Dallas Cowboys at Chicago Bears Game Day Thread

| December 9th, 2013

ditka

I will be gallivanting around the city of Chicago all day, trying to pass the time and find the perfect pair of long johns. This will be your home to rant and rave for the entirety of the day and night. And take this, from Dan Pompei’s excellent Ditka profile from Sports on Earth:

So when Michael Keller Ditka limps out to the 50-yard line at Soldier Field Monday night for a crowning achievement in his life, the ovation will be loud, long and real. It will be for all he has done, sure. But mostly, the applause will be for all that he is.

Enjoy the night.

Hey, did you see that Butkus actually handed his own award to Keuchly? How bad ass is that? I want to give an award named after me to someone.

The 85 Award, given to Major Wright, presented by 85.

You can deduce what the award is for, and it AIN’T for football excellence.

  • gpldan

    Jeff tweets:

“I have always thought w/right financing DBB can be a great blog but also be a great community asset in Chi. Last night we took our 1st step.”

So why are there no ads yet? RIght below your tweet feed there should be ads for:

    1. Cialis.
    2. Pet birds
    3. XBox Live, now with NSA Sponsored Archiving
    4. WWE or UFC
    5. Jaguar and/or Ferrari
    6. Victoria’s Secret ads with boobage

Let’s get started on this! At a nickel a click-through, you will soon be rolling in dough.

    • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

      7. GUNS.

      • SC Dave

        8. Whiskey

        • MB30SD

did we mention boobies? Oh right, 1 and 6

          • Shady

I think Kate Upton deserves her own category.

  • gpldan

    Trivia Time!

Ditka’s 89 is being retired, never to be worn again. Name other Bears TEs that wore 89 prior to this event.

    I will start.

What’s the over/under on catches for Jason Witten tonight. A dozen? More?

    • MB30SD

wright (wrong) will be on him a lot of the night, right? : /

      • gpldan

Wright was benched in the Vikes game in favor of the Anti-Plank Missile.

He’s been media quiet since then, but I anticipate Steltz starts again.

        • MB30SD

pulled hammy… he’s back tonight according to espn. Yay!!!

    • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

Witten, 20 catches, for 20.8 yds.

  • BerwynBomber

I like our chances tonight, mainly for the same reason I like our chances with Detroit at the top of the division: the opposition’s HC. Not impressed with Garrett. He often looks overmatched and has pulled more than few time management blunders since he took over in Dallas. I also don’t trust his commitment to run and sense that whichever team does the most will win. Oh, and Dallas’s D is worse than ours.

    • tobijohn

Relieved to know that the Ds are a wash We might have a chance after all. The spread has been going back and forth all week. At last glance, the Bears are mostly favored by 1.5 but a couple places have the Cowboys at -1…

      • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

It’s going to be a crazy game, I venture. We’re built similarly now.

Explosive, but inconsistent O, especially when it comes to the run game and short yardage/redzone.

Open highway D. Our excuse is that we’ve been devastated by inj, the Cowboys just suck which is a little baffling since they have a few playmakers still on that side, and Old Sauce.

Specials we have an edge, IMO.

I do believe it is going to come down to the run game. Who actually sticks to it even while the D is giving up points. In a sense, this might be which HC will gamble more because he holds little confidence in defending.

        Let’s see who blinks first.

        • tobijohn

I’ve heard Garrett gets a lot of criticism for giving up on the run too soon…

          • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

He does, and I have a slight inkling that it’s due to Dez Bryant whining all the time, so he feeds him just to shut him up.

The problem is, Murray isn’t one of those HBs which needs 20 carries to rack up yds. My suspicion is that once Murray starts ripping off huge chunks, even Garrett will stay the course.

  • gpldan

I wonder what Buddy Ryan is thinking about tonight’s ceremony.

    • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

During the presentation, Ryan will be carried unto the field, thus crashing the ceremony.

      • gpldan

        By Hampton and Mongo.

  • MB30SD

hey jeff, your ‘this is going to be an awesome super bowl’ theory just took a kick squah in tha nuts

    http://nfl.si.com/2013/12/09/super-bowl-xlviii-no-tailgating-metlife-stadium/?eref=sihp

No Fun League. What a joke.

    • “Thank you so much for dropping $4300 on a nosebleed seat. Now please pay an extra $51 so you can get to the stadium.”

      • MB30SD

yeah, idiotic. these fucking guys. they’ve gots no clue.

        • they just want to make sure the superbowl is never held in new jersey again. which is fair. the meadowlands are fuggin stupid.

          • MB30SD

If I were them I’d just rotate it from the whale’s vagina, to miami, to Al’s AZ. that’s it. Everything else is stoopid.

          • Lambeau would be awesome. So would Soldier Field. History, and real chance of snow.

But the precious media peeps would be cold.

          • MB30SD

it’s also about the fans right. if you’re going to dish out thousands to go, partying it up in south beach or down town San Diego before/after the game would be a great addition to the experience.

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

My 2013 Bears game watching check list.

    1. Bears hoodie (check).
    2. Pizza/wings (check).
    3. Lap top to check my FF dominance and Blog interaction (check).
4.Lock up all sharp objects or objects which can be easily hurled (check)
    5. Tranquilizers and/or other ‘medication’ to calm blood pressure (check).

    • MB30SD

I’m going to buffalo wild wings with some peeps. there’ll be a few chick friends in attendance to keep me from acting too much like a nerd super fan/raging meathead.

I’m going in with a fuck it, I’ll just go have fun and not worry about it too much With briggsy jay and most of the D still out… I’ve kinda already chalked this year up to a learning kick off year from trestman.

      • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

I find it hard for me to “socialize” AND watch Bear games. If a chick is asking me what I think about the latest episode of Walking Dead while Alshon is going in motion, all I’m thinking is, “Are they gonna run that reverse again?” Then I usually start yelling at the TV, which I’m sure is not a turn on.

        • MB30SD

yeah, I’m the same way. None of these chicks are remotely romantic interests, just good friends so they know about my fandom.

Just trying to relax this game. If we were 14-1 right now and this was the packers game it would be a VERY different story… in fact, I’d be in Chicago at the game (BOOM!). Alas, not this year.

          • Shady

            Fat chicks need love too.

          • gpldan

It’s why they get picked up at BW3.

          • Shady

            Not without a forklift.

            (I’m such an asshole)

          • gpldan

            Boom!

