i will be the FIRST to admit i thought drafting Kyle Long was not a good move, but i am damn glad we got him on that line

    • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

I wasn’t happy at ALL when Long’s name was announced esp when TE Eifert, WR Patterson and yes, DT Floyd were still on the board.

Getting cute on draft day can sometimes lead to a gem like Long, but they can also lead to Shea instead of Chandler Jones.

Also, as much as I like Long, OG Warford for the Lions seems to be doing pretty well, and he was the 65th pick (3rd) overall.

Long better be dominant at OG and not merely a plug-and-play.

was always a huge fan of the long family. I was guardedly optimistic when we took the youngest and supposedly most athletic of the boys.

And, not only because of his bloodlines, but because emery pulled off a brilliant draft that stuck so doggedly to his strategy of ‘patch our most dire holes in order or need, with the best guys left on the boards for that spot’.

    All around great outcome.

Also, amazing video quality Jeff. Was that video posted by an Iraqi dissident taken from his 1972 10″ jailhouse TV via a camera fashioned together using old reading glasses, a mouse on a wooden wheel with twine drivebelt, and a 25 baud connection to the mainline accessed through a hole dug in the wall with a melted razor handle?

      Jeff is Tony Stark?

      • MB30SD

hahahaha… that’s the exact visual that was playing in my mind when I was typing that.

  • CanadaBear

Long almost makes up for the CD pick.

For all the Hendrix fans out there this looks like a must see concert.

If it comes to Western Canada I’m going!

There have been much bigger drafts fails than Shea McClellin.

      Boooooo.

Wow! Made me beam!! I was anxious on draft day when experts werent so sure abt this pick! Great video Jeff! LOL @ MB30SD comment on the quality!

    • DaBearsBlog

That video was shot off my computer screen with my shit phone. And I love it.

      • MB30SD

Hahahahahaha… so I was pretty much spot on. Classic.

A media personality (now) like you should get a better phone so you can tweet better pictures of your mundane life…..

hey GP, nissan does the ring: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1wsRC0zE7g

excellent special effects, but would have liked a stretch of vid showing just the sights and sounds of a lap. Looks like an impressive offering, although not a huge fan of the body styling. http://nissannews.com/photos/88fa/a449/88faa449-ea4e-4fff-9f8a-8e385f67ad27-685×445.jpg

No, not a NISMO guy. But GT5 will probably have 13 variants of the car.

Also, what is this zero competition nonsense?

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_N%C3%BCrburgring_Nordschleife_lap_times

The Porsche 918 is the only production car you can go and buy and drive on the street to the shop that did the Ring under 7. This is impressive, though – no Vette or Viper will touch this – now we’re past the point where RWD has any shot at all – they are doing 2+ G on the carousel and that demands AWD.

I’ve been browsing the web and it seems Cutty may be spooked about his ankle. If it’s worse case, there’s a decent chance he won’t be able to return this year.

Looked at that clip multiple times. Kyle may have just been happy his missed block didn’t blow up that play.

  • Shady

Really more of a twist than a shuffle.

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

I know I’ve seen that shuffle before. Of course, there’s the famous Goonies truffle-shuffle. But the Long shuffle reminds of something…was it John Candy? hmmmm
