Another Team at Chicago Bears Game Thread

| September 28th, 2014

Packers' Rodgers is sacked by Vikings' Allen during the first half of their NFL football game in Minneapolis

Three Final Thoughts

(1) Unless Cutler goes 31-37, 385 yards and three touchdowns and the Bears lose a shootout, the quarterback will be the story today. Sometimes the NFL is not about Xs and Os. Sometimes its just about about one guy putting a team on his back and saying, “We’re not losing today, fellas.” That is what Cutler needs to do today.

(2) Bears need Jared Allen. They need his presence and they need his production. If he misses the game due to illness or is limited due to weakness, the Bears will need heroic efforts from Young and Houston.

(3) Mike McCarthy likes to be creative with his special teams calls against the Bears, especially at Soldier Field. Bears should be careful every time the Packers line up to kick/punt and be wary of the Packers overloading the Bears right side when P.O.D. is dropping back.

Great comment on special teams Jeff. He’s pulled our pants down before with trick plays. First to say Fuck the Pacers today.

    • johnnywad

I hate the Pacers too Mike

  • Trac

Today, all things become new! Go Bears!

  • Scharfinator

    BEAR DOWN!

  • Alright god damn Bears. I’m writing this at 7:30AM pacific. I came home last night to be nice and rested to watch you today. I could have slept over at a motel with a hot chick and had dirty unfathamoble motel sex all night. The kinda sex the person next door starts banging on the wall about except he doesn’t because he’d rather just enjoy the show and whack one off in his cold lonely dark room.

    So you better win, Bears.

    That is all.

    • GPLDAN

We need a picture of the chick to decide how much to berate you.

      • haha I can’t think of a celebrity double off the top of my head.
        MMMBEARCE

        • GPLDAN

Are we talking Kristen Dunst (who is skippable for Packers week) or ScarJo, who is never skippable even if it’s the Super Bowl kickoff and Hester gets the ball?

I say that because I actually stopped a chick I picked up Super Bowl Sunday ’07 from her antics shall we say, so I could watch Hester take it to the house. Priorities.

          • More the former not the latter, for sure.
            A solid L.A. 8, but no ScarJo.
Nice petite 23 yr old brunette.

Haha GP pulling a Ghandi, sacrificing fleshly temptation for the greater spiritual release that is Da Bears.

          • MB30SD

            I need a textpic please.

As you know, I am the one on the blog who shall reign down the ratings from my righteous seat in the sky.

          • Are you kidding? You’re like the Simon Cowell of judging women!
But I’ll send one over perhaps later, though she’s no lingerie model/astro-engineer-doctor like your internet gals.
            Ding!

          • MB30SD

I shall be hard… but fair my good man.

I do understand that my exacting standards are sometimes a bit on the overboard ridiculous side, but alas, I hold myself to those same exacting standards.

for the record, I give myself a 5…….. for inches thick my penis is. Hahahahaha

          • CanadaBear

Not a big fan of saggy tits?

          • MB30SD

            jesus, who is?!!??!

that shit is my kryptonite. The chick could be a 12 everywhere but there, and I’m within a split second of the unveil… all the way out.

It’s like buying the car you’ve always wanted, let’s call it a ’64 lincoln continental with everything redon and looking amazing, only to take it into the shop for a ticking sound to find the chassis is rusted throughout.

            Soul-killing.

          • CanadaBear

It never stopped me but definitely disappointing. I’ve squeezed and led with my face into fake tits (strippers, of course) but never have had sex with a woman with fake tits. For some reason, the girls with fake tits never took a fancy to me. Can’t say that was ever an issue for me!

          • MB30SD

I have been with quite a few, and if they’re done well they look AND feel amazing. Love them. I don’t mind even if they’re poorly done as long as they’re big.

My friends all think I have a boob fetish I like them and put so much weight on them (no pun). I will literally let a 6 turn into an 8 in my head if she has amazing (big) tits. On the other hand, I’ve gone from being totally into a chick that’s a 8+ otherwise, when she unveiled bad boobs, to being totally disinterested. Yeah, I know that’s shallow and that you can buy them, but that’s not where I am right now. I’m just looking to rent for the night, not buy.

Just something about them. When the chicks sitting on you in a chair and they’re nice ones in your face, there’s nothing better than that.

    • MB30SD

God damn you. You are supposed to consult with your attorney on things like this. Why did I not get the text?

I would without a doubt have told you that you can, and should, do both. Please let the court records show that I object to this line of questioning! This may even be badgering the witness! or tampering with evidence, or something!

      • I would’ve consulted you as my attorney, but a Jew Attorney? I didn’t want to turn you into a stereotype.

        • MB30SD

it’s dick-shoes for you from now on. smh

(and what other kinds of attorneys are there?!?!?)

Also, it’s a blog foul, a flag, 10 yards and loss of down, AND -100 blog points for dropping something like the above without providing the official blog rater with a shred of evidence.

          • BTW, I still stopped by her room. I just didn’t sleep over.
            I’m not THAT crazy.

          • MB30SD

ohhhh, very nice very nice. a little top and tails eh govnah? A little howz ya faatha? A little rompy rompy, just the tip just the tip? very nice very nice.

          • Just the tip.

          • CanadaBear

Disregard my previous post. You’re the whore I thought you were. I mean that in the best possible sense!

    • CanadaBear

Butch, Butch, Butch, you have strayed from the path of whorishness. Three little letters would have spared you this dilemma, PVR. I’m blown away by your dedication to the Beloved. I’m just as blown away (actually more) by your willingness to sacrifice your libido. I will never doubt your dedication to The Bears!!!!!!!

      • MB30SD

        it’s not right… right?

I wholeheartedly do NOT, and cannot, approve this message.

        • CanadaBear

I like the Bears as much as anyone on this blog but when I was single I would never have passed up some trim to watch the Beloved. Needless to say I wasn’t exactly Lance Romance.

          • MB30SD

            theece.

Me thinks there is more to this story. Hmmmmm… where’s columbo when you need him?

          • CanadaBear

Have to admit, Butch definitely got my attention when he said she was bi.

          • MB30SD

hahahaha… I have yet to cross that one off my bucketlist. I’m told you can’t force it, you just have to be in the right place at the right time and it just magically happens.

So I shall continue to try and put myself in the right place at the right time. Hahaha

          • Cormonster

Find a stripper. Your odds should dramatically increase.

          • Strippers are expensive. They’re all coked-up money pits.

          • So I’ve heard…

          • GPLDAN

            So are starlets.

I think MB was looking for this

          • CanadaBear

Bless you, my son! Was a little surprised by the facial but I remember you saying it was porno-ish. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

          • MB30SD

she is a naughty girl. I bet she’s intense in the sack. Nice body. she’s hot. I’m a fan.

That facial shot is nasty…. wtf, I don’t think I’ve cum that much collectively in my entire life.

          • CanadaBear

You’ve never had Jennifer Lawrence tootin’ your root!

          • MB30SD

            true. I’d like to try.

            Thanks GP! Have any others?

          • MB30SD

I know, but I don’t do crazy man. It’s bad news and usually not worth the trouble.

          • CanadaBear

I think I had a chance once but was too stupid (chickenshit) to pursue it. I knew the one woman was going to trim me so I was afraid to lose a sure thing to follow my dream. BTW, they were a 10 (5 each).

          • MB30SD

            hahahaha

          • GPLDAN

            The additive property of whoredom.

  • Cormonster

    BEAR DOWN!

Anyone know who is not going to play in the secondary?

  • MB30SD

    BEAR THEE FUCK DOWN.

We don’t need this win, but we NEEEED this win. It’s time to wrest the NFCN torch from the filthy hands of the waning hoard.

I sacrificed a potential hot chick last night so that we might win this game. A girl hit me up on match, I read her profile in which it contained the words, and I quote, “I was born in wisconsin, and I am a DIEHARD packers fan”.

Instead of sending her a cute little flirty message, I sent her a smack talk email that I would send to a buddy of mine who likes the packers. I told her we would crush the filthy hoard today and that their reign of terror is over now that lovie is ass-fucking some other poor team. And that one of our dlinmen would hurt rodgers.

She read my email, but didn’t respond. I’ve gone on dates with 3 packer fan chicks in the last 2 years and I didn’t like any of them.

    FUCK the packers!

    • CanadaBear

Did all 3 women have lap band surgery? Otherwise, there is no way they could have been Fudgie fans.

      • MB30SD

yeah, they were a collective 7ish canada.

They’re were all the type of packer fan that has little to no connection to wisconsin. They all grew up her or in OC, and the packer connection was either some distant family connection, or they’re bandwagon fans that liked prettyboy’s hair when they saw him on the super bowl or some shit.

This latest one was born there, so I figured she’d turn fat and ugly at some point anyway, so fuckit!

  • DSupreme

    MUTHA FUCK THE PACKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #BearTheeFuckDown

  • The plot thickens…

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Lions and impending free agent DT Ndamukong Suh are heading for a split.

Suh is essentially in the final year of his rookie contract as 2015 is a voidable year. PFF’s No. 2 NT/DT in 2013 and No. 4 in 2012 is prepared to move on and is going to break the bank on the open market. Schefter says Suh would like to play for the Giants or Jets to help build his brand in New York, although the Cowboys and Bears are also expected to have interest. -Rotoworld

    • MB30SD

wow, not sure how I’d feel about him coming to us.

      • CanadaBear

Love/hate for sure. I’d be OK with it if we had the money. Just don’t see how any team with a big money QB and a few other guys making good dough, can afford him. Hopefully he follows the money and ends up on another total shit team for the rest of his career.

        • MB30SD

yeah and we have alshon coming up right?

        • If our rookie DTs crash and burn, I can definitely see us going after Suh.
If Sutton/Ego perform well and show potential, then I can see Emery staying the course.
We still have to pay Alshon soon too.

      • I’m not sure how he is in the locker room. That’s my only gripe.
If his teammates love him, and he listens to his coaches, I’m all for it.
If he’s a knuckle-head that can’t control his edge, forget it.
It’s hard to tell cuz of Schwartz/Lions connection.

    • CanadaBear

It will be interesting to see how much he gets. If he really does leave Detroit, the kitties will be de-clawed.

  • MB30SD

    Bmarsh just listed as active.

  • bearsfantillend

    Allen inactive.

    • THAT sick? SHIT.
      Houston better step up.

      • Trevor Scott active?

        • CanadaBear

He practiced this week so he must be active.

          • MB30SD

Like that kid. he was all over the place in the ps

          • CanadaBear

Me too. We’ll find out today if he has anything. Pretty sure he does.

    • Shady

I’m sorry, but Jared Allen better have FUCKING EBOLA to call in sick today.

      • GPLDAN

Time for the David Bass-Kicker show?

  • MB30SD

    Fuck, allen out.

    • CanadaBear

      FUCK!

  • MB30SD
    • CanadaBear

      YES!

  • Cormonster

Here’s some texts consolidated from my Packer buddy who knows his shit about football:

“I honestly think the Bears are winning and convincingly. Like you, I like the energy level of your younger, new defense. Biggest factor Sunday may have already occurred. Erin Rodgers acknowledged he is scared / careful to go at Fuller (ala Richard Sherman). Fuller is the bomb, and it doesn’t take much to intimidate the ‘careful’ Erin these days. He won’t gamble. I truly think this already the beginning of a slow, tedious, downward ‘carefulness’ crippling slope of Rodgers career. The Bears injury last year scared him also. Phony guy.”

I sure hope he’s right about all of the above.