          • MB30SD

Hahahaha… the two I know aren’t at all fat actually. Just not my type and are friends.

        • that’s when you turn it around and bring her into the game. “you want to talk about walking dead? let’s talk about the bears defense.”

          • MB30SD

no, you wait until the fucking bachelor or housewives is on, then interrupt in the middle of a cat fight scene and start asking her about whether she thinks we should switch to a 3-4 next year

          • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

I’m sooooo doing that next time a girl I’m kinda seeing starts watching Grey’s Anatomy,

          • MB30SD

            grey’s anatomy…. groooooaaaaaaan.

          • gpldan

The pheromone spray! Try the spray! LOL.

          • MB30SD

            deer antler?

          • gpldan

            Might work on fat chicks.

          • MB30SD

            Hahahahahahaha

            Cow antler?

          • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

bwwhahaha…I already know the response, “I don’ get it” OR “What’s defense? Is that the guy who throws the ball?”

  • gpldan

Now I feel like Wild Wings for the game…

    • Shady

      Honey BBQ and Teriyaki FTW.

    • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

      Cajun. Definitely Cajun style.

    • MB30SD

WTF?!?!? You guys are pussies… I LOVE their medium and nuclear ones.

Of course, I get them to use with celery and carrot sticks only. Wings would make me fat. *sniff*

The last time I ordered that the waitress looked at me and goes, “I’ve NEVER had a guy order something like that from me… and I’ve worked here for like, 5 years”.

My buddies were all cracking up at me, but I didn’t miss a beat and fired back at her, “That’s ok sweetie, I’m secure with my manhood, and I have a very large penis”.

She laughed and gave me a high 5.

      take that bitches! HA!

      • Shady

“Of course, I get them to use with just celery and carrot sticks only. Wings would make me fat.”

Get out. Just get the fuck out and take your spanx with you Richard Simmons.

        • gpldan

Seriously. If I come to a DBB event, I’m just gonna bull rush him and take him down.

          • MB30SD

you’re way bigger than me, but…

            oh ok… GP… fuckface.

first take a big step back and literally… fuck your own face!!!

I’m gonna have to head down there and I will rain down in a Godly fucking firestorm upon you! You’re gonna have to call the fucking United Nations and get a fucking binding resolution to keep me from fucking destroying you. I’m talking about scorched earth, motherfucker! I will massacre you! I WILL FUCK YOU UP!

          • Shady
          • Shady

… Pry his mouth open and force feed him poutine and foie gras …

… And he’ll consider himself lucky for not doing what we could have done after prying his mouth open …

          • MB30SD

Oh, I eat bad stuff here and there… just never been into wings. Not my thing.

When I have cheat days I go with the Carne Asad Burrito with guac and 5 rolled tacos for Roberto’s. Fucking awesome.

            http://www.robertos.us/menu.php

          • Shady

Thank you for linking that comment to the menu of possibly the most generic Mexican restaurant I’ve ever seen. Way to illustrate your story. Enough of this jibber jabber, I need to prep mah-self before gametime.

          • MB30SD

it’s one of the best. dude, the boarder is like fucking 25 minutes from my house. SD has the best mexican food outside of… mexico. Punk!

          • Cormonster

You got the large mouth of Jesse the Body too. Hah! So what’s a normal dinner? Egg whites, strained cottage cheese, and boiled skinless chicken?

          • MB30SD

            uhhhh… thanks. colon…. forward slash.

pretty close. the afternoon snack I just had was:
            * 3 egg whites
            * half a can of hearts of palm
            * some raw carrots and broccoli with cayenne hummus
            * about 8 kalmata (sp?) olives (good fat and all that)
            * large bottle of water

          • Cormonster

Just joking. The blog is always more lively and entertaining when your around.

That meal sounds like something my ex fiance would eat after we split and she got into body building. She started looking gross for a while (too muscular), but looks a lot better now.

          • MB30SD

            thanks maings.

Yeah, I don’t eat like that ALL the time… with two little kids there’s always shit like mac and cheese and pizza and hot dogs and carblicious snacks everywhere… and little kids eat about 1/8th of what you prepare/put out so I end up eating leftovers because I hate wasting that much food/money.

Yeah, I’m not a fan AT ALL of muscular women… as you can tell from my favorite Ms. Upton.

          • SC Dave

Sounds like a decent base for a couple gallons of beer.

          • MB30SD

Hahahaha… I like beer (Belgians mostly), but it kinda messes with my stomach lately. I get all bloated and hurts.

I’ll have a couple tonight. enjoy your $2.75 pints dave.

          • SC Dave

Thanks dude. Don’t mind if I do 🙂

          • SC Dave

San Antonio wasn’t bad. Just sayin’,,,,

    • SC Dave

Liberty Tap Room for me, boys. $2.75 pints… but what is a guy to choose?

Westbrook IPA? Rogue Dead Guy? Lonerider Peacemaker? Dale’s Pale Ale? Bell’s Two Hearted? Stone Arrogant Bastard?

Oh… decisions, decisions. But no matter… all at $2.75 a pint. Nice

      • Cormonster

I’m high rolling tonight with 45 cent Milwaukee’s Best, mushroom swiss burger, and jalapeño poppers.

    • MB30SD

dude, there was ice on my windshield this morning… ICE!!!!

      • tobijohn

Ice…that’s that stuff in cube form you put in your drinks to keep it cold, right?

        • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

I think that’s what they put in Cuba Libras in Fl.

          • tobijohn

Look, the teens suck but I’ll trade you 50s for 80s all day, any day..

    It’s elimination time, bitches.

    • MB30SD

where’s your girlfriend. cuddled up right by your side isn’t she? Give her a little doggie treat for me.

  • tobijohn

To kill some time whilst waiting for kickoff, an interesting piece by Biggsy comparing McCown and Cutler’s scoring stats. No offense meant, Johnny Waffle:

Hmm, Romo Lovefest currently on ESPN pregame…

    • tobijohn

Might just send him a Valentine’s Day card this Feb 14th…

  • Ufficio

    BEAR DOWN.

    (and bring the chat back)

  • tobijohn

    I think that’s referred to as a harbinger…

    • Ufficio

I think that’s referred to as the 2013 Chicago Bears defense.

  • Shady

    Why would Dallas ever pass?

    • Ufficio

      Jason Garrett’s a moron?

  • Ufficio

    Fucking lame.

  • Shady

The defense is a shell of it’s former, awesome self. Now it’s just, bad. Really bad. The rookies look like rookies. The guys off the street look like guys off the street. And the guys who should be doing well aren’t doing well.

