First… just because. Suppose I should go listen now.

    • DaBearsBlog

I think this game is about stabilizing the season. They can’t get blown out of the building and expect to turn it around at home against Detroit. They need to deliver a solid performance and then win at home.

      • Trac

I’m not trying to be doom and gloom but I just don’t see how the Bears can stabilize the season with a loss against the Cheese. This game couldn’t have come at a worse time. Sure you can say that the bye week really helped but, did it really? Our Defense is in worse shape than it’s been in all season. I think Trestman knows that a victory on Monday night is really the only possible positive outcome.

        • DaBearsBlog

Then he’s wrong. Losses can be productive. Some of them have been season-defining (Giants/Pats during the undefeated year). This Bears team will be confident heading home to Green Bay if they play well Monday night.

          • 4ever85 (AKA Butch Deadlift)

But how do you define ‘losing well’? Losing by one score, two scores? Holding them under 30?

That Giants/Pats game came in wk 17 if I remember correctly, and made the Gmen believe in themselves heading into the playoffs.

Moral boosts early season? Not sure about that. The Cowboys have looked WORSE after they nearly beat the then undefeated juggernaut Broncos. Sometimes close losses can demoralize a team more than blowouts.

They like you, and Will Ferrell.

So, I’m not linking to Don Banks picks this week except for one thing… he’s a fucking moron. Read his write up about our game. Does one fucking iota of that write up have ANYTHING to do with the Bears Packers game!?!? Anything at all?

Dude, Don, you’re a fucking hack.

    • Waffle

lol, what a dick. He is so dismissive of Chicago that he doesn’t even mention them in the paragraph and instead focuses on Minnesota and GB.

      • Trac

I think an upset special is in order. Hopefully the Bears will scratch and claw out a win.

      • MB30SD

        exactly. dude’s a cunt.

I don’t know why, but a devout Muslim cursing his ass off reaffirms my hope in humanity.

I wonder if a study of former NFL players and suicide rates (compared to the general population) exists? I’d like to see those results.

Seau, Deuerson, etc are big names, so we might believe suicides are prevalent in former NFL players, but it might be a lot like DUIs. they SEEM more common in the NFL, but really they’re actually a little below the national avg.

    • Waffle

guys like Hamza are fucking jokes. His brother is still playing so he won’t say shit. Slaves don’t work for top 2% wages and have the ability to completely debt free for generations if they just don’t fucking act like fucking moron rappers. What a piece of shit.
Ask a laborer who works his ass off for 38k what it feels like motherfucker. Ask a cop for gets shot at by the piss of society to make 65k a year motherfucker.
Ask a vet home from the war that can’t get a job and has PTSD what it’s like to live like that motherfucker.
what a fucking joke. I’m sick of this “slave” fucking talk. it’s fucking bullshit. these fucking clowns are out of control.

      BEAR DOWN!

    • Sactowns#1

More than two weeks without a Bears game and the bitter taste of the last one is still in most of our mouths. We get a win on MNF and this place will be absolutely overrun.

How do you say “Stafford squeals like a fat lesbo” in French?

  • Cormonster

MB or MBHP, if I gave you 400+ million to develop a health exchange website in three years, you think you could pull it off? It boggles my mind how inept the Federal government is at doing its job.

    • johnnywad

Not me Cor. I’m completely numb to it. I EXPECT every level of government to be a complete clusterfuck and I’m nearly always right on the money.