    • MB30SD

jesus, from his mouth to jebus’s ears

    • CanadaBear

One thing your buddy said about Erin that really rang true for me is he’s all about his stats. That’s what kills me about so many sports fans. They can’t think for themselves and just regurgitate what they hear on sports talk radio. Jay is a team guy. Always trying to win and fuck the stats. He’s always willing to toss a bomb at the end of the half. He doesn’t give a shit if it’s intercepted. Rodgers would never do that unless he was 90% sure it wouldn’t be picked.

      • Cormonster

Bingo! QB rating is a good indicator, but it’s an over-rated stat. Favre had a career rating of 86, and Elway’s was 79.8. Both of those guys threw a lot of picks and were gamblers. But they both were hard core competitors. Rodgers sacrificed two key drives against Seattle by sliding a few yards short of the first down because he didn’t want to take the POTENTIAL hit. No way Cutler or Favre or Elway would have slid in that situation.

        • CanadaBear

Or if they did slide it would have been after the first down marker.

  • GPLDAN

You may think I’m nuts but Trevor and Bass (great cop show name) should be a step up over Allen.

  • Shady

How the hell do you catch pneumonia in September?

    • CanadaBear

A guy in the comments said Allen lost 18 lbs. Not sure if that’s true but would explain the inactive status.

      • Cormonster

The Score and Hub just said the same thing.

      • MB30SD

brutal. I’ve had a stomach bug for the last week and it SUCKS. hard to play a game like fb when you feel like shit, never mind just walk around

Nice rhythm to the O so far, heavy on the run game with the O-line getting some push here. First down pass to Marty was nice.

  • Shady

Bears continue to catch breaks. Mills got away with a HTF penalty they called on Peppers.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    Red zone baby!!

  • Shady

Bears are exploting the middle of the Packers D line, without Raji and blitzing they’re soft. Works nicely to negate the edge pass rush. Huge 3rd and goal from the 6 upcoming.

  • SC Dave

    Call on Mundy… bs
Call on DJ … 100% correct

    • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

      fucking refs,

  • Trac

  • Trac

    Trickery is silly or overconfidence.

  • Trac

Tresticle owes the team a touchdown. He gave the pack momentum right before the half. Stupid.

    • MichiganBearFan

You really think the twenty yards would have that large of an effect?

      • Trac

No, I think the short field and quick score that followed an unsuccessful trick play gave a sucky team who happens to be our arch rivals an advantage we had no business giving them.

  • Trac

How much you want to bet Jeff calls the onside a brilliant call. Bs. Sucked tresticles.

    • Shady

      Just stop.

      • Trac

        That was horseshit. So ok.

    • bearsfantillend

i did not mind the call

      • Trac

I’ll explain why I hate it after we whoop these punks.

      • AlbertInTucson

It was the Bears’ to recover.

    • AlbertInTucson

      Disagree. Packers pants were down.

  • Maddbearfan

We don’t get in Rodgers face we don’t win. Period!!!

  • SC Dave

Rodgers > cutler, again. Time for jay to make me shut up

    • Shady

      -1

    • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

maybe the worst post of the year

      • SC Dave

        Yet prescient, eh?

        • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Not really, you posted that garbage while we were going shot for shot in the first half

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    BENNETT!!!!

  • Shady

    MARTYSAURUS!

    • Shady

      Beast mode.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    10 yards more!!

  • Trac

    Well defended pass.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    BENNETT AGAIN!!!

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    damn it.

  • bearsfantillend

    i think he is in

    • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

      sadly refs are on packers…

  • Shady

    That’s terrible.

    • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

but it´s a game in chicago.. can still win.

      • Maddbearfan

Not unless we figure out how to stop Rodgers..ain’t gonna happen. Same old shit every fucking time we play the Packers…you don’t get Rodgers he’ll pick us apart in the middle of the field. And it works too.

  • Trac

Ok Shady you smart ass. You happy about how that half ended?

    • Shady

You’re miserable to watch this game with.

      • GPLDAN

Just omit that part that says “to watch this game with.”

        • Trac

You never callout a stupid play? There was no need for that. Everything good that came from driving down the field was negated when we walked away with nada. Look I hate the cheese too but we’re not good enough as a team yet to make that call. That’s what I’m saying.

  • RenoBear

We are going to fucking destroy these fucking bitch ass fudgers in the 2nd half. Fuck this shit Bear Down fuckers

  • GPLDAN

    1. We miss the Rat. Bad.
    2. Tresticle is always too cute by a bit and costs his team. I appreciate the haymaker for the KO, but the penalty of 30 yards was high.
    3. Allen lost 15 pounds barfing. I may lose 10 if these refs keep it up.

    • SC Dave

      MIssed that. Love #3

  • Shady

Difference in the game right now is red zone effectiveness.

    • Yup. Cutty overthrew Alshon.
Didn’t throw it in the endzone without TOs.

    • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

      Seriously?

  • AlbertInTucson

Defense must be better but this Zebra crew would need to improve just to be called “Bad.”

    • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

there is no holding by the pack OL, it´s incredible!!

  • bearsfantillend

running game going good 130 yards at the half

  • SC Dave

Aaron rodgers made one of the most incredible plays ive seen in 50 years of watchng football. Enabled by a ridiculous hold, which fortunately was called

  • Trac

Love the ground and pound mixed in with our passing game. Still a lot of game left to take back the momentum. When I got pissy about the inside kick it was because it was bad timing. Kick the ball, pin em deep, GB has a totally different mindset. Give the ball at the 40 and you know they’re thinking quick score. Caliche Pisanos?

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    hahahahha Cutler´s blocking… effective

  • FantuzPhysics

Love our running, but Rodgers is slicing up our D

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    FUUUCK!!!

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    No pressure, no win today….

  • Maddbearfan

This game is over gentleman. Packers own us again.!

  • SC Dave

    Rodgers. > cutler, again

    • SC Dave

      Sooooo much better than cutler

    • Trac

I disagree. One trick play that didn’t work hurt the team thats playing the game one the field. Good coaching tries not to do that.

  • FantuzPhysics

    Eww. Gross. Nelson.

  • Maddbearfan

No pressure on Rodgers what so ever.

    • SC Dave

      None on cutler either

      • WP4Life

Hey dave. Seems like your a long time member.but the blog is Da Bears…

  • FantuzPhysics

Well it doesn’t help when your CB slips in the end zone

  • DSupreme

    I FUCKIN HATE Rodgers!

  • DSupreme

And our pass rush is non existent, so it exposes our secondary something awful.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    C´mon Tucker!!! show sthg!!

  • Bears-4-Ever

After all the comments here on how Greenbay isn’t that great and Rodgers isn’t all that. Rogers is fucking owning our defensive backfield as I was afraid he would. Fuck Rodgers..I am sick and tired of watching this asshole come into our house year after year and pull it out of his ass.
    No Pressure.
He has all day back there.
    Nelson is open every time.
Fuller is just one man…we need 3 more Fullers to stop this asshole.

I’m so pissed right now. Our Offense actually looks great and again our Defense is a fucking shambles.

    • SC Dave

You still thinking the o looks so good?

      • bearsfantillend

        Dave don’t be a dick!

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    fuck……. from a TD to a INT…

  • FantuzPhysics

    Oh no.

  • DSupreme

What in the ENTIRE FUCK just happened?? Carey was wide the fuck open underneath!!! SMFH… This one’s over fellas

  • SC Dave

At least we can only lose once today

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

it´s fucking dissaponting those calling mistakes, is it on Cutler or Bmash… nevermind.

  • SC Dave

The worst of all this is that you guys won’t ignore cheesy *if* we lose. And its looking grim right npw

    • SC Dave

      Ok, *when* we lose

  • wreckinball

    Maybe a stop?

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    it must be a joke!!!

  • FantuzPhysics

    Bostic?!!!

  • Trac

Oh and by the way, there’s plenty of time to win ths game

    • SC Dave

      Not now

      • Trac

        Prolly right.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Ridoculous call. You’re fired.

  • RenoBear

17pts…. One quarter. Legends will be made

  • RenoBear

    Oh my gawwwwwdd

  • WP4Life

Nice call ref. This is not flag football.

  • RenoBear

    Unfuckingbelievable

  • RenoBear

    I am officially fucking sick

  • WP4Life

Where is ref Cary or Mike for their perspective. ..

    • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

it´s fucking inexcusable.. fucking Refs today.

  • Before this game got out of hand, Rodgers executed better than Cutler. That’s the beginning and end of it.

    • SC Dave

      Yup

  • SC Dave

Ok… i will excuse ONE of you for responding to cheesey with “defensive holding on a fg? Really?”

  • AlbertInTucson

Don’t feed trolls. Most especially the cowardly ones who not so mysteriously disappear when the Packers lose (“Oh, well, the dog ate my computer”) which, come to think of it , is ALL of them.

    • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

I´m the first to admit this game was lost by lacking of pressure of DL. but TO doesn´t help also.

      • AlbertInTucson

Plenty of blame to go around. Lack of pressure, the turnovers and not cashing in opportunities, (do you hear me, Josh Morgan?) Clock manage =ment was bad at the end of the half. ALWAYS save the time. Once the seconds are gopne, they are gone. There are other ways tostop the clock.

Trestment throwing the challenge flag ona TO. Change of possession is automatically reviewed, he should know that.

  • Trac

    This games not over yet.

    • DaMurph

      Really?

      • Trac

My brain says yes but my heart says no. Time on the clock still.

        • DaMurph

Time on the clock but our tank is empty.

      • Trac

I’m following the delayed feed online. This sucks.

  • DaMurph

Now we don’t even know when to throw the challenge flag? You lose a timeout by not knowing the rules? TRESTMAN, you are proving yourself not to be any kind of genius today!

  • Jack Lacan

    NOTHING IS OVER –
I’m filling my weekly med holder – doubling all Paxil.
I took out the Re-Cycle Bin – came back and boom…

  • SC Dave

Rodgers and backups 10, Cutler 1.

  • GPLDAN

    All aboard the 8-8 train.

    • Trac

Seriously, give me your rundown on the onside kick call.

      • SC Dave

Had it worked, you’d be extolling its brilliance

        • Trac

People talk about football instincts and instinctively I was repulsed by the failed attempt because if you try one of those, you better convert. The risk there outweighed the reward.

  • wreckinball

    Man do I hate GB

  • Big Mike

If the Bears can’t beat the packers at home, they may as well lose out and get a better draft pick. #fuckthis

  • RenoBear

    Hey lance Briggs showed up

  • Jack Lacan

    Refs? Just hit a Packer…a Pyrrhic victory…somethin

  • FantuzPhysics

    Rodgers’ smirk makes me vomit

    • DaMurph

Now the way the game is played you can’t make him pay the price for that shit!

      • SC Dave

What shit? He walked the walk… all ober oir pathetic, misplaced pride. The Packers are better than the Bears, as they prove over amd over again

        • DaMurph

Kinda like in baseball SC, hit a home run and be an asshole, you’re gettin hit. RuB it in and no price to pay in the NFL.

  • Big Mike

    Tackle much?

  • DaMurph

    Now Rodgers is mocking us!

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

    what a block!!

  • Big Mike

    As well he should

  • FantuzPhysics

Maybe Allen was more important than we thought…no pressure = all day to throw

    • SC Dave

Cutler had all day to throw. Rodgers is simply way better

      • FantuzPhysics

Yep. He sliced up our D with a ginsu or something

  • Jack Lacan

The radio broadcast is a wake.