  • Shady

Garza with his signature move, the illegal snap.

    • Ufficio

I thought that was the low snap.

      • Shady

        Ah yes, the groundball.

  • Ufficio

Awesome, another 80-yard drive that’s gonna end with 0 or 3 points.

  • bearsfantillend

    EARL!!!!!

  • Shady

EARL! Nobody ever expects the Earl.

  • Shady

Who, what and/or where is smaug?

  • Shady

Sherrick McManis rep’n for DeCamilis. IRISH WHERE ARE YOU?

  • bearsfantillend

what a great open field SP tackle by McManis

    • Ufficio

Somebody on the Bears can tackle.

      • bearsfantillend

i know its strange. they all just huddled up on the sideline to ask him how he did that

  • BerwynBomber

Both Ds are living up to their pre-game billing.

    • Shady

There’s really no reason Dallas should pass more than 10 times this game.

      • BerwynBomber

There isn’t but I suspect Garrett will. He and Callahan can’t help themselves. They had first and goal from our three and passed twice, which was baffling. And hey, we make the first D stop of the night.

  • SC Dave

Why does dallas bother to throw?

    • bearsfantillend

i would run on this defense even if it was 3rd and 22.

  • tobijohn

Was that a three and out?

    • BerwynBomber

No, Murray had 14 to start didn’t he?

  • tobijohn

Once too often to the well with that one. Retire it for a while…

    • Shady

No reason to get cute in DAL territory. These negative plays just kill drives.

  • bearsfantillend

    1st time since 95 with 2 1000yd receivers and 1000 yd rusher

  • bearsfantillend

    BAMMMM! block by marshall

  • BerwynBomber

Yep, Dallas defense is worse than ours. Man, what a nightmare it would be to root for a team whose self-delusional owner thinks he is a good GM.

    • SC Dave

      Irony exemplified

  • Shady

    MCCOWN! love it

  • BerwynBomber

The Ballad of Josh McCown continues!

  • bearsfantillend

    AIR McCOWN!!! showing the hops

    • Shady

      ONIONS

  • SC Dave

    Mccown is really on tonight…

  • underway

really miss the sideline/sideline speed of #54/55

    • BerwynBomber

I’d settle for a couple of competent LBs at this point.

      • bearsfantillend

        and a couple competent Safeties

    • Shady

Khaseem Greene not doing it for you?

      • BerwynBomber

Bostic ain’t doing it for me either.

  • Ufficio

Water freezes at temperatures below the freezing point. Brilliant reporting!

    • bearsfantillend

great science lesson. who knew! and heat unfreezes it amazing!

  • tobijohn

Jesus, you’d think coincidence would have someone in the right spot to stop one of these runs

  • SC Dave

    PLEASE PASS THE BALL, Cowboys

    • Maddbearfan

      They did…for 6pts unfortunately.

      • SC Dave

Yeah, but you *know* what I meant

  • underway

I dont understand the tackling logic of our Safeties… no legs and the guy cant run…..

  • underway

    perfectly timed Cialis commercial….

  • BerwynBomber

Were the weather half-human out this could have been a 56-52 final. Or similar to that game Dallas had earlier with Denver.

  • tobijohn

I don’t care how many points the Bears score, I could never get used to this horrid defense…

  • underway

    Man amongst Boys…. Alshon is….

  • bearsfantillend

holy crap!! Jeffery is a fucking beast with hands like vice grips

  • BerwynBomber

    Our passing game looks unstoppable.

    • Ufficio

      Just like Dallas’s running game.

    • SC Dave

      Josh

  • tobijohn

    Where’s M Bennett been?

  • bearsfantillend

great penalty.. now we dont have to try short yardage running

  • tobijohn

Don’t even think about it Trestman

    • BerwynBomber

Surprised he didn’t run Gould out there a couple of downs early. 😉

    • underway

I bet he thought about it…

  • BerwynBomber

Alshon probably would have caught that 2nd down pass in the EZ and that’s no knock on Martellus.

  • bearsfantillend

does Gould seriously wear gold cleats?

  • SC Dave

    Time for a new center

    • Shady

Robocrap (That was for you Irish)

    • Ufficio

Definitely the weak link on the O-line.

      • SC Dave

Garza has been a fine bear and can walk away with his head up. Please no olin shit, roberto

  • SC Dave

    Wow.. way to go zack!

  • SC Dave

The worst thing about the game tonight is that for the first time in weeks, the sound is on so i can hear these assholes on the tv

  • Shady

    OMGGG

  • bearsfantillend

    OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!! ALSHON

  • underway

i’ll say it again Man amongst Boys…. Alshon is….

  • Ufficio

Those two TDs Alshon dropped earlier in the season? I guess he took those personally.

  • SC Dave

    Alshon. Monster.
    That is all

  • Shady

It was also a perfect throw into the wind.

  • BerwynBomber

Best pair of WRs in the league. What a load they are.

  • Shady

    DITKAAAA

  • BerwynBomber

Ok, I’ll start a fight. Only Bears #s I thinks should be retired are: 34, 40 and 51. And I’d retire 54 before 89. All that said … DA COACH!!!!!!

    • SC Dave

      I would say 34, 51, and… 7

  • Maddbearfan

Did DaBlog lose the instant messenger window or did I miss something?

  • Shady

I like this George McCasky guy.

    • gpldan

      Enthusiasms!

      • Shady

He might have been a little drinky.

        • gpldan

          ya think?

  • gpldan

    Ditka!

    • Shady

      Go Bears!

  • underway

da coach moving at mach 1 to get off the field….

    • Shady

Coach doesn’t move at mach 1, mach 1 moves at Coach.

  • gpldan

    Alshon catch was ridiculous

  • Shady

OK I’m good, can we call it a game? Do they have to play the 2nd half?

    • BerwynBomber

Right. But I think we will be fine. Up 10 we get the ball and Dallas may soon abandon their running game.

  • tobijohn

    Cutleresque…

  • gpldan

Nice tackle Dallas. We get it its cold. Do you want to quit?

  • Bender McLugh

Josh MUTHAFUCKIN McCown! In Trestman we trust….McCown making this offense look easy

    • SC Dave

      Dont discount mccowns skill

  • tobijohn

Heads up by Marshall to knock that out

    • Shady

Yep, barely bailed McCown out of that brain freeze.

