First boring football weekend of the season.

    • DaBearsBlog

Is there literally anything worse than the bye week?

      • Trac

Actually there is but maybe another time?

        • MB30SD

          hee hee

      • Shady

I’d say last week was pretty bad.

    • Cormonster

Brutal football weekend. No Bears, no Badgers yesterday, and my second favorite team this week the Vikings don’t play until tonight.

      • MB30SD

        Corm… what in thee fuck?!?!?!?

Did you just admit to all of us after years that you’re a fucking Vikings fan!??!?!?!?!?!?!

      • Doc Nitty

Duly perlexed by Cor’s comment. Did somebody hack his account?

      • Cormonster

Let me clarify that comment. My second favorite team changes changes every week based on who the Packers are playing. Next week I will have no second team.

        • CanadaBear

WOW! You almost had a riot on your hands. I knew you weren’t a BiQueens fan so it was pretty easy to get your drift. If I lived in WI I’m pretty sure I’d hate the Fudgies more. As it is, The Kitties fans’ are the worst. I can’t imagine what insufferable pricks they would be if they ever had a dominant stretch over a few years. One 10-6 season and they turned into the biggest jackasses in football.

          • tobijohn

I like Packers and Vikings losses but that’s just business. Lions losses, I really take pleasure in…

        THIS WEEK.

        Got it… missed that.

  • Waffle

The 2nd half of the Detroit Dallas game was one of the most entertaining i’ve seen. It’s why football is the best game ever. Kids and young adults straight up balling out. Then Jim Schwartz sticks his dick into it and can’t even win a great game without being a huge fucking douchebag faggot.

    • johnnywad

Missed it. What did Schwartz do? R

      • Waffle

throw his fucking headset yet again. Can’t win with any class whatsoever.

        • johnnywad

Perfect guy to run that show

          • MB30SD

            fucking asshole

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

I cannot believe the Cowgirls. Meow v Cowgals was like shadowboxing. Wait for one team to self-destruct.

  • AlbertInTucson

Previously “Perfect on the Season” Steeler placekicker, Shawn Suisham, is putting QUITE the “Ugly Show” in Oakland today.

  • AlbertInTucson

    “Matty Ice” just got defrosted.

    • CanadaBear

For some reason it always pissed me off they anointed him the next great one without really being that great. Always makes me smile when the Falcons get clipped.

    • Trac

For Canada. Unfortunately, he did a pretty bang up job taking the wind out of our sails several years in a row.

      • CanadaBear

Yeah, that last second loss where MB was late getting over was brutal. Terrible squib kick by Robbie and a lousy decision to squib kick. Other than that, that loss didn’t bother me.

    • DaMurph

It’s been one quick descent for the Falcons! I bet Tony G wishes he had stayed retired.

  • Trac

I was right on my three picks.(Lions, Saints, Chiefs) Lets see if my Shaky Jake Special comes through in the late game tonight.

  • MB30SD

    couple thoughts about the vikings.

    Ponder is just, so… turrible.

AP is an alien. Just not human.

  • MB30SD

god I hate aaron rodgers… because he’s so god damn good. mother fucker man.

    • MB30SD

      Oh, and this just in….

      … mike mccarthy is fat.

      (it’s a queeeen-now!)

  • MB30SD

    jesus vikings.

    you. are. turrible.

  • MB30SD

    turning this game off… unwatchable.

    • AlbertInTucson

I found it so compelling I switched over to the baseball game.

  • Waffle

From the HOLY SHIT files comes this gem:

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/27/mike-pouncey-receives-subpoena-for-grand-jury-testimony-in-hernandez-gun-case/

“According to Pete Thamel and Greg Bedard of SI.com, Mike Pouncey was served with a grand jury subpoena after Sunday’s game. Per the report, police are focusing on Aaron Hernandez’s “potential involvement in INTERSTATE GUN TRAFFICKING, which is being investigated by several agencies in multiple states — at least Massachusetts, New York and Florida.”…

It’s unknown whether Pouncey is simply a witness or also a target.

Per the report, “signs that Hernandez was involved with a large-scale, multi-state gun running operation began to emerge” shortly after the investigation began regarding the June 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd.”

    • AlbertInTucson

So, you’re saying that the authorities have…(wait for it)…
      POUNCED on Mike Pouncey?

    • MB30SD

(sarcasm) yeah, I am totally shocked and awed. (/sarcasm)

smfh. bunch of god damn thugs maing.

      • Waffle

what’s funny to me is when guys that are already multi millionaires “invest” and lose all their money. The whole point of investing is to create wealth and these guys ALREADY had the wealth hence no need to risk anything and you could still generate hundreds of thousands in interest per year.
Hernandez apparently is a wanna be gangster kingpin but he was most likely trying to run a low level gun operation. I think it’s hilarious that in order to make the kind of money he had signed for with his Patriots extension he would have to be dealing fucking tanks to eastern europe.
You can’t make this shit up.