    • SC Dave

      It should be

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

DJ, you can´t loose before a play is finished

  • wreckinball

Can’t beat GB what a pathetic show by Cutler

  • Ososfan

    Man, Cutler. Wtf….?

  • wreckinball

    They ll still score

  • Jack Lacan

Make it a double. No ice.

  • wreckinball

I think they should go for it

  • wreckinball

Cutler comes up small in big games always

    • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

      Troll

      • SC Dave

        Truth though

        • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

You are a sad, depressed faggot troll dude.

          • EnderWiggin

            That a 15 yarder-Kaperdick?

          • SC Dave

1-10 versus Packers, Ender. Does it have to go to 1-20?

          • SC Dave

Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre what you think. Cutler 1, Packers 10. How big does that second number have to get, Johnny? Does it have to go to 20?

      • wreckinball

        Moron

        • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

          Troll

          • wreckinball

            Moron

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

That’s all you decided to glean from a game where the other team DIDN’T FUCKING PUNT? Cunt

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

at least some grint by ST

  • SC Dave

At least run some fantasy numbers for matt

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

we should keep running… but it´s too late

  • FantuzPhysics

    Liked the Forte/Carey splits today

    • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

and Bennett also, what a game!!

      • FantuzPhysics

Bennett has been unreal this year.

        • huntinbare

Kadeem Carey brought some energy to his 1st packer game

  • MB30SD

we didn’t get it done today. some horrible decisions and bad calls. Trestmant fucked up. No timeout to end the half?!?!

That said, and I’m not making excuses today because they beat us plain and simple, but the league just can’t have the refs almost wholly responsible for 21 points against one team. Just can’t. they were disgusting today.

    • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

agree, fucking Zebras were the 12´s packer.

    • MB30SD

not saying we win without that, but it would have been a more fair match. Just can’t in a 16 game season… against a division rival. just plain and simply can’t have that. not acceptable.

      • SC Dave

I will never understand the defensive holding on an FG attempt, but by that point, we’d already lost anyway. Even had Cutler pulled out some awesome 4Q drives (as he’s done before), Rodgers was just too good today and we would NOT have stopped him.

    • SC Dave

Rodgers is better than cutler, and there is nothing else to say..

  • huntinbare

Today is the official end of baseball’s regular season. In honor of that ; Mel Tucker’s defense decided to
    “Throw a NO-HITTER’

  • WP4Life

I want to kick the shit out of someone right now

    • bearsfantillend

      How bout SC Dave…

      • SC Dave

You’ll have to do that virtually.

  • Trac

Some of you guys owe BillW an apology. Are you feeling him now?

    • MB30SD

fuck that guy. I don’ owe that douchebag a fucking thing.

That dude is a taker plain and simple. He doesn’t come here to add value, he comes to whine and complain. He sucks the fucking air out of this place that most of us come to entertain and hang out with each other.

The dude hasn’t posted a single fucking thing but his own pussy whining bullshit. Fuck him.

      • Trac

The guys begging for a good team before he loses his season tickets. I don’t blame a guy for being a lifelong fan and blowing up when year after year we aren’t quite there yet. Sometimes love and hate are joined at the hip. Let the guy bitch and then he can deal with it after reality sets in.

        • SC Dave

Seems about right. We all do that here, actually. The Bears SHOULD be a great franchise. But they are not, and have not been for our entire lives… at least those of us not old enough to remember the 1930s and 1940s.

  • FantuzPhysics

Lets get KaDeem in the end zone…but we won’t

  • SC Dave

So, it was a blowout, as so many of you prediceted

    • Trac

There was way too much shit talking going on this week.

  • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

well it´s over Ron R´s show is next. hope some grint next game by the entire team and better execution

  • MB30SD

fuck, my buddy who played for the packers just texted me asking what size packer shirt I need so that I can wear it next week.

Fuuuuuck man. I can’t hate the packers any more. just can’t

    • Trac

Hahaha. Can “We” be honest today and tomorrow now? Tues we start talking Panthers but we get to bitch for 24 hrs.

      • MB30SD

Not interested in bitching and whining. We easily could have won that game had a few things gone our way. The next one’s going to be the important one anyway. like I said, we didnt NEED this win.

        • Trac

I’m talking about the natural response after a loss my man. Gotta lance the wound.

          • SC Dave

Guess that’s what I’m after right now.

        • SC Dave

Get a fucking grip. We lost by three touchdowns, which is more points than we scored. SMFH; it’s almost (ok, not really) at those Cowboys fans who told me in 1985 that “had a few things gone our way” they would have won that game they lost 44-0.

        • Trac

I love you bro but really? A divisional home game against the perennial div champ is as important as they get. Unless of coarse you mean the only important game is the next one on the horizon then I concur.

  • Cheddar

    Ha ha butt hurt?

    • WP4Life

R we talking about u wifey again

  • AlbertInTucson

I must have missed it. What happened to Santonio Holmes?

    • The Ghost of Super Bowl XX

good question Al, no show today… but could he change the result? unless he sacked Rodgers. No today.

      • AlbertInTucson

For sure, but he was a prescence on Monday. Surprised to see so much Morgan instead. Maybe Holmes takes the quick out ino the endzone.

      • EnderWiggin

Holmes looks a hell of a lot better than Morgan, who refuses to fight for a slant.

        • GPLDAN

He was lined up 3 yards outside the corner, the corner was cheating so badly to the inside even Geno Smith would have checked out of that throw. THat was all Jay.

  • BerwynBomber

    Rodgers is one SOB bastard.
A bit surprised, though, as I still don’t think the Cheese are that good of a team. Outside of Rodgers performance, game swung on the play at the end of the first half and Jay’s two picks in the second. Forte, Bennett and the O-line all had outstanding games.

    • Trac

yeah right, never believe your lying eyes. Lol. This dam team from cheesland just won’t die.

      • BerwynBomber

        One has to rationalize.

      • SC Dave

        SO. FUCKING. THIS.

    • SC Dave

GOOD FUCKING GOD, ya’ll… If they’re “not so good”, and we LOSE 38-17, where does that put US?

  • RenoBear

Yes turning point was Micah Hyde blocking the sideline camera from showing Marty’s TD at end of half.. Everything went to shit after that, lost momentum….oh yeah and no defensive adjustments for Vadgers after the half. Man I hate that fucker

  • Ososfan

How many times do the Packers have to embarrass the Bears to light a fire in their gut?! Aaron Fucking Rodgers and his bum-ass smirk. Fuck that dude.

    • Cheddar

      Ha

    • SC Dave

Actually, Oso, I saw some anger in the Bears in the first half running game.

      • Ososfan

I hear you Dave, but let that carry over throughout the whole Damn game. I understand the whole team needs to adapt that mentality but I saw certain times where they’d pan to the sideline and the guys would just seem to be quiet and somewhat out of it….. But hey, that’s just my humble opinion….

  • GPLDAN

Smart: Calling a surprise on-side kick call.
Dumb: Letting Cornelius Washington be an integral part of it, depending on him to not be oblivious

    • Trac

Look what happened to the Japs. Talk about history repeating itself.

      • GPLDAN

Yes,, Trac. This was the Midway Island of football games and we were the Japs.

        • EnderWiggin

Does this mean we get nuked week 10?

          • Trac

            Hahaha

          • SC Dave

            Probably

    • SC Dave

      lol… perfect!

  • EnderWiggin

I never blame the refs for a loss.. But fuck every one of them in the mother fucking face.

  • GPLDAN

Never-before-seen contrite Jay or smug, punk ass Jay in the presser? Place your bets.

    • SC Dave

      DOOOOOONT CAAAAAAAAARE Jay.

I mean, what else CAN he do?

  • Shady

The Packers-Bears game is just the 2nd regular season game in NFL history where neither team punted (Bills-49ers, 1992).

    • SC Dave

Wow… another piece of history (almost) for THE rivalry.

  • EnderWiggin

What are the chances of BillW coming in for an ironic “I told you, so I am” speech?

    • GPLDAN

Maybe it’s a U of C alumni night or something.

    • bearsfantillend

when isn’t one his post an ‘I told you so’ or ‘back in my day’ bitching and whining post.

    • SC Dave

What he said it that if we don’t win, he won’t be back. So I’m expecting billW will be gone for a while.

      • johnnywad

He’s gone forever. He’s “enjoying” his PSL and so forth. Wonder if he enjoyed his seats today.

  • GPLDAN

I’m off to listen to Buffone and Eddie OB call US a tomahto can.

    • GPLDAN

Oh my they are in rare form.

  • johnnywad

Eating my crow now. I was wrong. Packers are a threat.

    • Trac

      Yeah right, they got lucky.

    • SC Dave

Props to you, man. Bet you’ll be lonely out here.

    • BerwynBomber

Yeah, me too. Fucking Rodgers was brilliant but I’m still not convinced they are all that as a team. Bears and Lions still have the best over-all talent in the division.

      • Trac

I got concerned yesterday when I realized their D wasn’t as bad as I thought it was.

        • BerwynBomber

I think their D still sucks but they do have veteran D-backs — Shields and Williams — who can occasionally make a play. But I saw no pass rush from them and AJ Hawk still sucks donkey dick. If we can beat Detroit we’re still right there. But who knows, Caldwell might prove a small but notable improvement over Gym Shorts. Their game at the Jets today was the type Shorts would have gagged away in years past.

        • SC Dave

Its really about Rodgers being so damn good. And he saves his best games for us.
          Bastard.

  • EnderWiggin

The only positive for me – Lynch/Burkhardt may have past Albert/Johnson as my favorite Fox team.

    • johnnywad

Julius Peppers had 1 tackle. That makes me feel a bit better

  • GPLDAN

    Rodgers QB rating 151.3

    • Trac

Wow, has there ever been another QB like him? I don’t remember the Bears ever having a defense like we’ve had the last year an a half either.

    • BerwynBomber

What is truly ridiculous was that his best play/TD was called back on a hold. Ah well. Gotta give it to the dude. He’s the goods, and worse, he’s got our number.

      • johnnywad

The hold legitimately affected that play though. I don’t think he can move up into open space as he did without it.

        • BerwynBomber

Wouldn’t argue that but it was still damn impressive.
Ah well, Forte, Bennett and the O-line still looked damn good. I was surprised GB pass-blocked as well as they did. That’s been a weakness for them for a few years now and Detroit exploited the hell out of it.

          • johnnywad

Missing Rat and Allen really hurt this week. Game changer

          • BerwynBomber

Yeah, good point. What was Allen’s injury? I got buried at work this week and couldn’t keep up on Halas Hall news (which is just as well). Btw, I had to step away during the Houston injury at the end. Was it serious?

          • johnnywad

Allen was out sick all week and to weak/sick to play. Didn’t heat what happened to Houston

          • CanadaBear

            pneumonia.

          • Trac

Injuries are part of the game, evra team has them.

        • SC Dave

Agree, but despite NOT having to dodge that, he dodged all sorts of shit, and halfway to the ground threw a *perfect* 45 yards pass to a double covered receiver in the end zone. Fuck that guy.

          • johnnywad

Yep. Fuck that guy. Unfortunately, he’s gonna be there a while. Gotta find a way to beat him. The deflection to Matthews and the Bennett non “touchdown” really hurt. Jay made mistakes and the D sucked all around. Never gonna win in that scenario.

      • SC Dave

That was an unbelievable play. Probably a top ten in 50 years of watching football.

  • Shady

Wow. How did the Steelers blow that game? Lovie lovin’ it.

    • Trac

Blame it on my homer predictions.

  • GPLDAN

Buffone wants to drag Mel Tucker into an alley and beat him to death with a chair leg.