    • Ufficio

      Marshall is locked-in mentally.

  • AlbertInTucson

Great first half but we KNOW this one’s far from over. Can the “O” maintain this pace? I think they need to to get the W.

    • Maddbearfan

We need to win out to get an invite to the Jr. Prom..much less the big dance.

      • BerwynBomber

Actually, 3-1 might do it. Shorts and company could very easily go 1-3 down the stretch. Well, 1-2 now.

    • gpldan

ESP since Bostic can’t make anything happen

  • Shady

Damn, a better ball and Marshall has a TD there.

  • Maddbearfan

Common defense…time to come to life!!

  • AlbertInTucson

The first turnover in this game will be huge.

  • Shady

    Don’t stop now O…

  • BerwynBomber

Seventeen different D-lineman? Good lord …

  • gpldan

    Marshall mugged

  • Shady

McCown needs to be a bit more methodical.

    • underway

Glad to see the play calling has changed to take some of the pressure off of McCown… RUN IT DOWN THEIR THROAT… no need to throw on 1st or 2nd down now.

  • underway

    RUN THE FOOTBALL

    • Shady

      Cowboys don’t want to tackle.

      • underway

        too cold boss…. lol

    • Ufficio

      Must’ve heard you.

  • gpldan

bush rod stoning Ware worth his coin

  • tobijohn

Starting to feel sorry for the Dallas D. Well….

    • AlbertInTucson

Yeah me too…WHAT?! NO! NO! NOOOO! SCREW Dallas and that dung beetle of an Owner/GM/ Psuedo Coach, Jerra Jones.

      • SC Dave

        fuck yeah

  • Shady

Time to finish off this gorgeous drive with a TD.

    • gpldan

And there it is w the boot

      • Shady

Alshon and Forte in the backfield? Trestman did his homework this week with short yardage playcalling.

  • bearsfantillend

    Beautiful!!! what a great drive

  • AlbertInTucson

Hallelujah! A BOOTLEG ! And Guden called it, too!

    • BerwynBomber

Chucky does that a lot. Pretty sharp FB mind. I remember him calling a double-reverse by Reid during one of the fat man’s last years in Philly.

  • BerwynBomber

We are toying with this team. My God, how was Dallas 7-5???

  • tobijohn

Bears O is really in the zone…

    • tobijohn

Of course, the disclaimer is the Dallas D is in worse shape than the Bears’

  • gpldan

consider the last time you saw the interior three lineman of a Bears team push a team around

  • Ufficio

Our special teams are very “special”.

    • BerwynBomber

Well, Gould alone keeps us in the average zone. But yes, like the D, special teams have definitely taken a big step back.

      • SC Dave

        But no turnovers.

  • Shady

No prevent shit, still tons of time left in this game.

  • bearsfantillend

Announcing has been surprisingly tolerable so far, i figured we would have to hear Gruden sucking Romo’s balls all game.

  • Shady

D SHOWS UP on 4th! There you go Tucker, no backing down!

  • gpldan

odd call on 4th. Busted play on 4th is just undisciplined

    • Shady

It was telling Romo didn’t even atempt to make a play, just got rid of the ball ASAP to avoid getting hit.

      • AlbertInTucson

Well, I don’t want to smashed in a -9 wind chill , either.

        • BerwynBomber

Yeah, I can’t fault Romo for going into self-preservation mode there. Especially when your team is getting annihilated.

  • AlbertInTucson

    HUGE stop. Absolute HUGE.

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

After watching Dallas D, Rodger’s shoulder miraculously healed.

  • AlbertInTucson

It ain’t over, yet. Let’s chew some clock and get that clincher.

    • Shady

Now it’s over. Cowboys have packed it in.

  • Shady

Bears had 27 1st downs after the 3rd quarter.

  • bearsfantillend

    absolutely beautiful pass

  • tobijohn

    Not even touched

  • BerwynBomber

    What a thrashing.

  • AlbertInTucson

Oh. my. GAWD. Now THIS is what I call “FUN”!

    • bearsfantillend

i wish i was at the game. cold as hell and loving the show

    • SC Dave

Not quite like 44-0 back in 85 (my favorite game ever) but sweet nonetheless

  • BearFanInDE

Wow! I don’t remember a Bears offense function this efficiently!! Wow!!!

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

This is the first game all season I’m not pacing in the 4rth

    • tobijohn

      You and everyone else….

  • AlbertInTucson

And for those of you who think Mel Tucker should be doing more with a banged up defense, just take a look at what the Bears are doing to Rod Marinelli and Monte Kiffin’s injury riddled defense for Dallas tonight.

    • gpldan

If we had Briggs, Melton and Dj Williams we might contend

      • BerwynBomber

Briggs was our biggest injury of the season.

        • SC Dave

          Peanut # 2

    • BerwynBomber

Agreed. I can’t judge Tucker on this year. But as I wrote below, I’m starting to get worried about our two rookie LBs. Still way early in their careers, but man, they look lost out there.

      • SC Dave

Trying to understand the bostic love He sucks.

        • BerwynBomber

I don’t completely get it either. Or at least thought it was premature when I saw it on here a few weeks ago. He’s out of position/assignment a lot.

  • BearFanInDE

    Jeff…must be quite a party over there….

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

We should have onsided it, just for the practice.

  • AlbertInTucson

    Kyle Orton soon…?

  • tobijohn

Bears D reverting to the mean

  • BerwynBomber

Well, this one is in the books. My only crit is our run D and, specifically, our LBs. Actually, Anderson looks pretty functional. I’d bring him back next year if he’s cheap. But Bostic and Greene look lost most of the time. Both are rooks who, of course, weren’t expected to start, but they are a concern.

  • gpldan

Conte gets a lot of hate but he’s been making his tackles and hitting

    • tobijohn

      true enough

    • BerwynBomber

Greene and Bostic have momentarily made me forget Conte and Wright.

      • SC Dave

Safeties are not supposed to make all the tackles.

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

How in the heck did the Cowboy’s O score 48 on the Broncos? Figured they would put up at least 38 on us (though it’s still a little early).

  • BearFanInDE

He just made one more…might’ve saved a td

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

Our gap discipline, contain and push still need MAJOR work, but our D overall has stepped up esp on 3rd.

    • SC Dave

Contain is especially hard to watch

  • underway

    Major Wrong….

  • Shady

    Major. S.M.H.

  • gpldan

    dear Phil

major Wright’s penis is much bigger than his heart. That is all

  • AlbertInTucson

Hope we play this onside kick well.

