, which was the best thing about today’s game.

  • MB30SD

Sigh…not sure what to think trying to stave off being negative

    • Scott W.

      Just don’t fight it.

      Vomit. You’ll feel better.

      • Trac

        Haha

    • Big Mike

      Enjoy each game

  • BerwynBomber

Team loss but I’ll throw the D a small bone in that they seemed to come up with enough stops for us to either pull it out of the fire if not ice the thing. And the D-line showed some pressure at times, though Newton has a slow delivery which helps.

    • Scott W.

That, and he was practically playing on one leg.

I’m disappointed we didn’t sack him 6-7 times.

      • Doc Hamstring

Agree. There was no reason to fear the running game; the D-line should’ve been all over him.

  • Jack Lacan

We lost because we did not get enough points.
    Monty Python

  • BerwynBomber

Btw, can’t defend either Jay pick today. First one was forced into 3x coverage and the second sailed on him.. First was PI but a risky pass nonetheless.

    • Doc Hamstring

2nd should have been PI or at least illegal contact called on the guy who tripped up Holmes before the ball got there. Holmes running clear at least gets a hand on the ball; instead, he’s not far enough downfield and thus overthrown.

  • bearsfantillend

    wow that was putrid.

  • Cormonster

I am done defending Jay Cutler. I have ALWAYS gave him the benefit of the doubt, and strongly defended him on the blog and to all my Packer friends, but I’m done. He’s a slightly above average QB in the NFL until proven otherwise. He may be damaged goods already.

    • Big Mike

      Just a guy

      • Trac

Exactly. It is what it is.

        • Big Mike

🙁 you think he realizes. That tiday is the day Intelligience Bears fans realized he was average?

    • BerwynBomber

I’ve always thought that is where he sits in the NFL pecking order. A top fifteen guy, slightly above average. Nothing horribly wrong with that. Still arguably the best we’ve had since Luckman.
Why do you think he’s damaged goods? Accumulation of hits?

      • Cormonster

Too many systems, too many hits.

    • CanadaBear

I gave up after that Buffalo game. Not going crazy about it either way. BB pretty much nailed exactly how I feel about him. About like Stafford. Oh well.

  • Trac

You know what’s worse than losing? Complaining about the refs. There’s just something un-American about it. I’m not directing that post at anyone, just making a general statement.

    That is all.

  • Trac

Here’s my net net. Surprising the D played well overall, we just kept shooting ourselves in the foot on offense.

Oh and Carolinas d adjusted well. Props to Olsen. He wanted the win worse than we did.

    • BerwynBomber

Other than the Cheese game, the D has played well enough. Looks improved from last year and some of the kids look good — Fuller (obviously) but even Ferguson and Sutton at times.

  • Big Mike

The good news is playoff pressure is gone.

    • Trac

      Draft high? Yes?

      • Big Mike

Not pulling against them, but anything they get is a bonus. 8-8 in the cards. Trestman’s credibility at stake.

  • MB30SD

you know… there’s been a couple years in recent memory, NYG and Pats come to mind… where they sucked the first half and had bad records. Then came alive in the second half and either went to the playoffs or even won it all.

I am not ready to believe we won’t pull it together enough to sniff the playoffs. Not sure we can get hot and win one there, but I think we start pulling things together and we make it in on a wildcard birth.

The NFL is a crazy plaaaz erra week, and with the talent we have, I think we make it happen.

You guys who are so down… I’m a little disappointed. Have a little….. faith. (hhhHHHHMMMM?)

    • Trac

      Great attitude MB.

      • MB30SD

Yeah, see above. Trying to be good.

    • tobijohn

Well, I might be on your bandwagon for now MB but anymore like this and I’ll be starting to look for some soft turf along the side of the road to cushion me when I jump off…

      • MB30SD

I get it tj. I’m really trying my hardest.

We all want to be a perennial powerhouse, but fuck. Losing to a Carolina with an injured cam and no rb is rough.

I didn’t see the game so I can’t speak to anything. Except the final score.