    • johnnywad

      Me too.

    • SC Dave

      Buffone is senile.

  • Trac

Here’s the pattern in the last 4 years. Season starts and we win a couple of games. The signs of a shaky team are there but we ignore them. We look horrible for a game or two and then we win another game or two. Next verse, same as last verse. Lol.

    • wreckinball

Defense is still bad some good players but huge holes. O has to be flawless to win and today turnovers

    • SC Dave

You left out the part that none of the good games are against Green Bay.

  • AlbertInTucson

“Move along folks, nothing to see here.”

  • wreckinball

Also it’s gb for whatever reason we suck against them next week new team

  • johnnywad

Halfway through the second quarter. I thought we’d win that game. The O was clicking. I assumed the D would get some traction at some point. I also assumed the time of possession being so lopsided meant their D would be gassed in the 4th. Fuck. I hate that fucking team.

    • SC Dave

When my parents moved to Wisconsin as their non-winter place fifteen years or so ago, my Mom became a Packers fan. I didn’t like it.

But she *was* always smarter than me. It seems I’ll put up with an inferior product forever.

    • CanadaBear

JohnnyW I never thought we’d win this one after they walked down and scored their first TD. We offered no resistance and Rodgers looked like he was going to have one of those days. Not saying I wasn’t engaged and I was hoping somehow we’d have the ball last and win. That play at the half was a killer. Not blaming anyone. I would have bet The Black Uni would score on that every time. Hats off to the rookie. He made a great play. We totally fucked up the clock at the end of the half. That and losing a timeout due to challenging something being automatically reviewed was very Lovie-like.

      • SC Dave

I was even still hoping until we were called for defensive holding on a fucking FG kick. THAT’S when I gave up

        • CanadaBear

That was brutal. At that point in the game the extra 4 pts were no big deal but what kick to the nutsack. Did you see Bostic and the LB Coach jawing at the ref on the sideline? It looked like even he agreed it was a ludicrous call.

  • SC Dave

Goddamnit… at least salvage SOMETHING and ignore the trolls.

    • Trac

You were borderline trolly during the game but I forgive you.

      • bearsfantillend

Borderline??? i thought he was a Packer fan. Hell by mid 3rd quarter i would have knocked his ass out if we were in the same room.

        • Trac

          He is my brother.

          • bearsfantillend

            sorry to hear that.

          • Trac

Let’s be honest, not a great team but in this league we can mount a playoff run. Ya never know. Not over by any stretch.

          • SC Dave

Hell no, there are 12 games left. I just hope someone else beats the Packers in the playoffs first. Could not take losing to them again.

        • SC Dave

Whatever. I love internet tough guys.

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Seriously Dave, just leave the blog. It would be better for everyone.

          • bearsfantillend

i am surprised his keyboard hasn’t shorted out from all the drooling he did for Rodgers cock during the game.

  • Trac

Jeff I warned you that our 4th pass rush last week didn’t mean jack. Plus with Allen out we had no chance to mount one really.

  • CanadaBear

Can’t believe some of you are using the refs for an excuse. They were fucking brutal all day but the Fudgies got fucked by them early and we got fucked repeatedly later. Yeah, they fucked us worse but so what. When the Fudge ran off the field at halftime before the replay, their cheerleaders came out and scored. We didn’t stop Rodgers. The running game was nothing but we had no answer for the douchebag. He played flawlessly and Jay didn’t. Not blaming this on Cutler. The D is most responsible but it’s almost always a team loss. DL generated no pass rush and no blitzes ever got home. Really disappointing and the main reason we lost. Oh well.

    • BerwynBomber

I won’t blame Jay either but he played like shit in the second half. He could have been picked four times out there.
Forte, Bennett and the O-line played well today. That was it.

    • SC Dave

Rodgers is way better than Cutler, and that was the ball game. It’s really simple.

Ass wipe arguments like “the Packers did not punt” are made How many times did the Bears punt?

      • CanadaBear

No doubt Dave but Rodgers had almost no pressure all day. Jay was partly responsible for sure but I lay this more on the D (mostly the DL) for generating no pass rush all day.

        • SC Dave

How much pressure did Cutler see? NONE. Were I a gambling man, I would lay money that Cutler had as much or more time to throw than Rodgers today.

The difference is that Rodgers made the plays, and Cutler did not. And head-to-head, it always seems to work that way. And on the rare occasions it does not, we STILL lose.

          • WP4Life

SC dave – tell rodgers you will be over later – we get it HE beat us today. Doesn’t mean Jay is not a good qb. maybe find a blog called the Smackers…See u on monday night.

          • SC Dave

As I said, Cutler is the best QB the Bears have had in my life. “Jay is our quarterback”. And he *should be*.

But he can’t beat the Packers, so I just hope they are not in our way in the playoffs.

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

You fucking faggot he was the quarterback in the game last year as well. Get off the blog.

          • Guest

            Donnnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrre. Aint going nowhere.

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

            I’m going to stop now.

          • bearsfantillend

            please don’t.

          • SC Dave

            Imbecile.

          • Trac

The difference is that we know that in order to flustrigate Rogers there must be pressure. Brian Urlacher is chucking somewhere in a trolly kinda way.

          • CanadaBear

To my untrained eye Cutler had more pressure/traffic in his face than Rodgers. No doubt Rodgers outplayed Cutler. Everyone knows Rodgers is better than Cutler. We aren’t getting Rodgers.

          • SC Dave

I had a rebuttal, but it’s time to shut up. I’ll leave it saying I wish Shea had played today.

          • MB30SD

Oh god dave, that’s your answer?!?!?

          • SC Dave

No, it was time to shut up.

Rebuttal is that our offensive line, as Canada, you, Waffle, and almost everyone else on the blog has admitted, has done a great job giving Cutler time to throw. And today was no exception.

          • MB30SD

Cutty turned bad in the second half, 100%… but if the d had stopped anything. I mean that first 43 yard catch was on conte. The second I think td was on conte. He is fucking horrible. He might make an occasional great play but 85% of the time he’s the reason for a long run or long catch. He’s just never there. I’d MUCH rather have McCray and or vereen back there.

      • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Dave, you fucking faggot, even Steve Rosenbloom can point out the multitude of issues today but somehow you cannot. This is nothing new for you and it’s lunacy. You’re a fucking troll.

        • GPLDAN

The Luftwaffle will be staunchly defending Cutler’s left flank. Beware.

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

You simply cannot watch that game and come up with one reason for the loss. It’s common sense. Dave has been doing this for yeas now and it’s lunacy

          • SC Dave

There are many reasons, for sure. But the biggest, which I’m sure Trestman will point out, were turnovers.

          • GPLDAN

Unless you count defense as one thing.

Cutler’s pick that ended up in Matthews hands was bad Jay. Very bad Jay. You and I both know that the film will show that CB was sitting on that route, cheating way in, and it was a terrible throw and a very bad decision.

That said, he’s also the reason they stayed in it in the first half. So it’s all a mixed bad, but the D sucked.

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

The slant was a bad throw to a lesser WR. Everyone agrees. I just can’t sit by and read the depressed snark from Dave for a whole fucking day while he now tries to backtrack and amend

          • SC Dave

Rodgers is better than Cutler – no amends needed, and no backtracking from what I’ve said all day.

Cutler is 1-10 versus Green Bay, which I suppose *is* backtracking, since earlier I said he was 1-9.

          • Trac

Trade winds blowin in strong. Lol.

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Just calling out men acting like bitches

          • Trac

I think you enjoy calling him out as much as he enjoys provoking you in a sick kinda way. It’s beautiful. You complete one another. Lol.

          • SC Dave

            lol indeed

        • SC Dave

Better a troll than an imbecile. You can’t fix stupid

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

            you’re fucking brutal troll. Leave.

          • SC Dave

Nope, won’t accommodate you. Sorry. You’ll have to do better than that.

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

            152

          • SC Dave

And somehow that supports your attack on my statement that Rodgers played better than Cutler?

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Re-read your fucking pussy snark comments from all fucking day and fucking shut it with your calm analysis now. Other posters felt like fucking stabbing you somehow and a new guy thought you were a fucking packer fan. Yeah Dave, you’re right, I’m probably just way off base

          • SC Dave

Just how FUCKING STUPID are you?

          • Guest

            Fuck me. I’m sorry

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Rodgers had a 152 rating you incredible douchebag. Comprehend what that means

          • SC Dave

You are the one not comprehending, imbecile. Go read what I wrote. Rodgers was better than Cutler. What don’t you understand?

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

We just watched one of the worst defensive performances in the history of the organization, watched us get to the one and also the INCH line, get holding penalties on a 4 th down field goal, A late hit on a red zone stop resulting in a TD instead of a FG, and all you’ve been harping on is Cutler. Then you proceed to say that Cutler can’t beat the Packers and continually fail to mention that he did it last year except for that fucking disgrace of a defense. Fucking stop yourself. It’s unreal.

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

And the packers didn’t punt the entire fucking game

          • Big Mike

Rodgers is better than Cutkler. That’s all.

        • SC Dave

And, um, how many times did the Bears punt?

  • BerwynBomber

Malcom Jenkins is a baller. NO was nuts for letting him go. I would not have broken the bank for Jimmy “I don’t block” Graham.

  • WP4Life

bad clock management before half 2 draw plays in a row – no points

onside great idea if it works

on erins td’s- Fuller was just beat by nelson good throw, 2nd nelson cover 2 safety never came over to help- jennings tried to close after checking on flat, conte was watching qb as reciever ran out – point many of these were easy throws

jay misses jeffery on easy throw we settle for 3

we ran easily on them but seemed hurry to catch rodgers bc we had no pressure on him, when they ran D did not lacey get going

rodgers can beat you on his own and he did today

    • BerwynBomber

Might be a blessing in disguise for Fuller. Got schooled a bit but that can happen when you face one of the game’s best. Still looks like a heckuva pick by Emery. He’ll learn. Nice to see Tillman instructing him on the sideline too.

      • WP4Life

i was thinking same thing. also the td that got called back – heckva a throw that erin put over his head. similar throw he picked on kapernick

      • CanadaBear

Overall the DB’s were right there most of the game. We got beat by a great QB and a lackluster D game plan. I don’t remember even one blitz being effective. Oh well.

        • BerwynBomber

Yeah, the MFer basically had one bad pass I remember: some sidearmed thing that went low to their back-up TE over the middle (and their TE almost hauled it in from his shins).
I thought our pass rush was a little better than theirs — they seemed to blitz more than we did — but obviously both QBs received good protection.

        • SC Dave

Agreed. Rodgers just too much. Fucker.

    • EnderWiggin

The clock management was bad. But, Bennett DID cross the plain.

      • WP4Life

AGREE. i wanted the overhead camera view for evidence to overturn, camera is on a zip line across field – first seen few seasons back

        • SC Dave

Point… where WAS that view, anyway? Hmmm?

      • CanadaBear

The ball was slip sliding around in his hands. Once Perreria pointed that out on TV I knew we were fucked.

        • SC Dave

Didn’t see that, but after the fucking we took on Martellus(?) versus the Jets, we could not have expected better I suppose.

          • CanadaBear

The refs today had about as bad a game as you can. We got fucked more but they fucked the Fudgies a couple of times. They never seemed to have control of the game. Can you imagine if this game had been a bloodbath?

      • GPLDAN

        plane.

        • EnderWiggin

Screw you, I’m leaving this blog.
          +1 to self

          • GPLDAN

Let’s get T-shirts that say “Bennett crossed the plain” and have a covered wagon on the front.