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

That was a bit of a busted play. Can’t expect safeties not name Vaccaro, Berry or Earl Thomas to cover for long, and even they get exposed on occasion.

    • BerwynBomber

Yep, that gym rat/trapped-in-a-collapsing-pocket play is the one thing Romo has done great throughout his career. Can’t fault any DB there.

  • tobijohn

    Here’s an ugly thought – this D with Mike Tice’s O

    • bearsfantillend

OH GOD! i am going to have nightmares

    • BerwynBomber

Why stop there? How about the John Shoop O?

      • tobijohn

        Even better!

      • AlbertInTucson

Shoop. Rhymes with Poop. For good reason, too.

    • AlbertInTucson

      Was THAT really necessary?

    • SC Dave

Damnit, Tobi. I’ve always liked you. But now…

    • i wonder how krenzel would look in trestman’s offense. the guy majored in molecular genetics, ya know.

  • BearFanInDE

I’m getting nervous now…still lot of time . Can Romo pull a Brady?

    • Ufficio

Not unless they replace their entire defense.

  • bearsfantillend

I love how our WR block

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

    I want FORD.

    • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

this might be the last big lead we have all season!

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

This just in, Bears retiring Ditka’s # at half-time until they lose.

    #suckitdabears

    • AlbertInTucson

As I recall, the LAST time they retired numbers at half time (40 & 51…?) was on a Halloween, Monday Night in a monsoon level rainstorm and Narcissus had spolied the party by halftime.

      • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

Only Da Coach can reverse the curse.

      • BerwynBomber

Yeah, the diva from MS killed us for what seemed a decade.

  • johnnywad

Dear Marc. Please take Forte out of the fucking game. Thank you

    • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

Take them all out. On D too, except for the rooks and those close to being on the practice squad.

  • Shady

    goooo forrr ittttttt

  • Shady

Feels good boys, enjoy it, lap it up, we only get 1-2 of these a year.

  • AlbertInTucson

I think I hear Don Meredith singing, “Turn out the lights, the party’s over.” Have a nice flight back to “Big D”, Jerry.

  • Shady

Every time the Bears have had the ball, they’ve scored. Are you kidding me? Has that EVER happened? Al?

    • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

Can’t even do that in Madden.

    • AlbertInTucson

Not in MY memory, THAT is for SURE!

    • SC Dave

Josh… bad D…. Alshon brandon matt earl uni
      what chance did they have?

    • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

according to twitter, ’91 WC game vs Cowgirls was the last time Bears didn’t punt.

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

Would’ve been a perfect weekend except for the stupid ass dirty birds.

  • BerwynBomber

We are one yard short of 500 total O tonight.

  • Shady

    NECKBEARD!

    • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

      The Amish pee-shooter.

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

    Neck Beard!

  • AlbertInTucson

Naturally, all 3 of the NFC PLAYBOOK guys picked Dallas in this one.

    • SC Dave

      naturally

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

I think Alshon has had the two best receptions of the year. Him and Josh Flash Gordon are gonna tear up the league for years. Gordon gets bonus points for being a beast with 3 different Cleveland QBs. CLEVELAND Qbs.

    • if he does it with hanie next week, i’ll send him a nice bottle of cognac.

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

Prepare your keesters for hours of Skin’s debate about RG3 and Shanonhon…

    • AlbertInTucson

Reports are that Shanny wants to bench RG III. As going away FUVM to Daniel Snyder?

      • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

Giant FU to Snyder. I hope he does bench RG3 – it would be interesting to see what happens. Would’nt put it past Snyder to fire Shanahan’s son and making his dad quit and eat his contract.

  • BerwynBomber

McCown getting compared to Peyton and Brady by Young and Dilfer. Lewis pops their balloon by noting that Dallas’s D might be the most horrific in the league. Regardless, the McCown story is bizarre.

    • AlbertInTucson

Much as I dislike agreeing with Ray Lewis, it IS a valid point so let’s not get TOO giddy.

The Browns play WAY better defense than Dallas. OR the Bears, for that matter. That PI call against the Browns Sunday was horrific.

If the Browns rush for 200 next week, they are not going to be on the wrong side of the score.

      • BerwynBomber

Yep. And yes horrible PI call on the Brownies. I’ve hated the way the pros have officiated PI for years — way too touchy for my money and they rarely call O PI. I’m also not a fan of the spot foul element of it. Would like to see them adopt college’s fifteen yard rule.

        • AlbertInTucson

The NFL has gotten Overtime right and the colleges have OT COMPLETELY, horribly, ridiculously, WRONG!

On the other hand, college has PI right. Spot foul or 15 yards, max. The concept of 30, 40, 50+ yard penalties is awful.

          • SC Dave

Then players would have incentive to interfere on EVERY pass over 15 yards rather than get beat.

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

Did Young just really say it’s not a bad thing to have to great QBs on the same team? Did he forget he played in SF behind Montana?

    • BerwynBomber

Give him credit: he knows that worked out pretty well for SF.

      • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

It did, but he HATED it.

        • BerwynBomber

Agreed. What I was trying to say is to give him credit for having the perspective now to recognize that it was good for the franchise. Anyway, our situation is different. First off, Montana and Young are HoFers; Cutty and McCown ain’t. Secondly, McCown knows his place and is near the end of his career; this is all gravy for him.

          • SC Dave

Not sure they should ask him anytime soon.

  • AlbertInTucson

What’s really sad/frustrating/maddening: The Bears should 9-5 (and 4-1 in the division) with Detroit in the rearview at 6-7

    • BerwynBomber

Yeah, but we also could have lost to Cinci, Balt and the 1st Minny game. Tends to even out.

      • AlbertInTucson

Disagree.Strongly. We HANDED Detroit and Minnesota those games.

  • MB30SD

shame on you GP. I saw conte miss about 5 tackles and take another 3 bad angles on huge runs that he could have stopped.

He’s only making tackles 20+ down field save a couple times. Both of our safeties are so abjectly turrible.

and so is tucker. No excuses.

Finally, even though he gets zero help from the line, I am starting to sour a bit on Bostic. Common kid, you have to start getting better regardless at some point if you want to stick. I know you ain’t no luke kuekly, but COMMON MAN!

    • SC Dave

I saw two bad angles on the edge where HAD THE CB DONE ANYTHING to hold the edge, Conte’s angle would have been perfect. You’re too blind to it, MB… truly too blind. You and Conte is just like Waffle and Cutler.