        • CanadaBear

It was a pisser. New guy (Teddy Williams) blows up the return guy, nobody picks up the ball for a second and the guy was off to the races. Offense was hot for a while, couple of Cutler picks, Forte’s fumble at the end. Game, set, match. Whenever we needed to step up on O, D or ST’s we either didn’t get it done or totally fucked it up. Looked disorganized and unprepared.

    • Big Mike

      There’s always hope.

    • AlbertInTucson

OK. It’s hard after watching today’s performance, , but, OK.

    • beninnorcal

      ‘So you’re telling me there’s a chance’

  • wreckinball

Disappointed couldn’t see the game Tracking the score on Espn What happened to the O in th 2nd half?

    • BerwynBomber

TOs and couldn’t convert third downs.

      • Trac

Also Tresty dialed it down too much I think.

        • BerwynBomber

Yep, fell in love with the screen and dump-offs a little too much, but hey, was working well in the first half.

        • wreckinball

Once u get them down u have to finish Sequence at the end of 1st half was a killer

        • SC Dave

I did notice that we did not try too hard to stretch the field, and it might have helped to do so.

    • Trac

Yeah me too so off I went to Buffalo Wild Wings for the 2nd half and some disgusting food. I guess you’ve got to have a buzz to not notice how nasty the food is. So glad I made to trip. Nawt!!!

      • MB30SD

        That place. .. BLOOOOWS!

        • Shady

The carrot and celery sticks are out of this world!

          • Trac

            Hahaha

          • MB30SD

they actually are the best thing on the menu, cause you can get all the different sauces and try them all. Their real food sucks.

      • wreckinball

        Good beer though

    • Big Mike

stuck heads up ass. Cutler checked down a lot, over threw Santonio, 2 big turnovers, basically got conservative and took it up the ass

  • CanadaBear

Well that sucked. Was it just me or was Thom Brennaman actually cheering for the Panthers? They definitely didn’t have any more human interest pieces about the Panthers if it went to OT. Glad to see the horrible officiating isn’t limited to just one crew. FUCK!

Their DL controlled things in the second half after Kuechly started shadowing Forte. Trest didn’t seem to have an answer for that. We aren’t going to beat any good teams unless we win the TO battle. We sucked in almost every phase at one time today. The only one that seemed to have a good game was the punter. Even that got mucked up with the new guy blowing up the return and nobody else seemed to be awake. FUCK!

Oh well. Parity is our friend.

  • Scharfinator

    Sad, sad performance.

  • bearsfantillend

    can we trade for KUECHLY?

    • BerwynBomber

Save Rodgers, Kuechly’s the best player we faced this year. Dude is the goods. As CB mentioned below, Carolina (smartly) had him shadow Forte in the second half and it pretty much stuck our O in neutral.

  • Ososfan

Are we the Detroit Lions of the NFC North now? Talent but not real aim or discipline. The god Damn laughingstock………

    • Big Mike

Might be. Say what you will, but Lovie’s teams never, ever fucked themselves like this group.

      • Trac

Lovie curse was different. Like not game planning for the cheese game when we could have kept them from the playoffs the year the packers won the SB. And not resting starters in blowouts that would end up getting hurt and for hiring Mike Tice and Martz. Lovie’s Achilles heel was front office and bad personel decisions.

    • Trac

Key word is discipline. Mainly on offense. Fortes Fumble happens and its part of the game. Cutty played a great game except the 2 picks. One fo sho was way off target. This game reminded me of the buffalo game. Coulda woulda shoulda.

  • MB30SD

Hey, at least it’s looking like Rex Ryan might be available to he our DC next year

    • Trac

Tucker’s got our squad playing better and Fat Rex’s D got gassed again. Besides, Sanchez broke him as a man. Hee hee.

    • Doc Hamstring

Yeah, I’m rooting for everyone who plays the Jets this year.

  • Big Mike

After 5-6 years, I’ve come to the conclusion that Cutler is not a winner. Big Mike out.

    • Shady

And to think you were so positive this morning.

      • Trac

Shady shady shady. He was being a good soldier, he’ll shake it off.

        • Big Mike

Still love the Bears Still optimistic. Just commenting on what I saw. cutler is a guy. We can win with that. He’s just a piece of the puzzle. Not the answer key

    • Scott W.