On the back it says “It would be better for everyone if you left the blog. Seriously.”

          • SC Dave

Lol… assume you’re going to buy one for me?

        • Trac

          Plainly.

      • SC Dave

Probably, but the camera angle was such that some Packers bitch was directly in the line of sight, so that was a no-go from the get-go.

    • SC Dave

The end of the first half was ugly. I guess Martellus thought he could get in, but shouldn’t you run your pattern (even if a little off) INTO THE ENDZONE?

Not to dis on Bennett though – he and Forte, and 65% of the game Cutler, were the highlight of the afternoon.

      • BerwynBomber

The O-line played very well again today. They’ve played well for four straight weeks in my book and might be one of the best O-lines in the entire league.

        • SC Dave

I’ll give you that, at least on pass protection. The running game also was HUGELY improved today. I was a little surprised that we did not stick with it much.

On the play calling side, I thought the two consecutive instances where Alshon did the end around and did NOT get the ball, followed by the end-around where he turned around and ran to the other corner of the endzone for the unmolested TD was brilliant. THAT is the shit that Trestman brings that makes me smile.

That play looked SOOO easy, but it was set up by earlier stuff.

  • Bender McLugh

Allen out so no pass rush? Tucker got figured out.

  • Bears-4-Ever

HORRIBLE. I don’t blame the refs, I don’t blame Cutty since we know he’s always trying to push when we get behind and bad things happen sometimes. Well, maybe blame him for a few turnovers. You have to take the good with the bad, can’t blame Forte or the O-line they did awesome, can’t blames our WR they did a great job and Bennet was a beast. Yes, I still think our offensive is good…numbers don’t lie.

I blame Our Defense….it’s on them and Tucker for not adjusting the second half to answer the Rogers threat. The bottom line is that against a good offense and a good QB the Bears can’t stop a good passing team. Jared Allen being out aside, our Defense sucked this game. Shouda, coulda, woulda.

    Time to hunt some Panthers.

    BEAR DOWN.

    • FantuzPhysics

Defense was terrible. We were going to lose regardless with our D, Jay made it impossible to come back

    • Big Mike

1 stop. Did not generate 1 stop. Won’t win ever without generating a single stop.

  • GPLDAN

Things that are indefensible about Cutler:

    1. the pick that Matthews got the rebound in was clearly a route ready to be jumped to a wideout in Morgan who hasn’t ever shown the physicality his whole career to box out on a slant. So, it was very stupid for Jay to make that throw.

    2. The pick to Shields. BM thought it was a stop-n-go. Cutler didn’t. Shields didn’t. It’s probably BMs fault, but if there is anybody who should be on the same page with Jay it is BM and miscommunication is a lame ass excuse when the game is on the line – although by then it really wasn’t.

Things that are indefensible about the D:

    1. Houston getting the contract he got and not generating any pressure.
    2. Flatbread playing football anymore
    3. The linebackers never able to get their hands on Rodgers even when they slipped their block.
    4. The LB play.
    5. Chris Conte’s angles
    6. The quit at the end.

    • SC Dave

Not sure I understand (*this game*) #5.

I’m still not comprehending defensive holding on a FG. That was the play that made me give up.

      • GPLDAN

        Dave –

that play is as old as football itself. We practiced it in HS. But now the NFL is taking a hard line on the pry open play. Bostic started to grab the shoulder and pull toward him then stopped, but it was enough to get caught.

        • SC Dave

Cool…thanks for explaining. Presumably to make a path for someone to block.

I don’t remember it ever being called before.

      • CanadaBear

Conte was playing the slant and the WR faked inside and went outside. Conte was easily 10 yds away from him as the guy waltzed into the endzone. Conte basically conceded the outside by the way he lined up.

      • Big Mike

On this blog we aleays blame Conte

    • BerwynBomber

Yeah, I was kinda surprised Trest conceded with six minutes to go but I guess it is the smart thing to do. Long view and stuff.
Did Houston get injured near the end of the game?

      • GPLDAN

He got hurt mid-game but came back.

      • Big Mike

Down 21 without a chance of stopping their offense. Smart call

  • GPLDAN

Remember in 2001 A Space Odyssey when Bowman is in the pod and wants back in the ship, and he tells HAL to open the doors and HAL says, “Dave fuck off you fucking faggot.”

    I love that part.

    • bearsfantillend

      +10000, lmao.

    • SC Dave

Not quite, but in the end it comes down to “Look Dave, I can see you’re really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over.”

Perhaps good advice for more than one of us. And, later, HAL ends up singing to Dave…

“Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do. I’m half crazy all for the love of you. It won’t be a stylish marriage, I can’t afford a carriage. But you’ll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two.”

  • Big Mike

So many reasons to be disappointed.

    • SC Dave

But some reasons to be optimistic too. Bennett was (again) a match-up nightmare, and the Oline looked pissed enough to make some holes for Matt and Ka’deem.

And in the end, you can only lose one game in a week. Next Sunday it’s time to right the ship v Carolina

  • Big Mike

Defense lost this game. 1 stop is all it would have taken. Did not generate 1 stop. Won’t win ever without generating a single stop.

    • SC Dave

One stop to change the score by 21 points? Bottle that shit!

      • bearsfantillend

        packer troll.

        • SC Dave

Not yet, but I’ll do it just for you. Read what I wrote. One stop is going to change the score by 21 points? Really? REALLY?!

          • Big Mike

            Absolutely. One stop changes everything

          • SC Dave

Maybe. Or it changes nothing. We won’t know. Just as we won’t know what would have happened had the Bears recovered that onside at the end of the first half.

      • Big Mike

One stop is a 14 point swing the way our offense was playing. Absolutely

        • SC Dave

See below, but 14 points would still leave us short seven, and that’s assuming the Bears scored a touchdown. And that certainly was not a given, as we only scored 17 points.

          • Big Mike

stop. You know that if we hold and score the outcome is completely different

          • SC Dave

But we only scored 17 Mike.

  • Big Mike

And to make it worse Hester scores again

    • SC Dave

      A return?

      • Big Mike

No as a receiver. A Little screen. He made a move and out ran everyone

        • SC Dave

Well, the blog knew he was no good, so it will stop soon I’m sure.

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Nice attempt at sarcasm troll. Last time I fucking checked the blog doesn’t make personnel decisions for the bears so feel free to leave the blog.

          • SC Dave

Ooo… someone’s panties sure are in a wad tonight. Try a stress pill.

          • Big Mike

            More possessions more scores

  • JohnD

As idiotic as it sounds, the holding call against Bostic on the GB FG attempt was correctly called. From the NFL rule book, Rule 12, Section 1, Article 6(b): “It is a foul for defensive holding if, during a punt, field goal attempt, or Try-kick attempt, a defensive player (B1) grabs and pulls an offensive player out of the way, allowing another defensive player(s) (B2) to shoot the gap (pull and shoot) in an attempt to block the kick, except if the defensive player (B1) is advancing toward the kicker.”

Dumb rule. But, if it’s in the book, I guess the officials have to call it.

    • MB30SD

I have no problem with the call when it’s right. It was a bad call. He barely blocked the guy for more than a split second. It was a bullshit call

      • bearsfantillend

makes you wander if someone on the packers side complained during an earlier extra point attempt, so they were looking at it a little closer.

        • MB30SD

          Them whine…. nooooo

      • Trac

But but but I thought you were a change the rules guy. In today’s “progressive”,” evolving” game you have to roll with the changes brah. Get it, got it? Doubt it!

    • Doc Hamstring

That’s the rule, but that’s not what Bostic did.

Not to mention the ref was going for his flag before the snap. He WANTED to call something, and that was the BS call he made.

I’ve never bought conspiracy theories about officials–at least in the NFL–but this game and all the phantom calls seemed really sketchy.

  • MB30SD

I’m not going to address regs turning into ‘trolls’. It was one game and to be honest I had a gut we’d lose his one… but I also have a gut we’ll win the next one, and that one will count for a LOT more.

What I still can’t fucking believe is the love for conte and cd. If cd was here we might have won???!?!?!? Conte wasn’t bad?!?!?!

Dude, our d is bad when we’re missing key guys like rat, and Allen and peanut… but conte is fucking putrid. That dude didn’t have his man for at least two tds and another couple big plays.

And cd wouldn’t have done shit. We need rat and Allen back if there’s any hope for us. Without pressure, qbs like rodgers are going to kill us.

The lack of pressure is THE thing that lost this game for us. period.

    • beninnorcal

I agree, MB, regarding that gut feeling. I thought some over-confidence was involved. I still say we split with them on the season. I just really hate Rodgers.

      • MB30SD

It’ worst. I was screaming at my tv. Literally

    • SC Dave

Too thinly veiled, MB, so I’ll reply. If CD was here he might have busted Rodgers’ hymen, and then we’d had a chance.

On the Nelson play early, I cannot say who’s guy he was. Clearly, Mundy and Conte were not on the same page.

      • MB30SD

You and Mike are fucking KILLING me with those two dave. They are both dogshit.

He did it once, he was lucky.

        • SC Dave

I won’t presume to know more than the coaching staff. They are starters.

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

So, does this apply to Hester too or is that different? With your faggot comments

          • SC Dave

Absolutely. I did not question their decision when they cut him lose. Nor did I heap hate on Devin.

          • SC Dave

Kinda like I don’t jump on Trestman, et al, for play calling. Sometimes, like all fans, I think I know better. But in the end, Trestman has come in and given us the best offensive scheme we’ve seen in our lives. So I’m not going to bitch about the coaching.

Maybe I should – bitch about their lack of execution in the same way I do with players. Only fair I suppose.

  • BerwynBomber

Kaepernick blows a TO. What a moronic move.
    Minny driving on the Falcons.

  • Well that was painful. I wish I had been wrong, but CHI simply couldn’t handle GB’s passing attack.

    • Trac

Did you think the onside kick effected the outcome?

      • no. They didn’t get a stop all day. Why does it matter if they start the drive at the 20 or the 40?

        • Trac

Fair enough. Let me say this. We were winning when Emery pulled that trick from his hat and we never scored another point afterwards. Driving down the field before the end of halftime on the next possession without even getting a FG was turrible. It was a double fail. The Bears failed to execute the onside kick and the game went downhill from there.

“From the onside kick until the end of the game, the Packers outscored the Bears 24-0.”

          http://www.chicagofootball.com/2014/09/28/trestman-explains-onside-kick-attempt/blagg2s/

This was a game changer in my book and cost us more than 20 yards.

          • this game was a shootout until Cutler’s first INT. That play changed it into a blowout.

    • huntinbare

Why after 5years of Roger’s is that such a big problem? From that question we should begin our scheming for draft day. I personally believe Mr.R is more comfortable playing the Bears than any other foe; hence the RELAX comment. You have to start with a creative package and give him stuff we do not use anywhere else but GB. He is aware of what will work before his Oline even sets. We only beat him by getting him out of the game or getting in his head…and he does come apart mentally…he was cracking last week and I bet if he played Arizona this week he may not have been so quick to say relax…this defensive strategy sMELls

      • Trac

I was thinking the same thing about Rogers relax statement. Really don’t care what some of his team mates grumble about but he’s a proven leader on the field. Leaders piss people off, it comes with the territory. That’s why I thought Jeff missed it when he focused on that earlier this week. Not having Allen,CD, Rat and Peanut will cause the D to misfire. The cool thing is we should be getting most of our wounded warriors back soon. The year the Packers won the SB, the got healthy towards the end of the season. 10-6 May not get us in to the playoffs if we don’t start winning Div games though.