      • MB30SD

I’ll see if I can find the one video where everyone yelled at the screen dave. He’s…. TURRIBLE.

        And yes, but I’m…. inverted.

    • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

Bostic and Greene look lost. I know they’re rookies, but they play like they just learned football. That’s part bad coaching. Then again, they could be as dumb as rock, in which case that’s bad GMing.

  • MB30SD

oh, and awesome win. Man it feels good to blow someone out finally.

Can you guys imagine what this team would look like with our D from the last 2 seasons? Yikes!

    • SC Dave

Fantasies are nice, eh? Perhaps this year’s D with all the starters would have done it?

      • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

        2006 D and Specials plus 2013 O…mmmmmbears…

      • MB30SD

anything but this. jesus it’s painful to watch.

Butkus and his fat kid are turning over in their grave.

BTW, please sweet god can we stop the Anchorman commercials now?!?!? PLEASE!!

  • AlbertInTucson

“Side note on photos: might be time to drop 30 lbs, Jeff. Your face looks like it should be floating down 5th Avenue in NYC on Thanksgiving.” Made me chuckle, Blogfather. I’ll save you a place in line behind me a Weight Watchers/jenny Craig/ NurtiSystems. Wouldn’t mind dropping 20-30 myself.

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

It’s gonna be hard for Rev to get riled up this week. Then again, it’s a short week, and the Bears D once more allowed another HB to rush for over 100 for like the 8th time in a row.

    • 6th. tied the record. if (when) the browns rush for 100 next week, we own that title.

      • MB30SD

        Yay!

      • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

You know, the Browns quite possibly have THE worst rushers in the league. IMO, worse than off-the-street Gmen and old wheels Rice.

That’s why Gordon and Cameron are racking up 300 yds per game between them. If a Brown’s HB goes for 100, it will be a truly spectacular feat. The Mona Lisa of inept run D.

        • so are you taking a stand saying we’re going to stop the run next week?

  • SC Dave

    McCown and the Bears 27/36 (75%), 348 yards, 4TD, 0 INT

    Getting it DONE

    • Bender McLugh

      Tresrnan? Mancrush been killing it

    • MB30SD

they put him up against cutty’s numbers… McCown blew cutty away. Yikes!

      • 3 games in a row hovering around 350. IN A ROW.

has jay ever done it once with us?

man… gonna be real interesting to see how jay performs when (if) he gets back on the field.

        • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

But how about those 3rd downs and redzone TDs we REALLY needed vs Rams and Vikes.

Maybe Cutty converts those. Maybe Cutty throws 3ints in those games. That’s what we gotta find out.

          • 100%. i don’t know that cutty hits those lob screens that josh was nailing tonight. that was some nice touch. so was the alshon corner jobber. it helped that he was covered by a DB from William & Mary, but still a great pass.

    • yes. but. 2 dropped INTs (one in the end zone), and the actual INT that was called back (admittedly, it went off marshall’s hands. but still.)

    • AlbertInTucson

      Don’t forget his rush TD.

  • Bender McLugh

    Josh MANCRUSH McCown.

  • i’m glad the bears are done with MNF for the year. gruden is terrible. called earl bennett martellus a couple times. i get it – you see “bennett” so you think martellus because earl is a forgotten man. but dude, the unicorn is twice his size!

then, indefensibly, you call forte’s name when they run a sweep with bush. are you that lazy that you won’t even look at the numbers?

there were a couple of others but, well, killian’s.

    • BerwynBomber

Who cares? Chucky knows football, informs the viewer of blocking schemes, predicts plays (he nailed the McCown bootleg), and calls players out when they’re playing like a shit. Missing a name or two is minor if you can bring strong analysis to a telecast.

      • MB30SD

Have to admit that while annoying, he’s VERY football knowledgeable and is actually kind of growing on me.

      • Bender McLugh

        Chucky was good tonight

        • MB30SD

everything was good tonight… you know… except our entire D… and our specials.

      • guess we’ll just agree to disagree. while he did call the bootleg, he was also off on a lot of play predictions. he called for demarco murray runs that turned into romo passes. he called blitzes that never materialized.

if you make a prediction on 60% of the plays, you’re going to be right some of the time. but if you can’t put in the time beforehand to learn the basics of the team you’re calling – like knowing that Martellus Bennett isn’t a 6′. 200lb WR wearing #80 – then i can’t put in the time to take you seriously.

    • Shady

AL-SHON JEFFRIES, let me tell you something, this guy. Wow Mike. This guy is fun to watch.

      • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

        Option Y banana!

    • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

He also called Woot Pepp, which was difficult because Pepp was invisible all night.

      • yup. i yelled at the tv for that one. 98 and 90 aren’t the same.

        • MB30SD

well they are… except for the 8 numbers.

  • MB30SD

I do want to take a quick moment to thank Tony Romo for continuing his classic and expected December crash and burn string.

    Thanks Tony!

    • Shady

The wings, yes? Did you eat them?

      • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

He ordered the Jenny Craigs wings, which was a basket of chicken bones with vinaigrette dip.

        • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

          Stop hating, MB.

          • MB30SD

            Hahahahahah… hypocrite.

      • MB30SD

I did.. and I chanted your name before I did.

Mango Habanero… very tasty and pretty hot too.

    • BerwynBomber

In fairness though, they could have Brady back there and it wouldn’t matter. That is the worst D I have seen in years. It’s amazing they were 7-5 before tonight.

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

So you wanna grow up to be an NFL WR, eh?

    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BbGIP_HCIAANdWA.png:large

  • MB30SD

just watched the interview of Jerra… speaking in hushed whispering CRUSHED tones.

That guy is batshit fucking crazy… the reason your team sucks jerry is… fucking YOU!!! Asshole.

    • Shady

      Bang bang.

    • BerwynBomber

Yep, he’s already become late-era Al Davis. I think the first tip-off was the Roy Williams signing. My god did they get fleeced.

    • MB30SD

Hahahahaha… monday night football casters just said the same thing. Called him al davis.

  • Shady

    WHERE ARE YOU LOBO?!? *Howls*

    • MB30SD

      Hahahaha… and Irish… and DY.

At least I know Rabbit is still alive, he just answered a text… and asked if I wanted to meet him in fucking Vegas for New Years! Booyah Rabbit!

      • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

I tried messaging Irish in his FF league since I play him this week and next in the playoffs, but maybe he’s not a happy camper since I’m about to eliminate him even though he was the top team lol

  • BerwynBomber

OT for a moment but does anyone else think the reason they have six Heisman finalists this year is to limit — as much as they can — the amount of time they have to focus on eventual winner Jameis Winston?

    • MB30SD

      bullshit popularity contest

either the dude is a thug and FSU and florida is covering his ass for the nat cham… or the chick is trying to cash in. Could be either from what I’ve heard so far

    • AlbertInTucson

Remember the Duke LaCrosse players? The woman in question in THAT fisaco is now serving 25 years for murder.

      • BerwynBomber

Yeah, I heard that. Anyway, wasn’t passing judgment one way or the other on Winston (frankly, I don’t know what to think) but I gotta imagine the powers that be fear an awkward broadcast.

        • AlbertInTucson

          Does anybody

          A) Really CARE about the Heisman anymore
          or
          B) WATCH that broadcast?

          • BerwynBomber

Got it: you don’t. But I generally just skip topics that don’t interest me.

    • AlbertInTucson

Best running back in the country could be Arizona’s Kadeem Carey. A real beast.

Bowman has been better than Wills the last two years. That’s a scary thought. Don’t know how the scouts missed Bowman.

I’m sure a long term deal for Cutler is out the window. But franchise him keep McCown to backup and use a high pick on a QB is the way to go

    —————————-
Jeff, why do you keep bowing down to this fucking clown. Franchise Cutler for 14.2 to 16 Million, keep McCown as a backup and then draft a QB with a high pick and have him sit like it’s 1998? With all of the issues on defense? What the fuck?

  • Ghost of Waffle

I just read a comment that someone was questioning whether Jay could have thrown a motherfucking screen pass like McCown????? what in the fuck is wrong with you people? It was a great game. It was also dallas. We also have the most weapons ever in Bears history. We also just lost to the fucking Rams and the Vikings. That was the fucking season. Seriously. Fuck off all you faggots.

Hahahahaha… 4 rummies in and ragin’

      Hello sir!

The season? With Shorts and the Lions ahead of us? Please. This division has week 17 finish written all over it.

    • TheBigCheesy

      LOL

What’s it gonna take for you to eat crow, Waffle?

“Cutler needs this” “Cutler needs that”

4 years of mediocrity and excuses the Bears have finally given Jay everything he “needs” to compete. Guess what? Any swingin’ dick can score points when you have:

      Offensive Mind @ HC.
Two gigantic pro-bowl WRs and a big FA tight end.
      Pro-bowl running back.
$$$ FA pickups and a 1st round draft pick on OL.

Why on EARTH would you sign Jay Cutler to a huge extension when a 35 year-old Vanilla Ice stunt-double can walk in and drastically out-perform him in a pinch. Draft a young QB and spend the money on defense.

The Bears problems on Defense are a DIRECT RESULT of the organization’s pandering to Cutler’s needs. The defense has been completely neglected for the past few years. They haven’t done shit since buying Julius Peppers in ’10 except for wasting a 1st on Shea McClellin (who actually made the biggest play by a Chicago Bear since 2006). They went all in on giving Jay everything he needs (lovie? gone. BFF Marshall? bring him in! WR in the 2nd round? Sure! Overhaul the OL? My pleasure!) and now just about anyone can do his job.

I’d give anything for you to be the one sitting across from Cutty and Bus Cook at the negotiation table.

      • gpldan

McCown is a Ivan Drago stunt double.

Cheeseheads suck at Pop Culture. Everything is Mariah Carey with you fucks.

      • Ghost of Waffle

Cheesey, i expected more from you. You moved down quite a few branches on the football IQ tree if you think Emery drafting two rookies including a fifth rounder, a second round WR and bringing in a coach from Canada and making a move in free agency for a TE means pandering to a quarterback. That is such fucking bullshit.
        1. Drastically outperform? Ridiculous. Why is it a crime to have two competent qb’s on a team?
        2. The Bears problems on Defense stem directly from Angelo not creating depth on the defense from continually drafting guys that couldn’t make an impact. (as opposed to your own fucking team where the draft record has been solid on both offense and defense you fucking idiot)
        3. The Bears problems on Offense stem directly from Angelo not having an NFL quality offensive line for the entire tenure of Cutler except this year when we really went out and broke the bank with a first round draft pick with 4 college games under his belt a veteran on a one year million dollar deal and a fifth rounder from Louisiana Tech. Bringing in Bushrod was a move necessitated by missing on every fucking offensive line draft pick that was attempted and by NOT drafting linemen in the first round for fucking years before that and certainly not developing them after taking them in later rounds.
The fucking offense was ignored for so long in Chicago that Jay has a majority of the Bears passing records and an actual winning percentage as qb. He did this with rejects, smurfs and guys that could never play or start on any other team. They got rid of Olsen For you to suggest that the Bears somehow bucked an NFL trend of by folding to the whims of their QB by finally addressing the offense in a meaningful way after ignoring the fuck out of it for years while fans clamored for impact WR’s and real NFL linemen is just dumb. Olsen, our only true consistent weapon besides our RB gone because Martz couldn’t find a place for a 6’5 260lb TE that could run and catch. Lovie’s inability to hire an OC that was worth a shit was what eventually did him in. Martz? Tice? Really?
offense, coordinator position and line in a meaningful way, a subject that if approached at any other time during Cutlers time here would have resulted in a better offense while having a solid D and multiple playoff appearances, is fucking ludicrous.
Cheesey, you always came across as someone who actually knew football so you can agree that your post was fucking embarassing.

        • TheBigCheesy

The problem with carrying “two competent QBs” is that one of them is going to cost $15 million a year…. and he hardly (if at all) improves the team! If JOSH MCCOWN can thrive in this offense, you have to like trestman’s chances of finding a cheaper alternative than Jay Cutler so the Bears can fix the defense.

      • Ghost of Waffle

oh and Berwyn Bomber, for you to like and agree with this post is a pussy move you fucking fag. Look at the actual post and if you agree with what he’s saying you are basically one of the only people in the Bears fan base that felt the Bears did nothing wrong in failing on offense for the past couple of decades???? get a life fag.

        • BerwynBomber

Chill, Waffle. I thought it was funny. Do I agree with all of it? No. Did he make some decent points? Yes. I’ve always said Cutler should be the starter when he returns. I have not wavered from that. And the name-calling crap isn’t cool.