After today, and 6 years of letting Cutler make me neurotic, my expectations have finally landed on planet earth.

I don’t expect him to lead us to the Superbowl. He’s just not that guy, anymore than Flacco was for the Ravens. Jay is an NFL QB, as most of you have said, somewhere near the middle of the pack.

With the weapons at his disposal? He really should be LOOKING better than he actually is. For that, he pisses me off. He’s wasting the best ball movers in the league. That might put him lower than the middle. Maybe bottom third.

We are stuck with him. That’s disappointing.

The D will improve as the season goes on, I’m sure, but not enough to save the Offense. Briggs is on his last legs, Allen was done last season as was Peppers for that matter. I still don’t even know who the hell Shea McClellin (sp?) is.

You guys have no idea how much I listen to you, and learn. Now, I know to just let things ride for 2014. We are mediocre, and no threat to anyone on a playoff level.

      • Big Mike

        Agreed

        • Duke Dickmann

Really? Cutler might be the best Chicago can get? It’s your organization’s management that fails to correct this situation and has failed to do so for the past 6 years. When the Bears signed Cutler to another contract we were as happy as you were. As previously stated you have ball movers on your team, some of the best in the league. I know because I watch your team play mine twice a year.

          • MB30SD

Dick head packer fan on the wrong blog?

      • Doc Hamstring

Here’s the sucky thing. Regardless of how you feel abotu Cutler, how are the Bears going to find someone better? The draft is a crapshoot. Pick up some retread? Certainly not develop someone.

Cutler might be the best Chicago can get.

        • Scott W.

Far as I can tell, we’re stuck. So are a lot of teams, and we aren’t as bad off as some.

That, sadly, is the good news.

        • bearsfantillend

Cutler will be the starter till atleast 2016. The cap hit of getting rid of him before then is too great. I was hoping to see a better performance out of him so far this year. Today he decided to go conservative with all the check downs which baffles me.

    • SC Dave

      I hope you’re wrong.

      • Big Mike

        Me too

  • Trac

I’d like the thank Dave and Yonny for keeping it together. Remember the 24 hr rule.

  • Trac

Some of you guys may not agree but I thought we played our best overall game of the season today. We got sloppy and ran up against a solid D in the second half. I thought for sure we’d tie it up at the end. Good teams find a way to win games like today’s though.

    • BerwynBomber

Carolina’s D isn’t all that this year despite Kuechly confirming he is one of the best. Our own D played half-decently. Created turnovers and provided stops for the O. Should have been enough.

  • SC Dave

My perception from the sw corner was that the two best players on the field *today* were Luke Kuechly and Greg Olsen. And in close games, when the two best guys are on the other team, you usually lose.

  • MikeBrownhadaPosse

So when does this team quit underachieving? Because it was pretty obvious in the first quarter that they should have blown Carolina out of the stadium.

    • Shady

I have to admit not starting a QB in a two QB league was a bold move, Posse. Not sure it’s gonna pay off for you though.

      • MikeBrownhadaPosse

Can you tell I’m tuned out on that league?

        • Shady

          It’s week 4!

          • MB30SD

            Ruining. The. Game.

        • Yeah, man, you still have a good team. You’ll just have to get a scrub QB somewhere

      • Not sure it would’ve mattered since I’m up by 45 points, but you never know.

  • Scott W.

When Matt Forte is your leading receiver, and you have Marshall, Jeffrey, and Bennett in your lineup?

Either your QB is only half there, or your play calling has been over thought to death.

We have a cohesion problem, a QB problem, a safety problem, and an age problem.

What we don’t need is our coaches to believe that football is really just full contact calculus.

  • wreckinball

Good teams regroup example Patriots Bears need to

  • GPLDAN

    Brady washed up? Hmmm…..

    • AlbertInTucson

“Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.” – M. Twain.