      • his career stats are actually worse against Chicago than most teams and below his career average. Most of the time, it was that Chicago’s offense couldn’t move the ball or score. That hasn’t been an issue as much the last 2 games. But the DL had zero pressure today, and Rodgers will kill you if you can’t get pressure on him.

      • it’s not that CHI has dominated Rodgers or anything, but they’ve done about as well as anybody. He’s a damn good QB and he’s been damn good against CHI. Worried he’d be in for one of those days today, though I didn’t think it would be quite THAT monstrous.

    • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Couldn’t handle it? We kept Rodgers a full 6.8 pts below the perfect passer rating of 158.3
This one is obviously on Cutler not being able to complete that 80yd drive in a minute according to Fly Fishing. A fucking minute.

      • wreckinball

        Still moron

        • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

          Eat a gun fag

          • wreckinball

            Ooh that hurt moron

Back to Yahoo or the Bears Facebook page with you.

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Use some facts behind your shitty Yahoo comments and use your fucking head

      • SC Dave

But Jay *has* done it before, Johnny. It is so bad to hope for another against our biggest rivals?

        http://www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/comeback.cgi?player=CutlJa00

        • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

We had just scored 2 fucking minutes before that and had to do an onside kick because the coaches knew the pack would score! It’s not fucking reasonable to say , oh, we’ll as long as our quarterback keeps up he same hall of fame pace well be just fine
He missed a TD by a fucking inch. It’s just football

          • SC Dave

It is just football. But you have jumped my ass all day for pointing out that Rodgers just KEEPS MAKING it happen. Trust me, Johnny, I hate that p.o.s., but somehow (against us at least) he does NOT miss that TD by an inch. And it frustrates the fuck out of me that *our* guy does.

Cutler makes it worse. All the other schmucks we have had – we knew there was no chance they could be like that. But Jay… maybe Jay COULD do that shit. Maybe it’s unfair to him, but he has been our only hope to be THAT GUY.

And he keeps showing us that he might be. But then Rodgers comes in and shows us what it really is. And it pisses me off.

[No doubt you’ll jump my ass again, but that’s as real as I can make it, Johnny]

    • johnnywad

You were right Woody. I was wrong. Good thing I don’t have an online wagering account. I would have laid the wood on the Bears to win outright today.

  • alright, so I may or may not appear later today since I’m going to go screw the girl I should’ve screwed all last night like the Bears screwed us.

    1. Cutler lost us that game.

Yes yes, the defense was horrible, but guess what, the Packer’s D was equally as putrid.

    Difference?

    Cutty over threw Alshon.
Cutty didn’t throw it into the enzone. Clock ran out.
Cutty didn’t see the inside leverage that lead to the pick.

Everything else was after the fact. Brandon will probably fall on the sword and proclaim he fucked up on the route that lead to the other INT, but we’ll never truly know.

Rodgers did NOT make those mistakes.

    THAT is the difference.

(BTW back to being a Cutler agnostic)

    • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Did you even watch the game? Morgan pushed out at the 1 for some reason, long penalty on the goal line, Bennett missing a TD by a fucking centimeter??? Goddamn it people it fucking football. Rodgers missed some passes too, except on the next play a 6th rd tight end would gain 50 Yds with no one within 15 yds of him

      • wreckinball

Rodgers played great you idiot. It doesn’t mean you are not a bear fan to admit it. Heat played cutler end of story.

        • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

There is nothing wrong with admitting a future hall of famer played awesome. There is something wrong however when you ascribe a loss to a singular guy in a football game. Thats crazy and it has no place on this blog

          • wreckinball

well it’s not ur blog so deal with it

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

That’s the point pal, we shouldn’t have to deal with 85 IQ quality comments like Yahoo or Facebook. Look at your posts today regarding the game, how you wrap it up into your little shit tainted logic package and realize how fucking insulting it is to anyone that knows anything about the game.

          • wreckinball

Ok pal? U r still a moron so FO

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

I meant pal in the most condescending way possible. Please know that.

          • wreckinball

moron yep that’s you . Jay was great your analysis was just spot on . Dude do u realize what an idiot u are

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

When did I ever say that. We are done. You are fucking insane and I’m trying to type this on an iPad. Let’s just agree that you’re a standard Yahoo poster providing noinsight or analysis and call it a day

          • wreckinball

Don’t agree with anything you say moron

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Oh , deep down you do

          • MB30SD

Who the fuck are you dude? Put in your time then talk shit. Douche

You’re a fucking clown dude. Eat a dick and get off the blog

          • Trac

            Ignores it.

          • wreckinball

So what IQ is that reply dont care? Hey MB FO

          • MB30SD

You’re a cunt buddy. Get off the blog. Seriously. Dickbag

          • wreckinball

            FO buddy

            Perfect handle for you miley

          • Cormonster

I’m not your buddy, guy. I’m not your guy, friend. I’m not your friend, pal……

          • EnderWiggin

Yeah! A dick in a shoe!

          • wreckinball

Ok wtf does that even mean.

But yeah saying Jay had a bad game is outrageous

          • Trac

I agree to that. Cutty proved to me in the Niners and Jets game that he’s the best QB we’ve had since the punky QB.

          • SC Dave

Cutler is better, in raw terms, than McMahon (ducks bomb from Irish). *Relative to the league*, I’d call them about equivalent

          • SC Dave

Generally, teams lose as a team. Generally teams win as a team. Green Bay won today because Aaron Rodgers was awesome. The Bears needed Jay Cutler to be as awesome, since the modern NFL rules and officiating make games a battle between QBs.

Often, Jay gives us an edge there. But now versus Rodgers, and he plays for the *fucking Packers*.

And some of us really hate that, Johnny. Hate the Packers QB being better. We really do.

And sometimes, we unfairly blame our QB. The same way that sometimes, defenders of our QBs blame someone else.

          • MB30SD

It’s different dave. Erin is hands down a future hofer. With any other qb that team is a .500 team. He just makes them win. It sucks.

          • SC Dave

You’re absolutely right, MB. And the worst part of that suckness is that in fifty+ years as a Bears fan, my team has NEVER had a QB like that. Never had (even Walter) a guy on offense that could get a 12-4 record with an 8-8 team.

            Never.

And yes, it fucking sucks. And EVERY time I see that asshole do it, it pisses me off.

    • BerwynBomber

Rogers won the game. The dude was masterful. But I can’t pin the entire loss on Jay. He had a good first half and a shitty second half. But we could have had Peyton Manning back there and Rodgers might have beaten us.
Time to think about Carolina, who suddenly look like a shitty team.

    • Doc Hamstring

Rodgers is arguably the best QB in the league. Definitely Top-5, and others in that Top 5 include two of the BEST of ALL TIME, first-ballot HoFers.

So saying that Cutler didn’t play as well as Rodgers? That’s not exactly an insult, nor is it unexpected.

And yes, the Defense lost the game. Yes, Cutler threw a couple bad picks.. because, as it usually is when he throws the stupid ones, he was trying to win the game by putting the team on his shoulders. He was down 14 points in the 3rd quarter, after pretty much moving the ball at will in the 1st half.

Seriously, what could Cutler have done better in the 1st half? 6 more inches (or a better angle on the replay), and Bennett has the TD at the end of the half, and we’re not discussing any “bad decision” on Cutler’s part there.

The DEFENSE screwed the pooch. COVER JORDY FUCKING NELSON! The Packers did NOT PUNT. Yes, I’m gonna do this in all-caps: EVERY TIME THE PACKERS HAD THE BALL, THEY SCORED. ALL BUT ONE POSSESSION ENDED IN A TD. That isn’t just “the defense sucked, but Cutler lost the game.” That is EPIC shittiness. The Packers scoring EVERY possession meant that the Bears offense had to score EVERY possession JUST TO KEEP UP.

So no, Cutler did not lose the game. The DEFENSE lost the game. If you cannot even force the opponent to punt, YOU LOST THE GAME. PERIOD.

      • SC Dave

The Packers never forced the Bears to punt, but they did not lose the game.

  • tobijohn

Well, I’d rather be wasting an incredible amount of time reading everything I could on the Bears victory today but the reality is, I’ll be saving at least five or six hours this coming week by reading absolutely nothing about this debacle…

  • Trac

At the end of the days guys, we lost. No prognosticatings a gonna change that. It’s fair game to bounce our emotions around as long as we refrain from bouncing each other’s heads against the wall. Relax.

    • SC Dave

The Beloved can only lose one game per week. It just sucks extra when it is Green Bay. We’re getting close to letting those bastards tie… what is it now, 92-90-6 Bears?

That other shit people call a rivalry aint nothing.

      • Trac

Dave, we r 1 game outta first. We go through this crap evra year, wait until the seasons at least half over man.

        • SC Dave

That’s kinda my point Trac though I clearly failed to make it :-). One game in an incredible rivalry sooo much bigger than all of us. Hand-wringing, despair, and bitching like we’re doing (and the elation when we finally beat those fucks next time) has been doing on for NINETY YEARS. Bigger than any of us. Way bigger.

Earlier, I wrote we have 12 games left. Win 8 or more and it’s looking real strong for the good guys.

          • Trac

I get that part Dave, really. You know how dumping on Cutty can be easy to do but he was a symptom of a team that took it to us. Team loss.

          • SC Dave

Yeah, I believe you. I was asking people at the Alehouse (and likely here) that say “the Packers aren’t so good” just what does that say about us that we lost by three TDs?

It’s really that kind of shit that burns my fuse too easily.

  • BerwynBomber

Questionable play-calling by Kelly there. Should’ve run on 3rd down.

  • wreckinball

Rodgers better than cutler end of story. Both Ds suck

  • Trac

Emery decided to go all in on O when he hired Tresty. This is the kind of team you get until you draft a more balanced one. We were hoping for a miracle this year on D but championships seldom come this quick after a regime change. Even the 85 Bears got blown out of Candlestick park the year before we won it. As Barb says, have to patience.

    • wreckinball

True D has some good players but some gaping holes This year being anle to plug those holes will be the key

    • BerwynBomber

Yes and no. Don’t disagree with his all-in on O with Tresty, BUT Emery did make good moves the last two years to shore up on the D. There is a commitment to be an excellent team on both sides of the ball. My biggest concern long-term is Forte. I tend to think fans, even on this blog, take the dude for granted and I sometimes wonder what his shelf-life is.

    • SC Dave

The game that made me believe in ’85 was when we kicked the niners asses in regular season. Pretty sure it was in their place too..

  • MB30SD

It’s one fucking game. We’re bound to lose some. Sucks it’s against those dickbags, but it is what it is.

We’re still going to be fine.

    • SC Dave

Yup… can only lose (or win) one game per week.

Next stop, Charlotte. I’m going to make my gal wear her Panthers shirt, since last time she did was the Steelers game last Sunday night.

    • johnnywad

But why are you being such a dick about it? God….

  • MB30SD

Mundy is actually a very good player. Next year we desperately need:

    1. FS
    2. Imlb
    3. De

    • wreckinball

Mundy is average He is just better than the rest of our depleted secondary

Mundy was a nickel back on the Steelers

      • MB30SD

        DefenseT-ASCKINTFFR.
        Mundy 8-00.000

        sure sure sure…

    • Trac

It’ll come eventually. Trestman is so heady that sometimes he gets ahead of the players on the field. Love the guys ceiling, hate the suckyness and injury prone D. Don’t know about you but watching the game at the pizza joint in the first half, it sure seemed like our WR’s were having footing issues making their cuts.

  • BerwynBomber

We had 235 yards rushing today.