      • johnnywad

Here’s an example, a very small slice of the overall government shit pie. And no, I’m not a psycho, I understand we need a government. In fact, I want one. I just want it to suck less.
I applied for a building permit for an addition and renovation from my local building administration. They say “we need three copies”. I have one. I say “I can get some copies this afternoon and bring them back in the morning.”. Nope, plan review team is on vaca for a week starting tomorrow. So they decide they can do it with one copy of the drawings. First red flag. If you can do it with one, why are you asking me for three.
I hear nothing for a week. After 862 (give or take) phone calls, I’m finally told I need a soil erosion permit WAIVER. Couldn’t have just told me that a week ago? Nope. So I go to the next office (8 miles away) to get said waiver. I ask why I need a soil erosion permit WAIVER. She says because I’m within500′ of a body of water. 2nd red flag. This body of water is a decorative pond at a neighboring property and is approximately 12′ in elevation higher than my job site. At this point, I don’t care enough to explain that water from my job site will not be travelling uphill to the neighbors Koi pond and thereby cause no harm. Its easier to write the check. “So why do I need a soil erosion permit WAIVER instead of a soil erosion permit?” I ask. 3rd red flag. “Because your project is under 200sq.ft. and the soil will be disturbed for less than 24 hours.” she says as she is looking a drawings clearly showing a 400sq.ft. addition that will have soil disturbed for months. So Ijust roll with it and write the check. At this point Im actually happy because the waiver is far cheaper than the actual permit. 4th red flag. There is nobody currently on staff to actually check site conditions for compliance if you’re actually getting the permit or to verify that you really only need the waiver. So all told, I lose a week, $25, and my patience for NOTHING. One tiny bit of government interface for me. Its pretty much what I get every time I need to engage my government at any level. I’m building a small residential addition. Imagine if I were building a bridge or an aircraft carrier or a website to kick off national health care. So as I said, I’ve become completely numb to it. Just let me know what’s expected of me legally and I’ll do the best I can with the resources I have left.

        • SC Dave

Wait until you get something similar trying to see your primary care physician about that troubling color change that mole on your neck recently went through…

        • Cormonster

Now I’m more pissed that I wrote a long response that got lost.

I’ve lost 10’s of thousands over the years because of idiots in charge of enforcing regulations.

Here’s a little story. When I attended UW-MADISON I majored in Soil Science. It was considered the top program in the world at that time. During my final semester students majoring in Environmental Studies, which was part of the “Humanities” department, protested that Soil Science classes were “too hard”. They got stardards lowered. This is no joke! These are now the fuckers telling us how to do our jobs. What’s even more fucked up is that my business practices are better for the environment than what these idiot sociology majors “think” are best. It’s infuriating.

    • tobijohn

Is that really true? Good Lord…

    • MB30SD

You should only know how the struggle has been with less than 1% of that amount in funding. With $400m I could build you a software program that run the government much better without any people. What a disgusting joke.

That’s what you get when you have a bunch or useless pencil pushers allowed to spend as much of your m9ney as they want without any repercussions whatsoever. Disgusting.

      • NewBearInTown

Northshore is a massive healthcare conglomerate that on the Northside of Chicago. They own what was Evanston hospital and bought out a lot of the smaller doctor’s offices in the area. Chicago’s population 2.7 million. I have to imagine they have 1 million patients in their system.
They went to a total computerized system a few years ago. Now every doctor sits at a computer to take notes while they examine you. All x-rays, test results and other records are available to anyone on the system. There is a portal for patients to view their personal records via the web. There are interfaces for desktops and tablets to access the information. And everything is very secure due to HIPPA and the like. Admittedly, their billing system is still terrible, but I don’t think they moved that part of the business into the same system. The doctors generally think its great – and I agree.
I have to wonder what it cost North Shore to develop that system. $10 million? $100 million? Seems like a system that can service 1 million patients can service 100 million with the right hardware infrastructure. I wonder if the folks that did that project put in a bid for the healthcare site.
One other comment. I feel for Kathleen Sebelius. Rarely does the secretary of health and human services get the chance to make such a big splash. If this went well, she could have used it to launch a bid for the presidency in 2016. Now, this might be the end of her career in Washington. People understand websites not working – no matter else she does right, nobody will ever forget this.

        • Trac

You feel for Sebelius? Because she was lied to? We’ve been baited and switched. The bleeding hearts were all misled from the start. This was never about affordable healthcare but rather, our politicians decided they needed more money to feed the beast. 1/6th of the economy is about to “TRANSFORM” into 1/4 of the economy and that’s just the beginning.

I digress. We now return to our regular programming.

        • Shady

“Everything is very secure”.That’s a joke, right? I’m pretty sure there have been multiple notifications sent to their clients informing them their info has been compromised. Having your info stores on a late database may make it easier for doctors to share and access your info, but it also results in massive data breaches.

          • Shady

Sorry for grammar issues but I still can’t edit from my cell, replies get way too ‘skinny’ to read. Only 1-2 words per line. Too difficult to proofread. Brutal.

Holy shit! The Dolphins win in OT on a safety!

  • Trac

Take note boys. If the fins can win as a heavy dog, so can the Bears. I don’t care how we do it, just that we win. Bear Down!