  • huntinbare

Where is the heart and soul of this team…..they behave like analytical wall street hedge fund managers who can explain away mistakes showing little or no emotion knowing they already got theirs….They appear as if this foray into sunday football attire is little more than a meaningless venture that no regulator would ever lock them up and throw away the key for….we only have to hold on for a few more months then it is off to the islands to deposit our winning$….all the while those of us who are invested in the market of wins and losses ….of pride and tradition…of bragging rights and playoffs get screwed again by the fat cat stars we trusted our hearts investment with as they roll over and fart out another stinker..
I want to see some tables, water coolers, helmets, golf carts, fans, heaters, windows, mirrors, lockers, sinks, toilets, doors, walls, all seriously violated…Just once could somebody do the Christ in the Jewish temple meltdown…whippin the sh#t outta stuff…the Zombrano water cooler molestation…the Durocher phone dismantling and heave onto the astrodome infield….Somebody on this team show me you care some other way that does not resemble polite….show me a leader who can rally the troops and step up ….. get some heart and soul into this boring group of professionals….LACKLUSTER AND LEADERLESS…..3 swings at the L word ….LOSERS youoooooorrr out.

    • GPLDAN

      Bring back Ditka.

      • huntinbare

That is the presence we have lost He had a huge heart…

      • Shady

Maybe he can bring in some Motorwerks free agents to help him win more Championships. Ass.

    • Shady

They’re 2-3, Hunti, one game back in the division. They’re not going to panic. Sucker or DeCamel may throw some chairs, but Trestmaing won’t overreact to one loss relatively early in the season. Like Jeff said the other day, stay around .500 and find a way to play your best ball late.

  • wreckinball

    Have to play angry

  • wreckinball

Pats are administering an ass whooping

  • GPLDAN

Bears don’t need some Walsh disciple, cerebral chess wonk. Kromer is the reason the O clicks as well as it does.

Tucker? Everywhere that guy has been has been a below 25th ranked D. Everywhere. So he comes here and he’s a failure and this is a shock to us. O coaches are making adjustments and Tucker is wiping his ass with Korean handi wipes.

    • BerwynBomber

D did enough for us to win. I won’t defend Tucker specifically, but they created three turnovers, a couple of short fields and made enough stops for the O to salt the game away. The O didn’t.

      • wreckinball

Let’s face it O has to be flawless because the D sucks 31 points! But it is what it is O has to be better because they can be D is just bad and unfortunately won’t get better

        • BerwynBomber

          24. Carolina scored seven on the opening punt return. And I believe 17 of Carolina’s other points came as a result of turnovers by our O.

      • GPLDAN

        31 points.

        • BerwynBomber

As I said below: Carolina scored seven off a punt return and I believe 17 of their other points (though it may have been only 10) came as the result of turnovers by our O and short fields.

  • wreckinball

    DC Singletary

  • wreckinball

    Bungles some things never change

  • wreckinball

    Pats fullback us a beast

    • AlbertInTucson

      Fullback? What’s that?

  • BerwynBomber

The only bad thing about the Kittens losing was Gym Shorts being carried off the field by Buffalo players.

  • wreckinball

    Bungles alive?

  • Cormonster

No team made it to 4-0 this year. Lots of parity in the league. Bears can still get their shit together and make the playoffs, but I am seriously doubting it.

  • EnderWiggin

Averaging over 100 points per game and still 0-5… What do Adrian Peterson, Vernon Davis, and Moreno have in common? Answer – I drafted them.

  • Trac

I thought God got Jeff. The blog didn’t exist for ten hours. Lol.

    • MB30SD

I thought Haugh finally got his revenge.

  • MB30SD

    “DaBearsBlog @dabearsblog
. @nb182 This is point of my monologue. If you build a team around offense and offense plays poorly, you are going to lose a lot of games.”

It pretty much all boils down to this. All offseason we said, ‘if the D can just be mid-pack, 15-20 area, we’ll be dangerous.’ But this assumed the O would be one the same plane as last year, they haven’t been. That’s what we’re seeing now.

BTW, for me personally, the reason for that is all BMarsh. It seems like the injury and the negative press has gotten him into a bad spot. I have to admit yonny was partly right. I think if bmarsh can heal up and get back on his positive plane, we’ll come back into form.

If the O can play at a similar level to last year, the D stays healthy and keeps improving, and specials can just be solid but not spectacular/shitty like they have been up till yesterday, we can pull this year out and get a wildcard berth. Bearrrrrsssssss.