  • wreckinball

Liked the run today.O has to be flawless to win.

    • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

See Miley, that comment felt more authentic and is a lot better. You made two observations in one post. You mentioned a positive that surprised a lot of us (the run game and it’s creativity) while referencing the fact that we have problems on D . I liked it.

      • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

I’m not being a dick, not that you care. Had to take the Miley shot though. Sorry I’m not sorry about that

      • wreckinball

Jay had a bad game. That seems to upset you. O is still very good D is wobbly So when O makes mistakes we r in deep trouble

        • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

I’m frustrated at the first pick and that Bennett had a monster game but missed out on an awesome TD by centimeters. The other ref calls and odd football things happen which is why we’re not all Internet nfl gambling millionaires. Alot of things frustrated and excited me about this game today.

          • SC Dave

Rodgers ALWAYS frustrates me. The damn cunt.

          • wreckinball

Have watched the Bears for 40 years. Never ever was their D this bad. We have the best O ever. Just annoys me

        • Guest

Rodgers ALWAYS frustrates me. The damn cunt.

          • wreckinball

I hate the cheese heads. It seems almost like a spell

    • guest

The Packers Run D is the third worst in the league. Our rushing attack is the league’s worst.

  • Trac

Oh MB? MBEEEE? The bucs are just one game outta first place boykie. Hee hee.

    • MB30SD

Hahahahaha… erra one has a trap game my maings… just ask the falcons.

  • Cormonster

About 10 of my Packer fan friends were tearing into the officiating on Facebook after the game, calling for pink slips for the entire crew. Even though the Packers won, they were still pissed at how all the phantom calls and shitty calls are ruining the game. I totally agree. It seems like a good 25% of games I watch of any teams that the officials make a couple terrible calls that change the whole complexion and flow of a game.

    • wreckinball

Agree no matter who you root for the zebras are basically in every play

    • BerwynBomber

My argument for years has to been to make the officials full-time so they can study the shit out of their mistakes, practice their shit in the off-season and generally officiate the game better. I have NEVER bought the argument that because they only work 17 weeks on Sunday they should not be full-time employees. By that principle we would say that football players are part-time athletes.

      • Cormonster

They make about 175 grand a year, with pensions. Not a bad part time job. I agree they should be full time and have three or four year contracts.

        • SC Dave

Raise them $50K (out of Roger’s salary) and make them full time.

        • MB30SD

fuck me. I’ll take that to do a pissfuckingpoor job of my job and never get taken to task for literally blowing games. smmfh

  • Trac

Mosely led the Ravens in tackles today. The kids killing it.

    • MB30SD

wouldn’t have fixed our issue today.

      • Trac

I know. I really loved that kid coming out of college. We needed him and Fuller. It’ll be interesting to track his career.

        • MB30SD

we’ll get a better one next year. We need a fuller at FS, and then move up early in the second to get our new lach. We can and should also get a couple vets on the outside.

If we reup CD’s contract I will go fucking ballistic.

          • SC Dave

Our new Lach? Ha ha ha ha. Kuechly was that guy, and we did not try for him.

          • Cormonster

He would have cost a fortune to move up that much in the draft.

          • SC Dave

No doubt. But how much is a guy like that worth? Time will tell, but 2013 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and 2014 NFL Defensive Player of the Year is a damn good start.

And he’s a MLB. The very definition of Chicago Bears defensive machismo, ever since Bill George invented the position.

          • MB30SD

agree with corm and dave here.

            Just wasn’t possible that year.

          • Trac
          • MB30SD

fuller has a much better shot at roty

    • GPLDAN

You need to Mose on down to Baltimore and give the kid a wet beejer.

      He’s a 3-4 LB. He’s not Ray Lewis redux.

  • SC Dave

But we all *knew* that this team had to have offense, and 17 points with two turnovers is NOT getting it done. So blame it on the defense all you want, but 17 points with two turnovers will rarely, if ever, win in the NFL.

    • wreckinball

Bingo The D sucks so O has to be flawless the INTs were death today

      • SC Dave

Not what I meant, and facts prove your statement mostly wrong. Against Buffalo, SF, and NY the Bears gave up 20, 20, and 19 regulation points…

17 by the offense would have lost EVERY SINGLE GAME this season. And against the Jets, the defense scored a TD and set up a short field for another and really won the game for the Bears.

So really, you have to say the offense shit the bed tonight just as bad, or worse, than the defense. The one time we really needed them in the “shootout”, they couldn’t put any points on the board

        • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Every lawyer that just tried to comprehend your logic in this post just had a brain hemorrhage

          • SC Dave

It’s really very clear. 17 points would have lost us every game this year.

But I apologize; simple arithmetic is beyond the grasp of imbeciles.

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Dave, its getting late, please don’t make me explain this

          • SC Dave

You are the one that needs the explanation, so I will give it too you, hopefully in a way a low-grade moron can understand.

The team scored the fewest points of the season tonight. A number of points that would have, in EVERY OTHER GAME, not been sufficient to win.

The fact that we scored enough points to beat the Jets was abetted by a defensive touchdown, although we did have one point to spare without that. Yet 17 would still have lost to the Jets.

So, the team scoring the fewest points of the season is not good. Do you understand at least that last sentence?

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Holy fuck Dave, I can’t do it, I’m at a loss. I’m never interacting with you ever again. I just can’t. You are attempting to string together the incredibly unique circumstances, play calling, officiating, clock management, yardage, freak occurrences, etc of every game this season to somehow prove that the offense shit the bed worse than the D who gave up a TD ON EVERY SINGLE DRIVE except one and a late block once up over 3 scores. Then you are trying to use the score retroactively to somehow insinuate that the score today has some correlation to a completely different game……. Are you insane?

I’m done, I vow to never respond or read anything that comes out of your depressed ass ever again. Good night and good luck.

          • GPLDAN

Thank heavens the Germans never stockpiled large quantities of nerve gas in WW2.

          • SC Dave

I pointed out that the Bears scored the fewest points of the season today. Somehow this is the fault of the defense in your reality. Curious.

          • NewBearInTown

You’re both right. The offense didn’t show up nearly enough today and instead gave a performance that couldn’t outscore a single opponent we’ve had this season. And the defense was awful all game.
Its hard to pick which was worse. At least punting wasn’t an issue.

  • MB30SD

btw, I’m not one to fellate ANY packer dickbags, but whatever youz guyz were saying about AJ Hawk…. I still don’t get it. That meathead shitbag was in on every fucking play. jesus.

    • BerwynBomber

Hawk played okay today, but he has never lived up to his draft status and, from what I’ve watched of the Cheese over the years, he rarely makes a play of consequence.
Hawk’s primarily responsibility is the opposing team’s ground game. We had almost 250 yards rushing today.

      • SC Dave

Think I mentioned this before, but if I spent a #5 pick and the guy started on my defense for nine seasons and missing only two games (assuming he starts the rest this year), I’d have to call it a good pick.

        Have to.

        • BerwynBomber

          Have to? No, I don’t.
If I have a top-five pick I’d like to see him in a couple/few Pro Bowls during the course of his career, regardless of position. I’ll give you that he hasn’t been a bust, but average NFL starter seems his ceiling.

          • MB30SD

dude seriously, the guy was in on literally erra single play maing. Literally.

I watched, cause I’ve always been impressed with him despite the calls for his banishment. The dude is a very good LB.

He had 10-3 tackles today, and almost an int and a fumble recovery. He’s ALWAYS around the ball. He’s better than anything we have buy a backwards ass wiscansin country mile.

          • MB30SD

and no, he aint no lach… but no one is and we all better stop expecting that and using that as our bar otherwise we’ll be perpetually disappointed.

oh and our best tackler today had 8, mr. mundy, who I hear is just average.

          • BerwynBomber

Who’s using Lach as a standard? Hawk’s an average LB.

          • SC Dave

How long do an “average” LB start for a team in the NFL?

Yes, one could very reasonably expect Pro Bowls out of a #5 (or whatever he was), but there have been plenty of lower picks that did not give nine years of starting service. So *i* would not call him a bad pick, even at #5.

          • MB30SD

see dave, even I like the underdog once in a while… even if he’s a fucking disgusting packer. I just try to calls em likes I sees em maing.

          • MB30SD

Let’s just agree to disagree. I think he’s above average.

            http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/9591/aj-hawk

          • BerwynBomber

Dude, you’re out of your fucking mind. He has 13 tackles — what Bostic had last week — we had 250 yards rushing. Where did Hawk come big on us? Did I miss something.
He’s DJ Williams who happened to luck out with a good organization that has stuck by him.

          • MB30SD

I do no man, I don’t focus on the dude, cause you know, he’s a packer. But no, don’t think I’m crazy. all I know is that every single time I watch the packers play, the dude is at the ball somehow when the whistle blows.

          • Cormonster

The Bears ran 41 times today, and almost all those carries were right at Hawk and Lattimore up the middle. It only makes sense he would be in on a lot of tackles, most of which were after about a 5-6 yard gain. The Packers are now the worst defense in the league against the run, giving up 176 yards a game. Most of those runs are right up the middle at Hawk. Certainly the DL deserves some of the blame, along with the safeties, but every OC knows to attack the middle of the defense. Hawk is very average at best. He may be better than what we have, but that’s not saying much.

          • SC Dave

No, *you* don’t. But *I* would, as I stated.

      • wreckinball

        I’d take him

      • he’s a competent player. Your textbook average MLB who will not hurt you but isn’t making big plays either.

        • BerwynBomber

          Exactly.

  • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Brees not very “elite” outside of new Orleans.

    • wreckinball

Their D Is worst than the Bears

    • NewBearInTown

The Saints were the Seahawks a few years ago. Unstoppable at home (in an arena built for the team’s strengths), mediocre on the road. They bucked the trend when they won the Superbowl a few years back, but it might be catching up to them again.

      • BerwynBomber

They won on the road last year in the post-season (at Philly) did alright against us at Soldier. They’re just not a very good team this year and, as usual, their defense stinks.

  • GPLDAN

Maybe this team is just better on the road.

    • SC Dave

Evidence would support that conclusion thus far. Hopefully it holds up for a couple weeks as the Bears tour the Southeast.

      • huntinbare

I am thinking 6-2…four in a row is the only salve that will take care of the burn that today has caused.

    • I was very disappointed in the home crowd today. GB didn’t have to use silent counts. So there was no home field advantage at that point.

      • Cormonster

Have you been to Soldier field? The crowd is almost never loud outside of the end zones. Between the goal lines it’s mostly corporate types and yuppies, aside from the upper decks. Half of those folks don’t even seen to be paying attention most of the game.

        • huntinbare

Yes I have a friend who will go to the game in Green Bay and wear a Favre jersey. Our corporate fanbase is fickle….We will have to put electrical current moniters in those seats. If you do not reach a certain decibel you get “Tazed”.

        • I’ve been to one game. Yep, it’s an issue. Routinely quiet on the TV. But for the PACKERS… come on, you HAVE to get up for that.

          • Cormonster

Between the 20’s, in the best sections, I bet almost half the people don’t get back to their seats until the middle of the 3rd quarter.

  • GPLDAN

There were some calls in this game that my SO said to me, “doesnt stuff like that ruin the game?”

I had to tell her yes. Yes it does.

The first was when Mills got his hands sqaure up in Pep’s grill, and Pep was flagged for it. Apparently tracking his arms back to the torso was too hard for them.

The second was when Lynch practically lost his shit when Fuller and Mundy push Nelson well out of bounds before the line, and they give him the first down anyhow. And Tersticle does not lose his shit, despite being right there.