  • AlbertInTucson

Anyone else fear that tonight was just a preview of next Monday’s game in Green Bay?

  • AlbertInTucson

“Packers have no skill players and it doesn’t matter. That’s what the league strives for.”

    You ARE kidding, Blogfather, right?

  • AlbertInTucson

    “Peyton yells at people. Hero.
Dez Bryant yells at people. Ungrateful malcontent. Hmmm.”

    “Hmmm”?

I would not go as far as “hero” but Peyton HAS an established track record as a leader who knows how to run an NFL offense and knows where everybody belongs on a given play whereas Dez Bryant, even though he has FINALLY blossomed one of the games top receiving threats, took his own sweet time doing so due to an established record as a talented but selfish, inconsistent, diva who had numerous, unexplainable mental lapses and brain cramps along the way including MANY instances of not knowing where HE belonged on a given play, let alone everybody else.

After all, that WAS his teammate, Demarcus Ware, on the Cowboy sideline telling Dez to knock it off, wasn’t it? Hmmm?

  • BerwynBomber

Hate to say it but what Rodgers can do with these guys who have never played an NFL game is f-ing amazing. Lacy, btw, gives them a new element. Is Matthews scheduled to return next Monday?

    • AlbertInTucson

Al Michaels said, pre-game, that they were hoping to get Matthews back in 2 weeks.

      • AlbertInTucson

It wouldn’t surprise me if Matthews was thinking “Screw THAT I’m not sitting out against the Bears.”

    • SC Dave

Rodgers is what a real QB looks like.

      • Waffle

Rodgers is what a hall of fame quarterback looks like. Most of the QB’s in the league are the real deal. Rodgers will go down as one of the greats.

  • AlbertInTucson

‘Minnesota quit on this game. No way around it.”

    Too true.

If they hadn’t been playing the Packers it would have been laughable instead of so sad.

Fair to say this is the “Les Frazier Farewell Tour”?

    • BerwynBomber

Curious whether they will give Lovie a look.

      • AlbertInTucson

        “NFC North Inbreeding”?

        • BerwynBomber

Of course they already have Singletary up there too. But hard to imagine Samurai ever getting another HC gig in the NFL. Media suggests Lovie is on TB’s radar but who knows.

          • MB30SD

never going to happen. No one likes crazy people

  • MB30SD

    is mike vick done?

    http://nfl.si.com/2013/10/27/michael-vick-injury-matt-barkley-philadelphia-eagles/?sct=nfl_t2_a13

He just can’t stay healthy. Gotta believe karma is a bitch at some point.

    • AlbertInTucson

“Mike Brown / Chris Chandler Syndrome”

      • AlbertInTucson

A pox on the Eagles for playing him today. Bad hammys do not get better by playing on them.

    • BerwynBomber

Yep, Vick seems done. Ditto the Chip Kelly experiment. Then again, 7-9 may win that division. Even the G-men aren’t completely out of it.

  • BerwynBomber

Biggest play in that Detroit/Dallas fiasco might have been the third down holding penalty on the ‘girls. What a horrendous, stupid penalty. If the flag doesn’t fly Dallas could have run forty-five seconds off the clock, which essentially might have ended the Lions’ chances.

    • Cormonster

I agree. I was thinking the same thing. With a pooch punt, Detroit would have only had 15 or 20 seconds to get in field goal range.

  • AlbertInTucson

Still never saw the PI call that set up the Viking TD just before half last night.

  • Big Mike

How do the Packers keep losing guys and still remain elite? How bad is the MN QB situation. Ponder was just bad. Weak arm, bad decisions… The Cowboys are a joke in close games. Hate to say it, but Detroit looks solid for years to come. Both sides of the ball can make plays.

Bears.. well we are one-sided and missing our leader on that side. Who knows what McCown can do. Defense, You never know, but GB could put 50 on this unit.

Bears GB was my game on MN F in Lambeau was my game of the year in the pre-season. Now it feels like a march to my own execution….

Keys to the game, long time consuming drives, lucky bounces, no penalties, a special teams score. Will take at least 30 points to have a chance.

I tell you this if Trestman and the Bears pull out a win in GB, it would be epic. Franchise changing landmark victory. However all trends, (MNF record, record without Cutler, Road Night Game, etc) point to an ass whooping.

  • Big Mike

Do you trade a 3rd rounder for Jared Allen?

    • AlbertInTucson

I’m not sure how much is left in his tank and you still have to deal with the cap.