      • Trac

Not buying all of it Cheesy, nice try though and some of your comments have teeth but part of being a fan is sticking with quality players in spite of their difficulties. If Cutty hadn’t gotten injured, the Bears are 10-3 or 9-4 all day long.

        • SC Dave

I don’t know how you can say that, Trac. It makes no sense to claim we’d have won this game or that game based on having Cutler or McCown in there.

          • Trac

Then I guess all the sports writers are out of a job. Totally subjective like most football analysis, I agree, but Cutty’s ability scares Defenses a whole lot more than Josh, that is the x factor. A healthy Cutty beats Detroit and he beats the Bi-Queens.

        • TheBigCheesy

If my aunt had a dick, she’d be my uncle.

If Aaron Rodgers hadn’t gotten injured, the Bears would eating dust, as usual.

10-3 or 9-4 with Cutler? What a joke.

    • Trac

I browsed through most of the thread and to be honest Waffle, I never came across one out of perspective comment. Any way you cut it, McCown has played well enough that had the Bears fielded competitive defensive squads, his play would have insured victories in almost everyone of them. That is the main job of the QB and I think for the most part, the average fan is amazed that he’s been able to play so well considering the circumstances. I’m shocked we’re still in this thing and that’s a good thing.

      • Ghost of Waffle

the average idiot fan that you speak of is willing to part ways with a top 10 qb after we finally get offensive pieces together that other “elite” quarterbacks get to have as an afterthought. The average fan is willing to draft a college quarterback and assume he’ll be as effective as Cutler/McCown in this offense. The average fan is a fucking idiot Trac and you guys honestly will get what you deserve. Chicago deserves exactly what they get.
We have been so starved for an NFL offense with NFL caliber guys manning those positions that at the first glimpse of pussy the collective fan base forgets what we’ve been working with for years and discounts our starting quarterbacks contributions. That’s fine. you get what you deserve and we deserve to be Cleveland because we are the worst fans in the sport outside of Philly. Hell, even GB fans wanted McCarthy out in 09 so maybe the average fan isn’t all that smart.

        • Trac

Whoa killer, time out! This season has been very challenging as a fan so far. One of the few bright spots has been the play of a washed up backup qb. You can’t blame fans for clinging to that. When the dust settles, fans come back to earth normally. You can’t blame fans for remembering bad Cutty and going a little overboard at times. Just a few weeks ago you railed against Trestmans calls and last night he turned in a hum dinger. I appreciate your loyalty to Cutler, I really do but take a moment to weigh all the emotions most of us have had to deal with so far this season before locking and loading and devouring our young.

Want to thank Shady mcCoy for being fucking ridiculous. My god what a football player. amazing and so fun to watch.

  • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

Peaking into the future, Browns will be tough; they almost beat the Pats (should’ve if it wasn’t for that BS PI), but they’re too inconsistent on O.

Joe Hayden is no joke, but who’s he gonna cover, Marshall, Alshon? Their Pass rush is good, but not scary, and our Oline and scheme is handling that pretty well.

The Eagles will be much tougher. McCoy is a baaaad matchup for our D with those cutbacks. I forsee DeSean burning our safeties over the middle. It’ll be rough going, but first the Browns.

    • BerwynBomber

We should beat the Clowns but, yes, will be a tougher game than tonight.

      • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

What worries me a bit about the Browns is that if Hayden can shut down Marshall, that means Alshon will get bracketed.

That means the Bennetts and Forte will have to play big. Not overly worried but not since the early season have the Bennetts and Forte really carried our O.

Plus, no guarantee Hayden can shut down Marshall or Alshon singlehandedly. It’s def a matchup I’m looking forward to.

        • BerwynBomber

Yep, good points. What little I’ve seen of him, I wonder if Hayden is now the best shutdown CB in the league. (I’m sure a lot of people would give Sherman votes too.) Might come down too to how well either Campbell or Weeden can play. Both of those guys can occasionally have a moment but they’re also capable of stinking up the joint. But the game will be tougher if only because Cleveland’s D will be a ton more competitive than Dallas’s.

    • johnnywad

McCoy ALREADY has 150 yards against the Bears. When is Briggs coming back?

  • AlbertInTucson

Listening to the replay of the game on the Dallas broadcast with Brad Sham and Babe Laufenbeg. As you may suspect, it IS priceless. Brad Sham makes no attempt to hide his complete disdain for what he sees from the Cowboy Defense, which he descibes “Non-competetive”.

    • gpldan

Adam Podlesh didn’t play football last night.

      So yeah, that’s pretty bad.

      • SC Dave

He looked pretty cold holding for Robbie’s kicks.

  • Ghost of Waffle

I’m fucking done with this. You can all have your backup qb and your college draft pick. Good job forgetting the past couple of years you fucking fags. Go fuck yourselves. There are a bunch of solid fans on this blog but your reluctance to call out total bullshit from trolls and bears fan idiot trolls is inexcusable.
    I’m done with it all.
Jeff, i applaud the move to the new site. This is bad ass. To the regs, thanks for sticking around. I just can’t waste anymore time addressing the madness.
To the pussy naysaying fair weather no perspective having fans, you deserve what you get. I’m hoping Emery is smart enough to do the right thing and i’m thankful that he addressed a problem that kept us from the playoffs and superbowl for years. Now, you guys can go suck Killa Cam’s dick and agree with Cheesey’s trolling.
“Good Riddance to you Waffle don’t come back”
Right back at you you fucking fair weather pussy.

    • Trac

C’mon Johhny, use the edit feature and reframe your thoughts. Stick it out until the end of the season and then lay it all out, don’t do it my friend.

    • johnnywad

Wasting your breath Johnny. Cutler isn’t going anywhere. Josh is what he is. Everybody with any sense knows he is a journeyman backup playing in a qb friendly offense with lots of big shiny toys. And I for one am glad hes a Bear. I want him to be our Charlie Batch. He’s led a charmed life the last few weeks. Lots of would be interceptions that didn’t happen and Alshon making circus catches. This is easy, if you had to play the Seahawks in the NFC Championship game, you rolling with Cutler or McCown? If I’m Phil Emery, its Cutler. If I’m fucking dumb, its McCown.

Yonny. Jeff nails the only real issue with cutty…

    DaBearsBlog @dabearsblog
My biggest problem with the “Cutler would be doing the same thing as McCown argument” is HE’S NOT OUT THERE. That is Jay’s biggest issue.