After that call, I figured there was no amount of asswipe these refs were not capable of. Phantom calls, missed spots, lack of understanding the rules. I still do not get why the NFL smacks you with a charged time out if you challenge a play that results in loss of possession. What point does that serve?

Sport is really trying to kill itself in this generation.

    • SC Dave

That oob spot was ridiculous; so much that I *had* successfully repressed it.

And the personal foul for that hit (Mundy?) in the end zone. Seriously?

    • man the officiating was horrible in this game. Helped the Bears some, then hurt the Bears some. But I just can’t stand bad refs. Holy cow.

      • NewBearInTown

Listened to only parts of the game today. Everything I heard, I got really irritated by the number of calls. After a while the radio crew stopped trying to explain what happened, all the personal fouls and odds and ends just took me out of the game.
I don’t think the refs were against the Bears so much as just too involved in the game as a whole. I couldn’t enjoy it. And I’m a total football nerd – so if I can’t enjoy a game because of too many ticky tack calls, nobody can.

        • Cormonster

If you seen my previous, post, a bunch of Packer friends were bitching about the same thing after the game.

  • BerwynBomber

Shocker of a beatdown in Jerry’s World. The Cowgirls? Really? If nothing else, I’ll give their DC (whoever it is) credit. They were historically bad on that side of the ball last year.

    • their DC is Marinelli.

      • huntinbare

He is missed; oh how he is missed

  • wreckinball

    Wow saints are bad

    • BerwynBomber

Suddenly the NFC South looks like an atrocious division.

      • wreckinball

Surprising thought it would be the best

  • huntinbare

From my perspective, which is not saying much; because I root with my heart, which is a stupid way to walk into a sporting event…….I have just lost 1/3 of the season. I do not consider .500 against the Pack a win; so even if we win at Lambo, we lose the series; unless of course we meet and best them in a playoff game. I know we still have: The Division, and The Playoffs; but these 2 games should be the equal to those accomplishments
I know I have told the story about spending the summers at Granny’s bar on Turtle lake in Wisc. Today the 2 bartenders who used to rub Bart Starr in my face are now mocking me from the clouds with a discount double check. Back in the 60’s I had to also root for Shula’s Colts. because Johnny U. was the only player that lit those bald headed bartenders remaining hairs on fire.
Lately I do not enjoy these weeks of prep. for GB; I go into a dark room and stumble around for my confidence. I just sense that this current leadership has lost the heart for these GB games. It is almost as if they see it as a normal weekend of football. It is not a “normal week”; and this streak is unacceptable; I sense that GB pencils in 2 wins every year on the weekends they meet the Bears; when they calculate how there season will play out. They have way too much confidence meeting us; which is understandable by the lack of effort; and inability to make the plays that change the metrics of our games. I imagine they “snicker” behind our backs; they do not seem the least bit intimidated. I fear we are loosing our connections to one of the deepest roots in our Bear family tree. Today was so shameful we packed it in.
After listening to the radio broadcast (glad I did not see it); I went to 670 for “therapy” because I knew there would be stuff flung around the room; andI listened to O’Bradovich and Buffone; and they were frothing that we took out the starters with 5 min. left. I felt sad for Bear Nation; do that any other game; but not against GB. As GP says…weak sauce….
Emery better hire a team of talent to scout and prepare us for GB. An inside division within the staff who will work on righting these wrongs. Heads should roll for doing the same thing over and over on D hoping that it will finally produce results. If Smells does not have the ability to put multiple tools in his belt and be willing to use his sledgehammer every once in a while when he can’t break the glass with his framing hammer; then send him around to take lunch orders and see if he can get back without spilling the drinks….his inconsistency has worn my patience thin.

    • Cormonster

In Turtle Lake, WI? Or a different Turtle Lake?

  • Cormonster

The Bears era of dominance over the Packers ended on December 5, 1993, Wanny’s first year as coach. The Packers under a young Favre dominated in yardage, but gave up three defensive touchdowns. Dante Jones had a fumble recovery for a TD and a pick, and the front page of the Tribune sports section the next day was a huge headline that said “Dante’s Inferno”. I think that was the only good game he ever had.

After that, Favre and the Packers dominated. They won ten straight at Soldier Field. Since 1994, the Bears are 11-31 against the Packers, and 4-17 at home. Those are just pathetic numbers. 21 years of getting are asses kicked most of the time. Hopefully the Bears can turn this trend around soon.

  • BillW

It’s late. I know I’m not welcome here. I said I wouldn’t comment if they lost because you wouldn’t want to hear what I had to say. But after several hours thinking I have decided the game came down to one thing only and that’s the defense not being able to stop Rodgers

And as such I actually feel better about this team long term. Because that’s fixable though not this year. They didn’t lose for any reason other than what we knew. The d isn’t there yet. No rush and patchwork safeties still was too much to overcome.

Once gb scored with no effort their first drive I figured we’d have to do something out of the ordinary to win The onside kick was Trestman thinking the same thing

The clock management and him not challenging that horrible spot were Trestman being Trestman (great oc, still learning to be a hc)

The ints were NOT “Jay being Jay”. They were Jay realizing the game may already have been lost due to the porous defense.

One was forced and the other on Brandon who clearly saw something he hoped Jay saw. Brandon trying to force a play.

If we scored at the end of the half and had those two ints not happened I still think it very possible we lose anyway. But had we scored at the end of the half the two ints probably don’t happen. Gb still scored essentially each possession.

Of course the ball did break the plane. Just couldn’t see it. Need visual evidence not logical evidence. (By the one camera angle you could see his hands and then given where the line was the ball must have broken the plane. Where else was the ball.)

Despite how I’ve been misread, I wasn’t “right” about this game. I expected them to win. In my analysis (value added or not) the lack of Defense led to other decisions and errors that combined to give up 38 and only score 17

It was interesting reading the comments. I just wonder if other team’s fan boards have a bunch of jerks that “eat their own” like several of you guys.

We all want the same thing. We’re all Bears fans We all need to have pride in the Bears first of all. I think I may have forgotten that myself with my relentless criticism.

    • AlbertInTucson

Critical comments by one, 2 two or several posters does not mean that you are “not wanted here”.

    • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Bill, first, agreed about the main reason for the loss. Second, not too concerned about the O given 500yds, 33first downs, big plays etc. turnovers hurt bad and lack of pressure and turnovers kills our D.

About the “eating our own” comment I wish it was different. I wish I could sit back and let guys be terrible fans, lack objectivity, ignore positives, ignore key aspects of the game, ignore the actual ins and outs of the game, all the while spouting the Same negative shit they always have. I wish I could but I enjoy the site too much to sit by and watch it happen without saying enough is enough once in a while.

Did you know one of our guys was spouting his shit in the first fucking half????. When we were staying step for step at that crazy pace? Sorry man, fuck that.

      • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

From now on, I’ll try to let it go. Let’s see how fucking outlandish it can get. It will be like a little game. I’ll jump off for a week and other guys will get so fed up they’ll step up too.

        • MB30SD

I’m already fucking sick of it. Just get the fuck off the blog if you’re going to be a whiney fucking bitch.

Fucking tired of it. It’s one fucking game. Shut the fuck up till game 8 for fuck sake. cunts. And if you’re new, don’t be a fucking cocksucker until we know you and you’ve added enough value and established a blog personality.

Jesus fucking christ, it’s a microcosm of normal society. You don’t get a new job and on the first fucking day walk into the fucking lunchroom bitching and crying or talking smack to your coworkers. It’s not that fucking hard you fucking philistines. This season has already been fucking brutal. smmmfh

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

MB, you complete me. We are 2-2 and there is plenty of time to bitch about going 9-7…..as everyone else is doing the same thing. It’s about getting to the dance and we will know in 3months.

          • MB30SD

yeah man. fucking a. so brutal.

That and I’m just not good with weakness (unless it’s my own of course). All the whining and bitching is driving me crazy. It’s fucking 2 losses that could have gone the other way easily. I’m not worried about it. We’ve seen super strong performances from all sides of the ball… we just need to pull it together. It doesn’t mean anything until week 6-8.

And you know what, I’m not here just for the bears, I’m here to hang with you bunch of cunts. I come here to try and entertain and make you guys laugh and think… and shit. That’s my release. I’m not here to take take take.

          • johnnywad

Look at the rest of the schedule. Every game left is winnable. There haven’t been many seasons in recent memory where that can be said. There were games under the last regime, I knew, we wouldn’t win. I don’t have that feeling this year. The Jets and Niners wins on the road, are enough evidence for me to see the Bears can win a lot of games this season. Yesterday was a strange game to say the least. It happens to the best teams in the league every year. We’ll line’em up and go again soon and it’ll be a different game. Just gotta win enough to stay in the hunt now, and get hot down the stretch.

            Newton dead.

  • Cormonster

So the only two undefeated teams right now are the Bengals and Cardinals at 3-0. The Bengals next game is at the Patriots, and the Cardinals is at the Broncos. There is a good chance no team will be undefeated after just 4 games. Lot of parity in the league.

    • AlbertInTucson

And somewhere, pete Rozelle is smiling.

  • AlbertInTucson

We lost a good Bear fan last Wednesday.

    John W. Callender.

John was originally from Palatine, Illinois and most recently a longtime companion to watch Da Bears with at my local watering hole here in Tucson.

Another good man done too soon.

    • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

      Sorry Al.

      • AlbertInTucson

If they’d told me at 20 what life would REALLY be like when you hit my age, with loved ones and friends dropping like flies around you, I’d have gone screaming into the night.

It’s been a real crappy summer for that kind of stuff.

Enjoy ’em while you can, boys and girls, because when they say “Tomorrow is promised to no one.”, they really mean it.

        • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Makes a forced pass to Josh Morgan resulting in an INT seem inconsequential.

          • AlbertInTucson

            For sure.

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Lol, even though you and I both know Callender would have called Morgan a pussy for not finishing the route!

          • AlbertInTucson

I dunno, Shield jumped the route and had great position, I can’t lay that at Morgan’s doorstep. On the OTHER hand, he can OT let himself just get politely WALTZED out of bounds at the 1 on that short hitch. If the Db can stop you at the one when you try and run him over, fine. But you HAVE to try and run him over.

          • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Fair enough, I was trying to sneak that one past you

    • CanadaBear

I hear ya Al. I was talking to my mom when she was around 75 and she said the worst part about getting old was burying all your friends. Sorry to hear about your friend Al. Hang in there.

  • AlbertInTucson

I asked earlier and maybe I’ve missed the answer.

Where was Santonio Holmes all day?

    • Donnnnn’t Caaaaarrrrrre!

Didn’t see a lot of him. I think they like Morgans blocking on the runs

  • MB30SD

bmarsh’s being injured is having a MAJOR impact on our O. You can see it in jay and in the blocking downfield. It was nice to see the run game kick ass, but you can see our passing game is hurting.

    • AlbertInTucson

Hopefully, the difference between this year and last is that we will be getting at least SOME of the parts, Rat, Allen, back in the lineup. Last year when they went out, they stated out.

      • MB30SD

we need bmarsh back to have the full passing game in effect. If we can put the run and the pass together in the same game that’s when we get really dangerous.

the D needs it’s key players back as you mentioned. We also need to keep mccray in and sub in vereen. I’m way done with conte he’s a total liability back there with a decent QB and no pass rush. (yes, I know, but really really now).

And time and experience. We will get better, just need our guys back.

  • Big Mike

2-2 Meh. Losing to the Packers. &%^%$#
